The threads are really busy at the moment. All those new year resolutions and LindaT's chatty Forum etc. I see from Ruthxxx thread that there are changes coming to signatures, in that we may only see it once a day from now on. Don't know how that works but its okay. Some of the siggies are huge!
We had a doozy of a thunderstorm last night. Much lightning and thunder and rain like someone upstairs was dumping bucketfuls at a time. Should that be bucketsful? I have no doubt there has been damage somewhere and some people will be without power overnight or today. I need to go check out the news shortly. Pity it didn't cut power around here as a neighbour across the road had a bit of a fling last night and the music was truly awful and truly LOUD. Still they did tone it down around 11pm as per the laws around the joint and they don't do it often, in fact they have never done it before so I won't complain too much. A bit of banging around the front yard today may not go astray though.
Yesterday I took my lawnmower to the repairman as it had a bad case of indigestion. Funny looks in my direction. Remember the saga of the lawnmower six or so months back? I did state that I KNEW it had fuel this time and that the oil seemed to be okay (shades of Happy wrecking a mower long ago - see I remembered that) and that I thought it maybe the spark plug. Funny looks in my direction. No, it is more likely the filter spongy thingy he said and promptly unscrewed it. Now DS2 looked at that and cleaned it for me and the result was the same indigestion. I said that there had been a fair amount of dry dusty mowing so maybe it was clogged up somewhere. Probably the filter he said again. But the filter was looking good. It's only six months old said I. More funny looks. Finally he had to give in and check out the spark plug. It is running a bit rich he says about the blackened sparky - don't know about that as it keeps me poor says I! More funny looks. Replace spark plug, pull cord, runs like a very noisy dream. Couldn't have been the filter then could it? $6.00 please. Next........
Tig - nice play on words there. Thai'd one on......

What is your favourite sushi then? I like the temaki (sp?) sushi where they bring out a whole raft of fillings and the nori and you basically make your own. Enjoy the long weekend, they come seldon enough. You two really crack me up. So much like my own parents in the retirement years of their lives (not that I think you are about to keel over) when they took SKI (Spend the Kids Inheritance) to the nth degree and spent a lot time away from home visiting and playing bowls and enjoying themselves and really living without the kids. It's great and I'm all for it.
Madcat - way to go on the exercise. I'm keeping up with 5x a week as well so its all good. Okay, so the outfit is not going to be white. What colour are we thinking of? My friends daughter said that no way was she going to be in white as it did nothing for her at all, besides which was contrived and artificial as to meaning, and walked up the aisle in a strapless fitted dress made from an Indian silk sari material in bright red and gold. It looked gorgeous.
Meadow - you still walking? I think you must be the mistress of understatement on the thread.
Happy - Glad to hear you are getting back to your old self again. Take care after all those anitbiotics since your resistance will be down somewhat for a week or so. Don't want to have to do it all over again. As for the anti-inflammatories - well you have to do what you have to do. I'm sure you will work out the correct dosage soon.
Don't know how the DB2 will react after the event. Maybe it will become a habit to live on next to nothing. Well we can hope can't we?
Ceejay - it is nice to have good neighbours and even better if you know who they are!
Mel - this chick is not that subtle as to have a handy baseball bat lying around. A quick bash across the side of the head with a piece of 4x2 with nails in the end gets the message across faster! You are going well with the exercises - just take is slowly and don't overdo it, you hear. The words 'bull at a gate' come to mind sometimes with you. You and DS2 should get on well together. He can't do things by halves either. Either he is horizontal on the couch doing a bit of Maori PT and watching the tv through the back of his eyelids, or he is flat out doing whatever has to be done in the shortest possible time.
Hiya Turtle - way to go on that exercise. You just gotta sweat. No point in doings something and ending up looking just as you started. There is obviously no effort put in there. Sweat is good.
Holly - that is a terrible excuse for not posting pictures.
Painter - sounds like you are getting it back together. And here is a pat on the back 'pat' 'pat'

for not snacking at midnight. Believe me I know all about #$%^ insurance companies and their quest for getting as much out of you without giving anything back. Surely they have on file your credentials?
Sorry, can't send rain as we need all we can get here. You will have to do your own rain dance I'm afraid. None of this rain is falling in our catchment areas - do you get the impression that the catchment areas may be in the wrong place? But at least it waters the garden. Makes digging somewhat easier as well.
I'm still on the wagon as far as food, exercise and water goes. Yesterday I made an incredible Chicken Curry Laksa for my lunches. Its full of spices and vegetables, noodles and herbs. The recipe came from my new low fat cookbook and is only 8g of fat and 225 calories and is very filling. I have enough for the next 4 days as well.
The water is over the 2 litre a day mark, often around the 3 litre mark but not less than 2.4 litres since that is 4x 600mls bottles (600mls is a pint) so thats going okay.
Exercise is doing okay as well, although I may have to change the routine shortly as it is getting mundane. I've added in the abs and crunches to the gym workouts as well.
However with all this good stuff, I have also added a kilo. I think it is water weight as I can see I am holding a bit. I think it is the summer weather. I seem to soak up fluids like a sponge despite the running to the loo and the big sweats both in the garden and the gym. I can see it in the wrists especially at the moment. The diuretic doesn't seem to be working as well as it should.
Okay, there were other things I thought of to say but hey, no doubt I will think of them again. See ya.
PS - Lisa I see you have snuck in while I was chatting up a storm. Nice to have you back.
