  • Just popping in for a quick hello. Hope everyone is doing well. Let us know how your weight loss and exercise are going.

I am doing OK this week...the first day that DH went back to work, I slept the entire day. Feeling more like being up and around today, though. Weight is still falling and I am presently 5 ounds under goal. Hopefully that will stabilize this week. I am eating better and more, so don't think that I will need to worry about the loss.

Have a great day everyone. Post to let us know how you are doing.
  • Don't faint - I'm back!

Sorry I've stayed away so long but it's been a hectic two months. But evrything seems to be getting back on track for us .. we are back up north now, we sold our home downstate - just have to go back down in a couple weeks for the closing. It will be good to only have one household to take care of .. was kinda rough paying for 2 places let alone taking care of them also.

    Sharon:
I hope Kelly's wedding was a huge success! I'm sure you enjoyed visiting with all the company. Hope to talk with you soon.

    Peggy:
I'm so glad to hear that your surgery was a success and you are cancer free. Great that all is over - especially the worry. Take care of yourself and will talk more soon.

    Slyvia:
How are things going with you? Are your parents home yet? How is your dad doing? Think of you often ... we all need to post more now ... keep in touch more.

    Rhonda:
Glad to welcome you to our small group .. hope we didn't scare you off with our scarce posts .. we don't usually go this long without posting. Hope you come back and post with us more. We'll be here for you ...

Dick is at work now (yes, he is retired but he has found himself a little job that he loves) he isn't on a schedule so can work his own hours as he wants. It's with a cement company - we've gotten pretty close with the owners and he is working for "cement" instead of pay so it looks like we'll be getting the foundation for our new home put in for a good deal.

Well, I will post more often now ... hope to hear from you all soon. Have missed you guys!

    Love, CJ
  • Good morning, everyone.

CJ - Glad that you are back and getting life under control. I know what you mean about paying for 2 homes. We finally rented one of ours so that we didn't have to pay utilities, etc. and the rent keeps the taxes and maintenance paid. That has eased the problem until we decide to sell the house that we are presently in. That will be about 6 years....

Hope everyone is doing well. I am now back at work and survived the first day yesterday. I am feeling better than I thought I would feel, so that was a bonus.

I guess I better get back at the work - I have a lot to catch up on. Take care.
  • Hi everyone!

Just popping in to wish you all a great Memorial Day weekend! Am waiting for my son and DIL to arrive .... Dick is finishing putting preservative down on our decks ... then tomorrow I can put out our deck furniture and then LET THE SUMMER BEGIN! We go downstate next week for the house closing then we're out of there for good. Feels good but funny at the same time. But we love it up here in the woods sooooooo much!

Well, this is a short one ... hope we all start posting more in here again ... I changed my picture ... i got a new webcam and was playing around with it.

    Later..
    Love, CJ
  • Just popping in to say hi to everyone. Hope your weekend was superb. Our holiday weekend was the week before Memorial Day, so I was hard at work yesterday while the rest were partying.

I spent a few days in hospital last week because of some eating problems that I have encountered following surgery. However, the hospital doesn't cooperate very much in the food area. The dr. is concerned because I am not eating, so admitted me. I gave the hospital a list of foods that I don't eat. Every meal consisted almost totally of foods that I don't eat...

In three days, I was able to eat 2 salads and 3 helpings of veggies. Not even a cup of coffee because they served it with sugar. How much more clear can 'no sugar' be? THEN, they have the nerve to stand in front of me and insist that I eat the food that they have served. I was not a very happy camper. However, when the dr. came in a found out what they were doing, things changed drastically.

Oh well, I guess that is our health care system... I am hoping that I see the end of it for a while.

The hospital called yesterday and DM is going back in next week for more surgery. Hopefully that will clean up the surgery site enough that she won't need radiation and she will also quit complaining about the surgeon not getting everything. She forgets that she is having more surgery, so complains about the initial surgery every chance that she gets.

Hope everyone is doing well. Have a great week. Take care.
  • Just popping in for a quickie hello here ... we are back downstate for just today and tomorrow .. the closing on our house is tomorrow .. hopefully ! I say this because we have had a few obsticles get in our way this past week - it's been changed 3 times already .. long story, but hopefully everything is taken care of and by 4:00 tomorrow we will have signed all the papers and will be heading back up north! It's been a rough and wild month.

We need to start posting more on this group - can't let us die down.

    Slyvia: Where are you???????????

Sharon: Kelly's pics were BEAUTIFUL! Email is coming your way!

Peggy: I do hope you are eating better now ... your "diet" of late does not sound very promising! How is your mom doing - did she have her surgery and if so is everything ok?

Well ... sorry, not much news here .. gotta run. Have to go see the grandkids for a real quickie visit ... at least long enough for hugs and kisses! We have so much to take care of between now and the closing my head is spinning! But, as soon as we get back north, I'll take some time and post more often. Hope to hear from everyone SOON!

    Bye for now ...
    Love, CJ
  • Just checking in for a quick hello. Good to hear from you, CJ. Hope the house closing goes well and that you can finally move upstate without worrying about the other house.

I was at the dr. this morning. Everything is OK so far following the surgery. He did another biopsy but is confident that there aren't any remaining cancer cells, so that is good.

DM had her second surgery on Monday. I thought that she would be discharged today, but they haven't phoned yet, so it might be tomorrow instead. I'll just have to wait and see.

DH has been out of town - to a job interview. We are hoping that it went well enough to get the job, but then it would mean a relocation...kind of a Catch 22. Oh well, we should know by next week what the outcome is.

That's just about my life in a nutshell. Wishing you all a great week. Take care.
  • Hello Ladies!

I know it's been a while since I've posted in here. Life has been crazy for me. My parents are back and they are both doing well. They are only going to be here until the middle of July and have asked me to get their "estate" squared away. Ladies, that is something I don't want to think about. I know I will have to know some things but I guess dealing with my parents' mortality is a bit eerie for me.

I've been trying to eat healthy but it doesn't always happen. I am exercising more with the training for my walks.

*sigh* Nico is trying to jump off the sofa...got to go.

    Will write more later.

    Hugs to all,
    Sylvia

  • Today is our Sharon's birthday so let's give her a big yell ...

    ~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHARON ~

And I hope this finds everyone doing well.

    Slyvia:
So glad to hear from you - was getting worried. We need to start getting in here more often and keep more in touch. I'm glad to hear your parents are doing well. I know what you mean tho about helping get the estate in order. It's not something that we want to think about but should. Actually, Dick and I need to get ours in order!

    Peggy:
Glad to hear all is well with your health. How about your mom? Also, what have you heard about DH possible new job - I tell ya, after this move of ours, I'm staying here for the rest of my life!

We are now full fledged northern Michigan residents. We closed on the downstate house - boy am I glad that is done with. Only one household to pay bills for! Now when we go downstate we will be "visiting relatives" ... no place of our own down there any more. lol

Well ...got to get busy. Cleaning out our 5th wheel for company coming the July 4th weekend. We have been using it for storage. I'll check back in soon. Hope to hear from you all real soon too.

    Love, CJ
  • Hello ... just popping in for a quick hello ... seems like no one is feeling like "talking" much these days.

Hope all is well with everyone .. and sure hope to see some action in here soon.

    Love to all,
    CJ
  • Again, just popping to say hello ....

Where is everyone? Have we all lost interest in this group? I hope not! I would hate to see this thread close down. Even if 2 or 3 of us only post, that would be a good thing. Hope to hear from someone soon.

    Have a great day.

    Love, CJ

  • Today is our Slyvia's birthday so let's give her a big yell ...

    ~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY SLYVIA ~

Well .. hope everyone had a great July 4th weekend and all is well with you all. Just wanted to pop in and say hi and wish a Happy Birthday to Slyvia. Hope to hear from someone SOON!

  • Hello, from the long-lost. *grins* I haven't posted with Thin Group in about a year, but I used to be a regular here. I've only recently come back to 3fc, and find a lot of support down in the more-active 100+ group. But Thin Group was my first home here, 'way back when.

Just wanted to let everyone know I'm alive. Still hovering around 290, as always, it seems, but rededicated to getting healthy again. My little Gem is 4 years old now -- can you believe it? Blond and blue-eyed and making up songs about everything. We spent a week at a beach house in Michigan with my family and she LOVED the sun and sand and water and cousins and fudge and butterflies and wind and tubing and fishing with Uncle Al and.. well everything. It's all so fresh when you see it through her eyes.
  • Hi synger! Good to hear from you! Sounds like you're having fun watching your little girl grow up! Enjoy! - they grow soooooo fast. Where in Michigan were you staying? I live in Gaylord ... maybe you were close to us .. wouldn't that have been a hoot?

Sorry about our group being so small ... I keep trying to keep everyone posting but don't know what is going on... I don't want to see this group fold ... it would break my heart I think. Glad you have a good group to post with, but please come back on occassion and keep us up to date on your weight losing progress!

Hope all is doing well ... busy this week with our Alpenfest in Gaylord. Tomorrow is our last day.

Hope to hear from someone SOON! Please gals, would hate to see this thread close! Please post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Bye for now,
    Love, CJ
  • I can't believe that not one of you girls are posting! Are we just going to let this group die?????? Looks like it to me. It only takes a couple of us to keep it going and hopefully bring it back to life! This is my FINAL PLEA - come and post with me! P L E A S E !!!!!!

I am going to go start a new thread now .. it may just be my last the way things look ... This is really upsetting me ... I hope to hear from you SOON!

I would chat but what for? No one is around to hear what I have to say.

So for now, I'll go start the new thread, and hopefully - HOPEFULLY - I will hear from you all.

PLEASE DON'T LET THIS GROUP DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Have a good day ...
    Love, CJ
