  • Yup! You did!

So, what exactly is "wrong" with that cream cheese/jello/water cheesecake? I've been thinking about trying it. Do you think it could be "fixed?"

The one with the heavy whipping cream, cream cheese and chocolate pudding mix is heavenly.
  • Just a quick note to tell you all what is going on. Having a very rough few days here. I had a mammogram on Monday, it hurt like I don't know what. My left breast was in agony and is still sore. Today I got a call and have to go back tomorrow to the hospital and have a different test. I am not doing very well, and have been sort of moping around. I have been working but my heart is not in teaching this week. I can't wait to have tomorrow off!

On a better note, congrats to everyone losing! I am reading the posts, just not up to posting much here, sorry! I am happy for you and you did put a smile on my face!
  • Deb, I hope the test goes well and the results turn out fine. Maybe you could of had discomfort because of the time of the month for you? Try not to worry, ok? I will say an extra prayer asking for a white light of protection around you. Let us know what you find out. Know you can ALWAYS come here and share. We are here to support each other through weight loss plus all of the other trials of life.

Okay....Cheryl...your talking cream cheese, jello, pudding...gotta new recipe?
  • Debi-I'm sure everything will be fine. I had the same type of scare last year (minus the pain.) I had to have a needle inserted into my breast to check out a lump. Everything was okay, as I am sure it will be with you. My prayers to you.

Cheryl-I haven't read the challenge board, but congrats on your loss!! I'm so glad you're back to posting both here and the exercise board.

Suzy-I'm glad your Aunt is doing better. Still sending prayers.

Gayle-You are the best, as usual.

    Where's Dear Dee??
  • Shelley as soon as I sat down to my computer I thought of you. I was thinking that you were probably the only one that might be posting at this time and sure enough you did. lol Remember for me this is like the middle of the night because I don't usually get up til 8 or 9.

I thought that I would check in before someone noticed that I was MIA. I had my surgery on tuesday. It was pretty rough and of course when I got there they would not use epenephrin because of my heart. The freezing novacane didn't work well. It would only work about 5 minutes and then I could feel the pain. I will have packing in my mouth til next wednesday. I can't eat alot of foods and I can barely open my mouth. I have graduated to very small bits and pieces of food from just mushy foods. Chocolate melts doesn't it?
I was at the cardiologist today. Everything went well. No changes.

It is our Thanksgiving Weekend. A lot of my family members are going away so there won't be a big dinner together. Since we don't see Larry's family often and don't care to much we have decided to go away. Dez is working and Jay has to big meals on Ashley's side.
We have rented a cottage up at the lake in the woods. It is a beautiful time of year with the leaves changing and it is a full moon tomorrow. We want to watch it rise above the lake.
I will be back home Monday night.

Debi I am sorry to hear that you are going through a stressful time right now. Thanks for sharing with us. You know that we are always here for you. I am praying for you.

Suzy I am glad to hear that Aunt Hazel is doing better. Take care of yourself too, we don't need you to get sick now.

Well I am off to bed again. My pain killers have taken affect and the pain is gone.

Janice if you are reading this have a Happy Thanksgiving and come and post.
  • HAPPY THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY DEE & JANICE!!!!

I'll hop on my turkey and be on over for dinner!

Dee, sorry you were in so much pain and am still suffering through the recovery. Hopefully, you will have a quick healing. I was thinking....you could supplement the chocolate with wine.....it is liquid and has grapes in it, so it has to be good for you! LOL!

Shelley, do you have your test results back yet?????

Smooches! Off to work I go!!!
  • Sending good vibes Debi's way > > > >

Gayle, the recipe I was speaking of is a low-carb dessert that is SO easy to make and tastes wonderful:

    Quick Chocolate Cheesecake

1 pkg. chocolate fudge s/f pudding
    1 c. heavy cream
    3/4 c. cold water
    4 oz. cream cheese

Beat pudding, cream and water until thick. Beat in cream cheese and refrigerate

    This is a wonderful recipe!

One change I made when making recipe the second time was to mix the cream cheese and water before adding pudding mix and cream. I had a problem with the cream cheese blending in well when adding it last.

I've also used the vanilla flavored pudding mix. It's delicious too.

Believe me when I say that this is a staple for me when I'm low-carbing!!!!! This time, however, I haven't indulged in it yet ('though I did buy the ingredients last night ). I'm trying to eat more salads, etc.

Shelley and Dee, glad you both checked in--I'd been wondering where you two chicks were.
  • I waited for 30 minutes after the tests and had my answers! It is calcifications! There are three of them, but they are very close to my body, not out in the middle of the boob, so hard to determine. I had my boob squeezed every which way! Up, down, diagonal! OUCH! I do have to go back in six months, when I will have it repeated. Best news, in six months, they are gone, or might be the same size, which we do nothing. If they have grown at all, I have to decide what I want to do, which I think I would have them removed and be done with it. So looks like I will be on a six month mammo schedule.

Thanks for all your thoughts, prayers and wishes today. I didn't realize how nervous I was, until the dr. said it was really nothing.
  • Debi-Wonderful news!!

Gayle-I thought I had already told you guys. No bone loss at all!! All this exercise must be helping, even if it is crippling my feet!

Cheryl-Wonder how that recipe can be converted to LF. May FF cream cheese, but not sure what could be done with the heavy cream. Any ideas? It sounds so yummy, and could almost be Core if I could figure it out.

Happy Thanksgiving to the Canadian Chickies!!

Dee-I am so sorry! I completely forgot about your surgery. I hope your mouth recovers quickly, although I'm sure the wonderful side affect will be some more lbs. lost.
  • Deb--My sister had some calcifications removed several years ago and they never returned. Best of luck to you.

Shelley--ew, can you eat the FF cream cheese? There are some FF and LF that are wonderful, but when it comes to cream cheese and sour cream, I have to go full fat! Maybe that's why I'm still full of fat!!!LOL

Dee--sorry to hear you're in so much pain. Think smoothies.

My update, I'm 1/2 a pound away from where I was this time last week. I still can't figure out what happened that caused me to gain 2.5 pounds practically overnight. I gained and THEN I ate a few bad things, so it stayed on longer than it should have. I'll be good this week. My inlaws return a week from tomorrow--I have to drop a pound by then!!! Take care everyone and have a great weekend.
  • I found this when I was searching the site today. It's the original chick-a-dees discussing the start of the site to the HUGE growth of the site, the new book and their own personal struggles. Make a point of watching it!

  • Im back !!

I stepped on my Best friends scale this morning and it read 183 , mind you thats with a denim skirt on thats at least 2 lbs heavy so does that mean I am 181? I thought I weighed less than that , to tell ya the truth its a little unmotivating cause i though I was doing better than that , I was getting into my goal jeans easier , my denium skirt I was wearing was way looser...I know I have lost more..... I am going to try and not let that scale bring me down cause it really pissed me off!
  • Vouge, don't get depressed, there are SEVERAL factors that could of played into the scale reading. Here are a few:
**Is this the same scale you originally weighed on? ALL scales weigh differently. Pick one and STAY with it.
    **Did you weigh after eating/drinking?
**Is it close to TOM for you??? Can cause a huge weight gain of fluid.
**You could be retaining fluid because of high sodium foods.
Personally, I would not get upset (HARD TO DO!) over the scale number...go off of what you already said...the clothes are fitting looser etc. PLEASE do not get depressed and start eating! You are doing a GREAT JOB!
  • VOUGE HUG!
  • Hi All,

Congradulations to all you that have a weight loss !!!! VOUGE, CHERYL, ALLISON and any I missed.

HAPPY TURKEY WEEKEND Janice and Dee !!!

DEB- Glad the results were good. Hope you are feeling better now.

Not much new here, still not smoking, but I did gain 2 lbs in the last 3 weeks. It's my own fault, I have not been watching what goes in my mouth. I will be back on program tomorrow morning and get going. I think between not smoking, my home not selling, and my new home sitting down in Arizona waiting for me to close on, it was easy to feed my mouth and emotions. I might end up loosing my $30,000 if I can't close soon. The listing is up in 2 weeks and I don't know if I will re-list. I might try it myself and spend the money on ads and be able to drop the price AGAIN !! It's such a tough market in Michigan right now, and with elections in less then 30 days people here are nervous about spending money.

Well take care all, glad unt HAzel is better Suzy.
