Chit Chat & Weight Loss # 182!!!

Hello:wave: and to the Jaded Ladies thread to anyone reading this!

We are a supportive and caring bunch of ladies who share our journey with weight loss, as well as our everyday lives. So feel free to pull up a chair and join us. :cofdate:

tommysgirl18 04-24-2006 04:04 PM

hello ladies!

welcome to the new members!! Just jumping on here so I can say hello to everyone. They are taking our internet tomorrow, so hopefully we can get it hooked up quickly at our new place!

MtaTJac 04-24-2006 04:07 PM

So we only let threads go up to 50 posts? (I'm still new at this!)

Marti 04-24-2006 04:09 PM

Good Afternoon Ladies...

So much chatting that I don't think I'll do individuals at this time, next time for sure.

I do want to welcome the new girls though!

Welcome to: Amy & Jacque !!!! :welcome2:

Well...I was going to report my WI today, but I think I'll wait and use the scales at work. Mine is broken!! I stepped on it today and it said I was 100lbs! Then I got back on and it said I was up 160lbs. Hmmmm....so I did a little investigation and low and behold...the center of my scale was crushed in!!

So WI will be official AFTER work.

Ok...some thing I must do before work today. I'll be back after work and try and get some individuals done!

Hugs to all!

MtaTJac 04-24-2006 04:10 PM

Marti, how sad!! And scales are pricey too :(

Marti 04-24-2006 04:11 PM

We started doing that for people who have a hard time getting the pages loaded. So if we get to #50 or very close to it....we start a new thread and either I or Jane will close the old one.

So if you ever happen to be the one that's at the last of the posting...feel free to start the new one. That's not limited to anyone in particular!

Happy to have you here!!

MtaTJac 04-24-2006 04:17 PM

Ahh, that makes a lot of sense! (And since half the time I use the computer it's from dial up, I really appreciate that thought!)

Jane 04-24-2006 04:42 PM

Hi ladies,

Jac & Amy - welcome! If you see someone online that you want to chat back and forth with, you can always meet them in the chat room, too.

Cristina - thank you so much for the New Home card. How thoughtful of you! And a big Way to Go on the weight loss. Good luck with the showing tonight.

Jules - hope your allergies are better.

Marti - yikes! You need a new scales for sure, lol. Bet you have some very accurate ones at work!

Lakegirl - yep, I know the drill only too well, lol.

Mindee - hope you survive the move.

Sue - my lilacs are almost gone. In the acres around the houses, we have them in about 5 different spots, and they're one of my favorites.

Ellen - YAY for the weight loss. Did you ever find Susan?

Well, my muscles are sore, once again, lol. I've been moving plants and decorative bricks today. The west end of the house is now planted in hostas. Fern had the old fashioned kind that get huge, so we dug them up and split them. Also, we moved and split some Stella D 'Oro daylillies to the east end. We put some astilbes, foxgloves, and some hostas that are cream with green trim on the shady side, with some impatiens, and the sunny side will have roses, lantana, stargazer lillies, and I'm not sure what else. Then we bought 130 24" scalloped cement bricks to use as the border line all around the house. The guy at Walmart helped Neal load them in the truck, and I helped unload them.

See ya later!

MtaTJac 04-24-2006 04:51 PM

Jane, Sore Muscles are a good sign! (Usually at least!)

It sounds like you've had a busy day!! I'm thinking about planting a garden myself, although I'm living in a townhome temporarily... and I don't have much space here.

Tea Rose 04-24-2006 05:42 PM

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v619/tearose1/109.gifNOPE JANE , I DIDN'T FIND HER , FEAR SHE'S GONE FOR GOOD  It sounds like your gardens are going to be beautiful, lots of hard work though I know, I take it that everyone in Oregon has to go to another state for scalloped edging  Get Neal to massage then kinks out, you have work to do girl , no time for sore muscles
HEY MARTI...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...tar3793_21.gifMAYBE SUSAN WILL USE THAT ONE TO  Sorry about your scales being broken , honest I am  :p (just kidding)
Well I take my scales are the only working ones today and Cristi's  Now what do you think Cristina, are they running:running: in the opposite direction or what
Ok those of you in the 30 lbs challenge your off the hook till next Monday except for :coach: SUSAN:goodscale:

Mom2Gaby 04-24-2006 08:12 PM

woo hoo!!! Congrats on the 5 pounds Ellen and Cristi on the 1:) I will squeeze in between you two and claim 2 pounds down to 176. Though I weighed Saturday at 174.5 (I swear!), must have been the slurpee or the beer or both or maybe that pizza last night????lol I will do better.
Determined to beat your sorry kitty cat butt Ellen. btw - that was a really cute picture :) Anyway, now I am motivated!! You can't be the ClipArt Queen and the Weight Loss Queen too.......lol
Welcome Jac and Amy.
I went to the work shop today and sat on my butt. Couldn't stand it. Had a yummy lunch of wild rice, squach and chicken....and a wonderful slice of carrot cake. I HAD to eat it, everyone else was eating theirs......and it was calling me "Susan, Susan.......Ellen already lost more weight....what the heck"......sad but true....now I will aim for next week and lose some more! The hotel also served Starbucks coffee and I had some orange slices.
Better go snuggle Gaby for a bit- chat later.

Mom2Gaby 04-24-2006 09:28 PM

ok, I am back. Gabster is filthy and so am I. We have been up forever (5:30) and I just want to snooze. I told Gab she has her bus in the morning and we needed to get a bath tonight.
Her grandmother sent her 3 cds of music, so that was nice. Becky is enjoying her suspension *snicker* little turd. Rach is doing ok - up and down but overall no new crisis.......yet. lol
I guess I don't have much to say. I think my gold fish are going to die. I broke the filter and the water is getting cloudy and the fish are acting weird.

btw- if you get on the scale and it says 100 Marti. You don't get on it again!!! Silly......take the 100 a run. hehe

gotta get a bath for gaby.....

Dahlia 04-24-2006 09:50 PM

Good evening ladies,
Wow, there sure were a lot of posts to catch up on. It was a busy day in here. I weighed in this morning, and was still down there..:goodscale . hoping tomorrow will show another drop...I weigh in every day, gives me incentive..... but
Ellen and Christina, congrats on the losses:bravo: :cp: ..every pound counts...

Welcome to Jacque and Amy. :wel3fc: :welcome: :welcome2: :welcome3: Ahhh to be so young again.. will be fun chatting with you gals.

Jules, how's the allergies coming or going. Better I hope.

Marti,, what kind of new scale are you going to get? :goodscale They have all kinds of them out there.. I have a digital, it shows pounds and ounces

Mindee, hope you aren't without internet too long, we'll be anxious to hear about your new place.

Sue, I love lilacs, dh too out a bunch of white ones a few years ago, I just ordered some new yellow ones.. they looked so pretty in the catalog

Jane, your yard sounds pretty too. We never get a chance to do anything in our yard and flower beds till almost July.. Our neighbor cuts our grass for us once in a while. He is either very nice or embarrassed to have neighbors with such tall grass. He is dh's cousin.. and sometimes I just think he likes riding on his lawnmower.. but it's nice of him to do that. We give him free flowers for his yard so it works out nicely for both of us.:moped: :flow2: :flow1:

Ellen, your kitty is darling. Just how many do you have?

I opened my shop today, and surprisingly I had a steady flow of people in till about 3 p.m. then it tapered off. They bought things too. The weather is not that warm, but warm enough to get everyone in the mood.:sunny:

Did everyone else's screens suddenly get very large again?

I forget if it was Amy or Jacque who is an aspiring novelist... but good luck to you. I love to write and always wanted to write a book or two.:write: . in fact I actually have written three. Two are the romance type and one is just a short story about being snowbound with a house full of kids. I am now making notes of events in a certain situation we have in our life at the present time, and plan to write about it in the future.. it is still one of my dreams.. but hey, Whistler's mother didnt' start painting till she was in her 80's or something like that.. so maybe when I retire I'll finally send him my manuscripts and see what happens.:comp:

Ok. well, enough said.. I am tired and tomorrow is another day. So hope you all have a good night, catch ya in the morning.

Ginny:ebike:
PS I rode my bike tonight,, hope I can keep working it in..

luckycharm 04-24-2006 10:06 PM

Hi Everyone

I didn't realize it had been so long since I have had some computer time.

Jane...I looked all over Animal Kingdom for Katie but I didn't find her anywhere. I was sure hoping to just magically run into her.

Well, I must go and read and catch up on everything and meet the new friends that are here.

Hope you all have a great day.

Jane and Cristi thankyou so much for the cards. It made my day so much brighter when I got them. :grouphug:

Kathy

LakeGirl 04-24-2006 10:55 PM

I'm very late tonight!

Was very pleased to see that there are apparently other aspiring writers here! It has always been my dream; it's just finding the courage!

Today went pretty well food wise. Monday is grocery day and the problem is that I get off work at 1:00 and immediately head out to the store, so I haven't had lunch yet when I get there! But I still did healthy buying and then as soon as I had unloaded the groceries, I had a WW pizza in the microwave!

Spent most of the evening reading a book I ordered that was recommended by my ADHD son's therapist, called "1-2-3 Magic". Anyone have any experience with this book? The principal seems very simple, and at this point, I am willing to try anything!

Good night to all of you and happy Tuesday!

suetalks 04-24-2006 11:03 PM

Oh Ellen...I was actually THE FIRST to weigh in this morning thank you! LOL.
Just because I was one of the few who had NO loss....you go and forget me. (j/k) :)

Congrats to all the "losers" out there. You are all doing great and I WILL lose next week. Got in my walk and I have been walking at least 2 miles a day/5 or 6 days a week. I guess I need to ramp it up and walk 2 miles more a day.

Hello to the newest Jaded Ladies.

suetalks 04-24-2006 11:06 PM

Ginny...Yellow lilacs? How wonderful. I had never heard of such a thing. We don't have the old fashioned type of lilacs. Ours are smaller bushes/smaller blooms and I believe they were Korean lilacs. They smell wonderful.

Tea Rose 04-25-2006 01:03 AM

I was wondering how you are, How did the anniversary go, very well I hope, no hanky panky I hope  well maybe a little  I have so many kitties, I could open a store  I have :o lets say more than a few, I,m like a shelter for homeless kitties , I can't bear for any animal to be hungry or homeless,:nono: so I can't turn any away , if they come to my door. Paris is the only kitty I ever bought , and the reason I brought her home was because she looked so sad and sick at the pet store, I couldn't leave her , and sure enough when I took her to the vet the next day she had a few problems that needed immediate attention. She is a sweetie , as all of my kitties are. I love korean lilacs , I had so many bushes at my other house, they are so fragrant , I had 3 bushes under my living room window, and when I would open it up the house was filled with beautiful fragrance. I am going to go and get me some soon  Yellow lilacs would be very pretty .I hope you are having a wonderful night

HI KATHY....HOW ARE YOU

That would be a wonderful dream come true to have a book you have written published . As far back as high schools teachers wanted me to send my poems to a publishing company , and my friends and family still try to encourage me , but I have no confidence in myself at all. I figure now its to late to do anything like that, I think a lot of my callings have passed :( I really get a lot of enjoyment out of writing poems , especially for my friends here. I hope you are having a nice night.

HI JANE....
How is the planting going , did Neal work those kinks out  I forgot you asked , but I am about 300 miles west of New York, or 10 miles west of Niagara Falls, Ontario or 30 miles west of Buffalo and I am almost 3000 miles away from my Angie :lol:so does that mean you are coming for a visit soon

Marti 04-25-2006 06:47 AM

Oh my goodness....with all this chattin' going on how am I suppose to keep up?? I'll do my best.

Ginny--I'm still using the Gazelle. I'm getting antsy about my bike though. I really need to get the tires aired up. I'm really wanting to lose weight before summer. Partly before vacation, but mostly so I feel comfortable in my own skin!!

Michelle--I hope your mother is doing a lot better. Especially since they sent her home already. Just make sure she's resting and not over doing it before she's ready. Our weather has been fantastic hasn't it?? I think that's helping keep motivated lately. I just want to keep moving!

Jules--Your husband has a Studebaker? I have always loved those when I started going to car shows. Does he go to the cruises and show it off? Is it drivable?? Must show me a photo when he's done.

Angie--How did the talk w/your doctor go? Did he give you any helpful sugestions that you can share w/us?? (I know, I'm trying to get a freebie here and I AM being nosey) ........well sheesh...I just reread your last post! I need to keep up here. Keep us updated on how things go.

Susan--Your chicken soup sounds wonderful. James made a vegetable beef soup last night. It was so darn good!! I drool just thinking about it. He used the left of meety bones that he froze from some roast we had a few weeks ago. That man sure knows how to cook. Now....if I could learn to bake, we'd be a perfect pair in the kitchen!

Katy--I can just picture Leigh on her little bike. Jhanai has never learned how to ride. And she still doesn't want to. I think now she just feels embarrassed to get on one to learn since she's a lot older. I keep telling her that her aunt didn't know how to ride a bike until she was in her 20's. And she learned quickly and so will she. Now....to just get her on the bike!

Jane--What did I miss?? What happened to your knees??? Are you ok? Does it hurt to walk? Hope your results come out good. How is the yard coming along?? I bet your home is just gorgeous inside and out!! One of these days Jane, when I hit the jackpot...I'll be knocking on your door asking to stay in your guest room!:)

Kimberly--Or do you prefer to go by Lakegirl? I would love to write a book....but I'm not much of a writer. And my imagination only goes so far and then it wonders, so my books would probably end up being like those "choose your own endings" and never really ending!:D

Mindee--Happy birthday to Brandon. Has it already been that long?? I thought we were just celebrating his first birthday. Pretty soon you'll be sending out Graduation Announcements!! Time is flying so much!

Sue--Our lilacs are almost all bloomed. And they smell so good. Tomorrow I plan on cutting a bunch of them to put in the house. Because once the wind or rain starts up again....it blows all the little flowers off. So going to take advantage of the good weather and have my house smelling of lilacs!

Jacque--Once again "Welcome" My husband was a trucker too. He only did that almost a year before he got the job for the Railroad. He's still gone a lot!! We're glad to have you here!

Amy--Welcome to you too. Sorry I can't help you on your question. I do hope that Katy's answer helps. Come back soon and let us get to know you more.

Cristina--I'm glad you found a place that you really like. I wish our gym actually had someone in it to talk to or ask questions too. It's always nice to have some trainer to get ideas from. Hurray on the 1lbs gone!! Are you also doing the WATP tapes?? I've been thinking of getting those, but wasn't sure what to think. Do you have to have a treadmill?? (have I asked you this before??? Seems like Deja Vu!)

Ellen--Congrats on the 5lbs gone! That is fantastic! You're going to be where you want to be in no time!! Your kitties are all adorable!! Makes you want to just reach out and pet them!! Ok, I know I've asked this before....but do you have a clipart that I can have for my advatar?? Something that would describe me?? And maybe a poem to go with it?! (heh-heh, just kidding...asking for a lot aren't I?)

Kathy--Good to see you again. Come back when you have more time and let us know how you've been.

Whew!! I think I've got everyone that I can think of!! Hello to anyone I may have missed.
Sheesh....probably tired of reading now that you're close to the end aren't you??

News on the scale.....moved the little plastic cover thing and managed to fix it. I'm still going to eventually get a new one, because this isn't going to stay this way. But I did weigh some weights before I got on, to calobrate it. Didn't budge this week.

Still hanging at 147lbs. But I'm not going to complain. I will complain when it goes up.

Alrighty then...I'm off to go to bed. Getting sleepy!

Night all!

Dahlia 04-25-2006 08:18 AM

Good morning ladies,

Marti, 147 and you are complaining.. shame on you..I'd give my eye teeth to be 147 again.

Ellen, thank you for sharing pictures of your kitties, they are all adorable, you can't look at those little faces and not love them all... I have a friend who takes in strays also.. She takes in any kind of animal, she works with the local animal welfare people. Her husband built her a small 2 room house just for the cats. IT's heated and looks like a real little house. She had to many to keep in her home.. but she had some there too. Anyway I think it is great that you do that.

Angie, does this doctor advise you on dieting or is he/she for a tummy reduction? I know a couple gals who had the tummy reduction done, they still had to diet like crazy to lose the weight. One gal said she can never eat meat again, and another one lost weight but then restretched her stomach out and gained back again... it's a rough battle no matter how it's done.

It is cold here today, I don't expect many customers. But I have some paper work I can do. We actually had some snow on my deck this morning. Dh told me about it, I didn't want to look. It feels more like it's going onto fall than spring. Hopefully it warms up soon.

I saw the yellow lilacs in a flower catalog. I didn't know they existed either. BUt they looked so pretty. I already have light and dark purple ones and white ones.. so I thought yellow would be really pretty. My magnolia tree is in full bloom.

Well, I guess I better get ready for work. Keep up the good work, I like having lots of posts to read in the evening. It's better than watching tv. Oh Ellen, you have quite the soap opera going there with all those kitties. And how did you get my picture.. the one with the flannel nightgown?

Have a good day everybody,
Ginny

jules1216 04-25-2006 09:24 AM

A big fat "0" on the weight loss for me.

I am feeling better, my eyes are not so itchy today. Thanks all for asking. Quick break at work...so this will be short and sweet...

Ellen--my kittys don't venture inside but come running to be fed.

Lakegirl--Had problems with my son all through school and with teachers and other administrators wanting to put him on Ritalin. I read several books from Cynthia Tobias (www.cynthiatobias.com) the best one was "The Way They Learn" which helped me to help him understand the material better. Another great book was "The Christian Woman's Guide to Personalities" it also helped me. I think all the reading material I went through with him has helped me as a supervisor.

Ang--I got the BFL book out at the library.....

Ginny--snow....yuck..

Marti--the Studebaker is a new project car though it is almost ready to go on the road..but not yet restored to it's former glory...He also bought blueprints for a "t-bucket"--he bought the body from a fiberglass place but has manufactured the rest--it's almost done & he wants to race it at a place in Hagerstown--then there is the 1965 Chevy truck with a huge Cadillac engine in it & a chopped top that he used to race at the dragstrip and of course his motorcycles.

Sue--I am getting serious about my water comsumption which seems to help me lose. Here's hoping with both move the numbers down!!

da fat n da furious 04-25-2006 10:39 AM

Good morning,

Jane, when do you get the results of your MRI?

Ellen, my computer was so slow last night I stopped it then clicked post,,,then I saw that it had gone through so I deleted I hope,,,from my area its deleted.

Ginny, no Im seeing my family Dr. about a a referral to another Dr. who specializes in weight loss, no surgeries. Just plain on food, and some councilling. And of course with getting my blood analized possibly what ever Im lacking I can get that worked out with meds or a herbal remedy.

Marti, you are one lucky woman with James...Monte wouldn't know what to do with how to make soup. Other then using a can opener. He one time thought to make cheese biscuits,,,ya well he used cheese whiz cause grating the other cheese was work. The biscuits didn't turn out...lol

Jules, nice to know you are feeling better,,,I went and had to buy another allergy med last night,,,alerga isn't working for me this time. Went back to Bendryl,,,it knocks me out though but last night I didn't mind. My eyes are both still swollen...Ive been using my glasses more,,,just don't want to be scratching my eyes with contacts in.

well off to work I go,,,monte has me working on a project. Looking for a company that pours foundations,,,but in Lacombe area. 2 hours north of here... he saw an auction for some old houses,,,he wants to buy 2 and fix them up. And that is about it....

Good Morning!!!
Carrot cake is a vegetable.
I don't have a computer at home.
I am in a work shop this week.
Whose 147?? Dang gurl.......I got on my scale last night and was 175.5. I celebrated with some cheetos and beer.
What Ellen. I can't talk about your kitty?? Can I talk about your Mama?? lol
Congrats again!!!
Very impressed with your post Ang, so pretty.
Better get to the breakfast buffet table.

Adios.

Morning Ladies--

Ellen--Thank you so much for the pics!! I liked them all, so it was hard to choose. One didn't let me view it, but that's ok, I like the one I'm using. Now how in the word did you size it just perfectly?? That has been my problem the whole time! (I always make it too small)

Ginny--Considering that my highest was over 175lbs I think I'll keep 147.:) I have struggled over the last couple years to get it any lower than it has been. I've gone down to 142 and that's it!! Keeps going up and then back down. I suppose I should be happy in the 140's but being only 5'1 I think a lower weight would look better. (ooh....how vain is that statement?)

Jules--Wow! I would love to see all your cars! My ideal classic car is the 64 thunderbird. Love that. Someday when we hit the jackpot and after I go visit Jane...I'll get myself a thunderbird!:D

Angie--I just about cracked up reading about Monte's cheese biscuits!! That is so funny!! The only thing about James cooking...is I have to be right there to clean up everyting. That man makes a mess when he cooks! Always worth it though.

Susan--You know, I have to agree w/you on the carrot cake being a veggie! Think I'll go find me some now!:) Breakfast sounds good right now. Seems late in the day and I actually got up an hour earlier than usual. What was I thinking?

Not much on the agenda. Some laundry needs done, I need to get on my gazelle for half and hour, need to primp myself up afterwards......

Busy day.:D

Chat w/you girls later.

Hugs:hug:

Hi Ladies...

You ladies are killin' me! Geez, I was lost when I signed in and came to thread #182 not realizing I had posted last on #181. I was lost to say the least! :dizzy: I keep trying to get on in the evening (the reason I don't sign out when I log on the first time) but it just never seems to happen. Will have to try harder in order to keep up! :)

ELLEN...took me a while to get on also. I think I jinxed myself talking about getting on so easily through IE. Oh, well...I'm here and that's all that matters. ALL the kitties are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing your kitty family with us.

JULES...when my grandma passed away, my grandpa bought a studebaker. I think it was the only car he liked and the last one he had before his health failed and he couldn't drive any longer. And again, I think I jinxed myself...all this talk of allergies and me being fine so far finally caught up with me. Started last night and today I have had a horrible sinus headache, not to mention the nose running like crazy!

JANE...your yard is sounding so pretty! Can't wait to see pictures of it. Maybe I can get some ideas for somethig new! Now all the flowers you are planting are they low maintenance? I always looks for something that is the reason for the carefree roses, rose of sharon and some others. And, sounds like you are getting a GREAT workout from it all!

ANGIE...not sure at this point yet what V is wanting to do. But we are this [] close to pulling the sign out of the yard. Especially after the showing Saturday and last night. Saturday, not sure who was here but when we came back it looked like a kid had jumped all on the couch and the chair. The pillows were messed up on both and looked like someone had their feet dug in the couch. Last night, the showing was to be from 7:15-8:15 so we left at about 6:50 to give them plenty of time to look. I'm assuming most come right at the time they say and are gone in 20-30 mns. So I take Ernie to the park to walk him and we come back to see that they have come. Well...last night we left early and came back at 7:45. Now I know they have until 8:15 but no one has taken a full hour to look. So, I brought food back (since them coming at that time messed up our dinner schedule)just took everything out of the bags and Jason went to his room and Carrie to hers and I had sat down, took one bite and the door bell rings. I said to V you have got to be kidding me! The people showed up at 7:54 to look at the house. V went through the garage because once someone rings that doorbell there is no getting ERnie quieted down. The realtor told V "We have a 7:15-8:15 appt. and he looked at her like she was crazy because it was 7:54 and she said "That's okay, we don't need to see it." Well, what the heck did you make an appt. for and show up at 7:54 if you don't need to see it?!" So, not sure what he has done or said to our realtor but I am sure our realtor said something about it. The guys doesn't want to do his job but the minute I don't take an appoinment, he acts like he is upset. And yeah, if we drop it right now we will lose the money on the other house. That's why we haven't done anything yet. Can't remember if I told you about the day we came home after a showing and the sliding door was left wide open. It's the realtor showing the house that has the responsibility of making sure things are closed and locked up and she didn't even both and believe me she heard about it. Anyway...so tired of talking about that crap so...hope the doctor gave you some good info and can help.

SUSAN...WTG on the pounds gone forever! :carrot: :bravo: And I would say carrot cake counts as a veggie!

HIYA KATHY...I guess I missed it that you guys were going to Disneyworld. Hope you had a GREAT time! Which, I know you did! And you are welcome for the card!

MINDEE...try and take it easy with the moving. Ooopsie! I made a booboo! :o I sent you a card to the new address! :yikes: Wasn't thinking about the dates. For some reason I was thinking this Tuesday was the 2nd of May-not sure where my head is. :dunno: So I mailed it too early. Oh well, if you don't get it somehow I will just mail another. *slaps forehead*

SUE...WTG on the walking. I would defiinitely do more or try something different if you are not losing. But keep up the good job with your walking!

MARTI...I can't remember you asking about the wATP videos before. But then I have the CRC disease like LakeGirl! I can't remember crap either! But no you don't have to have a treadmill to do them. It's basically just walking in place but she throws some extra stuff in there. You really do get quite a work out using them. I still use mine on occasion, but have been using the treadmill more and trying to walk outdoors, weather permitting. About Jhanai not knowing how to ride a bike...I would think her being bigger now would make it easier to learn, that is if she wants to. It would probably be easier for her to balance herself now than when she was little. I need to dig mine out of storage.

JACQUE...my brothers used to be truck drivers. They have all worked for moving companies at one time or another. The one worked for other companies as well. Years ago my dad worked for a propane company, always worried something was going to happen to him but never did. Don't think one slice of pizza will kill ya. As long as you don't go overboard and jump right back ont he wagon.

GINNY...our weather turned cold today! Brrrr...we had those bad thunderstorms yesterday with hail and it cooled off. 50 doesn't seem cold but with that wind blowing it is! I'm glad though that the temps are more close to normal than it has been the last week or so. Too early for the 80's and 90's.

HI to everyone else! I hope I didn't miss anyone, I'm sure I did-always do. Just too many posts to catch up on.

Anyway, not feeling so great today. Woke up with a terrible, terrible sinus headache. Apparently those darn allergies finally caught up with me. But...as bad as I felt, I still went to It Figures. 3 times around = 30 mns. but I did a little more since I wouldn't be walking today. Definitely felt it in my rear and legs when doing the squats, OUCH! Felt kind of sore today though, maybe all those 3 mile walks :dunno: I should have started slow and worked my way up. Oh well, already got started and can't quit now. So, just gotta keep on truckin'! That's about all I have. Nothing special going on, same old stuff every day. Thinking WEdnesday will be my free day rather than Sunday, not sure yet. It's my big shopping and errand running day and just don't know where I will fit in any exercise. Some days are not as busy as others but this week will be. We'll just have to wait and see. Anyway...I'll try to be back later so I don't get so far behind.

Take care ladies and have a GREAT day!

Marti 04-25-2006 04:44 PM

A quick update on the gazelle...

It's a no do today! I have three old men and one youngin out in my back yard getting ready to cut down a tree. This is the last of the VERY tall ones. The rest are just oaks. This one is a douglas fir.

Kind of feel nervous when I see these guy here. Don't want my house destroyed! Cars are out in the street now!

Ok...off I go, I will get some exercise in tomorrow if I survive the stress!:dizzy:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...et_byannie.jpgHI LADIES
I'm just popping in for a minute to say Hi

HI CRISTI....
People can be so inconsiderate, they are only concerned about their own agenda's. I can't imagine anyone jumping on my furniture. I would be fuming as I told you before. There is no reason for that and no excuse for people to allow their children to act that way in someone else's home. I hope whatever happens for you , happens soon so you can go back to a peaceful existance , dealing with normal day to day issues that we all have. It makes me never want to move again :lol:where would I put my kitties for showings :?: Nope I think I will stay here unless something significant happens in my life, hopefully for the good not the bad of course  Cristina I see your another one professing carrot cake to be a veggie. :nono:  Well I hope your feeling better and the rest of your day goes well.

MARTI....
I am holding my breath for you  check in later so I know you and your house are still standing

Marti 04-25-2006 07:53 PM

My house is still standing. But the tree is not. :D :D

The guy who cut it said it was about 92ft tree. That's pretty tall.

Anyway, they are finally gone for the day, and I have to get to work. Glad that I was home to move the car......and to think, I was suppose to have the new shift!
(I'm talking about my toyota, not the Chrysler)

Talk to you all later!

(oh Ellen....I was just teasing about the poem.....don't worry about that. I wish you'd make a book out all your poems and send me a copy! You're so talented there!)

Mom2Gaby 04-25-2006 09:01 PM

The selling of your home sounds so stressful Cristi. Hope you are feeling better tonight.

My day in a nut shell.......

Wasted......lol

No.

Ummmm, couldn't get Rach up for school at first and when she did she threw a lamp at the living room window and smashed it (the window) to smither,,,,,,eens. Is that how you spell that? It was a horrible sound.

Gaby went to school on her bus and was happy.

I went to work and was distracted. I only came out of my trance at lunch time. We had beef, potatoes and blueberry cheesecake. I call this a fruit and of course I ate it - plus the 2 rolls. It is stress...... no .....that is not a excuse.....it is a reason,,,,,,hehe.

So, finally Doug gave his ok for Rach to go to the 28 treatment place (it cost $3000 a day! - thank goodness for insurance) and that is where she is at tonight. I have to make a 2nd trip (11 miles 1 way) to take her some clothes. Pooped.

Maybe with her safe and sound I can focus on taking care of my weight and exercising. There was a saying I just saw......."After me, you first".....meaning, we need to take care of ourselves first. Nice thought, huh?

Anyway, I better get busy. I can't find any of Rachels pants......geez.

Chat later

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...4559_547_4.gifSORRY SUSAN
That's terrible, I feel so sorry for you having to go through this with your daughter, I don't know what to say honestly I am tongue tied. I have never gone through anything like that with either of my kids. I can imagine how relieved you are tonight to know she is safe and sound , getting the help she obviously needs. I hope Gaby wasn't there when that happened , it must have frightened her if she was  I hope after you get her things to her, you can get some much needed rest. What did she say, is she angry about being at the treatment center. POOR SUSAN I wish I lived close to you, maybe I could help, I don't know how, but I wish I could somehow. Well you have a good long sleep, and we will chat tomorrow:hug:
