The Winning Losers- Week of 9/3/06

I started up this weeks new thread. I hope that's allright.

:)

sapphire35 09-03-2006 09:15 AM

GoodMorning:carrot: :carrot: :carrot:

Thank you so much AQua, I have fixed my PM problem. Thanks for starting this thread.

I hope your weekened is going good so far. I am getting ready to attempt my 8 minute taebo tape and then some pilates.:carrot:

Amany 09-03-2006 09:25 AM

Morning everyone!!!

Aqua Thank you for starting a new thread! It's fine by me. I don't think it really matters who starts it. I guess just whomever logs in first on Sunday. :)
I liked NY too. She was a little nuts, but there's no way she would have done what some of these other ladies are doing. As weird as she was, she seemed to have a certain classiness. I can certainly understand why her mother wanted to bring her home though! If it had been one of my nieces, I would have kidnapped her. Snuck her out while the producers and Big Rick weren't looking!

Sapphire - Welcome back chicky! I'm sorry. :( It's my fault. I brought up Flav. I just couldn't help it. Don't know what I was thinking. Maybe one day I can get the help I need... ;)
Hey, three days is nothing to sneeze at. It's an excellent start. You'll build on from there. Yeah, I know you're gonna get us. Aqua, Bonnie, Danielle and me. The exercise bug is biting. ;) I'm glad because exercise is crucial. I don't know if it's true, but I read somewhere that not exercising is as bad for your heart as smoking a pack of cigarettes a day. I don't really buy into that, but reading it did make me think of how the heart could be helped tremendously be exercising. Exercise can lower the heart rate and allow our hearts to function without having to work as hard.
My goal is to run five minute miles. I have a long way to go, but that's what I want. When I was in high school two track coaches begged me to run cross-country. I could run fast too, but they didn't need sprinters. Everyone wanted to be a sprinter on the track team. But I would never join the track team. I just liked running. I would just get on the track and run about 3 miles when I was in high school just because I felt like it. It wasn't even a big deal and I loved doing it.
Let us know if you do any of the rock climbing. I've always wanted to try it.

I'll check in a little later. I'm a bit sore after yesterdays workout. I love it! It's a good soreness.

I hope everyone enjoys the holiday. We're supposed to go to my parents' tomorrow. Today there's a Bridezillas marathon that starts at 10. I love, love, love that show.

n2luvnlife 09-03-2006 09:31 AM

Wanted to say Hi to all my chickadees. I won't be back until tomorrow night. I will check back in later tomorrow. Have a great Holiday!

TTFN:hug:

AquaChick 09-03-2006 09:58 AM

:coffee: Good Morning Ladies!!!!
:sunny:
sapphire35- Hi! You're welcome. :) Good for you!!! You're already getting that heart pumping and the fat is melting right off!!! :carrot: I hope your weekend will be relaxing and wonderful!

Amany- Yeah, NY was one of the better ones for sure. I love that soreness too! I feel accomplished for a little while. Guess what? I bought Billy Blanks Boot Camp last night!!! I got a 2 DVD thing. One is cardio Boot camp, one is lower body boot camp. I'm gonna add both to my daily tread. Speaking of smoking, my neighbors smoke outside. No problem, but my windows are open and it comes right into my livingroom (where my treadmill is) Reminds me of Ms. Stone again. Have a pastrami sandwich, carrot cake, and a smoke then go walk two miles and blame the heart condition..... Why did I just start on that? Oh well, when that comes on later I hope she will get some help and crack down on herself. I just don't know if she's really got her heart into losing weight. You know how that goes, you know when you're really in it for real. I just don't see that "fever" in her.

n2luvnlife- Hi hon! Look forward to seeing you tomorrow. :)

DeborahB 09-03-2006 11:52 AM

Wow! I'm amazed at the volume of posts this group has! I'm new to this but will try to post at least once per week.

I weighed in this morning at 217.6--very pleased about that. Still working on increasing my average intake of water to 100 ounces per day. Have a great week everyone (I'll weigh myself Wednesday morning, but might not be able to post until the weekend.)

AquaChick 09-03-2006 12:24 PM

DeborahB- Hi! :) Yep, we are chatterboxes around these parts, but it keeps us motivated to do what we set out to do. Don't feel intimidated by how much we gab- just jump right in whenever you feel like it! I know just about every woman has the gift of gab... ;)

Happy to hear about your weigh in. You're right, water is a very good thing.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend too! Take care!

Hun.e.B.- Thanks for the link up!

Hun.e.B 09-03-2006 12:44 PM

Good Sunday morning everyone!! Is this weekend flying by? Good thing its a 3-dayer! Today will be homework day for me, dh is supposed to take the girls to the waterpark. My goal is to get a walk in today too! There is absolutely no reason not to! Besides I gotta start crankin out some exercise minutes for the challenge. Otherwise you ladies are gonna leave me in the dust!

Sara...I'm glad to hear that it was just a miscommunication on your neighbor walking with someone else. I would have felt the same way though. Keep on walking girl!! You are doing great!

Tricia...good to see you again!! Have you been back to classes for a week now? I was so ready to go back its been nice, now I get to send my girls back this week! The summer just got too long for me, but I didnt take summer classes either! I hope everything is going GREAT for you!! Keep making those babysteps!

Aqua...you are so on the ball!! thanks so much for getting us going right this morning! Have you read the "character" bios on vh1 website for flav? OMG its funny! I have the SAME problem with my neighbors! Drives me insane! We live in a duplex and my bedroom window is right below the front doors where they smoke and at night we like to open the window and put a fan in it, so it blows the smoke into our room. GRRR it makes me so mad!

Amanda...did dh enjoy his concert last night? Little richard..that is eclectic! LOL...he's so funny on that singing show as a judge! Would you believe I've never watched all of starwars? none of em?

Trish...3 days of exercise is still 3 days!!! dont sell yourself short!! You did GREAT!!! And you can build from there!! Keep on rocking girl!

Hi Lori....we miss you! Hurry back!!

Deborah...HELLO!!! Its so great to see you again! We are a chatty bunch but thats what makes us so great!! Besides there is strength in numbers! The more people you've got standing behind you cheering you on, the better you are going to do and the stronger you'll be!!! Congrats on the loss!!!! Yay!!! See you are doing something right!!! Keep up the good work!!! You are shrinking!!

You know what I love about our group I think Amanda touched on this before, but I love how smooth it is for new people to just jump right in and its like they were always here. And I love that there is no leader, noone up there trying to tell us all what to do and how to do it, we are just friends, working together and walking across that finish like arm in arm! Danielle and I were in a group years ago, it was such an amazing group but I was the leader, well me and another girl. When I look back at it now...it was so stressful! And if I didnt do something the group stalled. Here, we all work together to keep things flowing and I just LOVE that! Okay done being corny! LOL!!

I hope everyone has the best day today!!! I'll be off reading finance, philosophy and accounting...whoopie! LOL!!

AquaChick 09-03-2006 01:35 PM

Hun.e.B- Thanks! :) I love it here too. I think what I needed was to be part of a team. I didn't know it until I got here, but it was the best thing I've done in a while. I don't think that's corny at all. Losing weight is so hard. Physically and emotionally. Having somewhere to turn to where people are doing the same thing let's us know we are normal, the struggle is real, but we can overcome it.
I did indeed read the bios. :D Too funny. I watched "driven" on VH1 this morning, and it was about Flavor Flav. It was pretty good. He is a cool guy, and talented- but there is no way I would do what these goldigg- er, I mean girls are doing. lol... nope. I do not believe all of them think Flav's hot. Come on... he has something to offer in terms of having humor and talent, but speaking for myself physical attraction is never going to be there. Bah, TV. I got sucked right into that show.

miafluker 09-03-2006 02:32 PM

hi guys how is everyone yep ill be watching flavor of love tonight.
anyway it feels like a great start for the new week even though my mine do not officially start until monday.....? i have a bad habit of skipping meals, sometimes im just not hungry do anyone else go through this? i watched the discovery health channel and it was about a lady who lost alot of weight by eating her dinner in the am and her breakfast in the pm i kind of lost the concept of that... i thought about trying the 6 week body makeover concept basically portein and fruit for breakfast and snack, protein carb & for lunch and pm snack then protien carb and veggie for dinner.... but im not sure about it i may just stick the the weight watchers... anyway back to my original ? is it really that bad to not eat when your not hungry? i mean alot of weight loss pills are suppose to decrease appetite i know phentermine completly takes away your appetite so im a little confused i get really discouraged when i miss a meal

sorry so long......

Sugar-N-Spice 09-03-2006 02:40 PM

Good Afternoon Gang!

You guys have been chatty this morning! Aqua thanks for starting us off right this morning!!!

I was a VERY naughty girl last night, mexican food..'nuff said! It was very very good, and I have to be honest, I didn't exactly watch myself on any of it. lol Today's a new day and all that, so I'm fine with it. I had planned on taking today off from working out, but I figure with all the crap I ate last night, probably best to just get going with something and try and minimize the damage. I am just relieved that I don't hurt everywhere anymore!
I do have to say that yesterday all day (up until dinner that is, lol), I was really paying attention to hungry pangs and just urges to eat cause I was idle. Makes a huge difference! I am still a major work in progress with this though, learning what real hunger is does not come easy to me. PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION is my motto! :)

Everyone have a super afternoon! Busy getting dh off to work here in a minute so I best get goin. Talk to you soon!

Hun.e.B 09-03-2006 02:56 PM

Good Afternoon! I got almost all of the shopping done for the PTA teachers breakfast, costco is closed tomorrow so had to do it today. Which is okay gives me all day tomorrow to cut up all that fruit. i couldnt believe how expensive oranges were!!

Aqua...I agree with you, in my opinion to find a mate there has to first be an attraction, I'm not saying that you cant be attracted to his energy or his personality but for the long haul..cmon! Ha...golddigg..er girls! You crack me up! How many calories does laughing burn?

Mia...I think the deal with not eating when you are hungry is to learn to listen to your body. Your body will tell you when its time to eat. And with alot of supplements people are looking for something to help them to never eat. Well your body needs fuel. You'll do nothing but burn your lean muscle tissue and retain all the fat you can if you dont eat at all. I'm a big believer that if you arent hungry why eat...I wish I practiced that more often. But at the same time you do gotta make sure you are eating something. And also, if you wait until you are HUNGRY then you run the risk of overeating. You just gotta find the right balance. I tried phentermine years ago and it didnt work for me. But I was on another medication at the same time that most likely counteracted it. I had a friend who lost about 30 lbs with phentermine. So did that confuse you some more? LOL!

Danielle...you ate your birthday dinner...there is no guilt in that!! I'm glad you enjoyed it!! Today is a new day, onward and downward!!

Alright, I'm off to the nursury to find a nice little plant for 12 new teachers at our school and then off to find 400 ice cream cones for the PTA ice cream social...oh and did I mention I've got homework coming out my ears?! LOL!! have a lovely afternoon!

~melissa

AquaChick 09-03-2006 04:17 PM

miafluker- I confess, I typically only eat dinner these days. I don't feel like eating so I don't. Oh, I'll be watching Flavor of Love!!!

Sugar-N-Spice- aw, you're welcome.... I love Mexican food too, so I feel ya on that! Like you say, progress, not perfection.

Hun.e.B- Laughing... hmm, not sure! I like to laugh though, so I like that!

Sugar-N-Spice 09-03-2006 04:25 PM

Go ahead---Laugh yourself skinny!!

Found this article on laughing burning calories. Interesting......

Amany 09-03-2006 04:55 PM

:cb:
I completed another six day exercise week!!!
:cb:

Monday: Donna Richardson's 30 Days to Firmer Arms and Abs & Leslie Sansone Walk and Jog.

Tuesday Donna Richardson's 30 Days to Firmer Arms and Abs, Leslie Sansone Walk and Jog & Pilates for Abs

Wednesday:faint:

Thursday - 1.5 Miles on my lunch hour

Friday - Leslie Sansone Walk and Jog

Saturday :drill: Harvey Walden's Fighting Fit,Fighting Fat :drill: & Pilates for Abs

Today 45 minutes of shadow boxing and jogging in place in intervals

I'll have to seriously step things up next week, but I'm still proud of myself!! :)

I saw today's episode of Flavor of Love. I don't want to ruin it for those who haven't watched yet. All I will say is that he got rid of one of the women that got on my nerves. There are two more I'd love to see go. One is a really combative one (she got the first clock this time) and a trashy one. But I guess most of them could be considered trashy!

Hi Lori! Great to see you!

Aqua - I don't see a determined spirit in Angie either. It's like what Ted was yelling about last week. None of this is easy. 3 pounds.... 6 pounds... 4 pound.... None of it is easy. And no one can have it done for them. At least not in a way that's healthy.
I'm with you on Flav! If you were having a fun get together, you'd want him there. He's funny, full of personality and just the life of the party. I even get the feeling that he's a genuinely nice guy. But no way is he hot! I think he's sort of old to like all that drama though. But, he's getting paid for it. Plus he's enjoying more fame than he's ever had before, so I'm sure it's more than worth it to him.
I agree that we have a fabulous group of ladies. It does my heart good to have a group of people helping me celebrate my successes. It also motivates me and makes me feel good to hear of those people who cheer me on having their own success as well. I love it all.

:welcome: Deborah! - You can post whenever you want. We're really glad to have you. You're going to to absolutely fall in love with us. :) Congrats on the weight loss!

Melissa - Our busiest chick!! I hope you're taking your vitamins!
I also love that we don't have a leader. Just a group of great ladies encouraging and supporting one another.
My husband came back about 15 minutes after he left. It was just raining too much. He was sort of crushed. He's never been able to see Little Richard in concert, and since he's in his 80s, who knows if he'll tour again? He actually wanted Little Richard to marry us. He had me write to him. I got an autographed photo from his fan club

Hi Mia - I think that you should not force yourself to eat, but if it's been hours, maybe have a small healthy snack. Just to keep your metabolism going and to prevent your body from burning lean muscle like Melissa said.
I'm not that knowledgeable about suppressants. Sorry.

Danielle Ah.... Mexican. Good stuff! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I think of birthdays and holidays like Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter as free days.
"Progress not perfection.". I like that!

Well, ma'ladies, I think I'm starting to feel better. I haven't seen the outside since Friday though! It's bugging the heck out of my husband that all I want to do is stay in. I'm going to leave the house on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, but I'm enjoying just bumming around right now. Most of the day I've been watching the Bridezilla marathon. It surprises me that some of these couples still end up getting married. This one woman had her husband to be in tears. Literally. I mean the man was boo-hooing.

I'll check in a little later. Bye everyone!

TriciaK 09-03-2006 05:22 PM

Happy Sunday!!!!

I cannot believe that is already 515 on Sunday evening... I will tell you the days do fly by....I was just thinking how much I am going to miss the BBQ. We are having BBQ chicken and grilled asparagus for dinner.... then there is basically no clean-up(BEST PART)... I don't know what I will do when I have to go back to cleaning the forman grill:mad:

Hun.e.B. -- actually I just started on Friday, but we havent been able to get into the school because they discovered that there was mold in 10 of the classrooms and the football team room. I am supposed to check the website to find out if we got a clean bill of health this weekend. So fingers are crossed. I cannot stand that my classroom is not ready to go and since I new to the school, I have been driving around with a ton of school supplies in my back seat...no fun. I could have used a bit more summer. I was in grad school Monday thru Thursday until august 4.. I think I would have been okay if this week hadn't been so miserable.

Amanda-- I too already watched the episode... and I must admit there are others I would have prefered to say adios to... I do wonder where they find some of these women...Also, you had previously mentioned bridezilla...I checked all over today for the marathon... what channel is that show on..I was dying to see it. Congrats on doing so much working out. I am hoping that I can get myself in gear once I officially start back at school.

Talk to you all soon... :carrot:

Butterfly50 09-03-2006 05:27 PM

Hello Deborah and welcome to our group. Jest a quick note that I will be back hopefully tomorrow Have not been on plan for two days so much going on here will be back in the am and ready for the plan again.

AquaChick 09-03-2006 05:40 PM

Butterfly50- Hi!!! Hope all is well today!!!

TriciaK - I love BBQ too! Got some football stuff coming up....*shaking* Gonna be reallllyyy hard to let go of the rib...lol...

Sugar-N-Spice- That's the best news I've had all day!!!! Now quick... tell some jokes!!!!

http://danworona.50megs.com/shopping_page.html

If there is anything innapprriate on this link I apologize. I read a few things and thought they were funny, but didn't read them all.

50 WAYS TO LEAVE YOUR BLUBBER (to the tune of "50 ways to leave your lover" by Paul Simon)
(THE DIETERS NATIONAL ANTHEM)

THE PROBLEM IS NOT INSIDE YOUR HEAD, SHE SAID AGAIN.
THE ANSWER IS EASY IF YOU'D ONLY JUST BEGIN.
I'D LIKE TO HELP YOU IN YOUR STRUGGLE TO BE THIN.
THERE MUST BE FIFTY WAYS TO LEAVE YOUR BLUBBER.

SHE SAID IT'S REALLY NOT MY HABIT TO INTRUDE
FURTHERMORE I HOPE MY MEANING WON'T BE LOST OR MISCONSTRUED.
SO I REPEAT MYSELF, AT THE RISK OF BEING CRUEL,
THERE MUST BE FIFTY WAYS TO LEAVE YOUR BLUBBER.
FIFTY WAYS TO LEAVE YOUR BLUBBER.

JUST EAT A LITTLE LESS, BESS; ELIMINATE THE FAT, PAT
IF YOU WANT TO BE THIN, LYNN, JUST LISTEN TO ME.

JUST HOP OFF THE COUCH, RALPH; GO FOR A BIKE, MIKE.
IF YOU WANT TO BE SMALL, PAUL, JUST LISTEN TO ME.

JUST STEP ON THAT BENCH, WENCH; FORGET ABOUT RYE, GUY.
IF YOU WANT TO BE LEAN, JEAN, JUST LISTEN TO ME.

JUST CLIMB UP A HILL, BILL; GO FOR A SKATE, KATE.
IF YOU WANT TO BE SLIM, KIM, JUST LISTEN TO ME.

Amany- Way to go on the workouts!!! Wow!!!:carrot: You are a video kinda person, huh? I can see why now, since I got myself a DVD. I LOVE Billy Blanks. He is really motivating. You better hang on woman!!! I'm steppin' up my game too! :lifter: Sapphire said this morning she coming after us too, so the friendly competition should be good. :D Are you doing the body measurement thing for September? I'm gonna go for it (that's why all the "competitive" talk ;) ). I put my ,measurements up last night, and we are using our workout minutes as a tie breaker if there is a tie.

Ack! I thought I was gonna have to cover my eyes because I didn't see F.O.L. Yet!!! lol.... I can't wait!!!! The thing I like most about Flav is that what he asks for is not complex. All he wants is someone who is honest. Basically, I see him having them do silly stuff for show, but when he talks to them he asks them a question and only wants honest and diect responses. Like, he asked Crazy at KFC if she could see herself with him, and she said she could see herself "happy". :?: And he said, "that's not what I asked you..." I notice stuff like that all the time that shows me what these chicks are about. Competition, money, and getting on TV, and possibly to meet Flav for his celebrity. I can understand that aspect because you can't really fall in love this way, but they could at least tell him the truth. They saw the show before, and if they were smart they could play that card easy if they wanted to win the compretition. Don't fight with the other girls, and talk to Flav like a buddy you trust. They try to hard to prove their "love" and it backfires... lol...

I haven't seen Bridezilla! The title reminds me of my Dad's girlfiend though... she is trying sooo hard to force him into marriage. I think she's nuts and makes my Dad unhappy, but I only say so when he's really upset with her. Can't tell a grown man what's best for him, but he'll know if he gives in and marries her. I bet she just wants someone to support her. I hate women that play head games (and men- but a lot of women are pretty bad about head games). Oh well, like I told my Dad, plenty of sweet loving angel fish in the sea. No need to get stuck with a carp.

Amany 09-03-2006 06:32 PM

Tricia - Oh yeah. There are definitely some other ladies Flav should get rid of. Bridezillas is on the WE channel.
Don't worry. Everything will fall into place. You'll hit your stride. Work, school, exercise. Work, school, exercise. :)

Hey Bonnie. Don't worry about being off plan for right now. You're in a stressful situation. It's temporary though. Glad you got a chance to check in. See ya tomorrow chicky!

Aqua - I love your humor! It's hard not to worry about the choices family members make. I hope your dad is able to find a good woman who makes him happy.
Uh oh... If you're stepping up your game then I need to get on the ball major! I have to keep up with you. I don't even own 5 pound handweights, let alone work out with them. I was just thinking the other day that I need to get some 4 pound ones.
Yeah, videos are sort of a staple for me. I love the other stuff like skating, water aerobics (until my skin protested) and I really want to tackle those stairs and eventually the track. But with a video, I can be as versatile as I'd like and they are perfect for homebodies like me. :D
I'm not going to do the challenge. I'm going to sit it out and be a spectator. I do think it's a great idea and I'll be cheering you guys on. I think we'll see some serious fat melting and body toning over the next month.
I have Fifty Ways to Leave Your Lover downloaded. Now I'm going to have to listen to it. The song is in my head now.
Let me know how you like the Billy Blanks. I only have his first workout video.

