Well there you go, I have updated my signature so that you can all see what you have told me you are supposed to be doing. Happy elbow bending.

Teel, you never said what/ if you are going to do anything - only said it was an interesting concept! Does that mean yes or no??

So starting tonight for me and tomorow for the rest of you, we will be bending the elbows and keeping the mouth shut while watching the tv or the sunset or the computer whatever you have decided. Please report in on exercise done during the week and it might be a good idea to measure the arms and see if there is any difference at the end of the week (hah ahah)/
Right I am off to go shopping - no cheese, no bread. I can do this.

Think I will have to experiment with the lists to see why the tags are still showing. Haven't got time right now.

Meadow 01-07-2005 06:43 PM

Jeepers, I just made orange Biscotti! I guess I'll try the no sweets route, starting tomorrow. Who is that yelling? Okay, okay, starting as of now

MELODY525 01-07-2005 07:40 PM

I am definitely started for the challenge. I can't read for a few days but will try and keep up. the eyes are being a real bother to me now and the appt is Monday. So I only have a few days to find out what's going on. Nothing seems to be working right now. guess it will be a relaxing and listening to movies weekend!
The new Boss came again today. We spoke again for a few minutes and things are rapidly shaping up. with him exercising his authority ahead of schedule, there is no need for mine. I am actually very rekieved. did some cleaning out of my stuff that has accumulated in the offices and brought it all upstairs. will keep a box in maintenance as my "office" and that is it. (sigh) Hope I am really ready for retirement cause it is really happening this time! I must get off here. So gritty that they are killing me.
When I am not looking at anything they feel ok...more or less. I also started my new plan with all the food i bought!!! :cb: Will see if this one is healthier eating. I think it is but will I lose a pound or two!?!?!?:faint: Have a wonderful weekend in case I don't return. Jen is goin away I think so I will lose my reader! LOL Adios! TTTT!Teel!
good morning Sunshine!

Tig 01-07-2005 10:21 PM

shad, add journaling for me. My journaling has gotten sloppy - need to tight up!

happy2bme 01-08-2005 02:08 AM

Hmm. Having a bit of trouble staying logged in. The computer keeps eating my cookie and knocking me out as a foreign substance.

I have been spying on you all week long but haven't had the energy to post. It's been quite a horrible week. I am glad it's Friday. Very glad. First week on the job, self orientation, no one tells you anything so it is a journey to discover what you need whether you know it or not. But I have survived.

We put a bid in on a house and it was accepted. Home inspection on Tuesday - we don't forsee any serious problems. The current owners have it in immaculate condition. I feel so badly for the woman - they put a ton of money into the house upgrading and fixing it up. The wife got it JUST the way she wanted it - fixed and decorated and the husband got transferred out of state. I'm not much into antiques but they have some incredibly awesome pieces. DH was drooling over himself. It's an older house than what we wanted and perhaps a tad bit less room than we would have liked but when we saw the loving condition this house was cared for, we knew we couldn't pass it up. It has an incredible pool out back and a lovely patio out back for having morning coffee. It has a Japanese Maple out by the front door - I wanted a house with a Japanese Maple. I don't know how to properly care for one but I wanted one. If all goes well we will close the end of the month and probably move mid month next month tho there isn't much to clean and paint from the looks of what we saw in the house. I am excited as I hate this apartment. I don't have much of what I was supposed to have delivered. The upstairs neighbors make lots of noise all hours of the night and the lock on the front door is quite rickety. I can tolerate being here because I know it won't be long. Would be miserable if I was stuck here for 6 months or a year. It's nearly 1 am and the people upstairs sound like they are having wrestling matches upstairs, complete with throwing themselves against the walls. I'm surprised DH is snoring through it.

This new job is going to have me dragging along. So very much to do. Typical of today's business - lots to do, not enough people. Keep working hard if you want to keep working. I will work hard do the best I can and enjoy my house on the weekends.

I will join your challenge next week. I don't have my gym equipment - wish now I'd packed the resistance bands but I will do upper body weights with filled 1 liter water bottles. I have already started doing crunches this week when I get home from work.

Gads, I have just gone out and yelled at the neighbors upstairs. They must be having a party. I'm sure DH would tell me to just leave it alone. I'm sure we will find they have spent the rest of the night flipping ciggies off the balcony and unto our cars below. Our patio and walkway is filled with all kinds of butts. When I smoked I ALWAYS cleaned up after myself so I am less tolerant of others messes. I suspected it was the upstairs people causing the mess. We will see in the morning. At least they seem to have quieted down.

I will try to get some sleep now. Here's a pic of the house. Take care and I will try and catch up with you over the weekend - we've been having problems with spotty internet service too.

Meadow 01-08-2005 02:30 AM

Happy-the house looks big to me and grand! Fingers crossed the inspection goes well and you are in there soon. You will have to update your profile here now that you are a Southern belle.

Mel-BIG HUG! Look after yourself. Your poor eyes.

Shad-did I say thank you for doing this challenge and making the list and getting us organized and visual with it? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...uwithroses.gif

Shad 01-08-2005 05:33 AM

Why thank you Meadow. The roses look lovely.
Happy, so good to hear from you. The house looks very nice. Fairly grand as well. Hope you enjoy cleaning the windows. Hope all goes well with the inspections and the closing of the sale. So you managed to find some rotten neighbours in Tennessee as well! Ah well they are all over the world.

I've updated my signature to add happy and put in the other things others wanted. So every time I post, you will all see what you are supposed to be doing.

Having said that, better go and grab the cans and sit down to watch my usual Saturday night lineup, otherwise I will have failed on the first day. See ya

Shad~ figured I better jot it down for safe keeping! I have already done the weights and will move on to my pedals. No bakery stuff in the house so I should be good to go and no soda either! Hope your day is a better one for Sunday. I have had many days slip past me. One blink and they are gone. Perhaps you needed a break from all the hustle and bustle. Nice too that you had a long chatty lunch with your friend! Good food for the soul too! good Morning sunshine:flow2:

Linus~ glad the monitor is back to normal and the family is well?!?!?

Meadow~Off we go to Shad's gym!!! Wonder what surpriseds will await us there!

I am going to try and post in the mornings when the eyes are fresh. Last night I was very depressed about them. Hope the weekend is a great one and have a nice day!

Hollyhock 01-08-2005 09:27 AM

I slept til 9 this morning and was supposed to be leaving then to go give my Grandma a perm. I have rearranged the day.

Roseblush 01-08-2005 09:39 AM

Morning

We are starting out with some good stuff. Thanks to Shad. So glad everyone is ready to our first goals. Happy the house does look grand as meadow said. It has a beautiful lot. Sorry the job is such a drag it will just take some time to get it under your belt and make it the way you want it to be.
Mel, gosh I hate to her that you are having problems again. Do you have anything to put in your eyes to help ease that horrible feeling? Miss you when you aren't on here giving us your glowing personality.
My eating this week has been very good. My little sweet tooth has been satisfied with a few little vanilla wafer cookies so that is good. Have not even touch the kisses with carmel in the goodie bowl at work. I am also going to give my tread mill that is down in the basement a good once over the relay switch keeps kicking off discouraging when you have a good walk going. Trying to also do 1 mile to start everyday. but I have to fix it first.
I will be taking in a few girls hockey games this weekend our highschool team is having a tournament here last nights game was very good. We won 3 to 2 most all the goals were scored in the last 5 minutes very exciting.
We are getting some snow but not the huge number of inches they keep prediciting.... winter here has been mild so far. When people get fussy about this weather I just have to laugh..... after 20 years in Alaska winters this is a joy.
Linus, hope everything is well. Don't over due and hurt that back of yours any more....and how is the no fag thing coming along..... we are cheering you on all the way!
Well ladies good luck with your goals and we have each other for support.
Thanks Shad for starting us down the road!
Peace,
Nae

Roseblush 01-08-2005 10:13 AM

Had to come back and tell you that as the day lightened outside when I went for my next cup of coffee out in the field in front of my house was the winter herd of about 100 elk grazing and pawing through the snow for a bite to eat....I love to see them... very cool.
Just wanted to share!
have a great day everyone! Roseblush

Shad 01-08-2005 03:50 PM

Morning everyone.
I hope you all got motivated and shifted them arms last night or today in some cases. I did mine, all the while feeling fairly stupid sitting there watching The Bill with 2 cans of cat food waving up and down in the air. However I did sort of feel it in the muscles of the top of the arms so it was doing something. I wondered if it would with all the weights I lift at the gym.

Since I didn't achieve as much as I hoped yesterday, today will be busy one. And I am going out to dinner with my nephew as it was his birthday yesterday. At least it is not going to be a hot day, it's actually quite cool at the moment. Don't mind that at all right now.

Happy, Mel mentioned a butterfly garden at the house. Well strangely enough I was looking through some old magazines last night (I'm throwing them out, but checking to see that there is nothing I want out of them first) when up pops a page on plants and suggestions for a butterfly garden. It has a selection of plants and where to plant them and other things to keep Madam Butterfly in ecstacy. I may try some of it in a spare spot in the garden myself. When you are all sorted out and have the office set up again, I'll fax or send you a copy (along with the Christmas stuff I promised you) Most of the plants are fairly common, I'm sure you will have them over there plus you will need to find some natives to the area to attract the local species of butterfly.

Rose, enjoy the elk. I was reading along there and for a moment was wondering about why you were having coffee out in the field by the house, then realised I was reading it all wrong. It's much too early in the morning for me to think about grammar and elk on the front lawn but it must be a great sight. *sigh* just think if building goes on like you were previously thinking it might, sights like those will disappear forever.

Time for breakfast. I'm am actually feeling a bit hungry at the moment, coffee's finished, action should now start.
