I love Criminal Intent! I'm a sucker for shows with really interesting characters. To me, the CSI type shows are like car accidents; you don't think you should stare at them, but you can't look away.

Fascinating stuff sometimes.
Cowpeach, you do sound stressed out! I didn't realize you were doing practice teaching. That's some lesson -- rulers and rubber bands.

Sounds really low budget. Hope it went well. I guess it's good to know how to teach stuff with no resources, eh?

That's for sure -- I joined a local walking program a couple of years ago and it is a good way to drag yourself out there and do it. Unfortunately the program they have around here is sponsored by the hospital and it only runs for 6 weeks at a time, once a week. It's too easy to just stop when the 6 weeks are up. I know people still walk the halls of the high school; I occasionally see them there when I'm there for something else. It's kind of like mall-walking I guess (we don't have a mall). But I definitely need someone there to say Do This!
We had a great trip to Boston (except for the driving with DH part). We tried to go to a Red Sox game at Fenway Park, but couldn't get tickets. Even scalped tickets. So we went to our favorite Italian restaurant instead, with obligatory stop at Mike's Bakery for canoli. Ahhh.
The college visits were very worthwhile. DD stayed in the dorm at Tufts the first night and we had various things we could go to the next day, classes, panel discussion etc. She was very enthusiastic about Tufts after that. Yesterday we went to Emerson which was totally different, but also interesting. They treated every single admitted student and parent to lunch at the Radisson Hotel ballroom -- a sit-down 3 course meal! They also had their welcome presentation at their very own theater,
the Majestic, which is a restored original Broadway type theater right in the theater district. The place is absolutely gorgeous. They put on a couple of numbers from their spring musical--Grease, which was playing this week, before the "welcome speeches". Good move on their part! Still, I think DD is realizing that going there would be rather limiting in her case, not as academically challenging as she would like, although it would certainly be creatively challenging and their facilities are top notch.
DH is so obsessed with this college decision that he's driving me

nuts, and probably DD too. DD is spending today with the bf and his family at a family gathering (most of the time will be spent driving), and I told her she should take a break from the college stuff and just clear her head and have some fun with her friends. DH, on the other hand, went online and printed out a sheaf of info and statistics on each school for her to take along and read.

And she's such a good kid and so conscientious that she won't just say "Stop it already!" I mean, seriously, the guy needs a job.
