I never noticed the profile thing...I guess I should redirect my question!

Rhonda ~ Fill us in...what is a sass bucket?

gdeann 02-23-2006 04:47 PM

I think it is similar to being a "smarty pants"???? Am I close???

WELCOME RHONDA! I love your profile pic! Looks like you'll fit right in here!

Gosh Cheryl, I went back and read my post from last night. I hope I didn't offend you, I sounded kinda like a "sass bucket" myself.

ShelleyM 02-23-2006 05:20 PM

WELCOME, RHONDA!!

This is a great group of ladies. We also have an exercise thread. Feel free to join in!

Becky got in fender bender today. She's okay, the car has a dent in the front. They didn't charge anyone with the accident, but Becky had the right of way, according to the accident report.

Gayle-How is FIL today? Still sending prayers.

Anybody remember when Dee will be back?? I really miss her!!

SuzyMc 02-24-2006 10:02 AM

Shelley ~ I'm sorry to hear about Becky's accident...thank goodness she wasn't hurt!

Winter has returned once again! We woke up to 20 degrees, 30 mph winds and 2 new inches of snow. How many days until spring?

My grandkids are here today and are going to spend the night tonight, so I'm sure they will be keeping me busy! I'm guessing that it will probably take me the rest of the weekend to recover! What's everyone else up to this weekend?

4myloves 02-24-2006 10:20 AM

Suzy--You're closer to Phil than any of the rest of us!! You should have "handled" this winter thing!!!!!

I know what you mean, though--I'm nursing a week-old cold, and I KNOW it's from all the drastic weather changes we've had over the past two weeks here in Arkansas. I'm ready for Spring, too!

I'm glad she is okay). I need a chaufer or something..lol. My little toyota echo cant take this weather. Thank god it didnt snow.
I lost 2 lbs even though i fell from grace this week. I was thrilled. I have the munchies big time. I am ready to gnaw off my arm. I went to the gym instead and did my first mile under 15 minutes whoohoo. Maybe next week i will join the olympic team for walking on a treadmill. ANyway... i better go.. the case of diet coke is calling me. Have a lovely friday!

Erin-Congrats on the loss! Sorry to say, it's still in the 80's here. No chance of snow in sunny Fl!! Good for you on working out instead of eating. I'm proud of you. I can't walk a mile in under 15 minutes. That's why I have to run!

ShelleyM 02-26-2006 10:57 AM

Just popping in to say Happy Sunday! I hope everybody is having a good weekend.
Love to all!

SuzyMc 02-26-2006 11:19 AM

Shelley ~ If you keep bragging about those 80 degree temps you might end up with more than a few winter weary house guests! We woke up to two new inches of blowing and drifting snow...tonight's low is supposed to be a whole 7 degrees! :(

Cheryl ~ You're right...I should have taken care of Phil myself! I am so ready for spring!

Erin ~ Down another 2 pounds...you are doing great! :carrot:

I did some shopping yesterday and got a pair of denim capris...in a SIZE 8! They are a little snug, but they go on and zip (I can breathe in them too  ) ! They should be just right when it's actually warm enough here to wear them. It's hard to believe that this time last year I was wearing a very tight size 14!

4myloves 02-27-2006 09:30 AM

Whoo-hoo, Suzy!! A size 8--that's Great!!

Shelley --- pah! You need some SNOW, too!

Daffadil71 02-27-2006 06:08 PM

Suzy that is awesome about the size 8s.You will be in a bikini by summer. I would kill to be an 8. Right now i can barely squeeze into a 14. Old Navy 14s fit but Target 14s are unbreathable to the point where you are hopping up and down and laying on the bed trying to get them on. then you get the muffin top hanging over the top. Its humorous. Hopefully in a few weeks i will be wearing them. Way to go!
I hope you all are having a great day!

Erin

SuzyMc 02-27-2006 09:13 PM

Erin ~ Nobody is going to want to see this grandma in a bikini no matter how much weight I loose! You keep at it and it won't be long and you'll be in 8's too! It can be done...I'm proof and if I can do it anyone can!

ShelleyM 02-28-2006 06:01 AM

Suzy-Wow!! A size 8!! You ROCK!!

4myloves 02-28-2006 04:08 PM

After LOTS of thinking and conversation:

I decided that I WILL help pay the bills, because I DO live there and I am his wife.

BUT!!!

Rather than just "giving" him $200 each month to do with as he pleases, I am going to pay the house payment, which is $212/month (plus any extra--to be applied directly to interest--if he feels I owe more that month).

My first experience with doing this resulted in the following conversation (which I found very funny):

Him: I really think you should be paying your share of the bills, and your share is $200.
Me: OK, that's fine. I paid the trailer payment yesterday (I did so w/o telling him what I was planning--you'll see why).
Him: You did what?
Me: I got the bill, wrote a check and paid it.
Him: Why didn't you give me the money so I could write a check?
Me: It was easier just to pay it.
Him: What are they going to think when they get your check for my bill.
Me: They're not going to think anything as long as the bill is getting paid. They probably don't even look that closely at the checks.
Him: Well, you should've given me the money and let me write the check. I'm the man of the house.

I don't know--something about that whole conversation struck me as sooooo funny.

Bottom line was I just felt like I needed to pay. If I moved back in with my parents at this point I would feel obligated to pay, so why not with my husband? It was just a mental issue I had to work through--I've been living alone for so long it's hard to get used to "sharing."
