Hiya ladies,

Marti - I know I need a whole-body workout. I used to do a tape that was like gym class in school, and doing it enough weeks would tighten my whole bod. Wonder where that is......

Cristina - glad you've had a nice, slow day. We all need those once in awhile.

Ellen - my Mary and her family are buying our old house from us, and we intended to fix up the old homestead, only to find out it is beyond repair unless we want to put $200,000 or more in it. So that's why we were more or less forced in to a new house. Not that I'm complaining, lol. It will be ready for painting, etc, anyday now. I'm very excited about it! My living room will be done in navy, maroon, light blue and cream. I'm carrying the light blue and a lighter berry color to the kitchen with the neatest border. It has apples, an old fashioned glass measuring cup, a recipe sticking in the tines of a fork, etc. in it.

Susan - pineapple upside down cake - food porn!! YUM!! My sister Maggie makes the best you ever tasted. I haven't had any in years. Hey, the shortened hours sound great! Would you have to take a pay cut? Hope not.

Ginny - before I forget, have you read the series of books called Blue Dahlia, Red Rose (?) and Black Something? Angie - help me out here!! I read them, then got some of the gals here to read them. I forget the exact titles, and author, too. I passed them on to a friend awhile back. Anyway, there're about growers like you, and you'd LOVE them, I think.

Jules - I had no clue there were so many songs with my name in them, lol. My oldest sister Norma, who passed away, used to call me Janie. Now Neal is the only one who does. I'm kind of old for it, but it's sweet coming from him.

Speaking of Neal, he's off at church, practicing his guitar, and I'm waiting for Gilmore Girls to come on. There are 2 episodes tonight, and I haven't seen the 2nd one. I just had some fresh tomatoes with Light Done Right ranch salad dressing as a snack. Love tomatoes!

Have a good evening, ladies. :)

Hey all, just got back from errands. Did my family Dr. appointment first, he thought I was doing great, got him to write me a note saying I can go back to work, dropped that off at work. *sigh so in exactly 16 days I am back at work.
Did my unemployment thing, so eventually I will get some money from when I was off, 60% of my wages.
Chiropractor visit, and feeling good.
I was starving and did the dumb thing of stopping at burger king, got a jr. whopper, well I ate half and thought it tasted funny, so for about an hour after that I felt ill. Im ok, now, but what a big turn off.
well off to make dinner...

Mom2Gaby 03-21-2006 08:34 PM

I am going home now!!! I had the most wonderful salad from TraderJoes...Italian with parmesan vinaigrette dressing - yum.
No, Jane. The time would come from my sick hours, I have 200 of those and I told Supervisor that maybe just this week and next week and I will be "well" *snicker* to go back to 40 hour weeks. So, no....I wouldn't lose pay. Final Answer.

Jules - we saw the cutest Sunshine (that was his name)kitty at the pound. He sucked on his arm because he was weaned too early from his mother and he was nervous.

k- better get. I am going to go to Goodwill and take back my DVD that I bought because the back doesn't have the same cords that I do and I can't make it work though I have tried, just doesn't so no sense in keeping it if it doesn't work. At least that is what I think but what the heck do I know.......:blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah:

eloisecat 03-21-2006 09:59 PM

Jane:
I just started doing a great workout video that I bought at a WW meeting. It has three levels (I do the hardest because I get 5 points for it!!), and each 30-minute workout uses hand weights, so you get a really good full-body workout. I like it a lot!

da fat n da furious 03-22-2006 01:20 AM

Jane its Nora Roberts. Blue Dahlia, Black Rose and Red Lily.

Susan sounds like we had a similar dinner, I had some parm cheese, and a tiny 1 inch cube of harvati so I grated that up too...lots of garlic oooo ya. The salad was so yummy.

Going to go to bed early tonight,,,no more 1 am for me.
night

Dahlia 03-22-2006 07:48 AM

Good morning ladies,

OK, yes Jane I have read Nora Roberts trilogy. And yes I like her books. They were good, however, I found many discrepancies concerning growing flowers in the books.

And JULES excuse me but I do not play with the flowers all day... believe me it is a lot of work, we do things in mass quantities and try it for a while and see just how much *FUN* it is. :nono: :?:

Well, I came back from babysitting last night and since it wasn't to late I rode my bike a little over 6 miles.:ebike:

Today is very downcast, looks like it may rain. As long as it don't snow. It is still very cold out.:rain:

Not much to say this morning. Have to get ready for work. Will check in later.

Ginny

jules1216 03-22-2006 08:26 AM

Jane--my Dad is a very negative person that makes very cutting remarks--all with a big smile on his face but my fave memories of him are singing "the Monster Mash", "House of the Rising Sun" & to me "Julie, Julie do ya love me"

Angie--I love my chiro!!

Susan--my MIL had a big Himalayan (SP?) named Satin Blue that did the same thing. DS son's cat is funny when you first walk through the door of his apartment his cat runs to see if it's him and when you are not he turns his nose and walks away. Now his girlfriend Alicia is included in the cat's run for the door. The cat has good taste cause we all love her too--so glad my DS finally came to his senses and realized what a great person she is.

Ginny--had a very rough stressful day at the office--area was downsized and huge new project was given to me--part of it feels alot like debt collecting (which is definitely not part of my job description) and this week everyone is calling and yelling and trying to get me to send product before I have the payments that were due in December because the material is dated for April-May-June quarter. Working with plants & in the dirt sounds so stress relieving at this time of the quarter. Meant no offense. I have had many "physical" jobs in my lifetime so I was not trying to infer that your job in not hard work. I went to work sanding kitchen cabinents at minimum wage so that I would have medical insurance for my son when he was six weeks old--I can't complain though the job did help me to drop the pregnancy pounds!!

da fat n da furious 03-22-2006 09:58 AM

Good morning all,
Went to bed early and here I am up early. To spooky fog.

Jules, Ive worked in a company that has had layoffs, and then forced to do the extra work. That is very stressful, being over worked and with an axe over the head, worried you would be next.

Ginny, 16 greenhouses is huge! Like I said when I did retail and we sold bedding plants and such we did put up a greehouse. It wasn't as large as normal greenhouses but I helped set up the merchandise, my muscles were screaming after that. Didn't you ride earlier in the morning too?

Jane, food porn? Is that we call bad foods...lol So how did your show go? I watched Gilmore Girls once and it was hilarous. Going to have to watch it again. Another show Im really getting into is Reba,,,the character Barbara Jean cracks me up. Its just cheesy fun...

My big plans for today is grocery shop, and then going to another school to get all their costumes from when they did Aladdin. Going to try and make it to go watch Tan's rehearsal.

Well Im off,,,later

Mom2Gaby 03-22-2006 12:32 PM

Good Morning!!! I am back!!:hat:  :fr: :twirly:

I got up early, like 5:10 am and just got ready for work. I let Rach stay at home. I am just going to let her go to alternative school. It was awesome just to come to work early.
I stopped at Starbucks and picked up a yummy sourdough turkey sandwish with cucumber slices. I ate it on the way to work and sipped my venti. I pretended not to have any children and thoughts of spending money on myself. It was awesome.

We decided on naming Jack -Mr Jingles (because he jingles with all his tags on and Rach came up with it) I kind of wanted Salem but Rach said no.....blah - blah.

We went to Goodwill last night and I couldn't find anything so we went to Freddies (a 1 stop shop store. You basically can find alll sorts of things and you don't have to spend your time shopping around - thus one shop- get it?? blah - blah. )
anyway, I bought a white short sleeve blouse for 14.00 - down from 20 something- wearing it with my one pair of Gloris Vanderbilt capris that fit.So, that is what I am wearing today. Bursting out of all my clothes. Not a pretty site!:fr:

k- I better scoot.......no, I don't have worm....yuk.....I swear that cat poops all the time! tata

FrouFrou 03-22-2006 01:13 PM

Hello ladies...

Busy day of posting yesterday!

Thought I would wake up early and go to Wally World before all the kiddies get up. Seems like when the kids are out of school they always end up at Wal-Mart with the mommies and they get crazy sometimes. Anyway, got in and out and home by 9:15-I think that's a first for me. Actually, no it's not. When I took the kids to school I always did my errands early. Don't really have a need to get up that early anymore though.

SUSAN...mmmmmm...pineapple upside down cake and cookies! :T Yummy to my tummy! I did good when I bought groceries this morning. I went before I ate and everything was looking good to me. But I didn't buy any junk and am proud for not doing so. (((((HUGS))))) to you and Rachel.  What the heck was that person (visitor) thinking? I know she was probably checking to make sure Rach was at school but...hope she wasn't embarrassed or anything. But then she did call you to come home so I know it made her feel bad, poor thing. Glad you told the visitor what's up. Don't think I could deal with surprise visits either.

Hiya MS ELLEN...don't ever feel bad for posting what's going on in your life, whether it's good or bad. Doesn't matter what is going on in my life that it should effect what you write/type here about you and your life. That't life and I can handle it, or try to anyway! :D And THANK YOU! That means a lot to me. :thanks:  You are definitely going to have to share pix of what you are doing to your house! I love all the colors you have chosen-it sounds so pretty. And I know it is because I saw the pictures before and it was nice. Well, about the new house...I am trying not to get too excited for fear of losing it, easier said than done though. We are planning some things, such as paint colors. And I have been trying to figure out what to do for window coverings. The boys rooms are easy, as ar the baths. It's the living room, dining area and kitchen I'm not sure about. We want to do the same green we did here, (green bough) in the living room and dining area. But then it gets tricky. The kitchen is curver, which I love and the breakfast nook is open to the living room. Well, I want yellow in the kitchen, it's actually a gold color. But I am afraid it will clash with the living room/dining area. And where to start with one color and end with it. The kitchen nook is open to the living room but is divided by the basement stairs. We are doing sage in the master bath though. I wanted it in the master bedroom but it is just off the living room and if the door is always open I am afraid it will just look horrible. I don't want it to seem like an extension of the living room. So, we are going to do a soft, creamy beige in there. Ah, decisions, decisions. Anyway...the house is a yellow ranch style with almost 1,500 sq. ft. on the main floor. Has a triple garage which V loves! Has 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, kitchen w/nook (so no more eating at the counter), living room/dining area combo. Corner fireplace in the lr with a big picture window also that looks out the big backyard. The lot is 66x217 and backs up to horse pasture. The front yard has been sodded so we will seed the back and have to build a fence. And of course plant some trees and shrubs. We want to do an Asian type garden complete with pond, Buddha and a pagoda across the whole back length of the fence...have something pretty to look at when I am on the deck, in the backyard or just looking out the living room window. Another reason i don't know what kind of window coverings to go with because I don't want the view spoiled or closed. Let's see...Has tile floors in the kitchen, entry, laundry room and both baths. I will actually have a laundry room instead of a laundry closet like here. The master bath has a corner jacuzzi tub-to die for! Has a full basement and DD wants the bedroom down there, it's almost the size of the master. It is framed in and they already put one wall separating the bedroom from the family room. it is plumbed for a bathroom too. There will be a bedroom, bathroom, family room, office and a huge walk-in closet for storage. It is curved like the kitchen so the way it is, there could be another bedroom but we plan on using it for an exercise room and the very back of it will be storage. You know for my christmas decorations and stuff like that. It's in a subdivision but on the outskirts of town, about 3 miles from where we are now, same town. Now all we need to do is get this house sold so we can get moving! keep your fingers crossed! :crossed: Will post some pics of it later. V took some of that house and another so we could decide which one wanted. i really wanted the green one across the street but the neighbors have three big dogs that barked everytime we went out back to look. Thought it would be a problem with Ernie because he would be sniffing and barking right back at them. IT would never stop!

ANGIE...how much or what rooms are you painting Sage? I guess I missed that somewhere. Green is my new color-I LOVE GREEN! I could use a visit to the chiro. One visit does me good but the chiro always wants me to go three days a week. I don't really feel that I need three days so haven't been in ages.

GINNY...it was me talking about the lint tray and you are right. That's exactly why the dryer has the feature that turns itself off when it gets hot. I just never dreamed it was because of fabric softener build up-never heard of such a thing and never, ever had to wash a lint tray with soapy water before. But good to know what it is and what to do to prevent it in the future. WOW, 16 green houses?! That's enough to keep a person busy to say the least!

JANE...I have a dear friend who is in her 60's and goes by Janie and has for most of her life. I found out her real name is Emily Jane when people would come in the hospital gift shop to purchase something for their new born baby. We would start talking about names...she would ask them if they had a name picked out and once suggested the name Emily. So we started talking and that's when she told me her name. I don't think you are too old to be called Janie.

JULES...funny because yesterday DD and I were just talking about The House of The Rising Sun-love that song! She was remembering her dad and two songs he used to play and sing...one being Little Red Riding Hood and The Most Beautiful Girl by Charlie Rich (he used to sing that to me). We always had a great time and loved to hear him play his guitar and sing. But she remembers those two songs the most. Anyway, I told her that he tried to play the House of The Rising Sun for me because in high school I had a friend whose dad played and sang that soooo good! He sounded just like the Animals but he was just one! Anyway, he also loved playing Gloria by the Rolling Stones, Wipe out and anything from the Eagles. Those were some of the songs he played when he was in a band. Ah, those were the days...so many good memories. Anyway, My sister also loved that song...Julie, Julie, Julie do ya love me, Julie, Julie, Julie do ya care...her name is Julie Ann. Anyway...sorry you had a rough, stressful day at work.

NANCY...does this video have a name? And is it one you can only get at WW? I am always looking for a new work-out video. I don't buy many but have some of the WATP (walk away the pounds) ones and my all time favorite is Richard Simmons dancing to the oldies! I seemed to have lost that one somewhere though. IT's funny because the kids will take them and use them in their room. I found my Denise Austin's Pilates in Josh's room when we painted after he left.

MINDEE...hope all is well with you and yours. How are the kiddoes doing? Hope they are feeling better. Any word yet on the house?

Hi to everyone else

Again, a slow day for me so I will be spending some time on the ole 'puter. Not sure what happened that I have nothing to do this week, other than clean that is. Going to do one of my exercise videos and some weights today and always, have cleaning to do. I finally went and bought me something for my first 10 pound goal. It's a bracelet. Here's a link to it if anyone wants to take a gander. http://www.madisyntaylor.com/index_215.html I love the meaning of it. I wanted the pink one because I love the color but went with the blue for it's meaning. Anyway, I think I have gone on enough. This is a VERY long post!

Have a very Happy Hump Day ladies!

FrouFrou 03-22-2006 01:26 PM

Hiya SUSAN... hey, love Mr. Jingles...think it is cute! Salem is cute too. One day I am going to get another dog and it's name will be either Ginger or Cocoa. I have had those names picked for years. While living in CA I have wanted a little dog, OMG, can't remember what those little rat dogs are....anyway, those are the names I had picked out. But then we started looking for one and the prices were anywhere from $300 up to $1000! :yikes: I was wanting a pet, not a stinking show dog. Needless to say, I never got one. But then those names were for a girl. Thinking maybe Sam or Max if I get a boy. :blah: :blah: :blah: I am so jealous...I can't believe you guys have capri wearing weather. :( Went to wally world this morning and almost froze my booty off! If only it were that easy. It is sooo cold, brrrrr! And it was snowing a little. Tired of this gloomy weather. Send some of that weather you guys are having here, please.:^: Maybe Rachel will be better off at the alternative school...does she want to go? I can only imagine what is going on with her. You know kids have their own troubles and sometimes they can't express it like they want to, or at all so they hold it in. Just want to give her and you bunches of ((((HUGS)))).   Okay, gone on long enough.

Have a good day missy, you and the girls! That's an order! :drill:

Jane 03-22-2006 02:43 PM

Hello ladies,

Angie - well, look at it this way, you have 15 more days to have fun. :) Thanks for the info on the trilogy. I knew you'd know what I was talking about. I too love the Barbara Jean character on Reba - she cracks me up!! Food porn is reading about foods that make you salivate and/or want to cheat on your diet. Bad, bad, bad. Tee hee.

Susan - well, yay for getting paid for sick hours, if you do end up taking them. How was the turkey and cucumber sandwich? It sounds devine.

Nancy - I'm all for whatever gets us more WW points, lol.

Ginny - you're doing great with the bike riding!

Jules - both of my DHs played House of the Rising Sun for me. Neal still does, and unlike the 1st DH, Neal really has talent. Btw, aren't you going to Portland in June for the get-together?

Cristina - aww, I was all set to see your bracelet and the page said "couldn't be found". So tell us all about it, ok? I love buying/getting/reading about bling-bling. :D

Hello to all others.

I'm doing well with the food. Have I mentioned this salad dressing before? It's Paul Newman's Lighten Up honey mustard and it's wonderful on chicken or turkey sandwichs. Susan's sandwich reminded me of it. Anyway, I like to find new products to keep things interesting.

Gotta run!

jules1216 03-22-2006 03:18 PM

Jane--I am undecided on the Portland trip since DH's stepfather is in the final stages of pancreatic cancer so we are sticking close to home as he is 8 hours away from us. The kids want to go down this summer when DD gets out of school. My DH plays organ, dulcimer, autoharp & harp. My favorite song that he plays me since we first met was "lighter shade of pale". I love that song.......

Angie--I love the Barbara jean character on Reba--she makes me giggle too.

Susan--I like Mr Jingles! So glad Rach is home with you--it gets better after the teenage angst is gone!

Cristina--there is actually a guy named Dave (happily married) here at work that sings that old Bobby Sherman song to me--my husband (who works here too) always jokes that he is going to go start singing to Ellen (Dave's wife) if he doesn't stop it. I also have the record.....

Angie---though I am stressed it is much less stressful since the thorn in my side was transferred to a different dept--I though I was going to have a nervous breakdown when she was still here. She was doing the bad things and I was told I'd have to be nicer and got to do her work while she goofed off!!

Marti 03-22-2006 04:09 PM

So many posters since I last came in!!

As I sit here, I stare at the little pedometer I've been wearing to work.............I left it home last night!! I went to check my steps and I didn't have it on!! Can you believe it??? Today...it will be w/me. Another gal wore hers yesterday and wanted to compare steps and since she doesn't smoke, she knew I would have more steps...of coarse, didn't have mine on! But she walked 2.5 miles. Not too shabby.

Jane--I love tomatoes too. The ones that we've been picking lately just haven't been the greatest though. I keep telling James that it's just that time of year. We love to add it to this pasta salad, and they're always mushy. (Maybe If I'M the one to go pick the tomatoes out, they'd be ok!!) :D

Angie--With only 16days left, I'm sure you'll make the most out of those days!! You're always so busy when you are working, I can never keep up. Have fun watching Tanners rehearsal.

Susan--I love Trader Joes!! I love getting their sandwhiches for lunch. They always have good cheeses too! Hmmm....sounds like I need to make a trip to Trader Joes this weekend!!

Jules--Sorry you had such a stressful day at work. We had a department meeting last night and was shocked to hear that our Manager will be moving on to another project and that they'll be posting his position. Crazy! Lots of changes going to happen. Just wish my hours would hurry and change before it gets too hectic!!

Ginny--Fantastic on the 6miles!! If we didn't have so much rain all the time here, I would hurry up on getting my bike fixed. I'm just not into riding my bike in the rain and having the splash streak up my behind!:D (and that's with a fender on!!)

Cristina--The bracelet is so pretty!! What a great 10lbs goal!! Congratulations by the way!! I need to have a 10lbs goal......just have no idea what I would want. (too many things to choose from) I too got the "page not found" message but it gave me the option to click on a link and it popped up. (try that Jane)

Nancy--I had no idea that WW had exercise videos too!

Better take my dogs out...then browse a bit before I clean up.....

GOOD AFTERNOON LADIES ......How is everyone today, its gloomy here and cold , old man winter just won't let it go.I have a sore throat today for some strange reason, I hope I'm not coming down with anything, I sure don't need that.I have some housework to do ,the usual stuff , but tomorrow its back to painting. I actually have to force myself to finish this, cause the will isn't willing  I have bad arthritis in my fingers , a few are worse than the others and they can be very painful .Its hard when everthing you do is with them , so I have to take breaks but the breaks , brakes the mood  yeah can't win. Enough about me,how are you ladies?

HI JULES....I have a small tortie pointe named Paris , she is beautiful and sweet but she to picks and chooses when and who she will associate with , they are so cute always looking grumpy ,when we look at her we can't help but smile. How many kitties you you have ? How long did you do the sanding job, I dread sanding its one of my least favorite things to do, I dislike having to do the prep work before painting , the painting I don't mind, its the before and after I dislike.I never had a job that wasn't hard ,it was either physically or emotionally stressful, I get stressed out making cakes, always worrying about something going wrong, I guess that's why its called work :lol:i hope your having a wonderful day:hug:
HI CRISTI.... The house sounds lovely, I bet you are so excited, change is good, your property sounds lovely to. I have a large yard its 300 ft long but because I am in a semi-detatched its narrow only 35 ft. I have considered moving many times over the past year, I would really like to be closer to my daughter, but then I would be leaving my son behind , she's not really that far only about 30 minutes or so, but since I don't have a car I can't get to her house unless she picks me up. She is always happy to bring me over, I just don't like her having to drive me home at night, and then drive all the way home. I don't know, maybe its just being alone syndrome, worrying about something happening and me being alone. Since I fell down the stairs a few years ago, and hurt myself pretty bad, its always on my mind. My poor son forgot his key so he rang the doorbell and I came trotting down the stair and tripped on my sock and went down the stairs , to his horror watching through the all glass front door. The door was locked and I was badly hurt, and he was frantically banging on the door, to get my daughters attention who was doing laundry in the basement. Poor boy he was so frightened he was crying ,I was crying, sheesh ,so to make a long story longer my daughter came running up the stairs hearing the banging on the door and let my son in to rescue me.Of course I refused to go to the hospital, and I spent two weeks in agonizing pain crawling in and out of bed. How the heck did I get from your house to me falling down the stairs  oh yeah moving, thats what it was. I hope you get your house sold , its awful being in limbo like that, wanting to move on with your life, and not being able to. I think you will be very happy when you get things settled. I can't wait till we start decorating and the pictures start coming, Your new house , Janes new house , Sue is building to , is that right ,so much fun decorating , even if its just a room it just adds a sparkle to our lives doesn't it. Its been so long since I sat in a finished room and just enjoyed it, I am so looking forward to doing that. I just want a nice cup of tea and a good Debbie Macomber book ,my kitties beside me and I will be in my glory  I can hardly wait to see your new house , good luck, I will send good selling vibes your way  Have a great day.

HI JANE....
I don't see you yet , must be busy packing, new houses are so exciting, now I am getting a little jealous, but so happy for you all. I think this is it for me, unless I win the lottery or my son becomes a rock star  My future son in law always tells me as soon as he starts making really good money he wants to buy a huge farm and build me my own little house beside theirs. Actually I told my son just yesterday that when he becomes a rock star , maybe he might get me some better windows, although this house is only 5 years old it seems to be cold sometimes , he suggested that possibly he could , but he'd rather buy me a better house. I love everything about this house, although I may prefer a one floor opposed to the two storey and a single family would eliminate hearing your neighbours, not that they are a problem just if they moved who knows what the next owner will be like .Besides I would like to eliminate causing myself further harm if possible:lol: I really don't need the three bedrooms or two bathrooms, one of each will do nicely unless I have grandbabies then two bedrooms would be nice. Oh I will just be satified with what I have, I have more than a lot of people and have no right to complain, even though I do sometimes. Time will take care of itself , and I best take of the time I have . I hope all is well in your lovely family, and grandbabies.

HI SUSAN... I like Mr. Jingles,Salem is cute to. When we got Grover I didn't want to call him that ,but my son insisted it was a great name, so I gave in. I would have preferred something else , and I think Grover would have to , but neither of us had a choice  You have to stop talking about all that yummy food your eating your driving me crazy with cravings:lol: cake and cookies ,sheesh girly. Your already wearing capri's how warm is it there, its freezing here and we had snow last night, which is gone today, but its so cold and gloomy out. I used to always feel guilty about spending money on myself , when the kids were younger we would go shopping and I would put things in the shopping cart that I needed and before I got to the checkout I would put them all back. HI GINNY.... Good for you riding six miles , good job , sounds like you girls are all so motivated to working out, I know I keep saying I need to start up again, but I really need to start up again  I found the dress I want to wear to my daughters reception , which will be held on New Years Eve, and I need to get busy if I am going to make it work. She will be married on Christmas Eve and their will be a small family reception afterwords and I will be wearing probably a dressy two peice suit then HELLO New Years meets Mother of the Bride, so I have much work to do.:lol:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...rose1/7466.jpg What do you think to much , I don't even know if I can get it yet ,I just picked it off a website. I guess we'll see . Hope your having a wonderful day:hug:

HI ANGIE.... I love Reba and Barbara Jean is my favorite character she is a hoot. I also watch Gilmore Girls , you should watch it more often its a really good show. :jig: Good evening all,
Ellen,I am always breathless when I finish your post.. :) :jig: but I love it. I have found a dress I want to wear for my son's wedding this Aug. too, it's on line. But I am not ordering it until later, hoping to be ordering a smaller size.

I intend to ride for about an hour tonight. Marti, you do realize my bike is in my bedroom, its an encumbant bike.:ebike: I can set it on certain programs, so far I am on A ride in the park.. I am thinking about going up another level, it's like taking a harder path in the park. I put Everybody Loves Raymond on or HGTV and I ride away.

IT was trying to spit out some snow this morning, but it gave up after a while. The sun popped out for a brief hello then crawled back under the dark heavy clouds again. The sky is so dark, I wouldn't be surprised if we got some snow over night, I sure hope not.

Signed up my third fundraiser group this morning. I now have a ladies Child study group, a soccer league and an 8th grade class of one of our local schools. I enjoy working with the kids and groups. IT's one of the more fun parts of my job even though it can get very stressful before it's over. Jules it's funny you think the planting part would be play after stressing out at work...but I actually would rather sit at my desk all day and do the office work, pushing papers and making calls. I enjoy working with the people and solving problems and straightening out situations. It's a challenge. I guess all jobs have there good and bad parts. I'm glad I have so many sides to my work, I get to do a little of everything.

Just talked with Josh, my son who hurt his back. He is doing much better. Thank goodness for pain pills. He said they sent him home on Monday and early on Tuesday. they are being really understanding about it. That is always good.

Talking to son #2, it could be anytime... my new grandson's arrival is almost here. Getting excited....:bb:

Well, I am going to go up now and do some riding.. I'll check in again in the morning.. Have a great evening everyone

Hi everyone!

Pretty busy day here at Chez Rosiekate. My knitting buddy and I are going to knit the same shawl at the same time -- for moral support because neither of us has knit a full-on laceshawl before. Nancy - you out there? ever knit a shawl before? http://www.fibertrends.com/viewer/V4_shawls.html Scroll down to the Flower Basket Shawl - it will be a challenge; glad I have a friend going through the same misery, lol. I'll set a goal to get it done to wear for the JL trip to Portland.

Thanks for all the good vibes re:DD's preschool. I registered her for her current school, because I really was given no time to think about all the changes before the deadline. So she has a spot there, and we are #1 on the waiting list for the new school. I think she will end up in a good school no matter what and that makes me happy. One option will mean more work than the other, but if that's the way it has to be I can make it work for a year if that's what it takes. DD had speech therapy today and she's doing so well with the little boost she's getting from that. Just reminded me about how much I want to see all this momentum with her confidence to continue.

I am getting ready to take the kids to visit my mom in Condon for part of Spring Break. It will be nice to get out of town. My mom and I pretty much drink wine and watch HGTV. Big treat for me as we do not have cable. I plan on getting lots of great ideas for decorating our new rooms.

Jane - I can't believe how fast your house has come together! I can tell you're excited about it - I would be too. The colors sound just beautiful.

Ginny
- a new grandbaby - congratulations - or almost anyway. Any day now...I can't remember - do you live close enough to be there for the birth? Or are you going to travel to visit the new baby?

Ellen - I LOVE that dress! So classy....

I have to go get DS from a playdate, so Hi to everyone else
Hope you are all having a good day

Katy

da fat n da furious 03-23-2006 01:19 AM

Katy can you make me both the Bella and Charlottes easy shawl? I think thats a great idea about both of you doing it at the same time. What color?

Susan, I like the name Mr. Jingles, one of my favorite movies is The Green Mile, Tom Hanks,, anyways the lil mouse was called Mr. Jingles.
I did the Starbucks thing today too, I had a Chai Tea Latte, (please Jane tell me its not food porn!)

Ginny so good to hear about your son, back injuries are so brutal to have.

Christina, I like the colors you are going with. I think there is got to be a way that you can get your yellow/gold is there a wall that is not touching the other walls? My living room has one wall that is painted a gold color, its called Wedding Ring. And then the rest of the walls are either cream or sage green.

Jules WAHOOO on the co worker from HECK not working near you again...so with mine gone too, we only now have to get rid of Susan's....

Marti, Id like to get a good tracker,,,but seriously I don't walk all that much other then I want to keep a record of my walks,,,once the ice has totally melted.
Didn't get to go see Tanner's rehearal. BUT hit the big jackpot on costumes. I broke out in a sweat seeing all the beautiful stuff. And I got to bring home alot of them. I was giddy...lol Tanner called me from school and told him I was on the way to pick him up and told him to keep the teachers there.....wanted them to see my treasures...lol They had gotten most of the costumes from Value Villiage, in the NE of the city. There is a higher population of East Indians and I guess they gave away alot of their old clothes...bonus for us. So now all I am needing is Tanner's wedding clothes.

well I should get to bed....more adventures tomorrow...lol

I don't know what time it is where you all are, but its late here and I should be heading to bed , not really much to say ,I guess I said to much earlier, anyway I hope all is well with you and I will talk again tomorrow if I'm not to busy painting. Have a good night girls.

tommysgirl18 03-23-2006 02:18 AM

Let’s see, where to catch you all up from. On Saturday, the 18th, we had to take Logan into the ER. He wasn’t keeping any of his food in his belly. So, off we went. They checked him out, gave him a breathing treatment, a dose of steroids and off we were. We ended up going to help friends of ours move. So, we ended up getting a hotel that night. On the king sized bed in the hotel was me, Logan and Brandon. The bed was too soft for Tommy so he slept on the couch. We noticed on Sunday that there was a whitish colored discharge coming from Logan’s right ear. I called the doctor’s office on Monday, and after waiting to hear back from them, I finally got a call and was told that the pediatrician wanted to see him Tuesday morning at 9:30am.

Took Logan into the pediatrician yesterday. He doesn’t have an ear infection, but she said that his ear drum is sideways (I think….long day can’t remember). Then we went grocery shopping and ran into my mom. We went over to her house, and she gave us a couple of things. Both boys are better today. Logan is doing great!

The boys are doing much better today. Logan isn’t as wheezy as he has been. Brandon is back to his normal typical boy self. Logan hasn’t thrown up on me since yesterday morning. So we are in the clear, I hope!

Ellen~ It is so good to hear from you! Thanks for the congrats on Logan. The place is nice. Work isn’t going well, Tommy has been out of work for a little over a month now, so there isn’t any work up here. So, we are looking for apartments down in the city, since that is where the work seems to be. We like it, but like I mentioned, there is no work.

Jules~ Brandon is on medicine because he had an earache. Logan is on a nebulizer and Albuterol. They have a vaporizer in there room. We also get them in the cold air so that can help with their breathing. (Brandon is as close to 100% as he can be. Logan is getting there, he still has stuffiness when he wakes up, but at least we are not chasing after his runny nose!)

Jane~ I am doing good, thanks for asking. We have just been so busy lately. Last week, was crazy! Monday night we were in the ER/walk-in clinic with Brandon, when we got home Logan started to act sick. Wednesday, we took both boys into the pediatricians office. We were told Logan has RSV and Brandon has bronchiolitis with an ear infection. Saturday, it was back to the ER, but with Logan. So far this week, we have had to go to the pediatrician’s office on Tuesday. Plus, we have been looking for apartments back down in the city. (no point staying up here if there is no work, right? So we are going to go where the work is at)

Susan~ I am sending lots of hugs your way!

Ginny~ They are doing better.

Marti~ Like I mentioned to Jane, I am doing good. Just been very busy! We are actually glad that they are both sick at the same time, for the same reasoning that you mentioned.

I think I worked out a little too much the other night. My neck is sore, so I am guessing maybe I might have pulled or strained something in my neck. I finally got weights, and maybe I did too much.

Cristina~ Nope, no word on the house. In fact, I am doing a search right now for apartments and we will go down Friday and check them out. We are going to turn in an application for a place that our friends just moved into. The kiddos are doing good, they are getting better.

Dahlia 03-23-2006 07:50 AM

Good morning,

Mindee: glad to hear the boys are doing better. You had a rough week with the boys. IT's always hard when they are both sick like that, but glad it's finally getting done with. Be careful with those weights, don't want to hurt yourself, you have to many to take care of there, don't need you getting sick or hurt.

Katy, unfortunately no, I am in Michigan and the baby is coming in Calif. I will not see him until they come for youngest son's wedding in Aug. There is no chance for us to get away until July and then it's only a month till the wedding so as hard as it will be, I won't see him till then. We have web cams and of course pictures.... I will have to be satisfied with that. We try to see them at least once a year, twice if possible, it's really hard with their being so far away.

Angie, I take it Tanner is in a school program, did you say it was an Aladdin story? Sounds like you are having a good time with the costumes. I always enjoyed watching the kids perform. They are so cute.

Well Jane, you didn't keep the snow at your place. We got a sprinkling of it last night. I figured we would, the sky was so black. But the sun is already out and shining here this morning, so this stuff will be melted by noon. But it is still so darn cold.

Son #4 just called, he is working with us for now, his job was downsized when the company sold to another company, so he got laid off. He had scoliosis when he was younger and ended up having his whole back fused together with a rod up his spine. After the surgery he gained 2 and a half inches in height. Anyway he hurt his back at work too on Wed. and just called to say he is taking another day off. Seems to run in the family, these back problems.

Son #3 just called also, he is the one with the 3 grandbabies. They are coming for supper tonight. Liver and onions, his choice. We get together every Thursday for supper and then we watch Smallville together. He is the one who got me hooked on it.

Ellen, I did not say you talk to much.. I love to read your post, it's just that they are so full of energy that when I read them I get breathless. That is a compliment, so keep writing just like you are.

Since I have been feeling better, I am not drinking as much water. And I seem to be plateauing,, the scale has not moved for a few days. I have to remember to keep drinking....it's just so hard to do that when working. I can't keep taking potty breaks, it's a long walk to the potty.. but hey that is exercise right? only it takes time away from working... o what a vicious cycle we weave.....

well better end this and get my shoes on, and get off to work. Check inlater...

Ginny

Katy--I am back to knitting scarves after a refresher on how to cast off!! There is a shop nearby that gives lessons and I am going to take a class to learn more than just knit & purl. Later this spring they are giving a class in knitting shawls that sounds interesting--it says even beginners can take the class. (ps--still no Coke--but I am slacking on the water!)

Jane---mmmm.mmmm honey mustard on turkey......you give the best food porn--I am going to check out the Newmans Lighten Up honey mustard.

Marti--last year fall they gave out pedometers at work to everyone and had us track our steps and then HR came up with the "traveling" we had done and where it took us and what items of interest could be seen there. It was actually pretty neat.

Nancy (& Jane) -- one if my favorite exercise tapes at home is Cosmopolitan Tonetics, it's a full workout but unfortunately my second one is wearing out--I did see a couple n Ebay.....

Ellen--I sanded kitchen cabinents for over a year before getting a job as a title abstractor (I did all the background land/home title research to make sure the seller has no secrets) I loved that job and was there until I got pregnant with DD and became a stay at home mom. As far as the backyard kittys.... there are four regulars and I can actually pet two of them. At our last place there was a farm nearby so there were ALWAYS strays. For a while a baby skunk joined that group--I was afraid that it would spray one of us or the other cats or our dogs, but it never did. I never tried to pet it though it did come really close to me a couple of times.

Angie--I just wish people would stop coming to me and asking me if she did the same things when she worked for me......YES, yes and yes....she is not a good worker and I doubt she ever will be... I hope Susan soon joins our "see ya later" club for bad coworkers!!

speaking of Susan.....HI SUSAN!!!! Hope all is well with you

Mindee..I am glad your little ones are getting better..make sure you take care of you too!!

Cristina--I like the colors you picked....all of you home decorators are going to get me motivated.....Bracelet is nice and congrats to reaching a goal!!

Ginny--I can only say that I am sorry if I offended you with a comment that was not intended to have any malice in it--I too enjoy solving problems and working with people which is why for the most part I do love my job..it just has it's stressful moments and at this point I can't wait for the weather to warm up and get out into the yard. We put a new green tin roof on our small house last fall and this spring I am going to paint the shutters and edging hunter green to match. COME on warm weather!!! I agree with you on the water--if I keep up on drinking at least three to four 20 oz bottles, the weight comes off--when I stop I do the plateau thing too.

DS's girlfriend came with me to Pilates class, we had such a good class. I love the instructor. Alicia (DS's gf) has problems with her back and has been currently working as a contract worker with FEMA answering phones and doing data enty. She said after the class her back actually felt better and is going to keep coming with me. She doesn't like the Curves gym she is going to so when the contract is up she is joining the SLim-n-Tone I go to where the class is held.

Well break time is over!!

Marti 03-23-2006 03:16 PM

Quick post since I'm going to work early today and I have tomorrow off......(My anniversary! But it off for Jhanai)

I did want to report that I walked 4 miles yesterday!!

So that's a total of 13miles.
Maybe if I put it on when I get up and just track my whole day?! I'll start that Monday, and go week by week.

Ok....off I go, will do individuals next time!

FrouFrou 03-23-2006 03:22 PM

Hello ladies...

Well, finally got that snow they were talking about. It started late last night (was up late reading) and looked so pretty. Looked like someone turned the lights on outside! Anyway, everything was still covered this morning at 7 but by the time I left the house at 9 most of it was melting. It's just about all gone now. We have a little up against the back of the fence where the shade is. It was purdy while it lasted.

ELLEN...WOW! That dress is B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!!! And I know you will look awesome in it! How horrible that you fell down the stiars and DS couldn't get in the house. :( You best be careful missy. At least your son is back with you. Here's a link to some pix of the house if you or anyone else wants to take a gander. http://share.shutterfly.com/action/w...2AZOHDZs4YsXrg V didn't get any really good pix. When we went over there to take them Josh had called and I wasn't about to get off the phone. So I couldn't tell V what I wanted him to take. He took more and better pix of the other house that we were thinking about and I liked better. Oh well...and it was cloudy that day so the lighting isn't so great. The house is yellow but it looks sort of beige. And he didn't get one from the LR window looking out the back like I would have wanted. He stood not quite in the middle of the back yard. The one bedroom is Josh's and while it looks small it isn't, it's the angle he took it at...he was trying to get the window with the view. The other bedroom not sure what he was aiming for but you can barely see the corner jacuzzi tub in the bath and if you look at the top there is a plant shelf that has lighting-love it. On each side of the tub is a sink and as you walk in the door to the left is the walk-in closet and to the right is a big shower. The toilet is all the way to the back around the corner to the left. Looks small but it's really not. More than enough room for us. Anyway, that's it.

JULES...funny about Dave. I don't have the records but DD is making me some CD's with my favorite oldies. I've got three pages of my favorite songs from the 60's & 70's. She knows where to go online and get them. We do that a lot. I will buy a CD that she likes and she will make a copy of it & vice versa. She just made a copy of my Audioslave CD that she said "Oh, mommy" when I bought it. Hey, I like them as does she now. I get a new CD and listen to it till I am sick of it and then move on to another, lol. Sometimes though we don't want to buy a whole CD just for one song, so she will go to her place and find the song and make CD's.Anyway, love Lighter Shade of Pale...such a nice song. Is is lgihter For some reason I always thought it was Whiter Shade of Pale...ya learn something new every day. :)

ANGIE...there's one wall that you can't can't see from the LR or dining area. But there's nothing to paint. The cabinets go to the top of the plant shelf and then the backsplash is tile from the counter to the cabinet so there's nothing to paint on that wall. This is going to be tricky. But I do love the gold color and we'll figure something out. Maybe just do the wall where the bay window is around to the laundry room door and stop there. Your colors sound nice. And WTG on hitting the big one with all the costumes! That must be fun.

KATY...what a pretty shawl. Make me one, pleeeeaaase! I like the leaf lace one too! But they are all nice. So good you are. I know it will be nice. Yes, what color are you doing?

JANE...the bracelet isn't anything fancy or expensive, just something I liked and thought would be a good reward. Also, would keep my focus where it should be...on losing weight! I too didn't know you guys were all ready to start painting the house. Or soon to be. MAn you must have a big, fast crew working on it. Know you guys are excited about getting it done!

MARTI...you are doing great with your pedometer. :bravo: You will be in tip top shape in no time missy, or actually just in time for your SF trip! Bet you and James are excited about that and actullay having some time alone.

GINNY...did you mention liver and onions? Mmmmmm, delicious! :T I love that stuff but hardly ever fix it because there's just two of us who eat it, me and Jason, DS#1. Hope you DS gets to feeling better. That must be awkward him having a rod in his back, ouch. Sorry to hear about DS#4 being laid off. Bet he will enjoy working with you guys though.

MINDEE...poor little guys. I hope they get to feeling better soon. Hate to see or hear of the little ones being sick. Hopefully soon you guys will get the place you want and Tommy will find the perfect job. :crossed:

SUSAN...we are going to have to make a trip to Trader Joes when I am down there, or rather up there. :D You talk about them so much and I had heard others talk about it-I have to see how good it is! Hey, do you guys have pastrami up there? Like the way they make it in CA? OMG! If you do I am coming home fatter! That is my favorite food but since leaving CA I have not found any place that makes it like that. Hope all is well with you and the girls today.

About the goal/bracelet...I made that goal a while back(it was actually 13 lbs. I had lost-gained some back). But I started out with an original goal of 20 pounds. But the bigger goal has seemed to be harder to make. I thought i would break it down to smaller 10 pound goals and reward myself for the first 10 pound mini-goal and every 10 pound goal after, thinking it would get me there faster. So, we will see what happens. But thank you ladies.

Not much going on today. Had some errands to run and man the people drive more crazy when the roads are bad, jeez! Then had a bunch of photos to scan and get on shutterfly. I found some more for my nephew and had intended to send them to him but couldn't part with this bunch. So was goin gto have some copies made and never got around to it. So....decided to just put them on Shutterfly and send them to him and if he wants copies he can get them. So, just have a load of laundry to do and that's my day...boring as usual.

Question though...anyone know anything about the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program? Or know anyone who has ever done it? I was thinking about doing it after listening to the radio this morning and them needing people. Anyway, seriously considering it. Going to check it out first.

Okay, I've gone on enough...:blah: :blah: :blah:

Take care ladies and have a great day!

jules1216 03-23-2006 04:10 PM

Christina---Nice house!!! How exciting!!! I stand corrected...it is Whiter Shade of Pale.....I just got the new Cyndi Lauper CD which is an acoustic version of some of the old faves a a couple of new ones. I love Time After Time and True Colors..... my son just got a Ghost Buffalo CD which I really like too. He listens to alot of bands not played on the top 40 stations. There is a real cute video he had me watch by Lemon Demon called Geeks in Love.

Marti--way to go on the walking--have fun on your day off!

Dahlia 03-23-2006 04:22 PM

Hi again ladies,

Christina, congrats on your mini goal, keep it up and you will have a box full of jewelry before you know it and be fit and trim to boot.:bravo:

Marti good job on the walking. 13 miles is great. I forgot to tell you this morning when I posted, yesterday I rode 9.1 miles on my bike.:ebike: Between the two of us, we've covered quite a bit of ground so far. Imagine where we could be right now.. we need to find us a destination to work toward.

I don't have much time to be on here right now, have to get supper started as the little ones are coming over with DS#3.:stir: :hun:

I have to start taking notes as I read these posts, I always want to reply to someone or add something but then I get down here and I can't remember.:write:

Jules, you're forgiven this time. It just hit me the wrong way I guess. There is just so much involved with our work that it bothers me when people say things like that, like it's all just fun and games..so ok, we'll start on a clean slate. I do have to try to keep drinking my water... and maybe I should wear my pedometer and see how many miles I can rack up running to the potty..:running:

The boy friend of the DD of the gal who works for us is coming over this evening to clean my computer. So hopefully he knows what he is doing and it will run better. It keeps freezing up on me..and performing illegal actions...and then shutting down.. so if you don't hear from me for a while it's cause I got cleaned out to good....j/k

ok. well catch ya all later. Have a good evening..

Ginny

Jane 03-23-2006 04:24 PM

Hi ladies,

Jules - oic about the trip to Oregon. Just remember that we'd love to meet you, though.

Marti- I add canned, diced tomatoes to soups that I have for lunch. When fresh are in season, I use those. It makes the soup last long and is so healthy, too.

Ellen - aren't you going to the June Oregon meet-up? Hope so. My sister's DD is thinking of buying some land in the country and building a home, with a "Grandmother's Cottage" in back for my sister. That would be cool! Zowee~the dress is gorgeous!! I'm waaaay too fat to carry that off, but I sure wish I could!

Ginny - I don't even know the colors for my DSs wedding yet. Gina said she'd let me know soon. Is the grandson there yet???? Or did you mean in a few days? Hey, I TOLD the snow to stay away from you, tee hee.

Katie - when are you leaving for your mom's? This weekend? She eats pretty healthily, doesn't she? Seems like you mentioned that earlier.

Angie -

Mindee - glad the boys are better today.

Cristina - wow, that house is very nice! Hope you get it. Big sister/brothers is a good program. My nephew is a big brother to a boy in Indy, where he lives. Around here, they ask the younger ones - 20s and 30s - to take a child. Not sure if that's the way it is everywhere. Hope this doesn't offend you, but what about the grandparents program? Isn't there something like that? I think it's wonderful for you to do something with kids with your free time.

I had lunch with my niece Carol today and had the grilled chicken and mandarin oranges at Wendy's. YAY.

Katie is sick again in Florida. She went to the doctor, and I'm waiting for her to call and tell me what he said. Sounds like bronchitis, to me, but what do I know?

Have a good one, ladies!

Jane 03-23-2006 04:27 PM

I'm not sure what time I can make it in here tomorrow, so......

How funny.

Rocky called me this morning and said Happy Birthday, I said it wasn't my birthday and he said it was and I said it wasn't and he said it was.............ugh!!! No,it isn't. It is on Saturday and he said he just knew it was a day ahead or a day behind Kris's.

Anyway, he bought me a birthday microwave to go with my Christmas vacuum. lol.

Good idea on the Big Brother/Sister. I just called for Rach.

Anyway, I better get. I will go check on the Portland motel you all mentioned. It will be my mission for the day and it is close to Panda Express so that is another reason to head that way :)

chow for now!

suetalks 03-23-2006 05:20 PM

Nice house Cristina..No wonder you are excited. It is really roomy. Hope to see Jane's new house soon...and then maybe I can post mine as it is being built. They are laying it out tomorrow and then the building will begin. Yay!

Ran all over today with my best friend. We shopped and did lunch, then after I left her I went to two grocery stores. Feel like I got my exercise. I did buy a beautiful eggplant colored sweater and a pair of summer p.j's. Umm..and a pair of jeans.

Gotta go fix dinner...talk later. :)

Jane 03-23-2006 05:32 PM

Susan - oops, I thought tomorrow IS the 25th, lol. Well, happy birthday early, toots. :D

da fat n da furious 03-23-2006 06:29 PM

Christina, love the house,,,that is so similar to what we almost bought a couple of years ago. And you are right I don't know if you could get any of the gold color on the walls...possibly just accent pieces.

Ellen, that is one gorgeous dress! I could just imagine the pain your DS was in watching you fall,,,

Marti, Happy Anniversary to you and James! I think that you and Ginny should figure out how many miles its between you and there and start walking/riding towards each other...wonder how many days it would take?

Hello to all.....Jules, Ginny, Sue

Went and did some more shopping today and found shoes for the cast,,,was able to find slippers with jewells on them for a whopping $4.60 each.
Bought some boas so I can make that parrot costume.
Tonight Im heading over to my friend Laura's house to film a commercial.

Tomorrow is another busy day, meeting for lunch with my old neighbour, Mel, then having dinner with my friend Joey who is going to give me a refresher on my excel, and powerpoint. Was thinking I want to upgrade my resume, incase. And of course checking Value Villiage for a costume for Tan, need a Prince Ali, and a wedding outfit. This will be the best looking play that school has ever done! Anywho going to go crash for a bit,,,

Ginny~ I skipped my workout yesterday so I wouldn’t cause any more damage. Where abouts in MI are you from? Right now, we live in Harbor Beach, but we are moving back down to the city because that is where the work is.

Jules~ I was sick right along with them. I am getting better now, just like they are.

Cristina~ That house is beautiful!!!! Thanks for crossing your fingers for us! We are going down state tomorrow to check out some apartments.

Happy Anniversary to Marti and James!!!!!

Happy Birthday to Susan!!!!!!!!!!

Hi ladies...

SUSAN...how nice of Rocky, such a sweetie he is. And since I more than likely won't be on the computer tomorrow I am going to go ahead and send BD wishes today! :hat: :gift: :woo: :balloons: :hb: A very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to YOU! :hb: :balloons: :woo: :gift: :hat: Hope your day is a special one! Have some yummy BD cake for me!

ELLEN...hope your son is fine. Post when you feel up to it.

SUE...thanks! Can't wait to see pix of your new home once it is started. That would be so cool to see your house being built.

MINDEE... good luck with the apartment hunting!

ANGIE...at least you and your friend had fun! What kind of commercial did you guys film? Or should I ask, lol?

