Good Morning

:coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

Good Friday Morning Ladies. Hope everyone had a great night. I sort of did, but Andrew woke up like 4 times and Ally once. They go right back to sleep, but they still disturb me. I overall, haven't been sleeping well this pregnancy. Even when I do sleep, I sleep light and feel like I'm half in and half out, I think because I know the kids will be getting up and I hate being disturbed so I stay half way on this side, I don't know if that makes since.

Let's see...

Chrily, glad to know more about you. Sorry about RA. My mom suffers from that. She got it when she was in her mid 30's and she's now 51. It is in remission and has been but it still flares up occasionally and she has to take meds for it.

Penny's QOTD from Wednesday: we don't really like animals. I used to but dh doesn't and he's worn off on me. We have two labs, Avery and Rocker. Brother and sister. They are annoying and I wouldn't mind getting rid of them. I prefer cats, we usually keep a couple outside but allow them to come in sometimes. They ran away when we got the dogs, lol.

Welcome Amy, glad to meet you. I'm Crystal, 27 yo sahm of 3; almost 4. Alisa will be 6 in a couple of weeks, Ally is 3, Andrew is 21 months and I'm due Feb. 1st with #4. Having a sono next week to find out what it is. This is the last one, dh gets his vasectomy TODAY!!! I live in Texas and homeschool Alisa. Hope you stick around and you WILL find the support you need and want and a few friends along the way.

Penny, I can't take dh, I don't have a sitter. I was hoping his mom would offer to watch them, but she has to watch them next Tuesday so I can go to the doc so she never offered. But that's okay, she's taking him and driving him home. I know, I know, weird to have your mom take you to get a vasectomy, but not for his family. So glad you are okay from Ivan and hope you had a good night.

Cindi, hope Christian is doing better today. Hope those storms are gone.

Leigh, so glad dh will be home. It looks like next week he'll be headed out again because of Jeanne, but we'll hope and pray not.

Hello to Mel, Michelle, Jill, Spryng, Jaymi, Angel, Cheri, Deana, Ricci, Geri and everyone else out there. Wish everyone a great day.

We are gonna clean mom's and do school but the time we do it ALL depends on Andrew and when he wakes up this morning. So I'm sure I'll be back around in a little while. Mil will be here around 8 to pick up dh and I'm gonna try to have breakfast ready so she can eat if she wants. I'll talk to you all later.

mompen 09-17-2004 08:06 AM

Crystal,
Hope all goes well with dh. Is he a big baby when he gets sick? I am worried about my dh having his done and crying for me to wait on him hand and foot.....lol

AMY WELCOME!!!! I'm so happy you joined us! The only problem is that these beautiful ladies are chatty chatty.....lol So check in often today.....lol We are glad to have you!

Well I log out and ya'll chat a few minutes after that.....lol I could not keep my eyes opened any longer.....lol

Have a great morning! I definetely need a flylady challenge today and I am gonna challenge myself to another
100oz of water today!!!

watkinsguru 09-17-2004 08:25 AM

Penny, dh can be and said he's going to be, but we'll see about that. I'll have to do all I can to keep kids away from him. They are always climbing in his chair and jumping on him wanting him to play and he's gonna lay around and watch boring movies and expect the kids to stay quiet, so I'll have my hands full.

spryng 09-17-2004 09:18 AM

Good morning all!!

Ok, first of all, my WI... I'm only up 1/2 lb from what my siggy says!!!!! I'm psyked about that because I was up to 127.5 the other day after all my terrible eating when dh was home. So most of that is gone and that 1/2 lbs will be gone this week, I know it!! :)
Today I will be gone most of the morning. My usual friday grocery day and I also get to buy the Sims 2!!!! I'm so excited about it! So if I am MIA, lol... it's because I'm addicted. So just call me and tell me to get off the computer!! ;)
I guess I missed Penny's questions yesterday: we only have one animal... a fish (siamese fighting fish, or beta as they are called) a bright deep red one named Flame that my dh drives me crazy about because he calls him fire, lol. Just to tease me of course.

Penny, what are you up today? besides flylady stuff, lol.

Crystal, if I remember right you didn't sleep great before your pregnancy but I'm sure now that you are expecting it's even harder to get comfortable and all that. Are you a belly sleeper? I am and when I'm pregnant I'm miserable at night because I couldn't roll onto my stomach. I don't think it is weird your MIL is driving your dh today Michelle had a party when her dh went in! LOL.. invited family from out of town and everything! LOL! It was a family event, lol. I hope they got lots of great footage on film, lol.

Welcome Amy!!! I am Spryng, mother of 3 (4,3,1) been married 6 years now and I'm 24 so we are close in age :) I look forward to getting to know you better and post often ok?

Geri, so glad you got to chat with me last night (lol ;) ) it was great fun!! Along with the rest of you that talked about me when I left, LOL!!

Deana, so was spring hill fun? I've always drove past it and never stopped in. That restuarant sounds delicious though!!! But I'll pass on the sour kraut, lol.

Leigh, every year I tell myself I need a storm supply box that has flashlights, a heater, blankets, etc for winter but I never get around to actually doing it and then we get hit by a winter storm and I'm forced to go to my MIL because they are prepared, lol. So I know how you feel. So glad your lights came back on and your dh will be home today!!! My dh will be home this upcoming thursday!

Ok, I think I am caught up, lol. Guess I'll get off here and get around so I can leave. Have a great friday all!!! Let's make a commitment to stay OP this weekend ok? how about a challenge?? I'm there if you are! ;) TTYL!

Bayleysmom 09-17-2004 09:32 AM

Good early morning guys! Damn dogs are barking outside my window and I can't stand it so I got up to check here and see if they will stop! That has to bet the most annoying thing ever!! So to answer your question Penny LOL I have to Rotties named Banks and Jayde. Before we had the baby we spent time with them but now with Bayley I feel bad cuz all they do is hang out by themselves and destroy the backyard. I think we might take them to the humane society so they can get some owner that will give them some attention. We also have a cat names Mulan and I have two freshwater tropical fish tanks. One tank is 30 gallons and has all my big fish and the other is 20 gallons and I had to set it up cuz one of my fish had babies and the other were eating them!! YUCK anyone want some cichlids? I have tons and need to get rid of them!! Anyway those are my animals! LOL

Ok so I'm tired again and I think I will go to bed. I'll get personal when I get up again! LOL TTYL

Deana1113 09-17-2004 09:41 AM

Tgif......not!!!!!

It's Friday but that isn't good here. This is dh's weekend to work all 3 nights. Tomorrow is our Country Fair Day and tonight is the Youth Parade. Andrew, Matthew and I are in the Youth Parade for Color Guard (carrying the flags and leading the parade), then Erik, my oldest is in Color Guard tomorrow and has other things he has to do for scouts in the morning. Tomorrow morning is the games for kids so we'll be going in for that. Thank goodness it's only 3 miles from home.

Welcome Amy. I'm Deana, sahm to Erik 16, Andrew 8, Matthew 7 and Abby 4. I'm 36, almost 37 so I'm like the second oldest here, behind Geri of course.....no offense Geri, love ya girly. Definitely check in several times a day or you will be totally lost....these girls can really talk. ;) .

Well I have to take Abby to get her chicken pox shot this morning. Dh gets to go with us, so she will be braver since he will be there. She is good about them anyway, but she is such a Daddy's girl it will help. Then she has school today....YEAH!!!

Spryng: Spring Hill was ok, we just went to where we needed to then stopped in a Casey's to use the bathroom....water you know. We didn't really look around much. The restaurant at Cabela's was ok. I think the burgers that dd and dh had were probably better than what I had. They were fresh off the grill and flame broiled. They looked good, but I didn't dare. I ate bad enough as it was. And who said we talked about you after you left? Were you spying on us?

Crystal: Hope dh's vas goes good and he's not too much to take care of.

Michelle: what can I say? Timing is everything...... ;)

Jill and Kristin: Thanks for the chat last night, even though I stayed up wayyyyyyy too late.....it was a blast.

Well I better get ready to go, dh is in changing out of his hunting clothes so we can go in about half an hour. I'll be back later.

QOTD: I ahd a really good one and now I can't remember it (old age creeping up on me....and mom brain :dizzy: ) So this will have to do.....Coffee? yes or no and how....black, with cream, with sugar or both? With flavored creamer, usually hazelnut, and Splenda. I have a theory about people who can drink black ocffee, like my dh, they burnt their tongue when it was too hot and they can't really taste it..... :D

See you all later.

AuntieEm 09-17-2004 09:43 AM

Morning, Ladies! I hope all's well with everyone today - and it's Friday!

Crystal - good luck with you dh, and I hope today goes as well as yesterday did. When dh has his procedure done, we're shipping the kids off to my Mom's (which will actually be across the street by then!) for the Saturday after - but when they're here, I've already told him that he'll have to lock himself in the bedroom. I won't be able to keep all these kids and animals under control, so he'll need to go hide out. He has this heavy brass bell that he can ring if he needs me!

Penny - We have too many pets (all inside)...it's always just crazy around here, kids everywhere screaming and yelling, neighborhood kids in and out at all times, dogs chasing cats, cat chasing cat, it's just a zoo!
Oscar - Peke Mix - 3yo
Angel - black cat - 4yo
Duke - large terrier mix - 6yo
??? - 4 month old kitten - still no name, youngest son bought her for $4
without permission - she and Oscar are best buds

Deana - Hi! I saw the post about you having a naked picture of Erik to use against him, now I know his age! Lol! I love antique malls, hope you enjoyed yourself! Do you collect anything?

Geri - When we went to the consultation the nurse gave us the typical info to read before the doc comes in. While he was reading his, I glanced at him - his eyes were so big, and I asked "What are you protecting yourself for? You're just reading a brochure!" Lol - subconciously his hand went down to cover himself while he was reading, he didn't even realize he did it! When he asked if I'd do it if I were him, I told him "3 childbirths and yours is a 15 min. procedure?? At least you get to take pain medicine, and don't even get me started about the hemmoroids!" He got mad at me too!

Cheri - Oh, Jones House!! Yes maam, delicious!! Is your family still in this area?

Leigh - yes, power was out from about 2-6. We were expecting power loss again last night, but the alarm went off this morning so we were spared. Our dogs were on edge all day yesterday too, so they spent a good bit of time in their crates. It took me forever to round up batteries and the flashlights - the kids take the flashlights and use them as microphones even though we have 2 real ones (???).

Amy - welcome! I'm new here too. I'm Emily, SAM/HS mom to Brad, Mike, and Grace. Everyone's been so great, I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself!

Jill - what have you got planned for Bayley's 1st birthday?!

Today after the kids get their schoolwork done, we're going to my parent's house to take pictures for flyers, then help pack some more boxes. We've been packing up stuff for the last 2 months so there really isn't much to do, but knowing there's only 2 weeks left, we feel crunch-time coming!! I still have to call and arrange movers, change utilities, and make sure the builder gets the house finished before appraisal (all that's really left is carpet, painting, change some lighting, and some minor repair work).

I hope everyone has a wonderful day! You are all such a great group of ladies, thank you for welcoming me into your group!

-Emily

Deana1113 09-17-2004 09:43 AM

BTW I posted pics on the website if anyone cares to look. Just never mind the one of my fat body, it's embarrassing, that's why I'm dieting.

watkinsguru 09-17-2004 09:44 AM

Spryng, I am very much a belly sleeper. That's usually the ONLY way I can sleep and at times I can still lay on my belly but not for long, it's like I'm laying on a giant grapefruit. I honestly thought about having a vasectomy party too. Isn't that funny. I am sooooooo excited about it today. Dh said he was alittle nervous this morning but I can imagine. So in the next hour it will be done.
Andrew slept until 815, can't believe that, so we're gonna head out shortly to clean mom's house. Then we'll be back to take care of the big baby, lol.
Okay, going to clean the kitchen quickly. TTYL

Deana1113 09-17-2004 09:48 AM

Emily: The antique mall was ok. I ended up sitting with dd to let her have some ice cream while we waited for daddy. I collect anything with wolves on it. They are such beautiful creatures and sooooo misunderstood. Way too funny about your dh's reaction to literature. I never got the joy of that, I was the one who ended the chances of having another, after 4 kids.
Hope you have a great day as well.

spryng 09-17-2004 09:50 AM

QOTD--- no coffee for me please... it can smell so good but why does it taste so bad!? lol.. never liked it at all, can't even stand a cappucino because I can taste the coffee in it. Of course whiskey is like that for me too... too strong I guess unless it's a mixed drink and I can't really taste it. Well, you weren't asking that, lol

Deana, yes I was spying on you!! LOL! No, Kristin pm'ed me and told me about those lovely movies you all wanted me to star in, lol. So obviously I was on your mind after I left, lol.

Emily, are you moving far away?

Crystal, I hope everything goes great today! I would be excited about it too if I were expecting my 4th, lol. Good luck! and I hope he heals fast.

spryng 09-17-2004 09:52 AM

Deana it's so nice to put a face to your name now!!! I think that picture is going to be a wonderful before picture, you have a great looking family!! thanks for sharing them!

Ok, I've got to get dressed now, my favorite jeans are in the dryer so I've been waiting on them. TTYL!

AuntieEm 09-17-2004 09:53 AM

Spryng

Morning to you too, Spryng! You slipped in as I was posting!
Have you played any of the Tycoon games? They're fun and addictive as well. Gracie especially loves Zoo Tycoon with the dinosaurs when they escape and go after the guests (Lol, should I be worried about her?!?!)

I'm actually moving my parents - they've both had many health problems this past year, so we all decided that it would be a good idea to have them move closer. When looking in the area, my parents decided on the house across the street!! Which is good, because I love them dearly, as does my dh. Dad's doing OK now, Mom's been through a bit more. She had cancer (praise God she's clear), but many complications due to it - surgery, 6 blood transfusions, 1 platelet transfusion, kidney failure. Our goal was to get her moved before she starts dialysis, which is probably going to start in November.

-Emily

watkinsguru 09-17-2004 09:56 AM

QOTD: coffee, coffee, coffee YES, YES, YES. About 3 cups and I usually take the first and sometimes second with flavored French Vanilla creamer and the last I take black. It's not my favorite to take it black and I usually don't finish that cup but I enjoy it.
Okay, gotta go.

AuntieEm 09-17-2004 10:04 AM

OK - new here - so where so I go to see pictures?

-Emily

AuntieEm 09-17-2004 10:09 AM

QOTD - none for me please. I'm a Coke in the Morning type girl.

OK - I REALLY need to get off here now - the kids keep asking "When are we starting, when are we starting?" I didn't tell them that the county schools are out again today - if I did, they wouldn't want to do their schoolwork!!

-Emily

spryng 09-17-2004 10:11 AM

Emily, this is our sister site, lol.. we go here to post pics and recipes and chat

Alora1978 09-17-2004 10:18 AM

Good Morning Deana, Spryng, Penny, Emily, Crystal... and everyone else! Thank you all for the warm welcome! Today is gonna be stormy, windy, and rainy. :( Hopefully all of this stuff will be moved out by the weekend. My son is feeling pretty rotten today. He has some kind of little blister inside of his mouth that is making it painful for him to eat. I picked up this stuff his doc called in called "Magic Mouthwash", but it doesn't really help much. Dh is off work today so he could go to a doc appointment. He'll be home later on and will probably rob me from my computer for the rest of the day. LOL Funny you should have a question about disliking animals. We had to get rid of one of our dogs last month. He kept getting loose and going to our neighbors house and killing their chickens! When I went after him the last time he was growling and snapping at me!!! He had never done that before and I wasn't about to take the chance of him getting around my son, so I had to call the Animal Control. I know that was bad, but I kept having awful thoughts of him getting loose and biting someone. Now we only have one dog, and she's very old... but atleast she doesn't bite or growl. Well, I guess I"ll get off here, my son is trying to force feed me fruit snacks that he can't eat and I have a mountain of laundry to tackle. Take care everyone!

Good morning ladies!

Em....  re dh!

Coffee... black...love the creamers but don't need the extra calories. i tend to put way too much creamer in when I do use it :D

Went right to sleep last night after chat :D and got up too late to exercise this morning...naughty me. Maybe I'll get some in tonight. I have been a bad girl eating since vacation. Really looking forward to my WI on Monday....NOT. I have 2 parties to go to on Saturday..one at lunch and one for dinner. Oh well.

Gotta run to work. TTYL!

Welcome Amy!!

BIGtimeLOSER 09-17-2004 11:06 AM

Morning Chicks!

I didn't lose power yesterday at all...I just lost steam and went to bed early!!!So I didn't even get my last bottle of water in, dang it!! But I did very well anyway! Christian is drinking better, but only milk and his doc said that was just fine, as long as he is drinking something at this point. He doesn't like sweet drinks much at all, which most of the time is a great thing! He is laying around watching tv not complaining a bit. Yesterday he was jumping on the bed and I almost had a heart attack!! He wants to do what the other kids are doing so badly... not that they were jumping on the bed, just running and playing around. It's going to be a long week or so, we can't even go to church this weekend. Maybe dh will take the rest of the kiddos.

Yes Deana...I did get him jello and he ate a little, but not much.

I am getting ready to go have my biopsy/sonohysterogram thingy done, no one has called to cancel yet, so I will plan on going and call them before I drive an hour to get there. Thank goodness the boys are out of school, I don't have to find Christian a babysitter! I am trying to get things done around here so I can relax if I am in pain when I get back, so I will be off for a while, I think! I always say that, and still come back to check up on you all!

AMY.. I am cindi mom to 7 kids, you will love these ladies!!

Emily...Alot of people from our church, including our Pastor live in Temple. Our church is in Villa Rica, though. My kids are 18,17,14,9,5,4, and 2. My dd is the 4 yo the rest are boys!! I SOOO agree with you, girls are something else!! God only gave me one girl and now I know why!! I never thought they'd be moody and hormonal from birth!!

To the rest of you...Day 2 of that water challenge is underway...1 down, 5 to go!!!! I will slow down before the appointment, don't need to have to pee during something like that! I will feel enough discomfort as it is!! LOL!!

OH!!! I was 2 lbs down on my weigh in today...but still not back to my lowest weight since beginning this journey, so it doesn't really count to me, but anyway. 2 is good!!! I hope it continues, all this stress is making me eat more!

LAter Taters!

Love to all!!

sydsmom 09-17-2004 11:07 AM

watkinsguru 09-17-2004 11:36 AM

Kristin, Andrew isn't usually too crabby after sleeping like that. Depending on how early he wakes up in the morning depends on one or two naps a day. I prefer one nap because it's easier to get him to sleep at night. He didn't wake up until 815 this morning, first time ever I think, so he'll take a nap after lunch for about 2 hours and that will be it.
I've learned to deal with it and handle it and try to get a nap myself, but we have to school while he naps so I don't usually get one. But we've got about 7 more school days before we take a fall break, 2 or 3 weeks. Can't wait for that, I'll nap like crazy then.
Back from running errands already. Post office, cleaners and mom's. Haven't heard from dh yet but expect to soon. I'll let you all know. TTYL

Deana1113 09-17-2004 11:47 AM

Ok we're back from the doctors office. Abby did so well getting her shot that the nurse gave her a sucker, a candy and she got a sticker. Oh and the cool Hello Kitty bandaid. She didn't cry, winced a little and didn't squeeze daddy's fingers too bad.

Jill: You're on the West Coast honey. What are you doing up so early?

Spryng: ok ok now I know not to talk about you when I think you're gone.....LOL Thank you for the compliment on the pics. It's hard to believe the only 2 that are full blooded siblings are the middle 2 boys. They don't look much alike. But would you believe people used to ask if they were twins because they are only 15 months apart.....sheesh. And I had a friend call me one day when Matthew was about 6 months old and tell me that someone they saw in town had seen us and asked if Matthew was half white half black. He is darker skinned but that is the Indian from my dad's side. Every male in the family for the last 4 generations has been. My brother is soooo dark and with his little moustache looks Mexican. WTG on that half pound, keep doing it girl.

Amy: Nice to see you again. Glad no one scared you off.....LOL. Hope the weather straightens up soon for you gals.

Geri: WTG on those 2 pounds. Get back to eating right or I'll have to come to WI to get you. It's not that far you know.

Cindi: So glad Christian is doing better today. Hope your biopsy goes well and you're aren't in too much discomfort to come talk to us. WTG on the 2 pounds. Keep it up. Even though I'll be running all day, I'm up for a water challenge today. I need it after eating bad yesterday. I have a 16 ounce bottle I drink from all the time. Working on the first. Let's do it girls.

