Hi LadyT, glad you found us here. Congratulations on becoming the proud owner of a beautiful horse. Redballoon who lives and works in Tokyo is also a horse afficionado, you two may have lots to talk about. I have ridden horses just for fun a looooooonnnnnnggggg time ago, but like you said, the weight is an issue--the poor trail horses I've ridden had a rider limit of 185 lbs (they were small I guess ?!? ) so I've not ridden in a great while. Anywho, glad to have you here. :high: I had my first (and only) baby when I was 27, so I think you're right on track ;)
I just got done with dinner and well...I went a little overboard. I am feeling stuffed! We have a houseguest and it's been a bit of a party atmosphere while he's here, lot's of Chinese takeout and good-tasting-but-not-so-good-for-you foods. I will have to step up the exercise tomorrow and drink lots of water. I don't even feel like going to the movies anymore, I just want to sit here and veg. Hopefully more of the gals will pop in during the weekend to say hello, but if not, fear not, we'll all be here on Monday morning. Have a great evening! |
Hi all & a big :welcome3: to lady T
Just a a matter of interest what is Cinco de Mayo? Shows my ignorance from the other side of the world!!!! I am having the week end off the detx. I have been going well all week but just felt like a break (& a drink!) so figured not much point in drinking & popping if I wasnt going to be 100% good. I am not doing the full bit of altered foods no this this this & this stuff. Just using it to really help me get back on track I guess & even doing it my way I still get reasonable health effect from it. I can tell with my level of energy etc. A as I said no way I could forgo my :coffee: HOPELESSLY addicted! Am having a quet week end at home this week end doing some cleaning & of course the endless mounds of washing & ironing grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr  CANT STAND that. Noelle, I cant imagine wanting to watch my boy with sharp objects etc, but then again hes not that into sport & stuff & is really somewhat unco, so thats why I would be even more scared. lol. Anyway best go, said son is attempting to read over my shoulder. GEEEEEEEEESSSSSS I hate that! Have a great week end all. Oh yeah was just wondering have any of you heard reports on the neews about the miners trapped in the mine over here? I was wondering what news you get about us down here? Bye:wave: |
I cannot believe that there's only 4 more weeks of school. (I don't count the last week because it's only 3 half days).
Welcome to LadyT. I'm glad you were able to join us. We love having new friends. These ladies are the greatest...as I'm sure Noelle has already told you. Maggzs: Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican holiday that is celebrated more in the United States than in Mexico. It has become very commercialized here. It celebrates the Mexican army (with 4000 soldiers) win over the French army (with 8000 soldiers) on May 5, 1862. The French were bent on conquering Mexico, but the Mexicans showed that they were willing and able to fight. The battle took place in a small town called Puebla about 100 miles from Mexico City. It is sometimes mistaken for Mexican Independence from Spain, but that independence was won nearly 50 years before in 1810. Today, the celebrations include lots of partying, food, and dancing. It's considered a Mexican holiday, but many Americans join in the party as well. Hope that helps. Noelle: I know how it is when there's company. You just keep up the great work you've done already. I have hit a plateau (nothing lost nor gained for the past 2 weeks). However, I bought some new pants and shirts today and was down 1 size. I still can't figure out where I've lost, but it is showing in my clothing size. I know that the weight will do very well while on vacation. I know that many people gain on vacation, but whenever I go to Europe, I lose. One summer, I lost 17 pounds just because I walked everywhere. I'm actually looking forward to the walking we'll be doing. Of course, I'm not looking forward to the very warm and humid weather. :p Hello to everyone else. Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. Drop in and let us know how you are. Cal |
Thanks for the warm welcomes ladies! Hope you all had a good weekend! Just thought I'd pop in quick and see what's doing, and noticed we're on the 2nd page. Thought I'd bump us up!:)

Good morning ladies, how was your weekend? Hope you are all rested and ready to tackle the week ahead. I had a pretty good weekend and even bought myself a new pair of glasses  . I had some bad indulgences involving desserts :ink: . Confession time: I had a Cold Stone Creamery coffee ice cream (like it size = small) w/a peanut butter cup mix in...for 14.5 pts. Was it worth it? Yes. (I can say that now that I'm not standing on a scale at the moment)... but then my sister came over last night with a orange dreamsicle cake--the saboteur  So I had 2 pieces of that too. So let's just say that my food choices have been less than stellar over the weekend. And to add insult to injury, I was out shopping yesterday and stepped off the escalator, and my ankle just went bad on me. I didn't fall or anything, but you know that weird sprained feeling I get every once in a while? Well it's back. I know I'm rambling and I know it sounds like I'm building up to 101 reasons why I will not lose weight this week.... but the ankle thing is true. I will have to rest it up for a few days and see if it gets better. OK, enough boo-hooing from me.
Hi LadyT, sorry I wasn't online during the weekend much. I pop in and lurk sometimes, but it's usually between doing the laundry or stepping out of the house. Things should get hopping today. (:coach: come on out girls and give the lady a proper welcome!) Cal, :bravo: on the smaller clothes sizes and MAINTAINING your loss so far! That is great! Your vacation sounds even better since you manage to lose weight while on it, and eat all those yummy European foods. There's a new book out called French Women Don't Get Fat or something to that effect.... never read it myself, but did see some talk about it on the forums here. I had to smile with your Cinco de Mayo explanation. Thank you Mrs. F. ;) :hat: Maggzs, our local newspaper did have some news on the trapped miners and I did see some updates on CNN. They are within feet of rescuing them aren't they? I can't imagine being trapped for 2 weeks! It must be horrible, but at least they have each other. I imagine if would be worse if you were all alone (maybe). So did you have a good weekend? Kempy, how was your weekend? Did you have that margarita I asked for? Well, I gotta run for now. Hello to all  |
Happy Monday Ladies!
I had a pretty good and active weekend. Started out getting my butt kicked by the elliptical on Sat morning. Sunday I went down and walked on the treadmill for 15 mins, which was all I could take following the elliptical buttkicking on Sat. The Sun afternoon I went out to the barn for my weekly riding lesson. My uncle rides in lessons with me, which is a lot of fun. Our instructor also teaches my younger cousins in their pony club lessons on Fridays. Apparently my uncle was sitting on the sidelines on Friday, being a 'peanut gallery' and teasing our instructor a little bit. Well she got even with him on Sun, and I got to share in the punishment. Almost a full hour of trotting, OUCH! I also found out that she gauges my "breaking point" by how red my face is... :o After about 45 mins, she asked my uncle if he wanted to quit, he lookes at me and goes, "well, are you ready to quit?". Our instructor glares at him and says, "She is NOT done! She is only light pink! She goes until she is RED, maybe 15 more minutes... now make him TROT!!!" Whew. Noelle, I wouldn't worry too much about the weekend of indulgence... Ice cream is pretty hard to pass up at the beginning of summer. We have a place called Marble Slab, that is similar to your Cold Stone Creamery  . It is like 10 blocks from my house. I could have ice cream from there every day, I swear, it is so YUMMY. At least you got the small, right? cal, you must be sooooo happy that school is almost done for the year! Especially with a wonderful European vacation lined up! Maggzs, a little while after you posted about your son reading over your shoulder, my hubby started to do the same to me! Grrrrr! He can't stand to hear me giggling at some of the posts I read, and not know what I'm laughing at. So he just wanders over and starts reading over my shoulder! I popped over to your post, and let him read that over my shoulder while I glared at him! :D Ok, I better get crackin' on the job hunt, housework, etc. etc. etc. Have a great day!! |
Hello Everyone!!!
Welcome Lady T. I had a good weekend. I even did well on my no sugar goal this week, except for yesterday. I woke up late, and left the house without eating. Needless to say, the only thing to eat at the car show was brownies, and four brownies later. ugh. Anyway, I'm going to go one more week on this habit, and then I'll move on to the next habit, which will probably be no diet pepsi. Oh, that hurts just to say it. Anyway, have a good afternoon. |
Okay, I have to admit that I'm am sooooo ready for school to be out. The little heathens.....I mean children :D are driving me crazy. :dizzy:  , but being the dictator that I am I will give it right back. They got some grammar lessons today...it's crazy that in 7th grade they still have trouble using capital letters. They are enjoying the book we're reading for Literature class, though.
Noelle: You are doing so well, don't even give last weekend a second thought. You are still an inspiration. Maggzs: I was watching the news this evening and they reported that those miners were rescued today. They even showed one of them waving from the back of an ambulance. I'm so happy they were found alive. I do get some news from 'down under' because I have a good friend who lives there. Lady T: That is so awesome that you go riding. Horses make me think of my mom who loved them. My stepfather gave her a horse (the first one she ever owned) a few years back. She was so happy with that gift. Personally, the last time I went riding, I was eighteen. I wouldn't dare get on a horse now; I'm far too heavy and old. CW: I can understand about the diet pepsi; my sister is trying to give it up. She will do well for several days, then fall off the wagon and have one. She's doing better, though. She used to drink a six-pack, easily, a day and now she drinks one or two a day (cans that is, not six-packs  ) Dips: Have you finished with finals yet? We miss you here. Take care of yourself while you study. Angie: I hope everything is going well. Please come out and chat. Hello to Julie, Kempy, Cherie, Red, and anyone else I may have missed. Cal |
:( I am still around. I need to rant for a bit so I hope you dont mind. :tantrum: I am hoping that I can write my feelings down and move on. :write: I am so disgusted with myself. I can hear "dont give up" a million times but the fact is that telling someone not to give up doesnt help one bit. I have gained all the weight back that I had lost with the exception of about 12 pounds. I keep taking off because I dont want to bring you guys down with my problems and also because I am trying to run away from my problem. There I said it....I dont want to face the fact that I am so damn fat again and I dont think I have the strength in me to go through this again. I feel like such a waste right now. It is amazing how I can have such a great family and the best husband in the world but I still feel like nothing on the inside because of the way I look. I am embarassed to be seen like this but does that stop me from eating? NO. Why is food so damn important? It is like this...I hate myself for being so fat so I eat and then I hate myself for overeating so I do it all over again. Does that make sense? I just want to be normal. I mean I have been at goal twice but I still felt like I wasnt in control of myself and all it took was one bite of a favorite food to send me on the landslide back to fatness. Literally, I remember both meals after I hit goal(130 pounds) that sent me off the wagon and back into a state of mind where I couldnt stop eating. The first time was a date night for me and Jay and we ate chinese and from that day on I nibbled my way back to full blown pig outs and back to 207 pounds. I lost it all again and one day we had pizza Hut with the kids and I have been gaining till today 2 years later all the while trying to get back on track but failing miserably. I weighed in today and the scales said 248 +- pounds!!! :yikes: I just want to be healthy and in control but I dont know how to do that without white knuckling it. I feel like a drug addict without the drugs. :stars:
Sorry about that guys. I had a bad moment and wanted to cry and get it off my chest. I cant believe I am having such a hard time but I just cant seem to get a handle on it. I keep trying and everytime I lose control I feel like I failed a hundred times worse than the last time....but I do keep trying. So how has everyone been doing? We havent really been up to much. Jay has been working for his parents in his off time to try to get ahead of the mudseason money loss. He is going to be working at his moms bakery all summer to help her out so we can get ahead of our bills for next winter. Hopefully. We got Candi shaved down for the summer because she is a Keeshond who has never blown her coat in 4 years. So I cant keep up with it so we shaved her down. She loves it and she doesnt pant so much now either. She can sleep in bed with us without getting too hot too. She has never been able to do that before. I will try to post some pics of her. She looks like a fat little sheep now. |

well Helllllllooooooo stranger!
 Hi Angie! I'm so happy you came out and made some noise. Honey, I'm so sorry you're having a rough time right now. Everything you said I have felt before, so you make perfect sense. I can't post too much right now because I have some errands to run in town.... I'll be back later to chat more. Love the pics and your RV is beautiful! Candi looks like a mini-Akita with that cute haircut. I really gotta run, sorry so short, but yeah :carrot:, Angie's back. Luv ya babe!
Hi everbody! |
Hi Girls
Angie I am happy to see you. I am sorry you are having a tough time. But I am glad you posted girl. You RV is so nice. How is your weather up there? We have been lucky with nice warm weather but now we have rain and clouds in the forecast for a while. Noelle how is the ankle? I think I know what you mean, when you just take a step and something feels like it is going to give. My knee will do that every so often. Cal get those storage bins out and start packing up the class, LOL..... Maggzs I saw on TV about the miners, I am happy and relieved that they are okay. My eating is really bad today. I think it is the clouds and rain. Okay I got to blame it on something:^: :D, LOL. But really I made dd her lunch and she didn't want anymore of it and I found myself picking at it. I have to go and find something for my mom. I want to get her something special because she does so much for me. I was thinking a engraved stepping stone for her garden. Not to much else happening with me. Hi everyone else. I will check back later on. Have a great day! |
Thanks guys. I feel so needy. I hate to come here and whine but I was hoping that if I actually said all the things I have been feeling lately then maybe a weight would be lifted off my shoulders and maybe I can get on track and get healthy.
Noelle, What did you do to your ankle? I hope it gets better real soon. Candi is looking a little grubby this afternoon. Jay has been tilling up a spot for a garden and she keeps rooting through it and I think she is eating worms. :nono: So now her whole nose is brown and dirty. She is such a pig. Julie, It is pretty nice up here today but it has been off and on with the sun and warmth. One day too hot and the next day run the furnace. You know what I mean. I want to get in another walk but I just got done with work and am in the process of making supper now. Shake & bake chicken with chicken rice and cauliflower. Maybe the kids will go with me after supper. I hate to make Jay do it because he has been working so hard lately. |

Oh I dont know if I told you guys this but I found a place on ebay that makes ceramic urns for your pets. It is a cat sleeping on a rock with angel wings. Well, I ordered one and she had me email her pics of Tinky and she painted him to look just like him. I got it last week in the mail and it is so pretty. She did a great job. So now my Tinky is on my computer desk.
Here is Tinky and his urn. She did good huh? |