MARTI...Happy Anniversary to you and James! Do you guys have anything special planned for today? Well, whatever you do have a goo done.

Thanks Jane for the laugh! Not sure if there is an age limit on the program here except that you have to be at least 16 years old and have a license. And a grandmother's program?! LOL Funny, if our son had lived he would be six years old so I don't think of myself as ready to be a grandmother. You didn't offend because you are only as old as you feel and I definitely do not feel old or ready to be a and or called grandma! So no...no grandmother programs for me, not for quite a while. Hope Katie gets to feeling better soon. Don't ya hate her being so far away? I know I feel helpless with Josh being in Hawaii.

GINNY...hope she gets your computer cleaned. We need to do that also, just haven't gotten around to it. Have it cleaned and add some space.

JULES...haven't heard of them. But love Cindy Lauper. I always loved the different colors of her hair...she was always changing it. I think Girls Just wann Have Fun is one of my favs. So, it is Whiter Shade of Pale...I wasn't sure but knew that'w what I had been singing all these years! Of course I tend to make up/change words to some songs anyway. I hear something other than what they are saying and it fits better!

KATY...have a fun, safe trip to your moms!

Hi to everyone else

I was up bright and early this morning, couldn't sleep at all. Josh is killing me! Talked to him Sunday morning and he was having problems with his knee again. Told me it has been hurting for a while and to top it off he fell on some rocks. He went to the doc this past week and last night told me he has a really bad infection in it. Apparently when he fell it didn't help matters and they dug a rock out of it, and drained it. He's going to the doc today and then has to go back Monday to see if it is getting better. If not they are going to have to do surgery so might be going to Hawaii after all. I hate that he is so far from home and I can't get there and help him, or just be there for him! So...the doc told him (and I hope he was just trying to make light of the situation, not sure) if that didn't help then they would have to amputate! WHAT?! For an infection? I know if it were bad enough, maybe but doesn't that seem extreme? it's not gangrene for god's sake. He is supposed to call me sometime today and let me know what the said. Jeez louise...if it's not one thing it's another I swear! Too much stress for me. So depending on what happens, he may not be going to CA next month for the training, etc. :stress: :stress: :stress: Anyway...sorry for going on. I can't get that off my mind because I can't do anything to help and that kills me.

Since I was up early I had breakfast in bed and watched a movie-Houseguest with Kirstie Alley. I love that movie, so funny. Never in a million years would I have that many houseguests stay at one time and for that long! :yikes: Then decided to get up and clean house before getting on the computer. I usually spend about 2-3 hours on this thing depending on what I need to do, look up etc. I love a clean house! And knowing that's done...:D Even went out and picked up poop! Hey, it's a crappy job, but someone has to do it. I could do like the neighbors two doors down...they have someone come and pick up theres. But then they have two HUGE dogs. I wouldn't want to pick that up either! LOL Anyway...starting to ramble. :blah: :blah: Trying to keep my mind off Josh.

Have a GREAT day and weekend ladies!

 Thanks Cristi :) Rocky is the sweetest man. I don't know where he got his patience from but he seems to have a lot.He has to with me - lol

Thanks for the card (and Jane too) very sweet of you guys. I appreciate it.

blah - blah .

I soooooooooooo hate Rachels father. There I said it. He is such a pompous ***..........oops did I say that?? He is such a jerk. Rach hasn't been in school since Tuesday morning, she has broken her promises to me. So, it has taken me all week to find another treatment place that is covered by Kaiser that treats children more like her. The other place was more for court ordered kids and I didn't feel Rach belonged there. Had kids banging their heads against the wall.
In this case it was me....haha.

anyway, so I am excited about this place and her father has her today letting her stay home yet again,,,,,,she can go for 3 hours and show her face and pick up her homework at least. Geez......
My point is we have spring break coming up and if she has to be there for 3 or 4 weeks at least she would be there one week where everyone is out of school and they might not have a bed next week. I just think 8 hours of classes a day would be great for her.

*sigh*

So, I just got off the phone with this Christian counselor and he said he would see me & Rach Monday. He was nice. I had a resident come home today locked out of her unit and I went with her to let her back into her apartment. She said she was just busy this morning running out for her counseling and forgot her key. She said he was a Christian and I kind of perked up.....( I do that when I am not saying pompous ***.....lol - ) so he is sliding scale fee (some pay $100 an hour and some pay nothing) and he said as long as I am working on my issues he wouldn't charge anything.

ugh.......do we not believe in Gaurdian  Angels?? I do.......

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...rose1/brd5.gif HIYA LADIES... Hey was there a party I wasn't invited to , where is everyone, Oh hi Cristina, there you are, gosh I was wondering where everyone was hiding. So Sorry that Josh is having difficulties, I hope they clear the infection up soon and all is well with him. I feel so bad for you , I can only image how you feel , it must be so heartwrenching for you and your family, the worrying , the waiting ,not being close enough to help.I wish I could help you feel better, all I can do is pray for you and your family and listen and of course send:hug:    I saw your house pictures , the house is beautiful , you must be so excited to get in there and start decorating.I think from the pictures I see what you mean about the walls and where to start and finish paint colours , open floorplans make it a little difficult to separate rooms don't they. The house looks very cosy inside , I love the french doors are they sliders or actual doors. Thats what I would love in place of my sliders, maybe someday, when I win the lotto, but for now I will have to keep what I have.I would like them not only for decorative purposes but my kitchen is always cold in the winter, which takes us back to a previous conversation about better windows, someday. The rooms seem spacious and I love the sloped ceilings, my daughter has those in her living room in her condo as well as 9 ft ceilings which I love. Mine are 8ft but I'm only 5' 2" so that gives me a good almost 3' to jump up and down  When is the closing supposed to be on your new house ? I'm excited to , hopefully you get an offer and your house is sold soon. This darn computer of mine is awful, it freezes and stalls, to much aggrivation for me and I am a fairly patient person . My son is going to take it in a see what the problem is and see if it can be remmedied, maybe he can take me to I think I need a tuneup  I have a headache and an earache , I think when I seep on my side its causing some problems, I was in a car accident gosh 20 years ago now , and I had internal damage,in the left side of my face when my head was crushed between the two seat, my seatbelt snapped from the impact and I was in the back seat , it threw me forward between the two seats , which I had to have surgery to repair, but after a few years the doctor said it was beginning to calcify, below my eye and cheekbone and he would need to go back and clean it out, and I said not any time soon and I have put up with it for over 20 years, but now it seems to be getting worse.Always some darn thing.I try to sleep on my back , but sometimes I just can't get comfortable. I was trying to think if I saw that movie or not , I don't think so, sounds funny so I think I will watch for it on the movie station. I like a clean house to , everything else seems to run so much smoother when everything is in its place .I actually enjoy cleaning the house, its gives me a sense of satisfaction, I always have a little potpourri pot brewing up some victorian rose petal ,gardenia, lavender or hyacynth scented liquid , thats one of my passions. I wish I could get it from real flowers but that would get mighty costly everyday. I love when my gorgeous pink peonies bloom and I can bring them in the house, they are so fragrant. Well Mrs. Cristi I suppose I should go take something for this headache its gone on long enough, maybe I will try and pop back later.

HELLO TO EVERYONE ELSE I HOPE YOUR ALL HAVING A MOST WONDERFUL DAY
