I was just thinking last night that I need to update the info on who's going and who can't make it after all!

Katy - so sad that you won't be going, and although I'll miss meeting you, you're doing the right thing! :yes: A man has to stand his ground with dignity. A pox on the head coach! There will be other years to meet, so don't worry about it, Katy. :)


To the others who said they're going - Cristi, Angie, Jules, Susan - is this a FOR SURE thing? Neal and I would never go to Vegas in June except to meet you, so let me know, ok? The room deposit is totally refundable, but the airline tickets are not, so now's a real good time to say if there's been a change in plans, before I buy them. I've been waiting for my airline to accept reservations for that time slot, which will be soon. So how's it looking for you guys?

Not me... :( I am having surgery on my arm and won't have enough money or leave time from work to take. The vacation calendar is full anyway -- nothing left but wait list for the whole summer now. *sigh* Hope you guys have a great time!

Jane...I am still in also. But...I was thinking... if not anymore people are going (Susan & Jules) or even so...maybe we should rethink meeting in Portland. Hate to throw that in there, but the whole point of the get-together was for everyone to get-together and if some can't, seeing as there are three ladies in OR and all pretty close to one another, maybe we could just go there. Just throwing it out there to see if anyone is up for that before any flight plans are made. I probably would fly there, not sure but something to think about maybe. :shrug: But I am set for Vegas.

KATY...so sorry that you guys won't be able to make the trip after all. Totally understand but you will be missed. :(

Cristi - I see what you're thinking, and that's nice, but I think Angie and Monte are excited about Vegas... also, Neal is wanting to go there. So let's stick with that, ok? It took us long enough to come up with that one, lol. If we change it, how about Indiana? :D Sue and I are here, Connie is relatively close, and Mindee is close by in Michigan.

I am in for Vegas.I just am waiting for taxes in start of March to make reservation and purchase plane ticket.

Jane - well...I was a "hopeful". Biggest challenge was the vacation calendar at work. I am about halfway down the seniority list, so by the time the vacation choices get to me, Christmas, Thanksgiving, 4th of July, and every three day weekend already have all the time around them reserved. We get three picks, and my first choice had to be Spring Break since we had already made Disney plans w/Noah. Then everyone else got their first choice, and I had to wait for my second pick. By the time that rolled around, the entire summer was wait list only. They only let 7-8 people scheduled off on vacation for any given day. So I had the wait list option in case somebody cancelled, but it's really hard to make hotel reservations and buy plane tickets if you don't even know if you'll have the time off work.

But then this surgery came up, and that decided it for me. I will be off work for at least 4-6 weeks, at reduced pay -- right before Disneyland in April :( So, unfortunately, Vegas just doesn't seem to be in the cards for me this year...

:D OK, sorry, that was a rotten pun, wasn't it? Anyway, I hope you guys all have a fantastic time, and I will be there in spirit for sure.

That's fine Jane...just thought I would throw that out there since it was an option before. Besides...I may not be going anyway. Haven't cancelled my reservations as of yet, and won't until I am absolutely sure. Everything depends on what is going on with Josh. If it comes down to going to HI or NV, sorry ladies I'm going to see my son in HI-my kids always come first. Like I said, it depends on when and if that happens. I haven't heard from him and am afraid he won't be coming home before being sent there. So we will see what happens.

Count me in on those who are bailing out. On 2nd thought, Neal and I just don't want to go to Vegas in such extreme heat. Several people have asked us if we're crazy to think of going there in late June, which really got us to thinking about not going. Especially since he is retired, and we are free to go anytime of the year.

If any of you want to try for a cool place, let me know. :)

Sorry to hear that Jane. Really don't think Vegas is any hotter than anywhere else in June though. I've been in May, June and August and it's not so bad. Besides, you're indoors most of the time. So...is anyone else still going? I'm still going as it stands today, haven't cancelled my reservations but if no one else is going then I may change my plans.

I would be ok with Oregon if it allows Katy & Marti to be able to attend and if it is ok with Cristi & Angie????? It is cool and we can meet at the coast or something??? oooooo - Newport or something. Just a thought.

I'm ok with Oregon, too. Cristi already came up with that idea, but I just thought some of the others were really counting on Vegas. Would Newport be a good idea, ladies? I'm not familiar with any of the state. If we stay in Portland, it wouldn't cost the local JLs any money for hotels, etc.

Another thought - maybe we could go to Calgary and see one of Angie's shows? But would she still have time to do my eyebrows? :D

Newport is a nice coastal town. It is where Keiko lived......ummm, their claim to fame. Actually Keiko isn't there anymore and he has since expired. Nothing to do with Newport - ha
Anyway, I was picking down the coast because it is closer to Marti & Katy so they can come.
Meeting JL's is my main thought and location second. So, maybe some others can kick in their thoughts and come up with something.

Meeting you all is my main objective, too. Location is secondary. If you all still want Vegas, I can still go. I shouldn't have assumed Susan was unable to go just because she's going to Hawaii. Cristi had said she'd probably be visiting her son instead, which is exactly what I'd do in her case. Katy, Marti, MaryKate, Sue, and the others weren't planning to go, and Angie said she and her husband had already done Vegas enough, but was willing to go, though. Neal and I really don't want to do Vegas at the end of June but agreed to it since all the rest wanted Vegas. I just thought that since it was down to about 3 or 4 of us at the most, maybe we could go somewhere cooler. Sue lives there for a good portion of the year, and says it's unbearable. Had I known that at the time, I would never have agreed to go there at the end of June. For the record, I won't be spending all my time inside the hotel. I'll want to go out and see the sights.

So I'm really sorry I assumed some of you would not be able to be there. I'll call the hotel this week and get my reservations back. See you all there - Susan, Cristi, Angie, and the rest. :hug:
