Oops Jane!:o Didn't realize when I posted it put it at 50, other wise I would have started a new thread. I try not to post at the end of an old thread. Anyway...if you would like to you can delete my post over there and I will just cut and paste it here.

Howdy Ladies!

Well, didn't think I would be on the computer today but woke early and did what I needed to do and now I am bored out of my mind. V had to work so won't be home until almost two. Went and got my vehicle washed early not knowing if the car wash would actually work with it being so cold this morning-they tend to freeze up when it gets that cold. But others had already been washing all the gunk off their cars-muddy mess. I didn't realize how bad mine was until I looked at the back!

JANE...funny...my sisters are both grandma's and both were before the age of 40! Their oldest sons are the same age and they had them at a young age. I'm thinking the guy was messing with Josh when he said that, or at least I am hoping. And of course he didn't call me yesterday, the turd! He can call when he wants, just sometimes they are busy and he doesn't. Or he's busy with the guys. How fun to have Mackenzie for a few days, and to decorate for Easter. I so miss that. I did put out a Happy Easter flag and will put out my spring wreath today but that's as far as Easter decorating goes. Not a holiday we celebrate since we have no little ones. V has sleep apnea. I can't remember when he went to the sleep center how many times a night they said he stopped breathing but it was a LOT! A lot of strain on a persons heart to say the least. So good thing that Neal is going to have it checked. V has to sleep with a breathing machine other wise I would be hitting him in the back several times a night like before. It is scary to hear him stop breathing for that length of time.

GINNY...I can only hope that they won't send him to Iraq because of his knee. He started having problems with it in basic. He had hurt it then but never went to the doc for it. Just fell on some rocks while in Hawaii and apparently the rock in his knee caused the infection, I'm assuming anyway. Just driving me crazy no being close enough to be able to get to him if needed. Have a nice visit with your MIL.

ANGIE...I wondered about the commercial when you mentioned the girl with the bottle! Didn't know if she was someone off to the side going crazy with it or if she was part of the commercial! I too hope we get the house...that is another thing driving me crazy. I swear last night I thought I was having a nervous breakdown! Too much going on at one time.

ELLEN...we won't close on the new house until our house is sold. We have a contract, sort of...it's on the contingency of us selling this house. And if someone comes in and they get a better offer it's gone! That was why I was trying not to get excited about it but it's hard. So both houses will possibly close the same time. Unless we can get a fast one and get in the new house sooner. Not sure if that can happen though. Just depends on who buys this house and how they want to proceed. Just a waiting game. And we haven't had any calls this week for viewings. I'm thinking because of the weather and it being spring break. Thought we would have an open house but nope! So hoping next week to get some calls and have an Open House for sure. Another thing that is bad is all the new houses going up. Even though people would have to pay more, and spend money on a lawn, trees, a fence etc. a lot of people would rather go that route. But a lot of people are wanting in this school district so...Anyway, hope you are feeling better today! Oh, I too believe in Angels! I have a couple of things that happened but have only shared it with a few. Some look at me like I am crazy and others share stories they have heard from others that are similar. So I tend not to share. But it happened so...they are all around us believe me! I love the pink BD post to Susan, so pretty! And yes, I too love all your colorful posts!

SUSAN...again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope you have a fun day! So where is Doug moving that you have to take Rebecca? I meant to ask if you were still going to see Rocky in April, just kept forgetting. Well, hopefully he comes to see you this summer. He is such a sweetie and you are lucky to have him in your life.

MARTI...enjoy your weekend with Jhanai! And glad that you and James had time together.

HIYA JULES...hope you are having a wonderful day and weekend.

Well, that's about all I have for now ladies. Gonna go and vacuum out my car and clean the windows, maybe wipe things down inside. I've got a blanket over my back seat for Ernie since we have to take him and leave when there is a showing. His hair gets everywhere..but then that was before I gave him a haircut. It's so funny because when his hair grows out he is mostly black, with some brown and tan. But when I shave him...he is all tan except for the white under his neck (which is always really white-so pretty) and the black stripe down his back...looks kind of odd. Anyway, he's a cutie, mean, but cute.

Take care ladies and have a great day!

Marti 03-25-2006 05:41 PM

Been browsing around here and there and now Jhanai is asking for my attention!! Little booger!:D

Having a great time with Jhanai. She's growing so fast. She's only 2 inches shorter than me!! And she's only 11. Sheesh!!

Ok......I better skidaddle.

I'll post individuals later on after the weekend.

Hugs

Hi Cristina!!

My son's friend Jason was just home on a two week leave from Iraq. He called and talked to me but I didn't get to actually see him. He went skiing--he said that it was never was so nice to see snow and feel cold. He gets back for good in August and then DS's other friend Tony goes & his other friends-two brothers have gotten back--one got out and one reenlisted--they set their divorced mom up with their sargeant and now he's their new stepdad. DS did say that Jason is skinny so we have already got one care package together since he said that the food is terrible!!
Picked up some purple columbine plants, ivy in a hanging baskets for the porch, another purple (can you tell I like purple?) plant called brodiaea and a pink rhododendron. We actually have some "wild" rhododendron plants and wild azaleas growing all around us in the woods. I also want to plant a small butterfly garden around a new bird bath. Each week I have $20 set aside in the budget for plants.
As soon as the weather warms up I will work on adding another coat of weather proofing to the decks and paint the trim and shutters to match the new hunter green tin roof we put on just in time for the rain & cold to come. Also bought two adirondack chairs cheap from a coworker--I want to put some weather proofing on them too.
Brought a couple of my overgrown violets home from work to repot. I have the perfect window for them by my desk at work.
Well..gotta go everyone have a good evening!!

jules1216 03-25-2006 05:45 PM

I just missed you Marti--I am just under 5'6' and my DD was always shorter unless she was wearing heels. My DS pointed out that at 18 & 1/2, she is now taller than me so we measured and sure enough she is now just over 5'6'. She was 5'5' from the age of 12. Go figure!!

How is everyone today. I'm sorry this will be a short post, I had a very busy day, I didn't fall asleep untill 5:am and my darling daughter showed up at eight am with breakfast, and ready to help me clean the gardens and yard. We ate and were out the door by 9 and cleaned raked and bagged leaves till 6pm needless to say I am exhausted. Honestly I didn't feel at all like doing it today , but I wasn't going to turn away this much needed help I was being offered. It wasn't to bad out , the sun was up for a while which was nice but by mid afternoon it turned very cold. So now I am pooped ,actually to pooped to post :lol:I am heading for the bath, and climbing into bed .I hope you girls all had a wonderful day.

tommysgirl18 03-25-2006 11:09 PM

hello ladies!!

just a quick note to let you all know that I am back home. we had a lot of fun checking out apartments. we will be doing it again one day this coming week as well. we have some definite contenders, but it all comes down to price and square footage.

I will come back and do personals tomorrow, right now I am checking my email and then heading to bed.

Dahlia 03-26-2006 07:28 AM

Good morning ladies,
Looks like everyone had a busy day yesterday.

Ellen, your posts are always so pretty and colorful. And wow you did a lot on little sleep.

Nothing to post here either. Could have slept in today, but my body clock says it's time to get up. So here I am. Will get some paper work done before we head out to see MIL. BIL and wife will be there too, he is a pompous you know what.. shows up once every couple months to see his mommy and thinks that is doing his share in her care. His life is to busy to be bothered. He is retired but goes into work anyway (he owns business). Well we own ours too and we are super busy too, but somethings just need to be made time for... anyway.. today should be interesting.

Hope you all have a super day.

Ginny:carrot:

jules1216 03-26-2006 09:39 AM

Ellen--I raked up the millions of acorns that have dropped all over the yard--my arms are so sore!! We have 32 acres of woods and only cleared a very minimum. It is endless hours of raking leaves too but the fence does provide somewhat of a "leaf" break in the front-the back is not fenced and since the outlet for the dryer blows out that way--raking and keeping the leaves away is always a priority. Hope you're not too sore!! I too believe in angels and could tell you some stories along with many answered prayer stories.

Mindee--my son was just told that the owner of the apartment is selling and the property manager is not sure what will happen. His lease is up in August and he and his girlfriend are thinking of getting a place together (her lease ends in August too)--There is a piece of our property that will be his but he's not ready for that yet. He likes living in town in walking distance of the mall, his friends, several restaurants and his apartment is on the commuter van route where he works which makes life alot easier for him. I hope you find the perfect apartment for you and your family.

With all the influx of phone calls, I am having a hard time keeping up with my other work so I am going in today. Since they changed me to salary I will not get OT but I can't stand so many things needing to be finished and I have to do a month end billing on Thursday and want to be as caught up as possible. Hopefully this week will be easier with less screaming, unreasonable callers.
Hi to Cristi-Cristina, Jane, Marti, Sue, Susan, Angie, Eloise and all else!!

It looks like such a pretty day out, I was so exhausted by the time I got to bed, I really enjoyed the working outside, but it was the little sleep I got the night before that wore me out. I only have about a 1/4 acre to look after but the yard is lined at the back and side with very large and beautiful old trees. When they built these houses 6 years ago the whole parcel of land was treed, but they cleared so many away, much to my dismay. I would like to start planting in the back again , with some magestic evergreens. I love it here , watching the squirrels and birds , the sounds are so beautiful.
MORNING JULES...I can only imagine having 34 acres to care for, how much to generally clear each season. There is a lot of work , when there is a lot of trees:lol: I am getting somewhat excited now to get into the garden , I am really looking forward to it. I have painting to do outside this year to . I am going to stain the fence and arbours at the front of my house white, and I have a wrap around porch that starts from the side door and wraps all the way across the back of the house , I will be staining to. I have to paint my doors and railings as well. :chin: oh my that sounds like I will be busy. I wonder if I will have any time to sit and read in my garden this year  I don't know whats on todays agenda but I am sure there is something I could or should be doing but I must say I'm a little slow to day :lol:I hope you are having a great day

HI GINNY...Thankyou , I enjoy putting up the pictures and searching for new ones. I could have stayed in bed all day to, but I thought I had better get moving since I had things to get done today. I hope you have a nice visit, and a wonderful day.
HI MINDEE...So glad you had a good time apartment hunting, hopefully you will find the perfect place for your family. I hope you and the boys are doing well

HELLO TO EVERYONE ELSE , I HOPE YOUR HAVING A WONDERFUL SUNDAY

tommysgirl18 03-26-2006 01:13 PM

thanks ladies for the nice words. we are doing much better. Logan still has an occassional cough, but other then that he is doing much better. he still gets breathing treatments, and his ear is still getting crusty. (I am going to call the pediatrician about his ear tomorrow)

cjdodson 03-26-2006 04:41 PM

Hi Ladies!

Sorry it's been awhile. Lots of things going on here. Most of them "not good". Lots more health problems for DH and myself. I won't bore you with the details. I've been working a lot of overtime also. They wouldn't let us have it for about the last 5 mo. & now there is a push on to get all the dictation caught up for an audit.

DS and his girlfriend got engaged on St. Pat's Day! She is such a sweetie. No date set, maybe next year.

DD is in the process of buying her first house. Went to see it when the building inspector was there. It's an older home and in good shape. Still needs some work done. The first house she looked at was a lot newer & I like it better - but I'm not the one living in it (or paying for it) so I try to keep my mouth shut.

Time to finish laundry & maybe a nap. (HA)

Hello all,
Thank goodness this weekend is OVER! Sounds like everyone else has been just as busy,,,
Ellen, that is so sweet of DD to come and help you out,,,and I take it she is an early riser...lol
Jules,So did you read that book yet?

Ginny, how did things go with the pompous butt? aka BIL.

Hey Connie, sorry to hear about the health problems...

This past weekend Monte and I primed and painted the whole basement,,,and teh stairs leading up/down. And then painted. We decided to go with the color Cocoa, nice milk choc color....lol My forearms ache....

Also found the sage color I wanted,,,its called relaxation, thought that was a prefect name/color.
Saw a mitre saw at Rona, hinted that mothers day isn't all that far off...lol But also saw a nailer with generator. Will see what I get..cause what ever I don't get Monte gets for father's day...lol
We did up our taxes,,,thank goodness thats over! AND inbetween all that I sewed up 2 turbins and a belt.
well I need to get to bed...night all

Dahlia 03-27-2006 07:45 AM

Good morning ladies,

Angie, you are funny. You sound like quite the handyman or woman to have around. I've asked for a tool a few times to use in my crafts but they all thought I was joking. I hope you get them. I usually buy what I need or want for my dh for father's day then I borrow it.. we have to do what we have to do. Relaxation, good name for the sage green. I am thinking about painting my tv room that color. It would go with the county cork I have in the other rooms, don't you think.

Connie, sorry to hear about your health problems..one day at a time. We are with you in spirit.

Angie, oh yes, the pompous butt.. well he lived up to his name. He and his wife are rather funny. On one hand she is telling us how poor they are, *they own 8 John Deere dealerships* among a few other pokers in the fire, and on the other he is bragging how they have been to France, the Swiss alps etc. It's almost like a comedy act. Yet they visit mom every 3-4 months and they are doing their share. They don't believe how much she is slipping mentally, they see what they want to I guess. They are in denial.

Well, I am off to work. The sun is shining so it will be warm/hot at work. It is suppose to be 52 today. That is outside. With the sun inside it will be in the 80's. It is almost April. About 4 more weeks of planting then I'll be opening up the garden center. That is the part I really enjoy.

I rode 7 miles again last night. Even though the scale isn't moving right now, I feel like my legs are getting stronger and tightening up. So it has to be helping. Marti how is the walking coming?

Have a good one everybody. Catch you tonight.

Ginny

Jane 03-27-2006 08:29 AM

Good morning, ladies,

Cristi - Neal is resisting going to see about his apnea. I've even told him what you said about it hurting his heart. I think he'll go eventually, but I guess I can't drag him by the ear. I DID get him to go for a hearing test again. He wears hearing aids, but needs new ones.

Hello to Marti, Jules, Ellen, Connie and Angie, and anyone else reading this.

I have to hurry. Mackenzie and I have things to do today, lol.

Have a good one!

Mom2Gaby 03-27-2006 12:41 PM

Good Morning -

I would love to live on 32 acres Jules!! Must be so peaceful, acorns and all. I grew up on 5 acres with woods and a filberts orchard. It was nice.

Happy Belated Anniversary Marti & James!

I am going to go now - lol . Just need to do laundry and dishes. Gaby is sick with a cold/cough. I am sick too. Rach has some flu thing going on - throwing up all night.

Her father and I met with her Kaiser counselor Saturday. Trying to get her into this other treatment place but he is dragging his feet. What a butt. He did finally agree to go see it yesterday. blah - blah.

Anyway- Cristi. He is moving to a senior place on the 9th. Thank the lord!! lol

ugh,,,,,,,making size 12 pants my home these days. Marilyn Monroe was a size 12 too. Gads.

Chat after I get some work done! tata

da fat n da furious 03-27-2006 02:55 PM

I ache...lol My arms feel like someone ripped them off and beat me with them.

Susan, what is with Doug? Does he not see that Rach is in need of help? Tanner has a cold too, Brandon still has a sore throat, but he went camping...we had words about that. Im over reacting is what he said. Ya right.

Ginny, I have a friend like that,,,whimpering about no money and yet going on about what they have bought recently..big ticket items too. Do they live really far away?

Jane, why do men fight about going for medical help? Monte needs to do a physical, and seriously don't know when I can get him there.

well off to do some cleaning,,,watched Tyra Banks today,,,ever heard of Its a Wrap? you can buy clothes worn by actors/resses for good deals....

FrouFrou 03-27-2006 03:11 PM

Good afternoon ladies...

JANE...maybe you should print out some stuff for Neal to read about it. I never dreamed V had it so bad until the doctor suggested the sleep center. He HATES that breathing machine he has to sleep with but without it...he would never have a restful sleep. His was so bad that he was falling alseep behind the wheel! :yikes: Not good at all. Hope Katie is feeling better.

MARTI...glad you are enjoying your time with Jhanai. They do grow up fast! Too fast if you ask me.

SUSAN...I see about Doug. That could be a good thing for him. Bet he will miss the girls being with him though.

JULES...our dream is to have 20-30 acres when V retires. We love living in the country and did when we first married. We were about 1 1/2 hours from where we are now. And the small town had no jobs so...it's hard. But there's other areas closer that we are learning to love so one day. But I bet it is BEAUTIFUL in WV! My son went to Clinch Valley College in Wise (Which is now The University of VA at Wise-changed the name when he left), VA a few years ago and we were up there for a visit and man is it BEAUTIFUL! I love the mountains. We also took a side trip to NC...DB & SIL were living there at the time. So I can only imagine your place! You sound like me with the planting. I am dying to plant something and DH said "Why?" A butterfly garden sounds so nice. I had to go get a butterfly bush last year and you would not believe the butterflies it attracted! So I am looking forward to that again.

ELLEN...forgot to answer you question about the french doors...they are doors and not sliders. I just really like the look better. Sounds like you had a very busy weekend! Glad you had DD to help! V and I did a little bit of yard work. Not much to do right now. We had to mow which is really early. But we winterized and with the little bit of rain we got and snow, plus about three weeks ago I decided I better water it some. Well, it is so green and needed mowing. Don't usually mow until late April I thought.

ANGIE...for some reason I thought you guys already painted the basement. The colors sound very nice though.

CONNIE...(((((HUGS))))) to you.  Don't feel like you would bore us with details. We are here for you whenever you want to talk. And sometimes it's good to get it out.

GINNY...seems like there is always someone in the family like your BIL. I know when my grandpa's health was failing my mom and an Aunt took care of him. Then finally had to put him in a nursing home. It was a hard decision but the best place for him. But, the other two Aunts and an Uncle wanted nothing of it. I always thought it should be a family thing and everyone should. Anyway...WTG with your biking! :bravo:

MINDEE...good luck with the apartment hunting. V and I are going to go to some Open Houses this weekend and see what our competition is. And get some ideas for the new house if and when we ever get it.

Had a busy morning and I am pooped. Trying to get my laundry done while I am on the puter. Also, had to make reservations for Josh to come home in May. For some reason they need his itinerary before the next pay day which is Friday. They just want/need to know where he is going and where he will be also. So did that. Also, ordered some WEdding Day scent candles online. V asked me what I was going to do when they are gone and I said cry. They have retired the scent but you can still get them online. I'm thinking they will just have them until they sell their supply. :dunno: I love the scent though and they are special because I bought those for our Wedding Day. Anyway...I am pooped and need to go post on the other thread before going to fold some laundry. When V gets home we are headed for an early dinner at Olive Garden. Then to Lowes to get some pansies for my pot on the porch, if you want to call it a porch. And he wants to get a haircut. We havent had a date night in ages so we are overdo. Oh, went and rented some DVD's Saturday and watched Capote, In Cold Blood and Derailed so far. Haven't rented any in ages so ended up getting six movies, lol! Have three more to watch and there were so many more I wanted to rent. Okay, signing off for now.

Take care ladies and have a GREAT day!

GOOD AFTERNOON LADIESWow another beautiful day, a little chilly but none the less ,it feels very spring like today. I just finished having lunch with my daughter and she's off to work again.I have some cleaning to do ,so I thought I would pop on and say hi.
HI ANGIE  Yes my daughter is an early riser, she is a little energizer bunny  She is a lot of help ,we are a great team when it comes to getting things done, there is no dillydallying when we get to business. we are still both amazed how much we accomplished in 8 hours  MMM chocolate that sounds yummy, oh but you won't be licking the walls will you  I think that is going to look so nice. I was browsing and I saw a beautiful floral lavender and sage area rug and I thought of all you girls painting with those colours, very pretty, I can hardly wait for pictures .Tools for Mothers Day  you sound like me I was so excited to get a new lawnmower for one Mothers Day, I love cutting the grass  I do honest. I hope your arms feel better, no wonder you are glad the weekend is over. Hope you are having a relaxing day.

HI GINNY  CONGRATULATIONS :dust: just for a little help if you need it sometime  don't worry about what the scale says if you are feeling stronger thats the important part and the scale will catch up with sooner or later. Maybe you are just to darn speedy :lol:I hope you are enjoying your day , even if your working.:D

HI MRS CRISTINA:wave:I can't believe you are buying flowers already I am so jealous.:lol:I think I will be planting a butterfly bush to this year, I love butterflies. I am like you I find a fragrance that I love ,mine would be pot pourri, but then they go and discontinue it and I am heartbroken. Don't they realize how important these decisions they make are, and how they affect peoples lives :lol:what the world coming to. I hope you can still find your candles on line for a long time, some things are just special to us aren't they. I like the french doors to, someday I might have some , thats the plan anyways, time will tell if it actually happens, or finances  Any word on the house, any offers on yours yet, we need to get this house sold so you can move , Christmas is coming you know:present: Ahh your going to the Olive Garden, I want to come , can I please. I am not getting anything done , so I better get going and get to it. Have a great day.

Hi TO EVERYONE ELSE... MARTI JANE MINDEE JULES SUE KATY AND CONNIE WHOM I HAVEN'T OFFICIALLY MET YET. I HOPE EVERYONE IS HAVING A WONDERFUL DAY, I MIGHT BE BACK TONIGHT TO CATCH UP WITH THE REST ,BUT FOR NOW I MUST SCOOT BECAUSE NOTHING IS GETTING DONE AND I HAVE BEEN HERE TOOOOOOOOOOOO LONG BYE GIRLS:wave:

Mom2Gaby 03-27-2006 04:58 PM

Pooh on Doug. I am sure he will miss the girls and the control he has/ had on their life.
He really just needs to step aside and let me mother them. He has done a lousy job but he thinks he is Mr Cleaver *snicker*
I swear if he makes me wait til next Monday when Rach decides not to go back to school..... to realize we are in deep feces, I am going to go ballistic!!! I can't afford any more disruptions at work. I did get Rachel's dr to sign a medical form so I can shorten my work hours to 6. - blah-blah-blah-blah
ugh- ok, there are good things about him but he can be a royal jerk too.
He was abandoned as a child (in a Catholic home for boys after his mother died when he was 5 years old. He thinks putting Rach in treatment will scar her for life, so he he is waiting to see if she will straighten up all on her own).

Ang is always painting a basement Cristi - hehe, jk. She was down in the basement years ago working, I don't think she ever came up. lol I am joking, we all love Angie and her can do attitude.

Ellen - it is beautiful here too!! I did 2 loads of laundry and 1 came out soaking wet with suds still, threw them in the dryer anyway. I feel better now, and Gaby seems to be perking up. Ready for a nap though

Good Morning

Good morn from a stranger. Kind of feel like I'm butting in.Wasn't sure where to post this early am....but here I am. Did post in the bio section....then had hard time getting back. For some reason, my puter doesn't want to shake hands with 3FC site.I am on AOL....but log in under Yahoo mail.....but still won;t work & have to get a new password every time I log in.....& most likely, that doesn't work either. Doesn't look like I'll get to spend much time with you nice ladies.
Yesterday was a looooong day.My Mother is in a home & I had to get her moved to another room....due to probs with her room mate.Mom was upset....so was I & spent most of the day there....& went back in the eve for a final check. One thing for sure....I've seen too much/learned a lot with her situation & have told my 2 DDs....if I keel over tomorrow, sing no sad songs for me.
Too early in the morn for depressing subjects.Yesterday was my usual WI day & didn't get done.....so will do that later & see what the scale says. Thanks for letting me join & I'll be back if & when the puter allows:)

Dahlia 03-28-2006 07:32 AM

Good morning ladies,

Welcome Patce. Sounds like you found the right group. Hope your computer allows you to come in. What I do is put this page in my favorites then everytime I want to come in all I have to do is bring up my favorites list and here I am. No logging in or out, no hassles. Don't know if that will help you or not, but it's my 2 cents worth.

Christina, thanks to your dryer story, my clothes are now drying faster and dryer. I checked into my lint trap on Saturday and was very surprised. It didnt' look dirty but I washed it anyway. Now viola my clothes dry faster. They were coming out still damp.

I rode my bike again last night, went about 7 miles. It shows how many calories you burn and for all the pedaling, the calories don't add up very fast. How come when you don't want them, like when you are eating, they add up quickly, but try to get rid of them suckers and it's almost impossible for them to add up. It's just not fair.

It is suppose to be in the 50's today. But it is very cloudy out. Looks like we'll skip spring this year and go right into summer. With our luck, that should last a couple weeks anyway... this gray sky has me depressed. Our climate is changing. It just isn't the way it used to be.

Susan, hope you and the kids are feeling better. I have been following along with your problems with Rachael, but what is exactly wrong with her? I take it you are divorced and your ex is giving you problems with her care, is he the father to all 3 girls?

Angie, the pompous butt lives 3 hours away. But he has a camper which he leaves parked at a nearby campgrounds, and a large boat which he parks behind our greenhouses. He comes up every weekend to fish in the summer. So coming up here is no problem to them, when they want to. Even when they come up to fish, they don't go see mil, they still only do that once a month or so. He said if he had to take her, she'd be in a home. That is her biggest fear, she told us that for years. She didn't want to go into one. So we are keeping her out as long as we can. Funny thing too, is that the pompous butt is her favorite child and she lets everyone know this. Sad really.

Oh, well the morning I have time to post I have nothing to say.
Hello to Jane, Ellen, Jules, Connie and everybody else. I really have to take notes so I can remember what I want to reply to.. Still no new baby.

Ok, guess I'll get moving. You all have a super day.

Ginny

FrouFrou 03-28-2006 12:10 PM

Good morning ladies

Just a kind of quickie for me...a busy day ahead and it started at 6:30 this morning. I am NOT a morning person at all! Had four calls yesterday for showings today and the first one was at 9:30-10:30 this morning. Didn't want to do an early appointment but we are trying to sell the house so went with it. Someone wanted to see it last night at 5:30-6:30 and called at 3:45. Ummm, don't think so. I definitely wasn't ready and we were going out, Jason wasn't home but Carrie and the dog were so...our realtor is going to call that realtor and see if they want to reschedule, if not oh well. Anyway, have an appointment for 1:00-2:00 and then another at 1:30-2:30. They schedule for an hour but usually are in and out in 30 mns. or so. They didn't seem to think that would be a problem and it's fine by me because I only have to leave once. Needless to say...I will be gone most of the day but wanted to check in and say HI!

PATCE...a BIG WELCOME to you! :welcome: Glad to have you aboard and look forward to getting to know you. I have had the same problem with 3fc since they changed servers and I too have AOL. So I go through IE and no problem at all. Haven't even tried to come to 3FC through AOL since. Again, welcome!

GINNY...we are having some weird weather also. Never really had much of a winter. HAd summer like weather and then last week apparently mother nature thought we needed some snow. Well, it's in the 60's now so I guess she decided we will have spring after all. Good deal about the lint tray.

ELLEN...there are just a few flowers that they have out now, and LOTS and LOTS of pansies are on eof them! But i like them, they ar pretty...love the purple and yellow together!

SUSAN...sorry Doug didn't do so well with raising the girls. And just because he had a terrible experience at a Catholic home doesn't mean Rachel will. I think it would be for her own good. At least try it and see before passing judgment. I would think it would help her.

Anyway, ladies gotta go. Want to read a couple of things and need to get out of the house in a little over an hour.

Have a wonderful day ladies!

da fat n da furious 03-28-2006 12:18 PM

Susan, your right about me being in the basement all the time...lol And I painted that basement a lighter shade then what Im painting this basement.
About Doug, that is sad for him that he was placed in an (orphanaged) but Rach isn't going into one, shes going for her to be helped.

Christina, I didn't even know there was a butterfly bush..is that what its called? Wonder if they have them here. Also I gave one of my Wedding Day *cakes/cookies* to my mom, she loved them so much she went to the store I always buy from and had them order her a case. They charged us, $1.35 each. I have paid $1.99 at linen n things. My other favorite too is Sage and Citrus. So Josh's ticket,,,does the cost come out of his pocket?

Ellen, I have only moved the lawn twice ever. I don't think I know how to...lol
But I sure do love tools, we are doing to need a mitre saw, the last time we did renovations we rented but I would like to have my own. Was thinking of doing some crown molding in my office and any other part of the house...lol (could be a dangerous thing...lol) Does your DD have alot of yard work ahead of her too?

Hello and Welcome Patce, as Ginny has said if you can save us to favorites you will be able to easily join us.

Ginny, your BIL sounds alot like my BIL. My husband is the youngest of three boys, all they grandparents have passed on, and so has both their mom and dad. So its just the three of them, the two older ones have been fighting for over 18 years...we are stuck in the middle. The oldest brother is the one I refuse to spend any of our time with. I can't even try to be nice to him. He has done one too many down right bad (evil) things.

Brandon is camping, I didn't want him camping cause this area is bad for freak snow storms, but off he went. I called him last night to check up on him,,,hes with about 15 other people...(am I being too over protective?) Anyways we had a hilarous talk,,,he was telling me about all the people in the group, most of them he didn't know.
Anyways need to go see the eye Dr. (I know there is an offical name,,,can't spell it) I was working with this one fabric that is synthetic, and one of the particles got in my eye, its itchy and swollen, thinking its got to be blocking my tear duct. But I now have 3 turbins done, a belt and the parrots feet. The rest I will have to use the machine...

da fat n da furious 03-28-2006 12:20 PM

Christina, just missed you,,,fingers crossed one of those viewings will be the one.

FrouFrou 03-28-2006 12:40 PM

Hiya ANGIE...love the butterfly bushes! And they grow sooooo fast! They are not a really attractive shrub but the purple flowers on the them are very pretty and the butterflies they attract-wow! And yes they are called butterfly bush. About Josh...they will fly them from Hawaii to LAX and then the cost from there is totally his, to and fro. He has to fly back to LAX and get a ticket that the Armay pays for to Hawaii. But, he will be in CA for training from April 19-May 19 and I am assuming the Army will get him to LAX from the desert. Not sure about that. When he flew from GA to L.A. they paid his way from there to HAwaii and on top of it paid him travel pay from GA to L.A. even though they paid his ticket from GA to L.A. I like the citrus and sage also! I have the potpourri in a bowl on my coffee table and then freshen it up with the oil, smells sooooo good! Anyway, I gotta get going or I won't be outta here on time. Seems no matter how early I start with things I end up rushing out the door at the last minute. Have a great day girly!

Jane 03-28-2006 07:08 PM

Hi ladies, just a quickie here. Hope everyone's doing ok. I have a butterfly bush and it's gorgeous each summer. I cut it back each year, and it grows like crazy. The butterflies and hummingbirds like it. The hummingbirds like my tall summer phlox best, though.

Take care......

Marti 03-28-2006 07:22 PM

A quickie for me too!!

Jhanai has been talking about getting a butterfly bush!! How strange that you're all talking about it!

Landlord decided to down a tree yesterday.....who knew that people get up at 7:30 am to work.....so the last couple days.....all I hear is cutting and saws and piling into a truck. You know, quiet work!:D

Must get ready for work!

Hugs:hug:

Oh...can't forget: Welcome Patce!!!

Mom2Gaby 03-28-2006 08:24 PM

Welcome Patce!

I have this horrid cough and I am sure I am on my death bed but thought until I actually expire from coughing too hard I would say hello!!!!:dizzy:

I have 3 daughters Ginny and Control Freak Doug is father to the oldest 2 (who are 14 1/2 and 13). He has basically had them since our seperation in 2000. Rachel has emotional problems, extreme anger and cutting, skipping school and perhapes smoking weed.

She refused a drug test today. She really has been raised with a pack of wolves. I was talking to her in the car today and said "how do you think it would be if we dropped you off in a cave and you were raised by wolves?? Do you think you would have the tools to live in society"....she just looked at me and said "mom, you are wierd"....lol

Her father refuses treatment. I am just fed up and ready to pack for Hawaii. He is being so selfish. My mother says to go back into court and get sole custody, he also won't give me support for them until May or "a couple of months"....whatever that means.

better get. Gaby is wanting to go see the bunnies. She got this from Rachel, I don't know why she promised her a bunny. Kind of makes it hard for me!!!!! lol

Where is Ellen??????

What you drinking down there in the basement Ang??? lol I will come down and paint with you! :)

Ho to everyone!

Dahlia 03-28-2006 09:12 PM

Hi ladies,
:carrot:
Susan, thanks for bringing me up to par on your situation. I think you should get sole custody of Rachel, if her father isn't interested in getting her the help she needs then that just proves he shouldn't have any say in it. Sounds like he needs some counceling too. Also sounds like Rachel isn't to bad, she thought you were wierd asking her about the wolves.. good luck to both of you.:grouphug:

Christina, how did the house showings go? Hope you got some offers. How is Josh's knee doing? Have you heard anything yet?:goodvibes :goodluck:

Angie, what is this about you being in the basement all the time? I take it you had a different house that you were painting.:chin:

Things went well at work today. We are getting the planting done quickly so far. Hope we can keep up the pace. The weather is finally getting a little warmer.

Josh and his fiance are coming home Thursday night until next Wed. He is on spring break. Got him an appointment with the doctor for his back. It still bothers him. IT's his back and ribs. They better take x-rays and find out just what he did. Not to confident in the doc though. I used to go to him too, but changed cause he never took any of my complaints serious. He seems to do ok by hubby, he listens to him. :stars:

Just finished riding 6 miles:ebike: and had my shower. Am nice and tired, :tired: ready for bed. But I wanted to say hey to everybody and check in to see how you all were doing.

Will check in again in the morning. It's become a habit now.:comp:

Connie, how are you doing? Last time you posted you and hubby were having some medical problems. Hope you are both doing better. You can tell us about it, if you would like. We tell it all in here. IT's nice not to hold back, we are really quite good listeners, right girls? Right!!!:cofdate:

ok, good night all.
Ginny

tommysgirl18 03-28-2006 11:53 PM

welcome Patce!!!

nothing really new, just checking out some other options apartment wise. the boys are feeling much better. Brandon peed all over the kitchen floor in two seperate spots earlier today after he ate lunch. then after dinner her got some ice cream because he ate most of his dinner. He weighed 25 pounds when he was at the walk-in clinic two weeks ago, the following week when he went to the pediatrician's office, he was 28lbs. (he put on 3 lbs in a weeks time) now he is hovering over the 26 lbs mark.

would 2% milk help him put on some weight? the pediatrician didn't seem worried about it, so officially I am not worried about it. Just curious because he has been 25lbs since November.

HI LADIES
I am just popping in to say goodnight , I tried to post earlier when I got up,but lost my post so I gave up. I have had a crummy day, I don't know whats wrong with me, I am so blue ,stayed in bed all day.:( .Its one of those days you are mad at the sun for shining and the birds for singing. I guess I have some things on my mind lately and they wore me down. I really need to stop thinking, it never does me any good.I just wanted to check in and say hi, didn't want you to think I went awal again. Maybe tomorrow will seem brighter. I will try and catch up with you all tomorrow,Night girls.
Welcome Patce....

Dahlia 03-29-2006 07:37 AM

Good morning ladies,
Mindee, why don't you give your boys wholemilk, they need all the nutrients they are growing children.

Ellen, sorry you feel so blue. Maybe you just needed a day off for some rest. I know your mind gets a working and you don't really get that much rest even if you are in bed all day. Hope your up and feeling better today. Be glad the sun is shining and the birds are singing, it's a sign of spring so summer can't be to far.. so be happy.

I'm off to work, so this is short. It's almost April where did the time go? It's true the older you get the faster the time goes by.

Today is mil 91st birthday.

Have a good one and catch ya all tonight.

Ginny

FrouFrou 03-29-2006 04:09 PM

Good Afternoon ladies...

Man, I feel so tired! The last two days have killed me!

GINNY...Josh's knee is getting better thank goodness. I was so worried. He was supposed to go back tot he doc Monday and was/is going to call this evening to let me know what's up. I'm thinking it has gotten even better since he didn't call Monday after the appointment. The viewings went great! One of the couples really liked the house and called our realtor and told him that they are planning to make an offer but need a few days to think about it. But wanted to let him know in case we got other offers that they wanted a 24 hour notice. Anyway, they came back today to look at it again so keeping our fingers crossed it's a good offer! :crossed: HAPPY 91st BIRTHDAY to your MIL! Hoep they find out what is bothering (your) Josh's back and can do something for him.

ELLEN...sorry you are feeling down.  I think too much sometimes too. Jeez, sometimes I feel like I am having a nervous breakdown! But it all turns out fine and I know you will be fine as well. Any time you want to talk, just remember we are here for ya.

JANE...I've not seen any humming birds around my butterfly bush. :( Maybe this year, or when we move. I definitely will be planting one or two at the next house.

MARTI...you know...I know how ya feel. They are building a new house around the corner and I can hear them hammering loudly early in the morning. I can only imagine the saws and how noisy they were for ya. Hope you managed to get some sleep.

MINDEE...i'm with Ginny...why not give him whole milk? When the kids were off formula I switched them right too whole milk. If the doc doesn't seem concerned with his weight, then I would think he is fine though.

ANGIE...are you down in that basement today?!

SUSAN...sounds like Doug is being a royal pain in the booty! I'm surprised the courts haven't gotten involved and demanded Rachel be put in on of the group homes to get her the help she needs. I don't think it's just going to go away. And hopefully you do get sole custody and soon.

Hi to everyone else

I think after Jeopardy I am going to take a short nap before I cook dinner. Went to Wal-Mart and did my grocery shopping. You know...how long does it take to fix a parking lot? I have never seen anyone take this long. I think this is the third or fourth week of them working on it. The middle of the parking lot at the middle of the store. They have very little parking on either side of the mess. Jason tried to go there one evening after work and just kept on driving by. Anyway, then got home an dhad to put the stuff away and started straightening things up before the people showed up at 1. Well, I have to get out before so...I try to get out about 15-20 mns. before they are supposed to be here-doesn't always happen but I try. Yesterday I got my times mixed up and some people showed up at 12:25 as I was vacuuming. Jason was off work so was going with me and told the guy we were getting ready to leave. He said they were early so no problem, just take our time. I thought they were supposed to be there at 1! Ooops :o Ernie is liking his walks at the park and his rides to the park. Anyway, hoping for an offer soon. Guess I better get going.

Take care and have a good day ladies!

Marti 03-29-2006 04:59 PM

Afternoon gals!

Not to much going on around here. Feeling really lazy today! I hate feeling like that. I need an energy boost from somewhere! Wish the rain would just stop!!

I think I'll go have a cup of coffee and see if the perks me up.

sorry not doing individuals today.....I will later on.

patce 03-29-2006 05:51 PM

Thanks for all the welcomes. Now if I can get this puter to work. have tried the tips, but no luck so far.Sounds like you know each other.
My husband is retired & we've traveled a lot....but not as much as we used to.One DD & family lives in Fl...the other girl lives in a Columbus,Oh burb....60 miles from us.We all talk on e mail & IM every day.

Hi Ladieshttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6.../Flower1o3.gif I thought I would pop in tonight ,still down today ,but my daughter came over after work, and cheered me up a little, she always does , she is just one of those sweet spirits.I did a little today, not much, but maybe tomorrow. :)
Thankyou Ginny..http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6.../Flower1o3.gif. Its always nice to have friends to lean on sometimes , and you are right I should be glad that the sun is shining and the birds are singing ,just sometimes I get cloudy inside.:( WOW 91 years old, thats wonderful  to her. Its so true the older you get the faster the time flys.I'm getting some new brakes:lol: hope you having a great night
Thankyou Cristina..http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6.../Flower1o3.gif.Some things have been building up inside and I tend to hold it all in till I can't function. , I really don't like feeling this way. I used to hate showing my house when It was up for sale, you are always trying to keep it perfect and life doesn't work that way. It doesn't seem to matter how much notice you get anyways, there never seems to be enough time or the right time. I remember getting ready for one open house, I vacuumed and cleaned ,the mirrors sparkled ,the floors were spotless, the victorian rose pot pourri was brewing , the dog was out for a walk, I was ready just as the doorbell rang and I rushed around for a final check the kitty threw up on the rug in my room, to late to clean so I had to throw a decorative hat box on top, ewwwwww  ahhh memories. Good Luck on an offer and sale. I am so glad to hear Josh's knee is getting better, such a relief I'm sure.

Hi Pat...http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6.../Flower1o3.gifAgain Welcome you came in on one of my bad days.:) Sorry about your migranes  I used to get them on a rare occasion , but when I did they blinded me , and the pain was so severe I couldn't move my head or eyes. I hope you can get yours under control again. CONGRATULATIONS on your 20 lb weight loss , I know diets are boring , but what can we do. I have been struggling with a 35 lb weight gain over the last few years, I have always been thin but since I started on HRT 3 years ago , the weight just kept coming on. I also went through a separation after 25 years of marriage which I'm sure contributed greatly ,but nonetheless the weight is here and hard to get rid of. My daughter will be married this Christmas Eve and I need to start doing some serious work to get it off. Its a lot of extra weight to carry on my 5' 1" body and I have never felt healthy physically or emotionally since I gained it. There now you have it ,I am fat and unhappy  Glad to have you here, and I look forward to getting to know you as well. Have a wonderful night.

HI MARTI...http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6.../Flower1o3.gif. Did the coffee help, I hope so. Have you started the new hours yet.I don't remember when you said that came into effect. Oh there is nothing more annoying than sawing when you are trying to sleep, I have new construction going on down the road and some days you want to scream out the window  not that I have.......YET  hope your feeling better:hug:
"]Hello to everyone else,http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6.../Flower1o3.gif I guess you are all busy with something, Angie I suppose you are cutting the grass now  Jane , Mindee, Susansend that guy over here I want to fix his wagon  or pull the wheels off either way , I will take care of him for you. I hope your all having a wonderfully peacefull ,uneventfull evening.

da fat n da furious 03-30-2006 02:47 AM

Hey all,
Christina, its happen to us a couple of times where people jumped the gun and came to view early,,,drove me nuts. Well there is a house down the road from us (same house) except no basement developement, no garage, and no upgrades. They sold for exactly 100 grand more then we TRIED to sell a year and half ago. We figure we could get more then double then what we paid for it 5 years ago. But we won't.

Susan, it would be great if you could get sole custody of Rachel, no matter what his childhood was like Doug should be looking out for his childrens best interest...letting her do as she pleases is not whats best for her...Children do need boundries.

Patce, sorry about the migraines, had them for a few years,,,fingers crossed I won't anymore...other then barometric pressures. Slow weightloss is better then none or worse gain. This is a life style change.

Not much happening,,,did some cleaning, lots of laundry. Grocery shopped. Made a few turbins. Hate my sewing machine, need to have it overhauled. Did the tax thing,,,paid an obscene amount for registrations for all three vehicles. Monte's big truck was over $300. grrrr
Tomorrow I have my nails, and getting my hair cut and the platinum blonde taken out...lol
Im done all 3 of Tanner's costumes. His Aladdin one is easy, poor boy. Prince Ali is pretty wild in color,,,bright yellow and purple. And his wedding clothes is the best,,,white and gold...very rich looking. I will take alot of pictures.
Anyways that is about all Ive been doing,,,hand sewing everything ,,,$%^ sewing machine...lol And watching wayyy too much tv...

da fat n da furious 03-30-2006 02:52 AM

Hey Ellen, sorry your feeling down, do you feel this way alot? Could it be the HRT? You have been through alot and shouldn't feel bad about being down, we all feel that way one time or another. Im glad DD came over and gave you some sunshine. big hugs to you my friend!

Dahlia 03-30-2006 07:43 AM

Good morning ladies,
It's another lovely spring day, sun is shining and it's suppose to hit 61 today,, woohooo.. Ellen, you always have such pretty colorful posts, where do you find those cute pictures.. sorry you are still feeling down. Maybe it's time to give yourself some tough love and haul yourself up by your bootstraps and give yourself a good talking too..count your blessings, you know the glass is half full treatment... to get yourself back on track.

Patce, sorry about your migraines. I used to get them when I was younger and having babies.. had alot to do with hormones I'm sure. Also, as Angie said, barometer changes did it too... if you are still on hrt after 3 yrs, perhaps its time to talk with your doctor about getting off them. They now say 2 yrs is all you should be on them. I took myself off them, after talking with a doctor about it, not the one who prescribed them. Tried herbal remedies for the hot flashes etc. they worked pretty good. Now I am just winging it, and they do slow down.

Christina, glad to hear your Josh's knee is better. My Josh will be home this evening with his fiance'. They are staying till next Wed. we have a lot of wedding details to work out.

Not sure who said it, I really need to take notes, about children needing boundaries. My 4 yr. old grandson is a good one for that. He is very obstinate, and a little bully, but at the same time a very sweet little boy. There are times he needs some good old fashioned disclipine, and his daddy gives it to him, but mommy lets him rule the roost, he now thinks he is the boss and it gets him in lots of trouble. Sometimes it's hard to keep quiet.. my poor tongue gets bitten many times....

Marti, how is the walking coming. I rode another 7 miles last night. I now ride 5 days a week. Giving myself two days off so it don't become a chore. I've tried different levels and programs, too. If I knew where I was going I may be half way there already.. You working your new hours yet?

Jane, how is the weather down your way? How is your house coming?

Susan. how is Gaby, hope she is better and you too.

Ok, well I better get my teeth brushed and shoes on, have to get off to work. Those little darling seedlings won't plant themselves.. I've tried to use mental telepathy but to no avail. We are having a group lunch today, I am taking lasagna and texas toast. Try to only eat a little bit, let all the guys eat first.. hoping they eat alot.. Have son #3 coming over tonight with the 3 grandkids including the 4 yr. old. It's Smallville night. Angie how you coming with the series.. you caught up to season 5 yet?

Ok. will check in later before bedtime.. have a super duper day everybody and enjoy yourselves in whatever you are doing.

Ginny
