Happy Thanksgiving Ladies!
I really feel stuffed, LOL. The wierd thing is, though, that I actually didnt eat that much. I had like 3-4 small bites of everything (except the cheese laden baked macaroni, lol, which I managed to avoid all together) and I only had a small piece of cherry cheesecake for dessert. And to think that I have to do it again tomorrow...BLAH, lol. I hope you all are enjoying the holiday today, and if heading out for the early bird sales tomorrow, be careful, lol. Personally, I wont be caught dead in a store until monday morning, LOL. Too Crowded! Anyways, I have some things to do around the house (maybe work off some of the extra cals I took in today, LOL) So I'll check in w/ y'all tomorrow. |
I didn't do too bad!!! I am exercising after hubby goes to work tonight!!! Hope all had a great day!
Amanda - :carrot: carafre |
 Didn't exercise last night. I hope to , no I will today! I refuse to go shopping w/ all the crazy people out there!! Actually I can't wait to shop next year after turkey day! I can't w/ the kids. Next year they will be at home w/ Daddy while mommy becomes a crazy person!!
carafre |
I haven't weighed yet this morning and don't want to either.
I've been pretty dang good this week and I think most of what I lost last week is back. I did splurge yesterday, but I didn't do too awful. I was never uncomfortably full. |
cara, congrats on the smaller jeans
Alisha, I hope your son feels better Happy Black Friday everyone. |
Good evening, ladies! I decided to take The Sir to our house in TN today instead of waiting until tomorrow and wasting a day that we could be spending with my hubby. Took care of the cats, left a note for the lady that checks on them during the week, then came right home. For Thanksgiving, I had seconds, but I really didn't eat too badly. My downfall was the 4 or 5 glasses of wine I drank. I've drank very little alcohol since my son was born (and of course none during my pregnancy), and this was the first time I just went ahead and drank as much as I used to. I know it's got tons of calories or fat or something, so I'm not looking forward to the scale tomorrow.
Our friends (whose house we were at) don't have weight problems (at least, they don't look like it). But they had so much candy and chocolate and fattening stuff all over the place. Also, they talked about the foods they normally like, how they like to cook, etc. and it makes me wonder how they look like they do! We've really cleaned up our act, so to speak; it's amazing to me that my house used to have all that junk food, too, but now it's a pretty healthy place to be. I guess I've come a lot farther than I thought. Cindy |
Good Morning Ladies!
Good Morning Ladies ! How is everyone doing? Good i hope? Things are going good here! My son is feeling better...but i am sad to say that TG night i was sick.....all night! Ugghhhh! :?: Oh well i guess i don't have to feel guilty about what i ate, even though i REALLY didn't eat that much, at all! I guess its just going around! Ladies, i am sad to say i braved the CRAZYness on Friday morning for Black Friday and went to WALMART, TOYS R US, AND TARGET, KMART AND WALGREENS......Walmart was the WORST! Well not too bad cause they had most of there stuff on pallets that were not wrapped up, so i got most of my stuff before 5am but i was up at 2:45am...luckily my son was at his Grandma's. But you would be supprised how many people bring there kids with them at 3am in the morning, and i am talking from INFANTS on......:(
Cara: Don't stress the excercise you will be back to it in no time! I have not excercised in a couple of days :( I am REALLY dreading the scale this morning! Cynthia: If you don't mind me asking what part in TN? I live in the Nashville area...i don't think wine has fat in it....i might be wrong though but i think its mostly calories...but its ok....you gotta treat yourself once in a while....don't stress it! Awesome job at keeping up keeping your house healthy...i have not gotten to that point yet, but i am slowly getting there if getting my family to change.....one day at a time i guess! Mode: If what you lost last week is back don't stress it, i bet you its just water wieght, a couple more days of good eating will take care of that! How is the couch to 5k going? Well ladies i am going to jump off here....i will talk to you all later! Have a GREAT day! Alisha |
Hey ladies lets start a New Years goal slimmin sahmmies...cause this board is getting long, what do you think? Or SLIMMIN SAHMMIES with goals...something like that, if not its cool...just a thought...Take care
Alisha |
Did anyone end up on the scale today? I did and I gained two pounds!!! I am not giving up hope that it is yet another scale fluke!! I will recheck tom. in the am!!!
Mode - Alisha is right don't stress & don't give up. Keep going and see where you are at this Sat.!! We can do it!! Cindy - Good, you enjoyed some wine! I did too. I am not going to think twice about it. It;s been so long since I've had some. Amanda - looks like you did great!!!:carrot: carafre |
Hey Ladies! I did the unthinkable and shopped for Christmas presents all day! The crowds at the mall I went to weren't all that bad, surprisingly. We got all our shopping done except for a few stocking stuffers for the kids. We have to get our stuff done early because everyone we know is in another state and we either send their presents or visit them well before Christmas (i.e., next weekend!).
Alisha: We're in McMinnville TN. It's about an hour from Nashville, on the other side of Murfreesboro. I really like Nashville, always have, but the town we were in was just a little too rural for my tastes. It's a cute town, and I LOVE our house, but it's just not for us. Yes, I'm fine with us starting a new thread. I'm also fine with us keeping the old one. I'll just go along with the crowd on this one! Carafre: You did the same thing I did, gain 2 pounds. And you didn't update your tracker either, bad girl! (Neither did I!) That's okay, we'll do better next week. I don't mind if we gain a few before the holidays are over, or stay the same, just let's not gain 2 pounds every week, okay? I tend to give in and say "What the heck, it's the holidays" every year, but I'm going to try and be a little more reserved this year. Julie: Hello! Did you weigh yet? C'mon, don't be scared! At least 2 of us have gained this week but we're vowing to do better, so what's the worst that you could have done? I double-dog-dare you to weigh! Okay, I'm off to check the other threads and my emails. Talk to you ladies tomorrow! Cindy B |
I did weigh, it showed me up 4.2 pounds. I know I sure as heck didn't eat enough to gain that much, so I'm not sure what's up.*shrug* Unfortunately it's made it mentally tough to stay on track.
I'm really impressed at how much shopping you ladies got out of the way already. I still have so much to do. I'm going to get running shoes for Christmas. I have sore knees after my 2 weeks on C25K. |
The scale is NOT friendly this week, Ladies, LOL. I stayed exactly the same, but that's better than gaining.
Starting a new thread is fine w/ me...I was just thinking a couple of days ago that this one was getting really long, LOL. Maybe call it Slimmin SAHMmies #2 I dunno, You ladies decide and I'll follow, LOL. I ended up at Old Navy on Friday, it was so crowded, LOL But it was definitely worth the trip. I just stopped in while (GULP) I was waiting for our PIZZA to be ready. But I had spotted a coat last week that I wanted to get for Christian, but it was $39.50 (out of my budget!) But when I went in Friday the same coat was (drumroll please) ONLY $19.50. I couldnt pass it up, so i put it on our O.N. card, and Christian loves it. Anyways I am SO looking forward to getting back on program today. and get that scale moving again ;) Hope you all had a great weekend, I'll check in w/ y'all later |
Good Morning Ladies!
Good Morning Ladies! How is everyone doing? Good i hope! I am doing good! I did not wiegh in yesterday i am just fearing it so i think i will hold off until next saturday after a good week of eating right! You know?
Cynthia: I have heard of Mcminnville, but never been......i have only lived in Nashville for four years, i am a Florida girl, born and raised. I miss it sometimes, especially when it gets too cold up here in Nashville. Mode:  stay strong girl! I know you can do it, you have done FANTASTIC so far! Amanda: I totally agree about the scale.......good job on not gaining...you go girl!! :carrot: Cara:  Stay strong! I know you can do it! As far as the new board goes, i will wait until we all decide on it. And then if you guys want i will set it up. Or whatever..i am ok about whatever. Well i am going to jump off here, i will talk to you ladies later! Have a GREAT day! Alisha |
The gain has to be mostly water. Except for a few days my average calorie intake was only 1200-1500 so I know I didn't abuse food.
I'll skip this week for my knee and then repeat C25K week 2 the following week. Amanda congrats on the weigh in success and finding that jacket on sale |
Julie: Sorry to hear about the gain. Did you weigh at the same time of day you normally do? They say your weight can flucuate throughout the day. Maybe it's due to water, as you say. You'll do better next week! Sometimes I've gained for no apparent reason and the next week I'm down again.
Amanda: Great shopping! And I had pizza today, too... as well as a bunch of chocolate someone at my husband's work gave to him. This time of year is so tough for us! Anyway, keep up that bargain-hunting! Alisha: Yeah, I guess it does get rather cold in Nashville compared to Florida. But I'm originally from Chicago, so it's not like the winters I grew up with. Having said that, after living in Nevada for a number of years I've become rather sensitive to the cold, so I know what you mean. Although I don't think I could stand Florida summers. As I mentioned above, I've been pigging out on chocolate. No exercise today, either. I just feel like I'm in limbo until we move, and I'm using that as an excuse not to eat right or to exercise. I'll be sorry later, I'm sure. Maybe tomorrow I'll get my pilates dvd out. If anyone out there wants to kick me in the butt, please feel free! Talk to you tomorrow! Cindy B |
Hello
Cynthia: :cheer: You can do it! Hey what pilates do you do? I have the Winser Pilates tape, i am thinking of alternating my workouts between the gym, taebo, and starting the couch to 5k this week.....hopefully to give myself more variety, and that way i won't get bored...hopefully. Good luck this week!! You can do it! Julia: Is your knee ok? Is it from running? I hope you get to feeling better real soon! Well ladies i am going to get off here and go to bed, gotta get up early to take my son to school. Have a great day tomorrow! Alisha |
Alisha, I'm pretty sure that my knees hurt from running in the wrong shoes. I'm going to go to a running store and get some better ones. I ran on Friday and they were the most sore Friday/Saturday, they are only a little sore today, and I hope even better tomorrow. I'll still pass the jogging up this next week to heal up more.
I really like the C25K program, good luck on it this next week! Cynthia, I don't see the weight going anywhere. I hope it goes away by Tuesday. I'm in a fitness challenge group, and would really hate to post a gain. :( Moving can be stressfull. Hopefully you won't gain 7 pounds in a month, like I did. |
Ok - 196, so not bad.
Wait - I'll be back later, sorry kids are at it! carafre |
Alisha: It's called 10-Minute Pilates. There are 5 ten-minute segments (abs, legs, arms, stretching, cardio) and you can mix-and-match. It's pretty good, but I've never tried any other pilates so what do I know.
Julie: What is C25K? Sorry to hear about the knees, I know that can be frustrating. I used to jog but now I'm waiting until I'm under 175 to start again. I read somewhere that you shouldn't jog much over that weight, but then I've heard of a lot of people who do and don't have problems. I guess I'm just using that as an excuse not to jog yet! Doing okay so far today. I went to Target and got some healthy stuff to eat. Hubby is home sick today, so that kind of throws my schedule out of whack. I'll try to squeeze in some exercise, maybe even go down to the exercise room. Carafre: +1 isn't so bad! You'll do better next week. Talk to you all later! Cindy PS: Like my new avatar? I'm not really trying to fish for compliments, but I'm normally a horrible photographer. I took that picture earlier this year and was so very proud of it. I even entered it into a contest on Animal Planet (but I didn't win). |
Good Morning Ladies!
Good Morning Ladies! How is everyone doing? Good i hope! Well i am sad......i was supposed to start my Low Carb diet back again today, but i woke up not feeling good, kinda nauseous and yucky :barf: so i don't think i will start today, cause right now i am munching on pretzel and sipping sprite and i CAN not have that in my diet :( Hopefully tommorrow i will be better, it REALLY must be something going around my husband is sick today, i took my littlest to my mother in laws to spend the day maybe the night so he does not get it again, and i can disinfect the house and wash all the blankets...etc....It sucks! I just hope we all can get over it SOON!!
Cynthia: That 10min pilates sounds cool, who does it? The one i do takes 30-45 min to do, and its hard, especially when you have not done it in awhile! Your picture is really cool! Good Job. Besides who cares what animal planet thinks! I think you did a good job! Mode: Good luck on finding some good running shoes! I will HOPEFULLY be starting my run tomorrow! Well ladies i am going to jump off here gotta get some blankets washed i will try and jump on later Cara: How ya doing? Talk to you later gals! Alisha |
Julie - Sorry to hear that you're hurting. I hope the new shoes help! Heal first then ease back in. You gotta take care of the aches & pains first.
Cindy - Love the new avatar!!! I wish I could figure out how to put a photo up there - I am the worst at figuring this stuff out. But really, such a beautiful picture. Not to toot my own horn, but I am an avid photographer and pretty darn good. Such a beautiful cat ( what's his/her name?). I hope you get to exercise today. We need to get back on track. I felt so much better when we were hard at it. I am walking today & toning. Alisha - I hope you get better soon. I know exactly how ya feel! Sending the little one to MIL's, is a great idea. Wash what you can, but take it easy and get better. We have some weight to lose & you need to be healthy & ready to work your butt off!! Feel better soon, girl. Amanda - I want to get to Old Navy soon! I can't believe you found such a deal!! It must be a pizza week. We hade it last night. I didn't eat too bad. I need to up my water intake. Ok girls - I am off to get it together!! carafre |
glucosamine really made a difference today. I am barely sore. I actually forgot that my knees hurt for several hours. I'm going to a running store to try on different shoes. I'm still going to take this week off jogging and do other stuff. By next week, I should be ready to ease back into the program. I plan on doing week 2 again until I feel ready to try week 3.
Cindy, love the kitty avitar. Alisha, sorry you're having a blah day. I am just getting over a virus, and it's not been fun. cara, congrats on the great weigh in! Cynthia, C25K is the coolrunning.com couch to 5k program. It's a 9 week program of slow training up to run 5k. |
Good evening everyone, I meant to get on here earlier, but i have been SO sick today. I haven't been able to eat hardly anything so far, lol. But I am hoping that my tummy will settle enough to at least have a bite of something later.
On the bright side, Haleigh is starting to feel better, but I think Christian is getting sick now, LOL...Story of My Life. Julie: Hope your knee feels better and good luck finding some good shoes. My DH started having knee problems a couple of years ago when he was working as a roofer (is that a word? LOL) It's horrible, he's only 27 and yet I am pretty sure that he developed arthritis (he wont go to the dr, he's afraid of needles, lol) Hopefully the new shoes will help you out :) Cindy; I love the photo! That is a beautiful cat...My hubby took a pretty good pic of our neighbor's cat while it was sitting on top of his truck, Too Cute, lol. You just gotta love a digital camera ;) BTW How DO you set a "real" photo as your avatar?? Alisha: Hope you feel better soon...Right now I know Exactly how you feel Anyways I gotta get off here. it's time to give Haleigh her evening dose of antibiotics and panmist. i'll check back in tomorrow :) |
Yikes...
Julie - Good, stay positive! Thanks for the congrats. We can stay the course.
Amanda - Oh No, you too? Alisha's sick as well. Maybe we do need to start a new Slimmin' Sahmmies seconds!!! We keep passing around the icks!! :dizzy: Feel better soon!! I walked today! Yay! But I ate 2 small cupcakes!!! Darn birthdays! I am headed to the exercise bike for atleast 50 min.. And all the water I can drink!!! I will check in later tom. afternoon. I am shopping in the a.m.. Wish me luck! take care - Let's get moving (if your not already)!!!!! The holidays aren't going to beat us!!! carafre ps I can add 50 min on exercise bike! |
Well, I tried the fitday journal and I am eating so many calories! I am going to get w/ my doctor & see a nutritionist. I know that I am still nursing & require more, but I need to get a gauge on how many calories I need to sustain me & nursing. I know that fitday isn't for nursing moms - but i wanted to get a rough estimate of how much I eat. So I am getting w/ my doc. to see what I can do. I am also thinking of joining Curves. I think it would be great to get away & do something healthy for me. Anyway - I better go.
take care carafre |
I figured out the information the scale is giving me
On my tanita scale I was 223.0 and about 44.0-45.0% body fat (98.10-100.35 pounds of fat) 226.8 and 43.0% body fat (97.5 pounds of fat) So without guilt I can register a 0.5 loss for my team for the week :carrot: I'll weigh myself in the morning to make sure the figures are correct. I wish I had recorded my exact body fat % at 223. I think it is 45.0% meaning a 2.5 almost 3 fat pound loss. Since I can't remember, to be honest with myself and the team, I'll use 44.0% as my starting body fat %. I feel so much better about my weight numbers now that I crunched the data and saw that muscle really is what's giving me the weight gain. |
Good morning Sahmmies!
All of you are so inspiring and I feel like I'm doing nothing! I'm just itching to get that baby into a baby stroller and just walk and walk. Soon! That's my favorite sort of exercise and he really likes it too.
Alisha: So sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Something's going around I guess. Hope you and your family are better soon. My hubby has been home sick yesterday and today, too. That pilates is called "10-Minute Solution Pilates" and the instructor is called Lara Hudson. I got it at Wal-Mart. Julie: I'm so glad the glucosamine helped you. I've heard that's wonderful stuff and it's pretty safe (not like prescription drugs). I'll check out the C25K when I move, I don't want to start anything now. But it sounds neat, something to really motivate me. What is a tanita scale? (I am learning so many things from you!) Amanda: Yuck, now your family is sick too? Alright, which one of you Sahmmies started this? :D I hope you're feeling better soon. Doesn't it seem like Mom has to feel better faster than anyone else so she can take care of everyone? Doesn't seem fair! No, I don't know exactly how to make an avatar. You have to make the file very small (the exact requirements are listed in the User Control Panel on 3fc) and then just upload it. The uploading is easy, I can do that. But I have my husband make the files the right size. He uses some program called GraphixConverter or something like that, it came with our Macs. But probably any program that manipulates picture files would work. Cindy |
Carafre!
Carafre: Thanks for all the motivation this week! I can't say I've done a ton of exercise, but I'm really getting back into the weight-loss mode. We can't put this stuff on hold; after the holidays are over, we've got to get back into anyway, so why stop now?
That's so cool that you do photography. It's something I've always wanted to get better at but never seemed to find the time. My hubby is a great photographer, so I usually leave it up to him. The cat is Echo, she's my son's favorite cat. Her name is rather ironic as she's deaf. But she's very LOUD when she meows since she can't hear herself, so the name really fits. I just love solid white animals of any kind, I think they're beautiful. BTW, did you know white cats are bad luck in England like black cats are here? I'm full of useless trivia. I keep forgetting you've got the double-whammy of nursing and trying to lose weight. You are doing so well because of that! I just can't imagine. But I'll bet you've always eaten healthier than me since you have to be careful of what you eat; I don't think I can be that disciplined! Good idea to talk to a nutritionist. How long do you plan on BFing? C |
Peanut allergies
Sorry to overload everyone with posts this morning!
I just was wondering everyone else's thoughts on peanut allergies. I'm sure you heard the news story a few days ago where a teenager with peanut allergies died after kissing her boyfriend, who had eaten a pb sandwich a few hours earlier. I just did not know it was that severe. I knew there were anaphylactic reactions, as there are with other allergies like bee-stings & shellfish, but from kissing someone? But then last night I read about some studies going back as far as 2000 that talked about kissing and peanut allergies. Apparently it's been reported as causing reactions such as rashes and trouble breathing, sometimes even going so far as to require the administration of epinephrine. One child even had to go to the emergency room. So it's not over-reaction or a laughing matter. It's scary. I had always taken peanut allergies with a grain of salt; not the fact they exist, but the sheer number of sufferers and the severity. The number of peanut allergies in the past 10 years has doubled according to one study I read, yet the experts don't know why. I think that's what has always troubled me. How in the world can something like that go up so sharply? Is it maybe the actual record-keeping, or even just the reporting of incidents? If so, I thought maybe people were over-reacting like they tend to do. Or is it they way peanuts are processed, has there been some change? I just don't know. I'm more sympathetic now to it, maybe since I have my own child. I can't imagine going through life being that scared of food. As far as my son, he sometimes develops a rash on his face when eating pb or peanuts. But it's gotten less noticeable as he's gotten older, so I still keep giving him peanuts. It's so very scary, though, for those with kids that have anaphylactic reactions. Anyway, sorry to ramble. I just thought this was an interesting topic and wanted to share my thoughts and learn yours. C |
Cynthia, Tanita is a brand of scales, and they are usually the most accurate, they make hospital scales also. Not sure about the peanut allergy. I wonder why the sudden increase. *shrug*
|
Cindy - I think that allergies to peanut, shellfish & others can happen anytime. The reaction is very severe. I think we see more today b/c peanuts are processed in plants that make other products (food) that isn't supposed to have nuts in them. Of course they have to put a warning on the foods - this product made in a factory that uses peanuts or something like that. Anyway, that's my take on it. White cats are bad luck in England? That is so weird! As for the motivation, you are welcome!:D I like hearing it myself. It helps to realize that we have the power to change ourselves, even during the holidays. I started to feel like I was being sucked into the fat trap again. I just will not go back there. It's nice to indulge, but not everyday. Let's see - oh as far as breastfeeding, I tried to wean him last month. He wasn't ready so I guess I'll keep going until I feel the need to wean again. Maybe he'll want to soon. I hope not. I do enjoy the bond we have. He takes regular milk everyday in addition to B/M. I go through stages where I want my body back and think I need to wean. Then 5 minutes later I think I'm the worst mom ever for even thinking that! I've found a great group of b/f gals that have helped me see that it's ok & very much needed on his part. I bet you didn't count on me writing on book there? Sorry - It's been a rough day.
I hope you ladies are well. oh - yeah I love that your cat's name is Echo. It's just beautiful. carafre |
Good Afternoon Ladies!
Good Afternoon Ladies! How is everyone doing? Sorry i did not check in yesterday but my not so feeling great day on monday turned into me getting sick that night and my oldest was also sick All night! So needless to say i spent the day in bed mostly just getting up here and there! It sucks though i was really wanting to start my couch to 5k but i think i will start next week, i want to MAKE SURE that this darn BUG is gone!! So right now i am just taking it easy....watching what i eat, but not going back on my diet just yet.
Cara: Good Job on the walk! :carrot: And i wish you all the luck with Curves! Cynthia: I have not heard that story about the Peanut allergy! OMG! Thats terrible i had no idea it could happen as easy as that! WOW! I guess you learn something new everyday! Julie: Not to be nosey...but how much does that scale cost? I really need a new scale! And if its not too much, maybe i can get one for Christmas.... Amanda: I hope your family gets too feeling better real soon! Well ladies i am going to jump off here gotta go make dinner...i will chat with you all later! Have a WONDERFUL DAY! Alisha |
Good evening ladies.
We are all feeling better, thank goodness. Today presents a new challenge though, LOL ... A DOG! My MIL's neighbor threatened to shoot one of her dogs (Long story, I get mad just thinking about it) which happens to be Christian's Absolute favorite dog in the world. So I currently have a beautiful hound dog named "Scooby" in our basement, LOL. My DH is going to try to build him a temporary kennel tomorrow, since we can't keep him tied (his neck is the same size as his head so a regular collar just slips off, and he chews through the body harnesses) So thats whats new in my life, lol. Other than that things are about the same. I have stayed on program as far as eating goes, but have yet to get back into exercise. Alisha- Hope you and your family are well soon, hang in there :) Cindy- That's so sad about the girl dying after kissing her bf. My sisters DH has an allergy to cinnamon (wierd, huh?) so my sis cant eat anything w/ cinnamon in it because if she kisses him afterwards, his lips swell up and he gets a rash on his face...I guess he's very lucky that he doesnt have the anaphylactic reaction. Which reminds me I need an epipen before I get beestung again  Everyone else, i hope you are having a great week. I gotta go check on my new pet, lol. |
Good evening Sahmmies. Just a quick note tonight.
Carafre: I'm glad you've got some support with the bf. It sure helps to bounce off ideas on others, doesn't it? I know that's why I like 3fc so much! Sorry to hear you're not feeling well, Alisha. Take it easy for a few days, you need your rest. Amanda: congrats on the dog! Most of mine were rescues too. Isn't it sad how some people treat animals? I've got a sick child, possibly. He's been lethargic this evening and has a low-grade temp. Just a few minutes ago he woke up crying and he never does that after I put him to bed. I took his temp again but it was normal (actually, low). But I think I'll try to find a doctor tomorrow. I don't usually go running to the doctor at the slightest fever, but my hubby's been sick and one of Dryden's playmates went to the doctor with a virus the day after the two boys played together last week. Besides, we're going out of town on Friday and I don't want to be in Alabama searching for a ped. Oh, and the people who bought our house couldn't get financing, so that fell through today. But another realtor showed it this afternoon, and her clients wrote an offer this evening. They low-balled us and we're counter-offering tomorrow morning; I hope they accept or we're right back to square one and running out of time. So it's been a dramatic day. Talk to you tomorrow. C |
Alisha, I can't remember what I paid for the scale. I think it was between 50-70 dollars at K-Mart. A bit expensive for a scale, but I was so sick of my old one not working right and wanted the body fat sensor too.
Amanda, I hope things go well with the dog. That's rude that the neighbor said he'd shoot it. Did he say why? I hope all the sickies get better. I'm just getting over a painful virus. Hit my back muscles and tied them in knots. Feeling a lot better, I'm back to about 90%. :) |
Julie: The dog thing is a really long story, lol. One of my MIL's other dogs is in heat, and the neighbors HUGE labrador was down there (which is fine) BUT everytime my MIL tried to feed, water or even go Near her dog, the neighbor's dog would try to ATTACK her! She called and called to the neighbors asking them to please come get the dog until Pepper goes out of heat (she's chained up) because his dog kept trying to bite her and she was afraid to even go outside. She told him that she was going to carry her hand gun if she had to go out for anything and that if his dog tried to attack her she would have to shoot him. (She has a really bad back, so physically she is not able to fight of a 100lb dog) The neighbor flew mad and said that if anything happend to his dog he would come down and shoot every one of her dogs, AND that if he saw the brown one (Scooby) up near his fence line he would shoot him anyway. He told her that she was lying about his dog, and called her every bad name in the book, and all she is trying to do is protect herself. Anyways, so she brought Scooby to my house so we dont have to worry about that a**hole shooting him just to be spiteful. Like I said, Long Story, LOL.
But Scooby is a really sweet dog and I just cant let anything happen to him. Christian and Haleigh love him, and he loves them. Plus he smiles, LOL. He looks like he is snarling, but he is really doing a WHOLE mouth smile, LOL. I'll have to try to catch that on camera and make it my avatar, LOL. too funny Cindy, sorry the deal fell through on your house. Hopefully everything will work out soon. Hope your son feels better soon. I am one of those who take my kids to the doc every time they get more than a cold, lol. Both were preemies and it seems like every single time they get sick, it goes straight to their lungs. Luckily they dont get sick now as often as they used to. Christian's ears STAYED infected until he was nearly 3 years old. He couldn't talk, other than incoherrent mumbling, until they FINALLY took his adenoids out, He hasnt had 1 single ear infection since, and talks great, thank goodness :) And Haleigh never stayed as sick as Christian did, but she has had her fair share of bronchitis and pneumonia, though. Its really sad, I can remember a period of about 6mos when I had one kid or the other at the doctor's office EVERY week...Needless to say our pediatrician knows us well, LOL. I am SO Thankful that the kids are healthier now, it was a nightmare when they were younger. Well I got way off topic there, huh? On a more weight loss related issue, my morning weigh in reveals that I am resting comfortably at 203.6 today...I just hope its in that area on Saturday for the "official" number, lol. Looks like I'm going to reach my new years goal, Hooray! anyways, I gotta get off here and take Christian to school. I'll talk to you ladies later :) |
Hey Sahmmies. I will be without a computer until Sunday evening. We have to go back to Tennessee this afternoon and then we're going to Alabama straight from there for the weekend.
I'm sorry I haven't been very active or supportive the last few weeks. There is so much going on, but I still check in every day to see you all, it helps keep me going. I really, really mean that. I will be back to my normal cheerful self in a few weeks I promise. In the meantime I leave you with this advice: Don't ever move! In fact, that's such good advice that I believe I'll even follow it myself for at least a year or two. :) Okay, have good weigh-ins everybody and I can't wait to see you all again on Sunday. Cindy  |
Alisha - :balloons: Get better soon! I am so sorry!!!
Cindy - :coffee: We are here & await your return. I don't know what to say except that I am so sorry the deal fell through on the house.:stars: Keep your head up. You know where we are.;) I ate one bad thing today, a Big Mack. Yikes, I haveb't had one in a long time. But I didn't eat breakfast and was starving while running errands. No excuse, just happened. But I ate really well, no wait, I forgot the cookies I ate. Man, I HATE stress. Ok, so I am upset w/ myself. I am trying to balance too many things and it's catching up with me. I hope you guys are doing better than I am. Take care girls. carafre |

Alisha - I hope that your little one is ok!!!!! Thanks for the support, I need a kickin' girl!!! It's been rough, my husband's (step) Grandma passed away on my daughter's B-Day. And hours later I found out that my Grandma's cancer is back in her spine. She goes for more tests Monday! I don't know which way to turn. Hubby's in NC for the funeral, I am here w/ the kids. I am trying to keep busy but my mind starts wandering and I end up in the kitchen. I did better today. I didn't mean to post all of this but I am so sad today.:( I miss living in NC. Memphis doesn't feel like home. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH ... I am on my way to clean the house and then to bed.
I really hope everyone has a good night. carafre |