Kristin: 10 am and you're still in your pj's??? Must be nice. Hope you get everything done and have a nice lunch date with your friends. And yes the virtual slumber party was a blast. It's Friday but I still have to get up early tomorrow to take the kids to the fair. So not sure how long I will last tonight. Only got 5 hours last night....minus 4 trips to the bathroom.

Dd is telling me she is ready for lunch, and then off to school and errands. I may go get a new keyboard today. I hate this one. The space bar sticks and it takes me so long to type because I have to keep going back to put in the spaces....GRRRRR!!! Walmart has a nice black one for about $15 that goes with my black Dell and dh already told me to go get it. So I probably will after I drop off dd at school.

Hope everyone is having a great day. Will check in later.

Hello to anyone I missed.

Loveliam 09-17-2004 11:53 AM

Good mornin/afternoon. It's 11:09, but by the time I finish this it will probably be noon :lol3:

Deana- Oh, I'm waiting to see what your husband's company says. Must be a hard time for you guys - I know DH's job is safe, but still must be stressful with all the company changes :grouphug: Also, sounds like you and DH are hound people too :) DH and I love hounds . . . bassets, beagles, etc. Anyway, Liam gets his chicken pox shot next month, so let me know how DS does.

Geri- :( poor Tony!! Hope he wasn't too traumatized. That's awful.

Amy- welcome! I'm Leigh, SAHM mother to an almost 11 month old boy named Liam. I'm attempting to do Weight Watchers, but have been off plan for a few weeks. This is a great group of women and they are very supportive. I look forward to getting to know you better. Hope DS feels better today.

Crystal- oh, today's the big day for DH. Definitely keep us posted on all that. Yeah, I'm hoping Jeanne goes off into the Atlantic, but I have a feeling she's heading for North or South Carolina :(

Good morning, Penny- whatcha doin' today??? :D

Spryng- :cheer: on getting your weight back down so quickly. You must be working hard! Good for you. I say the same thing every year too (about needing storm supplies), but I think I'm actually going to follow through this time.

Jill- so the dogs don't entertain one another enough? I always wonder how having two would be, but I think my hands are full enough with Liam and Duncan.

Emily- yes, I'm definitely thinking of putting together an emergency supply box so everything is together in one place. That's neat about your parents being across the street!

Cindi- glad you didn't lose power! I'm thinking of you today. Post later to let us know how it goes.

Kristin-!!!! OMG, you're just like me. I was just thinking about how I have to explain to DH that all our recent charges are things I'm buying for Liam's birthday LOL. But I often have tiny shopping sprees while he's gone. I think of it as his out-of-town tax LOL. Hey, I need SOMETHING to entertain me while he's gone! Stroller blanket should arrive any day. Can't wait to see it in person.

QOTD 1: oh I love coffee! Must have it, but ususally only one cup in the a.m. Cream and sugar for me :)

I think I also ask one QOTD today, so here is mine.
QOTD: How did you decide, or how WILL you decide whether or not to have more than one child?

need2losemore 09-17-2004 11:55 AM

Good morning everyone.
Welcome Amy and Emily. I am Ricci (pronounced Ricki) SAHM to Eric,6 and RJ 4. I am going to school at night to become a cosmotologist. I am not on here as much as I used to be. Tryin to fix that.
Hi everyone. I have to go back and catch up on the posts. I hope all of you affected by IVAN are doing well. Sounds like everyone is doing good. We are going to start looking at houses this weekend. So tired of this fricken apartment. School is going good. It's hard learing something new, but after doing it a few times, its not bad at all.
Sorry not to get personal right now. I am going to go post a picture of Eric in the limo he got to ride in on Tuesday. I will be on here more this weekend. Have a great day.

Loveliam 09-17-2004 12:03 PM

QOTD: We still aren't sure whether or not we'll have more than one baby. I think it's such a complex decision, with so many considerations. I think a lot about how my relationship with Liam might change with the addition of a sibling. I also think about pre-eclampsia thing and how I really don't think I want to go through that again. On the other hand, it all goes so quickly and I can't believe Liam's soon going to be one. So, these are all things we're still weighing. Guess I have some time left to decide LOL.

Also- photobucket is down right now, so can't post my pic of Duncan until later :(

CheriBrorsen 09-17-2004 12:19 PM

Friday, Friday...

Hey yall--hope you are looking forward to a good weekend. =)

Who's doing the water challenge today? I'll join ya.

Leigh--I in no way thought you were being judgemental. I was completely agreeing with you about why they didn't evacuate, I was saying it was still sad, but (I was thinking in my head and obviously it did carry over via my post) that they had made a poor choice in not leaving first. SO glad your hubby will be home tomorrow and that yall weren't without power for long. :) I too need to get together an emergency box. I used to be uber prepared LOL I had what I deemed the van box and it was full of changes of clothes, toiletries etc basically it would have had us prepped for a overnight stay somewhere. But since moving to TX I haven't restocked and don't even keep it in the van lately.

Spryng-too cool that you are back within 1/5 lb ...you are right it will come off too and you'll be right back to reaching your next personal goal. You are such a great inspiration. :)

Geri--is the nurse still alive? Just wondering, cause I would have had to beat her about the head and body. :)

Crystal--hope DH does well with his surgery. I'm going to order the BOB books off amazon...I want several of the sets. We'll use those for daily reading 'practice' after 100 EL is done. The Rod and Staff, I like their readers for the simplicity of them...I'm not sure that I'll do any of their other stuff, althogh I do get their catalog.

Emily--Yes, my family all still live in that area. My parents live in Newnan, where my dad pastors a church. My grandparents live in Sandhill (know where that is?...between carrollton and villa rica) oldest brother lives in Bremen (he's a UPS driver and delievers temple I'm thinking...I'll have to confirm :)) my other brother lives in Fairfield Plantation and works for Delta. And various aunts and uncles all live in and around Carrollton.

And why is it I can never remember everyone???? I'm goign to start getting paper and pen and writing it all down. :)

So HELLO and HAPPY FRIDAY to everyone.

Now for the QOTD.

Coffee...in a word YES. YES YES YES YES. :) I'm pretty far from a coffee snob though...lol, I drink foldgers here at home with sugar free french vanilla creamer and sometimes s/f french vanilla syrup. I never ever never would drink a cup of black coffee. My hubby drinks black coffee and thats just gross. Heh :) I love convienience store cappichino (which should really confirm the fact that I'm far from a coffee snob) I do like starbucks...but honestly the fact I'm paying $5 for my coffee tends to effect the taste ROTFLOL I mean it better taste better than my foldgers if I'm paying $5 a cup, right?

Pets--none currently. We had a dog in GA, his name is Kudzu and he now lives with my parents where he is fat and happy. I adopted him from the shelter when we were stationed in Kansas. He is a lab/shep mix and is honestly the best dog ever. But when we left our house and yard and moved to the apt, my parents agreed to keep him since he would have more room and such. I miss him. He's a sweetie.

Baby Names--We use a biblical name and honor someone in our family. So Nathan Dayne is from the old testament prophet Nathan and my husband is Danish so Dayne...meaning ''of the danes''. Daniel Asbury is from the old testament too, Daniel, and Asbury is my paternal great granddaddy's middle name...he was Charile Asbury. Elijah Erik ...again from the old testament Elijah and Eric is Donald's middle name but we wanted to use the more traditional Danish spelling and so we went with the EriK spelling. For a girl I always liked Rebekah or Lillian Esther (Lily...Lillian was my paternal grandmothers name...esther or rebekah from the bible.

Ok...handwriting is done and today is art day. We are making quilt squares and i'm going to frame Nathan's :) Oh and "The Rag Coat" by Leslie Miller is a wonderful book...very heart touching and has a beautiful message of friendship and forvigness.

I'll check in later with my water report and I promise to get personal. :)

Deana1113 09-17-2004 12:38 PM

Leigh: yes dh is sure his job is secure and the layoffs are bad, and the only thing we may have to adjust is the schedule. If he gets put on 3-11:30 he'll leave here at 2:30 instead of 6:30 and won't see the boys all week long. He would get home at almost midnight. And the 3 days a week that dd goes to preschool he would be able to take her but then wouldn't see her til the next day. My reason for mot wanting himt o get that shift is that I would be home with all the kids, every night and bedtime can be horrible if he's not here to stand over them. We're really hoping he gets the 11-7:30 shift because then he would still sleep most of the day and not leave til 10:30 at night, after the kids are asleep.... that would be heaven for me. Hope he finds out more tonight when he goes in. He will call me on his break around 9:30 so maybe I will know by chat time.....So far dd is doing jsut fine with her shot. I am actually against giving it to them because I wanted them to get it naturally. I worry about the possibility of her getting it from the shot, which I ahve heard can be a worse breakout. We will see. None of the boys ever had it, but they started school before it was law that they have to have it.

Leigh's QOTD: I think I'm a little past this one. I'll let those with one answer it..... :D .

Have to get ready to take dd to school then I'm off to Walmart and to drop off some donation to the Thrift Shop and look for some more painting shirts to give to preschool. I have 6 I am sending today but they could always use more. I buy the for like a dime and too big for the kids, then they can just put them on backward and roll up the sleeves.

Be back later.

watkinsguru 09-17-2004 12:47 PM

Leigh's QOTD: I always knew I wanted more than one. And then when Alisa LOVED playing with other kids and we didn't have anyone for her to play with my heart broke. We tried for a while and then Ally came. I knew I wanted another one hoping for a boy and got that. I knew he was a boy when I was pregnant and I really, really thought he was my last and was pleased with that and now this one. But I always wanted either 3 or 4. Can't imagine having only one. I wanted plenty and 4 is perfect for me.
Dh called and is headed home. It went great. 10 minutes mostly, the shot hurt more than anything else and it's wearing off so he's got some advil. Otherwise, it was fine. He never got nervous or sick feeling or anything. So he'll be babied today and he'll start moving around this weekend. Just can't get hot and sweaty, lol. It's done, YEAH!!! (of course, my dad had to have it done twice, 1st time didn't work), but since I'm pregnant now, we have plenty of time to know if it worked, he goes back for 2 checkups.
Okay gonna have chili dogs for lunch and then school. TTYL

Bayleysmom 09-17-2004 01:52 PM

WHOA SLOW DOWN!!!!! Geez I sleep in a little and you guys go and post 3 pages!! Anyway I decided to stay home today and do free weights here instead of going to the gym. I've been doing good for 2 weeks going everydays so I decided I could do it here today. I haven't weighed yet but I will later, I know I am probably still up from what my siggy says but like Spryng it will be gone soon. I think another reason why it's been so hard to get rid of my weekend eating is that I stopped breastfeeding. I was using up a lot of calories doing that and now I'm not so I think that's part of it. Oh well I guess I will have to do it the old fashioned way like everyone else!! LOL Today mom and I are going to town to get Bayley some boots to go with her party dress and a nice shirt for us to wear at her party. Then it's mondo cleaning time! It's supposed to rain this weekend and her party is outside!!! So we are going to have to think of a backup plan I guess. My house is right across the street but we are going to have a lot of poeple and our house is small so not sure what to do. It's kind of got me down too cuz I have planned and been so excited and now it's going to rain :( Oh well it will still be fun. Oh ya and yesterday I drank 128 oz of water!! It took me all day but I did it!! So that's it for me right now, I think I will try to drink that much again today!

Deana it was great chatting with you last night! you are a crack up! Great pictures too! Now I can put a name with a face! I love it! Sounds like you are so busy this weekend, I guess I am too. I still have a lot of last minute things to do for the party. Glad Abby did good with her shot glad dh got to go to help calm her too. Let us know what happens at his work tonight and his shifts. I hope he gets what works best for you guys.

Emily my parents moved to the same town as me recently too, they just live like 2 mintues away, they used to live about 20 minutes away so it's really nice. Not that they were that far before but now that I have a baby it's nice that they are just around the corner, I'm sure you will love it too! Too funny about you not telling the kids that school was out for the public school kids, I wouldn't have either! LOL Oh and Bayleys 1st birthday has a ladybug theme and I am making her cake today or tomorrow and it will be a ladybug and I'll take lots of pictures and post them. We are supposed to be having it in the park so all the cousins can play but now it is supposed to rain so don't know what we are going to do! Hope all goes well with your schooling today!

Crystal glad dh's procedure went well. I hope he's not too much this weekend. I know how men and pain can be and it's not pretty! LOL

Spryng YAY on the only 1/2 up! That's great since it TOM and you ate bad this last weekend. I am going to try really hard this week to stay CORE and see what happens. I think it is about time to kick myself up a notch. Only think is that I'm not familiar with the point system for my free points so i may be asking you a lot of questions this week! Today is your errand day huh? I hope you get everything done. We'll have to compare menus later and tell eachother how things turn out so that we can give eachother recipes for next week!

Hi Amy!! I am Jill SAHM to Bayley who will be 1 on Sunday! Glad to have you here. There are a lot of new people coming in lately but I think we scare them off cause we post so much! So make sure you check in a lot so you can keep up. Let's hear more about you!

Geri sorry I came in too late to chat with ya! We'll have to do it again soon!

Cindi sounds like Christian is doing better, that's great! I hope you do well too, please keep us updated if you feel up to it! Good LUCK!!! Good Job on the 2 pounds down, we are in the same boat so let's just focus on we are down again instead of trying to play catch up K?

Kristin are we going to see you this weekend? I hope so but dh is home so you will probably be MIA like Spryng was last weekend. I hope you get everything done that you want! I good luck hiding all those things!! I know what you mean! LOL

Ya Leigh dont get two dogs it's just twice as much work! Anyway glad you got your power back and are back to normal. Bayley will be getting her Chicken Pox shot too next Friday so I'll tell you what to expect! LOL

Hi RICCI!!!

Hi Cheri great names! Bayley's middle name is Rebekah! Will you have more do you think? Or are you done?

Oh geez I've been on this thing FOREVER I need to get off and get in my workout and get my crying baby out of her crib, she was being sassy so I thought she was going to take an early nap but I guess not! I'll do QOTD later since I am neglecting my child right now!! LOL TTYL!!

Alora1978 09-17-2004 03:16 PM

Hello ladies! Well, I am officially going off the deep end! LOL... Hubby brought in a four pack of Reese cups and I ate two of them. As if there weren't enough, I made me two pieces of toast and put cinnamon butter on them. :( It's my TOM so I am naturally wanting to devour everything sweet in the house! It is so miserable here. Rainy, dreary, nothing to do. I cleaned up earlier and watched a couple shows with my son. I just wish i would stop craving sweets! That is my biggest pitfall. I plan on doing my WATP tapes again tonight and I have my water handy, so maybe I can do some damage control. Hubby is wanting to get out of the house so bad, but I am terrified of storms and it looks dark here. He's getting on my nerves though so I'm thinking of sending him off!

Jill: Thanks for the welcome, I see this is a very busy forum, but I'm up for it!

Penny: Thanks for listening to me gripe last night, I had to get that off my chest so I can move onward and forward! :)

Everyone else: You are all such an inspiration the way you are able to juggle kids/family and find time to fit in exercise! I am encouraged by everyone's weight loss so far and can only hope that I have my own success story! Talk to everyone later!

Amy

watkinsguru 09-17-2004 03:27 PM

ok gals, finished school, took right at 2 hours, the whole time Andrew napped. But I'll get to bed earlier tonight if possible.
Dh is home and resting. He's in a good mood and high spirits. Been napping and taking it easy. As the Advil wears off, he starts throbbing, but otherwise he's handling it all well.
Okay, gotta get off and find something to do.

CheriBrorsen 09-17-2004 03:54 PM

Cyndi & Leigh's QOTD

Any chance you go to Midway Macidonia?

Just wondering :)

I knew after Nathan immediately that I wanted another, just knew it. We never used any thing to prevent pregnancy and I was pregnant with Daniel when Nathan was 14 months old...delievered Daniel 13 days before Nathan's 2nd bday. With Daniel it was the same thing I knew I wanted another and was pregnant with Elijah when Daniel was 16 months old...delievered him when Daniel was newly 2 and Nathan was newly 4. After his birth something was different. It's not that I have that I AM ABSOLUTELY DONE AND NEVER EVER NEVER EVER WANT TO HAVE ANOTHER CHILD feeling. But I don't feel that ''I really want another baby'' feeling I felt after the others. So currently we are just keeping our options open but don't have plans for another. God may have other plans though. :)

Bayleysmom 09-17-2004 04:05 PM

QOTD I knew after having Bayley almost immediatley that I wanted another one and I would already be pregnant if I was done with school but I'm not so I plan to get pregant in Sept 2006 so that I can have the baby when the kids get out of school (since I will be a teacher by then) and then we'll see after that. I know we want at least 3 maybe 4 just depends on finances and how much we think we can handle.

QOTD #2: I am a coffee snob and will only drink espresso usually sugar free fat free and decaf. Don't do the caffeine thing very often. Don't own a coffee pot and have never liked home made coffee. In fact I get the least amount of coffee when I do get it from one of those stands cause I basically just like hot chocolate! LOL I'm a sweets girl can you tell?!!

Ok that's it for now. Bayley is up from her 1st nap so we are going into town with my mom! TTYL

Alora1978 09-17-2004 04:20 PM

Okay, as far as the QOTD: I don't know if I will have another child. I hate the thoughts of my son being an only child but right now I just don't know. Part of me gets this "pang" in my gut when one of my friends get pregnant, but it usually goes away. My son right now requires ALL of my attention. I'm not ruling anything out but for now my thoughts are on just one.

As far as the coffee question... I don't really drink coffee at all. I do have a coffee maker but I use it to make tea! Whenever I go to the mall I sometimes get an iced cappucino or an iced mocha. Never really cared for the hot stuff except for when I use to work and have to get up really, really early.

Amy :)

I will reach my goal of 169 by Sept. 30th if its the last thing I do!!!!!!!

Deana1113 09-17-2004 04:32 PM

I'm back from picking up dd from preschool. I was so proud of her. Half the class painted on Wed and the other today so today was Abby's turn. When I got there all the other kids were coming out with their pictures and most of them were either lines or swirls. My baby painted a full body pic of herself, with a brush, and it is soooooo good. I will have to take a pic of it and post it on msn.

Amy: Sabotage!!! Tell him where to get off. He needs to help you with your diet. If he won't, put him on the puter and we'll tell him all about it :D

Crystal: Glad "The Procedure" went well, now it's down to how he behaves at home. If he's in pain atleast you have something to use against him while you are in labor ;) .

Went to Walmart and they didn't have just a black keyboard so I ended up with a wireless keyboard and optical mouse. I swore I would never have one that could disappear easily. The bus just got here and I have to get the kids to cleaning if they want to go to the fair tomorrow and I need to clean my desk so I can rearrange and set everything up.

TTYL. After the parade.

Deana1113 09-17-2004 04:33 PM

Oh, 60 oz. down, going to get more water. Let's do this girls. 100 by the end of the day. Who all was in again, I forgot?

sydsmom 09-17-2004 05:50 PM

hey there - dd is FINALLY napping and I am sort of watching Oprah !! I just love her!!!
okay - lets see, I gotta be quick because my mom ended up coming over and helping me plant, so I did that, I really need to get more of the other stuff done that I wanted to do-ggrrr! I wish I could just stop time for a little while each day! :) dont' we all !!

Just ot let you know weekends until the end of OCtober, I will mostly be MIA ! when Dh comes home, we pack so much in to the weekends, I really don;t have time to get to the computer !

QQOTD: I always wanted a litter of children! I am an only child and dh has one brother...so I want a big family !!! Sorry Cindi, not as big as yours though!  I like you, LEigh, was worried at first if we have another, that I would be different with sYdney, my mom says though that her mom always told her....people who don't think they could love 7 children equally, don't have 7 children......(my mom was one of 7) !!! :) SO I try and think of that !!! Not sure how many we will have though, probably 4 kids is my guess! :)

wel dd is crying for some reason in her sleep adn she wants me, so I will try and get to ya'll later tonight, maybe a chat for a little while if dh will leave me alone....then again I could always take a quick break ;) ...someone here might know how that goes right??????? :lol3:  Okay - well talk to you all later! :) Have a good weekend if I dont see some of you ! !!

Love to you all!!!!!! :) :grouphug:
