wow feels like i have been gone forever! two new poeople. WELCOME

CONGRATS to Bren. a NEW Baby!!! That is very exciting and as you say thing do happen fo a reason. My baby just turned 16.

Happy anniversary to Cassy. how many for you? I am coming up on 22 in May. Boy time flies when you're havin fun.

So I am going to go weigh in tomorrow at WW. I tried not to weigh myself this morning but I did. We will see what their scale shows. I am putting mine away so I don't see it everyday when I come into my computer room. Maybe that will keep me honest. I was following the core plan this week and did ok on it. Usually I have used up all of my 35 extra points by sat afternoon amd I still had some on Tue!!! woo hoo I think it is finally starting to sink in. I was slack on the excercize thing but I did walk my dog.

Easter-----yikes all that chocolate and like most of the rest of you ladies I am near my tom--would kill for chocolate some days. I keep eating bananas as they are the only thing I can get the 'sweet' fix from. I think it may be helping. but i already decided that I am not cooking a big mea for easter. My mom is elderly so I alway cook for all the occasions. We are suppose to hit 16-18 celcius so I want to BBQ and do salad. Lite dessert. oh I almost forgot to give you guys that totally awesome brownie recipe. I will send it on the next comment so you can make it for easter is need be. I honestly is sooooooo good yumm yumm yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm :)

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to check in with yall. Today was a good day for me stayed away from all sweets :carrot: A few more days like today and i just may be able to kick the sweet tooth out lol Although I am with ya Crystal on the sudaes today was a day for one. :hungry:

:woo: CONGRATULATIONS Bren, I wish you all the best with the new bundle and I think you staying here with us is a great idea (we need all the support we can get). I know how you feel on wanting a second child but not so soon....my little angel Sarah was born on Dec. 30th and my son Sullivan will be 3 in May.

TryinAgain5402 04-13-2006 08:32 AM

Congratulation Bren on the baby! New babies are wonderful news!

Thank you Sandy for the brownie recipe - i can't wait to go home and try it!

This TJ excercise program - is it low impact? Time to hit google and find more info; so many of you are endorsing it. Does the hubby do it too or is it just for women in the family?

Have a great one!

TryinAgain5402 04-13-2006 08:44 AM

I need help with the Hubby! He's such a wonderful man; but just sent me flowers and a chocolate & cookies basket for Easter! He knows for health reasons how much i need to lose this weight, but somehow has it in his mind that food is a reward!

rivey 04-13-2006 10:49 AM

Good morning everyone. Hope this finds everyone well. I am feeling pretty strong this morning on the diet wagon, not slips since Tuesday :) now I just need to move more lol

Barbara I am not sure what to tell ya on the hubby thing cause my other half (:) I am the better half) does not seem to care or help with support. I hope that you look at his jester as the old fashion way of telling you he loves you and maybe suggest that he give you things like a massage or gift card for new (smaller) clothes next time...no bad food allowed

Sandy the brownies sound great think I will keep that recipe for later on in my journey

Have a great day everyone.....keep your head up we will get over the weight mountain together

Sandi D 04-13-2006 10:54 AM

Sandi D 04-13-2006 10:59 AM

I grew up with "food" as a reward and I was raisingm y 3 boys that way too, and when My husband died. The year or 2 following his death, I guess I was more of zombie then I thought, It was easier to buy Mcdonalds then to cook, it made them happy and less to think about for me and do. So now We are all fat and now we are doing a family diet. My oldest never needed to lose weight, and he is sorta on his own, my 15 year old lost 30 lbs and looks so much better, my 12 year old who has more to lose is a little slower to lose, but he lost about 20 lbs. I cant wait till he sees the loss, it will help. My sister who I share the hoome with lost 25 lbs.

SANDI D.. MY SISTER USED TO LIVE IN THE BIG APPLE TOO.. THERE ARE SO MANY DELIGHTFUL THINGS TO EAT ON EVERY CORNER! I LOVE IT THERE!!! IT IS SOO GOOD YOU ALL ARE LOSING TOGETHER. IT HELPS WHEN IT IS A GROUP EFFORT AND YOU CAN GET THE WHOLE HOUSE IN COMPLIACE WITHOUT MAKING FOLKS MAD! I AM SO SORRY TO HEAR THAT YOU LOST YOUR HUSBAND, BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE A GREAT SUPPORT NETWORK AT HOME-THAT IS SUCH A BLESSING IN TIMES LIKE THAT.

BARBARA..I THINK THAT YOUR HUSBAND WOULD UNDERSTAND IF YOU MAKE CHANGES IN THE HOUSE SO THAT HIS CHOICES WOULD BE YOUR CHOICES BY DEFAULT. I KNOW IT IS HARD TO TELL HIM ABOUT A GIFT, MY HUSBAND WORRIES SO MUCH OVER A GIFT FOR ME AND I WOULD HATE TO TELL HIM THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH IT! I WOULD TELL HIM SOMETHING LIKE " THE CANDY LOOKED SO GOOD! BUT I WILL SAVE IT FOR A REWARD AFTER I LOSE SOME WEIGHT" IT SOUNDS LIKE HE A SWEETHART SO I AM SURE HE WOULD UNDERSTAND. TJ IS LOW IMPACT. THEY HAVE SOMEONE ALWAYS DOING THE SAME WORKOUT LOW IMPACT IN EVERY EXCERSICE. THERE IS ONE CHICK ON THERE THAT LOST 75 LBS AND HER FEET NEVER LEFT THE GROUND! MY HUBBY REFUSES TO DO TJ CAUSE OF THE DANCING, NOT MANLY FOR HIM;) SO HE GOES TO THE GYM SAT, SUN AND MON AND DOES TAE BO WHEN HE CANT GET THERE. THERE ARE MEN IN THE VIDEO THAT ARE DOING TJ BUT HUBBY REFUSES TO EVEN WATCH IT!

RIVEY..HEY GIRL!! GLAD YOU ARE FEELING STRONG TODAY! AND CONGRATS ON NO SLIPS SINCE TUES..NOW WE WILL DANCE:carrot: :carrot:

SANDYYOUR RECIPE SOUNDS DELICIOUS!!! TO MANY CARBS FOR ME THOUGH, I WILL MAKE THEM WHEN I GET IN MY BIKINI:D IT IS 4 YRS MARRIED NOW-TIME HAS REALLY FLOWN BY!

I HAVE BEEN UP ALL DAY DEALING WITH CREDITORS AND I AM BEAT!!! I AM TAKING A DAY OFF FROM TJ AND WILL P/U TOMMORROW.

SMOOCHES YALL!!!

Bren; Congratulations!!! How exciting for you :O)
Sandy; Can I eat that recipe in one sitting?!?! I could really devour some chocolate right now...Inhale it actually!!
Amanda; Tomorrow is Friday.. Yipeeee!! I can hardly wait, I'll probably wake up at 12am just to weigh myself :O) Hope it's the best news for both of us...It better have been worth the wait :O)
So I went over my calories by just a tad yesterday :( But I really think it's not a biggy 'cuz I kicked my butt at the gym two days in row... Hope it won't show up tomorrow on my scale.. I cannot wait until May gets here!! I'm sooo bad I know, but I really want a hot fudge sundae, I refuse to give in until my 30 day challenge is done, I just hope I can stick with my healthier habits by myself after May?!?! Tell myself positive thoughts right :O) I can do this/We can do this :O)
Later.. Crystal

rivey 04-13-2006 09:14 PM

Hey everyone just wanted to check in for the night. I did really good today no sweets :) that makes 2 days in a row lol :carrot: lets just see how the weekend goes;)

Good news to post today I got on the scale (yes I know a few days early for me)
I am down 3lbs:carrot: :carrot: :cb:

Sandi I can relate about the earlier post of reward food....as a kid, heck all my life I have used food as a safety net so to speak. If I am bored I eat if I am upset I eat...just a really really bad habit for me BUT thanks to all of you on here I can finally get the support I need to stop all the crazy eating habits I had. There are sooo many things that we can reward ourself with besides food just have to find something we like more than food.

:thanks:

Talk to ya soon

cjlafaye 04-14-2006 01:07 AM

Amanda_mae 04-14-2006 11:03 AM

Hey sistas.

Not a very good day for me :( Weigh in this morning and I'm still at 156. What a bummer. It's really discouraging to wait a whole week to weigh in and see the scale sitting on the same number it was at last week.

I looked over my food journal, and realized I had 4 Lean Cuisine meals this week. That's highly unusual for me... I almost always cook my own food. I've just been working 12 hr days so the past week has been hard to plan food-wise. I'm thinking all the sodium in those meals may have something to do with not having a loss this week. I'm going to cut them out this coming week and see what happens.

Regina: Girl, I totally saw your post about the FLEX points... I just haven't had time to reply yet. But, I WILL! I PROMISE! I'll PM explaining the whole deal as soon as I get back into town from my Easter Getaway :)

Well my sistas...
I hope you all have a great weekend. I'll be back on Monday! Good luck to everyone on keeping on plan over the food-filled weekend!!!!!!!!!!! BE STRONG!!!!!!!!!!!

~Amanda Mae

GoofyGrl 04-14-2006 02:00 PM

I had to throw away my scale this morning I gained a 1/2 of a lb. O.k. I am about to give you all TMI but I think the phrase FULL OF **** IS CORRECT...literally.....LOL!!! I feel comfortable telling my sistas that, so anyway enough said on the subject, but I do have wonderful news to share I hit my monthly goal of 5-6lbs lost....I have lost a total of 7 lbs this month I am so proud. I will post a little later. Much love to you sistas!!!

da fat n da furious 04-14-2006 02:05 PM

Good morning Sistas,

Amanda Mae, how about cooking alot and then having left overs the next day,,,that would help with your time restraints. I do that now. I go all wild in the kitchen every second third day.

Not doing too much today, going to watch Walk the Line, and snuggle on the couch. We are going up north for Easter Dinner, my brother lives in Grand Prairie and will meet us at our parents house in Sylvan.
I ate clean all day, even though work was one of THOSE days,,,OMG some people are so messed up. I swear sometimes I wonder who dresses them in the morning... anyways one of my best friends who works there too, we went to Moxi's and had bellini's. If I gained a pound for that,,,it was well worth it!
Bren when are you due? Congrats!
anywho gonna have another coffee, finish the laundry...and snuggle.

da fat n da furious 04-14-2006 02:06 PM

oh ya Cassy,,,are you guys crazy hockey fans? The Wings are our favorite team,,,and being we are a big time hockey town,,,this makes it hard,,,since this is Flames territory.

Happy Easter My Sistas

Good Morning and Happy Easter:carrot: Hope everyone has had a nice weekend thus far. I am looking forward to today because my husband, my daughter and I are getting to spend some quality time together. Work has kept my husband busy this week. He and I work opposite schedules. Anyway, so I am looking forward to that. I went grocery shopping yesterday and got lots of healthy goodies to make. I haven't been stressing over my 1/2 lb gain as I know it was a complete joke. I had a good breakfast yesterday and McDonald's for dinner. We were on the run and I tell you want it didn't taste good at all and even upset my stomach, probably because I haven't eaten that poison in over a month. I truly won't do that again.:^: Well I hope that Easter Bunny was health conscious today with his goodies and only brought allowable treats like SF chocolates or CARB CHOCOLATES. Who am I kidding :smug: LOL!!! Make healthy choices today, don't let the little demons get to you. LOL!!!

HAPPY EASTER AGAIN MY PEEPS!!!!

TryinAgain5402 04-17-2006 09:25 AM

Easter was tough - way too much food offered, but I didnt do too bad! My hubby is starting to get it about not giving food gifts. We're going with the idea of putting the money in a jar and saving it towards new clothes!
Have a great week everyone!

Sandi D 04-17-2006 10:06 AM

thats a good idea about no food gifts and saving for something.
Have to think of something like that that can be done with my kids and all
thanks

Mini Goals

Well Easter has come and gone...and boy am I glad. I have decided to try another mini goal- I am not going to step on the scale until my weigh in again which is Friday:carrot: I am also going to follow through on my exercise calendar that I made at work today. Basically do my exercise like I am suppose. To stay on track. I made a 2 week meal calendar for family. I am hoping that it will make my life easier. I am trying to become better organized in regards to my home life. There are times that I feel overwhelmed and searching for time, I think with my new little system I can time manage better. Funny I have no problems at work managing my time. Well I am extremely happy that I was able to succeed with my weightloss goal for the month. I lost 7 lbs and I was striving to lose 5-6. I am happy and proud that I have not fallen off the wagon. This time feels real different. Hard to explain in words. I hope everyone is having a great day thus far.

Congrats to Twice Twins on the your weightloss. Super job:)

da fat n da furious 04-18-2006 09:49 AM

Regina, I need to do that too, but Im not even home to cook or BE there for the next few days,,,I belong to a theatre company and we are in the midst of tech week. Then right into shows...my eating suffers bad during this time. That is another reason I am quitting the company and focussing more on me and my family.

GoofyGrl 04-18-2006 11:58 AM

Good Morning Sistas

Well another day is here and its one day closer to the weekend. :carrot: Yeah! So where are all the sistas at? Hope everyone is doing fine on their weightloss endeavor. Yesterday for some reason was a little hard for me. I stayed within my point range but for some reason what I ate for the day kept me hungry. I changed my breakfast yesterday and I think that is what started it all. I had a special K breakfast bar and a cafe latte and the bar did absolutely nothing in regards to preventing me from being hungry. I normally eat a bagel and I am fine until lunch. So why teach this old dog a new trick. I'll stick with what works for me.

Angie you mentioned that work keeps you busy, have you thought about keeping a stash of healthy goodies near by like maybe in your car, purse or desk that way your not having to be without for so long? I have done that here at work, I keep dry cereal, granola bars, mini popcorn bags, prepacked crackers. Just something so I can nibble on until it is time for me to eat. Just an idea.

Well remember I mentioned my mini goals- no weighing myself until Friday and the exercise thing...well the weighing myself thing went out the window, it was like it was calling my name....REGINA COME TO ME...LOL!!!

I told myself I have to follow through. Keep your fingers crossed.

Amanda_mae 04-18-2006 07:12 PM

Hey sistas!

I only have a minute... but I wanted to drop in and say hi! Hope everyone had a great Easter. I sure did! I'm sure my weigh in on Friday will be evidence of that. But, I've been on plan since getting back in town yesterday.

Angie, I took your advice about cooking in large quantities. I spent last night making a big pot of soup and cooking a bunch of chicken breasts. I bought some Ms. Dash seasoning for the chicken since I think sodium is my problem. Lets hope it does the trick. I'm not expecting a loss this week after my Easter splurge, but if I don't show one next week I'm going to be really disappointed!

I hope everyone has a great night!

~Amanda Mae

cjlafaye 04-19-2006 01:26 AM

HEY MY SISTA'S!! BEEN SO LONG SINCE I TALKED TO YA'LL!!!

OK LETS CATCH UP..

REGINA...GIRL, WE HAVE TO CATCH UP!!! I AM GLAD YOUR EASTER WAS GOOD FOR YOU, IT WAS GOOD FOR ME TOO. WENT TO CHURCH AND HAD DIN-DIN WITH THE FAM. ALWAYS GOOD TO DO THAT.:D OH AND ABOUT YOUR TMI, GIRL I UNDERSTAND BUT SINCE THE GI/HIGH FIBER DIET I HAVE NO PROBLEMS!!!;) SSOOOOO PROUD OF YOU FOR LOSING THE LBS
:carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot:
SO GOOD TO HAVE A CALENDER TO FOLLOW. I AM NOT THAT ORGANIZED GIRL! I LOST THE BATTLE AGAINST THE SCALE TOO!!1 I GOT ON IT AND GOT PISSED RIGHT OFF.. ANOTHER LB ON!!!I KNOW THAT IT IS BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN HITTING THE WEIGHTS SO HEAVY LATELY BUT I DONT NEED TO SEE THAT YOU KNOW???

