Hi ladies,

Angie - YAY for your loss this week! Any loss is great. It all adds up, hon. Wish we were having snow here, but instead it's near 70 degrees. Yep, it would really be something if Katie gets on at Disney. She sooooo wants this.

Cristi - hope your back is better. Not sure what Katie would be doing if she does get hired. She checked off several areas of interest, so I guess it would depend where they need the most help. I'll check out your photos later.

Marti - thanks for the crossed fingers. :)

Sue - hope you're all settled.

Katie attended the presentation for Dis today, and had a short interview with the rep afterward. Now she has a telephone interview tomorrow afternoon. Then she waits. Oh joy.

I've been eating too much to lose, but not enough to gain, thank goodness. And the exercise has been sporadic. Yikes, I need a swift kick in the butt. Any volunteers?

TTFN,

FrouFrou 11-04-2005 12:55 PM

Hello ladies

Not much to say or post...but then there never is for me. I lead such a boring life. Anyway...doing laundry and cleaning once again today. I can't believe how warm it is! This is November and it is in the 70's! Oh well, it could be worse. :sunny:

Have a great weekend ladies!

Jane 11-04-2005 07:31 PM

Yikes, it's so quiet in here!

Cristi - this is the first chance I've had to check out your photos and the link is gone. :( I'd still like to see them, if you'd want to PM me the link. We're having the same weather here as you are. I agree it's odd for November.

Hi to the other JLs and anyone else reading this.

I decorated the hall for Neal's party, and everything looks nice. I'm so glad I'm not doing the cooking! Tomorrow will be his night to shine and I want to be by his side, not stuck in the kitchen.

Katie had her phone interview with the Disney people today. She's not sure how she did. First she says she thinks it went well, they she said maybe she hesitated too long here and there. I say it's in God's hands now. If she's supposed to get it, she will. They said she'll be notified in 2-3 weeks.

Like Cristi, I don't have a lot going on, either. Thank goodness for no crisis, right? I doubt I can make it in tomorrow, but I'll be here Sunday.

Toodles,

Marti 11-05-2005 05:02 AM

It HAS been quiet in here!!

Jane--Lots of congratulations hugs to Neil!! He's going to love what you've done for him! You're a special lady to do something so special for him!! Tell us how it went after the weekend.

Cristi--I did get to see the photos! They were great! And you look great too! I love your hair. It looks really blonde in the photos.

Not much going on w/me either. I have Jhanai this weekend so I won't have much time on the computer. I may pop in to just read and catch up, if I have time, I'll post.

Anyway, need to get going. Bed time for little girls and mommy's!

FrouFrou 11-05-2005 09:55 AM

Hi ladies and Happy Saturday!

Jane~hope you guys have lots of fun at the party tonight! So is Neal's retirement official as of today or was it in December that it is official? I can't remember, sorry. Is he looking forward to his retirement? Phone interviews are kind of weird so hopefully Katie isn't worrying over it. I am sure she did fine and like you said, if it was meant to be it will be. But I am keeping my fingers crossed in the hopes she does get it. :crossed: I'll just post the link to the pics again and leave it on till Monday.

Marti~DD said that too...my hair looks really blonde in the sun, which it does. I didn't think it was that blonde though. Hope you have a fun weekend with Jhanai!

Not much on the agenda for the weekend. V is working both Sat & Sun so I will be doing some heavy duty cleaning and catch up on some reading. I staarted a book while in GA and am dying to finish it! I've actually got two I need to finish, the other I have been reading for about a month or two, kind of boring so I read a little and put it down. Getting ready to go and make hotel reservations for our next trip to GA at the end of the month and order a couple of books from Barnes & Noble. And that's about all I have for now.

Take care ladies and have a GREAT weekend!

da fat n da furious 11-05-2005 12:40 PM

Crazy me...I wrote this long post then Monte called me to see something on tv and I forgot about it...

If I remember it went like..
Jane congrats to Neil on his retirement! and of course you should be by his side and not cooking in the kitchen. Fingers still crozzed for Katy and Disneyworld.
Marti, I had a halloween treat from work,,,1 out of the whole week so feeling that was an accomplishment. I don't know if I could of said that if it was PBand choc treats though,,,no will power with penaut butter...
Cristi love the pictures. Poor Josh did look a bit tired...lol So did he continue on with smoking? And I would of said you were a blonde in them pictures.

nothing new here,,,went to a going away party from work last night,,came home and showered the bar stunk like smoke. Watched tv,,read my book,,living a boring life right now and thats ok. Have a few props to finish,,,braid Rup hair,,,avoiding that cause its going to be a pain. And sewing a cover over the pregnancy belly so the batting doesn't chafe the woman's skin.
My big plans for today is clean the house,,,all those places that get missed. And Monte and this other guy are going to frame the basement. Shouldn't take long since its a small basement. Only 700 sq ft. I should clean the yard,,,well dig it out of the ice and place the planters in under the deck I mean.
have a great day ladies...

Jane 11-06-2005 10:28 AM

Good morning, ladies,

Cristi - wow, thanks so much for sharing the photos again. Josh looks so handsome in the beret. Love your hair! Neal doesn't officially retire until 12/12/05, but I didn't want to schedule a party in December. There is too much going on for everyone that month. He has mixed feelings about retiring. He's ready for it, but it will be such a change in his life. The one thing he'll like the most is being able to sleep in, lol. Katie is on pins and needles and is trying hard to not plan on getting the invitation. (that's what Disney calls it)

Angie - I need to deep-clean my house, too, but it seems to get put on the back burner. Sounds like the costuming is coming along nicely. Btw, I had no idea calls to Canada were 74¢ a minute! But it was worth it to talk to you, Ang.

Neal's party went great! There were 53 people there, and everyone had fun. I didn't overeat at all - there wasn't time. While others ate, I stood at the podium and sung Neal's praises. (in 32 years, he's never had a sick day) Then I was overseeing the food and beverage refills, and by the time I sat down to eat, the food on my plate was cold. I refuse to waste points on cold food that's supposed to be hot. I did have a small portion of dessert, but didn't even get to fininsh that. By the time we got the kitchen and dining room cleaned up and got home, all I wanted was a shower and bed.

There was a tornado in Evansville (about 45 minutes south of us) early this morning which killed at least 11 people and wounded over 100. The winds woke me in the night, and I thank God we were spared. CNN is still doing widespread coverage of it.

Hope you have a great day!

da fat n da furious 11-06-2005 12:15 PM

Good morning Jane,
tornados still? I thought that ended at the beginning of Oct?
OMG Jane 74. a minute is alot,,,that is a $100.
That was a wonderful, turn out I know that its hard for people to retire,,when you get used to doing something for so many years it will be an adjustment for him. The first few weeks he will think hes on vacation..
I spent most of yesterday cleaning,,,I have two armours to clean out and a few drawers here and there. Then the real clean comings in. Scrubbing walls and light fixtures. Hate seeing lil dead bugs in light fixtures. (hope they are dead) I think I would hate more to see live lil bugs in light fixtures. Monte and the reno. guy have framed one big wall. Soon I will be dry walling...*sigh
should get going,,,have a photo thing today.

Mom2Gaby 11-06-2005 04:34 PM

Sunday Afternoon -

Sorry about the tornado in Indiana Jane but thrilled that you were unhurt!! I was watching some of the coverage this morning - crazy weather these days.

Happy weight loss to Katie - Ang - Marti and Cristi!! If I missed anyone - I am sorry. I haven't really caught up on post but for the last few post.

Busy with work and the girls. I might cut and paste some writings from my parents group because I don't have patience to write much. Excited about Christmas coming up - I bought some of those cute crafty candy canes and want the girls to make some with me for our tree. Had some bugles, and 2 lo carb beers last night while watching Tuckerville on TLC - lol ........so, that was different. I don't usually watch tv, this morning I watched America's Sweethearts w/ Julia Roberts and picked out Bewitched for tonight w/ Nicole Kidman.

k- mainly wanted to check in and say hello. I will try and book my room on the 15th when I get paid :) ......

FrouFrou 11-06-2005 04:39 PM

Hello ladies!

A little bored so thought I would get on the ole puter. And of course I always seem to start here or end here. Such a boring but nice Sunday. :sunny:

Jane~I was going to ask if you guys were spared. I saw some online just a few minutes ago and the death toll was a little higher than you said. That is so sad. :( It looked like someone went through Evansville and bombed the place. My heart goes out to all there. Glad the party went well last night. I bet it is going to be different for Neal. Almost everyone I know that their hubby's retired all either went back to work, some part-time. But Neal has farming doesn't he, plus the house in the spring to keep him busy so you guys will have a blast! Waiting is the worst! I feel for Katie. Hopefully she will know one way or the other soon.

Angie~no, unfortunately Josh doesn't plan on quitting smoking. First thing he asked when he was released was if I brought the cigarettes. I almost didn't but he would have bought some and he is of age so I can't really tell him no. Of course he wasn't supposed to be smoking which doesn't make sense because most of the Sargeants and big wigs do smoke. They tease the guys that smoke. And he was sleepy in the pictures. I thought he was going to change and goofy me had to get pictures before he went to bed. When we left the base we asked him what he wanted to do and he said sleep and take a 45 mn. shower! Well, after he ate and smoked. We went to a steak house and that kid put away some steak, chicken and ribs! You would have thought he hadn't eaten in a week. Then he told me what he eats while on base and my mouth fell open. I thought jeez, what a pig! But he's working it off so...After we ate we went back to the hotel and he watched a few minutes of football and went to sleep for 4 1/2 hours. It was just really good to see him. Anyway, you and Jane must have burned the phone lines up! Hey, when you're done with your house can you come clean mine?! I ended up not cleaning at all yesterday. Spent too much time on the computer looking up and ordering things!

Marti~hope you are enjoying your time with sweet little Jhanai.

Anyway, ladies...back to doing nothing. I did get some reading done last night. Guess I am not in a reading mood because Stephanie Plum is not cathing me. Normally I pick up one of her books and can't put it down until I am finished, now I can't seem to finish. Will read some more of it tonight, or when I get off here. Need to go think about what to do for dinner. Haven't had lunch and I am a little hungry. A little afraid of WI tomorrow. I think I may have gained a couple of pounds. Didn't get as much walking in this past week and ate a little more than I have been, not sure why. See ya ladies tomorrow sometime.

Mom2Gaby 11-06-2005 04:42 PM

FRIDAY POSTING

Yesterday, Rebecca stayed home from school. I was too rushed to argue
and she did feel somewhat warm. Though she just got out of bed so
that could have been the reason. Also she had been sitting in front
of the heater ( I use to put my forhead up against a light bulb so
when I wanted to stay home from school my muther would touch my
forhead and say "omg.....you are burning up!! Get back in bed, you
poor thing!!" )
So, anyway Rebecca stayed home. I asked that she clean the house if
possible, do the laundry & maybe vacuum.

So, I get home and she shows me my closet - I scream "omg - I have a
floor!!" :carrot:

Everything was folded and stacked up on the shelf. The beds were made,
dishes done and everything put in it's place, so I thought til the
morning when I wanted to get dressed.

First though I was kicked in the face........ :faint:

Girls fight ALL the time. Say one nasty word and they are at each
other. Dare to look cross eyed and they are at each other.....dare to
even ask to borrow something and they are at each other.....

They don't fight over who gets the front seat in the car- which I
find rather wonderful. Rachel always gets the front seat......

So, Beck said "something" to Rachel and Rachel went after Becky who
was laying on the couch in the living room. I step in to get between
them because Rach had the advantage of standing over Beck and yanking
on limbs....., not good.

Didn't last long. Rach is stronger and I couldn't budge her. Get a
foot in my face and my nose burns, glasses come off.  :?: *&^%%$#@@%^**(()
((*&^^%$$#$####$%^^&^&&&^%%$#@@%^&&*** sooooooo pissed.
Go in the bathroom and my glasses are screwed up, nose & lip have
cuts.......

Rach has no remorse and says "you shouldn't have gotten in the way"
Becky is sweet and says "sorry mommy"......

I call my friend and start crying and she ask what is it that upsets
me the most????? My glasses.....I guess I can walk with my head
tilted?? She looks at the positive and says "you probably wanted to
get rid of those glasses anyway??" I guess.........didn't really need
to get kicked in the face to do it, I have medical coverage you
know...;0)

So, I feel better and we hang up. I bent the glasses back so they
aren't too lopsided and will go into an optical shop and try and
straighten them out in a second.

Get up this morning and go look for my black skirt. Can't find it.
Get a chair and look up on the shelf....can't find it. I look for 20
minutes and am now late....so I start pulling piles down and start
whining....."I can't find any clothes......!!" I look all over the
apartment and find 1 shoes behind the couch and another shoe under a
bed and the iron up in the kitchen cabinet. This is how Beck
cleans.....she shoves til she can't shove anymore.

I decided to wear jeans and can't find a blouse - so I grab a black
turtleneck. Now I need the hair straightener and Beck doesn't know
where it is so I go searching again and ask Rachel. She says "it is
over there" and points to a pile. So I dig.....and dig and dang she
is right! So, I do my hair and we are running late..... :tantrum: :tantrum:

Now , I dress Gaby and she wants to play with her horses and I get
ticked and say "I don't have time for this!!!!" The night before
after the kick in the face Beck was showing Gaby how horses gave
birth. It was very educational. The big horse was Mom and the tiny
horses were babies ... (suppose to be a horse):moo: :moo: .and Beck raised the tail and out came the
babies. Beck even did sound affects. I said "that is worth 5 years of
counseling for Gaby."

I finally get Gaby dressed and we head out for the car. She doesn't
want to go to the sitters - she wants to go to Papa's (my ex - not
her dad---->long story - lol) I say no that today we need to go to
Ambers -so we drive the 10 miles in no time and even run through the
drive thru at McDonalds because she wants a toy.

We arrive at the sitters and she goes in , takes off her coat and
sits down but when I start saying good bye she gets up and holds onto
my leg - crying. Now I feel bad and hug her for a few minutes. Finally
pry her loose and leave - feel horrid.
Decide not to go the freeway because of rush hour. Stop at Starbucks
and grab a venti & sandwich.....have 40 minutes to get to work.
Traffic is fine until I get 5 miles from the downtown area - backed
up, at a crawl. Decide to take the back roads :scooter: :scooter: and while listening to
the radio they say there had been an accident and it was almost
cleared up. Now I have 20 minutes to get to work and I wind through
side streets behind a wide *** truck. Pissed.....slow and I can't
munch on anything because I already ate the sandwich.....

Amazed I arrived at work on time - just soooooo happy it is Friady!

FrouFrou 11-06-2005 04:46 PM

Hi Susan! I saw you had posted while I was typing away! Excited about Christmas?! I don't even want to think about it for some reason. Although, I did buy a decorative light thing for outdoors. We will have to decorate earlier than we usually do because of V's schedule and going to GA the end of the month. But as far as shopping...just now starting to think about it. I watched Tuckerville last week and just sat there in awe. Tanya Tucker looks so old to me. Let me know how you like Bewitched...I wanted to see it when it first came out but never did. It looks cute and funny. Did see America's Sweetheart when it first came out and liked it. I haven't rented any movies in a while, thinking maybe I need to soon since there's been nothing on t.v. How is work coming along? Are you adjusting to the new place, work and apartment? Okay, better get going. Have a good rest of the weekend!

P.S. Okay Susan...ya posted again while I was typing :comp: away  Sounds like you have had a heck of a time. (((((HUGS))))) to you. :grouphug: Hope your feeliing fine. Of course I would have been angry to being kicked in the face. Someone would have gone away being punished. My kids get into arguments once in a while and I think the boys had gotten into just a couple of fights that I had to break up years ago. They were probably your girls ages. Glad those times are over. Ahhhh, the joys of being a mother. So did ya make it to work on time? I think I would have given up and gone home! Just kidding...

Mom2Gaby 11-06-2005 04:52 PM

THURSDAY POSTING - DEPRESSED

Not really but close! Somedays I just want to stop the world and get
off. This single parenting is downright hard at times. There is so much
to do and so little time.
I have noticed I am cruising the wine/beer section at the store more
often - lol. Ok - NOT FUNNY!!!! *sigh*

My home is a mess and that is what depresses me - I hate messes! I want
my clothes hung up in the closet and dishes washed on a daily
basis.....not weekly. I kick everything back in on the floor of the
closest these days.

It is depressing, it gets me down and makes me wanna eat a cake and
some donuts and maybe some strudels , bagels with cream cheese,,,,pizza
and chili.....hmmmm, chips with salsa washed down with some wine......

:eating2: :eating2: :eating2: :eating2: :eating2: :eating2: :eating2:

Sunday

Hi Cristi!! See you posted. I was meaning to ask where are the pictures others are mentioning?? Would love to see them :)
I am HOPING to purchase a used treadmill on the 15th. I really need to walk and I just find it easier doing it inside. It worked before and I think I just need that now.
I did go out Friday evening with that co worker that asked me and the same one that I was in the Rose Festival with - no conncection, though he is a sweet man. I am just not interested at all - tooooooo busy with the girls and work. I don't want to spend my time/ energy "dating" - just would rather make candycanes......

anyway - rice a roni for dinner. I TOTALLY LOVE that dish

Mom2Gaby 11-06-2005 04:57 PM

Hi Cristi -

I was kind of surprised how Tanya looked too after not seeing her in years but after a few shows she is really a neat lady/ mother. I admire how she juggles it all and thinking she must be in her late 40's??

I had never seem ASweethearts all the way through - I think Catharine Zeta Jones (??? )looks so pretty - I forget her name.

Better get - chat later :)

FrouFrou 11-06-2005 05:07 PM

Susan~know what ya mean about stopping the world and getting off. I was a single mom for a few years and man there were soooo many times I wished I could have just quit! Just don't turn to food-it's too easy to do I know. But man, a cake and some donuts sound good right now! As do chips, salsa and instead of wine I'll have a marqarita (sp?). I really need to go get something for dinner! I don't see anything wrong with going out with the guy from work if he knows you are not interested in a realtionship and if you can find time. Sometimes just having some companionship is nice once in a while, no strings attached. I agree, Catherine Zeta Jones is pretty! She is one of me and DD's favorite actresses. She is such a classy lady. The same with Nicole Kidman. Did you see The Stepford Wives? That was good, and funny. I better get going for the third time! You're making me hungry with all this talk of food...okay, so I was hungry before that. Hope you have a great evening!
