HAPPY HAPPY Birthday Joetta! :hb: That is too funny about the cows :moo: in your yard!  I hope you enjoyed your day and remember age is just a number - it's how you live your life that matters!

Lori - :bravo: on the workout - but that stinks that you felt so bad afterwards. I hope that things slow down for you a bit at work and you get some breathing time!

Paige - about the green tea. . . I would recommend trying one of the flavored green teas. I've actually not even tried plain bc I heard such bad things about it. I really like the Mint flavor that I posted a link to, but I also like the Orange spice. I drink a big mug of it with one packet of Splenda and I really enjoy it in the late mornings, post coffee and breakfast. I figure that is a great time to get it in my system. But I enjoy herbal teas and black teas a lot, so it was no real surprise that I like the green teas too.

Glad to give everyone a chuckle in regard to the geriatrics I work with around here. I guess it's better to laugh than cry so I'm inclined to join you. I think some people are just fine working into their older years, but when you can hardly walk and have incontinence I think your dignity should motivate you to retire. Ugh! It is a HUGE lesson to me that I must save for not only my retirement but for my healthcare after retirement as well.

Hey, there--

I've been reading, but haven't had much time to post (and don't today, really). So quickly let me say Happy Birthday to Joetta, and howdy to everyone else. I'm doing okay, but I'll have to get in touch with my inner 'morning person,' if she exists, because it's too hard for me to get to the gym in the evenings, I tend to work late, and Curves closes early.

I'll catch up as soon as I can. In the meantime, keep it up, ladies!

Quick post before beddy bye...

Thanks all for the birthday wishes!!! I honestly don't feel any different..but I do have the boys to constantly remind me that I am the oldest one in the household here!!!

As for the unflavored green tea--it is drinkable, but it leaves funky stuff on the inside of my cup...but if it will help with the weight loss---I can wash the cup.............

G'nite gals--have a great Friday!
Joetta

Good night

Hello. And Happy Birthday Joetta!!!

I love the cows. That would have been really funny to see. And imagine what the neighbors thought if they didn't what was going on. Were any of them tipped over? :D

I didn't go for a walk this evening, but I did take my two walks during work. I think they're about a mile each, up and down hills, so that's no too bad. I just don't feel like going tonight. I didn't eat the best either. My mother-in-law took me to lunch at Pizza Hut. I had a salad and a mini pizza, but I ate only 3/4 of the pizza. I guess I ate okay otherwise, but I just feel like a slug today. My next weighin is on Monday. I'm pretty sure I've lost some weight, but I sure hope it's more than just one pound. I weigh only every two weeks. I'm tired of looking at the bar on my signature. I need to get my armadillo moving.

I drink green tea sometimes. I, too, like herbal teas. I really like the red tea, too, especially Vanilla Red. I have to drink the green tea in the afternoon, though. For some reason, if I drink it in the morning, whether I've eaten or not, it makes me really nauseated. So does black tea. I may have to try drinking more green tea in the afternoon and see if it works for me, too. What can I lose - hopefully just weight.

Have a great evening/night ladies. Until, tomorrow...
Robin

Oh the Memories!

I had to go about finding new practive pants since I've been wearing the first set. :D I went through a big box in the shed and brought in a big stack. I separated them into 3 piles: Keep dreamin, Almost, and Golden. Some are in the wash! Mostly shorts, but who cares I didn't wear them last summer that's for sure.

As for the green tea, the flavored stuff leaves the residue in the mug too. I think it is the nature of green tea overall.

I've tried to be really good this week. I'd love to get below 150 before Florida and maintain while there. Why is it that I can't seem to lose around the gut? Is this normal. I've lost everywhere else, legs, butt, boobs, face, but not so much of the gut :( I hope it starts coming off there soon.

I hope everyone has had a good week and is looking forward to the weekend. I know I am. I am even going to take some time for me this weekend - that's a first! :p

BrOOklyN ChIcK 03-11-2005 03:04 PM

The word diet in itself scares the heck outta me. Ive been doing the calorie counting thing and the exercise. Its amazing when you going to sites like calorieking.com or fitday.com and you realize what you USED to eat....yowza... :fr: The calorie thing has definitely worked. :)

Knowing that I CAN'T eat a certain thing scares me. I like to think that I CHOOSE not to eat those foods.

Loud_Librarian 03-11-2005 03:10 PM

Welcome Brooklyn Chick! I too am a serious calorie counter and was shocked when I started in Jan to learn all the calories I was consuming. I use fitday religiously and reeally think that it helps.

Good luck on your goal to run the marathon!! I couldn't even imagine!

judydc 03-11-2005 06:04 PM

I hope everyone is doing well. I got to change my weight tracker today, and now I have three more pounds to go before Easter. I will be traveling for a few days, so I have to spend some time on Saturday putting on my game face, packing workout gear, a war bag (almonds, protein bars, apples) and reminding myself that I won't reach my mini-goal if I slack off in the restaurants or at the hotel bar.

Robin--hey, girl, don't sell yourself short! Not finishing your pizza is a victory in my book. I'm a charter member of the Clean Plate Club, and I have a hard time not eating what's in front of me, especially if I paid for it! But apparently thin people don't think that way--so maybe you're beginning to think like a thin person. :bravo:

Kerry--I think that where you are most likely to retain fat is largely genetic, so maybe you should blame your parents for the extra belly weight. The good part is that you can say "I've lost everywhere else," which is pretty cool

Hey, Brooklyn Chick--I lived in Brooklyn for several years, just moved from there a few years ago. I loved walking in Prospect Park!

Joetta, Lori, Paige, everybody have a wonderful weekend!

KYColonel 03-11-2005 06:22 PM

Welcome Brooklyn Chick!!!

We have another weekend upon us, and I have yet another birthday party to go to tomorrow--and of course, it just has to be another buffet (read- hog trough!).:ink:
Am working insane hours at the office, so the exercise has suffered :nono: Gotta get back to the sweating!!!

I spent part of the day with the munchkin's school counselor, scheduling classes for his sophomore year. I had to rant and rave for a while about the gifted program (or lack thereof). It truly is pathetic! He is using the very same social studies book here that he used 2 years ago in the Chicago area. THE EXACT SAME TEXTBOOK!!!!! :censored: Okay, i'll get off my soapbox. The only saving grace is that he is playing football here and loving it and has a lot of school spirit. And, there is a scholarship available in this district for Eagle Scouts with high GPA--a full 4 year scholarship to University of Louisville.

Hey Brooklyn Chick--tell us your story---really happy to have you aboard. We love the quirky stuff, and being from Brooklyn, surely you have some good stuff to share!

Have a great weekend all!

I thought this week would never end. Work was fine but very busy!!! One more week until Spring Break!!! :flow1: :flow1: Yeah!!! :cb: When I think of changing professions it is things like "Spring Break" that remind me why I do this for a living.

I lost 2 lbs at WI yesterday!!! :cheer: That puts me at -20!!!!   Now I just have to lose 8lbs in the next 3 weeks to meet my mini goal. I am going shopping for green tea this weekend. I'll try anything.

We are going to take the kids tomorrow to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. It is a really big deal here it last over 2 weeks. They also always have lots of good "Texas Chow" so I am going to have to steer clear of the food vendors.

Have a great weekend ladies!

The love of the weekend! Maybe things will finally slow down for me. I feel like somebody bumped the fast forward button and I can't shut it off!!!

Judy, I almost fell off my chair laughing, yea I also belong to the clean plate club! I have the worst gult about tossing anything! Lucky for me we are flat broke and not eating out at the moment!!

Robin that is so wild, I also got kind of sick when I drank some green tea the other night. I chalked it up to me being a big sissy, but if you have that problem too I don't feel like such a big baby! You should have heard me whining!

Paige, Yea on the weight loss!! I can't wait to see a 20lb loss!!!!!

Kerry, sounds like your really losing inches too, yea!!!! I also have middle problems, it is the VERY LAST THING TO GO! Honestly, I never have had a flat tummy, not even when I was a teenager, I had a pooch thing going on, but now I have a mac truck tire problem! I feel like that tire guy on TV, the Michellen Man!

Joetta, I'm impressed with you chosing your sons classes, when I was in high school I had to pick my own. Needless to say it was a dumb idea to let a teenager pick their own classes. I took the easiest ones and didn't challenge myself at all. Another stupid teenage mistake!

I went to the Dr. on Thursday, I weighed 1lb less than I did last year, I forgot what I weighed last year and I was a little disappointed, but it was better than going there with a 10lb weight gain, which is what I had before we all started hanging out! We talked about my gas issue, my tummy keeps rumbling and I can't seem to pass the gas. It is really uncomfortable, she said it was time to add fiber, I had to laugh, I remember being in her office when I was really sick telling them how I was eating a box of immodium a day, we have come along way since all that!

I am having one more major problem, with an ingrown toe nail! Oh does it hurt, I'm trying real hard not to cut it out, which I usually do coz it starts to hurt so bad! I can't go to the Dr., nobody can touch my toes and to think about a needle in my toe is just more than I can stand. If anybody knows of anything that will help while I'm letting them grow out so I can cut them straight across instead of clean back causing this problem let me know!

All right I'm going to run, and welcome Brooklyn Chick!!

judydc 03-12-2005 03:41 PM

Go, Paige!!! I love those nice round numbers. Congrats on your progress. Hope you are enjoying the rodeo. I'm not sure what's up with the green tea. Some people's stomach lining is sensitive to the tannic acid in tea (and in wine), so if it's still disagreeing with you, maybe you shouldn't force it. You mght also try decaf green tea, maybe that will be milder. I drink green or black tea in the morning, then herbal or decaf teas in the afternoon, when my tongue thinks I'm hungry. I've learned to like mint tea--somehow it signals "we're done eating for a while." Works for me, anyway. :)

Joetta, I hope you're enjoying the heck out of your birthday celebration. Think of it this way: you probably won't have quite this much fun if you're around to mark the next fifty years, so enjoy this one :dancer:

Lori--You're a Clean Plate Clubber, too? I'm actually a little embarassed sometimes about eating every last kernel of rice on my plate. I've noticed that normal-sized people check in with their stomachs and stop themselves if they're full. What's that about? ;) Sorry to hear about your toe. One of my exes always cut his toenails in an odd way, with a little notch in the middle, said it kept the nails from growing inward. I don't know, he had lots of weird theories....

If you don't hear from me for a few days, it's because I'm traveling. I'll try to drop in again and say hello. In the meantime, be well, and keep losing!

judy

KYColonel 03-12-2005 09:51 PM

Thanks Judy!! You sure know how to help me get things in perspective! --Makes being 50 sound like its not such a bad alternative. I celebrated tonight with a nephew that is 24 today--I am more than twice his age!!!
But oh well, my teeth are still real and don't fly out when I blow out candles.......

Lori, here is a trick that I used on an my Mom to help with her ingrowns...Soak the nails till they are a little softer, then gently lift the edge of the nail that tends to grow in.(I used a baby spoon so there were no sharp edges {and I left that spoon in the nail tool kit} ) Do this on a regular basis and it tends to "train" the nail to stay where it belongs. Of course you probably don't want to do that now with the infection, but once it clears up, it might help down the road. Hope yours heals soon!

Have a great tomorrow!
Joetta

rtardif 03-13-2005 08:07 PM

Happy Sunday!

I love the weekend, but they sure don't last long enough. My dh, dog, and I went for a nice long hike this morning, about 10AM. I'm not a morning person, to is as early as I will do a hike. We hiked on an old logging road, and we saw lots of turkey, elk, muledeer, and whitetail tracks. But all we saw animal wise were two ducks and I think a whitetail deer. But it was sunny, and about 50 degrees. And absolutely beautiful. I'm glad we did it this morning, because now I'm chained to the washer and dryer for the rest of the day.

The only thing I don't get about the tea is that I can drink it in the afternoon, and I'm fine. It's just the morning that it makes me nauseated. I've pretty much switched to plain, herbal tea, because it counts as water - no caffiene or sugar.

Hey Joetta, your'e only as old as you let yourself be. My driver's license (and my knees sometimes) says I'm 38, but I have a young heart. And I try to have a young attitude, although I have to say....."I just don't understand these kids today!" OMG, I sound just like my grandmother!

Congratulations on the weight loss Paige!! -20 is fantastic! I can't wait to see that number. You should feel very proud of a hard-earned mini-victory. And I'm sure you'll have no problem on the other 8.

Kerry, it's definitely got to be genetics. I have ALWAYS had a flabby stomach with a pooch just below my belly button. I hate it. I had it even when I weighed only 125 (I'm 5'10") and looked anorexic (bad period in my life). I definitely have my maternal grandmother's stomach, and my paternal grandmother's arms. No matter how many pushups or arm exercises I do, I will always have flabby arms, too. Somethings just aren't fair. But my legs aren't bad, I guess. Got to try to see the positive.

I don't know that I'm not a clean plate clubber, but ever since I've gotten serious with my weight loss, I lose my appetite around other people who eat bad. My mother-in-law really needs to lose a lot of weight, too. But she's the type to make excuses for everything. Andto listen to her talk about all the health problems she has, while she's shoveling in more food than she can literally fit in her mouth, is a bit disgusting. Mainly, because I know there have been times where that was me. Way too many times.

Well, sorry to ramble on so long. My bi-weekly weighin is tomorrow. If I've lost weight, I get to eat my Robin's eggs Easter candy. I'm so excited. I'll let you know how it goes. I was able to get into one of my practice pants yesterday, although they were a little snug in the waist. I was able to zip and button them while standing.

Later, girls.
Robin

Loud_Librarian 03-13-2005 09:25 PM

Yay for exercise!

Hi Ladies - I'm making a quick post before I head to lay down and read my book for the night. I'm reading "Wicked: the life and times of the Wicked Witch of the West" and I'm really digging it.

I'm exhausted but in a good way. DH and I went on a bike ride and then for a hike later. It was about 75 degrees out and I started working on my tan! :D We also purchased our tomatos and peppers for our garden we're determined to grow. I also purchased some herbs to start my very own herb garden. I feel so grown up!

I guess DH & I might qualify as thost kids :p DH is only 25 and keeps me young when it comes to music and trends. He's a DJ and stays hip and tuned in. I'm sure we seem obnoxious to those older than us sometimes, but our parents seem to like us! ;)

So I am trying to exercise more and see if I can tackle this tire around my belly. I must have my Dad's genes bc he has this problem. My mom on the other hand carries the bulk of her weight in the rear. I got it bad from both sides on both ends!

I can't believe it is Sunday, but I'm only working 2 days this week. I can't wait to sign out and make for the beach. I did get somewhat good news tonight that Ohio U is checking my references for a job I've applied for up there. I guess I do exist! Patience is so hard.

Shouts out to all of you *HELLO!* I hope you had wonderful productive weekends. If I could wish Mondays away I would! ;) Goodnight! :)

kpe 03-13-2005 10:26 PM

The weekend's over!

Why does the weekend just fly by!!!! I really need a job where I work 4 days and have 3 days off. I could really go for that. But I will have spring break in another week, if I can make it through this one.

This weekend was beautiful. We had 2 days of 85 degree weather. Yesterday I cleaned house most of the day. We were going to take the kids to the rodeo but we have so much to do before my dad comes next weekend. He is so critical if the yard and house are not immaculate!!! I think for some reason he thinks he has an investment in our house. He gave us $20,000 as a wedding gift to use as a down payment for our first house. So even though this is not the same house I guess he still feels like he has the right to complain if he doesn't think we are doing our best to keep it up. So that means we work our A-- off this next week to get everything in order. I think my dad is a big part of why I have always had issues with my weight. It has always been the one thing that I can control and he can't. I'm sure I could spend many hours in therapy discussing that!!!

We worked in the yard today and hopefully we will be able to finish up a few things as long as the weather stays nice. I can't wait for Day light Savings Time to come!!! I am ready for more daylight!!!!!!! I hate coming home from work and it is already dark out.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!!

Paige

lmatis 03-14-2005 06:16 AM

Good Morning Chickies :coffee: !
I too agree the weekends are way to short! Althought if I would get off my but on Sat. I might get more done. I had a great weigh in this morning 156 I can't believe it! That's the most I've lost since we all started 2 & 1/2 lbs.

Paige, that's not fun if your dad is that critical, that really makes it hard to relax and just enjoy! My parents live across the road, so they see the good, and the bad.

Joetta, thank you for the advice, I will be trying it this week. My chubby belly gets in the way of me really getting in and messing with my feet too bad, but I just can't stand for anybody else to touch them. This is one of my weird quirks.

Kerry, I love a garden! My dad usually has a nice one, but he is not doing too well this year, I hope my brother will still plant one! There is still snow on the ground here so it won't be for a little while before we plant anything. OH U, gee Kerry, that's getting pretty close and I think they have a flat tax, not property taxes. Some real perks!!

Robin, hearing about your hikes makes me really long for dayligt savings time too. I miss getting out and I hope we have a warmer summer this year. I'm looking forward to haning out at the river with my friends. (hopefully looking much slimmer) Robin I also suffer from flab, the only thing that helps is weight lifting. I use Joyce Vederal's one book, Definition. It takes less than 30 mins. 3 days a week, and really tightens up those bad spots.

Alright, I'm going to jump in the shower, chat with you all later!!!

lpnin03 03-14-2005 09:37 AM

Good morning ladies! Sorry I have been MIA for a while. I have been busy since we came home from our cruise. I have also fallen off track a little. I don't think that I have gained any weight but I haven't done as well as I was was before.

Well, don't have much time. I need to get to Curves before they close for the afternoon. I will try to get back on here before I go to work today.

lpnin03 03-14-2005 11:24 AM

Just got back from Curves. Today was weigh in and measurements. Since starting on 1/18/05 I have lost:

2 inches in my bust
3.5 inches in my waist
3 inches in my abs
3.5 inches in my hips
1.5 inches in my thighs
.5 inch in my arms
15.5 pounds
3.2 % body fat.

   :cb: :cb: :cb:

I was so excited when we took my measurements. Even with going on vacation and eating like a :ink: and falling off track these past few weeks I still have done great. It is looking at these numbers that makes me keep pushing even when I feel like it would be so much easier to just be fat!! :D

Loud_Librarian 03-14-2005 12:47 PM

Jen that is FABULOUS!!! :bravo:  That's some serious incentive to KEEP IT UP!! :)

I weighed in this morning and I am still at 150 :( Although I believe with my increased activities I am gaining some muscle and fitting into clothes better, so I guess I can't complain. I am wearing the most wonderful size 10 skirt today and feeling good about myself.

Lori - you're right about OU being close to you. I've done some more research and it is looking like a good possibility. One of the best perks would be that they allow the tuition benefit to go to the spouse and that would mean FREE tuition for DH's last two years of college! That's a 20k benefit in my book! WOW! I sure hope they call for an interview, but I shouldn't get my hopes up too much.

Alright I have to go work now. TTYL!

rtardif 03-14-2005 03:45 PM

I lost some!

Good afternoon everyone. I hope you all have a great week.

Paige: Just because your father gave you a wedding present to put towards a house, doesn't give him any say so in how you keep it. My father was always critical of me, too. And now I just have to be myself, for my health and sanity. If he doesn't like the way I do something, he doesn't have to be there while I do it. But then my dad lives in Texas, and I don't see him very often. Hang in there anyway, once he's gone, you can go back to being yourself. And enjoying it!

Kerry: Good luck with OU. I'll be praying that you get called for an interview. That would be great. And the benefit of your dh being able to finish school would be wonderful. And don't be down that you aren't down below 150 yet. You've possibly hit a plateau. Besides, muscle weighs more than fat, but looks a hundred times better. So, if you're clothes are fitting good, then you must be doing something right. Keep it up!

Jenn: Congratulations on the measurements! It's got too feel good. I usually go by my measurements, too, but I'm not going to let the people at work see me do that. And I weigh in here at work because I have a challenge going on with one of my coworkers. I bet you can get into your practice pants now!

My weigh-in was this morning, and I've lost 3 pounds. That's a pound a half a week, which is fine with me. I updated my bar at the bottom. And I decided that since my highest weight last year was 204 at the doctor's office, I'm going to use that on my status bar. That makes ten lbs I've lost since the end of last summer. I'm now working harder on getting it off, so hopefully it won't take as long to lose the next 10. But I'm not giving up if it does.

Take care all.
Robin

Loud_Librarian 03-15-2005 03:00 PM

Greetings Ladies!

:bravo: Robin on your loss!! I think it's great to think about where you are compared to your highest weight. I was thinking about that recently about how I weighed 168 this time last year so I gotta look better now than I did then (aside from the errant gray hairs, increasing wrinkles and seemingly darkening mustache  ).

Well this will be my last post before we head out of town. Tomorrow we're packing and loading up to head to my folks to spend the night and drop the dog off. Their house guests cancelled so they're watching Bella for us now, which makes me feel better. Then we're leaving from there to Clearwater and we'll be 2 hours closer.

I'm going to try really hard to not put on any weight while I'm there and enjoy myself. I know my biggest enemy will be the alcohol, but what can you do? :p

So :grouphug: and everyone hang in there! Have a good week/weekend and I'll see you next week! :)

rtardif 03-15-2005 04:23 PM

So much for that.

:ink: :ink: So much for the 3lbs I lost. I think I've just gained them all back. :nono: That proverbial wagon must have hit a huge pothole and threw me off. And then it backed up to see what it hit, and ran me over. And then, to continue on its way, it ran me over again. :faint: :stars: I have eaten nothing today, but junk food, except for a banana. :cb: I was running late for work, so I ate a banana on the way to work. When I got to work, I was still hungery, so I got a bag of chocolate-chip cookies :cookie: :cookie: from the vending machine. Then for lunch, I ate several (6) Little Debbie snack cakes  , with chocolate milk :cry:. And because that obviously wasn't enough. I went to Taco Bell and got a Mexican pizza:cry::cry::cry:. They were all good, but it's going to take forever for me to burn all that off. :tread: :strong: I think I'm stressing about all the stuff I need to do before we start construction on our house. So, I decided to take tomorrow off from work and get as much of it completed as I can. Then I won't stress about it. Now I'm nauseated. :ink:

Hi everyone! I haven't felt very well this week so I have pretty much come home from work everyday and gone to bed. I did lose 6.8lbs this week, but I'm sure it has alot to do with not feeling well. But hey, I'll take it anyway I can. I will write more tomorrow. Long day and I am exhausted!!!

Hey Chickies!!
I've missed you all this week, I have had a REALLY BAD week, I won't go into all the gory details, but I haven't had any fun! I seemed to have gotten a female infection on top of it all. Let me just saying working out has been extra challenging with the discomfort. I really think I'm going to get everybody something to eat and just relax this evening! I hope nobody wants anything from me! I just really need to curl up and get some rest and relax! I hope everybody is feeling better soon!!! And for goodness sakes Robin take the time you need to get yourself back together! Don't worry about it, your doing great one day won't blow it as long as you dust yourself off and jump back on that wagon. And when you jump on slap that driver for backing up!!! Ok I need to feed the family, I'll check back soon!!!

kpe 03-18-2005 08:52 PM

Spring Break!!!

I thought it would never get here!!! It is times like this when I am really glad I'm in education. I hope the weather is nice. I would really like to do some fun things with the kids this week.

I have two weeks to lose 4 lbs in order to make my birthday goal!! I think I can do it as long as I don't hit a plateau. The last few weeks I have had really good weigh ins.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Hey Everyone, I am still alive! I am so darned lucky!!! The co-workers that gave me this crap really had a tough time, and still are miserable with the coughing and aching muscles almost 2 weeks into this flu. I have been able to sleep at night, so I can function during the day.

Paige, enjoy your break! It can make the rest of the year seem somewhat worthwhile.

Lori, hope this weekend finds life more bearable for you....infections stink!

The diet and exercise has been nonexistent lately--I am now getting back in the saddle. A new beginning...

Have a great weekend all!

Good evening ladies!
Paige, I am sooo jealous, I miss having summers and holidays off! Well since I never have anytime off I have to get much of my work done on the weekends and this weekend has been no exception. I got up this morning and worked like a dog to get the outside looking good. We have decided to refinance this place (better interest rate and more equity!) I scrubbed down sidding and picked up the yard. I moved RR ties and let me tell you, I have new found muscles in my rear, at least they are sore and I didn't notice them before!! The house is shapping up, it just looks so dismal because everything is dreary until the trees and flowers start to bloom. But it was great to have the stamina to get out and do the work!!! We had a good day for it, almost 50 degrees and overcast! They kept saying it was going to rain so I worked double time to finish it, and it is 9pm here and still no rain! You can feel it though, it's in the air and it's coming. Tomorrow I will work like a dog to get the inside looking good! DH it threating to take the kids running around for the day, it's a toss up. Nice to have them here to do some work, but also nice to not have anybody in my way either!
Ok my dear son is kicking me off he wants to chat with his friends, so I guess I'll check in tomorrow!!! Oh and I had a wonderful meal from the freezer tonight. Tyson stir fry, done in 15 mins. and it was awsome!! Good thing, I didn't feel much like standing in the kitchen chopping and dicing, my rear is really sore!!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!!!!! I just thought I would check in quickly and see what was going on.

Later,

Hi All!
Happy Sunday morning! Hey--Isn't today the first day of spring? If so, then Happy Spring!
A great time for a new beginning~~~~~the boys will be eating the leftover corned beef and cabbage, I'll stick to just the veggies. I did make some cornbread last night, so I will have to partake of that today. My sister made a batch of Mexican fudge and brought it to me--I have to try making that low fat. I just love it! Cheese, eggs, and hot green salsa--YUM! The salsa makes me try to convince myself that it must be good for me....I can stay away from the peanut butter fudge that my 91 year old neighbor brought over, but I find I can not resist the hot, spicy stuff-especially if it is full of cheese!
Busy day today, taking the munchkin over to clean the office, and I am going to try to find a place to get my hair cut. I am so cheap that I usually try to do it myself, but I really need help!
Lori, if you are going to refinance, this is a good time--interest rates are starting to inch up. And of course you get a break tax wise on the interest paid in, which will help also. Keep track of the closing costs, you can deduct those next year too!

Paige, I suppose you are already seeing some signs of spring. I am starting to see the daffodils blooming, Kerry, Judy, are you seeing the same where you are? Robin, Lori, you guys are in opposite ends of the North,--do you have many signs of spring yet?

I'll be in Lexington tomorrow--I insanely offered to let a client come in at 8:30AM. This is a little more than an hour and a half drive for me, so tomorrow will have to be an early start. I may have some free time to jump online then to say howdy!

Good Morning Chickies :coffee: !
I had a good weigh in this morning, 154! Yea, that is 2lbs again this week. After so many weeks with only a one pound loss two seems awsome!!

Well I'm VERY happy to see you girls come back and get back on the wagon after falling off. That is 1/2 the battle is getting back in the swing of it, you will, with out a doubt, have sucess!! I can't help but worry what has happened to everybody else, did they fall off the wagon and just not come back? You can't tell me they just got tired of posting, if that was it they would at least drop in and say hi. Well I am very thankful you all are sticking to this, I enjoy chatting with all of you!!! Oh and I'm a bit worried about getting through our first holiday dieting!!! Although it can't be much worse than some of these weekend parties and our co-workers  !!! Ok, I'm going to go jump in the shower, I'll check back later!!
Joetta, the only sign of spring over here in PA is that the snow is just about all melted!

Good morning!

My first offical day of spring break! Yipee!!!!   Of course my kids were up bright and early. They haven't grasped the concept yet that sleeping late can be a good thing.

I have been trying to figure out what I am going to cook all week with my dad here. His flight gets here this afternoon. He knows that I am doing WW, so I guess if he doesn't like what I fix, tough.

Everything is blooming here and it has been in the 70's and 80's. This is one of the things that I love about Texas. (I hate the humidity)

I will try and check in as often as I can this week!

Do you think we should start a new thread and do a roll call, since it looks like we have lost people??? Just a thought.

I have returned

A quick note since I am back but busy. We had fun, the weather was nice, but not as warm as I would have liked. We went to the beach. DH caught a huge fish and I got too drunk on Sat night.

I got on the scale this morning and it behaved like I might have put on a pound, but it is that TOM so I'm not trusting anything right now. I'll wait and see what it says at the end of the week. I did splurge though and had soda too often and some good meals. I tried to control portions and not worry too much about fat.

We have lost some of our group, but we still have a decent amount posting and sticking to it. I hope to get back on the wagon this week and be more fit as well. Exercise is my friend.

Weather is supposed to be nice here at the end of the week. My flowers started bursting through the ground a few weeks ago. If I could only keep Bella out of the flower beds!

Wish I had another day off. Too much to do and I'm tired. See you all later! :)

Marie 03-21-2005 11:38 AM

Hi all,

I'm back too. We remodeled all of our house and I was too tired to post. Plus I've been really, really bad. I'd gained 6 pounds. I'm finally back on track and have lost 1.5 pounds of the regained weight. I look back and none of the food was worth it, but at the time, I was literally out of control.

Paige, I'm with you. It's spring break and It's the official first day. I slept in and it was great. I don't have any great plans for the week, but I am going to work on stained glass. A fun hobby instead of remodeling.

So I'm back and will try to keep up on the posts.
Marie

Hey Lori, working those butt muscles out in the yard is paying off

I got my hair cut yesterday, but does it flip the way I want it to? Of course not! And the dearly beloved hubby has not noticed that I am missing about 6 inches of hair--that may be a good thing!

Judy and Marie, hope things will slow just a bit for you now--but it does feel good to get things accomplished, doesnt it?

I'm for starting a new thread, if need be, just don't ask me to do it--there is no telling what kind of mess I would make of it!

I have been SOOOO good today! I had to submit some paperwork at the Social Security Office, and drove by many wonderful looking restaurants, but instead just came back to the office and ate my honeybell, and am now sipping on a cuppa green tea. Back in the saddle! And tonight--whenever I finally get home, I'm getting back on the skiier--Promise!!!!

Good afternoon.

Good afternoon, ladies! I had the house to myself this weekend. The first time in a long time. And it was nice. I rented three "chick flicks." If you get a chance to see Angel Eyes, it's pretty good. I took my dog Charlie for a long walk on Saturday morning. Watched TV in the afternoon. I was going to work in the yard, but it rained all afternoon. It's okay. We really need the rain. On Sunday, we (the dog and I) went to take pictures of our property that we'll be building on. Charlie played in the creek. I went to check in here on Sunday afternoon and was on my computer about five minutes before the monitor went out. So I went and did something else. Tried the computer again last night, after checking all of the cables, and it worked. I'm thinking the cats must have loosened the wires. They like to sit on the warm monitor. But by time the computer was working again, my dh was back home. And I don't like him watching what I'm writing on here. Not that I have anything to hide from him, but I this is sort of my thing. He has "his things" that I don't get involved with. This is my only one. I'm going to make a better effort to check in on the weekend. I enjoy visiting with everyone.

I did okay on my eating this weekend. I wouldn't say that I ate really healthy, but calorie-wise, I did pretty good. I didn't get in as much exercise as I could have, but I needed some relaxation time.

Marie - Don't worry about the weight. Just know that we all support you here and have been in your shoes.

Paige - Try to have a good visit with your dad. And if he doesn't like how clean your house is, or what kind of food you're fixing, then that's his problem. He should be more supportive. If he can't be supportive, then come in here and vent. We'll be supportive of you. I think your house looks great!

I spent the first 29 years of my life in Texas, and I love the hill country in Spring. The fields of blue bonnets are just gorgeous. I even miss the thunderstorms (but not the tornadoes).

Lori - I hope you're feeling better. There's been a lot of crud going around everywhere. I hope you get over it quickly.

Joetta - Way to go on passing the restaurants. Some days it's really a challenge to eat right.

It's definitely Spring here in Idaho (north central). The tulips and daffodils are blooming. The dogwood trees are all pink. And most of the trees are sprouting green. This is definitely my favorite time of year. I love all the flowers. And with the rain we got this weekend, we should see more things sprouting. It's hard to stay indoors in an office, though.

Take care everyone. I'll post more often.
Robin
