Just a quick check in for me this morning. I think the scales are listening to me and are afraid of drowning, they moved down .2 so now they are 236.8. Not bad I guess cause that makes 1 pound in about 3 days. Now if I can get them down the other .8 it will make an official 40 pounds lost.

Well I gotta run for now, spent too much time chatting with some people from the office this morning and didn't leave myself enough time to make a good post. I will come back in a bit after I get some work done.

Louie 06-29-2006 09:49 AM

Honey, I'm home.. miss me ;)

Had a great couple of days away did some golfing, relaxing, abit of shopping, and got to spend time with hubby.. so all around a good short excursion.

Looks like everyone has been busy and I am not even going to attempt to catch up with personals, I will just jump back in here.

The weather is still nice here and I have the dreaded farmers tan to prove it. Oh well better then the glowing white that I was at the beginning of the week !! Not much on the agenda for today, probably just hang around the house and tonight I may go to the market. One of the smaller communities in the city has a Thursday night market where they shut down the main street and then set up tables and people sell crafts, baking, veggies etc.

Well I am going to scoot and go make myself a coffee. I will check back in later in the day and start trying to catch up with everyone. Ciao for now :D

Hi There:wave:

I have decided to take a few much needed days off of work...I get well over 5 weeks of days every year, and unfortuately this year what I have used has been for moving, doctors appts, and the stupid voice-and it is slow right now and will start picking up again mid-July, so I am off until July 5th!!! :twirly: I am going to get some flowers for my patio, finally finish my bedroom/closet organizing (I have been here 6months, it's about time I think...LOL), and maybe even do a little shopping!!! So far, I have gotten up, cleaned things a bit (I clean up a little before the cleaning crew comes :sssh: ) and taken a nap-talk about lazy! :bubbles:

Louie--Glad you are back and the trip was fun! I know what you mean about the farmers tan- my left arm gets what I call "farm arm" in the summer, because I hang it out the window when I drive. It's pretty noticible too, as much as I try to even the arms out...

Robbin--I am keeping my fingers crossed for your .8lbs :crossed: -you are so close to 40lbs-soooo awesome!! That said, it will happen in God's time, not ours...he needs to get on our schedule!! The breathing exercise- I used to do that one a lot-I have some issues w/panic attacks that surfaced a couple of years ago, and that helped me out quite a bit!!! I'm fine now, but I still do the breathing once in awhile to relax...

Erin--Sounds like maybe you and Linda have the same problem with the water weight-a small portion of brown rice and cheese won't make you gain a pound and a half! This weather is horrid and we all are probably feeling the effects of the humidity! :flame: :faint: :hot: :tantrum: :flow2:

Cheryl--TWO lbs down- way to go!!! :woo: I know what you're saying about greasy foods-they don't set well with me that often anymore either...although I guess that's a plus!!

MichelleRae--Swimming and Biking?? :high: Sounds great-i'm sure your pounds will drop off before you know it...I love to swim, but there isn't a good pool around me, nor do I know anyone with one! Oh well...

Tina--I find that in the hot weather, I tend to eat smaller, lighter, frequent meals as well...cereal, fruits, lean deli meats and cheeses, etc...I usually feel so much better...that and up-ing the water helps me as well! The wraps did sound great- may have to try that-maybe modify to Mexican?? Mmmmm...:hun:

Linda--hope you're hanging in there w/the heat!! Have you found the 3.6lbs yet? Take them out back and beat them up!!! :frypan:

Michelle, Tricia, Shawn, Tracey, and whoever else I've missed-how are things going?????

Anyway, I am going to putz around here for a bit and then maybe go look for flowers! :flow1: :flow1: Have a great day!!

RRVMMM 06-29-2006 12:11 PM

OK I was reading some post's under "General Chatter" one of the threads there is for posting your pet peeves. I had alot of fun reading these and thought I would like to know everyone in this groups "Dieting" Pet Peeves. I have a brand new one as of today.

Its when people tell me I am rude for not eating something that is offered to me. Today my company is providing lunch for everyone as a 4th of July celebration. I brought my lunch (low fat tuna noodle casserole). Well now I am rude and ungrateful because I am not eating the company provided lunch. It is fat filled, high calorie, greasy Bar-B-Que with potato salad and baked beans. I already have my "cheat meal" planned for this week and Lunch at work IS NOT IT.

Ok just had to get that off my chest. You guys don't think I am being rude and ungrateful do you?

ryanmi72 06-29-2006 12:18 PM

Uh...NO!!!

You aren't the one being rude, the ones making a big deal out of this are!!

It's simple- eat with everyone, but eat your lunch. Just say that you have been watching what you're eating, and know that this weekend will be filled w/good foods, so you're going to pass...and if anyone says anything rude, tell them to :censored: themselves and mind their own :censored: business! :p

How's that for an answer!! :D

Man...I hate rude people!

RRVMMM 06-29-2006 12:45 PM

Thank you so much. It didn't sound rude in my head and I tried to say no thank you as nicely as possible but some people just don't get what it is like to be fat and try to stick to your guns to reach your goal.

Michelle 06-29-2006 01:18 PM

Good Morning Girlies -- Well I've been fighting one of my migraines from the heat finally catching up with me. The weather has finally cooled off as yesterday it was 81F, and this morning it's cloudy and cooler; I love it this way!

ROBBIN... NO, you're not the one being rude at all, if anyone is, they are! I think many of them know that you're trying to watch what you eat, and they have no business to be putting you down for this!

RYANMI... I'm so glad you're getting some much needed time off for yourself! Are you a supervisor or manager at your job? I remember you talking before about your employees, and also, you get so much time off work, 5 weeks is wonderful!;)

ERIN... I get very frustrated with that nasy scale also! I can be up 4 pounds one day, and then back down the next. Our bodies fluctuate so much, it's rediculous! I haven't even been staying focused or on track and I think it's time I recommitted again.:o

LadyLai 06-29-2006 06:53 PM

Happy Thursday!

Hey ladies! Nothing much happening around my homefront today. Just taking it easy. I really thought that I was going to have some scale victory to report this morning. Last night before bed I weighed and it was 217.5 and I thought surely it would somehow get beyond the 217 I've been staring at these past couple of weeks. But no way hose, it only budged 1/2lb. all night! Lovely..isn't it.

I went to a skin care party last night and was the only one who showed up outta the 15 she invited. So I felt extra obligated to buy something. The product was way outta my league as far as the price goes. I ended up ordering a tube of skin cleanser for $30! It better be worth it!

And my husbands aunt from HK phoned this morning. She has been lining up some outtings for us to go on while there. She wanted to run the idea of visiting Japan accross us on a 4 night, 5 day tour. We're undecided yet, but I would love to visit as many places as I can! If only money grew on trees!!

MichelleRae, awesome riding the bike to work and back. I so envy you right now! If you haven't figured it out already...LOL...we're going to Hong Kong/China and now maybe Japan. Thanks for the offer of the discounted hotel though. Have you ever crossed the border??

Cheryl, congrats on the 2lbs. taken off!! You're doing so good. Now how's about sharing that little fairy with the rest of us!? LOL!

Erin, sorry the scale is being a stinker to you right now. I think we should have a great big scaleicide ceremony! ;) Thanks for the congrats! I feel I have pretty much accepted the fact that this is what I'll be when I leave and you bet your A$$ that when I get back I will be hitting it hard. There will be no softening up on my part! I'll be cruzin' for some scale bruzin' with some loozin'!!

