Hey girls, i took Michael to see the movie Zathura (the outer-space version of Jumanji) and it was pretty entertaining and fast-paced. There's an astronaut character that's pretty good looking in the nerdy kind of way (like Jimmy Fallon on SNL?)... but anyway, I had an OP day. Get this, NO POPCORN touched my lips at the movie. I had a diet soda and that was it. I came home and ate my dinner just like that. :cb: According to my new scale I am down about 2 lbs since Tuesday so I am going to keep on working it until my next official weigh-in, then I will change my ticker.
Angie, I love that holiday ticker you have. :cp: 5 lbs girl, that's awesome!!! I like your goal of 15 lbs by Xmas too, that sounds totally doable. You've got me all fired up and I am already planning on conquering my nemesis "the hill" and a little extra to come up with 5 1/4 miles tomorrow morning--that was my usual Sunday morning walk. I hope the dogs can handle it--and I don't mean my feet . Lucky is about 6-1/2 months now and I've got to get her trained good to walk on a leash--the last 2 out of 3 times I took her out she tried to cross in front of me and I stepped on her poor little feet. That must've felt like a freakin' steam roller to her :( Kempy, maybe you can smuggle yourself in a duffel bag? i would love for you or any of you gals to visit. I would definitely take you guys on an island tour, complete with a stop at the Polynesian Cultural center where we can scope out all those insanely handsome New Zealand Maori boys :T Dips, hope your dinner didn't get overdone. :flame: :) I gotta run and make sure my boy is done with his shower. Have a good evening and hi to all! |
Happy Sunday, Babes!
Good Morning. It is 7:20am in the big apple and 50 degrees outside. Our high will be 64 degrees. Not bad for mid Nov. But I know the frost bite is right around the corner. (Booo:( ) I cleaned the greasy gook out of my stove. I wonder how it got there :?: My dinner of steaks and broccoli came out quite nice, though. I didn't eat too ,uch of it though. I don't know what's wrong with me, my appetite is not quite where it was before. These days I feel like I'm making mysels eat. (where was this problem when I needed it  ) I guess I'm still a little sick because I start out feeling hungry then after a few bites, I lose my desire to eat. It's weird. Anyways. I made some eggs this morning and finished the rest of my steak and had a glass of veggie juice (eww). I have the same feeling now. Not one of satisfaction but like I shouldn't have eaten in the first place. Hope this clears up by Thanksgiving. Anyways enough :blah:
Noelle-Way tro go on the weight loss! I know you're gonna do well on your official weigh in. I'm hovering between 130 and 132 these days depending on how much tea I consume. I have to finish the film on my camera so I can post by B-Day pics. I'm working on it. BTW good job on your movie cuisine! Everyone seems to be doing so well this month! All I've been seeing on the news is the footage from the Harry Potter premiere in manhattan (yuck) Now they are saying they begin shooting the next movie in Feb. I'm like, isn't Harry, like 20 years old by now  "Harry Potter goes to college" I do NOT feel like going to work today but the bills aren't going to pay themselves, right? |
Good Morning girls!! I made a pot roast with potatoes and carrots for my supper yesterday. I invited my sister and neice over so that way I wouldnt have a bunch of roast left over to snack on. I also made a cake mix minus the oil and egg yolk and put a chocolate glaze on it so that way I can have a snack once a week when I am good so I dont feel too deprived. It was AWESOME!!!! I even got in 30 minutes on my treadmill before I headed out for the day. I think I am getting it back. YEAH!
So that makes 2 days in a row that I usually eat a spicy chicken meal at Wendy's and I skipped them both times for my turkey sandwich. And it wasnt as hard as it seems when I had tried every other time to get on track. My whole family is trying to eat healthier so that is nice. Jay has done awesome. The twins have a little bit of chub that they have been complaining about so they are trying to move more and eat healthier too. I would be so happy if I could help them slim down and be happier.(they have been complaining about it not me by the way) So my plan for today is cereal for breakfast, turkey and wow chips for lunch and crispy haddock with (maybe) baked fries and a huge salad for supper.Plus 30 minutes on my treadmill with my new shoes. I was reading in my First magazine about a woman who had c-sections so her stomache was stretched out like mine is when I lose all my weight. She had a tummy tuck and her stomach looks so good now. Me and jay were talking ablout it and I think if I get down to 130 pounds again I am going to suck it up and immediately have it done for myself so I can feel as proud of my accomplishment as I should. Every other time I decided to wait a while but the extra skin really screws with my self confidence because you can see the pouch of skin in my jeans. So that is my longtime goal. Kempy, I am sorry you didnt get many friends to come to your party. You know I would have been there for you in a heartbeat. It sucks that we dont all live near each other. I know we would be the best of friends and there for each other. I had never thought about all the school the kids down there would have to make up. Poor kids, it isnt like they missed it to have fun or anything. Are they going to have to go into their summer break? How does Joe handle the poisonous snakes and alligators when he goes duck hunting? He must have had alot of run ins with the water moccasins you were telling me about doesnt he? What about the dogs when they swim out to get the duck? Just little things that pop into my mind. Cal, I hope Ashley is feeling better today. I know everyone up here has been sick. Me and Jay say every year that we are not going out the day after Thanksgiving and every year they have some awesome price on something and we go out. Noelle, I want to see that movie too. I love Jumanji. The guy is the actor from Punked.Great Job resisting the popcorn. You are doing so well. Congrats on your loss. You can walk way further than I can right now. Keep it up girl!! You have to post some pics of Lucky sometime...He must be getting big by now. We had a doberman when we first got married that would circle us while we walked her. We couldnt walk her at all because by the time we got in front of our neighbors house she would be wrapped around me five times. She had a circle thing because she would do it to our feet when we were sitting in a chair too. Dips, Wow it is still pretty nice down your way. Our highs have been 35-40 now. The snow we got the other day never did melt off my deck...it just froze so the animals are pissed when they have to run across it to come inside. I hope you feel better for work today. Well, I gotta go walkin. Talk to ya later. |
Just a quick post today. I need to clean this mess of a house. I really don't have much going on but I wanted to say hi.
