TGIF!

Well it is friday and DH should be home soon.. so probably wont be on for the weekend. Sounds like a lot of you are having rotten weather.. It has been sunny and hot here for a week! looks like we might get a little rain here today though... it is muggy and the bugs are fierce.. always a good sign of rain. Not much going on here.. got a few calls for Watkins stuff yesterday.. so that is good.. It has been around here for a long time and not a lot of people sell it anymore, and the toilet cleaner is the only thing that works on teh hard water stains around here... i have already sold about 10 or 12 bottles of it!! and the bug lotion... Ah well i will be back probably on sunday or monday.. Have a GREAT week-end Ladies... TTFN XXOO

FrouFrou 05-27-2005 10:42 AM

Good morning chickies!

Terri~I agree...TGIF! Not sure why, but it always feels good when Friday rolls around. At least this weekend except for a few hours on Sat and Monday DH has the weekend off. Hope your family has a wonderful weekend!

Not much to say...getting ready to jump in the shower and head to Target. Need to pick up some laundry detergent and a couple of chairs for the deck. Took the furniture off of it to put on the patio and it's too bare now except for a few flowers. And of course have a couple of loads of laundry to do. The great thing about the washer and dryer is I can load it and leave! Of course it will beep until it is turned off but if no one is home it doesn't matter. :D Love the dryer because when it goes off it will beep and after a minute it will turn on for a few seconds, beep, turn on...so the clothes don't get wrinkled. Anyway...I'll be back later.

RosieKate 05-27-2005 11:06 AM

TGIF!

Yahoo- got all our permits yesterday.....we have to wait for a visit from Erosion Control, then we can start digging! DH says the permits are good for 6 months, so I just keep humming my mantra, "Done by Christmas...Done by Christmas"..Will try to keep photo progress posted.....We are slowly coming to grips withthe fact that we will probably have to dig out ourselves as we can't get a bobcat back there without tearing down some major shrubbery. I'm going to look at it as an exercise opportunity..should get some decent biceps and shoulders out of it....lol

Today is going to be 90plus degress here..bleah... we had so much rain and now the weather has turned on a dime...going to take DD to park this morning, then probably play in the kiddie pool while we wait for EC.

Have a great Friday, everyone!

Good morning ladies,
Katy what a positive attitude to all the hard work that is facing you....lol Shoveling is a good cardio work out plus with so much work it can also be called a weight training. Just remember to stretch before and after.

Marti, working your shift would be hard on anyones body,,,while the world is mostly asleep you are at work,,,IVe done the night shift and found it hard on my system.

Terri, we have calicum big time here,,,have to clean with lime.calicum away,,,Im so used to that now that if we go somewhere where the water is really soft I hate washing my hair cause it never feels like Ive got all the stuff out of it,,,

Cristi, I am loving my washer too....we didn't get the dryer but Monte has said we should put a few dollars aside for when we do need one we can get the matching dryer,,,the new washer is so good that I barely have to use teh drier as much,,,instead of an hour we use 40 minutes.

I have the day off but will be going to a funeral in Eckville,,which is the neighbouring town from Sylvan. My friend Colleen has now lost her dad,,,her mom was 8 yrs back. I also have to go and talk some sense into my step dad. My mom called to say shes worried about his health,,,and he won't listen to her about going to the Dr. so shes called in the heavy machinery...me. I noticed the last time I was there that he was pretty thin...
Id much raither stay home and do all the lil things that need doing but,,,this trip can't be avoided.
I never did get a call from the tv show,,,and Im cool with that,,,just one less stress in my life.
Brandon's graduation is on Wed. we are having the party June 25 in Sylvan,,,then he has his surgery on the 30th oh ya.
well I should get myself out the door,,,hate driving on the highway on a Friday...arghh the traffic

toodles

FrouFrou 05-27-2005 04:04 PM

I'm back again! Finally!

Not sure what the heck happened but I posted earlier and when I hit submit the site went down and haven't been able to get back on till now! Of course I see it didn't take my post, UGH! Anyway...

Katy~thanks for sharing the pics! The are great and the kids are getting big! I especially like the family pic, very nice-you guys are a nice looking family! Are you guys excited to finally get the construction started? I know everytime we do something to the house I get excited, even if it is planting a shrub, LOL. It will be over before you know it and the end result will be well worth the trouble, just keep smilin' :D Can't wait to see pics of it all.

Angie~(((((HUGS))))) to your friend and her family. So hard losing a loved one. I do hope you manage to talk your step-dad into going to the doc. Men can be so stubborn sometimes. Know what ya mean about the washer...the spin cycle is GREAT! It is so good that when I take the clothes out they feel like they are dry. Needless to say...when I do a heavy load they dry in one hour as opposed to 2 or 3 like before. CONGRAT'S to Brandon next week! Boy, they grow fast don't they?

Hi to everyone else wherever you are! Hope you are having a great day!
Well, don't remember what I said in the post that I lost. I probably won't be around much this weekend. I'm sure I mentioned it...we are starting the fence, weather permitting. V will dig the holes tomorrow, Sunday set the posts and get started on the rest Monday. Hoping to have it all done, with the exception of staining it, in two weeks. Just depends on how much he has to work. We will stain it a couple of weeks after it is done and has been up. So should be a fun weekend. And of course I will be taking pics. We always do a before, during and after. I actually have a scrapbook and a photo album. The photo album will be passed on/left for the new homeowners when we move. Anyway...

Whatever everyone is doing this weekend, whether it be working around the house, traveling to a fun destination...be safe and have a fun, wonderful Memorial weekend!

Marti 05-27-2005 04:51 PM

Hi girls--

Sounds like it will be pretty scarce here over the weekend. I've got plans to work in my yard...trim up the edges of the yard and mow some more before it gets too long again!!

As Katy mentioned, the weather here is HOT!! And it's hard to adjust when you just had cold rain last week!

Terri--Have a great weekend. Do you have plans? Enjoy it all!

Cristi--The dryer sounds fantastic! I would love to have something to remind me that I forgot my clothes are getting wrinkled! I wasn't able to get on the site earlier either. There must have been some maintence or something going on.

Angie--I don't really mind the night shift. It's James' shift that throws me off. He doesn't have set schedule...he just works when they need him and so I try to stay awake if he's leaving around the time I'm coming home so I can see him more. Plus...this week I'm PMSing and I'm always tired then!

Katy--Love the photos! Your family is adorable! I really enjoyed the B & W photos. They are great ones to have blown up and hung up in the house! Glad you shared those w/us!!

Hello to all that haven't made it in yet!

Oh I am so glad it's friday and that I have a THREE day weekend. I get to have normal sleeping hours!! :D No plans but the yard....may go take Jhanai out to lunch somewhere but don't know what her and her dad have planned.

Ok...I need a shower.

Have a great Friday and a great weekend to those who will be busy!!

Jane 05-27-2005 08:46 PM

Hiya ladies,

Karey - Neal and I are big Lost fans, too. I was really surprised that Carrie got her baby back. Now what about poor Walt??

Marti - enjoy your weekend! We're having Neal's brother in on Sunday, so I've been planning for that.

Sue - :bravo: for not using food as a reward! :cp: You'd never get to goal that way! Btw, we've got fresh strawberries galore - wish I could share with you!

Cristi - did I know you're moving?? Or do you just mean eventually? Anyway, have a good one!

Angie - sounds like you are a busy lady as usual!

Katy - OMG!! I can't believe how great you look! How much have you lost now? Even with your DS standing in front of you, it's very obvious that you have lost a lot! WTG!!!!!

Terri - glad you're doing well with the Watkins products!

Well, as I told Marti, Neal's brother Paul will be here Sunday for a Memorial Day dinner, so I've been working on the plans for that. Also on Sunday, Neal begins ball practice. He and Dale are going to be playing on the church softball team. I'll be going to all the practices and games, and can't wait!

Right now, there is a heck of a storm brewing, so I'm going to post this before my power goes out!

TTFN

Mom2Gaby 05-28-2005 01:04 AM

Good night!

Is it hot enough for you Katy?? lol Waaaaaay hot. Sitting in my AC office not wanting to go home. Lovely pictures!! The BW is so neat, need to do that with my girls.

Eveyone sounds so busy and I know this whole subject is boring you to tears. At least it is me but I will say Gaby didn't go with her father today. He called at 10 am saying he was on the coast waiting for a check. Could he get Gaby later in the weekend?? I said I would think about it. I really needed to go because I had to figure out what to do with Gaby.

I ended up taking her to Doug's for the day.

Mike and I talked for a few minutes. He seemed ok and was open to me writing down foods Gaby might disagree with, he said he called on the car seat.
We started getting into area's that had nothing to do with Gaby and said I had to go.

The area was something.....I forget. I did say I thought it was mean how last weekend he said he didn't have to tell me anything about where Gaby was going to be.
He responded that I went to Hawaii and he didn't know where Gaby was,.,.,,,,

I said that was a different ballpark. We weren't even talking back than. There was also no order in place that we had to follow.

Just another example of him always bringing up the past.

So, anyway. I called his father. Because I knew he had been in Portland the day before. His father said that was true. He had come in town to get the girls.

So, why did he go back home? Seems strange to me. Or I am just paranoid.......

Anyway, Rocky and my mother said to let him see Gaby. So , I left a message that he could come and get Gaby if he let me know when by 10 am Saturday.

He paged me at 2 pm and I called back. Now he was saying he wasn't coming in after all......that he was going to ask for 3 rd party pick up , that he couldn't get along with me and me putting him down.

huh?? I must have missed something. lol

I was trying to be nice, I didn't have to let him see her at all once he misses his pick up time.

He went on about my mental health and I said that was enough I had to go.

He continues to belittle me and my mental state........starting to feel emotionally abused by the man.

anyway, i better go.........I have Gaby though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY. Happy Days are here again.

FrouFrou 05-28-2005 01:47 PM

Hi ladies and a very happy Saturday!

Taking a break for a few minutes. I know...a break from what?! Someone has to supervise the men! Didn't take long at all to dig the holes and clean up the dirt around them. Vince & Josh are out trying to find posts. Even though they are doing it tomorrow and was going to wait till tomorrow to get them, V had to go get some of the stuff and saw that they didn't have any, AAHHH!! So they are going to the different Lowes trying to track some down and I have nothing to do but wait. Well, I probably could find something to do, like laundry. Crossing my fingers that it doesn't rain tomorrow or Monday like they are saying on the weather. :crossed: At least he (Vince) has S, M & T off if it does, has to go into work later this afternoon for a few hours. Anyway, sorry for going on about the fence...just so excited about it getting started finally. Had Josh mow the yard yesterday so the dirt wouldn't be piled up if he mowed today liek he usually does. He said he would mow if I would mow the back. Let me tell ya, it has been years since I mowed a lawn and I am so out of shape even though I have been exercising regularly. It almost killed me but I did it! Now I am thinking about doing it more often just for the exercise, man talk about a work out! It's the sides that get me because they are uphill.

Jane~yes, I do mean somewhere down the line. Have no plans of moving for at least 10 years! And who knows what will happen down the road, may just end up staying here longer. Originally our plan was to stay here 10 years and move back to the country, can't believe we have been here 1 year and 3 months already. First DH played on a team at work and it was fun to go to the practices and games so I know you will enjoy watching Neal and Dale. Have a great Sunday dinner with your BIL.

Marti~glad you get a 3-day weekend, hopefully you get some time with James too. Enjoy the outdoors and try not to get too hot.

Susan~I would have to say Mike is the one with the mental problems, of course we all know that already. Wish there was some way you could get all this down and prove all the stuff he is saying so the court would see he is unstable and a liar. I don't know why the court most of the time seem to favor the father and take their side, it's just crazy to me. Just keep your chin up, take deep breaths and smile at him. When do you guys finally have your day in court?

Hi to everyone else

Well, ladies, guess I better go start a load of laundry and get that out of the way, maybe vacuum also and while I wait for the guys get back. Supervising is a hard job but someone has to do it! :D

Take care ladies and have a GREAT weekend!

Marti 05-28-2005 02:10 PM

Morning all!

Jane--I hope you have a great visit w/BIL. I sure wish you could sent some of your strawberries!! I love them and Jhanai REALLY loves them. She would rather just eat them as is instead of shortcake. :)

Susan--Sounds like Mike is emotionally abusive. Likes to make himself sound like the victim. Glad you have Gaby right now!!

Cristi--The weather went from 90's yesterday to rain when I woke up! But it's suppose to clear and get up to 80's. This weather this year is just TOO crazy!

Well James has most of the day off....he'll probably work later on tonight, so we plan on doing a BBQ and just hanging around the house today. He's getting ready now so I better get my self cleaned up too. We want to take a drive (or at least I do! ) around the lake.

Have a great weekend!!

Marti 05-29-2005 11:05 AM

Good Morning!

It was a thundery day yesterday and the rain was pretty much non-stop! All I could think of was the campers out there for Memorial Day Weekend. I really wanted to work on the yard but instead....

I got to spend the entire day w/James!! We drove around town, did some shopping and then cuddled on the couch watching the movie "Duplex" . He didn't even have a day off, it was just a lucky thing that he didn't get called out.

I hope the sun decides to come out today, but I if not, there is always the house to organize.

I hope you're all having a great Sunday. I'll check in later on.

da fat n da furious 05-29-2005 11:45 AM

Good morning ladies,
Marti what a nice day to snuggle on the couch....rainy and with your favorite guy...lol So was the movie good? Have wanted to see that one.

Katy have to say the same as Jane you have lost alot of weight and it shows...WTG!

Susan, don't take what Mike says to heart,,,its obvious to all that hes the one with the mental problems...which if he wants to keep bringing up the past can really look bad for him...his past looks pretty bad.

Cristi, I love when things start to get done....fence, and deck,,,you will be sitting in the sun in the back relaxing in no time...

Not much happening today,,,I finally cleaned my flower beds,,,pathetic thats its almost June,,,going to go buy some bedding plants and pop them in the ground...before my parents show up on Wedn for Bran's grad. Found rabbit poo in the dirt around my pernninials...arghhh
My friend Shawna is moving today and Motne offered his big truck so we have to go and give her a hand with that, plus Tanner is doing a mini football camp today,,,arghhh footb all already? geesh I still have nightmares of last season. Plus since Tanner has barely anything else to do hes wanting to audition for the young canadians...*sigh and of course the play Evita is coming so hes already set for that one...need to sit down with the boy and let him know hes killing me...lol
Anyways need to go take a claititon,,,breaking out in a major rash...love them allerigies...
toodles

Mom2Gaby 05-29-2005 12:32 PM

...

Good Morning!

Gaby and I are heading for church via way of Starbucks.lol

Had a good day yesterday with the girls. We watched Stepmom last night and I cried. So sad.....when Susan Sarandon said "I have their past and you will have their future"......because she was dying and Julia Roberts was going to be their stepmom........whhhhhaaaaaa........

Gaby is in good spirits, so funny and relaxed. I am happy to see her like that.

Need to work later on today and finish up my newsletter.

THANKS for being so nice. I know he is the one with problems. He is mean.......

Court trial date is July 27th.

Though we have the custody evaluation date where we give our money sometime before the 15 of June......

better get!!

Hope u all have a good day!!

Jane 05-30-2005 08:58 AM

Happy Memorial Day!

Marti - glad you had such a good time with James. I've still got sooooo many strawberries! I like them w/o sugar now, and don't usually eat shortcake with them, either. However, I did make strawberry pies for the cookout yesterday, and had a piece of that. Yum! Are you off today, too, since it's a holiday?

Cristi - oic about the move! Your patio will be so nice when it's finished. Hope you aren't too sore from mowing. You're right - it's great exercise. Not that I would know that from first-hand experience, lol, since it's been years since I mowed with a walk-behind mower. I did learn to use the riding mower last year, and have to say it was kind of fun! Glad Vince has lots of days off, and hope you have lots of fun!

Angie - what kind of flowers are you going to buy? The annuals sure brighten up a yard, don't they? Are you having a party for Brandon, and am I invited, lol.

Susan - I saw and loved the movie Stepmom. The movie came out not too long after my sister died from cancer, so parts of it was really hard for me to watch. But I especially liked the part where Susan Sarandon told Julia Roberts no about the concert, then got the tickets herself for the girl, lol.

We had a great time with Neal's brother, Paul. I ate too much, and feel sluggish because of it. :( He wants us to meet up in Nashville, IN, and meet his girlfriend later this summer. I already know that I like her because she makes him happy.

Today I hope to just veg out. We don't have any special plans, thank God!

Hope you and yours have a great day!!

Hugs to all the soldiers who continue to keep the USA free!!

tlprocks 05-30-2005 09:05 AM

Good Monday Morning!
Hello Ladies... Wow weekend are so busy... trying to cram all sorts of stuff into 2 days!

Cristi: Mowing the lawn is a good workout!! I have to get my push one fixed.... we use my dads riding one to do most of the yard...(an acre is a little much with a push one)... but there are a lot of places i dont want to go with the riding one.. so i need the push one!

Katy: Aww the pics are adorable! i love the one where your son is kind of pinching your little girls cheeks! so cute and typical lol!

Angie: Here we have iron and i think a little sulphur by the smell of the water.. i really need to get it checked! anything that the water touches it leaves build up on... lime away .. even clr doesnt work.. the only think that i have found to work is the watkins!

Marti: WEll we didnt have any plans for the weekend.. we were just running all over..lol... trying to get stuff done while he was home! I hear thunder here... we had a nice hot week.. but looks like that might be over lol

Jane.. I think your thunder came here lol... it might pass though.. i have only heard one rumble. Ya i can't believe the Watkins thing.. i really only signed up so me and my MIL could buy stuff from there dicounted... little did i know that everyone around here likes Watkins lol.

Susan: My hubby tells everyone i am mentally unstable... i hate that... But what is Mike to talk to you about mental instability... sounds like he is the one that is unstable! just my 2 cents.

WEll hello to all the JLs... i should probably get going before i lose power and my post... TTFN xxoo

tlprocks 05-30-2005 09:17 AM

Jane you snuck in.... i forgot it was a holiday in the states... hope you are ll having fun!

Mom2Gaby 05-30-2005 10:11 AM

Good Morning,

Beck is watching Gaby and I am going to sneak up to Starbucks for some coffee and pick up donuts!

Gained this weekend,,,,,,,154 - yikes!

Anywho,,,,,,,I will get it back down.

Susan Sarandon is so beautiful and I noticed they dressed her in a lot of shades of oranges - so pretty with her hair.

Thanks Terri :) my ex husband did that a lot also when I was with him. Just a sign of someone trying to keep you under their control - total BS and Mike ended his air time with me.
We can't get through a conversation without him making a dig . So, if he wants to talk about Gaby - great.
Otherwise I will be hanging up the phone on him.

K- better get! Busy weekend with the kids and I was up at 4 am going over my budget. lol........high finances here.........NOT.

:) lol

Have a safe holiday!

Neets 05-30-2005 02:12 PM

Hi Ladies,

Long time now talk, I know. What with the holiday in Canada last weekend things were extra busy at work. I work in the electrical industry and we sell those garden lights so everyone is wanting them for their gardens. PITA I tell you but what can you do.

Last week was also particularily horrid both food and exercise wise. If it wasn't nailed down I ate it, and if I could I rested on my butt as much as possible. I've been feeling particularily BLEH due to the arrival of TOM, so hopefully my mood can only improve.

Anyway, I took out my journal again last night and started to write again. (don't know why I stopped to begin with) It's time I started to be more accountable again. I've also started to read Dr. Phil's book again. I know I need the extra boost right now.

Anyway, I did read all the posts from last week so I think I am pretty much caught up.

JANE How was katy's party? Everything went well I hope?

SUSAN You know what hun? I seriously agree with TERRI. I think you need a more professional lawyer. It doesn't seems as if he/she? is very professional. They should be communicating with Mike's Lawyer for imformation. As for Mike not having to let you know where he is going? Ummm YES he DOES. He seriously needs a slap upside the head. The guy is psycho. The stress he causes you is terrible. JMHO. for what it's worth.

ELLEN Hang in there Hun. HUGE HUGS!!! :grouphug:

KAREY Welcome. I too have a year old baby girl. Her name is Joycelyn (pronounced Jocelyn) and she turned a year old in April. When is your darling angel's birthday?

Well ladies, I gotta go. Time to get back on track. The LEATHER COAT is waiting for my return this fall. LOL.

Anita

suetalks 05-30-2005 03:14 PM

Good afternoon and Happy Holiday to you all. I hope you are all enjoying nice sunny weather and having a fun day.
I have been doing the normal Mon. wash and iron chores. No holiday plans for us. It looks like rain, so I am going to go weed for awhile before it either rains or the sun comes out hot and bright.
I will be back tonight.

Mom2Gaby 05-30-2005 09:13 PM

Mike doesn't have a lawyer Anita - :) I am just going to stay away from email this week and enjoy Gaby. Not going to care about car seats or custody evaluations........I am exhausted.

Time to enjoy Gaby and the other girls. Gaby is a delight. We spent most of teh day in the yard.....walked , played on a tire swing. It was fun for a change.

Going to do laundry now.......yay, tomorrow we can go back to work!! :)

Marti 05-30-2005 10:14 PM

Evening ladies--

Had a busy day. I spent a couple hours mowing and weeding the yard. Then I've been messing w/my extra room trying to make a space for scrapbooking and crafts.

I was just watching Opration Reunion.....and I had to get away. Tears were just flowing down my face!! Anyone hear of that show? It's about family members being reunited w/someone who is stationed in Iraq. Very emotional. It's still on, but I needed a break.

Angie--I liked Duplex. It was funny. It was also very irratating!! But good. Sure hope your allergies are getting better. I've heard that the pollen count is very high. Try and get some relaxation before you start another play! Maybe you ought to take another vacation soon!!! Tell your family that if they need you, you'll be in the tropics getting pampered by the Cabana boys! :D

Susan--I've seen Stepmom. I thought that was a good movie too. They both played a good part and it was an emotional movie. Couldn't keep the tears in towards the end of the movie!

Jane--Glad you had a great time w/your BIL. Always good to visit w/family. So when are you and Neil going to Nashville? :) You can always tell when someone makes a perfect match for someone.....when they're both happy and just can't talk enough about each other! I had this one girl ask me how long James and I have been together, and when I told her it's almost 7yrs she said: Wow, the way you talk about him I thought you haven't been together long. Made me smile!

Terri--We didn't have any plans for this weekend either. I did manage to get my yard work done and half of the office room done. Tonight I will be tackling it to finish cleaning it up! So as long as we got stuff done that needed to be done, that means we can relax more right???? (probably not but it's a good thought anyway! )

Ellen--Hugs to you!! Just know, that even though you may not really know this girl yet, that she may be the best thing that has happen to your son and your son being the best thing that has happened to her. And a beautiful baby to give tons of hugs and kisses to!! I hope things all work out just fine.

Anita--Good to hear from you. I haven't been doing so well w/the eating department myself. But it's more like....I need to eat I know I do, so why aren't I? I had gone to the dentist last week and ever since then, it's been painful. Plan on dragging my bike out of the shed soon and start riding it. Good exercise!

Sue--I hope you don't get much rain as we did on Saturday! We had a thunderstorm and boy, the rain would not stop! So I was really surprised to see any sun today!

Hello to everyone I may have missed.

Ok....I'm going to go tackle this room I'm sitting in. Go out to the patio and enjoy the weather while it's still nice out and do some laundry. Not necessarily all in that order! You all have a good night!

suetalks 05-30-2005 11:57 PM

I did some weeding and got my walk in ..after attacking the laundry and ironing. It never did rain, just got cloudy for awhile.
My eating (or not eating) is going great so far. The exercise....well, lets just say that I started off gung ho and have slowed down some, but I am still walking every day. I lost the 5 pounds I had gained, which means I am back to square one, but that is better than being over square one, so I am not complaining.

Marti, Yardwork is not my cup of tea, so I am glad I don't have to do much of it. Good exercise though. I might be asking your advice on some scrapbooking issues. I have never done it and plan to start....going to Hobby Lobby to look at supplies this week. I'm sure I will be lost.

Anita, I think I will get the Dr. Phil book. Let me know what you think about it. I don't journal, but I did write down what I ate last week and it helped me alot. Actually at lunch I even wrote down what I was having for dinner. It seemed to keep me on track.

Susan, Hang in there. I just thank goodness you got away from a controling man. Look how far you have come. Glad you got to enjoy the girls.

Ellen, You hang in there too. I say congrats are in order for your first grandchild!! Things have a way of working out!

Jane, I hope you got to veg out. You deserve it after all you have done the last few weeks.

Okay, I told Marti I was starting a scrapbook. I have decided to make one of pictures from my sons life and add a few pages of family pictures. This I will give to...guess who? My son has called me and told me he is in love. He is probably going to get engaged this summer. We are excited and pleased for him, as he just sounded so darn happy. The best part, the girl is an old friend of his from here. They "hung out" in school, but never dated because he went with one girl all through high school. He and this friend called and e-mailed and then visited. Love blossomed! She even came here to see us the other night. A real sweetheart. We couldn't be happier for them. The timing isn't the greatest as he has 2 more years of law school, but things don't always happen at the right time. I wouldn't have him miss these feelings for anything. Soooo, now that I talked and talked, I was just going to say the scrapbook is for her. Do you think that is a stupid idea?

Marti 05-31-2005 02:34 AM

Sue--Stupid idea?? Absoulutely not! That is a perfect gift and I would have LOVED to have one of James if his mother was into that sort of thing. I think she'll love it and cherish it! So I think it's a wonderful idea. You'll have fun creating it too...it brings back so many memories and you get to be creative. Any questions you have, I hope I can answer. Just have lots of fun!

Just wanted to check in. I went over to my friends this evening and chatted for a couple hours and had a glass of wine. So much for cleaning up my office room! Will have to tackle that tomorrow or maybe do a couple things it bit.

My tooth is aching so I doubt I'll do much cleaning...I think I'm done for the night.

Have a great night ladies!!

Hugs to all!

Jane 05-31-2005 07:54 AM

ARGHHHHHHHHH!!! I had a long post and lost it!! &^%$#@&&^%!!!

Let me try this again <sigh!>

Ellen - at least your dd is not far away, and you'll be able to see her often. About the other news - how wonderful to have a baby on the way! Your DS and the mama can work out the details, but regardless of what they do, you'll still have a sweet grandchild to love and spoil. Hopefully they will stay together - that would be great. When is the little one due? Now that you have all the extra room in your house, maybe you could make a nursery for when the baby visits you. How soon until we know if you'll need to buy pink things or blue things? Oh how exciting this is!! There is NOTHING to compare with being a grandma!!

Terri - hope your storm wasn't too bad! We were supposed to get rain here, and need some so badly, but never did get any.

Susan - Vincennes got a new Starbucks a couple of weeks ago. Katie and her friends hang out there sometimes, but I've never been. I get my java fix from Neal, lol. He's the coffee maker around here, lol.

Anita - Katie's party was great! We had lots of fun. YAY for you getting back on track. :cp: Makes you feel good to be back in control, doesn't it?

Sue - I love the idea of a scapbook for your future DIL. Like Marti, I would've loved something like that from my MIL. Do we know when the wedding is yet? Oh wait... I think you said they aren't officially engaged yet, lol. Let us know, ok?

Marti - Paul is going to let us know which weekend is best for him. He's going with a group from his church to do mission work in Africa, so we will have to work around that. Glad you had a good time with your friend. I'm going to have a lunch and invite several of mine over at once, since I've been neglecting them. Seems like I've just been too busy! So sorry about your tooth! Didn't you just go to the dentist?

Neal's first ballgame is tonight. Here's hoping he has lots of fun and will make a point or two for the team while he's at it. I'll be sitting on the sidelines - his personal groupie, lol.

Take care and I'll yap at ya later! :D

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...se1/Baby1c.gif GOOD MORNING EVERYONE
I just wanted to pop in for a few minutes, and say hello, I am trying to get things done here, I feel a little unwound with so many changes. The baby's due date is jan, 21 and we should know if its a little boy or girl in a couple of months, so you girls will be the first to know. I have been thinking of turning one of the empty bedrooms into a nursery, I would really enjoy that, its been a long time since I had a baby to hold, and I know it will fill my heart. I guess I was unfair, making judgements on their relationship, who am I to decide whats right and wrong.if they are happy I am happy , thats all that matters.I have been under so much stress the last 8 months,I don't know what to feel anymore. A baby is a blessing and one I look forward to. My daughter seems to have settled into her new house and life fine, they are both very happy, and I am happy for them. I talk to her online , when she has a moment at work, and she came for lunch yesterday. The house is quiet a night, and I haven't slept well for the past three nights. I have to find a way to get things pulled together, life doesn't wait for you to catch up does it. I hope everyone is doing well, I will try to do individuals tomorrow, the coffee maker is calling my name, and a paint brush needing to brush, so I will talk to you girls later, Have a wonderful day.

Neets 05-31-2005 01:41 PM

Hi ladies,

Hope today is being good to everyone! I had a fantastic workout this morning. It really does set the tone for the whole day. I have to go though, work is super busy and we are one person down today.

Anita

Marti 05-31-2005 03:34 PM

Afternoon my friends!

Jane--I did go to the dentist. And instead of a cleanup, they poked and prodded to get an idea of what kind of work I need on them. I need the one tooth that is broken looked at by a specialist, and I need my wisdom teeth (3of them) pulled and a couple cavities filled. I must have been a dentists nightmare! But ever since I was there, my wisdom teeth have been bothering me and they haven't bothered me for quite some time!! Really irratating. :( What a great thing to have a luncheon for your friends!! I told James that we need to get a couple of our friends over for a BBQ this summer. Figure out how to manage a day off for the both of us and his friends. Wouldn't it be great if you could do it up like one of Oprah's luncheons!! Sure wish I was on her invite list!!

Ellen--Jan 21st is my neices birthday! Mine is the 19th and my nephews is the 15th! (I say she should try for my birthday!!) :D You know, it is totally understandable that you felt like you were making judgements on their relationship, it's new and now there is a baby on the way. You just want whats best for your children. A very understandable thing. And you can always let them both know that you'll always be there for them if they need you. You're going to be a wonderful grandma!! And the nursery idea sounds wonderful!! If you do, make sure you take pictures so we can see how it turned out.

Anita--I'm so proud of you and getting in your exercises this morning!! If my arms weren't so numb....(what an excuse!) I would do my gazelle. But as I look at this room I'm sitting in, I know I need to work on it before work. I'll be moving and rearranging. That will be a workout!

Hello to everyone else!! I hope you're enjoying your day!

As I mentioned, I need to finish up this room and get some of the clutter cleared away. So I best be getting.

Have a great day!

Mom2Gaby 05-31-2005 05:08 PM

I wrote this in my parents group. .............

Coping.

My parents never taught me coping skills. I struggle now with that.

No surprise. I chatter, chatter to get my thoughts and feelings out.
Sometimes though I think it would be a good thing just to be still.

As a child I ate, and as an adult I eat, still ,to cope with stress.
To shove food down my throat to hide the pain and stress that life
brings.

My oldest daughter who is 13 is "superficially" taking a razor and
marking her arm up. That is really a private thing and I wonder why I
bring it up now????

Because I think I have taught her how to cope when I really haven't.

The thought of my baby screaming for help makes me feel like a
failure, makes me feel I forgot to show her a piece of lifes puzzle,
makes me feel like a fool.

Makes me realize how can I teach her something that I haven't learned
myself?

So,her father and I took her to the doctor this morning and she told
us while we waited for the doctor that she did it again last night.

That she hates hearing us argue ( like we did yesterday) and we do it
in front of her.....and she hates that, and the stress is too much
for her.

That is a fine "how do you do."

I would love to type that it is all her fathers fault. He sits there
and treats her like an adult. But come on Susan......she is your
baby....where is your responsiblity in this mess??

What steps can I take in changing my life???? When I think I am
growing up it is a b&^%$ to realize I am nowhere near complete.

So, the doctor hooked her up to counseling and she really wants to
start using the treadmill for exercise.

Her father and I...........no, he told me that I am to just stay away
from his home.
He has a lot of anger towards me. It takes my breath away.I have a
lot of anger towards him too.

I was sitting in church yesterday and looking for peace about Mike
and I heard......a feeling....a thought ....from God? Who knows but
it was "treat him like a human being."

ahhhhh, but he is such a ding bat!!! Treat him like a human being.

Chatter.......... treat him like a human being. How hard can THAT
be??? Kind of hard God,,,,,lol.

I will try though.

Chatter,,,,,,,,,,,gotta go to work.

Jane 06-01-2005 08:07 AM

It's June!!

The month of brides, fireflies, picnics, roses, iced tea on the patio, and swimming holes.

Susan - oh hon, I am so sorry for your troubles! Just keep in mind that it will all work out, and say your prayers that it will be soon. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger. In the meantime, ((((HUGS)))) to you!! And don't let the men in your life make you feel like you are the blame for it all, ok? If you think you have been given a message from God, do what he says. I personally think we get messages from Him all the time, but sometimes our ears are closed to them. You've got my phone number if you ever need to talk, ok?

Ellen - so glad your DD is able to visit and call often. What a blessing! Macy's b/d is the 21st and my DD Mary's is the 22nd. But I'm with Marti, could she have it on the 19th? See what you can do about that, ok, lol!! A January birthday would sure brighten the long dark days of winter. Wait 'til you see the things available for nurseries nowdays! Nothing so limited as we had for our children's rooms! You can just delight in it all, and share it with us!

Anita - yay for a good workout! :cp: You're an ispiration to us couch potatoes!!

Marti - wouldn't it be cool if Ellen's ... uh.... I guess we can call her FDIL for future daughter-in-law - would have the baby on your birthday? Sounds far away from now, but it will be here before we know it! Yikes, so sorry your wisdom teeth are hurting. Are you scheduled to have them removed? Make sure James or Jhanai will be home to take care of you when that happens. Before I married Neal, I couldn't afford to go to the dentist. Hey, I could barely afford to pay the light bill, lol. So I had to get all sorts of work done on my teeth, too.

Ok Cristi, you've had several days with your sweetie, now it's time to come back and visit your jaded sisters, lol. We miss you.

I am so glad yesterday is now just a memory! It was a bad day! Makenzie had to go to the emergency room, Dale thought she was going into convulsions. Turns out, it was just shivers from a high temp. Caylin burned her arm on the curling iron, and Mary feels just horrible about that, and Neal threw his back out at the ballfield. He was kicking butt on first base, and got 3 guys out on the other team right in a row - their first 3 batters! Everyone was cheering and clapping. Then, later, he tried to catch a foul ball and hurt himself. It was right about then that Dale called Mary (she was with us to watch her Dad play) so we all left for the hospital, with Neal limping as best he could. As I said, thank God the day is now just a bad memory.

Today I plan to clean out my dirty van. That could take awhile. :o

Hope you have a gorgeous, sun-filled day!!

Hi ladies,

GREAT workout today! I sweated for 40 minutes on the ski machine this morning and I feel great. I did make the stupid mistake of getting on the scale though, and discovered that I am up about 4 pounds. Damn TOM! Oh well, I'll just drink water to flush it away. I got this nifty water jug at Walmart yesterday. It's called H2O on the Go'

http://www.arrowplastic.com/beverage5.htm

It holds 2.2 litres of water. I just fill it up and when it's finished I know I've had my eight glasses for the day. I am a water drinker so it's likely I could drink more than 8 glasses anyway. But this handy jug means I am not constantly refilling. It cost me $2.97 CDN which means it's probably about 1/2 that in U.S. Dollars.

PamPSM644 06-01-2005 11:16 AM

:coffee2: I'm selling my house and moving. I've desided I'm going to live in one of those pretty little buildings lining Main Street at Disneyland. I will be very happy will Mickey and Goofy as a neighbor. lol. I had soooooo much fun. Would go back every day if possible. I missed the Main Street Electrical Parade but the 50th one was wonderful to. I walked all over, stunning my family. Something I couldn't of dreamed of doing less then a year ago. I even went to California Adventure. We stayed 11 hours and I drove home not arriving till midnight. I poured myself into bed. Hope I get to go back soon. Tomorrow would be just fine.

Happy First Day of June!

Hi ladies!

Jane~I'm here! I tried to keep up and checked in on Saturday. Didn't post, just tried to read all the posts-didn't make it though. Sounded like you guys didn't have such a great day yesterday, hope everyone is better today.

Ellen~I got to your post Saturday but wasn't able to read it and now it seems to be gone, apparently I missed something about a future DIL and a baby. I was confused when I read Marti's post about a baby and such. Well, CONGRAT'S! I think...wasn't sure if it was a good thing for you or not. :dunno: A baby is always good news though!

Pam~glad you had a fun time at Disneyland! Who wouldn't?! But 11 hours? YIKES! I am good for about 6, maybe 8, but more than that would kill me. Of course we would always get there when they first opened so the lines weren't as long. Those stinking lines are what gets ya...the longest was 1 1/2 hrs. for a 2 mn. ride, crazy. But it's still fun!

Susan~(((((HUGS))))) to you. I am going to have to agree with what Jane said...don't let those men bring you down or blame you for everything. And I know it seems cliche but it is true, what doesn't kill ya makes you stronger. Just know we are here for you :grouphug:

Anita~those are cool little jugs. I keep track of my water by putting the number of bottles on the counter, only drink bottled water except in tea.

Marti~I haven't done any scrapbooking in ages it seems. DD and I got started on her scrapbook, took a break and never got back to it. I will definitely get theirs (the kids) books done, just maybe a year.

Sue~scrapbooking is fun! We have a scrapbook store here that I frequent that has everything! Of course I do get some stickers and stuff from Michaels also. We have a Hobby Lobby here and I love it! They have such neat stuff, but it seems over the last year or so they have less and less scrapbook stuff. Still check it out when there though. I think that is a great idea...making a book for your future DIL. I made one for DH. His mother gave the kids a bunch of old pics and he had them in a box so I made a scrapbook for him. That was my first one and looking back on it I would love to redo it! I won't though.

Okay, I hope I didn't miss anyone. There was just too much to try and catch up on. So, HI to everyone else

I am so sore! I helped DH with the fence yesterday and boy...I would not want to do that for a living. Of course if the yard was actually flat and the pickets weren't wet, it wouldn't have been so bad. I am really feeling it in my arms and legs. But...we did get the whole back up before the storms hit at about 2:45 thank goodness. I stained the bottom (can't get to the bottom once they are up) of the pickets and then took them to the back while V screwed them up, 120 of them! And we are about to get started again! Not sure I am ready. He's taking off work at 11:30 and we are going to get started and then at 2:00 go get our dining room furniture finally! They called Sunday and said it would be ready to pick up today after 2:00. Wasn't supposed to be here till the 19th so that was a nice surprise.

Been doing fine with the eating, drinking my water and definitely getting a workout! I am going to put my ticker back up and leave it there! Of course we have been so busy the last few days, I forgot to WI on Monday. Anyway, would love to chat some more but I need to go get in my workin' clothes-the slave driver will be home in a few! LOL Hoping to get the side done, we'll see.

Take care ladies and have a HAPPY HUMP DAY!

suetalks 06-01-2005 01:37 PM

Wow, that is strange. I was here earlier this morning and posted right after Anita. Now I see that my post either never made it or is just gone. Hmmmm.

I got up and walked 2 miles bright and early, so feel great. Now I want to walk again this evening with DH and maybe get in another 2 miles. The eating is going good also, even eating out didn't stop me.

Jane- I wanted to tell you that Cracker Barrel has a new line of goodies. They have Going to Grandma's, or something similar on hats, sleeping mats, aprons, mixing bowls and cooking things. SO cute. Since my "grands" are too grown for these I thought of you and your little gals. Isn't this weather wonderful today? We have sunny and breezy!

Anita- WTG on the exercising. I feel good when I get it done in the morning. Although I can't usually get much done except walking, it still feels good to have it finished. I am trying to do some upper body reps., but it is hard to get started.

Susan and Ellen- (((Hugs))) What more can I say?

Pam- Sounds like a magical day! I know you had a great time.

Cristi- Hope the fence building goes really well today. Don't forget the water when you are working, don't get dehydrated. Yes, I am going to try to scrapbook. I had made my DH an album years ago, before all this scrapbooking stuff came about. One day I might just re-do that and make it more colorful.

I am going garage saleing with Mom and my aunt tomorrow. I'm not looking for anything in particular, but they are looking for decorative plates, so I go and look. Who knows, there just might be something too good to pass up.

Have a good afternoon JL's.

Mom2Gaby 06-01-2005 07:59 PM

ahhhhh, rambles between My Lawyer and myself today. He doesn't shake
my emotions anymore. You're Fired seems to be close to my lips
though.

EMAIL ONE

I thought we were suppose to go back for a status hearing by the 15th
of June?? I called the court and Joni said she had nothing scheduled.
I wanted to know because of needing to take time off.

Thanks
Susan

EMAIL TWO

Susan - No. The Judge ruled that the evaluation must be underway no
later than June 15. I, as you may recall, stated in writing that I
would have your money in my trust account no later than today -
which, of course, I do not. Please send ASAP and advise me when I
can expect it. Thank you.

EMAIL THREE

Oh, will if you read the emails we exchanged back in April I was
understanding that the June court date was next. I pasted them
(emails) below where you even said that or at least implied.
So, how can it be underway if Mike doesn't have the money?
I will send my share but feel rather uncomfortable putting it in a
trust. I just want it understood that it is not to be released unless
Mike pays first. I am not going to have my mother lose her money.
Thanks,
Susan

BACKGROUND EMAILS from April.

Hi,
The next step is to go back to court to talk about custody
evaluation , to see if both parties have their share of the fee? Is
that in June.
If you can get back to me on that I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Susan

Susan - Yes, June date is next. We should get notice from court
(don't have your file in front of me). Make SURE you have $ for
custody evaluation; even better would be to get it to me by June 1 so
I can tell court I have it in my trust account before the hearing.
Keep me posted on this. David.

Jane 06-02-2005 07:40 AM

Good morning, ladies!

I'm in a hurry today, so I have to keep this short.

Cristi - some of my first scrapbooking pages were so awful I had to redo them, lol. For one thing, there were so few types of paper, trims, etc. available when I first began. For another thing, I have no natural talent for it, lol. Sounds like you worked very hard on the fence! Won't it be so nice when you get it all done? YAY for the 2 pounds down! :cp:

Sue - too bad there's no Cracker Barrel in Vincennes! But I'll check out their website, because I would love to have some of those things for my DGDs. Thanks for sharing that info! Yep, it sure was a nice day yesterday! It rained in the night, but we need it badly! Cloudy and misty so far today. Have fun with your mom and Aunt today.

Hi to all the others! Yesterday I detailed my van for over 2 1/2 hours! Even though I used the spray to loosen dog hair, I finally had to use a wet rag to drag it into a pile to remove it. I swear, Molly is never going bye-bye with me again! Well, ok, maybe just not as often, lol. And I had to use a q-tip dipped in Mr. Clean water to get the grunge around the knobs, etc. But you know, when it was all done, I was fairly proud of my efforts. Wonder how many points I worked off, lol.

Today I'm getting my roots touched up at the salon. I am this close <-> to letting it go grey! The roots were visable after 3 weeks, and I've been touching it up w/an eye-brow pencil. Arrghhh!!!

Anyway, have a good day!

Ciao!

PamPSM644 06-02-2005 10:30 AM

:coffee2: Lots of critter drama today, Ladies. I'm taking boh dogs to groomers. Bon Bon loves to go but Nickie, my Chow Retriever mix won't leave the yard unless forsed to. My Nickie is very sweet and VERY beautiful but not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Mentaly she has more incommon with a bunny then a dog but we love her. Getting her into the car is going to be an ordeal. Her fur is so thick and she sheds so much that when summer comes she has to get clipped. Also Nitro, our old man of a cat, 15 yrs old, is acting oddly. Constipation and acts slowed down. I'm afraid of what might be going on with him.

All sister's stuff is gone. For first time in 6 or 7 years I have my garage back and in order. I like going out there now. It feels like I have control again. Silly isn't it? I just kept putting anything of the slightest value,( slightest being the word here for there was nothing I'd be willing to pay for),out in front of the house and to my shock and joy someone would take it away. It's taken 3 months but worth the effort.

CRISTI, Although Disneyland was packed we were fortunate. The longest we had to wait in line was 25 min, some were no more then 15 min.

Neets 06-02-2005 11:22 AM

Hi All,

I am having such a crummy day. First of all I am working on only about 3 hours of sleep. Joycelyn must be getting teeth in the back because she woke up at 3 am screaming. Not to mention the fact that my charming husband was snoring and keeping me awake anyway. AND I got to bed at 11:30 because I got back from grocery shopping at 10:00 last night, then I still had to put away the groceries, AND make lunches. AND I was up at 5:20 am.

Then my husband was being a selfish and insensitive jerk. He actually had the audacity to ***** about the fact that he didn't like the way I had arranged his t-shirts in his drawer. ON AND ON AND ON he went until I was in tears. Last week he complained because I never got the laundrey put away. I can't win. I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't. I've tried to tell him over and over just how hard it is for me to balance everything, and when I am grocery shopping at 10 p.m. you'd think he's get a clue right?

Wrong.

After the fight I just went upstairs and started bawling. How can most men be so bloody narrow minded. They have absolutely no sense of fair play. (I guess I shouldn't generalize but I can;t help it.) He actually got mad when I reacted to his criticism. (I am not a person who sits and takes crap, and when I am pissed off I make sure he knows it) I told him, that it seemed to me that I can't do anything right lately. Last night I asked him to hold Joycelyn so that I could get dinner on the table, and he *****ed about that too. Saying, "I guess that means I don't get to have a shower before dinner then" So when I tried to make peace, he got mad again and said "Just forget it." :stress: :stress:

I ate a big donut for breakfast too, so I feel even worse, because I feel guilty for eating it, AND it's now sitting like a medicine ball in the pit of my stomach. No workout either. Double crap. How the heck am I supposed to take care of me when I barely have enough hours in the day to take care of everyone else? Just feeling sorry for myself I guess.

Thanks for letting me :tantrum: :tantrum: :tantrum:

Good morning aldies,
We should make a thread for venting....there would be alot of these symbols %#^@$.

Anita, go ahead and vent. I sometimes wonder how there can be so little hours in the day to get everything done.
Susan, what you wrote to the parents group could be a poem. I thought at first it was... I hope she can get over cutting herself.

Jane, how is Dales back? And McKenzie? is it a bad burn,,scar and all?

Pam,,,good to hear everything is getting back in control for you....

Cristi, hows the pipes (Arms) today? I always find its the next next day that the real pain sets in. You are going to have such a beautiful yard...*sigh green with envy

Sue, I watch the antique road show every so often and the treasures that can be found in yard sales....cha ching my problem is I just can't be bothered looking for it,,,I seriously need to have a yard sale and get rid of my basement stuff.
We are going to go buy a shed to store some stuff...and as we go trhough that we can possibly get a pile for yard sale stuff or just call someone to pick it all up.

well should get going...have laundry as usual....
toodles
