Name that movie

Here's a game where we tell a line out of a movie, and you see if you know which one it is. Wether you answer it or not, anybody can add new lines for others to guess, at any time. Let's go!

1. "You had me at hello"

2. "Give me some of your tots."

3. "Mom? Dad? Uncle Frank?"

Give it your best shot!

Julia Roberts' character Shelby in "Steel Magnolias" talking to her mother about being pregnant. I love that movie and I did the play with a local theater group. I was Clairee ;)

jules1216 05-04-2006 11:36 AM

Another "jules" said

Men, you can't live with them and you can't shoot them.

Jane 05-04-2006 03:29 PM

Kim, you're right. :cp: You were Clairee? How fun!

Julie - hmmm I'll have to think about that one.

Ok, here's another one: (speaking of killing men, lol)

Some men just can't hold their arsenic!

jules1216 05-04-2006 04:27 PM

Jane--It's one of the "brat pack" movies that doesn't star Molly Ringwold and th actress who was "jules" has three kids with her first husband who I think is still a hunk and is married to her second much younger husband now.

I can only think of Arsenic and Old Lace with my favorite male actor Cary Grant!!

Jane 05-04-2006 05:13 PM

Nope, that's not it, Jules. It's a much more current movie than that.

da fat n da furious 05-04-2006 05:23 PM

Kim, I did SM last year,,,by the time I ended that show I was seriously hating it. I LOVED SM but the cast members were down right nasty women. Except for the woman who played Clairee and her friend Weezie,,,I know Im spelling it wrong.

Katie I should of known!

mandalinn82 05-04-2006 05:38 PM

"Some men just can't hold their arsenic"
From Chicago, in the song where they are all singing about the ways in which they killed their husbands.

Some contributions for guessing:
#1 - "Your ego's writing checks your body can't cash"

#2 - "Now, a clever man would put the poison into his own goblet, because he would know that only a great fool would reach for what he was given. I am not a great fool, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you. But you must have known I was not a great fool, you would have counted on it, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me. "

Oh Angie, I'm so sorry to hear that! I very much lucked out because we did the show with an alumni group from the college I attended. Tons of gals showed up for auditions, but the cast was made up of myself and 4 girls I had gone to college with! So it was a show about friendship being performed by 5 friends. It was an awesome experience.

Jane 05-05-2006 09:17 PM

mandalinn82 - you got the Chicago one right. But you lost me with your clues. The first one sounds familiar.... but I don't think I ever heard the 2nd one.

Jane 05-07-2006 07:24 PM

Katiecat 05-08-2006 10:30 AM

OK, here's an odd mix...something for everybody, I hope :D

1. "...don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter."

2. "You're gonna need a bigger boat."

3. "Nobody puts Baby in a corner."
