Good Morning everyone! Still here working on payroll crap. :D

Noelle.. I got your email.. I will have to go and take a look at the pictures later.. and that is good news about your knee. I hope the PT can help it quickly and you can get back to your walking!

Julie... hon, where are you??? You are missed! I hope everything is ok for you and your family!!

Angie... the cruise was OK.. I think going as a family might be fun... you kids would enjoy it! And I second Noelle's comment... water retention... just keep plugging away.. you are doing great!

Kempy.... now that you have started WW, you have only one place to go.. DOWN!!! :-) You can do it!

Red... how are things going? Recovering from your spill?

Well.. last night the girls and I went to a Rose Bowl party at Alan's. Several people came over, and I got Hannah to sell 24 boxes of her girl scout cookies! She did great! I was so excited that Texas won.... It was a great game, down to the last seconds.

Today.. just plan on working...I've got a catch in my shoulder (got it sometime yesterday afternoon) that is giving me a few problems.. but I hope it works itself out soon.

BACK to work here... :-((

Talk to you guys later....

Cherie

Noelle, I am so happy that you dont need knee surgery. My FIL had to have that done a few years ago and he was laid up forever. What are you going to be able to do for exercise from now until you get better?

Cherie, You didnt like the cruise that much? I want to take it because it stops in Charleston SC first and Jay wants to go see all the plantation houses and architecture of the old buildings. then it is on to the bahamas so it would be more sightseeing than we ususally can fit in. I think so anyways. When you took your cruise what things werent covered under the expense? I cant seem to really find that info anywhere. The hard part for me would be putting Rebel in a kennel. I am so afraid he would be scared and try to bite someone.

Julie, Come out, come out wherever you are! We are all starting to get really worried about you. You have never been gone for this long.

PhotogirlTX 01-05-2006 12:58 PM

Well, Angie.. I cruised with Norweigian.... and it seemed they nickled and dimed us on everything. You had to pay for sodas, for drinks (very expensive) for the finer dining restaurants, any extracuricula activities link bingo, and exercise classes, and then there was the over priced spa treatments if you wanted those. Plus, any alchol you bought in the duty free shop, they wouldn't let you have until the last night of the cruise.. so you couldn't mix your own.. and if you bought any off shore.. you had to turn it in.. which was a crock of poo....

However, it was a nice experience.... the regular dining areas were free, as were milk, juice, coffee and water.. unless you wanted bottled water. They had some cool entertainment shows that were free, and there were a lot of on board activities that were free as well. You got to dress up several times and you could purchase pictures that they took of you. You could get online, but that cost too. There was the casino, which was fun, but of course, you had to have money. And anything you did off shore cost. I don't know what Celebrity cruises do.. but if I every had to do another one.. I would probably go to Royal Carribbien.. I have heard good things about them. Oh.. don't go through hurricane season either :D

I am glad I have done one... it was a good experience.... I had more fun just being with Alan.. we had a lot of alone/together time on the boat... so that was very nice.

I just deleted a link to a cruise line opinions.. I will see if I can find it. Here you go... http://www.cruisecritic.com/reviews/...CruiseLineID=9

If you know what ship you are looking for you might get some more info out of this.... it was right on for the Norwiegian Sun, the boat we took.

Hope this helps!

Hi all. Sorry, no time to post. I've taken on another burden in the shape of a stray cat, well, a severely neglected cat, who has now lost an eye because of it...makes me so angry, the way people turn away from animals. She is at the vet now but I will have to bring her home and try to find room for a cage in my tiny place, try to get her well even though the one eye is not savable due to a horrible infection....well, that's my reason for the quiet, and I have two deadlines now upon me. It always pours when it rains.... Take care all! Noelle, thanks for the pics. They will help cheer me up and remember that there are blues skies and smooth sailing out there. I just have to be patient. Ciao all.

Kempyd 01-05-2006 07:58 PM

Good evening guys. I had a late client today so I got home late. So far the WW is going ok. One of my friends here is doing it too and has been for a good while. She helped me get a grocery list together. That is the only complaint I have about the program, they really didn't tell me about how to shop. I mean, you get these books and they are filled with list but you kind of freak out and don't want to mess up so you don't want to eat anything. I don't know if it was like that for you Noelle but I just got a little overwhelmed. I am happy thought b/c I can still eat sushi. :D

Red you are such a great person for helping that cat. I hate the way people treat animals too. They wonder why animals attack people after they treat them badly. I will keep you in my thoughts.

Angie Joe and I are going on a cruise in April. We are going out of Tampa on Carnival. As far as I know they don't nickle and dime you. Our neighors are going with us and they are pros so they know the right lines to sail on. Don't worry about the gain. You are doing so great it will fall off too.

Cherie mmmmmm GS cookies. I love those things. We have a little girl in the subdivision that will go door to door and damned if I don't buy 5 boxes. I alwasy think it is a good idea at the time but when I get them in I change my mind.

I need to get some dinner but i will check back later.

Hi Girls, I hope you all are not mad at me that I have not posted, sorry! I missed you girls. I guess my excuse is I have not been myself, maybe in a little funk? Not depressed but maybe the weather? After all the sun has not been out in over 2 weeks!! You are all doing so GREAT losing and sadly I have gained about 10 pounds since the beginning of December!! Anyway time to stop my whining and get off my butt and excercise to not only lose weight but to just feel that good old healthy feeling! We had a wonderful New Year. Lots of seafood and champange. The dog is doing great. I think I told you all the we are going to be sharing her with my FIL. He wanted to get a hunting buddy this spring and since he is getting up there in age we are going to give it a try sharing her. In fact dh is dropping her off there tomorrow before work so he can take her to the bird game farm. I am going to miss my baby when she is not here but I know she will love the excercise. I hope it works out. I think it will, because during the day I am gone alot now helping out at ds's school and dd is going to be starting preschool classes this semester so she will not be alone when I am not here, she is a big baby and a lap dog, can you believe that for a lab? Haha. Well enough about me!

It sounds like everyone is doing pretty good. I am sorry I worried everyone. I love ya girls! You are all the best! I am going to go back and read to see what I have missed.

PhotogirlTX 01-06-2006 11:12 AM

Hey Julie! Welcome back!!! I know that exact funk that you are talking about... it kept me from coming here too.... I hated it... and you are not alone on gaining weight... I gained those same 10 pounds too..... (((((((HUGS)))))))) we can get back on track and feel better!

I'm happy to hear the new baby has fit right in with your family! That is great! Mine keeps getting bigger and bigger.. but she is really starting to be part of our little family too.

Kempy.. good luck with WW.... I was watching a show last night on TLC I think, and they kept advertizing NutriSystems.. and I kept thinking.. that would be so much easier.. just have the prepackaged food and go by the menu.. then I wouldn't have to shop and decided and try to figure out all my calories..... thinking about it... but it's so expensive.

Red.... you are such a saint. That poor little kitty.. you have such an enormous heart... she was very lucky you found her.

Well girls.. I am so glad it's Friday. I've been busy.. and will have to take work home this weekend too.. but it's OK.... better than not having a job right? Girls and I are going to get our hair cut tomorrow and then go see a movie and have lunch.. maybe not in that order! I still haven't seen the Harry Potter movie... and they saw Narnia while they were in TX... so I think I'll go see Harry with them. Hopefully it's not too scary.

I need to get back to work.. I'm on hold right now with my payroll provider... so I need to make sure I have all my stuff ready for when they answer! I'll Check back later!

Cherie

angieME 01-06-2006 01:11 PM

Hey girls! I have been grocery shopping all day today so that is why I am late.

Red, You are so sweet! I am glad the kitty found you. She is so lucky. I hope she is okay. Give her(and you) a great big hug from me. I found a Ragdoll cat on Petfinder and I applied to adopt him. (I have always wanted one but I have always had cats in need find me) Anywho, The cat rescue I guess turned me down because I have 2 cats that go outside when they want to. The thing that bugs me is that I would be a great home for him and they were disrespectful about it like I was an idiot or something. They told me he has already been adopted but yet he is still listed as of just now. I could have lied to them but instead I was truthful and they treated me like dirt. I hope when he does get a home the people who adopt him dont just lie on the application because they know to do it.

Cherie, Thanks for the link about the cruises. I liked reading all the opinions about the cruises. How big is your pup now?

Julie, I am glad to hear you are safe. You had us worried girl!!

Kempyd 01-06-2006 07:42 PM

Hey guys. Well, I have made it through almost 3 days of WW and so far so good. It seems to be pretty easy but I still had a hard time at the store trying to think of things to buy. I ended up buying a few of the Smart Ones meals so I really don't have to think about lunch next week.

Angie that is one of the stupidest things I have ever heard. Why is it such a big deal if you have cats that go out? Do they think they people only have indoor cats? I know Spart goes out whenever he wants. Did you buy anything ood at the store today? How was the scale this morning?

Cherie I checked out Nutrisystem too but it is around $300 a month and I just don't have that kind of money. It would be great though not having to ever cook or go to the store. The only problem is Joe and I would both have to be on it to make the no store thing work. I guess if you NEVER have any food in the house you will lose weight.

Julie it is so good to see you back. I think winter has alot to do with the moods. I have been ok this year but I really hasn't been cold and the sun has been out. I try to sit in it for at least 10 mins a day at work so I will feel better.

jbbm 01-06-2006 09:23 PM

Hi Girls

Kempy great job the last three days. I wanted to say you and Joe make such a nice couple, good pictures. And the puppy is adorable. So big already. I agree about winter and moods....the weather man said the sun has not been out here since December 21-YIKES! LOL!

Angie, I bet you got some great healthy things at the grocery store. I have to get there this weekend and stock up on some good healthy food for next week. I got your e-mail about your kitty, I am so sorry. He was lucky to have a great mom like you!

Cherie your Saturday sounds like it is going to be fun, can I come along? Lets get those ten pounds off girl! Last year at this time I was twenty pounds lighter and at my goal! Oh well the good thing about that is I was there and I know I can get there again. You know once I get into the swing of healthy eating and excercise I stick with it. I just have to stay at it awhile and not get frusterated with myself.

Dips I wanted to Thank You for the Christmas gift. You are awesome! How is the pup? And everything else?

Noelle how are you? I miss chatting with you. OUCH about your knee, that sounds terribly painful. But you are right....I am glad you don't need surgery. My Mil had knee surgery last Sept. and she is still in pain. She regrets having it done. She has a total replacement though. Cool about Regis and Kelly, I will have to tune in when I get time to watch! What a trip that is.

Hi Red!

And hello to anyone else I missed. We may go bowling this weekend. We took the kids a couple of times over Christmas break and it was a blast. I had not done it about 10-15 years but it was fun. I probally looked like the biggest dork but I don't care, haha. Other than that just shopping and making a healthy menu for suppers this week. Have a wonderful weekend!

melekalikimaka 01-07-2006 01:07 AM

Hi girls. I am nursing my sore knee and foot after I went on my regular walk....stupid of me, I guess, but I figure I better do what I can before I have to start therapy . I am getting scared of being instructed NOT to walk like I have been to let my knee heal. I guess I will have to try and do some weights instead and find something new to do for cardio. That sucks. Walking is so easy and enjoyable too... i have been feeling munchy, and we took down the Christmas tree and ornaments and I had to look through bags of chocolates and cookies and basically just junk food that is still around. I ate some candied pecans that someone made and they were so good. I don't know how to count them but I know they are loaded with fat and calories so I am using some flex points for that. I did walk yesterday and today, but I am feeling it. I start therapy 3X a week starting next Monday.

 Julie!! So glad you popped in again. We're not mad you didn't post, just a little worried  Hey, this is a new year for all of us and we can all set some goals and achieve them together! Have fun bowling if you go. I haven't been since the 7th grade  Sounds like a fun thing to do with family though, gotta love the shoes, eh?

Red, you are such a kind-hearted person to take in that cat. I don't know how people can be so cruel to animals like that, or to just ignore them when they are obviously in need of help. How is the kitty recovering?

Cherie, doesn't Nutrisystem have a 1 month free trial if you buy one month? So it's like 2 months worth of food, I think. I did the plan about 11--12 years ago, it was a pretty much no-brainer and I lost 30 pounds in about 8 weeks--of course I was 22 years old and my metabolism was on fire once I got into exercising... but I think with 2 mos. worth of food you could lose a lot of weight. My sis has a box full of food but so far she hasn't started yet. Have fun with your girls getting pampered this weekend. That sounds great!

Kempy, I buy the 4-pack of lean cuisines at Costco for quick lunches. I always either have a side salad or some steamed veggies to really round out the meal though. Those aren't enough to fill me up alone. If you like easy meals, you can even buy boneless chicken breasts and just marinate them for broiling, or same thing with a bag of frozen salmon filets. Quick, easy and pretty low in points. Sandwiches or wraps are easy lunches too. Check out the WW website for recipe ideas--I love some of the desserts. :hun: Oh yeah about the sushi--for me that's almost twice a week :sumo:

Angie, that's a crock of bull they gave you about not letting you adopt the cat. Are they implying that this ragdoll cat not ever go outside? What a miserable life that would be for him. You are one of the most compassionate pet owners I have ever known and would make the best mom to any pet ever.

Dips, how ya doing girl? Is NYC still freezing? Are you on break from school or did you have to go back? Miss your upbeat attitude around here.

:hug:Cal, are you back to 100%?

So does anyone have plans for the weekend? Rick and I may catch a John Lovitz comedy show tomorrow. That should be funny, yeah, that's the ticket. Anywho, chat more tomorrow. Enjoy your weekends.

angieME 01-07-2006 08:56 AM

Okay today is weigh day so I am counting it. I lost one pound of the bloat with the start of my period but that still puts me with a 1 pound gain. WOW, I have never had a period make me gain and hold like that. I dont like it one bit.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!

melekalikimaka 01-07-2006 11:47 AM

Good morning :sunny: I am still hobbling around so I think I'll just hang out at home today (so I can rest up to go out tonight  )

Angie, a gain sucks but you are still doing GREAT!!! :bravo: You are being accountable and weighing in anyway and posting here so I give you credit for that. I am a firm believer in the evils of water retention and TOM. You will drop that pound and he will take some of his friends by next week. Don't be discouraged. At WW they say, nobody will lose weight every week. For women and their periods they can even gain--but just keep staying on the right track and everything will even out.

Shoot, I remember last time there was this one lady in our group, I think we started at the same time--she lost weight for 16 consecutive weeks. Most of the rest of us had already either had maintains or even gained sometime during the 16 weeks. Anyway, on the 17th week W/I, she actually gained a pound. She was shocked, but everyone else was applauding because she seemed more 'human' like us . I guess we're evil b*tches huh? Seriously though, it's human physiology that makes us have water gain like that during TOM. Get past it and move on. :strong: Ok, off my soapbox now :soap:

Kempyd 01-07-2006 03:43 PM

Good Staurday morning everyone. I woke up to frost all over the gound. It lookes like it snowed a little even though it didn't. I think it got down to 25 last night. BRRRRRR. I was all snuggly in bed with Rhea though. (Joe is hunting) I finally got my butt moving today and took Rhea for a walk. I feel better now that I did too. I have had a good eating day too so that puts me in a better mood.

Angie Noelle said what I was going to say. I usually have water weight for a few days after I start. I hate it too. The one time that I didn't gain for TOM was when I wasn't eating so much sugar. I have been trying to start that with WW so I will tell you if it works next month. You are doing great though so don't give up.

Julie it is so good to see you and thanks for the complement about Joe and I. People say we look like brother and sister. I really don't see it and I have tried to find it. I mean I now we live in the south but I can promise we aren't related.

Noelle I just found out how much I love pita bread. I can have a whole loaf of it and it is only 2pts. Have you tried the FF Pringles? They have a Jalapeno flavor and it is awesome. I love spicy foods!!! What things should I steer clear of in the sushi department? That is one or the hardest things for me to figure out.

I hope everyone is having a great Saturday and I will hop on later.

Dips'n'twists 01-07-2006 10:56 PM

Hi my Gurlz

Okay, let me just say that i SWEAR I posted earlier this week but then whe n I was going through thte pages I didn't see it at all so I guess it didn't stick. How weird. Anyways sorry for the absence...

Kempy- You're still lovely as ever. You have that same smile that can light up all of louisianna. But I know how you feel about the extra pounds. I put on a couple myself this holiday season but not too much. Anyways, you and Joe will do just fine. Can't wait to peep the new you!

Noelle- My love I am so sorry about your injury. :( Hope you get better soon. You are doing so very well. Funny story about that chick at WW. yeah that was pretty evil but I would've been right there with you.BTW those vegas pics are fabulous! So is your boy with his litle gigerbread house!

Cherie- How are you and your beauties? That includes the pup. Hope you had a fabulous New Year. Mine was pretty darn good! I go back to class at the end of the month so I'm just relaxin these days :)

Red- Hugs to you. Hope everything is okay with you.

Angie- Don't you dare let that pound kick your spirit in the ***. You are still fabulous and you are still doing well. Don't change a thing!

J- I've been MIA as well. Lack of sunlight can bring your mood down. We need light just as well as the flowers and animals. I'll send you some sun from NY. That's all we have to offer by the way. It's sunny but cold. So I got you on the light, call Kempy for the temp

Cal- Glad you liked he gift. Miss chatting with you.

I think that's everybody. If I missed you I am so sorry. I FINALLY developed those pics from my B-Day so I'll post them in a bit....
