Hello ladies!!

It was a total Jhanai weekend this weekend. She has been sick for the last couple weeks. Spent her entire Spring Break ill. She has an inhaler to get the medicine to her lungs. Anyway.....I just spent my weekend holding her and cuddling on the couch. She never got out of her jammies!!

Michelle--Hello & Welcome!! I am also from Oregon, but a couple hours south of you, Katy, and Susan. Hope you enjoy or neck of the woods. Looking forward to getting to know you.

Katy--Let's trade yards!! Yours sounds so pretty and relaxing! I really need to tend to it this year. James and I are going to try and kill off the weeds and plant grass. Need to have a real lawn!

Jules--So what tips can you give us for getting more organized?? I need to get more organized here at home. Seems like I get it cleaned up well enough.....just don't organize like I want to.

Angie--Onions would be great to grow...carrots on the other hand, don't grow well here. They always tend to be these rinky dinky things. I have never tried growing them myself, but my family has. Would like to have a huge herb garden just outside my patio door! Fresh herbs would be great!! And they're a lot easier to tend to I've heard......any suggestions?

Jane--Tomatoes might be one I grow. At least a cherry tomato plant!:D Love popping them in my mouth once I pick one. So how far is your house coming along??? I didn't realize it was done enough for you to line cabinets! WOW!! That's fast! I'm comparing this to my sister who had her house started in August....and still hasn't moved in or is close to moving in!

Ginny--I'm still walking...just not as much. And I haven't been wearing my pedometer at work lately. I plan on clocking my mileage more when I change shifts. I have a workout plan that I want to try once my hours change. I'm hoping w/the change...I'll have more energy and feel more motivated to do things!

Susan--Cool pictures of the park! I'm thinking that you and Katy must live near my sons family. He lives in Portland and you all share the same zip code! Your blueberry pancakes sound SO good!!! I need to make some. Gosh...I haven't had blueberry pancakes forever!!! (drooling here.....)

Connie--Sorry to hear about your back! But if the surgery will releive the pain.......Will be thinking of you and your husband! Lots of hugs your way!:hug: :hug: :hug:

Ellen--Good for you on the diet. What are you doing anything in particular?? As for the cheesecake your DD is bringing....I say at least have a couple of bites of it! That way you got to taste it and you won't feel like you're depriving yourself of all good things. You know...I'm going to have to have you find me a cute clipart for my advatar!! You have such pretty ones in your post!

Cristina--I would love to have yellow and blue in a kitchen!! Sounds bright and fun! Right now, my kitchen is green. I like it, but I think I want something brighter.

I just drank my 60 oz's. I am so glad only one more 20 oz. to go! I hate going to the bathroom all the time!
I had a cup of hamburger stew that I brought from home. I made it yesterday with V8 juice. I also went to the store and bought a stuffed tomato with tuna inside. I don't even like tomatoes but it looked good, so I ate that along with an apple for lunch.
I am so tired, I just want to go home!
Marti - How is Jhanai today? Tell James you are chatting with us! Rocky went and got Kris from the mountains Saturday night because he wasn't feeling good. Like a 60 mile trip both ways, the next morning Kris calls at 7 am wanting to do something. Grrrrrrrrr. lol

Cute Gaby ism. Last night I was laying on the bed with Gaby and Mr Jingles. Mr. Jingles was being annoying fluffing his tail in my face. I was talking to Rocky on the phone and he likes to hear Gaby talk so I asked Gaby " do you have a tail? " and she looked behind herself and said " I don't have a tail, I have a butt"......it was the cutest thing.

HI MARTI....I decided this is it, its now or never, I need to get myself going and there is no time like the present am starting on a chicken fish veggies a little fruit and salad diet for starters see how that goes. I have done that before and it worked out really well till I blew it :lol: I think I should invest in a punching bag and when emotional stuff gets the best of me I will just beat the crap out of the bag instead of me :lol: Sorry Jhanai hasn't been feeling well give her big hugs:hug: I am looking forward to getting my garden looking beautiful to, another reason I need to get into shape, its a lot of work .I can exercise while I cut the grass to , since I have a huge yard to cut. HI CRISTI....SORRY you are not feeling yourself, I hope everything is ok. maybe all the stress you have been dealing with is getting you down :hug: Don't worry I will cheer you up ,:D I will if you let me :lol: I'm glad you liked the rug, now I hope I can get it. I have to call the carpet place tomorrow and give him the item number and get the price and details. Its bright , but it will fit perfectly I think , there is a little bit of blue in the couch to, so I thought it would all tie in nicely. I am trying to pull some of the colours from the living room into the kitchen. I think I will make the curtains out of one of the fabrics in the couch ( there are 3) there is yellow ,pink ,green, blue, red, and a little taupe if I remember its been so long since I have seen them and I lost my sample:( .This Saturday is the date, they come, was supposed to be 2 weeks ago but there was some glitch so I had to wait. A lot of the accessories I had will work in the new colour scheme because of the many colours in the fabric, I am happy about that because the red hurricane lamps and candle holders I had my daughter gave me for Christmas and Birthday, and I definitely wanted them in the room. How is the house situation going, or should I ask. Im tired,,,slept funny and have sore neck. Can't look to my left. Monte is really sick...high fever and I want to take him to the Dr. but hre refuses....grrreat.
Work was insane, the computers crashed again, that means no breaks...I thank goodness brought snacks,,,chopped veggies.
well I have to go to a meeting tonight...theatre.

Talked to the surgery scheduler today & my back surgery is set for April 20. I never thought it would be this soon! Soooooo many details to take care of ahead of time. My head is spinning! :crazy:
I had promised to take Chloe to a local production of Beauty & The Beast but now I won't be able to. I am so disappointed. I'll give the tickets to my daughter & she can take her then they can come to the hospital and tell me all about it but it won't be the same. It was to be a "grandma" thing. Oh well at least she will be able to see it.

I ate really light today , not that it allows for cheesecake, but I kind of knew the way today would go.

Hi ladies,

No I am not cheating on another forum... I had a very stressful day yesterday, I saw the surgeon in the afternoon, had to run some errands, my car was making horrible noises, had to stop and get it fixed so I could get home.....and a few other things I don't wish to speak about...by the time I got home I had a migraine. I felt so bad I didn't even ride my bike. So tonight I'll have to see if I can get in an extra mile to make up for it.

I don't have anything to say this morning, I have to get going early. I have to walk to work this morning. Usually ride in with dh but he is going on a delivery later this morning, and the van is so full there is no room for me or my dog... yes my dog goes to work with me everyday.. I am a midwestern red neck. What can I say.

Ginny, all man you had a Manic Monday.... hope your day goes better today. If I could take Skittles to work with me I would. I personally know it would help with stress,,,,but then again it might add to it since shees not a people peson and I would have to worry about her biting someone from work.

Connie, wow that is fast...and your going to have how long of a down time? How long in the hospital? Thats too bad about Beauty and the Beast. One of the theatre companies is doing that and I want to go see it.

Well the neck doesn't feel as stiff, Monte sounds a bit better, yet I didnt' sleep well, with listening to him. My meeting went well, all in on plan.
I ate chopped veggies all day....
After work I have to go and copy my PI id and DL, seems my PI boss landed a huge contract and needs to keep me on, but I was tough when I said noooo surveillance jobs anymore. Im holding out for the big case..

HELLO,HELLO. No, I have not been cheating on the group. I couldn't even stay online to try to cheat. LOL. Computer troubles again. I am using DH's laptop and I do not like it. Two nights ago I wrote out nice long individuals and my computer "timed out" which it has never done. UGH.

Yes, I am supervising the new house. Actually it is going great. The foundation will be done today and then the framing will begin. I am getting anxious about selling our house now. It is scary to think it might not sell.

I know there are several on here that have been or are ill, having surgey or loved ones having surgery. My thoughts are with all of you. My dear Mom is having surgery on Fri. and has had a rough 6 weeks. I will be with her at the hospital as long as she has to stay. She, of course, thinks she is coming home the next day, but I am unsure. She is having a bypass of an artery in her groin.

I have been close to OP..and even walking as I should. So far the winter weight has come off and I am back to square one. :) I AM drinking and pottying lots..no problem there.

Ellen and Susan...I would like to lose 30 pounds with you two.

Gaby went to school this morning, she was thrilled. So happy and excited with the bus. She did the instructions so she can ride home today on the bus and Papa Doug will pick her up from my place.

