Hey guys!! I ate candy, but I did do a mile on the treadmill to make up for it!! My fastest time yet!! I also lifted weights too!! I plan on doing it again tommorow!!

I gave myself a smiley today, but I had scalloped potatoes for dinner and those probably aren't that healthy. I need to come up with a better way to monitor my food choices, and that's what this week's challenge has really taught me. I've got a FitDay account but never use it. Those who use it regularly swear by it and say they've lost faster after really keeping track of what they eat. I think after we move I'll start using it.

Speaking of move, we've cancelled the contract on the house we were going to buy because this whole relocation buy-out thing is up in the air with no end in sight. We would have had to move back the closing date at least a month, but don't really know for sure when we would be able to close. So we just cancelled and will find another house when we have more concrete answers. But good news: Someone looked at our old house on Friday and again yesterday and are reported to be "very interested" and "making a decision soon". So I'm hoping we sell it this week!

That's all from my front. The Sir has been fussy all day, and I don't know why. Could be a tooth, could be just bored and sick of hotel life (like me). Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

I have decided (after much despair) that my eating habits need a makeover. Our home schedule is out of whack. We need our routine & sit downs snack time. I need to be accountable for what I eat & when I eat. I am going to keep track for one whole week of what I eat. That should give me a good place to start. Something is messing w/ my weight loss. I eat pretty healthy but not always. So this will be interesting.

Carafre: Fitday.com is a great site where you can log everything you eat and it will keep track of everything from calories to carbs to sodium to everything you can think of. There's lots of other stuff on the site too, like a journal you can keep and make public (if you want). The whole site is free, and it's really easy to use.

When you log your food you can either pick items that are already listed (which already have the calorie counts, etc.) or if your item isn't listed you can load it with all the nutrition info and then save it. It's really cool.

My little guy has a cold, that's the reason for yesterday's behavior I suppose. He woke up in the middle of the night crying, which he never does. Poor little guy. I gave him some children's tylenol cold medicine, hopefully that will kick in and let him take a good healing nap.

Well i am happy to say that i am sticking to my diet i am in day 3 of my diet and all is going well....i need to start excercising more i just can not find time when i am at home...there is so much too do most of the time! But i will try harder to make time!

We went the grocery store and ran errands, tommorow I will be back at the gym on the treadmill!! :carrot: I have to go real EARLY because I have another seriously busy day. I have also decided to stop obsessing about my weight and to start obsessing about a healthy body. Phyisical fitness has NEVER been my strong point, there is step areobics tommorow morning as well so we will see. Wish me luck on that!! :dizzy:

I hope everyone is having a fitday and I totally bombed on the challenge this week. Most of the halloween candy is gone, so I hope to improve!! :lol:

I have been cooking healthy dinner everynight this week too!!

Not a great day
 
My emotions were up and down all day and I ended up saying ":censored: it" and we ordered Chinese tonight. It was good, but I know it's not healthy. We had some people look at the house today, for the THIRD time in less than a week. We thought we'd get a call tonight about an offer but we didn't. Maybe tomorrow.

The Sir is a little better this evening with his cold; thanks for the well wishes.

Alisha: :cp: Cheers for sticking with your diet! That's the hardest part of all, as I'm sure we all can attest to after this week's challenge.

Jenny: You don't really have to exercise every day. It's a good thing to shoot for, but if you exercise 4-5 times a week you'll still get in shape. You're doing great!

Hi Crystal! Hope the day with the little one was a fun day.

Becca: Haven't seen you in awhile, you still doing okay? Maybe I missed a post, if so I apologize. Hope to hear from you soon.

Good morning, morning, morning.
Well, yesterday wasn't so bad. I didn't get groceries with the one, I got them with all 4. And while the three big ones were at the library, the baby and I brought the groceries home and put them away. That was nice, it's as big a job putting them up as it is buying them.
So I got on the stationary bike yesterday, first for about 25 minutes and the next time for about 15 minutes. That was nice. I think I burned the candy I ate, heeeee...heeee!
Today, we'll do school and alittle extra to make up from yesterday. Laundry and all the other chores.
Cindy, hope the little one is feeling better.
Jenny, sounds like you are doing really good. You're an inspiration to us.
Carafre, hope you had a good day and you have a good day.

Good morning Ladies :) I didnt have time to check in yesterday, as I had to go to the school...AGAIN...I am officially ready to start pulling my hair out, LOL. I got the little devil an appointment w/ his dr tomorrow morning, to talk about these behavior problems, (mainly to get the school social worker off my back) Let the labling, and over medicating begin :mad: I really just dont know what to do about all of this. I truly think that this social worker is reading way too much into some of the things Christian does. All I see is a child throwing a tantrum to get his way, they see a child "regressing to infantile behavior" and that is "obviously having some issues that need to be sorted out by a psychiatrist" :mad: I swear, if I could get him to sit down and work for me, I would home school him. These people are going to keep on until they have him labled w/ all these behavior problems, lables that will follow him all his life, (especially through school) and worse they will be wanting to put him on this or that drug to "help" him.... Sorry for the rant ladies, I could really use some chocolate right now, :dizzy:

Anyways, I have managed to do pretty well on this weeks challenge :carrot:
I havent exercised since monday though, :o
I have to give my sister and her baby a ride to the dr this morning, so seeing them should cheer me up...I'll talk to you all later, hop you all have a great, healthy day :)

Amanda - I am so sorry! I agree with you, get him in to see his pediatrician! Talk w/ him and see what he/she thinks! I've found that our pediatrician is the best at solving problems. There most surely is a way to help without meds. I wish you the best. Let your doc. know your concerns about the social worker too. I wish the best for you guys. Don't turn to the chocolate just yet!!!

Cindy - Stay strong. Chinese one night isn't going to hurt - just remember to keep your goal in sight. You can do it. Sending my positive energy your way!

:cool: Ok ladies - this will be my last post for awhile. We leave Saturday morning for Seattle. This will be our first family trip on an airplane!!! Wish me luck! I will check in if I can. Hi Carafre, good luck with your eating goals on your trip, but more importantly have fun!

If you have a good challenge, please let us know what it is! I love this week's challenge because I've really learned a lot from it. I like our challenges!

Speaking of, you may notice the :( face in my signature for today. I ate a (gulp) Filet-O-Fish at McD's. No fries, no soda, just one of those fruit parfaits to go with it. We were in a hurry, which is really no excuse. They have salads there but I was crammed in the back seat of the car with the Sir, who was fussy. Look at me, I said no excuses and I'm still coming up with them! That's how I got to where I am now, I suppose!

How was every one else's day?

I just got back from taking Christian to the dr. I have to take him to have an MRI done on his brain next tuesday, and then I have to take him to a pediatric neurologist wednesday... She said they wanted to rule out "temporal lobe seizures"...And most shocking, the dr revealed that the school social worker thinks that my mother in law has mentally abused Christian!!!!!!!!!!!! I almost fell out of the chair...Dont get me wrong, I cant stand the woman, but i KNOW that she has never done anything to Christian. I guess this means i had better make sure my house is spotless, just in case they decide to start an investigation......I really dont need all this right now....I just pray that the MRI shows a normal 6year old's brain..........

Carafre- Have a great time in Seattle!
Cynthia- You think you blew it, LOL. I ate 5 slices of pizza w/ pepperoni and extra cheese yesterday(not all at once, lol)...w/ regular full calorie soda...YIKES!

I'm not off to a good start today either, I had a hamburger kids meal from mcd's for lunch w/ fries and a coke...didnt have breakfast, as i didnt have time to eat before I had to run out the door to take Christian to the dr. tomorrow will be better...I promise, lol.

Carafre: If you're at the hotel and have found a computer to use, then hello! Hope you're doing well, we miss you already! I don't think anyone has come up with a challenge yet, so we'll all be ready for yours next week.

Alisha: Good for you for cleaning the house. Isn't that a great feeling when it's all done? And you do get great exercise. Believe it or not, that's one thing I really miss while living in this hotel. I love cleaning! (Thankfully, since I have so many cats and now a toddler!)

Amanda: That's just amazing about the social worker. Where in the world did she get such an idea? Are you going to tell your mother-in-law about it? How horrible, this is really getting out of hand. Please be strong and pm or email me if you need a shoulder to lean on. And don't worry about the pizza and hamburger. That happens sometimes and it will always happen once in awhile. The important thing is you're not eating that way all the time and can bounce right back to eating healthy stuff.

I will be going home to Tennessee tomorrow morning. Just me, leaving my hubby and the Sir to spend the weekend together. So I will be without computer access until Sunday evening. I dont know whether to tell my MIL about what the counselor suspects. She has some pretty severe depression issues, and I don't know what that kind of news would do to her... I'll leave it up to my hubby. All this just makes me so mad...Why dont they go investigate all the meth addicts who are neglecting/abusing their kids (and there is LOTS of that going on in this area right now). Hopefully we will find something that is causing Christian's behavior at school, SOON, before i have to deal w/ the idiots at CPS. I cant stand how these people seem to always find a way to blame a childs every problem on the parents/grandparents etc.. Ok...that's enough of that, I can feel my blood pressure rising, lol.

I managed to keep the 1lb loss up this week, despite my disasterous eating over the last few days. I will definitely be more careful about what goes in my mouth this week. Hopefully I can get all this crap at school straightened out soon so that life can go back to normal.

Good luck to everyone on your weigh ins. Hope you all have a great weekend...I think I am going to take the kids to see Chicken Little tomorrow...it will be nice to get out for a change...

No one checks in there but me these days :cry: I am a SAHM with 2 children: Tyler will be 2 day after Christmas, and Allie is 3.5. Up 1 Pound
 
After staying the same for the last 3 weeks, I'm up a pound this week. I'm not upset because I've really been eating badly and have gotten virtually no intentional exercise. Hubby and I took our son to the mall today and we walked around a lot. Also went to IKEA. So we both got our exercise today and then some.

How are you ladies doing this weekend?

Welcome to Slimmin' Sahmmies, Theresa! Yes, there's plenty of room here, and we can use all the cheerleaders we can get. What sort of eating plan are you following? And what sort of exercise do you do? I'm not following any plan currently. As far as exercise, I usually do the treadmill and walk my son in his stroller (he's about 15 months old), and I have a Bowflex. We've been trying to have a weekly challenge on this thread but we didn't come up with anything this week. I think the problem is we all have good ideas but no one wants to speak up and start the next challenge! But we're a great group here and you'll like us. Good luck with your goals!

Alisha: :bravo: One more pound (or should I say, one LESS pound!). Way to go!

Amanda: Congrats to you, too, on your one pound loss! That's awesome especially with everything you're going through right now. I agree about the social workers needing to figure out their priorities. Don't get me wrong, I think there's a time and place for social workers and psychologists, etc. But sometimes I wonder if they look for "problems" just to justify their own existence, especially in the schools. Everything w/ Christian just keeps getting worse, and I have to try and figure out how I am supposed to fix it all....Fortunately, losing weight should not be a problem as my nerves have me so sick that eating is near impossible....

Hi ladies, I'm a SAHM trying to bust the bulge. I just signed up for 3FC so I could have a little support. Thought I would introduce myself after I hijacked your thread. lol

I have 2 little girls with Tuberous Sclerosis. Jana my 2 year old is developmentally delayed and has uncontrolled seizures. Jamie seems to be developing just fine. :)

I seem to be stuck at my current weight, I hope that this forum will help me move passed it.

Hello, hope everyone is having a good eating and exercising day. I have eaten very well all day, but no exercise. Hubby's out of town until tomorrow, so I think I'll take the little guy shopping and we'll probably eat out. But I promise to try and make good food choices!

Julie: Welcome to 3FC! I think you'll really like it here, there is so much information all over this website. Getting stuck at a certain weight is no fun, is it? But keep at it and it will definitely come off. What sort of eating plan are you doing? And exercise? I think many of us here are challenged to fit in exercise when we have the little ones running around at home. Mine is still young enough to nap twice a day, but I have a feeling that won't last long! Good luck with your weight loss goals and please check in to our thread often!

Where is everyone else today? Is everyone else in a weigh-loss slump like I am? C'mon SAHMmies, let's rally!

I exercise about 3 times a week 20-40 mintues. It's a start, I used to do 60 minutes 6 times a week, but got out of the habit when life hit a stressful spot.

Diet is not on a specific plan. Try to cut out white flour and sugars. Cook with brown rice and whole grain pasta. Eat lean foods as much as I can, without starving myself, or going hungry. I'm basically trying to adapt my eating so that it's a lifestyle change, and not a diet. I've tried enough diets that I'm pretty sure I understand how to eat healthy, I just have to do it.

I'm trying to give up soda and that's hard, I love love love Diet Dr. Pepper. If I give up soda I eventually start to love water, and I need to get myself back to that point.

Hi Julie! That sounds like a great eating plan. That's what I've been trying, too. More veggies, less meat, less bread. I've been making a lot of brown rice, too. Have you tried cooking it in chicken stock? That adds a lot of flavor. I also like to add a few toasted slivered almonds for taste and protein. I've also cut way down on junk like chocolate and chips. For awhile there, I wasn't eating any of that stuff and was losing pretty regularly, but lately I've been slipping and the weight isn't coming off. And you're right about switching from soda to water. I'm to the point now where I don't want to drink anything except water.

Thanks ladies.

I drink about 20-32 ouces a day in the water category. :o I need to get better there. Water flushes fat, and if I don't drink enough, I'll be shooting weight loss in the foot.

I had a pot of soup in the crock pot all day yesterday, and liked that. I could just scoop a bowl when I wanted and fill myself up. I didn't feel nearly as hungry.

I suspect that I have an underactive thyroid. I fit almost all of the criteria. I've started taking a dietary supplement that helps with thyroid function. It's amazing how much better I feel. Since having kids, I have barely felt functional. I didn't realize some of it could be hormone changes. I'll see the doctor at some point after the first of the year. Our health coverage isn't the best right now, but we are opting for the expensive plan next year.

Hi ladies! Sorry I haven't checked in lately. I've been pretty stressed about the whole moving thing. But I know there are much worse problems in the world so I'm really not that upset. Just tired of it dragging on, wish it would be over.

Weight loss? What weight loss? I'm still not getting sufficient exercise, but I am eating a lot better than I have been. I got away from drinking all the water, but I'm starting to drink more again.

Alisha: How are you doing lately? Thanks for the kind words. Actually, I cheated and weighed myself this morning. I was down 3 pounds from last week! Don't know where that came from, but I'll take it.

We're a little slow here on the board lately, hopefully everyone else is doing well. I hate to make it even slower, but I'm going back to Tennessee on Saturday and won't be back until Monday or Tuesday. No internet access there. :( Also no cable, so I'll be doing a lot of reading. Hmmm... I also seem to remember there's a treadmill at our house, and a Bowflex... could it be I'll get some honest-to-goodness exercise while I'm gone? Okay, fellow Sahmmies, I'll be thinking of you all while I'm exercising. I challenge all of you to try to get a little exercise in every day as well. Deal?

I got my exercise in tonight, and I had a good work out yesterday too. I ate great today until DH brought home a pizza after school :devil: and he and I ate the whole thing ourselves. I don't remember how many slices I had :o I've never eaten that much pizza in a sitting, and still feel a bit sick from it.

Cindy, I hope your move goes smoothly! We just moved about 6 weeks ago, so I understand the stress.

Alisha, I hope your son is feeling better.

Good Morning Ladies..I've really missed you all, lol. We got Christian through the MRI and such and everything is normal (YAY) But the quack did diagnose him w/ ADHD and put him on Adderall...I took him off after 2 days because he was Halucinating!!!!!! He also became obsessed w/ washing his hands, and became severely worried over absolutely everything, and he talked non stop from the time he woke up til we finally were able to get him into bed. I am taking him back to the dr tomorrow and I am going to tell them that if they INSIST on drugging my child they are going to switch him to Strattera (its non stimulant) Christian has also been removed from the public school to the Minnick Ed. Center where he will have a Much smaller class. Hopefully everything will work out. I just cant believe all the side effects he had from that Adderall. The thing that bothers me most is that Christian does NOT meet the criteria for being diagnosed w/ ADHD! The ONLY symptom he has is impulsiveness, and everything I can find says that I child must meet 6 of the symptoms for a period of 6mos or longer. The Dr would not listen to us! And worse they told me that all the above mentioned side effects were "normal until the meds get into his system" Well, I may be a bad mom, for doing it, but I will NOT subject my child to that kind of misery.

Sorry for the rant, I am just so sick of all this. On a brighter note, despite some really horrible eating, I managed to lose weight, LOL. I am down to 207.8 lbs this week.

I'm not sure when I'll get a chance to check back in, as I have more dr appts, plus we are still dealing w/ this CPS investigation. Which actually all that is left for the CPS is for the social worker to come check out the house, and hopefully I'll have that taken care of before the end of the week.

If Christian only has 1 of the 6 symptons....why would he diag. him with ADHD. I totally don't blame you for taking him off the med! Good luck with everything! I am here for you if you need to chat!
