OK – January and February are over and so is our 2006 Winter Challenge. Congrats to all who made their goal and to all who made some of their goal and to all that tried at least. Today is a new day and this is a new challenge – a new start – so let’s DO IT … Easter is April 16th so that gives us 6 weeks to get rid of some of our “excess baggage” … So come on in – make your Easter goal … on your mark – get set – GO!
Please check in at least once a week with your progress - if you have a loss, or are the same, or "gained" (remember, confession is good for the soul) ... whatever your goal is just check in and let us all know how you are doing.
I AM going for 10 – 15 lbs! I gave up sweets for Lent (pies, cakes, candies with the exception of my low-carb sugar-free ice cream bars) and am starting to get back in the habit of drinking lots of water again. So, my goal will be to lose at least 10 lbs (or more) and to drink at least 80 oz water daily!
So, what's your goal??? Come on, hope to hear from everyone! Each mini-goal brings us a bit closer to our big goal for 2006! WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!
Okay CJ, I'm all about a challenge! I'm going to set a goal of 187 pounds by Easter morning, which will be a 12 pounds loss. However, I have my doubts that I will be able to figure out how to change my little weight lose meter!
I have a question. Do you really think drinking your 6-8 glasses a day works. I flippin' hate the water rule and I struggle to get that much down a day. Most of the time, I just don't. If it is only "healthy" for me and just do much in the way of actual weight loss, then I am not going to bother to keep trying. If I'm thirsty, I'll drink. I don't drink other stuff in place of it (mostly because I hate diet pop), so I don't know why I'm not thirsty.
OK Missy - good luck on our challenge! To change your weight loss ticker just go up to UserCP - click on Edit Signature and then change where you have your present weight to the new weight and then save signature.
Water: just drink as much as you can as yes it is healthy for you and for me personally I have found that by drinking more water I'm not as bloated feeling and don't tend to want to snack as much. I think it does help in losing lbs.
Howdy all. I am here to post a goal for the Easter Challenge. Missy put my butt in gear. I can find a way to check my weight loss if only once a week or 2 weeks. I think I might be able to walk to my aunt's house and hop onto to her scale to check my progress. Where there's a will there's a way. Plus it gives me a chance to lose something.
Ok.. I am going to challenge myself to lose 5 to 10 lbs in the 5 1/2 weeks before Easter. Plus I am going to add to my goal to drink 60 oz+ of water a day. And try to eat earlier in the night and not eat so late. I will keep you all posted on my progress. Here's to us. Let's get to it.
Howdie everyone! I thought I better get in here and report ... remember, I gave up cakes, pies, cookies, candies for Lent and so far I have been 100% !!!! And, I am happy to report that the scale was down 2 lbs so I changed it on my ticker and profile! I still am working on staying 100% lo-carb .. mmmmm, probably at 80% now but working on it! At least I'm not putting the sugars in my body.
Missy:
Wow - 5 lbs! You're doing great! Keep it up! I'm so proud of you.
Annie:
I'm glad to see you joined us in our Easter challenge! Remember, where there's a will there's a way! And if you have to walk to your aunts house to weigh, that's extra calories burned. You can do this - I know you can!
Well, I sure hope we see more of the group in here soon!
Okay, my starting weight is 302 and I weigh in on Sunday. As far as what my goal is by Easter....hmm, let me think.....My goal is to lose 16 pounds. So by Easter morning I would like to weigh 286 which is how much I weighed seven weeks ago when I went off track and gained back 15 of the 21 pounds I had lost.
Thanks CJ for starting this challenge, we all need this.
I did pretty good on the other challenge and lost weight almost every week, a total of about 8 lbs. So for this one I am just going to just keep on doing what I have been doing. Drinking my water, exercising about every single day and continuing to make good food choices. I have lost as of Wednesday at my WW meeting 41 lbs and I want to try to keep on going down to where I want to be. To be where I want to be for my goal would be another 29 lbs so I will just pledge to do the best I can. This has to be the year to get to my goal.
So I pledge to:
DRINK ALL MY WATER!
EXERCISE AT LEAST 5 OR 6 TIMES A WEEK!
MAKE WISE FOOD CHOICES EVERYDAY!
That is it, good luck to everyone!
WE CAN DO THIS!
Missy-Wow good job on losing those 5 lbs,
CJ-Good for you giving up those treats. I find that once I don't eat sugar I don't miss it and just get my sugar with natural things like fruit.
teahoney-Yes Yes Yes, YOU WILL DO THIS, I just know it! Remember one day at a time!
AnnieFannie-You have a wonderful postive outlook. You will make it!
Hello everyone.. I am new here and wanted to get in on the easter challenge.. I am thinkin I would like to go for at least 10 - 15.. Getting to the 200 mark would be so cool.. anyways.. i'm off to read some more post.. this is such a cool place.. thanks..
Welcome to our Easter challenge Angel Girl - good luck on your goal and please post with us often - also, we would love to have you join us on our regular Thin Wannabees chit chat threads. Looking forward to getting to know you more and again, good luck on your Easter goal.
Ok so I have been doing totally crappy on my challenge goals so far. I haven't been out walking much because I got sick on Sunday with a sinus infection. Plus some other factors have gotten in the way of it too. I am having a self loathing party for myself I guess. I am just totally down on myself for not being able to find a job. DH got one and started this week. He likes it which is a good thing. I mean maybe I am a bit jealous of him. I have been very crabby and Witchy lately.( I think you know what I mean.) That I have been taking it on him. I am not trying to. Just so many factors are eating at me right now that I feel like I just want to melt away. I think if we get into our own place it will help some, but seeing my kids would sure help. I just need to win the lottery or something. Not that that would help everything, but it would be a start. I just want something good to happen to me. I want things to start going in the right direction up. Well, obviously I want the scale to go down. I am really going to put a conscious effort in this coming week to be happy and make things work. I want to get down on the scale. I know alot of my unhappiness has to do with low self esteem and feeling that I am unworthy of anything. Sometimes I just feel like I am meant to be unhappy. I dont know. But I am going to make things turn around some how. Sorry for venting. Just guess I am in a venting mood today. I posted in general chatter about not seeing my kids and some of the things the ex is putting them through. I just needed to get it off of my chest. Thanks for listening gals. I so appreciate it.
Love, Annie

Hey guys, I have been doing good on this challenge so far. Lost 2 more pounds, it is coming off slow but sure. So far down 43 pounds, and the good part is that I am doing what I said I would doing, drinking my water and exercising about every single day, nomatter what. I have been really trying to make good food choices too so I am happy about that. I know if I do that all, the weight will come off because of it.
