Well, I started at 175 last week and weighed in at 173 yesterday. I'll keep working at it. Hopefully I can get the other 7 lbs off in time.

Lainey2 01-10-2006 10:53 AM

Well, I'm with FGNM. I did not gain, but I did not lose. I know the reason why is I did not watch my diet the past two weeks. We have just begun a weight loss competition at work though, and believe me, I will be eating right from here on out. It's encouraging to know I didn't gain, but none the less, I want to LOSE. Oh, and another thing. I weighed in this morning on a digital scale and my weight tracker is WRONG. I need to go out and change it, which is frustrating. I actually weigh more than I thought! Grrr.....I'll have better news in a week though!

PrestonsMama 01-10-2006 11:50 AM

I joined in a little late, but my weigh in was 208 last week and 205 today. I joined at 206, so I am 1 pound down, 10 more to go for V-day!

LeslieFM 01-10-2006 12:04 PM

I wanna jump in. I have been eating better and I have actually worked out a few times since New Years. I was waiting to "commit" haha. I have lost 2 pounds.

Stayc 01-10-2006 12:09 PM

Hey Ladies well, sorry it took my a couple hours to post, I had to get over my sadness.:stress: Well I gained 1.5  I was really upset ,I did really good in the eating dept,( even my DH said your eating alot less at ever meal) but I could have stepped up my working out, which I will . SOOOOOOO I guess that make my challenge goal change to 11.5 YEAH NOT !! Well I will pick myself up off the floor and move forward. Cause I will be Lookin good come July. Hope everyone else has great success. FGNM- Keep it up girl 6 hours of
exercise you go girl !!!!:carrot: Good job Prestonsmom, and Iowachic. :D

racegirl78 01-10-2006 12:43 PM

Well, my scale is stuck at 154 this week, probably because I was very, very naughty of Fri night with pepperoni pizza. The lesson I take from this is, once I get to my goal weight, I can still have stuff like pizza if I eat well the other 97% of the time :) ;)

jas80 01-10-2006 01:13 PM

well, i was 204 when the challenge started, and i'm 202 today. i've been exercising every day (something i haven't done since high school gym class). now if i would eat better, down some more water, i bet the number would be higher. but i'll take the 2 lbs.
good luck everyone!!

Flossygrl 01-10-2006 03:58 PM

Weighed in.. and 1 lb down.. not bad considering I just started Sunday.
I still haven't gotten around to exercising, but I am eating properly.

Bloodbought 01-11-2006 01:05 AM

Hello to all

This is my first time ever on these forums and I must say that I am a little overwhelmed. I am reading a little about the Valentine's challenge and am wondering what it is all about. I need to start some kind of challenge because as of now I have pretty much given up on all diet and exercise attempts. This has me really down on myself and it has started affecting other areas like the housework and laundry. A little about myself is that I am a stay at home mom who is raising a 1 year old. My husband works second shift so it gives me lots of hours to fill up with something and I guess ususally what I fill up is my mouth with food. Well, now I guess I am just rambling but if anyone out there has any advice I can use all the help I can get at this point.

fatgirlnomore! 01-11-2006 07:32 AM

Congratulations to all and it looks like weve been moved over to support based groups ! To all those who didnt lose this week is a new chance at that!! Cmon girls we can do this , weve all done it a million times before the only difference is this will be the last time !!! HUGGGGSSS

srolsonmom 01-11-2006 01:34 PM

finally found you

Well after looking for a while I finally found you all.
I just joined Sunday, and was sick yesterday, but I managed to lose 1 pound. No matter what the reason I'll take it!
Now all I have to do is get serious about the exercising, I HATE to exercise!
Congratulations to everyone who lost, and keep up the good work to us all!
WoooHooo, way to go! :bravo:

judydc 01-11-2006 03:40 PM

I posted on the old thread yesterday--guess FGNM wil start us off with a new one every Tuesday morning...I am down at least two pounds, yaay! This is the first week of the Curves six-week challenge, so that will help me reach my goal, too.

Bloodbought, most of us set a goal of losing 5% of our weight by 2/14, but since we've gotten a head start, you should probably set a goal that works for you.

I'll bet there are lots of moms with young kids and challenges similar to your own on the 3FC board who would love to check in with you. If you don't meet any on this thread, you might start your own thread under "Buddy Up."

Look for "Thread Tools" on your computer screen and select "subscribe" to make it easier to find this thread over the next week. And good luck in setting a goal that will get you off on the right foot!:cheer:

wt loss

Hi everyone, Ihave'nt been around because I've been working late this week. I have been keeping up with the exercise, but I think I worked a little to hard because my thigh muscles are so sore. it's been hard to walk up and down the steps without wanting to cry. I weighted in last friday ( my offical weigh at curves) and I was down 3.25 lbs. I'll post my wt on fridays. I'm hoping to enter the 230's this week. Congrats to everyone who has lost, and to those who didn't, don't forget to measure, you might have gained muscle and lost inches;) So don't beat yourself up, you are doing great.:carrot: Have a good week

Bloodbought 01-11-2006 10:40 PM

Thanks

Hey, Judy thanks for the tips. So often newbies are ignored at first. Sorry about the negativitiy yesterday. I was have a stress day. Today was better though and I think that I will be able to start some kind of diet. I know there are a billion out there so do you have any suggestions?h

fatgirlnomore! 01-12-2006 08:05 AM

Bloodbought<
Diets dont work ! You have to find a way to live for this is for the rest of your life! I use portion control and try to maintain a lower fat diet thats about it tho ! I drink lots of water and I exercise (Ive only gotten serious about exercise in the last month or so) !! Just find somehting that suits you start with small changes dont try to become diet queen and exercise queen all at once you will set yourself up for failure and that leads to go back to old habits try to change little things slowly leading up to the lifestyle you can live with ! HUGGGGGSSS you can do this and we will all support you on your journey!!!!

aimin4thin 01-12-2006 12:21 PM

Thanks so much!

Thank you so much, FatgirlNoMore for starting this fabulous challenge. You are so motivating, I have no doubt that with this type of daily support all of us will be much healthier come 2007!!! :D

I just started eating right and working out on Monday and I found this thread on Tuesday. I am so excited that I am already down 1 pound. It doesn't sound like much and it won't light the world on fire, but hey... it's a start!

One pound at a time, one good habit at a time and a much healthier me come Valentine's Day! Let's do this thing!!!

Starting Weight 165 at 5'7
Current Weight 164 (and dropping :carrot: )
V-day Goal Weight 156
Ending Goal 130

Right attitude!! ANd dropping LOVE THAT !!!

MommaAshley 01-12-2006 05:11 PM

Hi All !!!
My name is Elizabeth & I am SO excited about joining the 3FC forums !! I have been lurking and reading the threads for a few days, and finally got up the nerves to post. I am 30 yrs old, am married to J, with 2 step-girls ages 6 & 4, and a son 9 MO.. I work FT, and am just TIRED OF BEING FAT !!! ;)

Well one of my BIGGEST resolutions was to lose weight in 2006. Plus my husband gave me a kick butt incentive !!

He told me that if I would lose 75% of my goal weight by November ~ We would go on a 7 day cruise of my choice!! How could I not be willing even more for that WOOHOO !!!

So here's some of what I am doing:

1. Giving up sugar (which I've already done, thank the lord for Splenda)

2. Giving up caffeine & only drinking one soda a day (if that)

3. Exercising at least 30 mins at day (work in progress)

4. Allowing myself only 1250-1300 calories a day ! (currently doing)

WHY do I want to do this ?

1. So I can be around to see my son, my step-daughters and future children grow up and have families.

2. To be more healthy !

3. To look and FEEL sexy

And of course there are a billion more I could put !!

So that's what I am doing. . . I am really TRYING hard and so far I've lost 11 lbs since January 1st!! :carrot:

LOVING this Challenge !!!

ChristyK! 01-12-2006 09:01 PM

Hi Girls,
I weighed in tonight and am down another 1.4 pounds. Amen! I worked pretty hard with my exercise and I tried the "Wendie Plan" version of WW. (search for the Wendie plan on other threads). On some days I had to make myself eat more then what I would normal. The scale has been stuck for weeks and it is finally down 2.2# since the start of the challenge and for a total of 4#. Maybe I wasn't eating enough- imagine that. Well hope you all have a great weekend and remember to exercise and drink your water.

Christy

weigh in

Hi all, I went to bally's tonight and decide to have a fitness assessment and I went down in body fat % form a 44.10 to a 43.9% which is good. I also lost .75lb so I didn't reach my goal this week in crossing over into the 230's but I'm a toe away:) Have a good wkend ladies and congrats to everyone:hug:

Bloodbought 01-13-2006 01:15 AM

fatgirlnomore,

Thanks for the encouragement and the advice. It has been hard for me to maintain friendships while staying at home with my 14 month old full time so I can use all of the support I can get. I feel really good about this thread because I can tell that everyone really cares how the others are doing. I haven't set any goals and am still getting used to the forum, so bear with me and soon I will post my goals and weight scale thing. Glad to hear of the others weight loss....keep up the good work.

fatgirlnomore! 01-13-2006 07:41 AM

Its Fridayyyyyyyyyyyyy

Not that this matters much to me cause I work all weekend! LOL I hope this finds everyone sticking to their goals and working hard! After my morning exercise I will have logged 5 hours of exercise which I am proud of and hopefully by Monday I will have 7 hrs! This is a diffucult journey right now the closer I get to goal the more diffucult it is becoming ! I have never worked out like this and I mean never at the most it was like a half an hour a day ! I am a little at odds with the whole diet exercise process right now and feel like diving into a big cheesecake ! I wont because that will only put me further behind and I will have to work that much harder to get where I want to be! There is nothing that will stop me from doing that NOTHING!!! I will exercise and I will eat properly !! The scale is not budgging and I am frustrated I know that I am not doing anything that I shouldnt be so I dont understand ! I will not give the little metal box the pleasure of making me over eat and the pleasure of derailing my efforts! It will also not control my moods and emotions it really doesnt deserve that much! after all it is only a number ! Hugs to all and remeber treat the weekend like you would any other day and you should be just fine I will see you all on Tuesday! Dont forget that I will start a new thread on Tuesday same name WI 3 tho k HUGGGSS Cya soon!!!

Jennpsu 01-13-2006 09:15 AM

Stay Strong FGNM!!!

Ugggghhh, the dreaded plateau...it is every dieting woman's nightmare, isn't it? You eat right, you exercise so shouldn't the scale be going down. :( Hopefully this will make you feel better.

For two months I upped the ante on my workouts, lived on all manner of grapefruit and tuna combinations, drank enough water to capsize a yacht and alas...the scale hovered between 150 and 151. (Oh to have that problem now that I am up at 164 ;) ) I was only able to bust it by confusing my body.

For three days and three days only, I allowed myself modest portions of the foods I loved like nachos, pizza, and yes...even chocolate. I changed my heavy aerobics to strength training and pilates and promised not to touch the scale for two weeks. Low and behold, I dropped a full seven pounds thusly busting my plateau.

Now I am not advocating that you should plunge into a carbohydrate and fat-laden purgatory of sorts for a weekend sabatical, but if the scale is stuck, you have to shake things up a bit. Kick it up a notch as Emerill Lagasse would say- although I am not trying to watch a lot of him these days :joker:

Best of luck to you sweetie! I know you can do it and your friends here at 3FC will be with you every step of the way!!!

Continuing Goals

Hey- pardon me if this has been discussed before or on another thread. I am so new (just joined Tuesday of this week). I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Valentine's Day challenge and I think it is brilliant- props to our resident genius, FGNM!

So after we all lose 5% of our body weight and go out and get our sexy red dresses for v-day,:encore: do we then get to start in on a Saint Patrick's Day challenge? And then an Easter Challenge, followed by a Mother's Day challenge and so on and so forth? I think the challenges are a great way to get folks motivated to really drop the weight in a very healthy way with tons of support. Before too long, we will all totally be there!

And Hugs back to you FGNM!!! You are such an inspiration!!!

fatgirlnomore! 01-13-2006 03:06 PM

Yep we will continue to have challenges and I think that it could possibly continue with the holidays as markers Im not sure tho yet but if anyone has a suggestion to the next one we should do let me know !!!!!

aimin4thin 01-13-2006 04:00 PM

Perfect!

YAY! I am so glad to know that the challenges will continue!!! I don't care if they are aligned with the holidays or not. It just seems that the holidays are nicely spaced apart and it is easy to find fun clipart and weight trackers to match them! :D Any way y'all decide to do it is just fine by me. If I am able to lose 8 pounds by each challenge, that puts me just 2 pounds from goal on Mother's day! I like the sound of that! It would be a nice B-day gift to give myself as I have a b-day in June. :gift:

The weekend offers lots of opportunities for mindless snacking, so remember: Weigh-in is on Tuesday....

judy

aimin4thin 01-13-2006 04:43 PM

Thank you, Judy- that is totally true about the weekends and snacking. The other thing about weekends that can sabotage diet plans is alcohol. My husband is a Shriner and the Shriners are BIG party animals so there is always the temptation to drink and that has wayyyyy too many hidden and empty calories. Does anyone have any great tips for social drinking without totally tanking one's weight-loss efforts?

Bloodbought 01-13-2006 08:04 PM

Hello all, glad to hear that we are all psyched up to defeat overeating this weekend. I know that I am a little late on getting my act together and accepting this challenge but you all have inspired me tremendously, especially you fatgirlnomore. As of right now I am making a decision to lose this weight and change my life and my bad habits. Thanks so much for setting up this website and I am going to get off of this computer right now and exercise. I tried to set up my weight bar scale thing and we will see if it works.

Bloodbought 01-13-2006 08:05 PM

Well, I guess I don't really know how to do that yet. I thought I set it up and would only have to paste it in. Suggestions?

Bloodbought 01-13-2006 11:30 PM

I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone luck with their weight loss!

fatgirlnomore! 01-14-2006 10:32 AM

 Thank you bloodbought for calling me an inspiration , although I dont see it that way! Iam just another chick trying to get healthy and finally be the weight I was meant to be! Your compliment got me through my work out this morning Thank you !! :o
