Melly I updated the ticker with your 2 lb. loss! We are almost there everyone!

mellyann 12-21-2005 01:47 PM

Michelle - I am 5'6. I haven't seen the 30's since high school so I'm not sure how realistic 132 is for me, but I want to get pregnant this coming fall and would like to be on the lower side because I know I'll probably gain about 40 lbs. Plus I want to wear cute maternity clothes this time, like from Peapod. Not huge old navy xxl garb.

Hi everyone,

I guess I haven't written in a couple of days.

I agree with Lori about the holidays - at this point I just want to maintain and not gain any weight. I can be pretty good about not binge eating right now, as I have so much to do that I don't have much time to eat.

10 days with the in-laws - wow, good luck with that. I'm spending like 3 with mine and that's plenty enough for me. Both of his sisters are very tiny (like size 4 or something) and next to them I feel like Jabba the Hut. I totally know what you are saying.

Good luck with weight loss and the holiday craziness everyone!

Take care.

Lisa

Bear with me trying to write with a sick one year old attached to you is a bit difficult.:( Sick on his birthday, poor little guy.

If I don't get to excersizing, I'll just be maintaining over the holidays. I did walk the stairs at work and had a 45 minute walk yesterday but other than that nada. I have been good about what I eat so I think I am o.k. We will see Friday. And no Thai food (or Thai waiters) Thursday so no excess water.

Do you gals want to do the Dicovery Health Challenge together? Sign up starts Dec 30 and the program starts January 14th?

:cheer:Way to go Mellyann. 2.5 pounds a week is right on goal and a healthy pace when losing weight.

Tonkasmom, I like Suzy Orman as well. It is funny because when I see her show on CNBC, I feel a bit uncomfortable like she knows my financial secrets. Our goal this year is to cut costs and save more. I have horrible student loans that are a big part of my problem. My vow is that Oliver will never have this monkey on his back and we will be able to send him to college free and clear through med/vet/graduate school just not law school. That is where I draw the line. I'll check out my local library for one her books. I have 2 weeks off from work and need to use it wisely. Prepping for all my New Year's Resolutions.

I feel great today. And in general a very upbeat and optimistic person. Yesterday just collapsed on itself.

Oh and by the way, I was attempting to wear a very comfy but very large pair of maternity cords just before I made the committment to lose weight. Buy yourself some clothes. Although my husband hates them I love Target and OldNavy clothes. And while I am in transition I am not buying anything expensive unless it is a pair of shoes.

Well, Professor Fussbottom is getting restless,

Hey all! Major shopping completed. I still have to get stocking stuffers, but that's pretty easy. SO everything is wrapped and under the tree. I actually shopped for, wrapped, labelled, and put under the tree my own presents. IS that weird?

Amanda- I'm willing to sign up for the Discovery Health challenge thing if everyone else wants to.

Lisa- My sils are small too, not tiny sizes 4s but much thinner than me. I'm working on that not being true by next year though!

OBsMama 12-21-2005 09:38 PM

It's my radiator:( Cracked, leaking kaputy!!!!Merry Christmas:snowball:

But something good came out of it. Spencer and I had a real heart to heart about our finances and we are both committed to making a New Year's Resolution of being more frugal.

Money sucks!!!!!

Michelle, if you bought your own presents you are sure to like what Santa brought you. No returning:hohoho:

Amanda

stagemomx3 12-21-2005 11:18 PM

:hohoho: I will definetly not be returning what Santa got me. :gift2: I will refrain from listing what I got until I actually do open my gifts on Christmas.

Amanda- Bummer about your radiator! :( It's good you and DH had a heart to heart though. I guess, I avoid those like the plague!:o

And  yes "Money sucks"

Count me in on the discovery program....let me know what group to register for.

I agree with and Michelle Kimberlee, I went shopping yesterday and bought myself an outfit that made me feel good, I shouldn't have at this time of year but I needed it for my own piece of mind. It just made me feel better about myself becuase when I look in the mirror all I see is the extra 10 pounds. (i'm sure they are all on my face!! :))

Michelle, I honestly don't think that 'healthly weights' given by the doctors take into account our muscle mass or bone structure. When I lost my first 25 lbs, I dropped from a size 18 to a size 12/13, which looked considerable (I'm 5'6" and have an athletic frame and large bone structure)and according to WW I still had another 55 lbs to lose to get to their ideal weight. I'm striving for 160 now but if I feel and look great at 170 or even 180 I'll stop even though by the BMI standards I'll still be overweight.

Anyways DS's concert last night was a blast, he looked so cute. Well gotta start my baking today, no nibbles or tastes today!

Always,
Dawn

Good morning everyone!

 Amanda! I'm sorry to hear about your radiator. Money worries are the worst, aren't they? Just keep thinking that this time next year, you will no longer have money worries! Budgets are like diets, no one likes to do them, but boy do they make a difference in how you feel:D

I have an infection in a tooth I had a root canal in 4 years ago. The good news is that the antibiotic I'm on a) I'm required to drink a ton of water and b) makes my stomach a little upset so I'm less inclined to want to eat, much less overeat. Always a silver lining!!

Other than that everything is going well. Oh, I would love to join the Discovery Health Challenge. In fact, I was planning on doing it before I came to 3fatchicks. In a weird way, I'm really looking forward to Christmas being over with (that and the new root canal:( ) so that I can focus on my weight loss without distractions or temptations......

Have a good Thursday!
Nancy

Merry Christmas!

:rudolph: :santa:

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to drop a quick note before the end of the day. I'm going to be away until December 27th (won't be online).

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and enjoy your time off from work (I certainly will be!).

Good luck with the families and sick kids (poor baby!) and all of that Santa stuff. I still have alot of shopping to do (yes, I'm a big procrastinator!!).

Take care. I'll pop back in next week.

Lisa

stagemomx3 12-22-2005 12:06 PM

:carrot: Down 2 pounds :goodscale this week! :carrot: That makes 6 pounds since Thanksgiving, not the 11 I wanted, but a nice amount non the less!

Lisa- We'll miss you! Have a Merry Christmas! :ginger:and :newyear:

Nancy- I'm also strangely looking forward to Christmas being over, so that I can really focus on weight loss without all the temptations.:tread:

Dawn- :bravo: I'm so glad you bought yourself a new outfit!

:barbell: Discovery Challenge- Chelle, Nancy, Amanda, Michelle, anybody else interested? Amanda will you be in charge of letting us know when to sign up, etc.

:gossip: Happy Thursday! Only 3 more sleeps until Santa comes! :hohoho:

losethirtysomething 12-22-2005 12:40 PM

Updated the ticker, we are so close to a group loss of 30 pounds for this month!

hellokittyfan 12-22-2005 01:40 PM

It's me again!

Michelle - congrats on the weight loss! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, too!

I have to say, this lady at the gym really made me mad today. I commented that I hadn't seen weight loss on the scale yet, only in my clothes. She said well you have to diet, too. I was so mad. Guess she assumed I just workout and don't diet?? Why do people say such dumb things.

Sorry to vent, just irritated.

Take care.

Lisa :carrot:

stagemomx3 12-22-2005 03:21 PM

Lisa- All you have to do is smile at the stupid people! Just smile really sweetly and say "Why thank you, I really should have thought of that." The stupid person will not know if you are sincere or you think they are an idiot!
