Hi ladies,

Cristi - oh my gosh! That's great news about Josh getting a leave. Now if it can be for 30 days.... and if he'll leave Hawaii, lol.

Kathy - YAY for the 5 pounds down! :cp: And at TOM!! You go girl! Why does (I forget the name) need a birth certificate? For a passport? Btw, we're taking one of the twins to WDW with us. Bought tickets for both of them, but Madi wants to stay home with her mama. The good news is, I get to apply some of the cost of it to my next ticket. Portland??

Mindee - if you sprinkle a few Cheerios in the toilet, and let your little guy "blast" them, he may potty train quicker.

Angie - so glad to see your posts! And glad you're getting plenty of rest. I know all about tape on the wrong body sections, lol. OUCH!!

Nancy - let us know about the biopsy, ok?

Poley - so sorry about all your troubles, friend. Come here when you need to talk, ok?

Julie - so good to see you! Glad to know you like the books. I'll have to check out Susan Graves since I'm always looking for a new author.

Connie - so where did you go with your buddy? Wherever it was, I'm glad you had a good time.

Marti - sorry you missed out on a weekend with Jhanai. How was the visit with your brother and nephew? Your sister will be there before long, right?

Well, one good thing about Madison cancelling out on the Florida trip - I can apply the amount, less a fee, to my next ticket purchase. :cp:

Today was hectic! Neal did great at church, playing his guitar. He was nervous but it didn't show. This afternoon we went to a Mozart Requium concert and it was breathtaking! Then we had company for awhile this evening. I'm about ready for bed.... it's almost midnight here.

See you tomorrow, chickas!

tommysgirl18 02-27-2006 02:10 AM

Jane~ We have him sitting on the big toilet right now. We haven't had a chance to get him a potty seat yet. We will try the cheerios trick once he gets his own potty chair.

Poley 02-27-2006 06:17 AM

Hi Ladies

First I want to thank everyone for welcoming me here :)

This morning the phone rang off the hook, but settled after lunch. Everything is organised with the funeral. It is Thursday at 9. Due to the heat out here, they want it early.

Nancy~ He wasn't father like son close, but close if that makes sense.

Mindee~ Sounds like Brandon is doing a great job :)
We have started our youngest potty training. Madisyn was 2, on the 12th Feb. She is doing quite well. She is so tiny tho'

Courtney, our oldest made the Touch football team :D First game is Wednesday night.

I hope to get to know you all by name soon.... It is great reading about you all and how your days have been. I really look forward to coming here :)

Have a good one all.

RosieKate 02-27-2006 09:07 AM

She got the Gold!

( insert theme from "Rocky" here) I finished the sweater! Ok it was a stange challenge; to knit a project during the span of the Olympics, but it was quite a sense of accomplishment, I tell you. A friend of mine is going to take a picture of me sometime this week, so I'll post it when that happens.

It was nice to have something to do as we have been having a challenging week. My son is going to have to have 4 teeth pulled which has him completely freaked out. So we have been trying to keep him calm.

We may be looking for a new preschool for my daughter, which has me a bit upset, but I am dealing with it...the knitting helped keep me calm I must say. The school is a co-op that has decided to expand. Part of the expansion process has been to approve the lead teacher's request to be paid more money to pursue grant money and work on program planning. The other part that was approved was to release her from 50% of her classroom duties. My DD only has one more year of preschool and I don't want o spend it planning a private school for someone else's children, and I 'm also not thrilled that her teacher will be out of the classroom for two days a week. So we are looking at other options, one of which may be just to stay and slug it out for one more year even though it is not an ideal situation. I REALLY didn't want to be shopping for preschools right now, but I feel I have to see what other options we have.

So ,this is the week I'm muddling through and we get to Sunday. I walk into church yesterday to the shock of the news that our beloved church secretary was killed in a freak auto accident while she was coming home after babysitting her grandchild. Our church is in shock; and needless to say all my piddly little dramas of the week mean absolutely nothing in the face of such a loss.

I will BBL, ladies.. hope you are all having a good day!

FrouFrou 02-27-2006 01:27 PM

Hello ladies and Happy Monday...

Geez, I cannot believe this weather...supposed to be 72 today, 78 tomorrow and Wednesday and no rain in sight! We NEED rain! I am spending the day soaking the yard really good and then may water it a little Wednesday. Supposed to go back down in the 50's Thursday so...It is too early to be watering the lawn but with not having much rain or snow this year and the temps being what they are and have been, it needs water. Anyway...

KATHY...:bravo: to your loss! And THANKS! We ar hoping for a quick sale. :crossed: Haven't heard back about our offer so maybe they are actually considering it, lol. We know we went kind of low but, gotta start somewhere and see how anxious they are to sale it. The realtor they the builder was very motivated. The house has been on the market for about 104 days I think. Not sure why it hasn't sold, it's a nice home and is a model home so...keeping our fingers crossed :crossed:

MARTI...hope you had a nice visit with your brother and nephew. Sorry, Jhanai didn't get to spend the weekend with you.

ANGIE...glad to see you are home and feeling okay. You still need to take it easy though and don't start doing things too soon whether you feel better or not. I always tend to do that. Get so bored sitting, I had to get up and do something. I wasn't supposed to be doing too soon after my gallbladder surgery but after spending a week in the hopsital I had to get out of the house once I got home. Well, after walking around the grocery store for an hour I was ready to go home and lay around. Know about the tape too...just not down there! No, no card. Can't remember the last time I received a card from you, last year sometime I think, it's been a while. I always make a point of thanking everyone who sends a card as soon as I receive it.

JULES...well, at least you were reading some good ones! (((((HUGS))))) to you and yours.  So sorry to hear about DH's step-father. My grandmother passed away from pancreatic cancer so I know how hard that can be. I was a little kid but watching her die is something that is always with me. The comfort in it all was when we went to the viewing. I remember how angelic she looked, and how peaceful, I knew she was alright then.

ANNETTE...of course we don't mind you sharing your day with us. Good or bad, we are here for you. Sorry to hear about your brother and Bill's step-father. (((((HUGS))))) to you and yours also.

CONNIE...glad you had some 'me' time and had a fun get-away with your friend.

KATY...so sorry to hear about the church secretary.(((((HUGS))))) to you also. I think something like that always puts things into perspective. Makes you really thing about things. Hopefully, you guys can find another preschool for little Leigh. And I hope James calms down about the dentist. Carrie had to have 4 teeth pulled once. She had a tooth coming in before one wanted to come out so I took her to the dentist to have it pulled out and for him to look at it. He thought the other three would do the same so just went ahead and pulled her front four teeth out. I have to say, I was more nervous that she was. She didn't even want me to go back with her! I did though, of course.

MINDEE...good for Brandon! :bravo: I too think that him getting on/wanting to sit on the toilet IS a start. When my boys were little the toilet scared them! They thought they would fall in. So I bought the toilet seat for kids that goes on the toilet seat. Made it much better for them. But then DD didn't want that on. Kids are so funny sometimes.

JANE...getting close to trip day! :carrot:

Hi to everyone else. Hope I didn't miss anyone.

Not much going on today. Like I said above, just trying to get the yard soaked really good. Never thought I would pray for rain, but I am! Last year we had enough rain and snow that I really didn't start watering the yard till almost May. This year, nothing. It snowed a few times but not enough to amount to anything. I rained one or two days, again , not enough to amount to anything. As soon as I get off here I am going to vacuum and straighten up a couple of things. Was trying to wait until I finished watering before I vacuum because I am bringing grass in. Trying not to, but it's not working. That's about all I have for now.

Take care ladies and I hope you all can try and have a good day. With all that's going on with some of you, I know it will be hard. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. :grouphug:

tommysgirl18 02-27-2006 01:41 PM

Annette~ Every time we put him on the potty, he wants to put his feet in the toilet water.

Katy~ That is great!!! I can’t wait to see a picture of it!

Cristi~ The toilet never really scared him. Since we moved into our townhouse, he is constantly following Tommy into the bathroom to watch daddy do “good boy.” So I think him watching Tommy is helping with getting him used to the potty. He will even flush the toilet and close the lid for him when he is done.

Mom2Gaby 02-27-2006 03:04 PM

hmmm, so you managed to make it to the computer Ang ??:comp: I am glad! How was the surgery? I was going to send you pictures of Gaby but had to take it out of the Christmas card and put it in the Get Well card. *sigh * I am always behind! You need to chim in about the Portland trip? Dying to know if that is a go for you or what other thoughts you have :)

I was going to look in the Dove pre school Katy . I think they have an open house tomorrow.

Thinking of moving to a 3 bedroom, thinking of just staying in a 2. It really is crowded with 3 girls.

Drama with Rachel at the moment and is taking all my time. Meet with the principal tomorrow and see what her alternatives are.

1 more day on the other location. It will be so nice to just stay in one office. Course co worker goes on a week vacation next Monday , so I get to be in charge - yay.

best get

soooooooooooooooooooooo tired but Bachelor is on tonight!!!!! Go Sarah!

Marti 02-27-2006 05:23 PM

Hello Ladies!!

Sad to say, but my nephew didn't get into town until late last night so I didn't get to see them. Which is ok, I was busy w/the house work trying to make it sparkle! (yeah right.....does my house ever sparkle?):dizzy:

Angie--I'm so glad to see you posting! And don't you worry about watching too much tv. that means you're taking it easy and resting like a good girl!! We'd all have to come to Canada and give you a stearn talking to if you weren't! I need to you to PM me your address again.....everytime I send you something it comes back to me w/an incomplete address note. (what the heck am I forgetting??)

Jane--When is your trip to Florida?? Please get lots of photos of you and Katie.....then send me a copy. I would love to do a scrapbook page for you and then I'll send it back. Seems that I'm really enjoying doing that for my friends! My idea's go crazy when it's someone elses family I'm doing and not my own! Strange isn't it?

