Dee- It will be so worth it. I had an operation a few years ago because my face would go red all the time. The doctor had to deflate my lungs and get into the nerves at my back. He cut the nerve that caused the redness. I was not really prepared for the pain in my lungs after - but it was worth every minute to not go red without a reason. I am So Vain. Doug thought I was nuts! I had my face lazered on time and looked like I'd gone a few rounds in the ring with Mohammed Ali. I once again didn't expect to look like that. I went to work the next day and scared the old folks, and I got sent home to heal. That was for spider veins on my face. I am so proud of you. You will feel so good about yourself after.
Sherry - How is the walking going? Our weather is so hot, I can't imaging walking outside.
Ramona - Don't feel bad I think most of us live month to month to pay the bills. Hang it there.
Gayle - I finally got my ticker to move again. It took me a while to get past the ice-cream set back.
Vicky - Hope you are okay.
HELLO TO ALL THE OTHER FLOOZIES
Have a Great Day Everyone.

Thanks for all the support. You gals are always there! Well I am having the surgery. The date is set for Aug 31. I am having a full tummy tuck and a breast lift. He is also doing lipo for free. Yipee! I didn't even ask about it. He said that he would do it here and there and here and there......lol My cup size will remain the same but the measurement around will be a couple of inches smaller. They remove my belly button and cut off the skin below and stretch the skin above the belly to the pubic area. They also will sew the muscle together the full length of my tummy. Which will give me a smaller waist, and hips. I am scared of what the scaring will look like but the doc said that he was hoping that it would be much better than my back surgery scar. I don't think that the scar is that bad. Before I left the nurse asked me to take off all my clothes so she could take pictures. It felt like I was the porn princess :smug: Because I am having both surgerys together(which the dr recomended) I will be saving $1350. My cost will be $8600. I actually thought that it would be between $10,000 and $12,000.

I'm glad you received good news Dee! Are you excited????? How much smaller will your waist be? With lipo, do you also lose cellulite if you have any? I have heard of people losing substantial pounds just from that procedure. Also, Miss Curious here... do you get a new belly button??????? Last question for ya... are you gong to post pictures to us???? LOL!!!

Hello

I took MIL to two doctors today. One at 8:30...1 at 10:30. It rained here so bad, I was soaked trying to get her on the walker inside her house.

Dee,
I'm really happy for you.But...PLEASE don't me mad at me for saying this... I have tried so hard to keep my big mouth shut :tape: because I didn't want to be judged on my opinion. First, I'm worried about you! You are still having back pains and on medications. Isn't the doctor worried about you being put to sleep and going under the knife again so soon? Also, I watched a talk show about people having cosmetic surgery done and once they have the first thing done, they want more and can't stop. I'm worried that you'll be so happy with the results you'll want more & more done. Does this make sense? Are you well enough to do this? I'm afraid you'll have have so much pain & discomfort from the tummy tuck and with your existing pain from your back, it will be too much for you. Please say something to make me feel better about you doing this. I know you think I'm crazy but I'm really worried. :grouphug:

Ok everyone...tell me it's none of my busisness and to shut-up!

Shelley...I forgot to answer you: I go back to school on Aug.8th...kids go back Aug.15th. I dread it!

Got to go to store & get Wayne at work.... Love to all......

ShelleyM 07-19-2005 05:46 PM

Sherry and Dee-I am so glad that Sherry voiced her opinion. I am thinking the same thing about your back. Please, please, please make sure the dr knows everything and how much pain you are in right now. I really envy the fact that you can have the procedure done, but I do think that you should think twice before doing it with all the pain you have been in for so long. I love you and don't want anything to happen to you!!

Gayle-You are so sweet!! Becky says thank you for the card. You are always so thoughtful.

bootwoman 07-19-2005 07:02 PM

Dee, that is exciting and scary at the same time. You will be one hot momma when you are finished. Good luck!

My Daniel called me at 5:45 this morning practically in tears because he was in so much pain and so sick. I got him into the doctor and the preliminary diagnosis is Lyme Disease (tick fever). Every inch of his body is inflamed and hurting. He can't eat or sleep. I hope the medicine will start working quickly, but from what I've been told, it may be weeks before he feels better. I felt so sorry for him. He may be 22, but he's still my baby.

I've got to get ready to go to my niece's wedding shower. Talk to you later....

gdeann 07-20-2005 12:45 AM

Ramona, Dan is in my prayers. Does he have a rash or open sores? Years ago, I had a reaction much like his and the doctors thought it could be Lyme disease. Mine ended up being a form of Lupus. My blood cells were fighting against each other. They were able to treat it with Predisone. PLEASE watch after him and let the doctors know if there is any change. I will be thinking of both of you.

Dee, hopefully you will make the right decision regarding the surgery. I would make sure the surgeon knows all of your medical history and also please check on him too.

Sherry, your so sweet taking MIL to the doctor!!! I take my mom again tomorrow. I think we own half of the medical center!! LOL!

I'm so excited, I couldn't sleep! I am going to test drive a Camry today! It has been 10 years since I've had a new car. Mike got a small raise, but it was enough to lease a new car for me. I won't get it until Friday or Saturday, once I pick it out.

coles 07-20-2005 07:38 AM

CONGRATULATIONS SHELLEY!! I just bought a new car last weekend. New to me anyway. I bought a Lumina.
IT IS SO MUCH FUN TO GET A NEW CAR.
ENJOY

gdeann 07-20-2005 08:57 AM

Congrats Shelley! I just love that "new car" feeling!!! Take a pic and send it to us of you & your new car!!!

Janice, congratulations to you too on a new car purchase! ENJOY!

gdeann 07-20-2005 03:57 PM

I'll be away from the board most of Thursday. Liz needs to be at the hospital at 8:00 in the morning and surgery is at 10:00. I'll let you guys know how things turn out.
Mom's appointment went well today. We will start tracking her weight, when there is an increase, we know she is accumilating fluid, I can then give her diuretics to cause her body to flush the excess fluid.

Deelite 07-20-2005 04:50 PM

Gayle I will light a candle for Liz on thursday and say prayers until I hear how she is doing. I am glad to hear that you r mom is doing better. Lol my little curious one! I would be the same. To answer your questions......thye cut out my belly button and move it up. The skin from my belly button up gets pulled down and the other stuff gets cut off. I will lose about one pound or a little more. I know I thought it would be a lot more. I do not have celullite. I will measure my waist and let you know how much of a difference it will make. I will have swelling for 4-6 weeks. If I get brave enough I will send you email pics of before and after only after the swelling goes down. The scars will fade with time.

Shelley wow a new car. What color is it? Did you decide to buy the one you test drove?

Janice you didn't share with us about your new car right away. We care, and are happy for you.

Ramona I as sorry to hear that Dan is not doing well. I hope that he has a speedy recover. My thoughts and prayers are with him.

Sherry thank you for your concerns and everyone else. I love you guys! How could I ever be mad at you? I was wondering the same thing but since no one mentioned anything I thought that I was being a wuss! I guess my concerns are legit. I will talk to my family doctor and see what he says. He only knows that I am going to see the surgeon about getting my tummy fixed. The surgeon knows what meds I am on and that my back is really bad. He also knows about my heart history. He didn't seem to concerned except he said that the recover will be a little slower.

Just so you know everyone, I decided I wanted the surgery because I figured if I am in pain, go for it, I might as well look good. The worst of it will be the first couple of weeks. After I get through that it will take a few months to fully recover when I can start to swim and do my normal activity which isn't much. I look at it this way. I am half over my life if not more, I might as well look good for as long as possible. I feel like all I have going for me right now is a pretty face. I am not good for much because of my health. I make supper and tidy the house when I can. After I exercise there isn't much more that I can do. So 1/2 the shelf life of my boobs are over so I might as well lift them up....lol Besides that I really hate the split muscle in my tummy. If I didn't have that I wouldn't consider the surgeries. I just feel deformed because of it.

Thanks for all the concerns.

ShelleyM 07-20-2005 06:35 PM

Dee-You are so funny! Just make sure the dr. knows everything.

Gayle-I will keep Liz in my prayers. Let us know as soon as you can.

I was going to get a black car, but the interior was the same color as the interior in my Saturn, so I am getting the Navy with grey interior at the insistance of Patty. They would only give us $300.00 for the Saturn, so we are keeping it. I'll probably pick it up Friday. It didn't drive as well as the Altima that I rented for the trip to Tampa, but that one is much more expensive with a V6 instead of V4, and we really can't afford to get the Nissan. I can't wait!

gdeann 07-20-2005 10:02 PM

Have fun with the new car Shelley! After you mentioned leasing, I did a search of buying vs. leasing a vehicle. I think we will probably lease now instead of purchasing after what I read about depreciation. Hopefully, one of these years, I can get a new car!!! Mine is a 1993.

I'm so mad I could just scream! I came home from swimming lessons and the air condioning unit was blowing hot air into the house (it's 103 here today) I called our peoples natural gas company (we have a $20.00 a month maintenence program with them) the lady told me it would be covered, but they now charge a $10.00 service fee, I said no problem...then she says it will be Monday before they can make it out. I tell her thank you, but I will call elsewhere because I have a daughter having surgery tomorrow and I need a comfortable house to bring her to, plus it is over 100 degrees here and they are predicting upwards of 106 degrees. She tells me to hold on and she will call in to the service guys to see if someone will come on out. After a while, she came back on the line and apologized, they still said no. I thanked her for trying to get someone out, she really tried. I have a problem with the service department. I don't mind paying $20.00 per month for maintenance, I don't mind paying $10.00 for a service call, but it pisses me off that it is so hot here and I can't get anyone out when I pay for the service. Even if it would of been a day wait, I could of handled it, but to just refuse, it urked me off to no end! We have an aquaintence who moonlights doing air conditioning work, he was able to repair it for me. Sorry, I just needed to rant!

ShelleyM 07-21-2005 05:24 AM

Gayle-Thank goodness you were able to get it repaired! I thought of sending Mike out to do it! He was in air conditioning repair before this new job. Did I tell you that I broke my MP3 when I ran in the ran the other day? It's no good now. $250.00 down the drain, and now I need music or I won't be able to make my long runs. Ugh! I still have one that is just 128mb, so I'll have to use that one until I can get a new one. I hate to go out and charge a new one when we are just going into more debt with this lease.
