Well, I weighed in at Weight Watchers and amazingly I was down 1 pound for a total of 18.5 since joining Weight Watchers 8 weeks ago. I need to lose 5.5 more to reach my 1st goal (10% of my weight lost). I am hoping I can do that before the end of November. I am going to try harder this week to stay in my points range and to walk more. It was dark today by the time I got home so I didn't walk today, but I am going to try tomorrow. Also, my husband put up a badmitton net yesterday so I may play a game of two with my son...he's still little so he's just learning.

I hope you all had a good Monday. I am so ready for Friday though because we are off from school for a whole week next week!!! I look forward to a whole week off, but I also worry about eating too much when I am home all day. I am going to have to keep myself busy, busy!

suetalks 11-13-2006 10:44 PM

Good evening ladies. Glad to see everyone posting. Sounds like all are well right now. I am better, but still having pain occasionally. I am convinced that my problems are from my gallbladder, but every time I have had tests they show nothing with gb. Yeah, right, that is why I hurt and feel nauseous. Told DH I am just going to go to the ER if it gets so bad again.

I did get a nice walk today, even though it was darn cold. Mom told me I needed to buy long johns...and she might be right. Brrr.

I am having Thanksgiving for us, DD and her family of 6 and her grandma and aunt. (my ex mil and ex sil) Just started my lists today for shopping.

JJPhat 11-14-2006 06:40 AM

Hi all,
WHEW I haven't been here in so long that I don't know where to start. Sorry about that. I am not very good with keeping up with forums (booo me) but I ma so busy around here that by the time I have a minute I want to be smothered in a down comforter and catching some ZZZ's...lol

So, I had my surgery last Monday--hysteroscopy and a D&C --The day of the surgery I couldn't stay awake, I just kept sleeping even when I was talking to people:o,embarrassing huh? Anyway, the day after that I was just fine. There was no pain at all. A little nausea from the anesthesia but that was it. oh and some bleeding but you don't want to hear about that.

The Saturday before the operation I took my hubby to the airport so he could go to Georgia for 3 months. Two days after operation Ben (my 20 month old) began to have high fevers AGAIN (it's about every 2 or so months it happens) Then on Thursday the 9th I took Melody (my 12 year old) to catch a bus to Escape camp--her first time away from me EVER! I was a little sick when I let her go. Believe me I tried to think of some reason to ground her or just tell her she couldn't go but she is a fantastic daughter and has done all of her work and isn't like most pre-teen/teenage kids who talk to their parents like they are trash. She even worked cleaning other people stairwells for 5 dollars a piece (a steal) so she could help pay for the camp. (We ended up paying and telling her that her $$ were hers to keep as spending money)

I piced Melody up on This passed Sunday night--then at midnight I ended up taking Ben to the ER. Since he had these fevers before and the doctors didn't know what they were all about the last 3 times I went to the ER I decided to wait them out and administer meds and baths...etc until they were gone. They didn't go away. Sunday night he was playing with his ear and whining so I looked to see what was wrong. When I grabbed his ear, he cried and lots of puss came out. YUCK!! Away we went to the ER. Indeed he has an ear infection. We got some Amoxicilin, Motrin, and Dymatap and went home. I didn't have to give him the Motrin or Dymatap because his other symptoms went away when I started giving the Amoxicilin.

Today is Tuesday and all are well in this house. The kids are doing thier chores without being beaten...LOL and my hubby is well.

Of course, even as I type this my son, Bryan (10) has come in to complain about Melody throwing his hat in the dryer. Yep!! All is back to normal:D

I'm sorry I can't do individuals. I don't have much time to read. I'm afraid I'm not a good forumist..lol It is overwhelming for me to have to read so much..LOL That's probably why I don't have a web site..LOL

Anyway, to those of you who are wondering what happened to my scrap page I will say that you will get it. It will be an 8 1/2 x 11 page. Today is my scrapping / stamping day with a couple of ladies so I will get a couple of them finished today. I am very sorry for the long delay.

