STOP THE INSANITY WEEKLY CHALLENGE #11 - Stop Yackin' - Take Action
Join us and STOP THE INSANITY of . . .
Talking about what exercises you didn't do yesterday and what you are going to do tomorrow instead of being in action and moving today. Lamenting about what you ate that was not OP (On your Plan) rather than celebrating what you did eat OP. Eating what you want and exercising when you feel like it week in and week out and expecting to see results! It's time to stop yackin' :blah: and take action. :drill: Each Monday we will post our weights and declare our promises for the week (i.e. 5 days of exercise, 64 oz of water each day, no eating after 7). Optional Bonus Goal each Monday -State a way of being that inspires us to stay in action and keep our promises (i.e., being unstoppable, committed, powerful) We will support each other by staying focussed on our successes and encourage each other when challenged to overcome that challenge with a success. Let's see how many successes we can have by July 4! mscat- All that we have is right now. Yesterday is gone, Tomorrow is not promised and Someday is not a day of the week. |
Great idea! Time to stop making excuses and putting off until tomorrow what you can start today. I've fallen into that I blew it yesterday, may as well do what I want today and then start again tomorrow mentality. Monday post success for this week and goals for the following - I'm there!
|
Monday - eeer Tuesday Fresh Start!
Well ladies - I am starting at 239 AND (no "but's" here) I WILL make 230 in the next couple of weeks. My promises this week are drinking 48 oz of water each day and 4 days of exercise by Sunday. This week I am taking a stand in being POWERFUL :strong: That is who I am and how my goals will be met! My mantra is "Power is the Key and the One who holds it - is ME!
Tryin :welcome2: How courageous of you to admit where you have been and that you are willing to give that up! Let us know what your promises are for this week and we will :cheer: you on. We are close in weight so I am looking forward to having you as my buddy as we sprint for the goal. Have an awesome day ladies - And remember, if you can't get it all done - do something rather than throwing in the towel. mscat |
Hey Ladies :)
I'm happy to see the new thread. :) It's Wednesday evening here, and I still haven't specified a challenge for this week... Last week it was to drink more water, and that went quite well for the most part (can't remember details). So I'm still aiming for that - I hate feeling dehydrated and I want the zits to go away for good (and no, I don't think they're hormonal... AND it's the kind that I never get). My horrible temp job ended some time last week - I left early on Thursday and didn't go in on Friday. My throat was hurting terribly and I nearly lost my voice. AND I absolutely didn't want to be there for the rest of the month. I got in touch with the agency, but they don't have anything else right now, so I guess I just need to wait. It sucks and it's conflicting. I don't want to work right now, but I need to (money). I guess I'm feeling lazy. And not just about work. I'm feeling very lazy about everything, including exercise, which is why I haven't been getting any depsite having lots of time on my hands. Go figure. So much for stopping the insanity and taking action! :p |
morning ladies...I'm doing great eating the last few days now that everything is back to normal...I'm still not back into the exercise though....boy it's hard to get starded again once you stoped for a while...I bought some paint though and I'm finishing up my kitchen and then I'm going to paint both bathrooms...at least that burns calories..lol..
my goal this week is also to drink more water..I've been slacking some ...Also to get in at least 4 days of exercise this week.... |
It's Hump Day!
Hi Ladies - Well I was Powerful yesterday. I started drinking my water at 7 a.m. and it made a difference in meeting my goal :cb: I ate well and finished well before 7. I did not exercise but I am declaring to be POWERFUL AND UNSTOPPABLE in completing at least 15 minutes on the treadmill before midnight! I pulled a muscle in my thigh the other day cleaning the gutters but I know I can handle a slow walk.
