  • yup, one of my main reasons for wanting to lose wait is to be able to run around with my son, he's 6 now and i so much want to be able to kick a football round the park with him. and urgh the hot weather is the worst, its ok for skinny people who can go out in teeny tiny clothes but wen ur obese and hauling around so many insulating layers of jiggley fat its sooo much hotter. weathers just starting to warm up here, gosh im dreading the summer again, constantly hot and sweaty and out of breath urgh! id love to hibernate for the summer and come out again in winter wen its nice and cold and i can breathe lol.
  • ooh ello meowee u posted just as i wos replying to diana, u wanna swap...give me ur cold and rain and u can have the sun lol
  • I have been lurking for about a month and would really like to join you all on your quest. You all are so genuinely supportive which has really impressed me. That is what I have been looking for. Trying to do this alone is not working well.

Hope you all have a great evening.
  • Happy Monday!
Good evening ladies! Phewww! I finally have a few moments to myself. My brother left today and after he left I started changing bedding, washing, and trying to tidy up the house. I never did get to the mountain of ironing I have to do. Hubby did a few tonight to help me out. Overall I had a great weekend visiting with all the family. A lot of home cooked traditional food. I did my best to be good and make good choices, but I would say it wasn't all good, tasty but may be not low in calories..hehehe! It feels good to be back on program today and that means gettting back to here. Sorry for not being around girls, I hope you all had a great Easter holiday! Now I need to do some catching up....

Lois, great to hear that you're getting back to yourself. Congrats on making your second mini goal! Awesome news!

Liza, thanks for the compliment! Through reading the posts you're doing well. You are motivating too! (that was too funny about the big losers "tina and robsia")

Robsia, you are doing fantastic! Size 14's! I got to get those numbers dropping in multiples too. I started reading your novel, there's only one problem....you need to finish it fast so I can buy my copy! It's really good! You're really talented. You should be proud of yourself.

Robbin, let us know how that new recipe turned out! Sounds like my hubby would love it! Happy to hear excercising is coming a little easier for you.

Linda, I wouldn't mind having some rain here. We need a little to start watering the grass and trees and make things turn green! Hope you're feeling more cheery despite the weather! I'm sure you've got the water retention demon in your scale. Don't worry it'll come off again. Hang in there!

Diana, sounds like you got the motivator bug and that is great news! To be honest I knew the last time you were around that you weren't ready yet. The desire was there but the umph to stick it out wasn't. I felt so bad for you and tried to give you all I had because I knew the situation you were in and how you were feeling. It sucks when you want something so bad but the temptation wins you over all the time. I'm glad to see you back, like I said...I often thought about you. Congrats on your loses so far...keep it coming. As for me well... you can see by my ticker I've lost 39lbs. so far. I hit one plateau it lasted 14days...the scale did not move a bit!! Uggghhh..I thought I was going to go crazy. I ended up doing some research on plateaus and how to break them. It basically adds up to switching up your routine and zig-zagging your caloric intake. One thing I've learned is that your body is a fantastic stabilizer. It will get used to your new routine and the calories it's given, it'll get used to burning less so it can store more. If that makes any sense.

Michelle, welcome to the group! Nice to see some new faces here! I look forward to getting to know you and taking this journey with you.

GettingREAL, welcome to you aswell! Just jump right in and make yourself cozy! We're in this together!

Well I best be getting off...every once in a while my husband says "you're still typing?!"...I was FAR behind in my reading and replying! See you all in the A.M. Have a great night!

    ~Tina
  • Good Morning, chickies . . . daylight has come to us again. Although it is still raining and it is still cold and now we've added very windy into the mix. Oh isn't Spring grand . . .

Liza . . . believe me girl, I want sunny and warm . . . not hot. I hate the hot sticky summer stuff too. In July and August I'll be whining for a cool, refereshing rain. What can I say . . . I want 22C (71F), with sunny days and rainy nights (between midnight and 5AM) all year long . . . other than that . . . hey, I'm not fussy.

Here's a great big welcoming for you Real. Glad you came out of 'lurkdom'. We all look forward to travelling down this winding road with you. The struggle toward better health and fitness is definitely never going to be easier but the support from this group certainly helps to lighten the load. We can all make it, with a bunch of help from our cyber-friends. Post often.

Tina . . . thanks for the encouragement . . . I know the water will eventually flush away . . . I just hope it's sooner rather than later. Really glad your Easter dinner was great (even if it wasn't quite so 'great for you'). None of us can be perfect all the time . . . not only would that be boring but we'd miss out on all the great companionship going on in here because if we were perfect we wouldn't need to be here in the first place.

Have a great day, gang. Let's all keep moving and shaking in the downward direction. See you soon.
  • Hey, guys. I know this is a bad thing to do, but in weighing daily (I can't stay off the scales atleast once a day) I'm up a pound today. I"m sure it's probably not a whole pound, but my scales that only read in whole pounds say it is. I'm at 3 lbs today. We went out to eat last night. I did pretty well, but over all I was either right at my point target or maybe a point or two over (not really, though, with flex points). I figured it wouldn't hurt since I was so far under day before yesterday. Now I'm up a pound! I think I'm just stuck in the 230's forever and ever!!! I guess I sound like I get discouraged pretty easily, huh? I'm not letting it get me down, though. I know tomorrow will be a better day. I'm really hoping for 5 lbs in my first week, though. I know that won't happen every week, but with the water you are supposed to lose the first 2-3 weeks, I feel like I should lose 5/wk at first. My week will be Thursday. I'm praying it says 5 gone day after tomorrow. I've gotta get off my hiney, though. I'll be at work today, though, so that shouldn't be an issue.
Hope everyone has as good of a day as I plan to have!
  • Meowee I really wish you could send some of that coolness and rain my way. Here in Oklahoma we are in the middle of a drought. We are behind in rain by 15 inches and it is supposed to be up to 94f today.

Tina Glad to hear you had a good time with your family. Don't worry about bein "bad" for just one weekend. You are doing so great and have great will power you know you will be dropping pounds again in no time.

Real I haven't been with the group for very long myself but let me say that this is one great group of ladies. Everyone here makes me feel good about myself and give me great motivation. So welcome to the group and remember we are all here for you.

Yesterday is the first time I went to the store with a sweet tooth since I have started this journey. I ended up buying some fat free fig newtons. Good right, LOL if I had stuck to the normal serving it would have been but newtons are one of my downfalls. One serving is 2 newtons, I had 6. There are 90 calories in 2 so Ding-Bat me I added 270 calories to my daily total of 1173, which was a good total. I think I am gonna have to send the newtons to work with my hubby.

I didnt make the seafood lasagna over the weekend but it is planed for tomorrow's dinner. Tonight we are having home made french bread pizza. I am going to have only veggies with fat free cheese on low fat french bread.

Well girls hope everyone has a great day, I will check back later
  • Oh, Diana, that is exactly why I cannot get on the scale everyday. I cannot handle those ups and downs. I'm still over my little Sunday fiasco.

I certainly know where you're coming from, Robbin. That's my biggest problem. I tend to eat too much of a good thing. Even if it is lower fat, lower sugar, lower calories, it's only marginally better if you can't manage portion control. But look on the bright side . . . at least it is marginally better. Some improvement is better than none. You probably would have eaten six of the full-fat kind too. So think of the calories you saved.

    Have fun, gang.
  • urgh im tired today please someone tell me to get off my fat behind and get working out lol
  • Go, Liza, Go Liza, Go Liza
  • Liza, GET OFF YOUR "FULLER" BOTTOM AND DO SOME EXERCISE!! Hahaha...you asked for it! Just tell yourself if you finish your workout you have all the time in the day to relax. Just give yourself the few minutes it takes to do what you NEED to do.

Linda, yes I agree. I would pass up "perfect" anytime for a chance to come here and be with you all and helping me get through this weight loss challenge.

Dianna, what ever you do...HIDE THAT SCALE! Get your hubby to do it for you. If you feel like it's going to get you down if there is a little bump up then it's the best thing to do until you're stronger. You're doing so great so far, keep up the good work and it's bound to come off!

Robbin, your sweet tooth is satisfied with fig newtons? Good Lord I would be so lucky! But you're right, if you feel that you can't stop at what you would like to...then best the temptation is outta sight outta mind.

I've got my walking finished and started on my water. Feeling really motivated so far today. I went grocery shopping yesterday and bought a lot of fruit. I'm so tempted to have some now but I want to wait till lunch. Who would of ever thought I'd be craving the fruit in the fridge rather than the cake or cookies. It wouldn't of happened four and half months ago.

Well have a great fat burning day girls! Catch you all later!
    ~Tina
  • Good Morning Everyone ~ WOW there is a lot of posting going on here! I really love this group and look forward to getting to know all of you better. Right now, it's hard to keep track of everyone and everything, but I will in no time. You all are so encouraging and motivating and that's what is needed to keep us all going! Some days it can get very discouraging, but then we can come her and immediately become motivated! There are so many pounds being lost here and I love seeing that, because it makes me know I can do it too! Thank you all for your positiveness and kind words, and I hope everyone has a great day...
  • lol thanks meowee thanks tina
popped in to update my ticker cos just did my 2miles
    have a great day y'all
  • Well thought I would pop in to say good night to everyone. I am sitting here at the computer with my 5 year old son brushing my hair. Ouch he is a little rough. LOL he is crazy also, said something about putting ketchup in my hair.

Well I guess it is time to get out my mini wieghts(2lbs) and do a little work-out before I get into bed.

See you all in the morning.
  • Hey everyone, just popping in for the night. I'm about to finish the pile my husband started (ironing) and watch a little bit of TV for an hour. Then it's off to do my BL dvd. I had a good day. And might I say one of the best stir-frys I have ever made! And I didn't use a recipe...hehe! Anyone who knows me, knows I am not a meal winger...I'm a follower. I made so much that it'll be leftovers tomorrow.

Michelle, it certainly is easier when you have someone going through the same thing as yourself. It makes for the saying "I know what you mean..." hit a little more real. I'm glad you like it here and not to worry it won't take long before you get us straightened out.

Liza, YayYY!! I'm glad you managed to pull yourself up and get that butt moving. I knew you could do it!

Robbin, LOL! Your son is too funny. My daughter has to be begged to play with my hair. You would think that being a girl she love to play hairdresser and get revenge on me for making her sit through her hair getting done. She is a handful some mornings.

    Have a great night girls!
    ttfn!
    ~Tina