Angie the kids will have to make it up at the end of the year. I am sure they will hate it. They really don't have snakes out right now so he doesn't have to worry about it. Sorry this is so short but I have to get things moving today. |
Hi girls...just loafing around on a Sunday morning. Rick had to go to Kauai for the weekend for an aunt's funeral. The airfare alone cost $233 not to mention the car rental and a cheap hotel so I didn't want to tag along. I did my walk this morning with the dogs. We didn't do the 5.25 but we did do the 3.5 since I had to haul Michael out of bed and take him with us. He complained first that he was thirsty, then hungry, then tired, then.... Next week Sunday I am going by myself without the dog, without my sis, without the whining boy  Then I will be able to go wherever I want to for as long as I want. I'm gonna try and go out again in the evening though so I may just get in 6 miles today :crossed:
Kempy, when you're done cleaning house can you come over and do mine? ;) Dips, we've got 77 right now, expecting to get up to about 83 :sunny: I'd send you some warmth knowing how you don't like the cold... I would be one of the legions of HP fans lining up to see the film in Manhattan  Angie, I read in a celeb magazine that they (celebrities) have had their c-sections and the tummy tuck done at the same time so their post-partum recover does not include a loose, saggy stomach--isn't that sick? Aaah to have drs that would do such things and to have the disposable income to do it! That's Hollywood for ya. Hey Angie, what was your recipe for the cake mix again? Were you the one using a can of diet soda in place of the egg, oil and water? I got a recipe from WW using 1 15 oz pure canned pumpkin and 2 tsp cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice with 1 box white cake mix. It comes out kinda like a bread instead of a cake but it tastes really good. I gotta run for now, washing machine is calling. Have a great day all. |
Noelle, that is funny that you said that about the celebrities because I know that has to be what Britney Spears did. Her stomach is so flat right now and she had a scheduled C-section. I was so surprised when her first pictures came out. Must be nice.
I just take a plain old cake mix and add the water plus maybe 1/4 cup to make up for no oil and all the egg whites but no yolks. It comes out just as good then I take powdered sugar and cocoa powder and add water until it is just wet. then I microwave it until it is warm and drizzle it on the cake. I will definately have to try that recipe. YUM> I love anything pumpkin. Kempy, Did you get your house cleaned? Well, Gotta go cook supper. |
heh there!
Hey all. How's it going? Monday morning here and I had a much-needed sleep-in. already 7 a.m. here, about three hours later than I usually get up! But I did go to sleep about three hours later than usual. Yawn. Long day yesterday. Took the bullet train down to Kyoto for another big race. It went well, but I was hung over from drinking the night before with the coworker sprung from lockup. Poor kid. Sounds like a frame job if I ever saw one. Yaks (mafia) and cops are a bad mix here.
It was the second time in three weeks I've been down to Kyoto and I hadn't been there in ages. Feels like something is starting to move all over! Like some sort of cosmic knot is loosening. Have any of you ever noticed how when you travel, things start to happen, like meeting interesting ;) people and striking coincidences popping up? Well, not that I met anybody, but yesterday when I was down at the track in the press room writing my story, my cell phone rings and it's a friend in Hong Kong. I'd been trying to reach him to see if we could hook up when I go there next month as we usually do. He and his wife are there (they're Japanese). He's an old rocker and I love meeting him. But I hadn't heard from him and figured he was working over on mainland China now that Disneyland is built (that's what he's been doing for the past several years.) And then I hear from him! It's so neat with mobile phones. Linking the world. I wish I could get one where you can use it overseas but they're expensive I think. Ok, ok, shut me up! :blah: And the caffeine hasn't even kicked in yet. I think it was the sleep! Well, back into the office today. I think I spend most of my life on trains...I have been doing well for the past three days with my new 21-day challenge (any of you interested it''d be great to see you over on that thread too! ) I'd been doing super-hard challenges like no-sugar, no white flour, but now I'm trying a "live like you're already there" challenge and just allowing myself anything as long as I stay within bounds, like what I would have to do if I were lean and healthy already! Healthy part is there, just not the lean part. ;) I'm doing well so far and feeling hopeful. My weight tracker has budged for the first time in ages. :cb: Wish me luck that I can keep it up. I love hearing that some of you are feeling revved as well! :sunny: There are so many posts! :) And I just realized that I missed a whole bunch of them...hmm. Well, trying to catch up here a bit. :dancer: And now I see I have no time to write any more. Just let me say I will reread all the posts and get caught up later. You mostly sound great. Angie, way to go on the weight loss! You are rocking, kid! Kempyd, just blow off those workmates of yours. Don't get down about some party. And, I don't know how I ever stayed 23 years. I guess one thing just led to another. I was always a wanderer at heart and a loner, very independent and looking for the excitement (to me) of being in unknown and strange surroundings. I thrive off that! I was in India and planning to go back and didn't get the visa immediately so was ticked and blew them off and just came here since I already had the plane ticket as far as Bangkok. I never plan too much and I kind of go with the flow and whatever opportunities seem to be coming my way. Kind of like reading the moment and going with it. mele, how're you doing? Still feeling pysched! I hope so! I love reading your posts. I feel a lot of optimism there! :goodvibes Dips, "not feeling like it" is the story of my life when it comes to the daily routines. I have learned to just push on with so many things and am usually very, very glad I did. Not stopping to think how I feel about something is the key. Of course, this can lead toward putting up with crap for the wrong reasons. Assessment away from the action is key. NOT when it's say, 4 a.m. and you stop to consider if you really want to get out of bed! :lol3: cal, ok, let me know when you know the school. Well, must run now. photogirl, jbbm, hope to hear from you soon! Take care all! |

Here are some new pics of the puppies. I hope they come through ok.
Red what kind of challenge are you talking about? I might just jump on that one. I don't know if you remember but I used to be on the body building site too. (just a little info from me) |
Kemp -- It's the 21-day challenge. Here's the link to the last page. http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show...t=67041&page=7
I start the threads so that's where I spend most of my time. It'd be great if you could join up. Read the first page where the challenge is explained and hop on! I forgot your were on the "ladies that lift" thread. I was thinking it was here or the old 21-day challenge thread that Amarantha had started. Ok, now I'm clear. :) I don't post over there anymore, just the challenge thread and here. What are these adorable pups? Did you breed your dogs? |
Kempy, I love those little cream puff pups! I like how you color-coded them by their collars too :).
|
Hey My Gurlz!
Oh my Gosh!! Look at the cute little puppies :D.
Kempy they are so adorable, and growing fast! Hey Angie- Not only do those celebs get tummy tucks, they also have live-in trainers and cooks to make sure they exercise and eat right. You don't think they actually have discipline do ya?! In fact, Jassica Simpson mved in with her trainer for a few months to get in shape for Dukes of Hazzard. Can you imagine how much that dude got paid??? Too bad us po' folk gotta do this ourselves :( Red- The challenges sound great! These days though, it's a challenge for me to stick to my daily routine. I'm on this 130 lbs [59.1 kg] plateau going on 3 weeks now. It's self induced because I don't work out like I used to. I'm active but I haven't done my push-ups since the 1st. :yikes: but that's because I got sick. Anyways, I got a lot of work to do on getting to goal finally. Hey Noelle, what's poppin'? |
Good Morning!!Can you guys believe that Thanksgiving is almost here? :yikes: Time is flyin!!
Kempy, Oh my gosh, those are the cutest little chubby pups!!! I bet you are going to miss them when they go to their new homes. I cant believe they have gotten so big so fast. Not much happening here today. My plan is cereal for breakfast, turkey and wow chips for lunch, terriyaki chicken , baked potato and brocoli~or~cauliflower for supper and of course my 30 minutes on the treadmill. |
I just got done with the treadmill and my arm weights. This is getting easier now. I made it through my first weekend and that is a HUGE step for me. Jay says he feels great this morning...not all bloated and sluggish.
He is so sweet, He went to the store and looked for some sugar free butterscotch disks for me so I could suck on them at night when I am craving something sweet. Gotta Love Him. |
Good Morning everyone! I forget to post on the weekend, and it goes crazy here! :-)
Angie.. WTG on all of your sucess! You are doing so great.... And I have two friends that got tummy tucks and they both love them. You really should do that as soon as you hit your goal. You will be so happy. Kempy.. those puppies are just adorable. Had you not sold them all, I would have probably have come down and bought one! I've been thinking about getting a dog, and I have narrowed it down to either a Lab or a Golden Retriever. They are just beautiful! Noelle, I haven't seen that movie yet, but I am sure I will once it comes out on DVD. I took the girls and the neighbor kids to the movies Saturday night, it was the dollar movie, March of the Penquins. They had fun. WTG on your walk yesterday! 6 miles is awesome! Cal.. I hope Ashley starts to feel better. My girls are both suffering from some allergies, and it's no fun. Dips.... I bet with all your military training, you have done quite a few marathons! :-) This is just going to be a half marathon, so not quite as impressive, however, for me it will be a huge goal. Red.. I love the technology of our age.. the cell phones, the internet, gps, etc... it's wonderful. Julie.. I hope you are doing fine! OK.. I need to get busy working here. I've got another busy week. Girls Scouts and gymnastics and the Y.... I've promised I would take the girls so they can go swimming again. We went yesterday and they had a ball. Talk to you all later! Cherie |
Hi girls
Angie congratulations on making it through the weekend. You are doing great. And how sweet of Jay. It is nice that is he so supportive. You are getting me motivated to get my treadmill back out. Thanks for the good vibes. Kempy the puppies are just adorable. We are going to get a yellow lab. Our last one was a black and we would like to get a yellow because of the shedding. I can't wait to get one. I wish you had one left! Did you plan out your menu yet for Thanksgiving? Noelle that pumpkin cake sounds great. I may make, I have all the stuff for it. Thanks! Cal hope Ashley is feeling better. My kids have colds too. But their pink is clearing up nice. Cherie don't work to this week. Glad the girls are liking swimming. That is a great idea with winter coming. Dips I did not know Jessica Simpson moved in with her trainer! What a life! Hi Red. I got a little sidetracked with eating this weekend. Dh wanted pecan pie last night but I had a smaller portion but back on the wagon. I want to find some time to excercise today. Have a great day everyone. Check back soon! |
Cherie, I am glad to hear that your friends like their tummy tucks. Do you know how bad it hurts? I am so scared of blood and needles so it would be a big step for me but I really think it would help me keep my confidence up. When I lose weight I have so much extra skin left over that I cant really wear any of the cute clothes thin people wear. I cant wear the hip huggers or the sweat pants that look cute and it makes me feel bad and depressed. So hopefully I can swing the money for it. Jay says that we will find a way to afford it if it is what I really want. Geesh I love him so much!!!
I cant believe that I have turned into one of the old people telling my kids how easy they have it because back when I was little..........  Julie, I am glad your kiddos are doing better. I am going to make the pumpkin cake sometime too. YUM!! Dips, I didnt know that about Jessica Simpson either. Oh to be Loaded!!!! |
Hey girls, I'm having an early lunch right now: turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread, mustard and loads of alfalfa sprouts. I ate breakfast @ 7:20 and forgot my darn fruits at home and I'm hungry NOW! :hun: I will have 2 servings of fruit as a snack later on I guess, maybe w/a yogurt...decisions decisions  So has everybody got a game plan for Thanksgiving? I am so motivated right now that I will not overindulge and feel like a stuffed pig. I am going to talk a longggggggggg walk in the morning to get my metabolism revved up, make some low-fat, low cal dessert that I can enjoy and just eat in moderation.
 check out this new smiley, isn't that great? Angie, Jay is such a sweetie (something I'm sure you've heard me say at least a 100 times)....what I want to know is, how'd you get him trained so good? Rick is on a different planet even when we're dieting together  He gets into this fanatic zone which is WAAAAY too much for me so I just do my own thing and he does his. When I get to goal (I'm not exactly sure what that goal will be though) I would gladly suffer the pain of a tummy tuck--as long as I could have liposuction with it  My thighs and butt will need some major reshaping. Julie, you are so good even when your DH wants desserts. The main thing is portion control--I am slow, but I am learning  Yeah I love the vibes on this thread now....so energizing. Any idea when you're getting your new pup, maybe in the spring? Glad your kiddos are getting better. Cherie, are you training with someone for the half marathon or just doing your own plan? I know you will do well since you've got your mind set to it. Go Cherie! :carrot: Kempy, I forwarded the pics of your little babies to my sisters and of course my sis wanted one. She has a male yellow lab named Rusty. I think he's around 8 years old and he has a lot of wrinkles around his neck, makes me think he's part sharpei, but he's not. He's a big old softie. How's Rhea around the pups? Dips, nothing much popping around here except my joints. Old age does that to ya  Hi to Cal, Red, Hollly and all...gotta get back to work. Have a good one. |
They are pretty cute, huh? I could just eat them all up. I have to go feed them in a sec but I wanted to post real quick. Rhea loves them she is trying to play with them but they really don't know what to think about her. She is still kind of large to them right now. I am falling in love with each of them. They are starting to get their personalities now and they all act different.
Angie you have inspired me to stay OP today. So far so good. They even had TacoBell at work today and I went and got a chef salad instead. Yeah me. Noelle I wish I could get a walk in next Thursday. I will have everyone over so I can't do that so I will just have to watch out for the huge portions. We got the menu done thanks to my cousin. She usually has it at her house so she knows what everyone usually brings. Cherie I meant to tell you that I think it is wonderful that you are running a marathon. That is one thing I wish I could do. My shin splints are so bad I have trouble walking in the neighborhood sometimes. Red does the challenge include woking out with weight? Now that I am not working at the gym I have no place to do that. The only thing I have is TaeBo. Cal how is Ashley feeling? The puupies are summoning me so I need to go feed them their dinner. FUN FUN!!!!! |
Hi girls just popping in before supper. I have chili in the crockpot again with cornbread muffins. It seems I always make that on Mondays. Today I went to the mall because ds needed a heavier winter coat. I got one 50% off. I was so excited because they are so expensive. It was eighty dollars and I got it for forty! They also had clearance on some cute shoes but they are always out of my size sevens first, LOL.
Noelle I think we will get one in Spring after all the snow is done. But if we find the right one maybe sooner :). I never thought of adding alfa sprouts to a sandwich, sounds good! I am trying to eat two fruits a day too. Angie I remember on TLC they had a makeover/surgery show on and they often showed tummy tuck patients. I remember some in alot of pain and some not too bad. Go for it though....it would be a great present to yourself. Well gotta finish dinner and go get dd at dance. I don't know if I will be able to make it here during the day tomorrow I am helping out at ds's school. Hi to everyone else! |
 I just noticed that i said "talk" a long walk, instead of "take" a long walk. Really though, I am going to TAKE a long walk instead of just talk about it  . We usually get the turkey dressed the night before and leave it in the fridge until morning. I think I'll head out right around 7 a.m. and be back in plenty of time for eatin'
Kempy, is this your first year hosting thanksgiving? I would send most of the l.o.'s home with the guests  As for shin splints, I used to have them all the time until I read that if you walk regularly, you need to change your shoes about every 3 months. The mileage racks up pretty fast. I try to buy 2 pairs of the same shoes and just alternate them...sounds good but doesn't always work that way. Julie, how are you liking being the classroom mom? I think you're giving your kids a gift and one they'll remember for a long time. Michael is always pleading for me or Rick to chaperone a field trip. I dont know if I can handle being around that many kids at a time :yikes: Hey, I was at Children's Place this weekend and they had loads of winter coats on sale there as well. There were plenty on the rack too--who needs a coat like that here unless you're traveling somewhere cold? Glad you got a great bargain though! |
Good Morning! I had my mom give me back my old recumbent bike because it is so much smaller and more comfy than the new expensive one I bought last year and I rode it for about 20 minutes last night so that helped to boost my exercise up for yesterday. I have to say that I am not snacking after supper at all and it seems to be pretty easy right now. I was getting ready for bed last night and it dawned on me that I didnt think about food once after supper.
Noelle, I dont intend to overeat for Thanklsgiving. It will just be us and the kids and I have to work that day anyway. I am making pumpkin parfaits and a boxed lowfat cheesecake for Jay for desserts so that would be my only problem but I have myself on a tummytuck goal so I am hoping I do good. Jay is so laidback that it just comes naturally. He doesnt get into eating right it just more or less comes to him when I start to eat right. The first time I lost all my weight he lost about 15 pounds and he wasnt even dieting....he walked with me everyday and he still ate his meal at Wendys every weekend. I coulda killed him!  Kempy, CONGRATS on staying OP yesterday. You Rock!! I actually had a dream that I came down to your house to see the pups. weird huh? Julie, I had to go buy a bigger coat this year and I was surprised when I went hunting...I got mine for 40% off. I couldnt pass that up. Have fun at your sons school today. That is so cool that you do that. Well, I have to go walking. I will check back later. |
I just did 30 minutes on my treadmill. I think my plan for today will be: Breakfast: cereal and skim milk- Lunch: turkey sandwich with wow chips- Supper: Fat free hot dog, baked fries and a big salad. :T :tread:
I think I will go get some Christmas decorations out. I may put my lighted snowflakes up today in the windows. The tree farms dont open until the day after Thanksgiving so I have to wait until them to get a tree anyways. I dont think it will stay standing very long with these two kittens though. They are the biggest terrors I have ever seen!!! They have ripped my wallpaper borders in the kitchen and utility room already, it is a good thing for them that I am planning on repainting those two rooms this winter. I was going to make them indoor cats but...... |
Good morning girls, just popping in to say Hi  I have my first weigh in at 12 noon today so wish me luck :crossed: :sumo: I think I'm going to change my WI days to Saturdays starting next week because this mid-day thing just messes up my schedule--once I leave the office I don't want to come back.
Anywho, gotta get to work. PS. Food Find: Galeos Miso salad dressing and marinade---LOW fat, LOW cal. See if your local grocery store carries it. Yum!! I serving is 1 tbsp and between 14-20 cals for the different varieties (there are 3). Check them out here: http://www.galeoscafe.com/products.html (if you click on the name under the bottle it'll show you the nutritional info). I love this stuff and it's been in my fridge for a while, but I only actually tried it yesterday :T |
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR WEIGH IN NOELLE !!! :goodscale
I bet you will do great!! |
Good going last night Angie. I had some friens over looking at Mary Kay and I had the same type of night. I was starving when I got in bed though. :smug:
Noelle I hope you weigh in was good. I usually don't get on the scale in the afternoon. I know that I weigh less in the morning. Do you think they would frown on you weighin in the nude? :D That is what I have to do. If I don't I swear I am 2 lbs heavier and I just can't have that. This is the first time they have all been to our house. It shoudl be ok though. We really don't have to much food left over usually. The family has learned not to make to much. I found out today that we are having the salon Christmas party at our house so I am going to have to ramp up the decorations. I think I might hit Hobby Lobby and Big lots in the morning to see what I can find. It is actually going to be cold here tomorrow. The high is supposed to be 58. THAT IS SOOOOOO COOL. I love it!! I need to get dressed. Joe and I are going out to eat. I will chat in the morning. |
Hi people. How are things? I had a good day exercising yesterday. Got to the gym for the first time in a long time and jogged out 5K. Will try and go again today. I wish I could jog a lot, especially when I am inspired to, but I know that my feet and/or knees will start to hurt if I do too much too soon. I don't know if I will ever be able to build up like they say you can. Perhaps if my weight comes down. Then again, I'm not all THAT heavy. Don't know. I like to jog but just never seem to be able to take the wear and tear. :(
Kempy -- Check out the first page of the challenge thread and you can see how it works. YOU decide what your challenge is so you can make it anything your want to, just as long as it's something you can do EVERY day for 21 days. What is Mary Kay, btw? Hope you had a good dinner out! mele -- Your post inspired me to do a search for low-cal dressing recipes and I came up with some. Dressing is everything for me with a salad and yet the lowcal ones I can buy here are not that good, loaded with sugar or too expensive (imported brands). Speaking of salads, though it's cold now, I still may make myself one. I do this thing where I put on the veggies in a bowl and top it with kidney beans and cheese and then add warm brown rice on top. It's delicious! I make them at work and other people always want to make one for them, which I do when I'm feeling magnanimous! :sunny: I hope your weigh-in made you feel good! :goodscale angie -- Good work on the treadmill. Are you walking or can you jog on it? I know a lot of the home treadmills are not really conducive to jogging. Btw, what are "wow chips?" Speaking of cats and Christmas trees, we always had them climbing them and often knocking them down. My father would put guide wires at the top of the tree and connected over to where the ceiling meets the wall (forget what that's called), fastened with a small nail. It stabilizes the tree. Give it a try and all you'll have to worry about with the cats are fallen ornaments. Another btw, what is the the "third time's a charm?" under your name mean? I take it this is about your weight-loss goal, no? jbbm -- How are you? You are making my mouth water...crockpot chile and cornbread! Oh, yum! Photo -- How is the marathon training coming along? You haven't mentioned it. Are you following a plan? Where and when is the race again? Do you ever get problems with your knees or feet like I do? I would love to be able to run in a marathon. Some years ago I was following a training program and it was coming along but then I must have gotten a stress fracture in my foot because I could not walk without a lot of pain for some weeks. I was doing 2-hour jogs though, very slow and on the treadmill and the pain started when I went back to the States and was jogging outside, where I think I was going faster than usual. Be careful with your training! :goodvibes Dips -- How about that senior-citizen-sized font? Was this for my benefit? I may be the oldest person on here, no? Yes, I agree with the celebs and their trainers. They have zilcho anything for the most part, including talent! We poor folks are all the stronger, though, right! Wow, how great that you're down to 130. Do you really want to weigh less? I don't know what it would be like to weigh so little. The last time I was there I had lost all my muscle except for that to be had from doing a lot of jogging and cycling. I was smoking a ton and had lost it quickly. I thought I still looked fat though, so I guess, if you are short, and I think you are, you could want to weigh less. I think one problem too is that whenever I lose weight, I get discouraged at the loose skin and don't wait for it to tighten up before I go eating my way back up again. Do you think the skin is like calling out for something to fill it back up again? :lol3: Are you feeling better now and over your cold? I hope so! :spin: |
Uh Huh....Oh Yeah....
Hey girls, just got back from my WW meeting and with my first week back "on plan" I have lost 6.6 lbs baby!!! That's almost as much as Michael weighed when he was born  I love this Flex Plan because if you follow it, it works like a charm. Why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why did I weight so long to go back? Anyway, the main thing is I did go back and I have you guys to thank for the motivation and good vibes--so thank you, thank you very much (as said in my best Elvis voice). And yes Angie, I DO love the 1st week of weight loss
I am also very happy because I got 2 things I won off of ebay delivered today--2 leather jackets. Why 2? Because the first one I bid on was a cheapie ($30?) and I wasn't sure about the sizing....then the 2nd one I bid on I knew would fit because I have other stuff in that brand. The 2nd jacket is just a beautiful soft leather, I love it! It is used but it only cost me $51, whereas brand new it would run in the $200 range. I needed a new one for my Vegas trip because I outgrew my old one :ink:. I should be able to fit back into the old one after a few months on WW  So this girl is just on cloud nine right now. Angie, did ya hang your decorations yet? I had a cat that would run up the middle of the tree and just rip down the light strings in the process. Needless to say that cat got thrown outside real quick  Kempy, hmmm, Hobby Lobby and Big Lots--2 stores we do not have here :( . You guys are lucky to be that cool. I am sitting here with the fan blowing and it's still hot. This darn humidity is killing me! Yeah, I hear you on wanting to weigh-in naked  It's scary to weigh in in front of people--but maybe it would be even scarier for them if I did it naked :s: Hey Red, did that Japan earthquake affect where you guys are at all? I hope you're all well and good. How's everyone else out there doing? Come on, jump in and join the party! :hat: |
Hey Red, The third time s acharm means that This will be the third time I have had to lose all this weight and hopefully it is for good this time. I figure it took me quitting smoking 3 times for it to stick so maybe with the weight too......
WOW chips are a fat free chip they make over here. They taste just like regular potato chips. I have to do a search for lowcal dressings too. I am gatting into salads lately but I dont really like the storebought ones. Kempy, You are going to be a busy girl this month with all the parties. I hope you have fun. |
Hey Noelle, YOU ARE AWESOME!!!! :carrot: :strong: :bravo: :cb: :cp: :dancer: :encore: :cheer: :turkey:
I dont know what the turkey has to do with this but isnt he cute? You are doing so well, I think we are gonna do okay. The salad dressings look good, I dont think I have ever seen those and believe me I stared at the dressing aisle for about an hour last week. Way to go on the coats. I have one I bought the last time I lost this weight and I cant wait to get back into it. |
Yay Noelle!!
NOELLE NOELLE NOELLE!! You go girl! I am soooo proud of you. You and Angie are kicking butt! What a way to start the weigjt loss kick. I'm glad that you found a plan that is so easy for you. Keep it up and yoiu will be stylin for the new year!! I'm so happy for you! :carrot: Keep it up girl!!
Angie The third time will be the charm. One thing I hated this time around waqs losing weight I had already lost before. I vowed never to do that again. But you are definately on the right track. Keep it up, girl. Healthy is the way to be. Red- You are such a funny girl  No I did not enlarge it for your benefit. I just wanted to see how the big font looked that's all. But it was easier to read right? :D Anyways, 130 on someone like 5'5" would be fabulous. But I stand 4'11" tall (or short if you prefer) So 130 is a little thick. It's funny because I have all these people around me telling me I don't need to lose anymore weight and when I post my pics you'll probably say the same but most healthy girls my height weigh at least 15 pounds less than I do. Becasue of my build ( I am a muscular girl) I know that I probably won't fall below 120 but we'll see. I jus wanna look god in a bathing suit :D By the way, I'm feeling much better these days. Thanks for asking :) J- You stay eating chilly!! Are you originally from Texas?? Hey Kempy- Hope you find the time to pop in soon. Okay girls, I got some work to do. TTYL |
:encore: Thank you thank you  I am still floating on a cloud. The only thing i am pissed about today is that our downstairs bathroom/shower has been out of commission since last Thursday night. Rick flew out to Kauai over the weekend so he wasn't able to fix it. He got home Monday afternoon and figured out what the problem was but needed to get a part to fix it. Well, he told me he was at the supply house at 4 pm today and I have yet to see him 4-1/2 hrs later. I just know he's out in some bar somewhere. It is such a damned inconvenience to have to trek my butt upstairs in the middle of the night or wee hours of the morning to use the bathroom! OK end rant about that. I should look on the bright side and see it as a little bit more exercise with the stair climbing
Angie, it's my 3rd time trying to re-lose weight as well. Maybe we'll make it a permanent loss this time around? :crossed: I think if I stick with this WW plan it'll enforce the healthy eating habits which will become 2nd nature. We're such experts at losing eh, it's the maintaining that's hard. Love the turkey smiley, he's cute. Dips, I didn't realize you were that petite. You make me and Angie feel tall  I think she's 5'2" and I'm 5'3"... I'd rather be muscular and a little heavy than a little heavy with flab  Darn, the washing machine is calling again--it's just a never-ending cycle isn't it? Well, have a good night. Chat tomorrow. |
Hi my gurlz
Happy hump day!!
Noelle- What an inconvenience! having to go out of your way just to use the bathroom? That sucks. True enough it burns extra calories but sheesh, still annoying :dizzy: So have you set a weekly goal for yourself or you just going with the flow of the WW program? I feel a lot better so I'm going to go back to doing my daily push-ups. It's been about 2 weeks :o . I also want to see if I can fit pilates back into my daily routine. My lack of activity is helping me maintain rather than lose. I got on and off the scale 3 times this morning nad I'm still a solid 130. That scale won't budge! I had to have someone else get on it to make sure the 130 wasn't an automatic response  Darn scale makes me sick! Hope everyone is well this morning. TTYL |
Hey Girls! I missed yesterday! What was I thinking? I just never made it here.
This is my first official week of training for the half marathon, and so far it's going well. Red.. I am on a training schedule. I am mixing my runs with crosstraining (ellipitcal or bike) and strength training. I do one long run a week, and just try to add to the mileage every week. I have one day of rest. But, as I said, this is only the first official week. Last week was just a warm up. :D I have 16 weeks to train, and the race is on March 5th! Last night, I went to the Y and ran on the indoor track, 4 miles. It was much harder to do than running on my treadmill. I tend to make myself run faster at a natural pace on the track than what I do on the treadmill. Anyway... it was a good workout. Today, I have my easy day, running 3 miles on my treadmill at home. Angie... 3 time is a charm for all of us!!! You are doing so great!!! I love hearing all of your positive energy now! Noelle.. WTG GIRL on that weigh in!!!! It's it just amazing that when you do the right things, exercise and wise food choices how the weight will come off! :D GREAT JOB! Red... Great job on the 5K!!! I am watching out on the training. The schedules that I have keep the runs pretty easy during the week, and then there is one long run .. where you build up your mileage and endurance. I am hoping it will be easy enough on my body that I won't have problems. I am just really taking notes on what my body is saying, and I am going to really focus on trying not to overtrain, like I know I would if I just did what I THOUGHT I should do. Rather... I am following the guidelines of someone who knows. :-) Just be sure to stretch before and after your runs... and if you are having feet problems, you might get your shoes checked. I have some orthodics that I have in my shoes that I had made several years ago. They were quite expensive, but since then, I haven't had the plantar facisa (ms) that I used to get all the time. It has really helped my foot health. Dips.... you will break that barrier ANYDAYNOW!!!!! Just keep going! Julie.. I had chili last night... I love chili too.. :-) How are the kiddos? Cal.. HIYA! Kempy..... Have fun XMAS shopping for decorations. I haven't hosted a party in so long. OK.. I need to get back to work.... I'll talk to you guys soon! Cherie |
Hi Girls
It is snowing here! I am actually liking it, haha....up north from us they got 12 inches. Schools were all closed. It seems to early in the year for that. Sorry I did not post last night. I was wiped out. I was at school helping in the class. 22 kindergartners are alot of work, LOL. I am also trying to get my house in order because my brother and sil are flying in today. This place is a complete mess, toys everywhere. Burn some calories cleaning though :) I am pretty much staying on track with eating but excercising is taking more work. I have pms and I am bloated but I know excercisng helps with that so I have to get off my butt and DO IT! Noelle you go girl! I am so proud of you. :carrot: :carrot: :bravo:  Sorry about the bathroom situation. It is a pain to get up in the middle of the night and go. I have been drinking too much water before bed and I have been up 2-3 times a night. Angie I am confident that the 3rd time will stick! Are you going to be walking outside this winter or mainly do the treadmill? I may combine both. I think I will have to pick up a bag of the WOW chips. Cherie, you are coming along with your training. Great job! Massage those legs so they don't get sore. Kempy have fun decorating the house. I think I may get some of my decorations out. The snowman stuff anyway. Dips glad you are feeling better. Your arms are going to look great in sleeveless shirts for next summer :) Cal I have to tell you that being a teacher must be so much work. I can't believe how organized the teacher has to be. I think teachers are great :) Well my work is calling me and dd is wanting lunch soon. I have to plan out some dishes to bring to my mom's for our early Thanksgiving dinner. I am going to make jello jigglers for the kids and some kind of jello salad and I think a green bean casserole and some homemade pumpkin or cranberry bread. I think I will turn on some Christmas tunes! Check back soon. Have a great day all. Hi Red  |
Good Afternoon girls!! I am late getting here today. I have done a half an hour workout so at least the one I have planned to do everyday is done. I did an extra 15 minutes on the bike yesterday bringing yesterdays total to 45 minutes. I feel pretty good now. I have a huge pot of spaghetti sauce in the crockpot for supper tonight.
Noelle, I have a master bath in my bedroom and I cant imagine not having it now. I must have a small bladder or something because I can pee nonstop. I love the convenience plus I dont have to share a bathroom with 3 dirty little kids. haha. Dips, You had me laughing. I have made other people jump on my scale a few times too. I bet the scale will move for ya soon. Cherie, I really admire you. You are working so hard and doing great! I wished I could be there to watch you run(notice the key word....watch   ) I cant run since I had kids I will pee myself when I try to run. It sucks too because I would love to run. Julie, We got some yucky weather yesterday. It snowed then sleet and now rain. GROSS! I am kinda looking forward to some snow for Christmas too though. It can leave after that though. :snow4: :gift2: That is so nice that you get to see your brother today. I know how badly you have missed him. Have fun and tell them I said hi. Well, that is about it for me so far today. My food is Breakfast: cereal and skim milk- Lunch: turkey sandwich and chips- Supper will be spaghetti with garlic bread and a salad. I also intend to add another 15-20 minute workout tonight. |
Good morning girls, happy hump day. Well, I'm home this morning as Rick is working on the bathroom repair FINALLY! I think I'll take the dog out for a walk this morning since I'll be at an appointment in the afternoon and probably won't make it home before dark. See how motivated I am? I'm going to get my hair cut this morning as well, nothing drastic, just a trim to even things up and keep it healthy. I have to look good for the weekend as Rick and Michael will be gone and I will have a girls' night out w/my best buds. That will be fun.
Hi Julie, I can see how you'd be so drained from spending the day with an entire classroom of kindergarteners  Yeah, I don't know how Cal does it--of course she has 7th graders which I think could be worse ;), right Cal? That is so nice you get to spend Thanksgiving with your brother and SIL. So when are you going to go visit them out west? Cherie, I gotta give you credit girl, 4 miles running. I am tired just thinking about it. You sound like you're in a good place right now. I remember in high school where they used to make us do 4 laps around the track and that was only a mile...I think.... me and another chubby friend used to run twice around then walk the rest, we were so lazy. Dips, I know with you being in the Army and all you can do real push ups. My arms are so weak that I am only doing the kind where you stand up against the wall. Baby steps for me :) Glad to hear you are feeling better. I'm with Cherie, you will break that barrier, just keep going. Red, good job on your 5K girl. That sounds so major to me, I am so not a runner. Do a lot of the Japanese people jog around town? I'm just asking because they come down in droves during the Honolulu marathon and the Great Aloha Run coming up February. There are some serious runners from Japan that come but sometimes you see families pushing strollers in the races and moms wearing dresses and heels, it's a sight to see. I know they charter tours to fly in from there. Gotta grab a break here...I'll be back later. Have a good one everybody. |
Man, I turn off the puter for a few hours and you guys burn up the site with chat. :D
I really didn't find any decorations that I couldn't live without. We are going to head down to New Orleans to shop Saturay so I might be able to find somethings there. I want to give some economy to the city anyway. Red Mary Kay is a cosmetics company. They are branching out to your part of the globe now so I bet you will be hearing about them soon. I am not areally a big makeup wearer but I love the skin care stuff. Noelle you ROCK!!!!!!! That is just the greatest thing. I am still working on a 2 lbs loss but I am working on it and that is what matters. I not only have to get up in the middle of the night now we are having to let Echo out at around 1AM. For some reason she is having to go lots more. Angie and Julie I wish we would get snow. We are cold today though so I am not going to complain. It feels awesome outisde. We are hugh windows on the back on the house so the sun warms us up so I have to open a window to keep it kind of cool in here. It is supposed to be 36 tonight though. BRRRRR Cherie I just can't say it enough, I am so proud of you. Training like this, it is just great. Dips when you workout do you do the same things that they had you doing in the military? I really need to get my house in order. I havn't put the things away that I bought today. I'll check back in a bit. |
Hey Girls!!! Well, it's 8 PM and I am actually checking in here. I've got the girls in the showers, and soon they will be off to bed. Then it's off for me to go hang up the three baskets of laundry that are in my room. WAITING.
I did my three miles on the treadmill tonight. I upped it to 4.5 miles and hour and did it in 40 minutes. 400 calories burned according to my HRM. Not bad, I'll take it. :D Kempy.. I was wondering how NOLA is doing.. I hope they start to bounce back soon. Angie.. WTG ....wow.. you are doing great!!!! Noelle.. I hope Rick go the bathroom fixed! Julie.. you are brave.. all those kiddos..my two drive me crazy.. I couldn't be a homeroom mom! Well, I am tired and stuffed. Had soft tacos tonight. I feel like I should get back on the treadmill for more work, but naw.... that's no fun! :-) I'll see you all tomorrow! |
Hello My Gurlz...
I am beat! I just want to crawl into bed and get some shut-eye. Of course I had to check in with my girls first:
Cheri- ou continue to amaze me. You have an excellent pace going on but the tread mill does spoil you. t is more difficult to run on a track because the mental challenge is greater. That's why I hate running on tracks. I would rather run on the road or through the park, that way I can check out what's happening around me and not think so much about running. I would totally run with you if I were there. :tread: Its been a minute since I ran a good distance but running is a mental thing for me. Once I get my rythm, I could go for a while. Kempy- Is the house in order yet?? I want to get some decorations myself but I just can't find the time. Maybe next weekend. You'll get your metabolism into gear soon enough. I can't wait for your weigh-in success post :D Good luck finding some cool stuff in new orleans. BTW, The only thing I do that I did in the Army is push ups. A lot of the military excersises can cause serious injury if you are not properly supervised. Besides, the army builds you up for combat so you get all bulky. I'll see if I can dig out some of my army pics. you'd swear I was a boy  These days I do things to make me look feminine and cute. Noelle- Glad you finally got Rick to work on the bathroom. I bet your hair looks great too. These days I only have time to keep mine braided. It's easy maintainance (just like my Army days) Anyways, looks like you'll be getting some action this weekend. Can't wait to hear all about it! Be good, remember, I'm young and impressionable and you're an influence on me ;) By the way, push ups are challenging but I bet you're underestimating your strength. Besides, those wall push ups are no joke either. My dad was a soldier also, I used to do them with him when I was a little girl so I had many many years of practice. If I show you the technique, I'm sure you could give me a good 5 right now :drill: J- Wow. That's all I can say. I mean I grew up in a house full of kids but they varied in age. 22 5 year-olds might move me to murder  You're right though about the teachers, the control they have over a room full of rambunctious kids is unbelievable. You get credit for doing it for a day. That's one more day than I would be bothered  Did you say it's snowing by you and you like it? :?: Well do me a favor and keep it for yourself! I hate the snow. I'm actually hoping we go the whole winter without it. (wishful thinking I know) Angie- I could use some sketti! :hun: Mind if I stop by for a plate?? You are working so hard. I am so proud of you! You are going to accomplish big things by the time x-mas rolls around! Sorry about the yucky weather. It's rainy over here in the apple. That's cool though, I'll take rain over snow any day :rain: I'm not too worried about the scale by the way. I know as soon as I get active again, things will happen. I'll keep you posted. Red- What's good dirl. A 5K, huh. How many miles is that? I never was any good at the whole metric conversion. How's everything otherwise. Hey, are you making your way back to the states any time soon? Okay, gals, I'm gonna see if I can post some pics for the fun of it |
Hope This Works

This was me when I was in boot camp. Pretty boyish, huh  The X-mas one was me in Italy...hope that gets everyone into the spirit!!
