hi chicks!! wannabe, I'm so sorry that it's raining all the time where you are. It's bound to stop sometime! then you can get out :moped:
Harleymom - how was the weekend ride? awesome, I hope! We did a quick trip for Laconia Bike Week, we were there only about 6 1/2 hours but we crammed alot in...and yes, I rode the bull at the Broken Spoke, hung on for a darned long time, then got ejected and went *ss over teakettle :D but the best part of that was i was NOT sore the next day!! yay muscles:devil: ladies, THIS weekend we are going to Harley Rendezvous! yes, I know we don't have Harleys, but we have been assured that's fine. Its a weekend party held on a private country club in upstate NY and I've been told there is nothing quite like it - and that's a good thing :p:D We're riding there, it is about 4 hours away, and friends who have a large RV will hold a spot for us, so we can camp right under their canopy. Sweet! and use their bathroom, even better :D so at work, I've got to do double time for the next few days so I can take off Friday, Sat. and Sunday. take care chicks, and I hope to hear from our other regulars soon!!:?: |
Hey Vermont Mom. It rained some this morning and then stopped however I still didn't get to ride. DH has said maybe I should just go and take my cell phone and call him if I get into trouble. Like he would let me do that, lol.
Ball games last night, tonight, tomorrow night, and Wednesday night. After that hopefully the rain will have stopped and I will get back on her. On the other hand dh isn't getting to ride either. haha. Take care all and come back everyone we miss you. |
Hey chickies -
Almost ready to leave for MX on Saturday. Work has been a bit of a bear, and a lack of PC at home is seriously cutting in to my posting capabilities. :p I hope things dry up in OK - wanabe! You guys are about to float away down there. :( Holly - enjoy your Rendezvous sounds like FUN! :carrot: harleymom - hope you had a fun ride, too! I'm supposed to get interviewed for the new job when I get back from vacation after the 4th. |
Things are not drying up here. It is still raining and is supposed to continue for the rest of this week. I am so sick of rain. This is really beginning to suck.
Hope everyone else is having a great time and getting to ride and enjoying the summer. |
Well - we ended up not leaving town after all...DH's green card is expired. At least we figured it out on this side of the border. I would have had to leave him down there otherwise.
I've had a really nice break, I took the week off from work anyway. I've been checking out classes at the gym I can't normally go to - it's been fun! Sending some CA :sunny: your way, wannab! |
We sure could use the sunshine here chick. We have a record 18 days straight filled with rain. There is no longer a drought in the state of OK.
Now everyone sing rain rain go away, come again some other day. I want to go out and play. |
Hey Chicks!!!!
Boy, I've missed you all sooo much!!! I haven't had much of a chance to read what I've missed out on, but I did see that Gina is considering a Sportster :o and Holly is busy with all the biker events!! Fun, fun! Things have been really weird around here. I am really struggling with losing any weight and staying focused for that matter. I think that I may be in the very early stages of possibly researching weight loss surgery. I'm not sure yet.:?: We haven't rode our bikes at all lately either. I haven't even been on mine since November and I've been on DH's once this riding season. My only excuse is the weight. I feel huge and uncomfortable. My grandma died very suddenly and unexpectedly Memorial Day weekend and so I had to quit my usual summer job in order to help my mom clean grandma's house. Oye! That lady kept EVERYTHING!!!!! She has an enormous old house with 4 floors packed with junk and a double wide garage crammed too. It's been so much work. We've had 5 haul off dumpsters already at this point and we think that we may need 2-3 more before we're done. Plus, we'll have a massive garage sale at the end of the summer. Enough about me!! Gina- Will your husband be able to get a new green card? I know that things have changed quite bit the past few years with all that. It's good you found out before you crossed the border!! Wannab- It's been such an unusual year with all the rain. We live near Wichita, Kansas and we haven't seen as much as some people, but still it's been rainy most days. Holly- Have fun at Harley Rendezvous. Take pics for us!! HarleyMom-Enjoy your mountain riding and 4th of July! Hot01-:welcome3: Have a great 4th of July weekend everyone!! I PROMISE that I will be checking in a lot more. |
:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:
Andrea is back! Missed you, girl! So sorry about your Grandma, that's rough. Give yourself some time to grieve. As for WLS - that's a big decision - good luck with the research. There are tons of chicks in the Weight Loss Surgery forum - I bet they have lots of advice. On the green card front - most of it you can do online - it has been fairly painless so far. You fill out a form online and cough up $260....yesterday we got a notice in the mail that he should go to an appointment on July 20 to get his fingerprints taken....the last time he had to renew was prior to 9/11/2001....DH's plan B is to go to MX for a nephew's christening on Aug 11...we'll see if we are ready by then. I ain't buying any tickets just yet. ;) Hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th! |
Welcome back Rebel. Sorry to hear about your grandmother. It sounds like you have had a lot of work to do. I understand about the feeling uncomfortable and huge. The not wanting to be seen in public all of it. I get it totally. Been there done that. Don't give up yet on losing the weight, it can be done sometimes it just takes a while you didn't gain it overnight. Although it seems easier to gain it then to lose it. Do a lot of research into the weight loss surgery before you do it. I did a bunch of the research but decided against doing it. Actually the dh wasn't thrilled with it or with some of the risks, plus my insurance would not cover any of the cost. I do know from a friend of mine who has had it that some of the doctors want to see you lose some weight before they will even do the surgery because they want to know that you are serious about doing so.
Chick--good luck with the hubby's green card. I do know from another friend of mine that the procedure can be long right now. It just took her quite a while to get hers. And on the home front the rain has finally stopped. It stopped yesterday, I managed to get our lawn mowed and weedeated since I got off work early yesterday so that hopefully today we can play and ride some. Take care all and have a great 4th of July. Be safe. |
Now on another note ladies, I have something that I need your help with and would appreciate it if you would just email me your answers.
I am doing some research in opening my own bike shop. I want one that will work for both men and women but will cater more for the women. I won't be selling bikes unless they are on consignment to see at least for a while but I will have a mechanic on site that can lower the bikes and work on any problems. I have a friend who is a real good one. I also have someone who can do the powder coating and someone who can do any machine work that is needed for modifications. I want to carry bike accessories such as hand grips and pegs and that kind of stuff. I want to carry gear especially made for women. Here is what I am asking you, if you had a shop like that that was in your area would you frequent it and what would you like to see them carry? email me at [email protected]. |
I'd sure come to that shop Wannab. As for myself, I'd like to see different vests and all sorts of leather. As for my bike I'd like to see handgrips, pipes, mirrors, etc.
And I got to go to Fresno this past weekend for a family reunion. Talked my brother into letting me take his Road Glide out for a ride and took his dog with me. Had a great ride on his bike. |
Hi chicks! Hi Rebel! :carrot: I'm also very sorry to hear of your grandma's unexpected passing...and sorry for all the work you needed to do....five dumpsterloads??? and more expected?? yikes!
Hi Harleymom,Gina, wannabe and Teresa! Teresa, what kind of dog and what kind of carrying device was it in? Harley Rendezvous was great!! A nice ride there, and just fun and meeting people and lots of drinking :) Since then we have upgraded our little teeny tent finally. Husband got one for about $80 a couple days ago, it's much much much larger, you can even stand up in the center, and it's still carry-able on our bikes. Our little tent can be our gear tent, or the beer tent :p:devil: there's only been a couple days I havent' been able to take the bike to work, lucky me! wannabe, how rotten, all those days of rain you had to endure! My husband got me such a pretty bellybutton jewel for Rendezvous; it is a crysal with a crescent moon dangling down...I should have known to take it out and save it for special occasions, 'cause this morning the crescent moon part broke off :( oh well, he'll just have to buy me a new one :D i still haven't lost any more weight. But darn it, I'm not trying that hard :?: Still go to Curves 5 X's a week, but haven't been doing the additional work at home. Hope our other missing chicks pop in soon! (not that I should talk, I've been MIA, lol) |
My brother's dog, Summer, is a 15 lb. terrier mix. She has a pouch like a bag carried on the front of the body and she even has her own googles. She's real good and loves to go for rides on the bike.
|
It is always so cute to see dogs on bikes! Especially with their oh-so-cool 'doggles' :D
I said 'big deal' to the 60% chance of thunderstorms forecast for today, and made it fine to and from work. Though it's quite muggy, hazy, hot and humid. And my odometer just rolled to 20,000 miles today for my '06! woohoo! Lots of happy miles :scooter: I am just :?: at myself at why I don't do better. That I go to Curves 5X a week but have slipped up on doing additional exercise at home, and not watching what I eat. All I'm doing is hindering my progress. I'm trying hard again, have eaten well yesterday and today; and did both a Curves workout and a Gilad tape today. If I can stay at 162 by not denying myself much in the way of excess food, I should be able to come down by sticking to counted calories! How is everyone else doing? I'm missing Jill, harleymom, Sugyong and 2frust! |
Hey Holly I'm missing everyone else too.
The rain here has finally stopped but schedules still haven't stopped for me to be able to ride. :( It will eventually I know but I really want to be riding well on my own when we go to TN in September. My progress has stopped again. I can't seem to get below the 164. The rain has prevented a lot of my walking though. I really wanted a few more pounds off before the end of this month when the dh has his 25th high shcool reunion. Oh well. Talk to everyone soon. For those of you missing in action come on back. |
