I'm up a pound to 161 today.
I have a small gripe. Why do leathers only come in dark colors?! It may be too girly of me or whatever, but I want brown maybe even LIGHT brown! :) And what's wrong with the occasional... tan! heh heh Anyhow, we've hit a small bump in the biking... the registration's up and we have to renew it here in NY from Canada (lots of paperwork!), so I can't take advantage of what little good weather we get here for a bit. Grump. Ah well. Maybe I will win a couple $K and buy one locally so to leave the paperwork to hubby and go ride! hee hee |
I just never seem to have enough time to catch up and keep up with everyone here. I'm glad to see everyone is doing fairly well.
SuGyong, don't worry about a pound. Nothing major, could be fluid retention or even a difference in the time you weighed. Vermont, sorry to hear you are getting more snow. I know that really stinks. I had my bike out on Sunday to practice in the parking lot. I actually got 2 hours in on her and that is the most time I have ever gotten to spend on her. I did lay her down again as I was coming to a stop and I do believe that I am really starting to frustrate the hubby. I hope not. Oh well I will sign up for a couple more private lessons and am getting ready to take the MSF course again. Once I pass it this time I think he and I will both feel better and a little more confident about things. The scales have finally moved again. I thought they never would. Was driving me nuts. I purchased new jeans last weekend in a size 14. So I got brave and tried on the motorcycle jacket that the dh bought me. It FITS!!!! I was just a little excited with that one. Take care all and keep staying on track. By the way, I love the support that all of you provide. |
Hey all! I have had a fairly good couple of days. I am going to keep son's up coming wedding as a motivator for me! I got a dress and it fits pretty good but would like to get a few pounds off so I look better. I went and weighed in on Tuesday and was up 4 lbs! Oh well I will get it back off. I went to the gym and I am planning on going today. So I am going to do better!
SuGyong I have seen leather's in pink, blue, cream, brown. It is not common but you can find them. I personally like black but they make them in different colors. Good luck in finding yourself a cool pair. I think us motorcycle crazed women all need for this weather to be Summer time. I am sick of the cold and snowy weather! Looking forward to riding any day riding weather. Holly I am with you, I won't ride in the really cold stuff any more I am spoiled! I don't like freezing my hands and feet off. Well Chicks have a great day and Keep on Keep'n on! |
DH still on his way. Should be here any time now. Very worried as the cold snap has really done him in. He should have been here hours ago. Last check he was about 130 miles out of town and then he text messages me he will be here in a few HOURS. What is happening??? I am very worried. Say your little motorcycle prayers. He is like a frozen popsicle by now. He didn't take the winter gear since we didn't expect this cold.
Worried and waiting, Kerri |
Kerri OMG, no winter gear. I don't leave home without it. The weater changes so fast here in Colorado that I carry it even in summer months. Please let us know that you DH made it home safely. Traveling on a motorcycle at this time of year can be a bit nail bitting.
Have a great on plan weekend everyone and KEEP ON KEEP'N ON! |
Hello chicks! Internet service was spotty for a couple days, sorry. Kerri, we are thinking of your dh!!! yes, 130 miles but a couple of hours was not out of line, he would probably need to keep stopping to warm up. Let us know his progress! :)
SueG, I also hope you find leathers that you prefer...I, like HarleyMom, prefer black, anything to help look more slimming :D (hmm, black jacket, black chaps, black boots, black helmet, black BIKE :D ) I have seen sky blue, white, and pink chaps on beer girls at rallies, sigh, they looked very cute on them. wannabe, congrats on the new jeans and YAY at your jacket fitting!! that is so great! and it can just keep on getting looser, right :D sorry to hear about laying your bike down; it DOES happen to beginners. No damage to you or the bike, I hope! Practice does make so so much better. hi to everyone else! So far NO Easter candy is in the house. If I buy it early, that just means temptation for me. I'll let dh buy it for our son, and hide it til tomorrow. gotta stretch, and get ready for my day. I didn't stretch before tackling the snow on Thursday, and it was so wet and heavy; the first shovelful I did something to my lower back muscles and OWIE for 2 days. I thought my abs were stronger than that :( but I guess it was one of those things...a full shovelful of heavy wet snow that I carried at a weird angle to dump...anyway, it's better now, and I was able to work out yesterday, and that helped loosen it up. have a great day!! |
Keri, I hope the dh gets there safe and sound. Have something warm for him as he will need to warm up I'm sure. Glad to see everyone else is doing well. Hope everyone is having a Happy Easter.

Hey hope you all had a great Easter. No candy in my house. I promised my girls a new outfit and took my son and his girl friend out to dinner for the holiday. I will weigh in tomarrow. Take care all and Keep on Keep'n on All!

Hey all,
Unfortunately there is plenty of candy in my house. The scale is moving but there has been a little help with that. I had oral surgery on Friday so for the past few days I haven't been able to put much in my mouth that isn't pretty soft. So there has been lots of yougart and oatmeal. Upping my cardio helped some but this not being able to eat bit is really helping, lol. One more oral surgery to go this month and the top of my mouth will be fixed. My diet will still be fairly limited for a little while though. Hope today finds everyone healthy, happy and staying on track. |
Su - http://www.girlsbike2.com/site/info.asp?id=131
I tried this on and it's fabby, but you'd never catch me wearing it on my bike! I'd look too much like a GIRL! Urgh! Also this http://www.girlsbike2.com/site/info.asp?id=456 and others. Frank Thomas used to do a girlie range but it seems they are all black now :dunno: Perhaps they maybe cottoned on to the fact that real GRL bikers don't really want to LOOK like a girlie girl whilst riding!!! I have a friend who works at a Honda showroom who is a cager and "hates bikers", her words. She did however buy a pink leather bike jacket to wear and took the armour out  I use the term "friend" loosely here... ;) My bike tax is due at the end of this month  I think it's £80 now up from £15. :p It's because I have a bigger beauty of a bike now :D Hello to everyone - I'm skiddadling now :D |
from 15 to 80? that's like a 450% hike! Hope the bike is worth it! :) I'm not big on pink, but somehting a bit more visible when I'm riding at night is all I'm thinking of.
Ok, confession time. My diet was backed up by God during Lent. As soon as Easter got here, I went on a total and complete binge for the last few days. I'm up 4 pounds! :( 165 today. I have GOT TO get back onto my plan, but I'm finding that saying I will and doing it are two very different things. HELP! |

Gang, I was so very disappointed in my first month weigh-in and measuring at Curves :( but I only have myself to blame!! I just can't seem to control my hand to mouth. I lost one stinking pound (in a month!!!) and Im happy about this, an inch off both thighs; but then only a quarter inch (how can that even be measured!) off my waist, and OH JOY, a precious half inch off my already meager chest. What the ****!!!! |
You ladies are so funny. I couldn't wear a pink jacket either. Mine is red, black and white. It is a joe rocket blaster, with the armor.
Girls, girls, girls, here is your friendly kick in the pants to get you going.:rollpin: We all know what we have to do and what our goals are. We just have to get the mindset and really make ourselves stick to it. I even got over my plateau. (Thank goodness). All of you are such wonderful supports and I have told several people about this site. You know how great you can feel when you get there, so let's go. Set little goals. Say 5 lbs and stop looking at the overall goal. That is what helps me. That is why I have two signature lines. One so I can see my overall progress and the other so I can reach for that montly goal. (trust me it helps) knowing I needed to literally lose 130 lbs made things too overwhelming, but once I set my goal in 10 lb segments it has made it so much easier. On another note, at my son's baseball game tonight I ran into a friend of mine that I don't get to see very often. I actually haven't seen her since just before Christmas. We live right here in the same town but with full time jobs and kids all in sports we don't get together very often. I wish you could have seen her jaw drop. She said (keep in mind this is all in fun and envy) "You B@#!$, what have you done? You look so great, I can't believe it is you. I saw Temple and she told me you had lost a lot of weight but I had no clue". You have to love those reactions. We have a mutual friend that lives in Texas that over the past few years has lost well over 100 lbs and really tried to help encourage me some when she was here but I didn't do very well. Now we are going to get some pictures and email them for her to see. Take care and lots of hugs all around.  Kayla |
Hey Hey Everyone!
The weekend is almost here and I hope you all get to get out there and RIDE! As for me....TODAY we ride! We have friends visiting from still-frozen northern NY and they will be here for the next 2 days to ride. They are picking up a rental bike today at a nearby Harley shop. Thank goodness the rain stopped for a couple of days, although we have certainly enjoyed having it for a change. As for my weight....I have no idea where I stand, haven't had the guts to get on the scale. Haven't been horrible with my eating, but haven't been totally on-plan either. I will try again on Monday to THINK THIN and try to get in the ZONE. Dam. Why does it have to be so hard? Thanks for the pants kick, Wannab...I will read your post again on Sunday to try to get motivated. I'd like to at least lose my cruise weight before I see my daughter in June. You've done really great with your losses and I'm going to try to set smaller goals for myself too. I can just imagine how you felt as your friends jaw dropped when she saw you! YAY YOU! SuG....maybe we can both get motivated for a fresh start on Monday. I don't know about you, but Monday is the only day I can mentally get going again!! Hey Holly....2 inches off your thighs???? Man...I'll take that over loss of pounds any day! You've done GREAT!! You are gonna be one sexy biker chick at Myrtle Beach this year! Hello 2Frus! Good to see you! That cager acquaintance is prolly one of those bi^$h#s who's always trying to run us off the road!! An airhorn blast might do her some good ;) Harley....how'd your Easter shopping trip go? No Easter candy? Good for you! I did eat some Peeps and almost a whole BIG bag of those pretty pastel colored M&M Peanuts....Oh God....can't resist! Well....that's all the whining for today, Girls....gotta get Ready to Ride! Have fun this weekend...and be SAFE out there! |
Thanks for the pants kicking. I know I can do it if I stop whining long enough... scale said 163 this morning. I think I can... I think I can... I think I can...
I'm off to make a mini-slider now. (edited to change: I'm just going to turn my slider into my minislider instead...) |
