Hi again :)

My water intake has improved but I am nowhere near where I should be with that. I have had around 48 oz a day this week which isnt alot, but I had gotten where most days I actually had ZERO water.

So far I have had no major side effects from the diet pills. I have had some headaches, but I had one the morning before I took the first pill too though so may not have anything to do with them. The only thing I really notice is that I do have to have water. If I havent had any for awhile at work, I start to feel weird but as soon as I've had a bottle of water, I feel fine. I guess that's good because it reminds me to drink it. I havent had any of my diet vanilla cokes from Sonic this week which is a big accomplishment. I was pretty skeptical because I've never been a believer in diet pills but honestly, these really do curb my appetite. I have a couple pieces of toast before I go to work and eating usually doesnt cross my mind again until way up in the day, after 3:00 or so. At least the stress eating has stopped for now. I havent had one snack at work or between meals at all since I started on them Wednesday.

Emjay, congrats on the 2 lbs lost this week! I'm hoping to join ya this next week.

Well, I better run. Have a great Memorial Day!

It's me again:D

Hubby's watching TV, one son is on a date and the other has company and they are outside playing with the dog so I actually got another chance to post.

I am still amazed that these pills have really curbed my appetite. The reason I never wanted to get any was because I thought, "What good will an appetite suppressant do if I"m not eating because I'm hungry anyway? I eat because it's there and I want it." Since taking these tho, it really does take away that 'crave' for something. I was very skeptical but now I'm hopeful that I will get back on track with this little push in the right direction.

I hope everyone had a nice Memorial Weekend. :) I have LOVED having a long weekend myself. We are grilling burgers tomorrow at my in-laws. I'm glad we're just doing that instead of having a big meal.

Well, I think I'll go join hubby on the couch. I'll be back when I can.

Ok, girls...I'm getting a complex. I finally get a chance to get in here more and nobody else shows up!:( I hope ya'll check in soon...it's getting lonesome in here.

I may try to run to the doctor's office tomorrow to weigh on their scales. Tomorrow will be a week since I've started taking the Addipex. I dont feel any smaller. In fact, I still feel disgusting. My clothes are sooo tight! I'd have to lose 20 lbs probably to even tell in my clothes. Honestly I dont know how I've continued to squeeze into them. With uniforms tho, I have no choice. We get them and we have to wear them for 2 yrs. I am 30+ lbs more than when we first got these!! It's a miracle in itself that I've been able to get in them. I'm not saying it's a pretty sight..just that I'm still in them. I start shedding clothes the minute I walk in the door when I get home so I can finally breathe!

Well, Guess the ironing isnt going to get done unless I get off here so I better go for now. Hope to hear from everyone soon.

Miki

Good Morning Everyone.

I'm here, I'm here!

Wow Miki I'm impressed. Look at all the posts. Sounds like you are trying really hard to be in the right frame of mind. Whatever you do don't give up. You'll get there and before you know it those uniforms will be hanging off you.

I'm still trying to get caught up after having 4 days off from work. Well I thought I would share my good news/bad news.
Bad news is that I have no loss to report this week. Definitly didn't try very hard over the holiday weekend. But I'm back on track now.
Good news is that yesterday I found out that I won the WeightLoss Challenge at work. We started a challenge back on March 1st and May 26th was the last day. I was on cloud 9 yesterday because by winning I walked away with $400.00 in hand. I think I'll hold on to the money until I hit the 200 mark, that's only 17 more pounds, then I can go on a mini shopping spree.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far.
Hope to talk to you soon.

MikiG 05-31-2006 07:58 PM

Congratulations on winning the contest at work, Leec! Wow, $400! Now that's what I call incentive!!:D

I went to the doctor's office at lunch today so I could use their scales. I lost 5 lbs!:carrot: I started taking those pills a week ago today so I'm definitely encouraged to hang in there.

I am going to try to add exercise in the next few days. I got out of it when I tore my rotator cuff back in January and just never have gotten back into my routine. I think I'm going to start with the Walk Away the Pounds video so I dont have to do much arm work to start out.

Emjay, how is your week going so far? Hope you had a good holiday weekend.

Hoosierlady and Cheeky, hope to hear from ya'll soon!

Miki

emjay71 05-31-2006 10:15 PM

Miki, Congrats on the weight loss, I guess those pills do work. It will be interesting to see if you can continue at that pace or if your body adjusts like most diets. Hopefully you can keep going. What type of uniform do you have to wear to work? That would be so discouraging for me to have that stress of fitting into something for 2 yrs, it would probably make me eat. Good luck on getting back into your excercise routine, I know you can do it. I myself have been having a hard time fitting in my excercise. I worked everyday over the holiday weekend including Monday (yuck) and also worked Tues., Wed., and tomorrow. I don't have a day off till Friday. So that is my excuse but I have to get back into the swing of things.

Leec, Wow, I am so jealous about the $400. I'm with Miki, that is great incentive. Keep going and then put that money toward some cute (smaller) clothes for the summer. We didn't choose a goal for this week. We could do a short one for the weekend. What do you think? Like not eat anything after 7PM???? Oh yeah, I maintained this week too. Better than a gain anyday.

Hello to everyone else, hope you get back here soon.

MJ

MikiG 06-02-2006 08:02 AM

Hi MJ. Sorry to hear you had to work the entire weekend..yuck for sure. About my uniforms...I work at a bank so it's the typical bank uniforms I have to wear. Dress pants, jacket and blouse. The jackets that I used to wear buttoned now cannot anyway near meet at the middle. I feel and look ridiculous!!!! Some blouses are the shell type but others are button up shirts and it's not as bad if I"m standing up, but when I sit down, the buttons are about to pop off. They actually gape open and you can see skin between them if I"m not careful!! Talk about disgusting!! Thanks goodness my desk is pretty high so I can kinda hide behind it. I despise having to even walk across the lobby in those things. I literally have gone from 189lbs at the time of ordering them to 228 the day I started the pills. All I can say is they must use darn good material! Another lady I work is has gained the same amount as me so at least I have someone to be miserable with. One day she got in the car to come to work and when she sat down, her pants split. She had to go back in and sew them up before she could come to work. On that same day, I sat down that afternoon at my desk and a button literally flew off my shirt and shot underneath my desk. I dont mean it just fell into my lap, I mean it FLEW underneath to the back corner of my desk! It had held on as long as it could.:dizzy:

I'm sure the pills' effect will not continue to be as much after a little while. I know several people who have used these and most lost around 30 lbs in 2-3 months. I doubt I even take them that long. I mainly just wanted to get my mindset back right and I was to the point where all I did was think about food. I ate it (way too much of it) then I'd be mad at myself and discouraged so I'd eat something else. The pills somehow affect the part of your brain concerning hunger so you literally don't crave food the way you did before. A few people said they literally had to force themselves to eat because they had no appetite whatsoever. Well, I can assure you I've never felt that way and dont expect to. lol

I'm willing to try not to eat after 7 this weekend. That's a good habit to get into anyway.

Well, I should already be in the shower getting ready for work. I'll check back soon.

Miki

emjay71 06-02-2006 11:31 AM

Miki,
None of the banks around here do uniforms, they just have to dress professionally in clothing of their choosing. I'm sorry to say it but I was laughing when I was reading your post about pants splitting and buttons flying. I know it is not funny and if it were me I would not be laughing. I can't beleive the company you work for has not rethought the policy of wearing uniforms you can only order every two years, I bet the corporate jerks wear what they want. It would be the same for someone who lost weight, the uniforms would still look unprofessional hanging off someone. I can't help but thinking that they have to be violating some kind of law by making you come to work everyday like that.

Okay I'm with you, nothing to eat past 7 all weekend... I know in the past that rule of thumb has really helped me to lose weight. I was watching Oprah the other day and she had Matthew McConahay (however you spell it)on, I think he is very yummy. Anyway he was saying that he typically does not eat dinner till midnight and I was thinking as much as I would want to I could never be married to him. I would be as big as a barn. lol.

Oh yeah I was also giggling about you saying that people on this drug have actually had to force themselves to eat. Don't you hate the people who say they just forget to eat? Who forgets to eat? I saw a movie once that had a line in it, "It's a special kind of stupid when you forget to eat". I don't remember what movie it was but it was funny.

I just found out I may be going to the sold-out Kenny Chesney concert tonight:carrot: so I have to go and get a bunch of stuff done. I'm so excited.

Talk to everyone later!

MJ

Angel33 06-02-2006 12:02 PM

Ok,Miki I have to admit that I too got a kick out of the uniforms story. We will just hope that you don't encounter anymore wardrobe malfunctions. I know it's not funny but it made me giggle. I used to work for company about eight years ago that required us to wear company issued business suits, I hated it.

MJ-Hope you get to go to the KC concert. Sounds like fun.

Well girls I'm sorry to say that I can't join you on not eating after 7pm. My husband works late and we almost never eat dinner before 7:30, which may not be so good but that's the one thing in 15years that we've always done together.
Good Luck though!

Talk to you later

MikiG 06-03-2006 12:06 PM

Glad ya'll got a laugh at my expense:p ;) lol

As far as the uniforms, we did for a few years get to wear our own clothes but people abused that and got less and less professional in what they wore. Thankfully in the last few weeks, they have allowed us to substitute the blouses for our own. Our pants and jackets have to match but we can wear any shirt, style or color, with them. That helps. When we first ordered these uniforms, I loved them and they were actually flattering. That was when I had first lost the weight. Now I despise them. (oh and you're right..the MEN wear their own clothes)

I almost blew it last night on the challenge. Around 7:30 I was heading for a sugar free jello and remembered right before I opened it. I put it back.

MJ, did you get to go to the concert? If so, I know you had a good time. Phil and I are going to Dallas to see Journey and Def Leppard in July. I havent been to many country concerts. Only Alabama I think and that was 25 yrs ago.

Leec, eating dinner together is a good thing too so we'll excuse you from this weekend's challenge ok? Life is hectic so we have to find any minute we can to spend time with our families.

Well, I want to accomplish some things today rather than just sit around all day so I better get off here. Hope you both have a great weekend

Miki

emjay71 06-04-2006 02:54 PM

Miki, I did pretty well w/ not eating after 7. I worked until 8:20 last night and had a small bite to eat when I got home though but other than that it was good. Well I'm glad you don't have to wear the button popping shirts anymore. My concert was great. I have seen Journey and Def Lepard probably in the past 5 years. They were both good, you should enjoy that. But nothing gets the blood pumping like a Kenny Chesney concert.

Leec, Hope your weekend is going well. What should we do for this weeks challenge???

MJ

MikiG 06-04-2006 09:23 PM

I made it not eating after 7 all weekend up to now. But right now it's 8:15 and I"m really wanting something. Not sure if I'll resist or not. If not, it'll just be popcorn or jello. I shouldnt have anything tho because it's not that I'm starving..I just want a snack!

I'd like to get back into the habit of writing down what I eat. When I lost weight before, I always logged everything into Fitday.com so I always knew for sure how many calories I used each day. Maybe I'll get back to that eventually..I've done pretty well this week posting here and I never thought I could find the time for that either.

Emjay, glad you had a good time at the concert! I love going to concerts. We dont have many near here tho...we have to drive at least 2 hrs anytime we go to one. We went to see 38 Special, 3 Dog Night, Chicago and Earth, Wind and Fire last year. I went to see Air Supply also but it got rained out.

Leec, how did your weekend go? Good I hope.

Well, ya'll have a good Monday!

Miki

Angel33 06-05-2006 09:39 AM

Good Morning Ladies,

Happy Monday!!

Miki-Good Job at resisting at the movies.
Also I use Fitday and I love it. Sometimes it is a pain to go in a log everything, but it does make a huge difference when I can see it in black and white.

MJ-Glad you enjoyed your concert. Sounds like a lot of fun. I haven't been to a concert in a few years.

Well girls I had an awesome weekend. Lots of stuff to do with the family. Saturday we had a family reunion and Sunday we had dh's company picnic. We had a blast and my 2 1/2 year old daughter was so good, which makes things so much easier.
Well back to the grind.

Talk to you later.

emjay71 06-05-2006 09:51 AM

Hi girls,

Well I weighed in this am and I maintained again, better than a gain I guess plus I didn't have to go thru the effort of changing my tracker. Glad everyone had a good weekend. Well I started the day off right w/ a 1 mile watp, it was supposed to be 2 miles but I got called away on some business my husband and I have been dealing with. My goal for the week is excercise at least 5 out of the 7 days this week. Hope everyone joins me, although I think Leec is already doing that (good for you Leec). I have to admit I have not been excercising more than I have. And I know I don't lose weight w/o it (hence the 2 wks of maintaining). Miki, good for you on posting. We all now how important the accountability and support are... Well got to rush around to go to work.

MJ

Angel33 06-06-2006 01:10 PM

Hi MJ and Miki,

Well girls I'm happy to report a 2lb loss for this week. Yippee:carrot:

I'm down with the exercise challenge. I am actually shooting for 8 workouts this week. We'll see what happens. I know I will do at least 5.

Hope you guys are having a great day.
Talk to you later.