Donna :cheer: way to go! Getting back on the program - why don't you take on a specific amount of water and challenge yourself to getting a percentage of that in by a certain time of the day? If you have already determined what your water goal is - let us know so we can support you. If you haven't taken on a way of being - try being committed and focussed - you are already doing that with your painting! Sushi - I love you  but it's time to kick butt :drill: You, my dear, are not lazy (as evidenced by your track record with this thread) and the job situation sucking and being conflicting is that way because you say so. You have the power not to be a victim and create a positive slant on your circumstances. Try this on: Instead of saying "I'm lazy" be relaxed or peaceful! Sounds more productive right? And you can either feel suckey and conflicted with your job situation - or you can be satisfied, committed or determined to have this juncture be an opportunity. You can drink all the water you want and need right now because you have no barriers to your bathroom. You can exercise any time of the and as many times during the day now. You don't have to be a finatic while your off - but even taking on something small that you can be consistent with will make a difference. YOU CAN DO IT because who you really are is AWESOME :bravo: mscat |
It's been **** week at work but I'm still at it. My goal was drinking the water, eating good and nothing after 7. Good on the water, but food has been a challenge - but I'm not giving up! We are joining a new gym - one I can walk to so I'm proposing next week to add the exercise.
I need to figure out how to show the back-track on my signature line, so I'm leaving it as is until I get the 5lbs to go away again. They came back in two weeks, maybe they can go away in that time too? Good luck ladies & I hope the rest of the week is a success for all! |
Late Night Report
Hi Y'all! I did it Wednesday as I promised. I was totally powerful and unstoppable in getting my workout in before midnight. The clock was ticking at 11:20 p.m. and I got into action - 15 minutes on the stair climber! It was grueling but soooo worth it. I felt really great about myself when I was done. :strong:
Tryin - you are awesome! Drinking your water makes such a difference. May I suggest that you put in an extra something else (an extra 8 oz of water, 5 minutes of exercise) when you don't meet your eating goal? I had pizza tonight which didn't arrive until 8:00  So I had an extra 24 oz of water (I had already met and surpassed my water goal) and instead of the usual 3 large pieces I only had 2 small slices - approx half of what I usually eat. That way we can both feel great about our accomplishments rather than worrying about our failures. Thanks for being here and sharing your self with our group! Where is everybody? Miss you :grouphug: mscat |
Tryin - go to user CP then click on edit signature. In the edit signature window you will see the url for your signature - Adjust the last number in the url description - then save.
|
Thanks - I think! Going backwards looks horrible!
|
morning ladies..
mscat -good idea..I'm going to aim for 48oz of water per day and I need to get back on track with the exercise so at least 4 days ....yesterday I got in 32 oz of water and 30 min on bike...it's hard to get started again once you stop... |
Tgif
Great Mornin' Ladies - I have already had 48 oz of water and starting on my next 24 oz. I am taking a break at 2:30 to go for a 15 minute walk outside to make sure I get my activity in for the day.
Tryin - What's important is you are not giving up! Don't worry about going back - it happens sometimes in spite of our efforts. Look ahead to what is to come and the impact you can have on that with what you are doing today. You will get back on track a head of the game soon. We are with you :cheer: Donna - Ditto! 32 oz is better than 24 oz or 0. :bravo: And the workout is worth it's weight in gold in getting back into the swing of things. Go for the 4 days and keep going until it becomes a part of your existence - soon you will not be able to stand it if you don't get those 4 days in - Won't that be something to look forward to! Thanks ladies for checking in. I am standing in being Powerful and In Action this week. The Power to Be - Is Within Me! mscat |
I managed to get in 48oz of water today..no cardio but I did get in some toning exercises and some hand weight exercises...
mscat- may the power be with you...lol...great job on the water intake...how was your walk? |
Sunday Mornin'
Ladies - How are ya! Powerful and Unstoppable kept me in the game again! Donna, I got a 15 minute power walk in on Friday and drank over 64 oz of water to boot :cb:
The :goodscale is creaping down but I am going to be patient and not weigh myself until Monday. Saturday I was in a meeting all day and managed to drink 56 oz there! I was exhausted when I got home, made dinner, took care of some correspondence and studied 3 hours for a practice session this afternoon with some of my classmates. It was after midnight and I was sleepy but I could not go to bed knowing I had promised to workout 4 times by Sunday. If I didn't work out until later today - I would have only had 3 workouts and I would not have kept my promise to myself and to the group. So while watching "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" I got a quickie 15 minute :tread: workout! :bravo: Donna :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: and :bravo: for you getting your water in and for making sure you got in a workout. You set the example for us all. BTW - where is all y'all??? Tryin', Bonnie, carla and Sushi - hope to here from you soon :grouphug: Monday is weigh in and the day to make your promises for the week. mscat |
Morning...I managed to drink 72oz of water yesterday...I also got in some hand weights and crunches....so if I can get in today then I will make my 4 days for the week...
Have a great Sunday everyone and a great weigh-in tomorrow....I'm ready to start a new week with a new challenge.. |
Gaaaaaaah, I had a long post written up, and then the stupid laptop froze (AGAIN!!!).
So just briefly (no, I can't bring myself to write all that all over) - my challeng for this week is to drink water, and I'm aiming for 3 bottles (1.8 litres). Today I drank 2 because I didn't remember until late, but it's not too bad - a lot better than the last few days. I'll see how it goes, and if needed, I'll expand the challenge to, for example, being done with half of the water an hour after lunch at the latest. Or something like that. We'll see. Good luck to everyone. :) |
No loss - but no gain either! Spent most of the weekend working in the yard getting ready for a graduation party; must have done some good because I sure am sore!
This week I WILL drink 64oz of water everyday, eat smart at the graduation dinners and party & work out at least 3 days. Determined to see a loss this week - Hope it's a great week for all of us losers! |
I'm down 2.2lbs this week..I'm happy with that....This weeks goal is to drink at least 48oz+ of water..and to get in at least 5 days of exercise ....one of those days I would like to go jogging and see how well I can do now...I haven't jogged since last summer and didn't get very far then..I also need to work on eatting more veggies this week...

Tuesday Report
Hi Ladies
:welcome3: back Sushi! You are doing great with the water - 2 is better than 1. Work your plan and I guarantee it will make a difference. If you are looking for a way of being to stand in - I would suggest taking a stand to be ProActive! Tryin' - Glad your :goodscale report is great! It's more disappointing to gain than to stay the same so we are rejoicing with you. Here's to your success on meeting your goals this week  I would suggest taking on being Unstoppable in meeting your goals! Donna :woo: :woo: for your 2 plus pounds down! Congrats and keep up the good work. Your goals are great too - the water, the exercise and adding the veggies all contribute to your plan to Stop the Insanity. For you, I would suggest you take on being Consistent and Driven! Well Ladies - I am down 2.5 pounds 237.5! :carrot: I got in 4 days of exercise last week as promised and I am promising 4 days again. I am taking on Fun and Spontaneity to make that happen. Everyday I will make my workout a game (hence the fun) and choose what best suits me that day between my tapes, the treadmill and the stair climber (spontaneity). I got in a 20 minute treadmill walk in on Monday - Day 1 down! As far as water is concerned I am taking on being Consistent and like Sushi striving to get the first 2/3 in by 2:00 p.m. everyday. Have a great day! mscat |
Mscat-congtrat to you too on your 2.5lb loss...and for your support...
yesterday was good..I got in 30 mins on elliptical and 30 mins weights....I drank 72 oz of water....what I did was fill a small (half gallon) milk carton with water and took it to work with me to drink all day and to carry around the house...it helped me to get in my water...you can see all at once what you've drank and whats left still for the day...I also got in a little veggies.. |
Hey Ladies
Congrats on the loss, Donna and Mscat! :cheer: :bravo: Water challenge going quite alright, I did drink the 3 bottles on Tuesday and I'm on my third right now for Wednesday, should see the bottom before I get off the computer. I've been applying for jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs and more jobs... doesn't look like any of the agencies I'm registered with will find me anything any time soon, so I decided to try by myself. The problems are as expected: I'm losing interviews just because I can only commit to 3 months' work because of my visa restrictions. I had hoped that teaming up with agencies would be a way of getting around that. But I'll keep on applying - maybe eventually something will work out. |
Well, Mscat, I bet when you chose the heading "Stop the yakking..." you didn't really want me to stop yakking here on the thread! No real reason for the time spent away, just life.
So anyway, this week started off with a :yikes: weigh-in on Monday. Up to 197.9 lbs!!!! But for once, I didn't panic and eat myself into a stupor. I decided to just continue on with what I'm doing, and voilą - this morning back to 195.6. It must have been payback for my little ice cream episode last week, and once all the extra junk was out of my system, I got back to where I was. I don't think I'll be able to hit the under-190 target by July 1, but I'm certainly going to try! Maybe if I ramp up the exercise a bit... My watchwords for the week are MODERATION, POSITIVITY, and READING. (Why reading, you ask? Well, I watch too much tv, and there are no food porn ads in books...) The hotter weather is good for eating the right things. It really makes me enjoy good stuff like fruit and veg and yoghurt. I'm also trying to move at least a little every day. In fact, last night I overcame my true nature and called a friend to go for a quick 2k walk before bed. Not what I used to call exercise, but better than nothing... Bonnie, where are you hiding? Are you too busy exercising and undereating to come and post? Or are you hiding in BB-land avoiding the scale? ;) Donna and Mscat, bravo on the nice weight-loss! That's the kind of result I'd like to see too. Sushi, good luck on the job hunt. I can see the visa issue make sit tough. But it seems you're enjoying the break, which is great as long as it doesn't go on too long. |
Evenin' Ladies
short post - been MIA - out of town for 2 days with no internet access!
Back in town and back in the system - got off on water, exercise and plan while I was away! Afraid to even look at the scale! Carla - you little minx! I missed you. No I did not mean for any of us to stop posting and talking ;) Just want us to put some positive actions behind our words. Sounds like you are back on track again :cheer: I absolutely love your choice words - If they don't inspire you I don't know what will - heck I am inspired. :bravo: on the 2k walk. Sushi :woo: :woo: :woo: on the water! We will keep praying and sending :goodvibes: your way for a job. Are you eligible to renew your visa? Lets' hope for great temp position that will last the duration. Donna -:encore: on your exercise and water. I like your strategy! Now that is stopping the insanity and trying on something new that is really making a difference in your water intake. I am going to to try that because I have a tendancy to get lazy about refilling my 24 oz bottle and then losing count how many I have to go. Have a great evening ladies  |
Hey ladies :)
I've been getting the water in most of the days, but I'm not entirely happy with when that happens - yesterday I didn't start till late in the afternoon, for example. Will need to work on that. I had a interview with another agency today, and I really liked the agency and the consultant. Much more friendly and interested in me as a person than any other agency I've tried. Hopefully they can get me some work soon, but unfortunately I hope it won't be extremely soon... I'm having problems sitting down... I slipped on the stairs 2 days ago, fell very hard on my bottom and now I have a huge purple bruise, which seems to have swollen as well. I'd treat that as a proverbial kick in the butt to get moving, but I can't do much exercise with it... |
I;m getting in my water now everyday with my new plan of the big jug...it really works...I've managed two days so far on the workouts so I don't know if I'll make my 5 days this week but I'm going to try my best...I've also managed to get in a few veggies everyday...
sushi-good luck with your interview..I hope you find something soon... |
Go Girls!
Donna :cheer: :cheer: :encore: and :bravo: on the water and 2 days - go for the 5 - that's today, Saturday and Sunday - you can do it and we are behind you
Sushi - that late afternoon start with water gets me too. ;) So let's pledge for the rest of the week to get started by 10 a.m. on our water quest. :cheer: I am late but I am downing my first 24 oz right this minute. If lower body is challenging with your injury - shoot for some upper body - use some weights (or cans, jugs) while sitting in a chair or do some sit down yoga moves. Your gluts might tingle a bit but less than if you are on your feet. You may not be able to do what you planned to do - but you can do something. You are woman - You are strong :strong: While you are doing your upper body repititions, say "Great job, Great Assignment." I'll be chanting that for you on my walk this afternoon! Awesome Day to you all! mscat |
Sunday Report
Where is everyone? Well, I did not get in my exercise yesterday - but there is no lamenting about that, nor is there any giving up because I didn't keep my promise ( 4 days). That would be the old "Insanity" way of doing things.
Instead of doing a 15 or 20 minute workout, I am going for an hour of activity! :strong: Either an hour on the treadmill or a combo tread and stair or stair and WATP - tread and Tae Bo . . . The possibilities are endless and I am excited about that! So many choices to restore the integrity of my promise. I can't recoup the 4 days but I CAN get 4 plus workouts in. I am also going to make certain I get my 64 oz of water in by 6 p.m. How about joining me on this challenge ladies? How can you make up for unmet promises/goals or if you met your goals, go for the extra icing on the cake??? Who will take me on and report back by the a.m? Don't forget, Monday is weigh-in day. :goodluck: mscat PS 16 oz of water down - 48 to go! |
Hey Ladies
It's Monday here... and I'm up 2 pounds... :( I'll blame it on TOM for now. Last week has seen an improvement with water drinking, but I'm still not drinking as much as I'd like to, so I'm going to continue with that challenge. Good luck to everyone :) :goodvibes: |
Good morning all! I'm still not ready to get back on the scale, afraid of not being back to where I was last month. Think I'll give it another week!
But - I did do my water everyday last week, except for graduation party day for my son - I ate well, and I actually started working out! Joined a gym I can walk to with other neighbors and have friends and family I can go with. Sore as you-know-what, but love the feeling because I know it's doing me good! Sushi - hope a good job opportunity comes up for you soon - it's hard to stay focused on anything else when your looking for work! Donna - hope you made your goal through the weekend, I'll bet you did though God knows, weekends are tough! mscat - your continued encouragement to all of us makes such a BIG difference! Thanks, thanks and more thanks! My goal for this week is to continue to drink my water, work out at least three times for 45 minutes to an hour and stay the course on the food! Finally got rid of all the graduation goodies last night, so should be easier. And finally - get on the scale next week regardless! |
Yea Monday!
Afternoon Ladies - Just a short report for last week. Hit water goal most days - will make all 7 this week - Promise! As I said, I missed my fourth day when I skipped Saturday's workout. However as I promised, I did get in a 1 hour treadmill workout on Sunday to make up for it :woo: :woo: Like you Tryin', I am sore but it feels good to hurt a little bad. Also got in my 64 oz in yesterday. This week's goals are 3 days of 30 minute minimum workouts and 64 oz of H2O plus every day. My being in action word for this week is UNSTOPPABLE.
Tryin' :encore: what a great week for you - You can do it again! We will see you on the :goodscale next week with a great report. Sushi :cheer: You improved on your water intake from what it was before! That's what counts. That means you are going to be even more successful this week. We are right behind you! I will report my weigh in later mscat  |
Hi all. This week my weigh-in showed a very small improvement - down to 194.5. So there IS hope of hitting my goal of under 190 by July 1! My goals for this week: stay away from sweets and vino. And if I can get even a teensy bit of exercise, that's gravy. Flourless, fat-free gravy, of course.
|
carla! There you are! I have found where you go when you're not lurking on MY thread! Well, things have been quiet on the challenge thread, but moreso, I'm considering spreading myself a little thinner, you bet!, and thinking of joining up here. mscat, you look like what I may need. Since on the 21-day thread I'm the one who has to give all the support (and I'm feeling pretty drained these days :stress: ) I was wondering if I couldn't stop in here for a bit of R&R?! Not that I wouldn't be supportive, just that I need to not always be the one carrying the ball...you know what I mean?
So, if that's cool with you, what do I have to do? It's Tuesday here already, but what's the game plan? :sunny: |
I had a bad weekend of bad eatting..why do I let mtself do it..just give me a hard kick..lol anyway I did get in my water everyday last week but I only managed to get in 3 days of exercise and one day of yard work...I don't want to weigh-in this week cause of my bad weekend...
this weeks goals are to continue getting in my water, get at least 4 days of exercise and make sure I eat at least one serving a day of fruits or veggies Carla-congrats on the loss. Tryin-glad to hear you joined the gym...I love going but right now just can't get motivated plus right now it just been so crowded..I guess everyone is trying to be ready for the summer.. mscat-you did a great job last week..keep it up..I know you can make your goals this week.. we all can make our goals we just have to push for it.. redballoon-welcome..theres always room for more |
Hey Red! Good to see you! We're a VERY small, not too talkative little group here. We weigh in on Mondays , and try to come up with challenges for the week. Lots of support, no punishment, no negativity... The guidelines should be in the first post; if not there, you might have to go back to the previous thread (#10). Mscat is a sweetheart, always an encouraging word for each of us, even weekly awards of kudos for those who list challenges met. :welcome2: Sushi is here, also Donna and Trying. Bonnie has been MIA for a week or two, but will return. She wouldn't desert her BBB (big butt buddies - her expression). We're all very good at NOT weighing in...
|
Ok, pebbles, thanks for the welcome! carla, ditto! Yes, I checked out the first post, got that, I guess I can come up with some goals for the rest of the week, even though it's already Tuesday. Negativity really ticks me. I mean, there's a difference between being down and slumping along like a gnome, which I do often, but going out of your way to find the gray clouds, point to them and go, 'heh look! gray cloud, everybody!' is like, huh??? :?: Sure glad there's none of that around. Tell me, is mscat a drill sergeant like myself? No, you said she's a sweetie, eh? Well, in any case, I'll be meek and complacent over here, ok?
Right, weighing in today...count it as my Monday, since it's still that by you all....73.6 kgs!! That's nearly 162 lbs. Ultimate goal is 58 kg, but I'm aiming to break the psychological barrier of 70 (kind of my onederland..) as soon as possible! Wish me luck! Goals to come.... :dancer: |
Nice to see some action here! Welcome, Red, it will be great having you here. :)
Scale showed just over 60 kg today, so I'm quite confident that those two pounds I mentioned last time are no longer an issue. I might not be exactly at 60 because I had not eaten for 16 or 17 hours prior to stepping on the scale (which doesn't usually happen), but at least it's down. :) Water was good on Monday, and I'm just finishing the last of it for today. I'm off to apply for more jobs jobs jobs jobs jobs jobs... |
My darling daughter, home from school has joined the gym with me. Other college boys were there so she's ready to go same time everyday! The boys were showing off and more than happy to show me more effective ways to use the equipment. OMG - I'm walking like I just gave birth! It was great fun and I'm sure she'll push me to go everyday!
Drinking the water, eating good and plan on hitting that scale on Monday! It's 8:30 am - do you know where your water is?? |
Heh Sushi! Hi there! Thanks for the welcome! Well, just heading to bed now. I STILL haven't got too far on my story and I'm taking it to the wire... :stress: Need that fire under me! I'm thinking up goals and actually did write them down but they'll have to wait till tomorrow to be posted here. I did my crunches and journaling today, which are my 21-day challenge challenges. Going to make these different of course though. Jays, Sushi, just over 60 kgs!! That is like my goal! And you're taller than I am! Wow! Trying, hi there! What great stuff you're doing there at the gym! Good for you! Pop a few aspirins and you'll be rarin' to go! :goodluck:
|
Tuesday Greetings
Red :welcome: we are so happy to have you! I have admired you and your commitment to the 21-challenge since joining 3fc. I have done a few of them myself. You can rest your bones here anytime - I know what it takes to host a thread even though this one is small and in no way comparable to 21. I am not as diligent as I would like with posting with the group - but I can count on the girls keeping the thread going when I miss. (Love you all  ) Even though it's Tuesday - jump right on in - we believe the first day of the rest of the week and your life begins right now!
carla - Go! Go! Go! :cheer: You can make that July 1st goal - As Mary Kay Ash says "shoot for the moon - if you miss it at least you will land among the stars." Bonnie - Where are you? We are missing you - pop in and let us know how you are doing or we'll have to send out the clowns - oops I mean hounds. :dizzy: Tryin' - you are kicking butt! :drill: You are truly my BBB in action. What's your water goal today? Mine is 64 oz - I hit it Monday and I am going for it again today - 24 oz down so far! We are the water and exercise queens. Sushi - glad to see your spirits up - Keep increasing the odds that the right job is coming for you! And :cheer: :cheer: for 2 days getting your water in - I am dubbing you water queen also. For me, my lovely ladies being UNSTOPPABLE in my exercise and water quest is working - This a.m. I completed a 30 minute tread workout. So I am 1 of 3 on exercise and 1 of 7 on water goals. And the big news is I am down to 235! That is 2 lbs down from last week. Anyone else interested in declaring a way of "being" to make their goals this week? mscat |