I'm off for now. BBL!!

Sugar-N-Spice 09-03-2006 08:46 PM

Good evening ladies. I hope everyone has had a great weekend so far. I did a wholel of nuthin today it seems. LOL I watched a Flip That House marathon while I folded laundry and that's about it for my day. OH, yeah I did get in about 30 min. on the bike too so I guess not all is lost. Being very laid back feels weird to me, I am usually focused on cleaning cleaning cleaning if I'm home on the weekends. Just didnt wanna this time it seems. LOL

Lori, it was great to see you, can't wait to hear what you've been up to!

Bonnie, I was sad to read about what's been happening with your family. That is really a tough situation to be in--coming from the step side of it all. I personally don't think you are being harsh or overly expectant. I think maybe a good sit down would be in order to see if maybe he can get a clue? Maybe he honestly just doesn't get it? In any case, i really hope that you don't let this stress you too much more so you can get back on track with your great exercise and eating plan. Remember hon, YOU matter too!

Tricia, hey ya chicky! I cannot believe whats going on at school!! Yowza that is some serious stuff, ain't it? Dont stress too much hon, it's not your fault that you can't do your room up right just yet. You can only do so much! Hang in there, soon enough the ball will get rollin and you'll wish you didnt have to go in at all. LOL I love love love bbq! Unfortunately living in a condo we've only got those community typa grills which I refuse to use. So. I have an indoor grill that is just awesome. I must use that thing every other day if not more, and I've been thru 3 of them. lol At least you have good ole George to keep you going thru the winter months, right? ;)

Aqua, you crack me up. Now that song has been in my head ever since I read your post a while ago. lol I guess anything is better than Justine Timberlake's song that's been etched into my brain for 2 weeks now! :dancer:

Trish, how's that exercise going lady? You & me both lady we have some catching up to do with the other girls. We'll catch 'em don't you worry. ;)

Amanda, WTG on another stellar week of exercise!!!!! Truly inspirational I tell ya. You put me to shame with all the stuff you're doing, wow. Impressive!! Yeah, the mexican food was great but today I am a hungry bear! I agree, at the holidays I make no exceptions for being "bad" with food. I learned a while back that forbidding it at holiday time only made me want it that much more so we just go for it. Works alot better! See, now you guys got me all curious, even tho I swore I wouldn't watch this season of Flav. Now I gotta watch it, i feel left out!

Deborah, you're doing amazing!!!!! Congrat's on the loss sweetie! :carrot: Jump in whenever you can, never hesitate. This is the best group of girls even if we talk alot. lol Can't wait to hear what you're up to next time!

I think I am going to attempt one of Jillian Michael's dvd's tonight. I am feeling motivated (thanks girls ;) ) to try it since it's only been sitting on my shelf for the last 3 months! Have I told you just how devistated I am that she isn't doing Biggest Loser anymore? lol Her and Bob had such a great chemistry and really brought out the best in eachother. I only hope this new "Barbie" can do her justice and make me want to keep watching.

I can't believe another day is almost over, time is flying!!!!

AquaChick 09-03-2006 09:29 PM

Amany- I think you all are a blast! Joking around lightens the mood on a tough journey. :)

I see you decided to go on ahead and play the game with us... :D I'm glad you changed your mind! I think it will be fun to see the stats week by week. I need to be doing that anyway.

I have "50 ways to leave your lover" downloaded too, in fact, I was listening to it one night with the headphones on and my husband walked by and read the title. He gave me such a funny look!

Sugar-N-Spice- My weekend has been good so far. :) Glad you're getting a chance to relax.

I've had "Hollaback Girl" stuck in my head. I always thought that song was an oxymoron. She says "I ain't no hollaback girl" but the whole dang song she hollerin' back at some chick.... Oh well. I worry about these things too much...

lovethatsara 09-03-2006 09:43 PM

Oh my god I'm tired! I went with my Avon upline Leticia to go blanketing areas with our brochures and we walked and boy did I get a work out. We were walking uphill not sure how smart that was to do in the heat but I am glad I got an extra workout in there. I'm exhausted after that we went grocery shopping and I bought a bunch of low-cal low fat snacks. and a couple other things i wanted to try like the V8 tropical drinks. I really wanna try that so i bought it.

AquaChick 09-03-2006 11:09 PM

lovethatsara- Wow! Good walk! That's so good. Uphill, you might be sore tomorrow, but like Amany says- it's a good sore!

Amany 09-03-2006 11:51 PM

Danielle is catchin Flav Fever!! You won't believe the women they have on this time. They are really skanky. My husband said it's like they rounded up as many hood rats and strippers as they could.
Don't sell yourself short with the exercise lady. You've been doing some amazing stuff lately. You'll have a new, sleek body in no time.
I'm going to have to check out BL. Has it started yet?
Sometimes a lazy weekend is in order. The only time I've been outside since Friday was when I walked to Walgreen's earlier this evening to get a couple of gallons of Diet Arizona Iced Tea.