Mindee--Jhanai wasn't completely potty trained until she was 2 1/2. I had a friend whose daughter was 6mos younger and Jhanai would always tell her to use the potty...it was so funny because she didn't do so well herself. So here she was, helping this other little girl learn to potty! But eventually they all learn. Just takes patience.

Annette-- So sorry to hear about your loss! You can always come here to talk about anything, as Cristi has mentioned. We're here for ya! And don't worry about the names yet...you'll get us all down sooner or later!

Katy--The challenge sounds like fun! I wish I knew how to knit! Someday I promised myself to learn. That is one of the things in my "things to try out in life" list.

Cristi--I think you praying for rain worked!! But for Oregon! It's raining here right now and I had to literally drag my dogs out to do their duty! I am looking forward to a warm day! (hope it comes soon)

Susan--Hope the drama w/Rachael settles down soon. How old is she?? It's gotta be hard having two teens and then a wee one at home. And to have them all girls!! I can't imagine what it'll be like when Jhanai hits that stage!

Hello to all the other gals!! I'm sorry I missed your post. I need to check the other post to see what was said. I will get back to the ones I missed at another time.

Well I need to get myself cleaned up. Need to buy another curling iron. The one I had, I've had for so many years! It finally said it's goodbyes. So off I go to get another one.

Hugs to everyone!

tommysgirl18 02-27-2006 05:42 PM

susan~ good to hear from you!

marti~ I am hoping that he will encourage Logan when he gets bigger.

jules1216 02-27-2006 08:55 PM

Just wanted to correct my mistake the author's name is Sarah Graves not Susan.

DD's divorce papers are filed today..now just have to wait for the hearing. It's uncontested even though she could have made it worse for him. They are actually talking, but she says she could never be more than friends with him.

Mindee--we potty trained DD in the summer letting her run around in the training pants only--she didn't like to be wet or messy so she figured it out pretty quick. DS actually took a little longer since he went to his paternal grandparents at least one weekend a month and down to my mom's where he and I lived for a year before moving in with my DH. It was a battle with the ex's parents with potty training and the bottle since every weekend he went with them he came back with a diaper on and a bottle in his mouth. I didn't think that we'd ever get rid of either.

Angie--one of the guys I work with just came back to work a few weeks ago after carpal tunnel surgery on his left hand. Says it's still pretty tender. Hope you get better real soon!

Jane--sounds like a good concert--does Neal play the guitar and serenade you with love songs!!

Poley--Welcome!

Katy--what a week, hugs to you!

Cristi--send some of that warm weather my way--it's been cold and windy here.

Susan--I visited the principals office many times with DS who all the teachers wanted to put on Ritalin--most of the complaints were that he just couldn't sit still and was too distracting--DH finally went with me to yet another meeting with the principal and lost his temper and slammed his fist on the desk--strangely enough we never had any more problems????

Marti --I know curling irons are cheap but don't you hate having to go get a new one....

Hi to everyone else!!

eloisecat 02-27-2006 10:26 PM

Katy: I knitted a poncho for a friend's daughter during the Olympics and started on a sweater. I was sleep-deprived, but had fun with the knitting. Plus the knitting keeps me from eating in front of the TV. I wonder how many people finished hand crafted items during the last 2 weeks?

So, here's the update on my poor kitty. He has a lymphosarcoma in his gastrointestinal tract...yep, cancer. Apparently what we've been treating as irritable bowel disease was, in fact, cancer. According to the vet, though, this is a very treatable cancer in cats. The treatment, though, concerns me - we'd have to give him 2 medications indefinitely, and there could be side effects (just like in humans). The poor thing is already almost 17. But he's my husband's cat, so we're going to have to talk about how to proceed. For the meantime, he's feeling a lot better, and recovering well from his surgery. So, we'll see. Thanks for all your good thoughts.:flow2:

da fat n da furious 02-28-2006 11:44 AM

Nancy, poor cat,,you and DH will do what is best for the cat.

Susan, oh joy of motherhood eh? I did a couple of trips to the school...you will look back on this one day and laugh,

Marti,,,darn if you were coming up here I could give you a couple of irons,,,what size do you need? how about rollers? Will PM you

Cristi, will send you your card,,,this time not to the BIL,,,

Todays big challenge is,,,keep crocheting the blanket. Catch the Fed Ex person,,ran the bell and ran yesterday,,,I was laying down...so left a note saying please wait I am slow...on the door.
Not happy with Tanners drama teacher right now. With Aladdin coming up in May, I had asked a fantastic artist from all the plays we work on if she could paint the set,,,without pay.
The teacher was all excited ,,yay wow...blah blah
the last month I have been watching emails going to the teacher from this artist,,,not response. She had wanted to meet and get a definite idea of everything..her time is short,,,she has a few plays to paint. Got an email from the artist saying she has bailed out...without any answers she has to continue on with her other things... I had trouble with that teacher too in getting a response,,,2 emails,,2 calls and one note left in her mail box,,still nothing ,,,had to meet before school one morning...duh all I needed to know was how to pay for the supplies? She told me to go look for it,,,put it on hold then she would go pick them up once I emailed her the addresses...hmmm why not let me pay for them so we aren't both going,,,grrr Tanner is fustrated dosn't feel like they know what they are doing. Yes its a school play,,,but does it have to be a mediocre school play?
then I got an email from reception (work) that one of the warehouses didn't recieve a service award ...2 in fact.... that annoyed me. Because the first one arrived there,,,cause they called to say why the other one didn't... I mailed that one out that day with a whole pack of other forms...that they recieved...makes me mad when the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing,,,instead of making me all stressed why not walk down the dang hall and ask if they recived the package?
I didn't sleep well last night worried about this,,I knew about this yesterday,,,and it just bothers me when I can see the whole picture but others can't...grrrr
Brandon has to see the specialist for his feet on the 13th...wish it was sooner,,,hes in so much pain,,,was thinking of offering him my pain relivers (I won't be using them) but they are super strong. hate for a reaction to happen. think I will try to take him to our family Dr. and ask for somethig for him.

have I vented enough?
hoping to have some of this worked out by tomorrow.

FrouFrou 02-28-2006 12:50 PM

Hi ladies...

JULES...you made me think of DH#1...he played the guitar (and harmonica) and sang pretty good and DID serenade me! We would gather in our bedroom sometimes and he would play the guitar, one of the boys had a drum, the other had a guitar and DD would dance. I actually have a picture of this, it was great! The kids couldn't really play, but they sure thought they could. Hoping your DD's divorce goes smoothly. Bet it was a sad day for her, hugs to her. And I can't believe this weather, not even spring and we are supposed to be close to 80 today!

ANGIE...sorry you are having to deal with all that crap, when you should be relaxing and taking it easy-not something you need to deal with right now. Hope brandon can get in to see the doc and get something for the pain. I thought the surgery took care, or was supposed to take care of his foot problems, poor guy.

SUSAN...sorry to hear about the drama with Rachel. Glad to see ya posting though. good or bad news, it's always good to see ya here. :)

MARTI...funny...my curling iron went out too! I plugged it in this morning and usually let it get really hot. After 30 minutes the thing was still cold! Gonna have to get a new one too. Hope they still have the ones like that. Sorry you didn't get to visit with your nephew.

JANE...yeah, when it the actual day you leave for DW? Was thinking the 3'rd...:dunno: Can't remember though. Whenever it is...have a GREAT time! Which I know you will, especially seeing Katie.

NANCY...sorry to hear about your kitty. I know you and DH will make the right decision for your baby.

Hi to everyone else

Another boring day for me. Going to straighten the house up later, once I get off here. Keeping it clean everyday just in case someone calls and wants to see it. They are supposed to make an appointment and we hope 24 hour notice. I don't plan on being here when they come and look at the house, will take the dog and go to the park for an hour or so. But I want it to be clean. Still haven't heard anything about the offer. Not sure if that is a good sign or not. They either haven't gotten in touch with the builder or he is just too busy, not really sure. But when we went through this the last time, I hated that when we put in an offer it seemed like the people took their time. But when it came to them...like the last house before buying this one...they demanded an answer right after we were told of their counter offer. I just hope this isn't the case. Also, thought there was a time frame in which they had to respond, not sure though. Anyway...

Have a great day ladies!

eloisecat 02-28-2006 08:51 PM

Well, our kitty will start chemotherapy as soon as he's fully healed from his surgery. We don't really feel like we have other options - we don't want to not treat and watch him waste away, and we certainly don't feel ready to put him to sleep. So, we'll start the treatment, and see how it goes. The vet said that the treatment puts cats into remission often, plus they will have more energy and gain weight. That would be good, because Floydie is sooooooo thin. It should be interesting...I was thinking about replacing my carpet, but I think I'm gonna wait a while, since vomiting is a side effect of the meds...

Jane 02-28-2006 11:26 PM

Just a quick pop in to say "see ya later". We don't actually leave until Thursday, but tomorrow will be so hectic that I don't want to count on being here.

Have a good week/weekend, and I'll chat with you when I get back.

da fat n da furious 03-01-2006 01:49 AM

Jane have a great trip,,,hugs to Katie...
And a big thank you for the card...so sweet.

And to you too Cristi,,,your cards and added touch of your note made my day.

da fat n da furious 03-01-2006 01:18 PM

geesh its 11 am and I have been up for a whole half hour.

I have the strangest dreams...so weird that it wakes me and I lay there till I fall back to sleep...must be all the chemicals in my system.
Have been emailing with my SIL, she had gone through this about 10 years ago and has been to h*ll and back,,,9 sugeries in 3 years and they still haven't been able to fix the problem...she is now in cronic pain. She told me alot of things to do and not do. I asked her when I could start driving..not that I want to,,,the weather here has been anything but nice,,,kinda glad Im laid up and not dealing with the ice and cold.
My big plans for today is shower...which I have been,,,its just I know make it something important in my day...lol and Im working on a picture frame collage. I had the old gross huge collage family picture frame with the plastic gold trim,,,went and bought new ones from Costco,,,really funky. So want to get new pics and fingers crossed, hoping that the couple of pics I have there aren't stuck to the glass....yikes.
what are your plans for today? I am living through you all now...lol

FrouFrou 03-01-2006 01:50 PM

Hello girly girls ;)

Man, what a morning! Forgot today is the first day of the month and Wal-Mart was crazy to say the least! And I went early! To top it off...they are paving the parking lot, again...so half of it was fenced off. The first of the month is really not a good time to blocking off 1/2, (it was actually about 3/4) of the parking lot. What were they thinking? Anyway, I survived. Another very warm day here again. I'm not complaining, but it's just weird to be having 80 degree weather when it is supposed to be cold. Of course it is supposed to drop down in the 50's tomorrow. Anywho...

Hope everyone is fine.

JANE...have a safe, fun trip to DW! See ya when ya get back.

ANGIE...you are welcome for the card. I can never remember how long a letter/card takes to get to Canada and meant to send it sooner but set it on the table and almost forgot about it. How are you feeling today?

NANCY...poor kitty. I too would wait to have the carpets replaced. Hopefully all goes well with the chemo and he goes into remission.

Hi to everyone else

Not much on the agenda for today. Ran a few errands this morning, bought groceries, got gas (for my vehicle), blah, blah, blah... Going to go and wash Josh's truck a little later, or possible wash it myself. That thing is just sitting in the driveway collecting dirt! Would rather just pay to drive it through, so much easier. Just going to take it easy the rest of the day and get some laundry done...open the doors and some windows. It is really nice outside, I hate to stay inside. Anyway...

Take care ladies and have a wonderful day! HAPPY 1st DAY of MARCH! :flow1: :sunny:

Marti 03-01-2006 03:29 PM

Hi gals!

Jane--Have a wonderful trip!! Don't get too stressed out trying to get everything in order before you leave. You need to arrive calm and relaxed. (yeah right....to darn excited to see Katie right!)

Jules--Glad to hear that your DD is able to not have a nasty divorce. I was lucky w/my ex. We talk. In fact, we get along better now than we ever did togther. Now....a friend of mine....she was a whole different story. Feel for her.

Angie--You poor girl, if you're living through us...well through me, you're bored out of your mind!!:dizzy: My sister will be here tomorrow and I've got to clean up. At least make it look like I spent time cleaning anyway!:D Did Brandon not get the second surgery on his foot?? Or is this another foot problem?? Poor guy! Hugs to you and all your family!!

Nancy--How old did you say your cat was? Poor thing. Hope the chemo helps and that he's all better once it's all done.

Cristi--Did you find a house? You mentioned something about a builder. Does this mean you're having one built? I'm so out of the loop. Never know whats going on. I need to get my act together and keep up w/you all! We have a small Walmart....not a super one...here in town. I have never paid attention if it was busier any time of the month.

Not much going on around here except pick up the place and make myself some breakfast. Feeling tired. I stayed up too late to watch Amazing Race when I got home. A two hour show. Why couldn't I have just watched it today after I had gotten up???

Ok, I'm hungry so off I go!

Katiecat 03-02-2006 10:00 AM

Good morning, ladies :coffee:

Katy, that sweater is beautiful! Love the lacy kind of look, and fantastic cranberry color, too... I can't believe you finished the whole thing just during the Olympics :cp:

Angie, glad to hear you are feeling as good as you are, but keep resting. General anesthaesia does weird things to you for a while -- my whole first week after surgery I laid on the couch watching TV, drifting in and out of sleep. Your body needs a while to recuperate just from being put under, let alone recuperating from the surgery.

Jane, hope you have a great time at WDW! And I know you will be so happy to visit w/Katie :goodvibes We have our plans set for DL for Spring Break, but Tim is talking about going to WDW next. I've never been, and he hasn't been since he was a kid.

Nancy, sorry to hear about your kitty. Hoping the treatment will be successful...always hard when a beloved pet gets so sick.

Cristi, just read that they are closing down the oldest shopping mall in our city, tearing it all down, and putting in an open air mall with a Walmart that includes a grocery store -- a first for our area, I think.

Marti, housework seems to be never ending, doesn't it? I think I have every dish in the house washed, then look in the sink and there is always one cup and one spoon left. Or I think I have ALL of the laundry done, and sure enough, there is one sock and a T-shirt left in the hamper. What's that old saying? "A man may work from sun to sun, but a woman's work is never done."

Hi to everyone else...Argh...still hurts to type for very long...have to type a few sentences at a time and rest. Thumb is still numb and not working right, and several places in my arm still hurt really bad. Supposed to go back to work on 3/23, but see the doctor again next week and she'll decide then, or if I need physical therapy, or if she will only send me back half time for a while, or...? And work is pressuring me about how long I'll be off. Jeez, I worked up until the day before surgery, and scheduled to come back 6 weeks after, what more do they want? I can't go back until I can do the stupid job. A girl I work with who has the same problem as me, except it wasn't operable, went through **** with management. Wasn't until she got a lawyer that they backed off and different position that didn't require typing magically opened up for her. :wizard:

Have to go to the dentist today, ugh. Have an old filling that has been replaced twice, and now has a cavity under it again, and probably there's more filling there than tooth, so I think he will do a crown. *Hopefully* he won't decide it needs a root canal. :headache: :fr: :faint: God, I hate going to the dentist, and I am such a chicken. Please hold good thoughts for me ladies...

Alright, better hit the shower before I have to cross town in morining rush hour to go to my dental doom...is it too early for a margarita? Or three?

Mom2Gaby 03-02-2006 12:21 PM

Good Morning -

Nice sweater Katy! Hi Kathy

Gaby had a dentist appt today Kaite - but going to have to cancel because she is totally out of her mind tired. She started crying when I took my shower before her bath this morning. She sat in the tub crying and crying. Lord, help me!

I need to get files together for my 6 month review - supervisor wants to see 20 reviews that I have done. Yada yada. I need to grab 4 more and make sure there is nothing wrong before I hand them over and I have to fill out a self evaluation but I might beg off til Monday on that so I can have time to reflect and ponder why I am a site manager - lol whatEVER.

I have a successful donut/coffee social going twice a month. I had one yesterday and brought Gaby with me. Maybe that is why she is so tired because I woke her up at 5:30 and said "rise and shine" she just replies - turn off the light, I am tired.
haha

anyway, drama with Rach continues - basically has been not coming home twice over the last month on the weekend and had the police track her down. She skipped school last Friday and I had her picked up Saturday-she resisted and they had to handcuff her for transport- she has been in a youth runaway program since. HOPE she will come home tomorrow. She has Kaiser now and have a Sat appt for counseling and signed her up for Lacrosse. She really needs to take this all seriously because she is one step away from being to sent to an alternative school, whcih might be what she needs, who knows.

extremely tiring.

Go with Mikes ex tomorrow for a court thing. He hasn't seen that daughter since June and he is wanting visitation with her. Honestly , I think he should. Lets see if he makes arrangements to see Gaby at his fathers home???

yada, yada.....better get to files!

Hello ladies...

MARTI...no, we are not having a house built. I'm not sure what I said about a builder (too lazy to go back and look, lol) but the houses we've looked at the builders own the houses. Anyway, we have found a house and the builder didn't accept our offer, which we didn't think he would. But it was a starting point to get a feel of where to go next. He countered and we accepted. So the house is ours but not, lol. It's ours as long as someone doesn't come in with a better offer, or we don't sell ours. Within the next few weeks we are going to push our house to get it sold fast. A pain in the booty to say the least. Hope you have a GREAT time with your sis when she gets there!

SUSAN...hopefully, Rachel straightens up soon. I know that's the last thing you need is drama from her. Especially, after all the drama with Mike! But who knows, maybe like you said the alternative school is what she needs.

KATY...love the sweater! You did a GREAT job and I love the color! Also, you are looking good yourself missy! You look different from the last photo I saw of you, in a good way of course-a lot slimmer.

MARYKATE...sure hope your arm gets to feeling better soon. And what is up with work? Jeez, you haven't even been home very long and already they want you back?! Sending good vibes for your trip to the dentist. :goodvibes:  I too am afraid of the dentist and really need to get there soon. Just can't bear the thought of going.

Hi KATHY and NANCY, and of course ANGIE, SUE, JULES and everyone else.

Had some errands to run this morning and now just going to spend some time on the computer. Need to catch up on my e-mails, have gotten lazy with that. Too busy looking up other stuff. Need to dust and vacuum also and fold laundry. Did it yesterday and have a load in the basket in my room and a load I left in the dryer. Don't know why I am feeling so lazy and tired the last few days. Anyway...

Take care ladies and have a good day!

da fat n da furious 03-02-2006 01:17 PM

Susan, ya that is alot of drama for one person to have to deal with...hope things settle down, and Rach realizes how crazy her actions are going to cause on her future. Give Miss Gaby a hug,,poor lil sleepy baby.

Katie, I found that Im doing great.... found thou that I have the nastiest dreams. I used to have one dream a week possibly but now nightmare after nightmare. I hope your work doesn't give you a hard time any more. I know the way Im feeling and probably will feel even better in a couple of weeks that I could go back,,,but just don't want to. Going to take the full 6 weeks off. Have alot of small plans for around the house.

I was woken by a flower shop saying they have a del for me. Not sure who would be sending me more flowers...Ive had afew already.
Brandon's foot appointment is for the one foot he didnt' have surgery on. He and his Dr. decided back in June that he was going fantstic and wouldn't need to do another surgery. Ya well he does. Hes in agony. At the very least Im going to ask for that he gets a cortison shot in each ankle so he can do basic things...

Do any of you ladies ever have a problem with smelling? I may think this is a good thing to some extent,,,but I can't open the fridge with out smelling something gross. The guys all can't smell anything,,,I even taste it. in sealed packages. Again is this the effects of the drugs they gave me or do I have a SUPER smeller? I cleaned the fridge,,,washed down everything...fresh box of arm and hammer. Freezer too.

well Brandon is home he can get the flowers, I need a nap.

Mom2Gaby 03-02-2006 07:19 PM

woo hoo got the files done! Got my tax return cashed!

I miss Rach though. I left a message for her to call me last night, I had missed her call and she never did call back. I don't think she got the message.
I am putting her check for Lacrosse in the mail and she HAS to come home and shop for her equipment, right?? She HAS to come home - *laughs nervously*......damn that kid- she is going to give me grey/gray hair.

btw- how do you spell gray/grey??

I guess that is it. I am pooped. Going to go to the back office and haul the 20 files to my super and print off the self evaluation. Maybe I will work on it tonight.

Co worker is going for a week! yay......I am in charge. Old boss came in a talked for awhile, that was nice. I miss the old place that we worked at *sigh*.

Tomorrow I get off at noon and go to the court to offer support to ex wife.....or should I??? I don't know. I don't need to get on his bad side - maybe seeing me will remind him he has a daughter named Gaby?? lol

dim wit

k- I think I will go to Goodwill tonight and look around.

You are living through us Ang????????? hehe....pretty scary, huh???? lol Hope you are feeling ok, love ya!

chow!

RosieKate 03-02-2006 07:31 PM

 Susan - hope Rach calls soon.......

get lots of sleep, Angie....you will feel so much better

Cristi - thanks you for your kind words...hope you get your house sold fast. Then you can get really excited about moving into your new house!

MaryKate - thanks for the compliment. I love the sweater, but it is a little baggy...I may try to shrink it a little. I want to wear it to the preschool auction in a few weeks.

oops - gotta run - HI to everyone else!
Katy

da fat n da furious 03-02-2006 10:42 PM

better yet Katy,,,send it up north! Its my color...wahoo...

eloisecat 03-02-2006 10:57 PM

Susan: Sounds like, as hard as it is, you're doing the right thing for your daughter (I don't have all the history, but from what you said...).

I think parenting is the most imperfect science, isn't it? It's the only thing I've ever done in my life where the rewards are so amazing, and yet, I can feel totally inept!

Dealt today with playground drama with our son (kindergarten)...he's been terrorized by another kid, and we don't feel like the school has been taking action. I actually witnessed it today, and boy, did I channel my inner "mama bear". I was so angry! Don't mess with my kid...he's so sweet and vulnerable.

I'm pooped...too much drama, and my father-in-law and his wife (husband's step-mother) arrive tomorrow...talk about drama...

tommysgirl18 03-03-2006 12:19 AM

boy have we been busy! Brandon had his speech evaluation today. the lady played with him and observed him. She said that his speech is in the 20-23 month range, which is where it should be. She said that where he is now, is not worrisome so it isn't necessary to put him in speech therapy. So, she wants to re-evaluate him in about 6 months. Still haven't heard back from my mom.

She gave us a packet of information that will educate us, so that we can help him work on his speech. Speech/language was the only area that he was behind in, and he wasn’t even behind by that much. He was ahead in the self help and gross motor, and all the other areas that he got tested in he was right on target for them.

I think Logan is definitely teething now. His hands are constantly in his mouth. When he has his mouth open, you can see white spots all over the place. He fell asleep earlier in the bassinet, and then woke up screaming. I rubbed Oragel on his gums, gave him the rest of the his bottle and he was in a much happier mood.

Nancy~ I am so sorry to hear about your kitty.

Katy~ I love that sweater!

da fat n da furious 03-03-2006 12:39 PM

Nancy,,,been there and done that. Hope all the issues have been delt with and will be no reprocussions on your son. When Brandon was in grade 4 he got beat up by a boy in grade 7. The boy had anger issues and was angry with a teacher, he left the building and ran up behind my son who was walking into another door of the building. He kicked him all over his body, black eyes, fat lip. I was at work when the school called 3 hours later. *3hours grrr) anyways I went in and the VP says he didn't want to bother me while I was at work. I bet you anything he shuddered for years after when he heard my name, the man was an idiot. But close to an unemployed idiot. I changed the system in that school. I was appalled over the fact that the boy got a 3 day suspension. And laughed on his way out the door that he had 5 days off with the weekend...the mother (sigh swear her parents were siblings) was excited too since they could do a lil holiday. Well evryone learned that day they shouldn't tick me off,,,got quiet the temper.
By the time I was done with her she was sobbing in the corner with child welfare on its way... I also had the boy in another office writing out a report (500 words or more) about what happened. Then another report of what he should of done,,,took him 3 days...in that lil office...so much for a holiday.
There is a no bullying system in the school my youngest son goes to. Have never had him say hes been bullied so not sure how it works. Hes been harrassed by a lil girl that had a crush on him.

ok boredom has finally set in. I don't want to crochet anymore. I am sick of reno shows... I made cookies,,,have eaten 2..peanut butter.
I have the series Smallville to watch...that is it. No groceries in the house but can't go get any,,,roads are slippery. Im thinking I should ask one of my friends to come over and drive me to Safeway. Ill bring Brandon to lift everything.
I could do stuff its just I want to be outside! human contact....
Even my dog who never leaves my side is getting sick of it being just the two of us.
well gonna go watch superman

Mom2Gaby 03-03-2006 02:51 PM

Good Morning

Where is our Miss Cristi? Always look forward to reading your morning post :)

Thank you Nancy :) It is very hard.Last night I was in tears. I asked that she call me and the message was given to her. She called and was angry. I asked how her day was and she said fine. Some adult lady had called her twice at her fathers house asking for Rach and I asked if she knew a "Charlie" that was female. Rach didn't. Very odd. I asked if she was still interested in Lacrosse because I was about to put the check in the mail , she said no. I am mailing it anyway. I asked if she wanted to do anythinng this weekend and she said "nothing with you!."
ouch........so, I teared up and said good bye.

I am going to get off work in a minute. I have Wiggle tickets to buy and court to attend. Pick both older girls up at school at 4:00 and take back to the runaway youth place for a 4:30 meeting. Cross fingers she comes home. I miss her.

Adios!

RosieKate 03-03-2006 07:54 PM

Susan - I hope all goes well with Rachel today. I remember treating my mother pretty badly when I was a teen - making her pay for being gone I guess. I never ran away, but could have used some counseling - we really just never did that back then. Hope it all smooths out soon.....saying a prayer for all of you. Wiggles sounds like lots of fun. Leigh would love it. She and James just saw A Year with Frog and Toad with their grandma and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's musical based on the Arnold Lobel books and the broadway cast recording is so sweet. You can check it out at the library - Miss G may like it :)

Angie - I hope you can find something to do to ease your boredom - poor thing. Guess you'll have to learn to knit or something ;) I have a great blog for you - it's called www.crazyauntpurl.com She blogs about beginning knitting things and has a wicked sense of humor - very entertaining!

Mindee- glad everything went well with Brandon's evaluation - that has to be a big relief. You know, both my kids were late to the potty party and it wasn't a big deal. Two is kind of young for some kids to be ready for it. Mine weren't ready til 3 or 3.5 - but when they were - it was a piece of cake! Both kids made great progress in the summer and they could run around the backyard with no pants. I would put the potty on the deck and just let them "practice" where the messes were easy to clean up.

Nancy- I haven't had to deal with playground bullies yet... here's hoping I never have to. I would be pretty assertive, that's for sure! Our school has conflict managers at recess who seem to keep things from getting out of hand.

I visited a preschool today - and realized very quickly that it would not work for our daughter. So that one is off the list. DH and I agreed that looking at a few schools would be good, if nothing else it will help us feel ok about keeping her where she is if that's what is best for her. We would just set some boundaries as far as the grown-up workload. There's a part of me that would love a break from a co-op for a year. I'm feeling pretty tired right now, what with being on the board and our big auction fundraiser coming up in a few weeks.

Well - the fam is off to Family Fun Night at the community center tonight aka Mom's night off. I always end up in my jammies drinking wine and watching a movie. I should do something fun, but I'm so wiped out by Friday night. My life is so glamorous - NOT

Have a great weekend everyone
Katy

eloisecat 03-03-2006 08:59 PM

Mindee: We found the best stuff for teething is called Hyland's Teething Tablets. They are homeopathic, and you can get them at any health food store. I always found that the orajel was very harsh tasting - the Hyland's tablets taste sweet.

Susan: You hang tough...when Rachel grows up a bit, she'll thank you for the guidance you gave. It'll be harder on you for a while, but I'm sure you will do what's right for her.

Well, the bully was back on the playground today. We talked to the principal last night ,who really pissed me off when he said "Well, maybe Anthony just wants to make friends with Benjamin". I pretty much told him where to take that thought - that A's behavior was pure aggression, and my son has the bruises to prove it. At least he stayed away from Benjamin today, but I don't think this battle is over.

In-laws arrived today....DH is already in his "dad's here, I'm a wreck" mode. Luckily I'm going to Los Angeles on Sunday for a 2-day autism seminar. Woo hoo.

Poley 03-04-2006 08:17 AM

Just wanted to pop in and say hello.

I haven't had the time to post the last few days, with the funeral and family being here.
Bill's oldest brother and wife went home today. Our house seems so quiet. His other brother is still here. He goes back next week (they're not staying with us, they're @ Bill's mum's)

I haven't read through all the posts, will do tomorrow.
Off to bed in a tic. Courtney has pony club in the morning. Just got in from putting the float/trailer on the 4x4, so we don't have to do it in the morning.
It is our first pony club for the year and at this location, so a l'il nervous.

I hope you all have a great day, whatever you are doing :)
