gdeann 05-18-2006 04:37 PM

Cheryl, I LOVE your catchy intro! I'm so happy you volunteered to take over!
How are things? Remember I am sending good vibes and wishing only the best for you!

I push mowed/sprayed for bugs/sprayed weeds at our house and my moms today. 5 hours straight of yard work, makes this old body feel even older! LOL! I started the day off getting Ali to school, then going to my mom's, doing her meds and cutting her hair. Boy, I love my days off... LOL!

I did have an interesting story to share. As I was mowing and elderly lady drove into our drive. She was lost and to make a long story short, she was 40 miles from home and going the wrong direction! She had drove over to our walmart and lost her way home. I considered taking her up to the highway which would lead her home but I felt very uncomfortable doing so. After visiting with her, she seemed confused and I was really worried. I called the Sheriff's office and an escort arrived to take her home. After visiting with her, I found out she was 80 years old, a retired nun, a paralyzed leg and had only lived in the area 5 years. She has no family around here. I plan to call her later to make sure she arrived home safe & sound.

Sending LOSING FLOOZIE vibes out today!

LOVE YA!!!

4myloves 05-18-2006 04:53 PM

Yeah, Gayle, I got tired of cutting and pasting. Actually, I didn't even realize I was typing a "new" intro until I was almost at the end of it. Then I thought, "Wait a minute--I didn't have to type all of that!" Of course, by then I'd already typed it!!!!!

Your nun story is so sad. I'm always afraid that one of my parents will be in a position like that someday. Before my dad was diagnosed w/colon cancer he would forget while he was while driving. One time he got lost about 25-30 miles from home. It's really scary. I'm proud of you for calling the sherrif and also for getting her number to check on her later.

ShelleyM 05-19-2006 05:51 AM

Gayle-That is so sweet of you to call the lady. I, too am worried that my parents will be that way soon. I think my dad would rather die than not drive. It's very scary.

My weight is up to 131!! I need to go hard Core. I just can't get into journaling again. I think I might begin Core tomorrow. Yes, I do run many miles, but I think I make up for them quickly. I earn only 10-15 points for the day on Sat and Sun. I think I ate more in pecans! Well, they are gone now, so I don't need to worry about them. I have also been buying sherbert and eating a coffee cup full (packed in) per night. I just think everything is really adding up.

Gotta get moving to work!!

Deelite 05-19-2006 11:12 AM

Shelley I know how you feel, I am up to 132. I don't like it and I feel panic. I decided I needed to get off of sweets. That is what is doing it and all the birthday cake and mother's day cake and on and on..... I am journaling most of the time but I am still eating sweets. I think that the one mistake I realized I made is that I started having an almond butter granola bar in the afternoon with my coffee. Well it triggered my sweet monster. It just built up. Now I have to quite that.
Find out your trigger Shelley and get rid of it and journal

Cheryl thanks for the lovely new openning for us. You are doing a great job. Very inviting.

Gayle you are just too sweet. Last week it was an owl you found this week it was a little old lady. What will next week bring? Maybe a lost Chip n Dale. I am sure that you would find a way to rescue them.

4myloves 05-19-2006 12:20 PM

Dee, Gayle is a happily married woman. She definately doesn't need to rescue a chip n dale. I, on the other hand, could come to the rescue (over and over again, if necessary!) :)

SuzyMc 05-19-2006 01:27 PM

Good afternoon everyone!

Gayle ~ Good thinking on calling the sheriff to escort that lady home! Without any family around she may have wandered for quite some time before she was missed...no telling what might have happened!

Shelley and Dee ~ I'm another one who needs to back away from the sweets! I ate a lot of desserts while Travis was home and that was enough to start the sugar habit again. It's time for us all to get serious and get off the sugar again!

Cheryl ~ You're a riot! I'm glad to see that you still have your sense of humor!

gdeann 05-19-2006 03:48 PM

Hurry girls! Look quick!!! See the little Chip & Dale stray I found today! Will you adopt him Cheryl???? LOL!

4myloves 05-19-2006 03:55 PM

Well now, Gayle, I do have a thing for older men!

Does he have any money tucked into that thong?

Suzy--I've been making the girls at work laff till crying all week at work.

SuzyMc 05-19-2006 05:48 PM

OMG! Thanks for the laugh Gayle! Sheesh, who has more fun than we do?

ShelleyM 05-19-2006 05:49 PM

Gayle-Where the heck did you find him?

I backed into a lady's car today in the Walmart parking lot. Boy, was she mad at me. She had been hit 4 times in the same lot. She cussed like a sailor at me when I got out of my car. I probably did about $400.00 worth of damage to her car. I swear, I really did look in back of me. I didn't use the mirrors--I always check over my shoulders. Anyway, just what we need right now. When it rains, it pours. Of course, I am too dumb to even think to take a picture with my phone.

gdeann 05-19-2006 06:32 PM

I don't care how many times the lady has been hit, you do not deserve being cussed at Shelley. Maybe she was driving through the lot to quickly, that could explain why you didn't see her AND her other 3 accidents there. Did you do a police report? I know usually in a parking lot, a police report is not needed but they will do one for you for insurance purposes. They may just consider it no fault and then you wouldn't need to worry about your insurance going up. Yes, I agree! When it rains, it pours and I know you feel like your drowning in a flood of problems right now, but it will get better! Keep the faith and know I am here for you!
How about if I send my little Chip & Dale guy over to rough the ol' gal up a bit???? LOL!

Deelite 05-19-2006 06:35 PM

Gayle omg I laughed so hard when I seen your little chip n dale. You are always good for a laugh. Gayle to the rescue..........

Cheryle knotty you checking out his pouch....

Shelley aww I feel so bad for you having to put up with that lady's verbal abuse and now the expense of fixing the car.

Suzy we are going to have to stick together and keep this sweet monster away. I need encouragement. I will be here for you.

Deelite 05-19-2006 06:37 PM

Wow Gayle it is a good thing I checked in, I would have missed all the fun and not know whatyou were all talking about. I think maybe you might be a cross dresser.

gdeann 05-19-2006 06:42 PM

I removed the pic girls...I know, I know...he was just too hot to handle! I wanted you all to stay focused on losing weight and staying motivated instead of fantasizing about a lap dance!!! {{I'm bad!}}

gdeann 05-19-2006 06:43 PM

I sent you an email Dee with the pic, I was afraid you might not make it back over the weekend to see it. I guess you were checking as as I was sending!!So now you have your very own personal pic you can print off and enjoy!!!

SuzyMc 05-20-2006 03:11 PM

Happy weekend everyone!

Shelley ~ I'm so sorry to hear about the accident that you had yesterday! You sure didn't need for that to happen. You must feel like the whole world is against you about now. Hang in there...things will get better!

Dee ~ I went through and got rid of all the sweets in the house (again :^: )! Funny how that stuff just creeps back in when I'm not paying attention!

Gayle ~ Mr. Chips was really nice, but I think you're right...it would have been hard to focus with him around all the time!

I sent the 3FC link to a good friend of mine the other day and she is going to join us here at McSkinney's, so be on the lookout for "Lynneye"! :)

coles 05-20-2006 03:40 PM

Wow you girls have been busy the last couple of days. I guess I am too slow checking in I missed the Mr. Chips altogether.
I have been working and then trying to get things done in the house.
We took the cover off the pool today and the liner is rotten. I am very sad.
Gayle - What a nice thing you did for that poor woman. It is sad when old folks have nobody.
Cheryl - We are all here for you.
Monday is weigh in day again. I hope I did better this week. I think I did. Last week was TOM and I didn't realize it.

ShelleyM 05-21-2006 06:11 AM

Janice-Is your pool above ground, since it has a liner?

Gayle-Come on, girl. Can't you get that picture bigger? We can't even see your beautiful face! Of course, I wouldn't know how to do it either. Would you believe I'm scared to go to Walmart now? I'm afraid I'll back into someone.

We ordered a Dell laptop for Becky yesterday. $2000.00 and no job for Mike. Thank goodness for credit cards. He needs a job before the bill comes in! We are going to get a graduation card and put the printout for the computer in it. She will be very surprised. It's not due in until at least the 30th, since we had a specially configured one made.

Suzy-I hope your friend joins us!! We always like to "see" new faces here.

Lynneye 05-21-2006 08:33 AM

Here I am, Lynneye, Suzy's friend. Really my name is Debbi Lynn and for years I was called Debb-eye Lynneye. So I answer to everything!
Let's see, I joined WW in Oct. 2005, have lost 30 pounds so far, and want to lose at least 40 more. I have the most supportive DH around. He gets me gifts for milestones, when I lost the first 10% of my weight, I got a manicure and pedicure at a really nice place. When I lost 25 pounds, I had a day of beauty, manicure, pedicure, facial, massage, the whole works! He is a mailman, so he walks all day, and does not have a problem.
I am a teacher at a local university, I teach anatomy and physiology. I love my job!!
Can't wait to get to know all of you!

ShelleyM 05-21-2006 10:35 AM

WELCOME, LYNNEYE!!

You are so lucky to have a DH that is so supportive! He sounds like a keeper. How long have you been teaching? We also have a bio board, where you can post your information.
:welcome2:

Lynneye 05-21-2006 11:02 AM

I have been teaching for four years now and love it! I never thought I would want to teach, but I love it.

gdeann 05-21-2006 12:59 PM

WELCOME DEBBI!!!!!!! I hope you enjoy hanging out with us Floozies! This is a great group! I have gained friendships that I will treasure throughout my years on this earth. Feel free to share!! CONGRATS on the weight loss so far!

Shelley, as I backed out of walmart yesterday, all I could do was think of you!!! I bet Becky will be thrilled with her laptop! Isn't it amazing what we will do for our kids? Still sending good vibes your way! When is graduation? I have a niece graduating today.

Suzy, I'm so happy you found your way here to this board! You are a dear friend and I enjoy reading your posts! I hope you forewarned Debbi we can get crazy at times. Hmmmm....I wonder if she would like a pic of Mr. Chips??? LOL!

Off to take care of outdoor animals, go to my mom's to do meds, then back home to cleanup and make it to graduation. Have a great Sunday!

ShelleyM 05-21-2006 05:32 PM

Darn, MIL called 3 times for me. I finally had to call her back. She want to go out for coffee after graduation on Wed. night. Yuck! Talk about what we will do for our kids! Now that's a REAL sacrifice for me!!

gdeann 05-21-2006 05:53 PM

Oh Shelley, I'm sure your MIL loves you! LOL! Don't try slipping anything into her coffee, it will be too obvious!!! You really will do ANYTHING for your kids! So, you guys have graduation in the evening hours?

SuzyMc 05-21-2006 10:28 PM

Janice ~ I can't even imagine thinking about getting in a pool right now...it was snowing here tonight while we were eating dinner! It is May, isn't it?

Debbi ~ I'm so glad you joined in! :welcome2: I know you are going to love this group of ladies...they are all wonderful!

Gayle ~ Debbi has been warned! And yes, you may have to bring Mr. Chips back for an encore!

Shelley ~ What a way to end the weekend...with a phone call to the MIL. :dz: You need to come up with some sort of special reward for yourself on Thursday...you're going to deserve it after having to make nice with MIL Wednesday night!

gdeann 05-21-2006 11:37 PM

Snow Suzy???? We just had a couple of 100 degree days! Is this common for your area?

SuzyMc 05-22-2006 12:28 PM

It's not all that unusual for us to have snow in May. Our high today is only supposed to be 50! Burr! It's going to be in the low 30's here the next few nights and then the temps are supposed to get back up where they belong by the end of the week. I'm ready...bring on summer! :beach:

Hockeychic 05-22-2006 02:32 PM

Good afternoon everyone.

Can I join in?

A little about myself. I recently turned 40...:dizzy: and have been told I have high cholesteral. I have been making headway with weight loss and lots of exercise to get my HDL up. My heavest was 200 that was Jan 1st. I am down now to 174...getting there....slowly but getting there.

I am married with 2 kids DS 16 and DD 13. I have a very supportive family which has really helped.

I don't have a particular weight in day, I basically check the scale daily just to see where I am.

I look forward to going back and reading all the posts.

Have a great day

Kim

gdeann 05-22-2006 02:48 PM

WELCOME KIM! GREAT WEIGHT LOSS SO FAR! Support from the family really helps! Glad your family is supporting you 100%!!! Feel free to post away!

gdeann 05-22-2006 03:07 PM

Here is a link to a dress I just ordered for a wedding. Hopefully it will fit and not be too low cut. I'm not near as thin as the model....check out her collar bones sticking out! So.....do you all think this would look OK on a fuller figured gal? Also, I can't find any light beige shoes, so if I have to choose, should I go with a white sandal or a darker brown sandal?

Lynneye 05-22-2006 04:39 PM

Thanks for the welcome everyone! Today was a good day for me, I walked at lunch for 1/2 hour. Finally the rain has stopped and the sun is out. We have had rain for the last week, and it was great to be out in the sun, even if it was windy.

ShelleyM 05-22-2006 04:43 PM

Welcome, Kim! Join on in!

Gayle-The dress is lovely! I think it will look beautiful on you. What about the shoes that are advertised on the side? They look perfect for it. They are available in champagne, which looks like the color of the dress. Otherwise, I'm not sure a darker color would look right. What about gold sandals? They are showing so many metallics now.

chrily 05-22-2006 08:14 PM

I am such an idiot. I forgot that you gals switched threads on me. So here I am after not figuring it out for a few days.

How is everyone doing???? Hi Kim! I guess that means I'm not the newest memeber anymore. Glad you could join us.

Okay..gotta get dinner finished then my sister and I are either going for a bike ride or for a long walk. It's too nice of a day to hang out in the gym.

Check backa later.

chris

ShelleyM 05-23-2006 05:26 AM

One of my babies is graduating tomorrow!!!

I am feeling so old and sentimental today. It seems like yesterday I was holding her in my arms. I can't believe that was 18 years ago. I would be crying and crying, if I wasn't on this darn Prozac!

Chris-Glad you found us again!

Today is the staff luncheon. For once, I'm not in charge, although I was the one who had to order the stuff, since I am the money lady. I have been OP for 3 days now, but I do plan on having something today. Maybe the yummy bread thing with the broccoli stuff in the middle. There is plenty of fruits and salad too.

Kim-I check the scales daily also, although I am better than I used to be. I used to weigh a few times a day. Now I can go a couple of days without weighing!

Hockeychic 05-23-2006 07:12 AM

Thank you all for the welcome.

Exercise went great yesterday, 10K on the stationary bike in the morning then Dh and I went for a 30 min brisk walk last night.

Just a quick check in , gotta get ready for work.

Have a great day everyone!!!!

SuzyMc 05-23-2006 08:11 AM

Just a quick post...

Our part time guy quit last week (found a full time job), so I'm moving out of the office and working with the guys as much as I can until they can hire someone else.

Welcome to all of our new members...I'll catch up with everyone this evening. Have a great day everyone!

4myloves 05-23-2006 11:20 AM

Suzy--Where do you work? How's the weather today?

Chris--So glad you found us again!!!

Kim and Lynneye (and Chris)--great job staying active! Don't forget that we have an exercise thread where you can post your goals and accomplishments. Shelley would love the company over there! :)

Shelley--don't cry little girl.....It'll be OK. (just wait 'till the other shoe drops  ) Seriously, though, you should be so proud tomorrow night when you see your baby walk down that aisle and receive her diploma--you've accomplished a lot and set her in the right direction for the rest of her life. Love ya, girlfriend.
