ive got some weights that u wear on your hands like a glove i think i need to track them down and take them with me when i work out

Turtle on a mission
I just did a bunch of segments on an old WATP DVD and ended up with three and a half miles! :o Kind of snuck up on me. LOL. And I'm already into about half of my water goal. Wow.

Off and running again!
I almost got off track yesterday because I didn't get my workout in the a.m. again. It got later and later but I stuck to my resolve - and :thanks: to all of you who keep racking up the days - I decided I was not going to be left behind. So I kicked myself into gear at 11:30 p.m. and completed a 20 minute workout! :cb: Day 10 done. And I got up and did a 15 minute workout this a.m. So down with Day 11!

Day four for me and aside from the emotional stuff I am doing really well with food and with going to the gym. Have a BBQ tonight but still full from lunch so I know I won't be tempted. Nice to see everyone doing so well. It's been so hot here lately and there doesn't seem to be relief in sight.

Day 10 down!!! :strong:
Thanks Red, the kind words were much needed and very appreciated today!! I woke up feeling real crabby again today, it`s like PMS but that makes no sense, that was last week.... Anyway, managed to get on the elliptical although I was in no mood, but I know I cant break this habit now, so I did 43 minutes. The rest of the day slowly improved, less aggrevated and more relaxed. Cooked dinner for the kids and just got done with the step tape (yay). I was in no shape to do it lastnight, so instead did some strength exercises and bellydancing. ;) I started taking a multivitamin on Tues. I know I need it. I was pretty queesy yesterday for hours after taking it, but today was much better. My body must be saying "Hey what are you doing making me move so much? wheres my sugar and grease?!!!) :fr: I`m trying to get through the bad body image thing... I know the weight is falling off, I had to put my wedding ring away yesterday because it is too loose on my finger. I`ve stayed off the scale since Tues, and don`t want to get on til next Tues. I`ve really grown out of the scale addiction phase, thankfully. But I count the days til weigh in day! No doubt! I read a post earlier, cant remember where or by who, but she made a great point that I think is what I`m going through. When you start to lose the weight and you`re living healthier, you stop looking at your body through those rose colored glasses. You really see it for what it is. I convinced myself for YEARS, especially the last few years, that I`m a big girl, always gonna be, I`ve destroyed my body so it`ll never get in shape now. My husband loves me so what`s the big deal. I hate exercise so I can never do it. My butt ain`t THAT big. :lol: I can live with it. I`m pretty healthy. All those wonderful things I told myself that kept me fat, those are all gone. Now I see myself and how big and out of shape I am. My butt IS that big. I cant live with it, not happily anyway, and definetely not healthy. My husband sure loves me, but I dont love myself. So when I look at myself now, instead of the "positive lies" I`d tell myself, I`m telling myself the truth. I see all the GARBAGE I was consuming, just the coke and pepsi alone counted for almost a whole days of calories! Not counting food! I did this to myself, and now this is the body I have made. Now it`s time to re-make it the best I can. ;) Okay, I`m better now! Red, I remembered your post all through-out the day whenever I started feeling really down. You`re a great person and wonderful motivator, and I`m just happy to be part of this with you! jkg- Great job!!! :cb: Turtle, mscat, trixie, curly :goodluck: You`re all doing great! |

p.s. I take the one a day weight smart vitamins.. they made me queasy at first but after a week or so it subsides.. haha I'm excited cuz i am startin to get a butt... instead of just wide and flat!!! |
Day 11, gonna be made in heaven!
Wow, we've really gotten some action around here! Great! :spin: I'm on Day 11 and got to the gym this morning for a half hour jog and some arm and shoulder weight training. Now I'm at work and can't write but just wanted to say hi and thanks for all the posts and your sweet words. I'll write tonight when I get home from work. Til then! I finished day 1 of my second round! I went to the grocery store and stocked up on lots of fruits & veggies. I had an apricot for snack and a tossed salad with my dinner.

Well, no writing tonight after work. It's late and I'm beat. Into bed for me here. Have to work tomorrow (Saturday). See you in eight or so. Glad to see so many people writing. Curly- Thats exactly what I`ve started taking. Good to know it`s not all in my head here! I definetly have to take it with a meal, not just a small snack.
Well I had to make sure my scale was working today. :D Maybe 2 weigh in days are better for me right now while it is coming off, I get to see lower numbers, and it really puts me in a great mood! 213 today. My goal for next Tuesday has been met! I feel sooo much better today than the last 2 mornings. Red- Have a good nights sleep! Are you about 12 hours ahead of us? I`m a blonde when it comes to time changes (blonde when it comes to anything! hehe) It took me a while to stop calling and waking my friends up at 2 am on the East Coast when I lived in Alaska. :D I`ll be back later. Five done
I made it through five and I'm working on #6. I worked out yesterday morning with cardio and after my shift last night I did three weight lifting circuits at the office gym. Now, last night I ate more than I wanted to (Uncle Tom and & Aunt Flo are here) but my goals were to drink my water, journal EVERY morsel and do at least 20 minutes of exercise daily. So although I overate, I logged it. So that completes number five. It's a bitter victory, but I'm holding myself accountable and moving on. Hmmm what can I rhyme with six.....
Working on SIX thanks to you Chicks! Still not sleeping well because of my cat Squeak (she's in heat). Last night was even worse and I'm so very VERY cranky this morning. I've got more house work to do and less time to do it (because I tried to sleep in). Something has to be done, I can't run on low batteries like this for long. :?: Have a great Friday all and a wonderful week end. |
Friday Worries Maties!
Okay - I haven't done my day #12 workout yet - although I had a 5 minute walk from the car dealership to my work this morning - but I know I will get it in by this evening.
I got on the scale today (mistake) and found I had gained 3lbs! :fr: I am trying not to panic because I know some of it may be excess water weight gain - I skipped BP med yesterday. But I am also concerned because I know that after a while continuing the same exercise is not enough to keep my metabolism up and sustain continuous weight loss :?: I am proud of my exercise accomplishment and will continue for the remaining 9 days (and then beyond into eternity). But I know that I really need to add another component to challenge my already asleep metabolism. So I am struggling with which component to add. I have 3 choices - 1) increase scope and/or length of exercise (which is already challenging for me), 2) add minimum water intake, 3) maintain WW points. I started with water today - so far I have had a whole 12 oz. :( Any experiences with managing these challenges from the group? |
Houston, We have a problem
I was filling out my food journal :write: (it's a nightmare :( ) when I found a blank on Tuesday night. I'd written a time, but no food. So my food journal is NOT complete! :o Turtle is back to day # 1. Oops. I'm glad I caught it early, because I would have felt awfully guilty to have gone any further and had it not been legitimate. Back to square one for the Cranky Turtle. Do NOT pass go, do NOT collect your two hundred chocolate covered pretzels. :eek: Did I say that aloud? Just kidding. Turtle starting over and out.
