Heh, all. I see we've hit 300 posts on this thread. I'm wondering if I should make a new one. Is anyone having trouble downloading this because it's getting big and unwieldy? If so, I'll start a new one. If not, I'll just let it continue as newcomers might like to read the whole thing. Give me your thoughts. :bubbles:

Hi Red,
I'd like to join your challenge & thread if I may. I'll be trolling the thread trying to get to know people. My first 21 day challenge is sticking with water. I fell off the wagon big time and I need to rebuild habits starting with the important basics. Looking forward to getting to know you all... |
red i vote for leaving it as 1 thread... i dont have any problems with the page loading and i am on dial up....
wishing everyone a happy sunday! |
Hi everyone!
Just a quick check in and I`ll be back when my house is spotless. I`ve really been slacking and have SO much cleaning to do, so I`m telling myself to get it done then I can sit at the computer. ;) Working on Day 13! Farther than I went the first try! Yay! Yesterday (day 12) did 40 min. elliptical, 20 minutes step tape (not in the mood to do 30 but I hung on for 20) and ten minutes of Salsa, then some leg exercises. Good luck today, girls! I think Sundays are tough days for a lot of us, at least for me they are. We have to keep working hard while the rest of world gets a break... ahh life just ain`t fair! :D Be back later! p.s. no troubles with the thread here, either ;) |
Sunday Morning
Hello. I hope you're all enjoying your Sunday.
I don't have any trouble loading the page. My computer is old and as slow as a ..... well..... Turtle! But what ever you do, I'm cool with it. Just don't leave me behind. ;) I ate too much yesterday! I was so angry with myself. It was like a battle of wills and the PIG won. But I'm having a few "woman troubles" that may have sorted out now. I hate to blame everything that goes wrong in my life on hormones, but that's what I do. Tomorrow is my scheudled Day#1 and I'm actually kind of excited. I haven't decided if I'm going to TOPS or not. I think I'd like to quit. But I need to be accountable for my weight and getting weighed there was an offical weight on record. But I wasn't feeling supported or motivated by the meetings. It's likely my own fault, PLUS I was gaining more than losing. Long story, I'll spare you. I need to get a journal posted so I can shower and get ready for what ever Pooh Bear wants to do today. It looks rainy to me. The office called and said they're going on another bike ride today. Gulp! Since they tried to kill me the last time, I think I'll be uhh busy or sumpin! :smug: Hello to all you gals. I'll see you soon. I need to scoot on outta here. |
Sunday Afteroon Greetings!
Hi Chickies - Day 14 down - 7 more to go! :cheer: Got up this a.m. and did a 30 minute treadmill workout - watching my favorite home show - Clean House! I am starting my own business here in the Detroit area doing a similar thing - I am really good at organizing other people's stuff (note the emphasis on OTHER).
Go Caro! :cp: You and I are getting close to the goal! Hang in there - I'm routing for us both Welcome happy2bme  - this is a great thread and you will like the support for whatever your challenge is. Java - don't beat yourself up :nono: - what happened is just what it is - not good, not bad - it happened. Accept it and move on looking to what is possible for the next moment, hour, day - how you are going to be about facing the next challenge that will bring you closer to meeting your goals. You are doing great just sticking with this in the face of everyday life! Have a great Sunday everyone. |

Day 14 here....one week to go!
Good morning, all. It's Monday morning here and this is my Day14. I was having problems with the computer and wasn't getting any notifications of posts so I thought no one was around. Wish I'd looked here, it would have made me feel better yesterday, which was a disaster!
I am going to see this challenge through to the end this time! I will. That said, I had to take my free day yesterday. Good time to take it. Funny, last time I got this far I blew it and had to start over. Bad day yesterday. Wasted day. Couldn't do anything. Too much drinking Saturday night. Out till 4 a.m. Had to cancel riding Sunday. I really, really hate that but I think I also needed the break, or rather, the break in the routine, as it wasn't much of a break. It was a totally wasted day, except for the fact that I was playing with the Bodyblade someone gave me. Don't know if it does much as I'm already pretty fit but it's kind of fun. Well, I don't like being disgusted with myself for blowing off a day and then eating junk on top of that. Messing up the body chemistry is a bad thing. Even if the socializing is something I'm allowing myself, I am going to pull my neck in for a bit. At least I didn't blow a lot of money as the other guy paid. 0k, people, wish me luck. I'm going to try to get back into things. Really, really, realize the necessity of eating well. It changes your entire outlook, feelings, energy levels, everything. Resolve, resolve. I wish I could buy an ipod..... Well, since no one is having troubles with the thread I will leave it a bit longer. I may change it when I get through my first round of 21 though. Something about seeing giant threads bothers me. I don't know. They seem old somehow and somehow egotistical, too much in your face. I like lean and mean and not looking back....because I don't have the lean part in much in my life (except my bank account...oh, no that's in perpetual starvation). happy -- Welcome! So glad to see you here. Don't worry about falling off the wagon. That's life. Just get back on with us and things will start to turn around for you. They already are. How much water are you planning on drinking every day? Good luck! mscat -- Looks like we're neck and neck. You're one day ahead of me. You are really doing well with the exercise. Doing it whenever you can take the time, early morning, late night. You are really something. Wow, I sure wish you could take care of my place. It's unbelievable, even I think so. Sigh. Wish I had more motivation with things. This is my biggest problem. Even if I make progress, I soon run out of steam and undo all my work. It's hard, isn't it, because eating and exercise is not something you can hold on to. It's something that has to be done all the time. I suppose though, that, if we are vigilant we will have a hard time going back to our worst states, right? Today, I am using your advice to help get me past feeling guilty about yesterday and how I totally wasted it. What was, was. At least I got to know my workmate better... You know, mscat, you talking about the treadmill. A pair of hand weights are great for upping your heartrate when you're on the treadmill. I used to wear a monitor and when I was pedaling the bike, if I would move my arms around, it would really shoot the heartrate up. Even no weights will do it and it will help tighten your arms. Arm circles, just punching the air, pretend you're a boxer, any movement helps. And please don't fret about the weight. Have you taken your measurements? I am going to do just that. And chart them. Sometimes, like you were saying, I'm now so aware of my body that I am appalled at the fat I find on my butt and thighs. But, if I could measure and see that they are indeed smaller, then it wouldn't bother me. Java -- Sweet Turtle, don't be angry with yourself. I know how you feel though. I'm kind of in the same boat right now. Maybe we should think of our being upset about what we didn't do as proof that we are reconfirming just what it is we want and that the fact that we are realizing this so much as to get as upset means that we have truly changed from the mindset that got us where we are when it comes to eating or exercise. Before, we just did it, didn't we? You weren't upset. You just ate. You just didn't bother to exercise. Perhaps it didn't even occur to you or you didn't care. Now, you're changing. You're saying no, this is NOT what I want. THIS is! So, see it as the confirmation that it is, that you are recreating yourself. As for your TOPS dilemma, what about getting someone at work to weigh you once a week. It sounds like you're in an environment where people are rooting for you and supportive of your goals. And since they have a gym there, you could probably put a scale there, if there isn't one already. You could chart your weight loss on a poster there. You can do that without putting your weight up for everyone to see, you know, just record the pounds lost, not the actual weight. Or you could record your measurements. Did you go on the bike ride? You could always go for just part of it, and then turn around and pedal leisurely back. I don't want you making excuses now, you hear me!? ;) And good luck on your new liftoff day! I love your long posts and your endearing honesty. Good luck! By the way, I love the idea of you sitting there at work with a stolen dumbbell, sneaking in exercises whenever you can. It's that kind of enthusiasm that is so inspiring! Caro -- We're on the same day I see. How did it go. You, too, are doing great with all your exercise. And I like the way you have quite a variety. Salsa! Now that sounds like fun! Yes, Sundays are tough, for me too. As you can see, I blew it yesterday. You only have a week to go, so let's get a full round under your belt. We can do this! curly -- How are you doing? Everything okay I hope! Get any work done on the tan? jkg -- Quiet from you. Did you get more veggies in? And fruit. You sure stocked up. Sounds delicous. Which reminds me, I have peaches in the fridge that may have stayed there too long! Yikes. Check in and say heh, okay! Sub, Trixi, Testament!! Where are you?!?! dkkrf, are you going to join up? I hope so! :) :df: |

curly -- you lobster, you! Heh, did you take your free day yet, or do you want to just go back cause it's still early in your challenge? It's not that early though, is it? Remember, you get one free day for each successful round of 21 and I think that means you have two freebies. You don't need to start over! :sunny: :bubbles: |
Sunday Evening Sign Off!
Well ladies - in addition to the great treadmill workout I had this morning - I forgot to mention I did 30 girlie pushups and 50 crunches. Then I worked for 4 hours cleaning out the garage and hauling crap to the side and back of the house. I am exhausted but I feel like I really accomplished something. Weight has not changed much but I know I feel tighter especially in the tummy area! I am taking Red's advise and not fretting over the scale. I am taking my measurements tonight as soon as I find the tape measure ;)
Red, thanks for your awesome post. I have been increasing the incline, speed and duration of my tread workout. I have a set of ankle weights so I am going to work them in too! Staying motivated and focussed is something I learned in the past year through Landmark Education - an international organization that provides a technology for living life powerfully. Check out the website at landmarkeducation.com and feel free to pm me for more information. It totally transformed my life! curly - thanks for the tip on the scale - what a great gadget! Goodnight all! |
OK then Red i will use my freebie for day 7 and tomorrow will be day 8.. thanks i 4got all about my freebies

putting a cap on Day 14...
Hi, people. Wrapping up Day 14 here! Hurrah! I didn't get all that much exercise in today, but enough, and I did eat well. Made a big salad at lunch. I had been starting to get into this cafe latte and cookie habit! Broke that today! :cp: Getting over the damage from the weekend, too, I hope!
curly -- Yeah, you have two freebies because you already did a round of 21-days! Moving right along... good luck! mscat -- "awesome post"... wow!! Thank you! Good going with the exercise. I am glad if I can be of any help. Glad to hear you are taking the scale down to scale so to speak. Get those measurements yet? I haven't, will tomorrow. I have a pair of jeans I sure wish I could get into again, but measurements will show the little steps in between, so hopefully, I won't get discouraged. Good luck to you too! :cb: Others! How are you all doing?! :listen: I hope well and hope to hear from you real soon! |