Robbin, nice to see the scales are giving you an "inch" after a little threatening. Maybe I should hold mine out the window and start yelling at it. AAAnnnddd...what do you suppose the neighbors would think of me??!! hahaha! I wouldn't let the staff make me feel as though I was the one being rude. Let it slide off of your getting in shape butt and let there's get larger!! At the preschool picnic, lunch and snacks were supplied too, but I brought a big ol' cooler of fresh fruit, water and sandwiches. Things that I could go and enjoy without having too feel guilty. Better than the hotdogs, chips, juice and donuts I'd say. I'll have to think a bit about a peve...I know I got one somewhere! LOL

Louie, glad to hear you had a nice time with your hubby. It sounds wonderful! Hope you have a great time at the market. That sounds like a lot of fun in itself.

Ryanmi, glad you're taking some time for yourself. You've had a rough couple of weeks here. Take time to slow down girl and enjoy buying the flowers. Have fun altering the wrap too, mexican food is sOOOOooooo yum!

Michelle,
glad it's cooling off for you too. We have a light, brisk, breeze that cools the house off nicely. I hope your migraine doesn't plan on sticking around for long. Feel better soon!

I guess that's about all from me! Have a great one girls. I'll check back later!

~Tina

Hi everybody . . . Another little quickie to let you know I'm still here and still not in exactly a great mood . . . this heat and humidity is really getting to me. The only good news is that I really only had a half a day of melt-down. Finished up yesterday with a nice big salad with shrimp in it and have been right on-track with the eating today. Guess I've forgotten how to totally pig out. :dizzy: So I'll say thank you for the small NSV of getting it back together and hope the heat wave breaks before next Wednesday. I'm pretty sure that's what is making me hold onto the WWW. Today has been pretty busy but I hope tomorrow will be better and I'll get a chance to chat. In the meantime, gang, thanks for all the kind words of encouragement. :carrot:

Cheryl120 06-29-2006 10:00 PM

Erin...Hope you have a wonderful vacation. No, our stormroom is just a small room to stand in. I would like hubby to take the shelves out, and build a bench to sit on.

Robbin...No, you were not rude, they were!!! I'm sure everyone within shouting distance knows that are following a program to lose weight. This subject was just discussed at my WW meeting on how people try to set us up for failure. WAY TO GO!!! So proud of you bring your own lunch. Congrats on the scale moving. Guess it was shaking with the threat of drowing. WOW! 40 lbs is awesome!!!

Ryanmi...So glad to hear you are taking a few days off to relax and get a few things down in your home. ENJOY:hug:

Michelle...I'm so happy to hear you are having cooler weather. Hope your migrain is gone soon.

Tina...If you get the chance to go to Japan, GO! I lived in Okinawa for about 6 months and loved it. The East China Sea is so beautiful. Toyko is a beautiful city as well.

Linda...So glad you didn't go on a full fledge grazing mode. Your shrimp salad sounds so yummy. I haven't had one in awhile, but I think that's what I will have for lunch tomorrow.

Well gang, I got up early this morning and went for a walk before it got hot. Decided to sweep and mop the floors before I had to go to town for another meeting, and also made a light rhubarb cheesecake. Still feel alittle quizzy from yesterdays lunch, so I have been eating light. It's very hot and humid here. Our weather alert has already gone off for sever thunderstorms. Looks like it will be a bumpy night. See you chickies toomorrow.

Cheryl

Hi Ladies!! What a good day for me! I am almost caught up at work whew! I am now "officially" doing the bookkeeping for another hotel in town on top of the sales and marketing for the hotel I currently work at. Both hotels are owned by the same family so it's all good! Rode my bike to work today although I had to have hubby come and pick me up after work because I forgot that I was having him drop off my laptop and I can't ride with that big bag on my back lol. Anyway after work we went up to Home Depot to buy our new pergo flooring! I'm soooooo darn excited to get the pergo put in I could just scream!

Tina, Yes I have crossed the border a few times although not in recent years, I would love to come up some time in the future and visit the Edmonton mall again, I'm a shopping addict lol. Are you excited for your trip? I'm sure you are, I just like to ask dumb questions ;) LOL

Linda, Hang in there my dear! It's hard to stay OP when we are feeling so discouraged, remember we are here for you!

RyanMi, hope you enjoy those blessed days off! I get two lol and then the end of July I'll have 5 days off because I'm going to Arizona for my graduation ceremony for my associates degree. I'm stoked to be getting out and going somewhere! Wanna come organize my closets? Please? Pretty Please? We loveeeee having a pool here! We purchased one of those cheap above ground pools a few years ago, you know the blue ones with the inflatable top? Well we LOVED it so this year we upgraded to a real above ground pool that stays up year round. We just Love spending time hanging out in the pool with the kids and it keeps us cool!

Robbin, I'm having my "cheat" meal tomorrow! Hubby and I are going on a double date with my sister and her husband so that will be nice! I will probably try to keep it lite though I can't promise for sure lol. Oh btw, WTG on being down .2! :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: That's wonderful!

Erin, You made me bust out laughing! NO way am I always calm and controlled lol. I have these glorious moments when I just seem to "snap" everything irritates me and I get frustrated, although this usually happens when after working hours and hours nothing seems to be accomplished. I tend to be obsessive compulsive when it comes to these things! What are your plans for the weekend?

Cheryl, WTG on being 2 lbs down!!! Woo Hoo!! :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: Keep up the great work!!

Okay girls it's getting late for me so I'm gonna head to bed! Hope you all have a great evening!!

Michelle

Michelle 06-29-2006 11:58 PM

TINA... I LOVE your new pic! You are absolutely beautiful girlie!!! ;) I hope your new face cream is a good one, because $30 is a little high, but they always get you with something at those parties.:o

MICHELLERAE... That's SO great that you rode your bike to work today! You're getting in some good exercise! Also, that's neat that your work is getting all caught up; less stress on yourself!;)

LINDA... Sorry you're getting that nasty heat! It made me very irritable and icky feeling too. Our weather has been in the low 80s, which is very managable from the highs before. Hopefully tomorrow will a better day.

CHERYL... My migraine is gone and I felt so much better today. I hope by the time you come to Oregon for your vacation, that we do not have that horrible weather again!

ELEM-PGF 06-30-2006 04:44 AM

teahoney 06-30-2006 09:03 AM

6 pounds gone! 6 pounds gone!! I'm so happy! 6 pounds gone!!!!

I can't believe I lost 6 pounds this week just from cutting out soda and snacks. I am too happy for words.

Louie 06-30-2006 10:18 AM

Good Morning Lovely Ladies !!!

TGIF :carrot: My last official day off (not counting the holiday on Monday of course) and I am actually looking forward to getting back to work. Yesterday I did a bit of shopping and hubby and I went to the market, so got in some walking. Other then that I kept it pretty low key and just stayed in and did some tole painting.

Teahoney ~ 6 lbs OMG you did awesome.. you should be so proud of yourself.

Erin ~ I hope you have a wonderful holiday and enjoy time with your family.

Michelle ~ glad to hear that the weather has started to cool off a bit for you and that your migraine is gone :)

MRae ~ good job on riding the bike to work. And another job.. where do you find all that time ?!?!?

Cheryl ~ good job on getting up early and exercising. I know for me that exercising in the morning guarantees that I will get it in..otherwise I get too busy or tired and don't want to do it !! Rhubarb cheesecake.. that sounds yummy !!

Meowee ~ hope that you are feeling better today

Tina ~ thanks for the welcome home. Your new picture is beautiful.. looks like you have been getting lots of sun and have a nice tan.

Ryanmi ~ hey there girlie.. hope you are enjoying those much deserved extra days off !! Did you get some flowers yesterday ???

Robbin ~ glad to hear that the scales we listening to your threats !! I would totally have to agree with you about the pet peeve. In my office I am definately one of the only ones struggling with weight issues and if I don't want the cookies/doughnuts/chocolate that they all eat freely it is like I am offending someone... although I will have to say that they are getting better.

Tricia, Liza, Shawn, Lois ~ I hope you are all doing well :)

Don't know what today will bring but I guess I better get on with it.. at least I will start with a coffee and see where it goes from there !!

Have a great Friday everyone
