Absolutely gorgeous . . . I was just thinking this morning that I should get some basic patterns and make jackets for my granddaughters . . . the oldest one loves purple. Did you start with a pattern?

Hi can I join in I love to quilt my grandmother showed me how to do it and I am the only one of all the grans that do it...I have made a quilt for every child on my husbands side of the family and I really need to do my side...I gave them as b-day presents. I had 6 in the mouth of Feb. I have not done it in awile.
I need to get back to doing it. I dont know if I have the time...I wanted to make one useing my dads ties..I already the ties cut up. I want to make a bowtie quilt...

Thanks meowee! It's based on a sweatshirt. There are some directions here:
http://www.minifarm.com/dianes_quilt...irt_jacket.htm I sort of followed that and sort of made up as I went along :) You definitely need the sweatshirt to be at least one size larger...2 sizes would probably be better. they are pretty warm without any batting..so unless you live way up north, I wouldn't add any.

Lady Unicorn - you are more then welcome to join in! I love bowtie quilts, I have one my great grandmother made. I wish I had saved my dad's ties :( He had some really funky ones fromthe seventies.

Lady Unicorn...:welcome: So happy to have you join us! I made a Dimensional Bowtie quilt two year ago for my new granddaughter. If you don't know what that is, the center of the bowtie pouffs out.

Ejm...OH there are days I wish I had a yard the size of a postage stamp. It takes us about two days to mow 7 acres. My husband mowes with the belly mower, and I go around the outbuildings, trees with the gas push mower.
Your jacket is beautiful.

Linda...I make jackets with matching hats for my granddaughters for Christmas this past year. It was a Daisy Kingdom fabric/design. I believe the pattern was McCalls.

Well I had a gain this week. I've been so good, but AF decided to pay me a visit after being gone for 9 months.  I feel so bloated, sick to my stomach and just plain miserable. Hope I feel better by tomorrow.:D

Thanks for the input ejm and Cheryl. I don't know which kind I want to make, yet, but I saved the link you posted and will look at patterns later this week. And a great big WELCOME for you LadyUnicorn.

Yesterday finished off a lot better than it started and my plan for the week is still looking OK. Tomorrow morning we'll see what the scale thought about my week, of course. :^:

Have a good day, gang. Keep moving and shaking and piecing it all together. :carrot:

Okay . . . I'm a brazen hussy . . . but I decided to take the "cow by the horns" and open a new thread called CRAFTERS INCORPORATED .

Not exactly a new idea . . . I know you suggested it in both places, ejm . . . but your gentle suggestions didn't seem to be quite enough. Soooo here we go . . .

I hope to see you all over there . . . Hope I haven't been too pushy. :^:
