  • I've started!
    Good afternoon Ladies,

It's 12:35 PM and I'm just getting in from getting the kids off to school, my DH off to jury duty, and going to the grocery store to get what I needed for my first day of my challenge to follow my first Slimfast daily recipes!

For "braekfast", I had 1 Slim Fast Optima Meal Bar, ~8 fluid ounces of fat free milk and 1 fresh orange!

So far, I've had 310 calories, not counting the orange. I'll be eating 6 times today.

It's raining here in DC and I do mean raining! It's one of those days that makes me not want to do anything. I have washed one load of clothes for my son, but I need to run a 2nd rinse for the fabric softener (our dispenser not not automatically dispense anymore.)

Depending on how long I stay on the computer I will either contiue to wash or I'll go across the street to see if I can excercise with my neighbor. I have an invitaiton for her anyway.

Will check in later, after my first snack.

  • Good afternoon everyone! As Caspar noted, it is pouring rain. I had a horrible night's sleep last night. The dogs woke me up at 2:30 a.m. and then the rain kept me up until 5:30 a.m. So i decided to take a personal day and stay home. I went and got a mani/pedi and now that my toenails are dry I am posting to let you all know that in 1 hour i will have met day 5 of the week-long challenge with an hour-long ballet workout.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! It is supposed to rain here all day today and tomorrow. I was supposed to go hiking with my sister and niece on Sunday, but they don't want to hike in the mud.
  • Good evening everyone! Well, as Fishwoman well knows, it is still pouring rain! How about it FishWoman - even though they said that we needed rain, have you had enough rain yet? Sorry to hear that you had a horrible night's sleep. I usually wake up 50 million times, during the night, but I didn't wake up too often, last night. I didn't notice the rain last night.........it usually pings on the air conditioner in the window, but i didn't hear anything. Did you enjoy your personal day? I can't remember the last time I've had a mani/pedi - well actually I can remember it but I can't remember how long ago it was! So, pretty toenailed lady, Congrats on meeting day 5 of your week-long challenge. Ballet huh? I took dance when I was growing up! Now, my dd is following in my footsteps and taking ballet and tap.

I said earlier that I'd check in after my 1st snack. Well, I had beets for my snack, and I just finished my "lunch". I had another Slim Fast Optima Meal Bar and a Cottage Cheese Salad (lettuce, peach half and cottage cheese). So far I've had 670 calories. And I've had 2 fruits and 1 veggie! Guess I'll check back later, if I'm still online, after my 2nd snack.

I don't know about our weekend.........My DH has a football game to coach first thing in the morning, but I don't know, with all this rain! The kids have ballet and tap (mds only has tap) and after that I need to take him to the library to get a book on Hispanics for a book reort, since it's National Hispanic Month. He has an outstanding book that he needs to return, but I don't know where it is , so I may have to use my library card! My DD has homework this long weekend too. She's already done her math worksheet, and is now reading the first 4 chapters of a book she has to do a book report on .

Hope it clears up for you and your sister and niece, but I guess that you're right - who wants to go hiking in the mud?! I used to go hiking with my dad when I was growing up. We both have hiking staffs with decals on the milestones we got from the park service.

  • Well, I'm back again! I've had my 2nd snack - Vegertable Juice. And of course I had a V-8! I just love it Was born and raised on it. Wish I could have more that 6 ounces!

    See you after dinner!

  • It's Friday (eer Saturday)
Hope everyone had a great Friday - BTW where is everybody???

Had a rough day - did not meet a commitment I made to someone and I am out of integrity. I did get in my workout but missed Thursday's workout . May do a double on Saturday or Sunday to make up. Still falling short on that water but as carla49 says "tomorrow is another day."

    Kudos to

casper for a great OP (on program) day (I am assuming that was your goal)! And a big for starting "today" (Friday) rather than waiting till next week. You are taking advantage of the "the time is right now" philosophy.

I am following casper's example and not waiting till Monday to start over with water! We all should take on something we have not accomplished this week starting Saturday. After all 2 days meeting a goal this week is better than none at all.

Hope to see you all check in Saturday!
  • I had a great Friday! - BTW, I'm with mscat - where is everybody???

mscat - Thanks for the kudos! I guess that I need to finish filling in my OP day.

Since we are in the middle of our kitchen renovation and still have no stove, I could not prepare my SlimFast dinner. I was supposed to have Spinach Pita-Pizza, but instead, I had a Banquet Chicken and Broccoli Pot Pie - 350 calories. For my 3rd snack I had a nectarine. I had counted ~1200+ calories, but when I plugged what I ate on the website, it said 1,310. So, with the pot pie I had 1660. A little high, bit I'm happy.

Today, after taking the kids to their dance classes, and after taking my ds to the library to get the book for the Hispanic book report, I went to get my food for my daily recipes. For breakfast, I had a Slimfast Optima shake, 1/2 English muffin, whole wheat with canola-based, trans-fat free margarine and 1 scrambled egg. Bet you all are wondering how I had a scrambled egg with the kitchen having no stove. Thank God for breakfast TV dinners! I ate the scrambled eggs and gave the bacon and hash browns to my dd.

It's still raining! I managed to make a pit-stop by sorority meeting while the kids were at dance class - hardly anyone was there.

Yeah! I got a and a for starting on Friday. Well, Friday was payday, and if ever I'm going to spend some money, I do it on payday before my DH says that we have no money! But yes, I am taking advantage of "the time is right now" philosophy, I suppose..........

Yeah for you, mscat. Don't wait till Monday to start over with water! I have my water right here with me right now! I definitely agree that 2 days meeting a goal this week is better than none at all!

Well, I guess I'll check in after my first snack!

    Casper
  • Hi! Since last time I've had my first snack - cucumber slices. 1/3 cucmber, peeled and cut into slices with creamy ceasar dressing. Lunch was another SlimFast shake with Tuna & crackers - 2 ounces of albacore tuna, canned in water, 1 teaspoon low fat mayo, 1 teaspoon relish and 4 whole wheat crackers. See you after my 2nd snack!

    casper!
  • Hi everybody, I have just started the day with a cuppa Indian Tea, Now I am ready to stack my whole day of nutrition in different boxes (this is the I am planning) like piling all the food I am going to consume this day count their calories and eat them in small snack size portions. This is my plan for fighting the pounds this week. Lets see how it goes.
    c u all later.
  • Sunday Greetings!
    Good afternoon Ladies!

I didn't get my workout in yesterday Got up too late and worked until midnight w/hubby on closet renovation. The work was not particularly physically strenuous as some of our other project days, so I am not counting it in place of my treadmill. That is ok - I made sure I got up and got my workout in this a.m. Only got in 32 oz water yesterday but working on my first 24 now and I am will complete 76 before the day is out!

I got on the scale and reported another loss but I am not claiming it until weigh-in day, Monday. I am keeping my fingers crossed!

Sandybhat - great idea! Hope your new plan works. Let us know!

Missing carla, Bonnie, Fishwoman, ceejay, SweetKisses, Debi - hope to hear from you soon!
  • Hi sandybhat! I'm a tea person too! But what is Indian Tea? Good luck on the you're planning. Let me know how it works out.

Hi mscat! Sorry to hear that you didn't get your workout in yesterday. You got up late?! So you and your hubby are doing a closet renovation while my hubby and I are doing a kitchen renovation! cool! I think that you should count the work as your treadmill. Working with hubbies is a workout! Glad to hear that you got up today and got your workout in this morning! Good luck on you first 24 oz.! 32 oz is better than 0 oz!

I got on the scale last night and I was 170.5. While getting ready for church this morning, I got on the scale, in the buff, and I was 169.5! I'm claiming it! I'll take any lower number I can get! But I'm keeping my fingers crossed too!

My 2nd snack, yesterday was a Sliced Tomato. - 1 whole tomato, fresh with 1 tablespoon of Italian, fat free salad dressing. I ate a turkey pot pie for dinner, but I didn't get in my 3rd snack, so since I went to church today for Homecoming, and ate small portions of the repast, I haven't been back OP yet. The next time I eat I'll start with my 3rd snack from yesterday - a Tossed Salad.

Will check back in after I eat it and have totals.

    Casper
  • Ok. I just finished "yesterday's" 3rd snack - Tossed Salad. My total caloric intake was 1,840. Still high, but I have to eat those TV dinners.........

See you later, after I eat my "breakfast."

    Casper

We seem to have a lot of people MIA. If this thread is no longer a source of inspiration or motivation for you, please feel free to pm me and let me know why.

Just as a reminder of the original intent of the thread - declare a goal or goals related to taking action toward losing weight and report your progress each day for a week at a time. We are to encourage and support each other as we continue to challenge ourselves to meet our goals each day.

I apologize for the days that I have not been timely in posting and recognizing your daily accomplishments and I am committed to be accountable to you every day from this point on. I am going to step up my support of each one of you in declaring and meeting your daily/weekly goals.

I have completed my exercise goal for the day I hope all of you met some goal toward healthy living today and will share that with the rest of us here. Have a great evening.
  • Hey Mscat, sorry if I've been MIA. I had my little surgery on my deviated septum on Friday, and before that I had been working which never leaves me in the mood to post. But I did actually succeed in my goal for this week: no fast food. Not that I ate particularly well, but...

There's nothing like a nose job to make me realize that I will never, ever, ever listen to the old siren song of cosmetic surgery. It's awful. I can't blow my nose for a week, and it's all stuffed up and sore. I have eggplant coloured "eye shadow" and "eyeliner", which is not too bad, but there's also the lovely puffy eggplant pouches under my eyes. Major luggage!

I haven't decided on a challenge yet for this week, but I really need to cut down on caffeine and diet soda. I may leave that at least until I get the splint off and can breathe better thru my nose. Right now I'm so thirsty all the time. I have no idea about my weight: I haven't gained, but may have lost as the painkillers are supposed to cause constipation, so I may be holding on to an extra pound or so.

I'll try to come up with a good challenge by tomorrow. Take care!
  • I really slacked this week.. Its been a super stressful week.. everything that could go wrong in life pretty much did go wrong so nothing worked out as planned.. hopefully next week will be better
