Missed one!
skinnyjeans! :cp:
I apologize! |
Can I start over?
Help!! After 2 days meeting my goals, everything fell apart today. Had to leave for a 3-hour trip as soon as I got up, then spent the rest of the day and evening sheltering from the heat in my stepmother's house, which reeks of tobacco smoke. And no evening walk or anything: the 2 days on the rebounder really aggravated my foot problems, my right foot and sciatica are really not happy about the drive... Lots of excuses, but I know I could have done some pushups or stretches or something.
As for my no junk food goal, I actually did pretty well, apart from the scoop of Cool Whip on my fruit. But then there was a vile greasy spoon burger :cbg: about an hour ago. At least I'm not hungry anymore, and tomorrow is another day. I still feel a tiny bit virtuous: I said no to wine three times (very hard for me), and didn't eat even one of the wafer cookies on the coffee table. And instead of the awful burger, I could have gone next door to my hotel to Tim Hortons  for donuts and coffee with a ton of cream and sugar, so... So Canada Day has not been totally successful. But it could have been so much worse! What I really need is to receive a lot of supportive :goodvibes!, and a whole lot of nice crisp veggies. Because as Scarlett said, tomorrow is another day. Carla |
Chin up!
Carla - believe me - you're human! We all have setbacks and worse than what you experienced Friday. Last week I ate 3 Krispy Kreme donuts in one evening! Tomorrow is another day and you have the opportunity to triumph over temptation all over again. You did fantastic in the face of a very challenging situation. One scoop of cool whip is not evil or junk food - 3 scoops of cool whip is a different story.
As far as virtuous - consider there is no such thing as a tiny bit virtuous. ;) Forget the spoon burger because it has nothing to do with the resolve and tenacity it took to say no to the wine and the cookies! That is total virtuousity! :strong: In parenting, in work and in life I stopped focusing on what was done wrong -its over and done with and it cannot be changed. Leave it where it belongs -in the past. Give up "shoulding" on youself. :) Instead I like to focus on what I did right because that affects my now and future, positively. You did great and you will do great tomorrow! I know I will posting an award for you. :cheer: mscat |
I did it! met my challenge. 10 minutes on the elliptical today.

It's quiet out there!
I know everyone is busy with the holiday but . . .
KUDOS TO PRINCESS!!!!!:cp: Don't forget to check in on Sunday everyone so we can post the end of the week tallies. If you have lost any weight during the week let's hear about it so we can all cheer for you! Enjoy! mscat |
Maybe the glass really is half full!
Well, Mscat, thank you for the wise advice. I do have a tendency to look at my failings instead of my successes, and the last two days have actually been quite a success. I coped with two days travel and visiting my very difficult, annoying, chain smoking, opiniated stepmother. And while I didn't get my exercise in, my other goal was to eat nothing sugary, and I agree that a scoop of Dream Whip with its measly 50 calories is not really a transgression. So in retrospect, I've met the food half of my goal Fri and today.
My sore feet are feeling better, I have another 9 days before going back to work with all its temptations, and I see some good things in the weeks ahead. Thanks to all for the support. :) Carla |
Back on track!
Well, I am feeling pretty proud of myself. After my post at 9:30, I realized I was making excuses again. So I did 2 x 11 minutes on the rebounder, went for a 30 min gentle walk with a friend, and then walked up the 114 steps from his appartment to mine. I feel like I've wiped out my Friday no-exercise blues. I am woman! I am strong! I can hardly wait to weigh in tomorrow!

Checking in
Carla - you are welcome - what an inspiration you are to us all. Keep it up!
I am going to wait until this evening to post kudos for the day and give everyone a chance to check in. Tomorrow a.m. based on what comes in by this evening we will see what everyone's totals are for the week and who lost pounds! I am excited for all of us as we finish our first week together. Have a great weekend! mscat  |
I didn't meet my challenges for last week but I did lose one pound. My challenge for next week is to drink 60 oz water and 20 on my elliptical. I know it's the same as last but seeing as I didn't accomplish my goals last week. I need to keep on this one as well.

I take Sunday's off from exercise, but not from my food plan. So, I have no exercise to report for today. I would like to share what was a major success for me. I am in the middle of a 3 day extended family reunion. Today I spent 6 hours in the park surrounded by food, including very tempting junk food -- my favorite of which a generous soul happened to place right in front of me. I went un tempted. I ate before I went. I drank water and diet sodas during the afternoon. I kept my hands clean so that I could take some of my favorite thing, but did not. I was not among people with whom I felt completely free to be myself. No binges there and no binges after coming home.

oops. I forgot to mention that my weight has remained the same.
For this coming week, my goals are: to exercise on the elliptical 4 days for 12 minutes or better to exercise at Curves 2 days (I'm skipping the two machines that exercise the glutes because the ellipitical does an excellant job of that and I do not want the glutes to get bigger!). to listen to a weight reduction tape 2/day for 7 days and journal for 7 days |
I made my two goals today. I also went the whole day with no pop. Pop is a big problem for me.