FURIOUS.... HEY GIRL!! WELL YOU CANT HELP BUT NOT BE CAUGHT UP IN THE RED WING HOOPLA! I LIVE SO CLOSE TO DOWNTOWN AND THEY HAVE TRANSFORMED SOME PARTS OF IT INTO "HOCKEYTOWN"! I LOVE ALL THE EXCITEMENT AROUND ALL THE SPORTS, NOW THAT FORD FIELD IS DOWN HERE I AM IN HEAVEN. I LOVE THE TESTOSTERONE THAT IS IN THE AIR!!!!( I KNOW I AM SICK).

AMANDA MAE.. HEY GIRL! SLOW COOKED MEALS WOULD BE IDEAL FOR YOU TOO! YOU CAN PUT THE FROZEN CHICKEN, VEGGIES, ETC IN THERE AND BY THE TIME YOU GET HOME FROM WORK IT IS HOT AND WAITING FOR YOU!! YOU ALSO COOK IN LARGE QUANTITIES SO YOU WILL HAVE FOOD FOR AT LEAST A WEEK!!!!

OK GIRLS I HAVE A NEW GOAL! I JUST LEARNED ABOUT WHERE YOU CAN LEARN TO STRIP/POLE DANCE LOCALLY!!! YOU HAVE TO WEAR SHORT, SHORTS TO THE CLASS.. SO ME AND MY BEST FREIND(WHO IS A LITTLE THING) ARE ENROLLING IN JAN. SO I HAVE TO GET MY SELF TIGHT TO BE IN THOSE SHORTS IN FRONT OF ALL THOSE PEOPLE!!! I CANT WAIT!!! I AM SO DETERMINED TO DO THIS!!! IT WOULD BE SO MUCH FUN!!!!

OK, LATER FOR NOW!!! SMOOCHES!

da fat n da furious 04-19-2006 03:11 AM

Amanda Mae, I love cooking in large quantities,,,all my meats,,,and Ms Dash is my favorite seasoning,,,you can buy I think Ive seen 3 types of flavours. I then usually just wash and chop tons of veggies and eat that with whateve each night. All the munching and crunching makes me feel like Im eating alot.
I make chili,,and freeze them in lil containers...Im on the go alot as my whole family is...they pull it out and nuke it. Or i take to work. Or better yet make free soup...the WW ladies tell me to buy a big can of tomato juice...use that and add any veggies you have simmer on the stove. And that is what free soup is.

Cassy,,,Stevey Y is our boy in our house. Its gotten kinda nasty at work over me cheering for the Wings. Like i care,,,Im a big girl I can take it...lol

So tonight ran into a theatre friend, she had lost 40 lbs and looks so awesome...told me she went to her Dr. who sent her to this place,,,for blood work and such. Checked to see if she was missing anything and then went on a diet. To me it sounded alot like Sureslim but without the bill. Got the name of the Dr. gonna make an appointment to see my GP.
Im so cranky with allergies right now,,,serious bull dog look going on right now. And a attitude to match...grrrr
anywho,,,gotta get to bed...need to sleep off this mood...lol

cjlafaye 04-19-2006 09:06 AM

ANGIE..TRY NOT TO GET BEAT DOWN OVER THERE;) TELL THEM YOU HAVE A SISTA IN THE D THAT WILL COME OVER FOR BACK UP!!! TELL US WHAT THE DR SAID SO I CAN GET IT TOO!!! IT IS OK TO HAVE AN ATTITUDE,DIVAS ALWAYS HAVE ATTITUDE!!! BUT I HOPE THAT THE NEW DAY IS BETTER FOR YOU.. HOW FAR ARE YOU FROM DETROIT ANYWAY?

SO SINCE I HAVE A NEW STRIPPER GOAL. I HAVE TO INCOOPERATE A LOT OF RESISTANCE TRAINING IN MY WORKOUTS, LIKE EVERY DAY AND A LOT MORE CRUNCHES. I READ AN ARTICULE ABOUT REMOVING CELLULITE AND IT SAID THAT IS IS PROVEN THAT 20 MIN OF CARDIO COMBINED WITH RESISTANCE TRAINING 3X A WEEK DECREASES THE APPEARANCE OF IT SIGNIFICANTLY! SINCE THE FAT IS SO CLOSE TO THE SURFACE YOU CAN ACTUALLY MASSAGE THE AREAS DAILY TO LESSON THE APPEARANCE. IT WONT GO AWAY BUT IT DOES WORK!I JUST GOT THE LOWER BODY JAM WITH RESISTANCE BANDS SO THAT SHOULD HELP WITH THE NOOKS AND CRANNIES THAT HAVE TAKEN OVER MY LEGS AND BUTT!!!. I AM ALSO GOING TO THE GYM 3 TIMES A WEEK AND DOING HEAVY LIFTING ALL THE WHILE DOING MY BELOVED TURBO JAM!!

NOW SISTA'S I AM NOT GOING TO ACUTALLY DANCE IN FRONT OF PAYING CUSTOMERS(ALTHOUGH THE HUBBY BETTER KICK OUT SOME SINGLES!) BUT IT IS JUST FOR FUN..

OK LADIES, I AM OFF TO WORKOUT.. IT IS OFFICIALLY A HABIT!!! YEAH!! I HOPE EVERYONES DAY WILL START OFF GOOD TOO!
LOVE YALL!!!

da fat n da furious 04-19-2006 10:00 AM

Cassy, you crack me up,,,hubby better kick out some singles...lol love it!
I have seen the pole arobics. Im thinking I want to do latin dancing again,,,hubby and I did that alot of years ago,,,I just loved it, but I want to do it again and his schedule and mine don't allow for evening classes or any classes.
Im far from D. Im out west, just above Montana. 2 hours away infact. We go down to Great Falls to shop at Target when the urges come...lol One day we will go to D.
I am excited about seeing this Dr. I have to get a referral from my GP. I know they do blood work and determine what is lacking in my system and anything else that can be holding my weightloss back other then my intimate relationship with cinnamon buns and choc.
I have today off and its packed,,,tanning at 8:30, oil change at 10:30, then gotta go buy more shoes for school play Aladdin. I have a friend who is a manager at Ardene's which means employee discount YAY! Then to the school, and doing costumes for the 42 kids,,,more then half have 2 costume changes,,,*shudder
then I have my cabaret show tonight,,,Im stage managing, but I do hair and makeup for those who need help.
Its going to be a long day,,,and considering I didn't get to bed till 1, and up at 7,,,yay, could be another bull dog day...lol

GoofyGrl 04-19-2006 01:22 PM

Exercise what's that??????????

O.K Ladies why am I so tired? My motivation is for the birds right now, all I want to do is get some sleep. As far as exercise, what's that. I haven't been able to pull myself up for a few days. I feel so worn down. I use to get up around 5:30-5:45 in the morning, now my happy butt is getting up at 6:20-6:30. You would think that after sleeping I would be energized, all I want to do is sleep some more. Then when I get off from work, I am so tired that I don't even think twice about getting my exercise groove on. Any suggestions out there, I think I need to start taking some vitamins. Then I feel bad because I am not exercising; like the exercise gods above are judging me for not moving my fat ***. I am in a slump right now where it comes to that. My mother in law has a gazelle type machine that she has offered to give to me since she isn't using it. I really need to get my butt moving because I am not being a good role model for my daughter. Here I am telling her she needs to be playing outside and getting some fresh air and I don't even do that. Let me just say that even though I may not be exercising I am also not just sitting on my butt at home either. I get home around 4:45-5:30 depending on the day then I do my motherly chores around the house and don't sit down until about 7:00.....ENOUGH WITH THE EXCUSES!!!!! I gotta find my niche with this thing. Hope I am not frowned upon for this. :nono: Keep me in your thoughts ladies.

Sandi D 04-19-2006 01:28 PM

Hey Sandi D
In regards to Pole Dancing, that was Ms. Diva herself Cassy (CJLAFAYE) who has expressed interest in that. Pole Dancing sounds like fun but not my cup of tea just yet.:o
