I just got home from working all day. I'm so tired! :( I've got to take a shower and get things ready for work tomorrow. Talk to all later.....Love ya!

gdeann 01-23-2006 08:29 AM

WEIGH-IN: Down 4 pounds! Amazing! I'm eating potatoes, meat etc. and losing! Who would of thunk it!!!

coles 01-23-2006 08:45 AM

Way to go gain- Congratulations!!
I stayed the same, I was down 1 1/2 pounds in the middle of last week, then I was kinda bad.
Getting back on track today.
I am going to the doctor to insist he send me to an encodrinologist. I have asked him before and he has refused.
I can't handle the way I feel. My whole body is swollen, I can hardly bend my knees, I am tired then can't sleep without lots of medication. I even started thinking that I have bone cancer or leukimia. I know I'm not imagining these things. I hurt all the time.

coles 01-23-2006 08:46 AM

Sorry - The post above should say Gayle not gain

gdeann 01-23-2006 09:51 AM

Janice, have you ever been checked for fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue syndrome? I have a friend with fibromyalgia and she suffers horribly from joint swelling and pain. Please try to get the awful thoughts out of your mind about cancer...I agree, you need to see a specialist if your feeling this way. Prayers and hugs sent your way sweetie!

SuzyMc 01-23-2006 10:47 AM

Fibromyalgia entered my mind too. I hope you can get some answers today, Janice, or at least an appointment for a second opinion!

Gayle ~ Congratulations! You are doing great! Keep it up! :carrot:

I didn't get on the scales this morning...I didn't eat well at all this weekend. I know it was because Tim was gone. I didn't eat regular meals, went out to lunch with some friends and I ate in the evenings because I was bored. I really need to get serious now and get these last few pounds off and keep them off! Somebody needs to give me a good swift kick in the behind!

gdeann 01-23-2006 01:26 PM

HERES YOUR SWIFT KICK SUZY!!!

Now get right back on that saddle and ride your way to that 5 pound loss in the sky! YOU ARE SOOOOOOOO CLOSE TO GOAL! I know you can do it!!!

Sherry 01-23-2006 07:27 PM

CONGRATS GAYLE!!!!!! :cp:

I'm also "down" this week!! Another 2 lbs!!! So now I'm at 9 lbs. so far!!!! :carrot:

Janice...Please get to a doctor and have it checked out!!!

ShelleyM 01-23-2006 08:00 PM

Congratulations to both Sherry and Gayle!

Janice-I thought the same thing as the others-fibromyalgia. A friend of mine had it and hurt constantly and was always tired. It's worth looking into, don't you think?

gdeann 01-23-2006 11:13 PM

If I understand correctly Janice, Fybromyalgia is an inflamation of the joint tissue...sounds like what you are experiencing. If your doctor won't listen to you, then find one that will. You are not crazy, there is pain, now just to find the cause of the discomfort.

YIPPEEE!!! SHER! GREAT JOB ON THE WEIGHT LOSS!

coles 01-24-2006 08:14 AM

I went to the Doctor yesterday again. All the tests he did last week came back normal. I asked him to send me to an endocrinologist and once again he totally refused. He took more blood and agreed to send me to a rhuemalogist instead. He said this is not hormone related. He acts like I'm crazy! I said if everything is normal why do I hurt so bad. What a frustrating doctor.
Congratulations Sherry! You are back on track for sure.

gdeann 01-24-2006 08:36 AM

Now, I'm not going off of personal experience, but what I have heard...some doctors do not recognize Fibromyalgia as a disease and it is hard to diagnose. Sounds like you are on the right track seeing a Rhuemalogist since Fibro is a form of arthritis. PRAYERS SENT JANICE!

SuzyMc 01-24-2006 09:01 AM

Janice ~ I think it's a good idea to see a rhuemalogist too...especially since all the tests came back normal. There has to be a reason for the problems that you are having! When is your appointment?

Thanks for the swift kick Gayle!

Congratulations Sherry! You are doing great! :carrot:

Has anyone heard anything from Ramona? I think of her often and wonder how Dan is doing now that he is home.

Dee ~ How is Dez doing? Is she feeling better?

Deelite 01-24-2006 10:34 AM

Janice I agree with the girls. Not all doctors realize that it is a really disease. Keep persuingit! I had to do the same thing when I knew there was something wrong with my heart. My cardiologist just fluffed it off until my GP had a halter test done and the results were not normal. If need be change dr's.

Gayle and Sherry wow you girls are doing great. I am so happy that you are losers.

Suzy now that Tim is home there is no excuse. I know that when Larry goes away making meals doesn't happen to often but a bag of prewashed salad from the store isn't to hard to make. Top it with a chicken breast and you have a healthy dinner.
Dez started to take a turn to the better saturday. Her color looks better and she is moving around much better. She is still in a fair amount of pain but I am sure each day should be better. She gets her stitches out today.

It is a big count down for me. I will be pretty busy this week. I leave on saturday for PV for 5 weeks. I will be at the internet cafes occassionally so I will be checking up on you. Larry will be coming to PV a week after me. He will be staying the month. The first week is a birthday present for me. I am a little sad that I won't be spending it with Larry and the kids but I guess I can't be to sad. My God Parents will be celebrating it with me and then the next day there son and wife my favorite cousins will be arriving and celebrating it with me. We will know so many people out there I know we won't be lonely. Larry's step mom Gecko Mama will be there and friends of ours that live close by will be there and another two couples from the Y that we know will also be there. We also have many friends down there too. My brother from out of province is there right now but I will only see him and his family for one day before they go home.

Now for a stressful topic. I have been seeing the doc about my heart and he has change my heart meds again. It might be affecting my asthma so I need to go back thursday. I don't know if this will be settled by the time I leave. It makes me nervous but the doc said as long as I take it easy things should be ok. I told him we will have to adopt him so that it doesn't look funny when he moves into our second bedroom in the condo. lol I will keep you posted.

Now off to some more packing.

Oh yes by the way I got CROCED yesterday! So did Larry and Des. Check it out.

www.crocs.com

Dez said no way am I ever going to try those on and she ended up walking out with a pair of pale blue ones on her feet. They were the Aspen ones so she can wear them in the snow. Larry got the cream colored beach ones and I got the red beach ones. They are so light and comfy. They are something that is just making it big. Some of the stars have been spotted wearing them.

Adios, amigas.

Scarecrow91 01-24-2006 04:27 PM

Good Afternoon!
Missed getting on line the last few days. Are all of you using WW Core program? I used the ww points system many years ago. While walking last night made the big decision to try to use that again. Did GREAT yesterday...one day down, lifestyle changes to go!!

How often do you each weigh? I weighed yesterday morning, but am considering once a week here at the start. Last time after I reached goal (yes, I'm a YO YO) I weighed every day and that seemed to keep me on task - then some how, some where the task left! :dizzy:

Janice - sorry to hear of your pain. Having pain can be very frustrating and stressful!

Gayle and Sherry - I'm INSPIRED!! :carrot:

Now I just need to acquaint myself with all of you!! I will have to read your bios - but Gayle speaks highly about this fun group!
Everyone have a great evening and good luck on your goals! Now off to count up pts from my Dillions Salad from lunch - not quite sure I remember how!

Daffadil71 01-24-2006 05:00 PM

Hi my name is Erin. I'm from south Jersey. I'm 25 years old and i just joined WW. Do you gals have room for one more? I just got married 3 months ago and the honeymoon food and holiday food has caught up with me. I had lost weight and now i am starting to gain it back and i want to stop it before its too late. I want to be in good shape and be healthy for when we start having children so losing that weight wont be so hard and the pregnancies will be more likely to be healthy. Ok so i am rambling.... Anyway.. Is there room for not so little ol me? I'll be good i promise. :)

Erin

ShelleyM 01-24-2006 06:02 PM

Welcome, Erin! There's always room for 1 more. I don't have time to post right now, but I just wanted to say hi and welcome to the Floozies!

SuzyMc 01-24-2006 06:41 PM

:welcome3: Welcome Erin! :welcome3:
The Floozies are a wonderful group of ladies and you are more than welcome here! Congratulations on your marriage and the decision to lose weight and be healthy! I'm looking forward to getting to know you better.

Bev ~ I count calories and weigh-in once a week or so.

Dee ~ Thanks for the encouragement! You're right, Tim's home now and I don't have any more excuses...

A lot of the hospital workers here have started wearing croc's. I guess they are really comfy and can be disinfected easily!

Follow your doctor's orders and take it easy while you're gone! Check in as much as you can...we're going to miss you!

Travis called tonight! He sounded so good! Just 10 more weeks and he'll be back in the states! (for the newbies...he's an MP in the Marine Corps depolyed in Iraq since September) I really need to get my bum moving and get these last 5 pounds off!!!

gdeann 01-24-2006 11:17 PM

WELCOME ERIN!!! Feel free to join in!!! This is a GREAT group of WONDERFUL ladies who will offer their friendship & support! Congrats on the marriage and the loss of 55 pounds lost!

Bev, so happy your here too! These girls are the bestest! You will love each one as you get to know them. If my memory serves me correct... Shelley & I are doing core... Janice & Sher are low carbing... Suzy & a few others watch portions & count calories...Dee is doing the WW point system. We have a few others here on the board but I can't remember all of the plans.
YIPPEEE for choosing WW's! You will do great!
BTW: I weigh daily just to stay on track but only record my weight once a week on Mondays.

Suzy, I bet you can't wait to hold Travis again!
OK! Gayle the Drill Sargeant here! YOU HAVE 10 WEEKS TO LOSE 5 POUNDS!!! 1/2 POUND A WEEK AND YOU CAN MEET GOAL!!!! You have two very important reasons to meet your goal...Travis is coming home plus I want to have a SUZY MEETS GOAL PARTY HERE WITH OUR GROUP!

Dee, I keep looking at the crocs wondering if I would like them. It seems like your feet would get really hot since they are made of a rubber like material. I'm like Suzy, I see several of the medical profession wearing them.
Are you ready for the big trip??? Think of all of us as your sitting by the beach sipping your foo-foo drink and checking out the beach studs in the speedos!! LOL!

ShelleyM 01-25-2006 05:53 AM

Dee-Fashion Police here!! I think those Crocs are the ugliest things I've ever seen! They have them at Dillard's in every color under the sun. Wow! You are staying in PV for quite sometime this year! Enjoy!! I can't remember the thing you dressed for last year. Wasn't it a Diva princess or something like that? Refresh my memory. I do remember the gecko story though!

Bev-Gayle is right on. I'm on Core, but kind of Core maintenance, since I really don't want to lose. Actually, I gained another lb. this week. I go up and down 2-4 lbs. My face gets very haggard if I go below 124. Glad to see you over at the exercise thread! My exercise of choice is running. It helps relieve some of the stress in my life (stress??? who's stressed???)

Patty received an xrated item in the mail yesterday. We are all freaked out over this. The invoice was addressed to a man in Cape Coral and the ship to address was Patty at our address. Mike is going to call the company today to see if it was a mistake. If not, this guy is in big trouble.

4myloves 01-25-2006 09:07 AM

Shelley--I hope that x-rated item was a huge mistake!! How awful!

Dee--I think those shoes are FUGLY! But, the people I know who wear them LOVE them. I've been seriously thinking about getting a pair of them :)

Stewart took me to Tunica, Mississippi (to the casinos) for a late birthday week-end last weekend. He spent $200 on a hotel room for us and $50 on food and gave me money to gamble on. Someone wanted to reward him for his good behavior, because --as we were leaving-- he hit for $1,500 on the five-dollar slot machines!

Cheryl

gdeann 01-25-2006 09:29 AM

WOW CHERYL!!! You REALLY did have a wonderful weekend! Did sweetie Stewart share his winnings with you like any good husband should??? LOL!
This must be your lucky month! I hope the rest of the year continues this way!

Dee, I think the crocs are kinda weird looking too...but I have heard they are super comfy!!! They remind me of little dutch shoes but in funky colors.

Shelley, I hope it was a HUGE mistake on the companies part. I am sure everyone was shocked, I can't even imagine how Patty must of felt.

SuzyMc 01-25-2006 10:20 AM

Gayle ~ You're right...it's only 5 pounds. I can do it! I really have been sliding backwards...I guess I have been thinking that I'm close enough to my goal that I don't have to be as careful about what I eat. WELL with that attitude I'll be right back where I started in no time and I've come to far to let that happen! So this morning I'm cleaning out the refrigerator and cupboards of all the bad stuff that has crept its way back into the house AND I'm going to drink more water and count every single calorie until it becomes habit again!

Shelley ~ I hope you can get to the bottom of the package that Patty received! If you don't get an explanation from the company that it came from then I would contact the police and the post office!

Cheryl ~ It sounds like you had a positively wonderful weekend! What a great birthday you had!

Deelite 01-25-2006 02:15 PM

Barb I have bounced up and down all my life. You think that I would know better after doing it one time. It is a tough job to lose the weight so why do we graze our way up the scale? I weigh myself once a week. If I weigh more it is to dissapointing when I am up.

Erin welcome to the gang. We always have room for one more. Congratulations on getting married. We are here to inspire you.

Suzy crocs were first worn in the operating room. I can't beleive how comfy they are. I haven't taken them off my feet when I have been home. Dez has been wearing them all the time too.
Wow 10 more weeks and Travis will be home. I guess it doesn't sound like that far away considering that he has been gone since september. I am sure when you see him he will be more mature than the last time. How old is he again? I think he is close to my son Jay's age. He is 22.
Getting to comfy near goal is a BIG MISTAKE! That is how I gainned my weight back. Keep focused!

Gayle your right I count points. You have a good memory. I know that Crocs look like weird, comfy, funky colors, dutch shoes but I love my Crocs! They have vent holes in them to keep your feet cool. I am wearing my barefeet and my feet don't sweat. Never say never til you give them a try. They are great for people that are standing on their feet all day.

Shelley my fashion police! lol At first, I too thought they were the ugliest shoes I have ever seen. They grow on you after awhile.
Now you have to get your story straight here.
I was a Princess for our anniversary and every other day too but that was when I was dressed as one.
I am ordained a Goddess when in PV a few years ago.
So that is how I became a GP hense a Goddess Princess.
Got it? lol
Poor Patty! That is awful, I can't beleive something like that could have happenned. I hope that gets straightened out soon.

Cheryl I love my Crocs and Dez does too now! Go for it, get yourself a pair. You won't beleive how comfy they are.
Steward is so sweet to take you on your weekend trip. How lucky you are to have him. I think we have another Princess on board. That is a nice wind fall that Steward had. It doesn't happen that often.

Dez is taking me to a spa tomorrow and we are going to have a tandom couples massage. Then after that we are free to use their facilities. They have a mineral spa with temps at 92, steam room, hot tub and a fruit buffet. That is her birthday gift for me. It will be nice because I won't get to see her much after that before I leave.
Then in the evening tomorrow Larry, and the kids are taking me out for dinner. It should be a nice day.

Three more sleeps to go and I am out of here. Yipee! I am going to miss you guys but I will be checking in.

Daffadil71 01-25-2006 06:19 PM

Thank you all for thank nice welcome. I feel so loved. :) Today was just one of those "pre-period-I'm-going-to-eat-everything-that's-not-nailed-down" kind of days. To bad i weigh in for the first time tomorrow night. I keep having these visions where the group leader clicks her tougue at me and tells me to leave because I'm a lost cause and i have disgraced the Weight Watchers franchise. I like to imagine the worst thing that could happen so when it does I'm not shocked. :) Anyway....Thank you again for the nice welcome.

gdeann 01-25-2006 06:40 PM

Erin, good luck with weigh-in! I had a week like that last week...I wanted chocolate, sugar, just anything! I recovered this week and even went on to lose a few pounds. Just remember, if you do show no loss or a gain, it is probably fluid since TOM is near. If she clicks her tongue at you, we'll come rough her up for ya!!! :-) LOL! Again, GOOD LUCK!

ShelleyM 01-26-2006 06:02 AM

Boy, did I eat last night! We had spaghetti with regular pasta (not ww.) I couldn't stop eating, and this morning I am so bloated. What is my problem lately? I can't seem to stop thinking about food. The sad part is that I just don't even want to motivate myself. I am really craving chocolate, and haven't had any, other than the ff/sf fudgsicles. I may need to take a break from the stringent way I've been eating. Gayle, you may want to printout information on the WW site to keep. I might decide to stop for a bit. (Please talk me out of this!) It might be the fact that I'm running harder and longer.

gdeann 01-26-2006 09:53 AM

Shelley, how about if you try "hard core" and eat more protein and stay away from the sweetened stuff? I'm not sure if it is my imagination, but even if I eat stuff sweetened with splenda, it will cause sugar cravings for me. Also, it may not work for you, but FF milk has been a lifesaver for me! Odd huh? If I am hungry, I can drink a cup of milk and sometimes add a piece of fruit along with it. This gets me by for quite a while. In fact, it is soooo strange....I can eat a larger breakfast of oatmeal or eggs and go to work. Usually by the time I get home, I'm starving! OR I can drink one cup of milk and be just fine until I get home. I never thought a little milk would satisfy me.
I really think your body is telling you it needs more (good) food to recover from all the energy you use running. Do you use all of you points allowed each week plus your AP's? I hope it doesn't sound like I'm coming down hard on you Shelley, but you have came so far, I hate to see you backslide...you are a great inspiration to me and others. If you need a shoulder, email me anytime!

Cheryl, I've been meaning to tell you something. Right about the same time you posted about the sighing as a tool to measure your hunger while eating, I also read about it here on the net. I decided to listen to my body and see if it works...and yes it does! Steve laughed at me when I explained it to him, but then a few nights later during mealtime he said he hated to admit it but me and all my net buddies are right!

Bev, are you going to do WW's online or do meetings? If you have any WW questions, Dee & Shelley are the ones to ask. They continue to keep me inspired when I am having thoughts of donuts etc!!!!!

Sher-bear, where you be?????? Come back out and play, K????

Suzy, I am POSITIVE you will meet goal! Have you went out and purchased new clothes yet? You deserve it!

Where is Vickster, Doni, Deb???? Please come post and let us know how life is treating you!!!

SuzyMc 01-26-2006 10:11 AM

Shelley ~ I have been having the same thoughts and we CAN'T let ourselves do it or we will be right back where we started and neither one of us wants that to happen. You are maintaining though and if you are running harder and longer then maybe you do need to increase your calories. I know I need to rebreak some bad eating habits! I haven't been very careful about what I have been eating and some of those old habits have come creeping back.

Erin ~ Good luck with your weigh-in today!

Dee ~ Travis turned 20 just before he left for Iraq in September. He will be home for 2 weeks in April and I can hardly wait...I haven't seen him in over a year!

Scarecrow91 01-26-2006 12:44 PM

Good Morning Ladies!
Windy day in KS!!

G - I am not going to spend the $ to attend meetings, I'll have YOU all!! I am using points - (I was a WW member several years ago when pts came out...then I went back again for 6 wks, but didn't have the motivation) SO I am going to try to do it on my own with the help of my friends!
I am on Day 4 of the "release of the skinny girl" mission! I have been doing ok - keeping up my food diary, drinking my water and walking. My fear is the weekend is looming!

Welcome Erin! I just began posting here too so I'm a newbie as well learning all the "Floozies" myself! (Just a little tidbit, I am a cousin to Gayle! She invited me... ;o) She is very sweet!)

Good Luck to everyone today on your goals...remember one step/day/hour/minute (whatever it takes to keep your focus on your goal!) at a time - no one made the journey all at once... (mine is sometimes by MINUTES!!!)

Daffadil71 01-26-2006 08:24 PM

Hi ladies.. Well..i wasn't thrown out of weight watchers with a scarlet letter on my shirt. I even lost 4.6 lbs. I'm thrilled. I never would have thought. My job has been so stressful lately that i want to eat and crawl in a hole. ( i work in a state institution for mentally retarted/mentally ill women as a social worker and i adore my work. There is never a dull moment). This week im being pull in 10 differant directions i swear.

Anyway..Maybe saturday i will make it to the Gym or tomorrow after work if im still standing. Thank you all so much for your support and warm welcome. I hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow.

gdeann 01-27-2006 12:31 AM

Erin, CONGRATS on the weight loss! Boy, am I relieved!!!! I just knew for sure I would be heading your way to rough up the gal with the clicking tongue. LOL! Sounds like you have a very stressful job, just try to remember to find time just for you too. WELCOME!!!!!

Bev, your doing great on the mission!!! Just keep thinking...skinny, skinny thoughts!

ShelleyM 01-27-2006 06:16 AM

Quick post because I'm running late:

Erin-Great job on the WI!!

Bev-I'll be happy to help with any WW questions you have.

Gayle-I can't drink milk. That's why I'm using soy. You are right though. I should go back to hard core. And to answer your question, I'm sure I'm not using all my WPA and AP's because I earn so many on the weekends.

Gotta go!!

Deelite 01-27-2006 02:05 PM

Erin Wow you did an awesome job. What a loser you are(in a good way). Keep that up and you will be so skinny we won't see you when you turn sideways.

Shelley try to use some more of your AP's. I know that is hard for me to do but when I do I lose or maintain better.

I probably won't be posting for a couple of weeks now. I am just getting the last minute things ready and I will be gone. I will miss you ladies. I wish that I had access to a pc everyday.

Love you all.

Dee

gdeann 01-27-2006 07:17 PM

Hope you have fun Dee! Sorry we won't be able to share your birthday with you this year! Have fun, stay out of trouble & come back home safe! Enjoy your time in the sun!

Love, Gayle

gdeann 01-28-2006 03:57 PM

Not doing so well oin the eating department girls! Had some family issues and chose to punish myself by having pizza tonight! How silly is that? Actually, I feel like I need a big break tonight way from family, problems etc. I will be OP again Monday but for now, I'm swimming in self pity. Birthday party for MIL complete with ice cream & cake on Sunday too....I'm glad I have all of you to share with though...

SuzyMc 01-28-2006 05:51 PM

Way to go Erin! A 4 (almost 5!) pound loss is awesome! Keep it up! :carrot:

Gayle ~ I'm sorry to hear that you're having a rough weekend. Stress will send me into an eating frenzy faster than anything and there's no way that I can spend time with my mother-in-law unless there is a LOT of cake and icecream involved! Hang in there and hopefully things will be better on Monday!

Dee ~ I'm sure you are on your way now, but my wishes for a safe wonderful trip go with you!

I've had two really good days in a row, so hopefully I am back on track now! (Sheesh, I sure hope I didn't just jinx myself! :dizzy: )

ShelleyM 01-29-2006 07:35 AM

Gayle-Be good to yourself. You have come this far and doing wonderful. If you eat something you shouldn't just get BOT immediately! MIL birthday cake??? I thought you didn't like your MIL. Why eat those calories celebrating someone you don't even like??? If you do decide do, just have a tiny piece of cake and a small amount of ice cream. Count them toward your WPA.

Suzy-Yay!! 2 days BOT. Good for you! Keep up the good work.

gdeann 01-29-2006 12:41 PM

I LOVE my MIL Shelley! She is a wonderful lady, so much different then my first MIL also known as the wicked witch of the south! LOL! I have great in-laws, wouldn't trade them for the world. The problem is my siblings, inlaws through marriage....I believe half of them are aliens posing as humans. They know which buttons to push with me and most of the time they succeed in making me a total wreck. I'm getting through today fretting about some of it, but as of Monday morning, all family problems go on the back burner and I will be busy again concentrating on me.
