Need help:

Can't decide whether I want to take one class or two classes this fall. There's a Romantic Lit. class that I REALLY WANT to take and a World Lit. class that's just kinda . . . unh . . .

The WL class is at night (Monday only) and the Romantic Lit class is MWF in the mornings.

I keep wavering. I think I could handle both classes. I really want to take the RL class, but the WL class is more 'convenient.' I just don't know what to do!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to be so shallow

Will the Romantic Lit class be offered at a later date that would be more convenient for you?

Well, the Romantic Lit. class will eventually be offered again (at ASU we just kind of have to take the classes as they're given). The reason I want to take the class so badly is because I'm giving serious consideration to declaring that period as my area of interest.

Also, this will give me a chance to take a different professor than I'm used to, so it will tell me if I'm really able to handle the program. I've had 4 classes since the fall of 2005, three of which have been with the same professor, who is also teaching the night class this fall (he who will, does.). I'm not saying he has me "pegged" as an A, because I'm sure I could do badly in his class this fall, but I want to take a class with someone else.

Anyway, it's all mute, because I registered this morning

I'm such a glutton.

$1,390 for two classes I don't really need a new car (or to pay off my credit cards).

Ok, well, that solved that problem! Just think, after all this education and higher paying job, you'll be able to afford a new car AND pay off your credit cards!

Cheryl ~ Thanks for the encouragement! And good for you! I know you will be able to handle both classes just fine!

My doctor's appointment went well! He was impressed with my weight loss, but was more impressed with the changes I have made to diet and exercise habits. He said that healthy eating and exercise is more important than the number on the scale! So OOORAH floozies...eat healthy and exercise!!!

Suzy- Congratulations on your excellent doctors report. See you have made a lot of changes. I think we just look at the negative things we do and forget the positive things.
I often eat things I shouldn't but I have also made changes that I forget about - like using light margarine rather than regular and diet drinks instead of regular.
I have been on program today and even drank all my water.
Cheryl - you are going to be very busy. Sound like you really enjoy the classes though.

Good for you Cheryl! I know it will be hard work and time consuming but oh so rewarding in the end!

Suzy, Congrats on the good Dr.'s report.

I was super busy today. Up and down the stairs with the old dry wall, tiles and junk from the bathroom! Found out the flooring has to be replaced! This place really is the "Money Pit"! When we are finished, we will have rebuilt many parts from scratch! But it is really shapping up and looking good!

My day keeps getting better and better! I have been wanting a treadmill for what seems like forever. We had planned on getting one last Christmas, but other things were more important at the time and that didn't happen. Tonight we went to an auction and there was a "like new" treadmill that had all the features that I wanted. We got it for $60!!! No more walking in the freezing PA winter weather...unless I want to (like that will ever happen )!!!! I am so excited!

Janice ~ You're right, we need to pat ourselves on our backs for the good things that we have done so far and stop beating ourselves up for things that we haven't done yet. Let's focus on that while we work towards the things that we haven't accomplished yet.

Debbi ~ You're really getting a workout with all those trips up and down those stairs out to the dumpster!

Congrats on the new toy Suzy! You'll love it!

Cheryl, I was just getting to post GO FOR IT, when I read you did it! Now is the time to go to school and do the things you want. After children, it is usually only a dream to try to continue school etc.

Janice, you are correct. We tend to look at the negative instead of all the positive changes made along the way. Great advice to Suzy!

I sent Dee an email, but I haven't heard back from her. This is very unlike her. Has anyone else heard from her or the family?

Gayle - I am worried about Dee too. I hope everything is okay.
Suzy - What a great buy you got, I am happy for you.
I made the fluff that you girls were talking about. WOW, that stuff is good.

Thank you all for the well wishes with mom. She went to go see her heart specialist and he was very excited with her progress. In fact, he clapped his hands together and told her a job well done and to continue doing what she is doing. She is so well known there because of her experience, we then went down to the heart unit and found a few of her nurses. There were hugs and tears for awhile. In fact, one nurse remembered the exact date it happened and this was 1.5 years ago! I know it made moms day to get a good report and to be in the limelight for awhile. Not too shabby for a spunky 80 year old!

It's always too hot here. I think with the heat index it was around 110 degrees yesterday. Am going to hate to see my electric bill. I've never been to Waterproof but I've heard of it. I live in the northeast corner of the state. Half way between Shreveport, LA and Vicksburg, MS.

Great news about your mom! I know she's excited about that!

First Dee, now where oh where is our little Shelley?

What do you girls think of the guy claiming to have been involved in the Jonbenet Ramsey case? I have a weird feeling about it... I almost feel like he is confessing for the attention.

I was wondering where Shelley is too!!
She always posts in the morning.
Did you hear back from Dee? - Gayle
Not sure what I think about the JonBenet confession. If it is true it is so sad that the parents have been looked at all this years as suspects. Sad that her Mom died not knowing who did that to her little girl and being suspected of being involved.

I'm here! Just so busy, that after work I don't have the energy to post! That JonBenet thing is really wierd. Did he or didn't he? I tend to think no, but maybe we'll be surprised and there will be some real evidence.

Gayle-I haven't heard from Dee either. Wasn't she going on a trip? I can't remember anything these days.

Cheryl-Thanks for the will power dust. I need it! Not only for diet, but just for sanity!

Janice-Good for you on an OP day!

Suzy-I knew your dr. would be impressed. Congrats!

Gayle-Thanks for the info on Carol. I didn't read it, I accidentally deleted it, thinking it was a forwarded message. I get lots of them, and sometimes go through and delete because of time issues.

Long day today--6:30-6. Talk to you tomorrow!