Christina--I received your paged today. What a great idea to do digital and print it out. Do you have your own printer or did you take it to an office supply store and have them print them out? Next time I will have to do digital..LOL

Last but not least, since this is a weightloss thread..lol I will anounce my loss of another 5lbs. That's 10lbs total. I am not doing any kind of "dieting" or calorie counting. Just exercising and watching my portions. Yes, it does take longer to lose but it will be for forever when it's all gone..lol I will fix my weight loss scale thing when I figure out how..LOL

Have a great day. I will try to get on here at least once a day.

Tiffany

Jane 11-14-2006 11:10 AM

Hi ladies,

Tiffany - I'm wondering why you and Norma never got my pages? I sent them on 10/31, the day we all originally agreed on.

Sue - hope all is well with your gallbladder. I remember when you first joined us, you had lots of health issues, so at least you're much, much better now. I'll be cooking for 14 people for Thanksgiving. I've got my turkey bought, and lots of the side dish ingredients, but still need to get a ham. Thank goodness Mary lives so close and can bake it in her oven, lol.

Melody - yay for the additional pound down! They add up quickly, don't they? Enjoy your week off. The kids around here have only Thursday and Friday off. Do the extra days count as your fall break/teachers conference days?

Cristina - you changed your name again!! A big WOOHOO to you for 1 more pound, too. I'm hoping you'll make your Christmas goal. I bet you do! Oh my gosh, I think the Blue Star mother's group is just what you need. How cool that you found them! I agree, I bet nobody watches the movie, you'll all be so busy chit chatting away.

Sassy - I hope you're enjoying your 3 days off. Any special plans?

Hello to Maria, Julie, Michelle, Marti, and anyone else reading this.

Can you believe it's the middle of November? Where oh where is the time going??? I got my hair cut yesterday by a new stylist. (Mine doesn't work on Mondays.) Anyway, it's totally buzzed, it's so short, but I kind of like the freedom of that.

I've been doing more Christmas shopping, and don't have a lot more to go. Katie wants Disney dollars, and asked that we give them to her dbf too, but the nearest Disney Store is in Indy! And no, they won't let you buy them over the phone or via internet. What a bummer. But I guess that's just a real good reason to go to Indy, right?

I've been going over my T'giving menu, and have cut out some of the unhealthy stuff that nobody is too attached to, but there are some dishes that if I tried to cut them, the fam would rebel loudly, lol.

I'm still OP, and am doing the treadmill every other day, as prescirbed by my foot doc.

Have a good day!

Marti 11-14-2006 12:35 PM

Good Morning!

As usually I need to get a move on! I still haven't had a cup of coffee and that's just a must in my book. Maybe a piece of toast too!

Hope all is well w/everyone! Holidays are just sneaking up on us!! I can't figure out how to stall time!

Anyway...I will try to catch up on individuals when I get a chance. You all have a great Tuesday!

FrouFrou 11-14-2006 01:44 PM

Hello ladies...

TIFFANY...glad everything is well with you and yours. I don't know if I missed it but I didn't know you were having surgery...glad it went well. And glad you received the pages. I actually took the originals to the scrapbook store and had them make copies. AND...WTG on the loss! :carrot: :woohoo: You're doing GREAT!

MELODY...:woohoo: on the pound! :carrot: The cake didn't do too much damage after all. Badmitton is good exercise! I love playing but we just don't have much of a back yard to put one up. Of course I wouldn't have anyone to play with either so...lol!

JANE...I am starting Christmas shopping in a couple of weeks. Don't really have anyone to buy for other than the kids and Vince so it won't take long. I will send my mom and dad something also but will probably order online and have it sent directly to them. Vince is **** bent on deep frying a turkey this year so we are going to try it. May be the only time, lol unless it is good. But I am getting a ham too just in case. I'm getting my list and menu together also...I think it's pretty much burned in my brain as we have the same stuff every year, lol. You know....I was thinking about going with short hair, just a little afraid. I've had short hair before but a little scared now for some reason. Glad you are getting some exercise in and the program is going well. :carrot:

SUE...oh boy...I remember the days of having gallbladder problems, so glad it is over. Had it taken out in '95 and haven't had any problems since (knock on wood). I've heard a certain % of people still have problems after having it removed and DS is one of them. He has to be careful what he eats and how much. But I hope you find out for sure if it is your GB and they can do something. It's a terrible feeling for sure. Ah, your first thanksgiving in your new home, how exciting and fun! I remember our first one here...now, I can't believe this will be our third already. Time sure does fly.

MARTI...and speaking of time flying...you are right the holidays have seemed to sneak upon us. I can't believe another year is almost over. Funny thing though the last couple of days I have been wanting to write 2007 on my checks and I did on one, lol. Don't know where that is coming from.

MICHELLE...how are you doing today? Hope today is a good day for you.

SASSY...hope you are enjoying your days off with DH. Be watching for the mail the next few days, I sent you copies of your poem. I completely forgot to for some reason, doh! Just mailed them this morning.

HI MARIA, MARY KATE, JULES, NORMA and anyone lurking.

Finally going to get some cleaning and organizing done today. I've been putting things off for too long now. Need to clean to get ready for decorating next weekend. WOW! That seems weird to be saying. I still can't believe Christmas is here already. Also need to get a walk in. I may do my WATP 2 mile dvd and a mile walk on the treadmill...the weather is not so great today. Supposed to cool down and rain later. Anyway...

Have a great day ladies!

Sassy_Chick 11-14-2006 04:21 PM

Hello Ladies!

Hello Ladies!

Well yesterday I did absolutely nothing and it was GREAT! :carrot: lol.
Today I should get something done I guess. lol. Yesterday I was definately in a "funk" though. I don't know what was up. I feel much better today though.

As for any special plans on our days off -- nope, nothing nada, and we prefer it that way! lol. Oh we have a few things to do around the house but that is it! DH had to run some errands early this morning but that is all.

Michelle -- thanks I think we definately needed our days off! More overtime this week as well on Thursday and Friday again. The guy we are working the OT for is still out. I figured he would be. He had back surgery and at first said he would only be out 2 weeks! I figured that was way too short of time to be out with that kind of surgery! So anyways it may be a while for him so not sure how long the OT is going to continue, but as long as we can claim it, we're going to take it! lol.

Glad the storms didn't knock out your power or your roof off! Those poor people who had all the damage, I hope at least they all are alright.

Sue -- UGH. Do I understand what your going through! I've had the same issues since I was a teenager! (off and on) They kept telling me it was my gallbladder but like you, it never showed a thing and it still doesn't! It is very frustrating to say the least! But I have had two endoscopy's done. The 1st time I had 7 ulcers! So I got that taken care of and I just had one last year and everything was normal, he said that my stomach was a bit red and irritated but nothing major. I am on Nexium for my Acid Reflux and so far it is helping me. So not sure what your dr wants you to do but I know that when I 1st had stomach problems, I used Zantac. You can get it over-the-counter. Its worth a shot, if you haven't already tried it! Also Phenergan has been my best friend. It is a presciption and it does make you very sleepy, but it will make you feel so much better! It is for nausea. So maybe you can ask your dr about it if you want. All I can say is do not give up. I know how aggrivating it can be to have the drs not find anything wrong and you still are having pain or nausea, but do not give up! Hang in there and feel free to PM me if you want and I can give you my email addy & my IM if you want it.

Cristina -- Aw thanks. I kinda "forgot" about the poem myself, so no worries!

Jane -- I haven't even begun to even think about Christmas Shopping yet! Of course we have it pretty easy this year, well at least number wise. We only have to buy for each other and my inlaws. That is all. Because we gave my mom a brand new computer and printer for her bday/mothers day/Christmas. I might still get her some lotion and what not, but nothing major. The biggest problem is my in-laws. I have no freaking clue what to get either of them except for gift cards and how unimaginative is that? lol. They are the type of people who have everything, but want nothing. lol. Also every time we have ever given them a gift, it goes into the cabinet/closet and doesn't get used or my mil gives it away. (she is notorious for doing this) Infact, one year she even gave me back a gift I had given her, she forgot that I had given it to her! I didn't say anything to her, just took it and went on. It did hurt my feelings, but after that we don't buy her nothing unless she specifically says she wants it. I am not wasting my time or money on someone who doesn't appreciate what I give them. What really burns me up is if one her "friends" give her something she doesn't like she still puts it out so they "don't get their feelings hurt" but if its DH or myself that gives it do her, she will just put it in the closet or give it away. Don't get me wrong I do like my mil, but she does annoy the crap out of me at times! lol.

Well now that I've rambled on for days about my in-laws I guess I should go now! lol.

I hope you are all doing well, keeping warm, and in good spirits. Also :congrat: on all of the losses!

suetalks 11-14-2006 11:37 PM

Hi JL's. Cold here and getting colder. I still got a walk in today. I finally weighed in today after taking some time off. Surprise! I finally got UNDER 170..by 2 pounds. I didn't think I would ever get into the 160's. Maybe I got there by being ill, but I also walked 7 out of 9 days. I will take it and hope to keep it up..er..down. :)

Sassy- Thanks...I do take Nexium for acid reflux. I also had Phenergan, but need a refill. I had the endioscopy which showed nothing. Then I had a hida scan and a sonagram on my gallbladder. Neither showed anything. After my brother died with liver and pancreas cancer at the same time that I was sick I asked my Dr. about that. He did tests on both and relieved my fears, but it did nothing to help learn my malady. I go along for quite awhile feeling great and then it hits and lays me low for a few days or weeks. Never bad enough to go to the ER, but just enough to make me feel blah! After $20,000 worth of tests you would think something would show up. Sometimes I think the Drs. don't believe how bad I feel...which really makes me see red. A no win I guess. (and before 2003 I really never had lots of complaints medical wise)

Cristina- My DH is one who still has trouble after having his GB removed. He has side pain once in awhile. When HE had the pain they removed his even though the test only showed some inflammation. I can't get them to remove mine. Go figure.

Jane- How do you like the new eating plan? I didn't get the book yet, but I do plan to. I haven't started thinking about Christmas yet. It is hard with everyone scattered. You are so lucky to have Mary and family next door. (and so are they!)

Tiffany- Glad to hear that your surgery went well and didn't knock you for too much of a loop. I was sorry about the illness of your little one and hope he is doing well now. WOW...congrats on the 5 pounds!!! Terrific!!! I lost 2 pounds and am on cloud nine!

Melody- I am so envious of you. 18.5 pounds is wonderful!!! I just lost 2 pounds after a reallll long time of trying, and I am happy with that. Keep up the good work. I have sure noticed that when I don't walk or do some form of MOVING I can not lose anything. I could live on celery and not lose a pound. :) LOL...not that I could live on celery.

Marti- Hi...hope the coffee helped. I know I can't start the day without it.

I finally managed to get us booked on a straight through flight to LV. We didn't want a layover due to taking the little dog....her first flight and our first experience with pet traveling. Mom was worried about getting her into the carrier, but she went in today and was carried around with no trouble. She is not a barker, thank goodness, except when she sees squirrels. I doubt there will be any on the airplane, so whew! SO soon we will be out of the cold and having our winter fun!
DH assures me that he left the house out there nice and clean, so I won't have any surprises when I get there. He even did all the laundry so we have nice clean sheets when we arrive. Yay. Now, if I can just decide how to get everything I want for 4 months into a 25" suitcase. LOL..

Happy hump day tomorrow ladies.

FrouFrou 11-15-2006 01:36 AM

Good morning ladies...

I slept late yesterday (today, it's only a little after midnight but is the next day-Wed) and am wide awake. So I guess this will mess me up in the morning with sleeping in. Anyway, thought I would check my e-mail and check in here and see how everyone is doing.

SUE...you know DS, Jason had one stinking attack and went to the emergency room and they scheduled him for a few days later to take his gallbladder out. I went thru years of pain with mine because they kept saying it was an ulcer and treating it as one. DD did too. Excpet they did just about every test and couldn't find anything. It took an ultra sound for them to find she had gallstones. Just took an x-ray for me but years before someone would do that, ugh. And my mother has the same exact pain but they can't find anything. And guess what...they treat it as an ulcer. But she has taken meds for an ulcer off and on for a few years now and still has the pain, crazy. Well, I know you guys are going to enjoy your time in Vegas. I think the doggie will be fine. On one of our trips to Georgia there was a lady that brought a dog on and I never heard one peep out of it. And...yay for getting in the 160's! :woohoo: :carrot:

SASSY...good that you had a relaxing day of doing nothing. I think we all need to do that sometimes. I know I do anyway. Maybe your funk was due to the weather??? I know when it is dreary it puts me in a funk...that and not hearing from Josh in weeks. You know, I buy a lot of gift cards for my parents too. It's not that they don't appreciate gifts it's they are just too picky, especially my mother. Last Christmas I paid for two two year subscriptions to two of her fav magazines and she told me not to do that again. Ummmm, okay. She said she gets too much junk in the mail as it is, lol. So I don't try to figure out what she wants or likes anymore. If she doesn't want what I send, oh well. She can't say I didn't try.

Hi to everyone else

Nothing planned for today except going to It Figures and doing some scrapbooking. I have some ideas for my album and I need to get to it while it is fresh on my mind. Plus I need to clear the dining room table before next week to start decorating for Christmas.

Take care ladies and I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!

Marti 11-15-2006 12:01 PM

Good Morning Ladies!!

I had a restless night last night. So here I am tired. Bleh....

Maria--I have no idea where Eureka is....but I would have to say that I would be closer than Michelle. She's North of me somewhere, closer to the Washington border than the California border. Me...I'm right in the middle of Oregon.

Cristi--Hurray for the scale going downward!! :carrot: As for the time sneaking up on us.....I say how dare they take me off guard! I'm not ready! This weekend Jhanai & I will be shopping around for James and her dad. Looking forward to spending time w/her!

Melody--Hurray to you too on the pounds lost! Next week my DD only has two days off. Last week she only went to school two days. Having a whole week off for Thanksgiving would be nice. Wish I could do that for work!

Sue--My sister had her GB (I believe it was her gallbladder) taken out a couple months ago. And she requested to keep it!! Now why on earth would anyone want to keep a Gall Bladder?? Crazy I told her. She should've been some kind of doctor.

Sassy--I have it pretty easy w/the shopping too I suppose. I only buy gifts for James & Jhanai, and my niece and nephew. We do a gift exchange w/the large family. Otherwise I'd be in such big trouble trying to buy for everyone! So even though I haven't really started shopping, I don't have a lot of people to shop for.

Jane--James & I have decided that this year Tgiving dinner we're cutting out things that we really don't need. We always have this HUGE dinner. It always ends up just being the 3 of us. Why would we need this much food?? So our menu is shortened and it'll be good and tasty like always!

Hello to all that I have missed!! I need a shower before work so I better get off here and get going. You all have a great Wednesday!

Hugs!

Sassy_Chick 11-15-2006 10:14 PM

Hi Gurlsssss

Hi Gurls. Well here it is a picture of our new car, well not ours personally, but its identical to ours. So it should satisfy you for now. lol.
http://www.theautochannel.com/cybercast/2006nyautoshow/images/nissan/nissan_altima.jpg

Last night we watched the Da Vinci Code, finally. Hub bought it. We thought it was pretty good. Hub read the book too and he said where as the book is better, the movie was pretty good too.

Sue -- boy do I know how that is. Going through test after test after test and what do they find? Nothing! But one ultra sound on my husband and they found his gallstones! I've had ton of ultra sounds and I'm sure you have as well! Its very frustrating I know! Hang in there!

Cristina -- Right now as far I'm concerned my in-laws can just get a lump of coal for all I care! lol. Then they would probably say, "oh that is the wrong kind of coal!" LMAO! Just teasing. I'm not even going to worry about it as my mil isn't happy this year so nothing is going to make her happy. We'll be working Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so not like it matters anyways! lol.

Marti -- We went down the "gift isle" at Wal-Mart lastnight. You know that row they have all those prepacked things that are for gifts? They had some nice and cute stuff! Hub bought me a cute snowman tin with cookies in it. Not that I need or want the cookies, but I can always give them away @ work! lol. But the snow man tin is cute. :)

riacoul 11-15-2006 10:25 PM

Hi ladies. I'm still in my darn rut, eating stuff I know I shouldn't be. It's almost like I'm watching myself eat this stuff from outside myself. Does that make sense?? If anyone can relate to this, please let me know. I'd do anything to work my way through and beyond it!

Have a great night all!
Maria

Marti 11-16-2006 11:44 AM

Good Morning Ladies!

Can you believe that Thanksgiving is NEXT WEEK!!!! I don't even know what we're doing yet since I have no idea if James will be working or not. We may have Thanksgiving a couple days later.

Sassy--Very nice car! Bet you just love driving in it and the new car smell.........My "new" car is two years old now!! I have 30,000 miles on it already! Sheesh!!!

Maria--I'm sure everyone has felt that way! I felt that way just recently, over the summer. Hugs for you! I started walking more once we got our treadmill and it has made a big difference. Instead of eating, I'll hop on and walk. My energy levels have risen and that helps a lot too. So now I make walking a priority. I wish I had better advice for you. Because I know how you feel. In fact I know most of us know how you feel right now. You can always come here to "talk" to us instead of heading to the kitchen.

How is everyone else doing this morning??? I need to get moving. Dogs need to potty and I need coffee!

Have a great morning.....weekend is almost here.

jules1216 11-16-2006 12:09 PM

Just a quickie while I am here at work--it's lunchtime. You girls have been chatty--I be back when I can do a longer post but wanted to stop in and say hi!!!!

FrouFrou 11-16-2006 03:52 PM

Hello ladies and a Happy Thursday to all

Not much going on. I did get my grocery shopping done today, whew! Apparently everyone else decided to do it also. I'm sure there are things I forgot so will have to get more groceries next week. Need to do it early though. I went a little later than usual and there were quite a few people. Not too bad though. I know it will start getting crazy there soon though. We'll have our Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday and then the week after an early Christmas dinner for Josh...I think. Got an e-mail from him and he said he will be coming home soon. He didn't actually say this month or next...don't want to mention dates. So I have been on cloud9! :cloud9: Really have to get some Christmas shopping done for him at least, lol. Went to Michaels also to get a new Christmas wreath...didn't know they were on sale but glad they were. Then stopped by my neighbors house. He is in the National Guard and came hom this past Friday for good. So I gave him a welcome home card and talked with him for a few minutes. Anywho...

MARTI...I know, the holidays are coming too fast for me. Hey, my "new" car is two years old also. I can't believe I have had it two years already. And some days I get in it and can still smell that new car smell...I love it! I've got 17,000 miles on it.

SASSY...that is a pretty car. For some reason though when you said blue I thought of a pastel sort of blue. I almost got a blue myself but changed at the last minute to something I've not had before which is sandstone...kind of brownish. But I like your car, too pretty! I've got the Da Vinci Code book and haven't read it yet and I want to see the movie. heard it was good. I think every movie that I've seen that was made from a book the book was always better for some reason. I loved The Notebook book but only liked the movie.

MARIA...I'm feeling in a rut myself. I know what I should be eating but I'm not doing it. My eating isn't out of control but I am not eating the right foods at all. I am sorry I don't have any words of wisdom to help you out. But we are here for you and I can give you lots of hugs

MS JULES...there you are lady! Was wondering what's up with you and how you are doing.

Hi to everyone else, MICHELLE, JANE, TIFFANY, NORMA, MELODY, SUE, and MARY KATE.

Well, ladies guess I need to get something done around here. Going to spend a few more minutes on the computer and get to work. Take care and I hope everyone is having a good day!