Anyway, working on my water. Hate it, always will! Thinking of buying some walking shoes if I get the bonus on Thursday. I really need good walking shoes otherwise I can't exercise. *whaaa *whaaaa what a tough life.

Hello ladies,

Well, today went much better. It is beautiful out 70 degrees F. here, I walked home again after work. It felt good and my doggie loves it. My doggie is almost 14, he has liver problems and has lost tons of weight. We don't figure he'll be around to much longer. So we have spoiled him rotten. Course we would have anyway... but when I open my retail center in another week he has to retire and stay home. He is quite deaf and has cataracts so his eye sight is not to good unless he is really close, and I don't want him getting run over in the parking lot or anything. For now he just sleeps under the benches or on a mattress I have for him down there. The sun on his old bones must feel good.

Christina, thank you for the Easter card. That is so sweet of you.
Angie, glad Monte is doing better. Do like I do, send him to the guest room when he is a noisy sleeper. How is the neck feeling?
Ellen, love your clipart.. I tried to find some but didn't want to spend a long time downloading things I didn't really know what they were. Also, ok, the cheese cake is gone and now you can begin in ernest. I would like to join the 30 pound challenge, but I don't usually do good under challenges.. but maybe with all the encouragement in here, I can do it this time...

Connie, you and your hubby still in my prayers. Also, Sue's mom. My mil is getting weaker and her memory is getting worse. Today would have been her 76th wedding anniversary if her dh was alive..he has been gone 26 yrs. now.. I told my sil to tell her the date and see if it sparked any memories... haven't heard back yet.

WEll, they scheduled my colonscopy for July 7. The exam was something else. But I have to say he was thorough.

Well, need to go finish some laundry I started this morning and get some supper going, dh will be home hungry in about an hour. Then I will go ride my bike. :ebike: I actually missed doing it last night. But felt too icky.:stress:

I had food, I feel so much better!
I had a delish Nicoise Salad from Trader Joes with lettuce, tuna,green beans, tomatoes, 1 hard boiled egg, green onions, arugula, capers. I don't know what the last 2 things are but there was something in the salad that looked like deer poops. I ate them and they were salty??
Anyway, it was 130 calories and I skipped the dreassing - had 16 grams of protein, so I was happy with that.
I also found some low fat soy pretzels and had a few of those. Feel SO much better!

Doug waited for Gaby at the bus stop. She got off and ran to him. She was very happy and excited. Can't wait to see her!! Chow!

Hello girls!

Been busy as can be today. I had to run to town and get some errand done. Needed to clean up my floors! Wood floors collect dust bunnies like no tomorrow!!

James reserved our hotel last night. Very excited to go. I would like to lose at least 5lbs before I go. I think that's totally doable.:D

Been eating lightly. I had a pasta salad today. Very good. And I have been drinking lots of water. Seems like I'm just really dehydrated and can't get enough sometimes, and other times....can't stand to look at it!:dizzy:

Weighed in yesterday, I'm up a bit, 147lbs. Could be worse. Just need to work on it more. With summer just around the corner....I better get the body moving!

Just a quickie, I misspoke earlier, it would have been my mil's 70th wedding anniversary, fil died 20 yrs ago.. in fact he died the evening before their 50th anniversary. We had given them a party the Sunday before, it was an open house and there were so many people, his parents had had a little mom and pop general store for a number of years and knew lots of people. A week later they were all returning for his funeral.

Ok, don't want to depress anyone just remembering here. Just got done riding my bike 8 miles and took a shower. Should be tired but for some reason I am not that bad.

Nothing to post, just wanted to amend my earlier post.

Marti,where are you going on your trip? You are doing good with your water. For some reason I just can't drink that much, I am doing better but still have a long way to go with it.

My adventures in MySpace.....

OK - so my friend Kathryn popped by yesterday. We knit and chatted for awhile and she referred to her blog....on MySpace. So I signed up today, mostly out of curiosity, but may be interested in blogging at some point about parenthood, knitting, and the like. I have nothing better to do :dizzy: But all the rejection scenarios of my youth came flooding back, what if I invite people and nobody shows? :yikes: Turns out I don't really need to invite anybody because already people seem to be finding me. I think they are a little pervy, maybe because the thumbnail picture is my profile photo...I think I'm attracting a distinctly non-knitting crowd. I just got a message from a guy called Sir Galaxie who said I reminded him of his granddaughter. Ok - is that sweet...or creepy....anybody's guess at this point.

This will be interesting. At least when my son wants to get on MySpace to chat with his friends, I will know what he is talking about. I am impressed with the privacy controls...there are quite a few should one choose to use them.

Marti - yay! The vacation is a reality....we felt the same way after we booked our rooms at Ashland; it's really going to happen and we have something to look forward to.

Jane - Oh the advantages of living in a small town :) It would have been a major pain to send out change of address forms for moving 50 feet away.

Susan - your dinner sounded so yummy! I bet Gaby had a great day at school....it's a big day for her!

I had a salad and tea, wasn't the most enjoyable but it was a respectable meal. Don't worry about the cookies , if I had some I would be eating them to thats for sure. Dust bunnies are evil Susan, they somehow sneak into my house and scare Skittles. Some days I see her running back and forth like a cheetah, I think the bunnies are chasing her.

Ginny--As Susan mentioned...I'm going to San Fran in July and it's for our Anniversary. Our Anniversary was in March, but we didn't have time off available then....so we made it for July. So we'll spend the 4th down there. Should be fun.

Susan--I love eating from Trader Joes!! I used to get bags of Oriental Rice Crackers.....always craved those. I haven't gotten any in months! It's raining here again. Looks gloomy out but I think it's still warm. Leaving my dog home today, he isn't doing to good. Poor thing, we have to start considering the big plan but I hate to think about it. He is my last pet of any kind, I can't take this anymore.

Marti, that is right, I remember now. SF you'll love it. I know what you mean about making time for a vacation. Our anniversary is next weekend, but we can never do anything much because we have to work. Although 2 yrs ago my dh stole me away to an adult hotel for the night. He wouldnt' tell me where we were going, just told me to pack an overnight bag and we took off work at noon. It was a very cozy small inn, it had a kingsize bed with a canopy and mirror on the top of it, *didn't care for that part*, a fireplace in the corner, a hot tub for two in the room, no phones. Dinner and breakfast for two were included. IT was so romantic. Then the next day when we returned we got word our new grandbaby was making an appearance. So we went to the hospital, got there just in time to hear her first cries. Within 10 minutes of her birth I was holding my new granddaughter. Oh sweet memories.
Anyway, Marti I hope you two have a great time.

Jane, already into the new house.. boy do I envy you having a new house, but notthe moving part. I have so much stuff in this house I can't even imagine moving it..course if I did, I think I would get rid of all of it, and start fresh.. did you start fresh? To bad you can't take your granddaughter to the show...Beauty and the Beast.. I was in New York in June of 2001, I saw Beauty and the Beast on Broadway.. It was the highlight of our trip. I loved it.

Well, dh just called, I need to find some things for work. So I best be off. Another day is begun.

Do any of you weigh yourself every day? Or weekly? I have a scale, and its holding up a box of stuff in my closet. do you think its better to eigh yourself often,,,keeping track or to occassionally? (by occassionaly I mean once a month)

What kind of salad Ellen? Trader Joes does have wonderful salads and the prices are great. I might walk over today (it is a block away and by the time I got to my car in the parking lot at work I was almost there but I got in the car and drove over - lol ) and get me another one.

Anyway, I had a horrible night and not much into chatting. Rach called me the *C* word and it makes me sick.She gets on the phone with her father and he comes and rescues her. How am I suppose to parent if he can just stroll in any time he wants?? UGH. I took the tv out of her room and she starts crying. Excuse me that is what you get when calling me nasty names.

So, everything makes me sick right now. Even Rocky. Long distance doesn't cut it. It has been a year and a half and we aren't getting any closer. Of course he is stuck out on an island....lol whatEVER.....

I had to come back and answer your scale question. I use to get on the scale every day but noticed it moved on the 5/6 day after being steady all week. Weird.
So, you could weigh every day but I think that is frustrating.
Also, I would consider a new scale. Might be off now that you have been storing things on top of it *roll eyes* I bet you use wire hangers too?? lol

Its raining today, not as warm as yesterday, but its not that black dreary just a lighter shade of gray dreary,(isn't that a song):lol: I had a strange experience last night,one of a few actually :lol:(Susan) but my eyes kind of went haywire on me, there was this white circle with jagged sparkling edges and I couldn' get it to go away could see things around it but not in front. I thought maybe my blood pressure spiked or something ,so I took some aspirin and prayed when I woke up I could see. It was kinda scary, but today its gone for now anyway (NO I HAVEN'T BEEN SMOKING ANYTHING):lol:

Happy sunny Hump day..... Hope everyone is nice and cheery today. I am feeling pretty good. Already walked 2 miles due to it looking like rain earlier. Thought I would get it in just in case of a storm and here it is beautiful now. Took DH lunch to the new lot where he is either working hard or worrying the builder..lol.
My backyard is full of goldfinch! No hummingbirds yet this year though. I hope we have lots of birds at the new house. DH has already seen an Indigo Bunting which I have only had once here.
Susan and Ellen...you both keep me laughing. I think if you lived next to each other you would be such inseperable friends. Good to have long distance friends isn't it?
Jane...YAY! for your move.
Angie...You stay so busy with the plays and everything you do. How do you keep up your energy? Oh well, I forget that most of you ladies are younger than I am. I am just pooped most of the time. LOL
Ginny...I am sorry that you are going to lose your pet. I always hate that part of having the little loves. Right now we don't have any, but would have a small dog if we didn't travel.

I am going to go clean the screened porch so I can open all the windows and feel this wonderful breeze. Later I need to "hoe" the flower beds.

P.S. I have been weighing every day after seeing a report on people who do that losing more weight. Don't believe it... I am going back to once a week...less depressing that way.

I told her we could all move in together (her husband and her, Gaby & me) and she could babysit Gaby for me. She said that wouldn't be a good idea. lol
Anyway, I did find this apt complex on River Rd (very nice road) close to my mothers and a 2 bed is only $610 and a 3 bed is $700. Very nice and across from the grade school. No vacancies though.
No new shoes yet Ellen. Maybe Friday after I get my bonus and payday! I need to go find me a water bottle and start on the water.

Susan... my salad wasn't as good as yours was , just a simple lettuce, cucumber , red pepper , with some croutons with a nice balsamic vinigerette dressing, from Ellens Kitchen. She makes a simple but uncomplicated delectible deliteful dish :lol: Lets go to Angie's according to my reading expertise she has a box of snuff on her scale right now as we speak :lol::rofl:

I'm back, finally! :D

SUSAN & ELLEN...was just down in the dumps, nothing seriously wrong or anything like that. April 10 is the day our baby (son) was born/died and is always a hard day. But with V's BD April 11 I snap out of it to make his day special. He hates his BD now because of April 10 and us spending his BD in 2000 at the funeral home. Our son is always in our thoughts but when that day nears and comes it is still hard-he would have been 6 years old. Anyway...

So that was Monday...Tuesday being V's BD we spent the whole day together like we always do. He always takes off work for his and mine when we have something planned for mine. We went to lunch, did some shopping, got my wedding rings cleaned and went to the show. Saw Inside Job and was bored. Not good like I thought it was going to be. And today I have been running around like crazy. :crazy: Bought groceries this morning and still don't have them put up. LOL Trying to water the lawn and do laundry in between spending some time on the computer.

ELLEN...don't blame ya for not passing on the cheesecake! I wouldn't have either. Your kitchen and living room sound FABULOUS! Can't wait to see the end results!

SUSAN...maybe you should have a talk with Doug and tell him that he can't keep letting Rachel run to him when things don't go her way. But then you probably have already done that huh? Sorry she called you that horrible name. :hug:

MARTI...you and James will have a great time in SF! I think we are headed to Branson for our anniversary next month. That's where we went for our honeymoon because I didn't want to go far from home/kids and I love it there. But when we renewed our vows we went to Eureka Springs, AR and was thinking about going there too. Not both places of course, but one or the other. V is actually taking 3 or 4 days off, or is is 4 or 5??? Can't remember, lol.

JANE...how fun...moving into your new home that is. Have fun decorating and fixing it up!

ANGIE...I weigh once a week...every Monday. Of course, that is...when I remember. It would drive me crazy to weigh every day! Hope your neck is better and Monte is feeling better too!
