Two points for me for yesterday. 17 for the week. No reward. I think I need to re-read my own "how I lost 85 pounds post!

I'm mad at myself. This is just ridiculous! Last night, I woke at 4am to potty and couldn't get back to sleep. You want to know why? Usually it's just insomnia, but noooooo, last night it was because I had a stomach ache. I ate a large portion of potato salad right before I went to bed. Not very smart. I've been reading Dr. Phil, as I said, and one thing he says that is still niggling at me is "Either you want to do it, or you don't". I do want to do it! I want to feel the pride of knowing I am in control of myself. So which do I want more - excess calories for momentary gratification, or the long-term gratification of weight loss and a healthier body? Remember my top 10 reasons to lose? I'm going to get out my scrapbook and repost those. I welcome each of you to think about your serious reasons, and post them, too.

We can do this!! I bet you, like me, promised yourself that you would lose after the first of the year, when Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Year's was over...well here it is, almost June, and I'm fatter now than I was then!

What are we waiting for? Who wants to get serious about this with me?

Some of the reasons to lose aren't quite as intense as they were when I first wrote them, since I'm not as big as I was then, but you get the idea.

Losing for my HEALTH is a given, and here are the other reasons:

#10- to fit comfortably in airplane and movie theater seats.
#9 - to stop fussing with my clothes.
#8 - for more breath and energy
#7 - to find something that fits in any clothing store.
#6 - so my knees and feet will stop hurting.
#5 - to stop worrying about my weight all the time.
#4 - to know I did it.
#3 - because I'm just sick to death of being so fat.
#2 - to be around to dance with Neal at our DGD's weddings.

and the most important of all...

#1 - to honor the body God gave me.

What are some of your reasons to lose?

Mine are much like yours Jane. Mostly I want to be healthy, have more energy and quit hurting. I would LOVE to be able to run. I don't know why, I have never run, but I just got this urge last year.....and have been thinking of it since. Maybe a jog...I don't know. :)

The clothes thing is a big draw for me also. Nothing ever looks like I want it to.

Okay...back on track today and I will report in later with my points.

Sat...the eating was good so it was a 4 pt day. :carrot: And today so far 3 mile walk=1 pt, vitamins=1 pt so...so far 2 pts for the day. I have one of the four bottles of water left to drink and dinner to fix. Not sure what because I don't normally cook on Sundays. Total so far...23 pts. not counting the water and food. Will report that tomorrow. Funny thing though...I never did come up with a reward if I actually do get the points, lol! Tomorrow will be a new week and I am happy to say the beginning of week 7 of me taking my vitamins everyday, drinking my water, walking/It Figures and eating for the most part (of whole the 6 weeks) OP. So why haven't I lost any weight?! Anyway...on to week 7.

Reasons for wanting to lose...

1) for my health
2) to be able to bend over and tie my shoes without my big belly getting in the way
3) to feel better about myself
4) to wear a smaller size-like a large instead of an XL or 1X
5) and just because I am sick of being overweight

Funny you mention running Sue...I never liked to run in High School or even after but I liked to jog. I haven't jogged in ages! But I too feel the urge to. Of course that is cut short when I try...just can't do it. Maybe if I try a few minutes a day on the treadmill and work my way up. My biggest thing is everything bouncing up and down...flopping all over the place :yikes:
