feeling really down....
Heh, all. Things are not looking good, except for the journal and crunch challenges. Also notched the alcohol.... But sugar and white flour bombed. I kind of just slid into a binge mode today. Don't know what got into me. Really down and had no inclination to go to the gym, though I had loads of time. I was really sore from yesterday's workout, so maybe that had something to do with it. I haven't done muscle training in months and when I start up again, I tend to hit things hard. Still....I started with the junk food and didn't want to stop. But I DID write it all down...to my disgust. It was bizarre and really makes me think I have to stay away from the sugar even more than the beer. Well, people, I do not feel good and the day is shot. I did my crunches though....sigh.
No sugar challenge Day 2 -- Pause one left No white flour Day 3 -- Pause two left No alcohol Day 2 -- OK two left Journal Day 3 -- OK three left Crunches Day 3 -- OK three left chai -- You're moving along! Keep it up! :spin: |
Erin, nice going! You're off to a great start on your challenges
Red.. uh oh. :) Sorry to hear you fell off the wagon but just jump right back on!!! ====extending hand to pull you up===== But hey you have a lot of challenges and you DO still have your pause days left!!! Keep chugging along!! I finished day 1 of my second challenge of staying on my healthy eating plan. |
Good morning all  Just got done with another killer circuit class - had fun though. It was really cool to find out the woman who I will be doing my personal trainer sessions with used to show horses. She actually gets the kind of shape I need to be in. A lot of people think you don't have to be athletic to ride - the horse does all the work :fr:
Everyone else - Hi. Good morning. Have a great day. Keep up the great work :cp: Red - I completely agree with you on the DREADED CALORIE COUNT :yikes: I hated it. Didn't want to do it:tantrum: But finally, by taking small steps, got to the point where I want to and am ready to do it. And it does help me to better understand what I am putting into my body. Some things, I may say are worth the cals, others - not so much. But yes, there are many ways to find loopholes in our own challenges (I have several substitutes for :censored: thank you very much!). And you have to figure out how to make it work for you. You can do it. I know you can - and will. Talk to you all later  Have a great day. |

Hi all. Not a good morning but I am determined to get up and get things on track again. I am extremely bloated from all the junk I had yesterday. Muscle soreness still with me. I really feel rotten...and don't even have a night on the town to blame... :(
Thanks, jolly and dance for the words of encouragement. The calorie count is horrid and I don't know which is worse, to count or not to count but stick to no-sugar, no processed foods. A big part of the reason I tend to eat junk when I'm counting calories is because the processed foods have it all easily calcuable, right on the labels, whereas homemade stuff doesn't and to look up all the ingredients, add 'em up, divide by whatever, is just too much trouble. My schedule and the long days out of my room make it hard to bring food with me. It's easier to just say, you can have this in any quantity, you can't have this in any quantity. I need simplicity, yet rebel at the boringness of it all. Sigh. I've got to find a way to work with my quirks. What a pain. Also, saying no to all sugar just keeps it clear in my head. Once I start saying, just a little bit, that's it, it never stays at a little and it if does, the little doesn't feel good. Maybe that's it! The little doesn't feel good. The lot doesn't really either, that's why I need a lot. I know it's not what I really want but if I can't give myself what I want, then what to do?!?! Oh, dilemmas, dilemmas.... |
Oh Danzer can join our 3FC drinking club now!!!:hat:
Yes Red, we are in a very similar boat, if not the same......Sometime I feel like you have posted the thoughts right out of my head.... I'd like to try the counting calories thing too, even though I also despise it!!! But I'm going to wait a bit, DH will be on a 2 week road trip and it's easier when he's gone. Until then, it's eat less, exercise more....:^: My challenges will be as follows: 1. Exercise 30 min a day 2. Journal (never good at this either... I'm not going to actually write down what I'm eating, at least not at first. Just if it was a good day or a bad day and what my thoughts on my progress...) 3. I think I'm going to add water...start with 3 pints a day.... 4. 60 sit ups Level 2 for all.. I will complete these challenges! I WILL I WILL WILL!!!! Thanks for the support Jolly! Hope everyone else is doing well!! |

But I don't say "no" and "yes" to specific foods... although I don't eat sweets and junk at all... but I have even been having meatloaf for dinner or half a big porkchop etc... delicious meals but just limit the amount of high calorie/fat stuff and more on the veggies and stuff. Also want to encourage the rest of you to keep up the good work! Today is Day 2 of my second challenge of sticking with my healthful plan. |
Hey all. Not much to report, except day 2 - challenges met. Went out and had a good ride on pony - didn't have to turn him into dog food.
Danzer, have a fun birthday. When is it? As far as the sharing birthday thing - My grandfather had the same birthday, as does my 3rd cousin, a childhood friend, and my boss  Joy - keep up the good work. Red and Apple - you can do it. Baby steps, and be kind to yourselves. Love yourselves enough to live healthy lives - not beat yourselves into submission. And one last note on the calorie counting thing - I found a good food scale with a measuring cup has helped immensely. just toss it all in and you can either measure by cups or ounces. Anyhow. Hope everyone has a good night. And hope to hear from Fish, Sushi, Tia, Cbeta, Elyn, and everyone else soon! |
Water: 2/21 (PAUSE DAY)
FitDay: 2/21 (no pause days taken) Posting: 3/21 (no pause days taken) Didn't make it through that last bottle of water today. I decided to take a pause rather than to be up all night peeing my brains out! :) Thanks everyone for the support!!! Keep on Truckin! Erin :carrot: |

You'll be surprised how much calories you are actually eating when you start counting. Quote:
1.No red meat ~ day 4 2.Keep my diet software up to date: food log, activity log, weight log etc. ~ day 4 3.Calorie challenge according to my diet software's calculation ~ day 4 4. Exercise daily with 1 rest day weekly ~ day 3. Had sore muscles yesterday, so I decided to take my weekly rest day. I have exercised early today to make sure it’s over and done with. I'm on day 16 of my no diet soda challenge~ no pause days taken YET. This is a start over challenge, but this time around-it’s a breeze. No more cravings, but I guess not keeping a soda in the house was the key to success. Keeping sodas for “guests” is baloney! It’s TOM for me and I have the blues, anyway I found this quote and I think I should share it. "There is one thing over which each person has absolute, inherent control, and that is his mental attitude." ~ Clement Stone To everyone else, good luck on all your challenges; I know we can all make it. Have a great day everyone. |
burnin' rubber!
Hi, everyone. Though the day started out bad, I turned it into a good one! Boy, wish I could bottle up this feeling and splash it on at will. Yeah, there were down times, but I just kept pushing and I really don't know WHERE I found the energy, but I just kept going! Was it all the junk I ate yesterday that packed my muscles with glycogen. I hope not, because if that's the case, then I'll be looking for that sugar high always. Or was it that I think I rode well this morning? Even that was unusual, because I was so sore I took an aspirin beforehand, but then I rode really strong and with my horse it's necessary. Then home and to a lesson to teach, then to the gym and did weights and jogged a bit. There was tons (about 3 hours of walking) too. I really don't know where I got the energy but I was feeling stoked! :flame: So, another day notched on ALL challenges.
Now, I know I'm not going to make it to 21 on a couple of these...well, possibly only alcohol that I can't...because of my drinking friend coming here next week...but still, I'm just going to keep at them all, not restart. girlie -- Whaddya mean, I can't have "any quantity?!?!?" You mean I can't have the entire watermelon or a vat of oatmeal? You mean I can't eat five buckets of popcorn or a couple pounds of peanuts?!?! :yikes: No sugar...no white flour.....oh no, I don't like the sound of what you said there...something about "portion control?" What is that anyhow? Portion??...as in part??..as in partially in control??? That sounds like me! Oh yeah!! Danzer -- Heh! I'm watching you with those early pause days....hmmm....you have two left but you also have 19 days left! :lol3: Hang in there! chai -- Come on, you too! I want you chugging when the sun comes up! jolly -- Thanks. You're a sweetheart. You are very right about the being kind part and not beating ourselves into submission. Actually, my bark is pretty bad, but the bite...nah. Glad the pony'll be with us a bit longer. And riding doesn't take any muscles or anything really. You just sit up there and away you go, like a magic carpet or something! Yeah....right.... dance -- Glad you know where I'm coming from on the calorie counting phobia. But, you see, you don't eat sweets and junk and those are my biggest downfalls. Then I cut them out and I'm looking for something to shove in my mouth....anyone seen any adult pacifiers on the market? I want one! Congrats on moving along on your new challenge! :bravo: Apple -- Heh, can you row the boat for a while? I'm going to get me something out of the fridge....:lol3: No, really, I think at least a calorie estimate may be the way to go. I figured out that I was close to 3,000 with yesterday's binge! Eating like King Kong! Yup, you CAN do it. Your challenges I mean, not eating like King Kong, though I bet you can do that too, I mean, if we are in the same boat and all..... ;) You see, even I got back on track. Ok, just for a day maybe but I'm gonna try. One day is better than no days! Go for it! Heh, and stop trying to corrupt Danzer! :nono:  Allright, today's a wrap. Where are some of our old regulars? :listen: Come in and give us the lowdown! And, oh, heh, the Stones are in town! :dancer: |