Aqua - Yes I joined. I was thinking about how we're a team. How can I be a part of the team and not participate with what the team does? We should all be doing it together.
I've only ever listened to the chorus of Hollaback Girl. Now, I'll have to listen to the whole dang thing. It bugs me when songs are contradictory too. I'm glad I'm not the only one!

Wow Sara! - That sounded like a great walk. You go girl! Pretty soon you'll be craving exercise. If you're not already!

Well, it's time for me to say good night. I'm so sleepy. Seeya tomorrow chickies!!!

AquaChick 09-04-2006 06:12 AM

:coffee: Good Morning Ladies!!!!:sunny:

Amany- That is so cool that this is why you decided to do the measurement thing. I think it will be good for all of us. Whoever thought of measuring ourselves, that was a good idea. A lot of times we get all mad at the scale, but our bodies are changing so we don't take into account how much we are shrinking. Density isn't the only way to measure our success.

I'm about to tread!!!! Yes, it's 5:07 A.M. Central time!!!! :carrot: :woops:

Yeah, Hollaback girl....

http://www.lyricsdomain.com/7/gwen_s...back_girl.html

Uh huh, this is my ____
All the girls stomp your feet like this

A few times I've been around that track
So it's not just gonna to happen like that
Because I ain't no hollaback girl
I ain't no hollaback girl

Ooooh ooh, this my _____, this my ____

I heard that you were talking ____
And you didn't think that I would hear it
People hear you talking like that, getting everybody fired up
So I'm ready to attack, gonna lead the pack
Gonna get a touchdown, gonna take you out
That's right, put your pom-poms downs, getting everybody fired up

A few times I've been around that track
So it's not just gonna to happen like that
Because I ain't no hollaback girl
I ain't no hollaback girl

Ooooh ooh, this my ____, this my ___

So that's right dude, meet me at the bleachers
No principals,no student-teachers
Both of us want to be the winner, but there can only be one
So I'm gonna fight, gonna give it my all
Gonna make you fall, gonna sock it to you
That's right I'm the last one standing, another one bites the dust

A few times I've been around that track
So it's not just gonna to happen like that
Because I ain't no hollaback girl
I ain't no hollaback girl

Ooooh ooh, this my ____, this my ____

Let me hear you say this ____ is bananas
B-A-N-A-N-A-S
(This ____ is bananas)
(B-A-N-A-N-A-S)

A few times I've been around that track
So it's not just gonna to happen like that
Because I ain't no hollaback girl
I ain't no hollaback girl

Ooooh ooh, this my ____, this my ____

Hmmm, sounds like she's saying she's gonna do a lot of stuff (Am I wrong or is that not hollerin' back?) Just whip her butt and get it over with Gwen. Less talk more action.... lol....

~melissa

thanks that makes since i was feeling the every 3 to 4 hour thing is kinda of crazy especially if your not hungry

Hun.e.B 09-04-2006 11:40 AM

Good Monday Morning everyone! Busy day for us here, tomorrow is my girls' first day back to school and my debut as PTA president. We've got loads to do today and we'd like to take a dip in the lake too but not sure if we'll go since its so smokey today.

Did everyone see that the croc hunter was killed? Very sad, we loved him here. I guess when you flirt with danger sooner or later its gonna catch up to you. Kinda like us and our extra weight. Just something to think about!

Okay I'm getting yelled at, gotta get going to haircuts!! Have a great day everyone I'll be back to check on you later today!! Happy Labor Day!

~melissa

miafluker 09-04-2006 11:47 AM

thats sad melissa

hey did anyone catch flavor of love last night it was messed up he let its like that go she probably would have been the one to treat him the best.. i did admire her confidence though was i the only one excited and clapping when the special guest turned out to be new york? this should be funny

AquaChick 09-04-2006 12:42 PM

Hun.e.B- Yeah, I saw that Croc Hunter was killed. I feel so bad for his family, but I'm certain he knew he might go out like that one day. When you flirt with disaster enough it is bound to catch up to you. I hope it was quick and painless. The babrb on the stingray went through his heart, so it was probably very quick.
:(

Good luck with all the P.T.A. doings. You seem like a very loving and involved parent. :) I respect that so much!

miafluker- Hi! I wasn't too crazy about Like That. She busted Buckwild for being fake (which she probably is), but I wasn't impressed with Like That jumping in the pool with her clothes on and stuff. She seemed to be trying awfully hard (aka being fake) to get the attention of Flav's friends. She also made Buckwild cry, so she felt bad and was trying to mother her- but then when the camera and her were alone she was telling a tale of sticking to her guns about disliking Buckwilds fakeness. What I did find upsetting though on Like That's behalf was Flav laughing about her size, and the size of her lingerie behind her back. She was there to do the same thing as the other girls and she just wanted her time with Flav- which she was hurt she wasn't getting. I'm glad he said he didn't want to lead her on, but when she saw that episode it probably truly hurt her feelings.

Aaaaaammmmmaaaaaaannnnnyyyyyyy!!!!!!! Are you okay today? I hope so!!

Amany 09-04-2006 01:33 PM

Hi Ma'Ladies.

Aqua - Hey there. We've been running around all day and we just finished eating. Our wagon had a flat, so we had to go out and find some place that was open get a new tire. Then we ended up getting two.
After that we went to Kmart to pick up a "few things". Now we're about $130 lighter. That's always the way, isn't it? I made us some salads when we got back. I have to say that I'm proud of my husband for making some adjustments in his eating habits as well. But I'm also jealous. He's made half-hearted efforts, drinks a little less beer and does about 20 - 30 minutes of shadow boxing in the mornings. But he's lost 22 pounds in the past five weeks! Damn man! It's always easier for them isn't it?
Like That on Flavor of Love bothered me. Yeah, Buckwild might be fake, but all she had to do was avoid her if she didn't like her. It's like she made busting Buckwild her pet project. Why? Plus I can't stand those annoying "pseudo-deep" people. I also thought she was really desperate. Like jumping in the pool to get attention and then showing her lingerie to Flav so he could see what she had for him. Goodness gracious, did you see the way she was eating and drinking out of that milk jug?! Yuck! That was gross. I'd love to see Nibbles and that argumentative one leave. I think her name is Boots. These women are so trashy!
BTW, what dedication you have! Treading at 5 in the morning! You really want this bad, and I'm glad you're going to have it. I know you are.

Mia - You're probably right. I didn't care for Like That, but she probably would have treated him better than those other ladies. Just like NY or Goldie from last season would have treated him better. I just loved, loved, loved Goldie!
BTW, I was glad to see NY walk in too.

Melissa - Good grief woman! I wish I had your kind of energy. I'm sure you're one of those super organized people. All I have is my husband and there are times that I wonder, with all the attention he needs, if we should even have children! Let alone PTA and school! You're downright admirable!

Well, I need to straighten up a bit before we go to my parents'. Being with my family is always tricky. I'll either have a very good time or a very bad one. We'll see...

Have a great day ladies. BBL

Sugar-N-Spice 09-04-2006 02:46 PM

Happy Labor Day! Getting a late start in here today, stayed up late watching movie with dh last night. Then I get up this morning our internet server is down, and still is now! Ggrrrr. I'm using my Blackberry so I will do my best to remember what everyone said, if I don't now please forgive me, its not intentional. Just this stupid thing is very hard to keep scrolling all over the place.

Aqua, how was your tread this morning? I used to love working out super early waaaayy back in the day when I was a lot more fit than now. Something about the peace & quiet, no kiddies running around-no noise! It was Melissa who thought to put measurements, I'm sure. She is big proponent for measurements as I am. I've always said, I would rather "look" smaller and actually weigh more than vice versa! LOL

Mia, how ya doin hon? Girls gave you some good advice about eating, I hope it helps!

Melissa, the honorary chicken with your head cut off. LOL something always about that day right before school starts! And then after they go and don't wind up needing half of what you thought, end up sitting there wondering what all the hoopla was! Of course my thinking always goes to, what if I don't get it and then they end up needing it--always my luck! LOL I hope it goes smoothly today and you get that swim at the lake. What a great way that would be to end the weekend!

SO. I worked out today. I started out with the intention of just doing a WATP 1mile express and then maybe the bike later....well, once the 1mile was done I just started the 2miler that's on the disc and did that too. So + did 3miles walking today. And lemme tell ya that little stretchy band thingy that you use with it is very deceiving! Great upper arm workout for sure! I tried a Jillian dvd last night-OH. MY. GOSH. This is 2 discs, one for frontal and one for the back areas. I barely got thru 1 min and then I quit I was miserable. Jillian's just gonna have to wait along with "miss cardiopilates"! Ugh! I was pretty proud that I tried it though and gave it at least 10.

AquaChick 09-04-2006 04:17 PM

Amany- Good to see you!!! Wow! I know exacly what you mean about the hubby. Mine can drop 10 pounds if he takes a fiber pill.... It ain't right.
I know what you mean about the money too. Seems like it's always something.
She did act nasty when she was eating. Flav eats nasty too, so I don't know if he would care about that. Mmm mmm mmm, the next episode is going going to be good!

My tread was good, but I didn't do 60 minutes straight. I did 30, then another 30 later...
I hope the time with your family will be great!:)

Sugar-N-Spice- Hi! My tread was nice, and yes that is a bonus to getting up early. No one to run in the way.... I love the measurements thing. I'm glad she thought of it.

Great job on the workout!!! Wow, 3 miles is really good! I'm giving you a carrot...:carrot:

Hun.e.B 09-04-2006 04:24 PM

Good Afternoon everyone!! Well haircuts are done and they turned out fantastic! I'm so happy to have found someone who knows what the heck they are doing. Got shoes and got of easy! I just remember I gotta go to walmart, oh how I hate that store! I cant wait till I'm rich enough that I dont have to shop there. But I dont have anything to put all that fruit in that I gotta cut up! Okay done whining LOL!!

I'm gonna get a walk in today girls...I'm gonna do it!!! If I dont, there must be a consequence. Just not sure what yet!

Mia...I really kinda liked like dat...although I didnt understand her alot LOL! But she seemed like a nice girl, not right for this show though. I didnt like Flav making fun of her size behind her back like that. Next week should be fun with NY coming back!

Aqua..how's your day going? measurements is where its at! thats the proof right there, there is no denying your waist being 2 inches smaller, the scale being down 2 lbs you cant tell.

Sara...way to go on that walk!!! Getting some work done and working out!! couldnt get any better than that! I hope today is going great for you!

Danielle!! You rock that exercise girl!! You need to start kicking my butt into doing it!! I've heard those bands are great! Babysteps and pretty soon you'll be rocking it right along with ol jillian!

Alright, here I go again!! Keep on shining losers! LOL!!

AquaChick 09-04-2006 04:37 PM

Hun.e.B- Hi! :) I love to buy things at Wal Mart- what I hate are the massive crowds of people constantly streaming along. It's hard to even stop and look at something. People want to get by, so you can't just enjoy browsing... erg....
Was that your idea for measuremnts? Brilliant. I am more well behaved now than ever before just knowing I have to re post those. Thank you.
Enjoy your walk!

Sugar-N-Spice 09-04-2006 05:44 PM

Amanda, I hope that your visit with the parental units was a good one. There are many days when I'm glad that I live 400+ miles away from mine! My mother usually end up driving me nuts or making me extra angry. I still don't understand how she feels justified talking to me like I'm 12 and don't know anything. Anyways, didn't hear from her on my b-day which is no new news there, but still....sometimes I wonder what makes her tick sometimes! Men drop weight without trying its pathetic. My dh had recently started just cutting portions and nothing else, darnit if he didn't drop about 15lbs in the last 3 weeks! He didn't even have to give anything up! they are the devil those men!
I am SO glad that you joined us on the challenge! You deserve to see those changes to chicky!

Aqua, you are doing great with that walking! I really wish I had a treadmill but have no idea where I'd put it!lol

Mel, glad the haircuts worked out for you! I am so happy to have my Kenny, he's a true talent and I love knowing that he would never send me out of there looking like an idiot. KWIM? He gives the best cuts for your face and is not about the money. You got off easy with the shoes? How on earth did you luck out with that!lol You and wallyworld really have a love/hate relationship don't you! I hope you get everything you need to prep for your breakfast at the school. They're all gonna love it, I just know it!

My internet is not back up and I'm getting highly irritated. Another reason why I HATE living where we do! Being restricted to particular cable & internet providers is not my idea of living my way!

Well, so much for my afternoon. dh was "supposed" to be off today, forgetting that he had to deliver a car to a customer. So he had to be gone a couple hours, then he gets asked by his boss to stay, they are busy.....so he's been there ever since. Bah! Some days I really hope he would switch careers but $ is good, so whatcha gonna do,right?

Anyways, I'm babbling so I'll leave you all here for now. Be good!:)

AquaChick 09-04-2006 07:25 PM

Hello ladies!

I have a non scale victory I would like to share with you. I have a pair of baby pink sweatpants. My husband hates them (and my gray workout pants too). Well, lucky hubby, ****drumroll**** those pink sweatpants are now too large for me to wear!!! ****game show music**** :D

Sugar-N-Spice- Sorry to hear hubby had to go to work. Money is a good thing too though. :)

Sugar-N-Spice 09-04-2006 08:23 PM

Congrat's Aqua!! I bet it feels great! "Tell us what she's won, Bob!" *in my best game show host voice* :D

Dh STILL isn't home. And now after watching the opening episode of Ellen today, I am AGAIN stuck with that song sexyback. Justin was on there singing away and has left me with that tune that's been in my head for weeks now. Just when I thought I was free! LOL Almost as bad as that song Promisqious (sp?)first came out. And too bad for my family that I can't sing! HA!

TriciaK 09-04-2006 08:30 PM

Aqua... How awesome is that those pants don't fit any longer... now you have to cut them up for dust rags, so you can never wear them again...

Amanda.... Hopefully the visit went well and you can breathe a sigh of relief that you are home again....

Well, I had a most unproductive day... I went up and visited with my mom. We went food shopping... how fun is that? We did end up with all healthy purchases though. I found the most amazing hot dog if anyone enjoys a hot dog... they are even good in the microwave....if you are interested, they are Hebrew National 97% fat free... only 1.5 fats-- good stuff...Other than that.... i came back to the apartment, cooked out with my neighbors and now I am getting ready for school tomorrow. all but three of the rooms are free of mold. please keep your fingers crossed that mine isn't one that has to be quarantined(spelling??)

oh yeah, i have a question??? i am anticipating (with fingers crossed and breath held) that I actually lost a few pounds, i was wondering how you change your counter... or do I just need to make a new one???? thanks.. have a great night... talk tomorrow...

brat_61886 09-04-2006 09:04 PM

Hey Ladies,

I'm back for the week. I must say when i woke up this morning, i never expected my mentor from the time i was 12 or so to be gone. its been really hard for me. he made me feel okay about being different and loving animals as much as a i do. even when people called me things like crazy, i always knew that there was alteast one other person who would do anything to save and protect the animals. anyways maybe tomorrow ill post. i just wanted to say hey to everyone and hope everyone had a good weekend.
Much Love,
Brittni

Hey ladies!

I just got back from my trip to Edmonton. It was really really fun. I got to see my brother and he is doing well. He was a little stressed the first few days of university but who isn't right? He also had lost his wallet so he was a bit more stressed than some people. Anyways, I start school tomorrow, I can't believe it! Summer has gone by wayyyyyy too fast for me! I have so much to do tonight, it is unbelievable. I did pretty good with the diet and exercise plan while I was there, I cheated a few times but i went for an hour fast walk afterwards or later on that evening. I am getting Turbo Jam hopefully in the next couple of days and I am really going to fully start, I have just been weening myself off some foods so its not a complete shock to my system when I go to my "healthy lifestyle eating plan." It's good to be back with you gals and hope yall had a safe and fun and healthy;) long weekend. Talk to u all soon.

Heather:carrot: :carrot:
