We just have a mutt but she is adorable - her name is Missy. Pets are so much fun, aren't they?

Hey girls! Anyone else do this - I do good Mon-Thur and then seem to blow it on the weekends and it is so frustrating cause I try really hard during the week so I don't know why I do this to myself. I did order some Fit n Free pizza off the internet - it isn't too bad and it is only 3 points! I top it with tons of veges (peppers, tomatoes, artichokes, red onion, garlic) that I stir fry in some Pam while the pizza is cooking and then top the pizza with those. It is yummy - hopefully a cure for pizza addition on the weekends.

I read this week also about the Wendie plan regarding Weight Watcher points. You alternate the point value each day tricking your body into not getting use to the same amount of food intake each day regarding points/calories. They say this can help you get off a plateau. I'll let you know how it works if I start losing weight again!!

I'm curious to see also if my chlosterol goes up when I get my blood work done on the 26th. We raise chickens and I've been eating eggs every day - they satisfy my hunger on my salad at lunchtime & I eat them alot for breakfast. From experience, has anyone seen their chlosterol levels go up because of these?

I'm excited - I've just completed my 16th week of exercising 4 days a week on a consistent basis!!!! This has always been a challenge for me cause I have 2 bad knees. Thanks for listening to me rattle on. Pass on any advice you have or recipes!!! Have a good day girls!

Cheeky chick,

I do find that I do better during the week and mess up more on the weekend. My husband and I are more apt to eat out on the weekends and I am more apt to drink socially then too (which is real bad I know). My cholesterol always goes down when I lose a considerable amt. of weight and I eat eggs fairly frequently. I am on a Kashi cereal kick right now but in the past when I lost 70 lbs. I probably ate eggs 3 - 4 times per week. A trick I use w/ eggs is if I'm eating them scrambled or in an omelet I only use 1 whole egg and the rest egg whites. If my info is correct the fat and cholesterol is only in the yellows. Occassionally I will eat an egg white omelet. Never tried the pizza you mentioned but I love pizza and usually splurge on it once every 1 or 2 weeks. It is a real "red light" food for me so I try to eat it infrequently. I usually go right for the good stuff too (pizza hut). Congratulations on the excercising, you are doing a real good job. I walked 3 miles outside yesterday and today and will also do so tomorrow. I need to make it a bigger habit again and not so off and on. Well talk to you later.

"HI" to everyone else too.

Good day ladies! I had pizza hut last night so hopefully I've gotten my pizza fix out of the way for the week instead of having it on Fridays. I like to weigh in on Tuesdays and this a way I'll have that "fix" over with way before hand. I had strawberries this morning from the Amish, they were so yummy. I also did the ARC trainer for 30 min this morning and burned 412 calories during that time. Yippee!! I have been keeping my journal faithfully, even when I overeat, so I can see a pattern on weight loss/gain and my feelings at the time. Day by day, step by step is the way, right? Hope you are having a good day - health wise and food wise too! Keep in touch.

emjay71 05-19-2006 09:50 AM

Hoosierlady, Welcome back. Well if you are struggling it is glad that you found your way back to us, we can help hopefully. I feel like I have been struggling to stay on track as well, it is a challenge everyday. I a lot of days I have been losing the fight.

Cheeky chick, I bet the pizza hut was delicious. I think you are right eating it in the middle of the week is better, gives you more time to repent. Weekends have been a problem for me lately so I am making an effort this weekend to stay on track. Wish me luck!

I'd love to lose another 10 to 20 lbs. b4 summer is in full swing. Anybody up for some friendly competition? Something like a weightloss contest for another 10 lbs.? Let me know!

Happy Friday Ladies,

It's been a really crazy week for me. Lots of commotion at work to deal with. I've done so so this week as far as eating. One of my coworkers/friends has left the company after 8 years. So needless to say there were 2 lunch outings and a huge potluck yesterday. I tried my best to stay under control, but its hard. Also didn't get in as much exercise as I would like so I'll need to step it up a notch.
Cheeky, glad you enjoyed your pizza. I too had pizza on Wednesday and oh was it delicious. I was good though. I only had two small pieces. It's funny though my 2 year old ate 5 pieces. On some days she eats more than I do. Which is good because usually she eats like a bird and just picks over her food.
MJ, I am totally up for a little competition. It sounds like everyone could use a little challenge to pick up the pace. Any ideas?
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I just wish it would stop raining so that I could do something fun outside.

emjay71 05-19-2006 10:20 PM

Leec,

I was thinking maybe we could start our competition on Monday and each week set a new goal. For example, drink 8 glasses of water per day, excercise 5 out of 7 days, add a new excercise, eat a fruit and veggie everyday, etc. And at the end of 4 weeks see who lost the most and also see if we formed any new habits. I know you probably won't see this till Monday AM so how about if we start w/ the water goal and the following Monday we can add a new goal??? Hopefully everyone else will join us...

It finally stopped raining here but is supposed to resume Saturday night, yuck.

Hi all! Welcome Cheeky chick! :)

Sorry I havent been in here in so long. I really am going to somehow find time to get here more. Well, I'm still not on track at all. Actually I gave up and went to the doctor today and asked for some prescription weightloss pills. I've never used pills before. I've always believed that only diet and exercise was the healthy way to go. BUT I got so discouraged about gaining that I just ate more and have been out of control. I'm hoping this will give me a jumpstart back into a healthier routine. Being overweight cant be any worse than taking these pills for a month. I dont plan on staying on them long. I just want to see the scale budge so I can get in a better frame of mind. For me, it has always been more a mindset thing than a diet thing.

Sounds like the rest of you are doing well. I've missed you all!! MJ, your competition sounds like a good idea. I've got to take time to get all caught up on reading the posts, but I noticed that one. What's this week's competition?

Well, better run for now. Take care all!

Miki

Hi ladies,
Just checking to see how everyone is doing.

MJ-How are you doing with you water intake this week? So far for me I have been drinking about 70oz. of water a day. Well actually 16oz of it is sometimes Crystal Light. I make them in an individual water bottle and then pop them in the freezer for a couple of hours. It turns slushy and that's what I usually have for dessert.

Miki-So glad to see your back. We all hope to hear from you more often as well. Somehow, someway I know you'll get back on track. Maybe the prescription from you Dr. will help to give you a kick start. Good luck to you.

CheekyChick and Hosierlady-How are you guys doing? Are you still hanging in there with us?

Have a great evening everyone.
Talk to you soon.

emjay71 05-24-2006 06:19 PM

Leec, I have been shooting for 64 oz. per day and coming real close. Does crystal light count for water intake, I'm trying to remember what the WW rule was, I think it does. I have been drinking that too, the pink lemonade. Which one do you like? Well I lost 2 lbs. when I weighed in Monday, thank goodness I didn't gain again. I walked 3 miles outdoors w/ a friend today, 72 degrees and humid made it difficult at 3 in the afternoon. I got the cardio workout tape from McDonalds the other day when I ordered a salad, I might try it tonight or tomorrow. Have you ever tried those? Well off to drink more water.

Miki, Glad you are back. Which pill did you doc prescribe? Just curious. We are doing water intake this week in the contest.

CC and HL, Hope you are doing well.

Two days posting in a row! Wow lol:D

The doctor prescribed Addipex (sp?) for both me and my husband. We started taking it today. She said she would only prescribe it if we were doing this together as a couple and we have to check back with her in 30 days. Normally she doesnt prescribe anything unless you first try a diet plan for 2-3 months. Because she knows me and knew that dh and I both have already lost 60 lbs each just eating right and exercise, she understood the discouragment we're going through right now since we've both gained almost 40 of what we lost. This is strictly to jumpstart the weightloss to motivate us to get BACK ON TRACK! I really hope it works. I know my whole mood and attitude is awful right now because I feel so bad about myself and the way I look and feel. I'm really excited to be doing something aggressive to get my butt back into shape.:carrot:

I'll check in as much as I can to give updates on our progess. That pic of us is back when we had lost before. We definitely do NOT look like that now and it's sickening to realize we've slowly but surely gained the weight back.

Both of us started drinking more water today so that's pretty cool that ya'll are doing that this week also.

Well hope everyone has a good rest of the week! Keep up the good work.

Miki
