Chit Chat # 72
Welcome to the Jaded Ladies!
We are a friendly group that shares all the daily aspects of our lives with each other... not just weight loss. Won't you join us? :) |
It's Tuesday!
Cristi - where are you? Hope all is well with you and yours. Marti - glad you're having fun with James! And I hope you got some good pics. Shanna - hope you're feeling better... go eat an English muffin in my name, ok? Angie - OMG, Skittles is going to love that! Maybe he'll get a massage and sit in the hot tub, too, with a Red Bull in hand, lol. The school volunteer groups will love you - you are a leader, my dear, not a worker bee. Susan - have you rescheduled your date with Tom? Hope we never have reason to call him tomcat, lol. Did you say what he does for a living? RosieKate - I already think you're fabulous! The good news is that newly gained weight isn't too hard to get off.. so I bet you'll have it back off in no time. Jen - how's everything going? Mindee - good luck at the doc today with Brandon! Julie - yw for the chili recipe. I snack twice a day and probably always will. Around 2 in the afternoon I have something worth 3-4 points, and then almost always have popcorn in the evening. But just a cereal bowl full. Sue - yay for you getting the 2 miles in! Did you ever start your scrapbooking? Hi to anyone I left out... I had a lot of fun with Barb yesterday. We ran some errands and then she and her son came out for dinner. They said it was the first homecooked meal they had had since a week ago Saturday! She raved over the WW cake, which made me feel good. They aren't going back to Florida until Thursday AM , so I'll have more time with her. BBL, |
Hey Everybody
Well I figured I would check in real quick before my lunchtime walk!! I have clinical tonight at the hospital, so this may be my only post today!!! Glad to hear that everyone is doing well, and I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their day!!!
????I have a question on the BFL, which I now know means Body For Life!!! What is that program about?? Jana - I like your dieting, the small snack really helps during the course of a day, sometimes its very hard to go on just 3 meals, because you end up damaging the good you do all day when you end up so hungry that you snack at night!!!.... thats what I used to do!!! Well I'll catch up with you gals later!!!! Remember to make healthy choices!! Julie |
Okay. I am in a better frame of mind today. Had to smile at the nice sunny day and feel good about being alive. I sat and drank coffee and watched the birds at the feeder for awhile and really gave myself a talking to. I guess I am ready to face the diet and exercise AGAIN. Quit feeling sorry for myself and just do something right.
Mom is coming for two weeks so I got her bedroom all stripped down and linens washed and ready to re-do. That makes me happy. Jana- I am keeping up with the 2 miles really well, but have just been terrible otherwise. Sounds fun with your friend who is visiting. Marti- Glad you have had a good time with James. I always smile at your exuberance. I never read, how is the job hunt? Mindee- Your Brandon sounds so precious. I have to go look at those pictures. If he likes cereal he might love bananas, my kids did. Hope everyone is off to a good start this morning. I am I think! Sue |
Jana- Liked hearing that you get snacks..:) Would you consider posting a "day in the diet" of Jana? You have done so well and can be an inspiration to us all. I think I would like to see what you eat in a day. (or two or three) I still balk at doing WW or any formal diet plan, but maybe I will change my mind.
Sue |
Good morning ladies!!!
I had a wonderful day with James a the beach yesterday...we hung out on the Jetty and sat on some rocks and watched the Sea Lions swim close to us...there were about 5 or 6. I didn't get any pictures since they weren't up long enough for me to take....and the wind was blowing so much that my hair caused me to NOT see anything!! :D We went to the new Casino in Florence...laughed at how small and CROWDED it was but went in anyway.....spent money. Lost money right away...then won $50 more than what we came in with.....then ended leaving with a $20 loss. (gambling is an addiction!! :dizzy: ) Today we are going up to Eugene to visit one of James' friends that he hasn't seen awhile then head over to the mall. So that is my day. Jana--I didn't get much pictures yesterday...only because it was so windy...but I will flip through and see if I "approve" of any of the ones that were taken. You know..I think that a picture can sometime throw you a curve in your process to lose weight....because I looked at my face and said "Is that what I REALLY look like??" Julie--Since I don't have a body for life I can't help you out there....but my sister tried it and couldn't stick with it. It involves a lot of exercise, certain foods to eat,...... I better stop, because I really don't know. Stick with what you're doing because it's working! And the pictures show it! Sue--I'm still waiting for that "special" phone call from the place I had my interview. I sent them the information they wanted and maybe they're doing a background check....So I'm hoping soon.... Hello to the rest of you girls. Sorry I didn't go back to the other thread to keep up.... Well I am in desperate need of a shower!! Nothing like sandy wind blowing through your hair and then getting ready for bed saying "I'm too tired to take a shower...I'll do that AND laundry in the morning!" You all have a great day and I will check in later |
Good Afternoon Ladies~
Been busy all morning cleaning house. Thought I needed to get my chores done before playtime! I have been so lax in my housework lately, just doing a little bit of straightening here and there so decided yesterday before I get on the computer I was going to have the house cleaned and all the laundry done. And I did it! So I am good for a couple of days anyway! My kids are more messy now than they ever were when they were younger. Not much else going on. Didn't really have much of anything to say yesterday so didn't post on the chit chat thread.
Sue and Shanna~I sure hope you ladies get to feeling better. Marti~glad to hear you and James are having a fun time. Julie~I had the book BFL and it is a lot of exercise as Marti said, mostly weight training I believe, and eating a lot of protein. Not something I could have followed, especially the food so threw the book away-I think. It may be in a box somewhere. :dunno: Rosie~glad to see you back from your vac and you survived you visit with your step-mom. Angie~such a cool place for skittles. I took our lil ernie to one once and never did again. Where we go he goes. He didn't like it and was scared the whole time, wouldn't even eat the whole weekend. Jana~everyone is fine. Just didn't have a lot to say yesterday, was in a little bit of a funk from getting up so stinking early. I swear everyone decided to get up at 5 am for some reason and couldn't be quiet. Susan~good luck with the new guy. Hey, what happened to the cable guy? Are you guys still going to remain friends? Hi Jen, Mindee, and everyone else. That's about all I have for now. Take care ladies and see ya soon. |
Hi ladies,
Julie - good luck with the clinical at the hospital. Which dept. are you in at this point of training? Which is your favorite so far? Sue - So glad you're feeling better and are enjoying the small things in life that are so priceless. I won't bore everyone with my exact daily food list, but I will post on a separate thread some things I think are important to succeed. Let me think about it a little while. Marti - have you met these friends before? Hope you have a good time. Buy something fun at the mall. I know what you mean about the pictures! I have to take about 100 before I get one I'd show here, lol. Cristi - wow, you and I are on the same page in life! As you know, I had to get some cleaning done before my friend got here. In the summer especially, I get lazy about the housework with Katie and Neal around. But holy cow! I didn't realize how bad it had gotten since things looked fairly decent on the surface. I never want to get as anal about cleaning as I was before, but there has to be a happy medium, lol. So I too have promised myself to do better with it. I am even in a better mood when things look nice. Btw, you mentioned you may have found your quilt... YAY....can you show a photo? Barb is at the hospital visiting her mom, and will be out here later on. Tomorrow we're going to a near-by Amish restaurant for lunch. There is a craft flea market on the site, also, with some real nice things, so I'm looking forward to that. Not much else is new..... BBL, |
Hello ladies…..how are you all doing?
Brandon went for his two month check up today. He weighs 14lbs. 12 ˝ ounces and is 24 ˝ inches long. His head and chest circumference is 16 inches. He got four shots, two in each leg. The doctor did give us the go ahead to up his bottles to 6oz. (which they have been for a month now), and also for cereal (since Thursday) and now solids! We were also told that our “community blue” insurance through his work isn’t community blue. Instead it is a Trust/Plus PPO, so Tommy has to talk to his work about it. Tommy also got a call from Kelly from his work today. He has to go in tomorrow at 9am to give what we think will be his side of the story and then we will know more after that. Jana~ Thanks for the good luck!! Sue~ I will have to try him on the bananas. We were given the go ahead on the solids so we will be trying them with him soon! Marti~ Sounds like you and James are hitting the town since he is off! Cristi~ how are you doing girl?? |
darn, darn, darn........... I lost my post. I clicked the X and puff..........
Sue- Happy you are feeling better. Mindee- Your Brandon sounds like a sweety- makes me want another baby!! Angie- You looked great when I met you !! BFL exhausted me though just reading the book. I do think one needs the weight training thing for toning......BFL seems good for that. CG?? I posted his last email. He just left. I sure do charm the guys don't I??? lol....... Tom is a computer designer. He is under a lot of stress, does the stock market in the mornings before work........how he relaxes, I guess........geesh....lol......... better get......working on the newsletter. wearing a nifty ring that Rachel made from beads...so pretty. ttfn :) |
susan~ he is a cuddle bug, and I think that is why we got bit with the baby bug. But for now we are getting all the cuddling in while we can.
|
waaaaaaa
I want to cuddle!! I always wanted a little boy! Haven't I Angie?? I snuggle with Gaby. She is my bed buddy....some day though I am going to have to let her go.....she keeps me warm and I love listening to her breathe in the middle of the night. Her head though is like a bowling ball.....lol |
Hello again ladies--
Cristi--I've been looking at my house and I really want to organize my closets!! I've been using them as storage and I would rather not. I still want to fix my closet in the office room and put some kind of desk in there for a scrapbooking/crafts area. Who knows when I'll ever accomplish that! Today I'm thinking of cleaning out the closet in my room!! Now that is a scary site if I ever saw one! It's a small walk in ....but it's so crammed in you can't even think to walk in it!! Hope you get all the "me" time you can get before it's time to clean house again! Jana--I have met these friends of James. They were old Sony employees. James and I managed to keep a lot of friends from Sony...unlike the job at Foster Farms. We just did so much more with them. We used to get together and have breakfast after work (we worked the night shift) or lunch (when our night shift switched to days----always changing!) and one of the employees who lives by the coast would have an annual seasonal BBQ (had BBQ in a year for each season!) <--he still has those and one is coming up! and then at times to just get together to enjoy the night. So it's always nice to keep in contact with friends who still want to hang out like that. I truly miss working for Sony...very easy to work, didn't mind the hours and I REALLY enjoyed knowing I had 4days off!! Mindee--I always smile when I read your post about Brandon. Getting all the info on his check ups and stuff. I did that until she was about 8months old and then she just grew so fast that I just couldn't remember! I get times when I think about wanting a baby and then that goes away.....hope that doesn't sound terrible...but I'm at the age where I'm happy with having a 10yr. old!! And looking forward to all the things she'll go through as she gets older. When I need a baby fix I go to my sisters (whose expecting her second baby in Jan.) That cures me! (I can't keep up...I tire too easily!) Susan--I read the last e-mail you got from CG...but didn't realize that was the last time you heard from him. Don't worry....when it's meant to be...it's meant to be. I remember talking to my grandma when I was having issues with my ex...I would always tell her that I just wish things would get better or that someone who was really meant for me would hurry and find me. (interesting saying that when you're married isn't it?) And my grandma always told me, that my time and gods time are very different. When I want something now....Gods time is when he knows I'm ready....and so I tried to be patient, tried to get the marriage to work (which didn't happen ) then during the worst time in my marriage...James appeared. And I had known him for at least a year before I realized he was for me. Ok...don't know why I went into all that but I just wanted to let you know there is that special man out there. Have you met this Tom guy yet? How did it go? Hello to the rest of you girls out there! James and I are not leaving until later in the evening to go visit his friend and his wife. It's been awhile since we've seen them...I think the last time I seen them was at our wedding reception in April.....I just put a photo in the beautiful frame they gave us as a gift...they had our names and the date of our wedding engraved onto it!! Love it! Was my favorite gift! As of what I"m doing right now...I'm trying to talk James into playing around with the way our living room looks....do a little rearranging...he's not into it!! So I may have to wait until he's gone! ;) I just want to see what it would look like, not necessarily keep it that way. How is everyone elses day going??? I'm off to clean a closet! :D Chat with you more later. |
Susan~ We used to have Brandon sleep in bed with me mostly, but then we had to break him of it because he was constantly wanting to sleep in our bed or on us as oppose to his bassinet.
Angie~ I know what you mean. For the longest time before Brandon came into our lives, I used to want to be around our nieces and nephews to get the baby fix. Now I can get the baby fix any time I want to. I don't have to remember the weights and what not. The doctor's office writes it down for me and gives me it for his baby book. |
HIYA! No, I did not get lost. I've been so busy, I haven't even turned on my computer in since last Thursday, I think. I've actually got real email to read, not just spam! What's a girl to do?!
I've pretty much completely lost my appetite. Not sure if it's stress or my new migraine med. Either way, I'm not at all able to eat in the morning, I take a few bites of lunch and I'm full, and dinner is usually something small. Snacking is almost non-existant. And I'm frequently nauseated. Must be the med. I did lose another 3 lbs, I think. I forget what exactly the last weight was I posted. Hmmm, better start keeping track better. Anyway, if this is the med, I'm hoping it'll pass some once my body gets used to it a little bit. It is a nice boost thought! Went to the Godsmack/Metallica concert Sunday night. It was really good. Can't say I've been to a concert that lasted that long. Godsmack was on for an hour, Metallica for 2 1/2. My ears are still ringing! Well worth the money. Work has been crazy. My boss is working herself into a tizzy. I think it's because her parents are coming to town sometime next month. She is a nut to begin with, but now she's starting to pick at everything insignificant. She picks at all of the little details, but doesn't pay attention to the things that matter. Sometimes I wonder... Well, I wish I had time to catch up on individuals tonight, but really don't. Maybe tomorrow. Jen |
hmmm, I am going to sleep with Gabster til she kicks me out...lol.
omg- I am going for dinner. I need to get me a new office chair, this one is killing my butt! What is that called ??? where your keyboard and office furniture have to meet certain code things?? I am going to file for workmans comp.....file it under sore butt....... I don't know how long you have been with James ,Marti but the dating world in 2004 is brutal!! lol.......I am always 1 email from being dumped. lol But, ya. That was the last of CG......personally I try to see the positive but basically think he turned into a jerk......some basic manners would have been nice. Tom is too busy playing with his stock market.I haven't met him but really don't feel we have enough in common to even have a freindship. I am willing to meet him though and smile and flutter my eyelashes......lol..... Welcome back Jen :) best get!! food calls........ |
Hi again ladies--
I was watching the news and they mentioned something about the Old Sony building was bought...so I had to watch and see who bought it and whose moving. Boy did I get surprise....OML bought the old building!! I was so excited. If I get the job, then it would be like going to work to the same place. Of coarse, they won't actually be moving in until a year, but it's the idea that gets me going. For one, the present OML location is right smack in the middle of town (busy) and there is NO parking! You have to park in the street. The old Sony building has a huge parking lot..... And I know the layout of the Sony building. This just too cool. I saw that and I told James...oh I gotta go tell me friends! And he said "Your computer girls?" Anyway...HAD to share my excitment!! |
Hey All
Well I got in from the hospita; earlier than expected tonight,so I figured I would say a quick hello before going to bed!!!!
Jana : Right now I am in the intensive care portion of my clinicals, which is mostly dealing with really ill, chronic people who need ventilators and constant care, I am learning about intubating and also how to do blood gases...Its very hard stuff and alot of numbers, so sometimes, it gets very tiresome after working all day!!! What makes it hard is that because we are a Level I trauma center we have 7 different Icu's in our 15 floor hospital, so sometimes your patients are all over the place...We have a trauma intensive care, a respiratory intensive care, a cardiac intensive care, a neurologic intensive care, and a few others. So theres never a dull moment!!! Marti: Cool picture, it's good to get a sense of who everyone is!! Glad to hear about the building being the same, what a coincidence, hope you get in OML, that would be so cool for you!! Jen: Hooray on the 3lb weight loss, havent seen you in a while, but I know everyone is really busy with their own lives, nevermind the computer!! As far as BFL, for those who responded to my question about it, thanks for the info.... I hadnt heard of that before...but Im not big into weight training so I think that would be hard for me!!!! Oh well, gals nightie night for now, and I'll check in with ya tomorrow Julie |
Hi ladies~
Just a quickie for me. I am totally pooped and ready to hit the hay but waiting for DS to get in from school and V to get home. Can't sleep till everyone is home and tucked in bed so no point in even trying to go to bed at this point. I was sitting in the chair trying to watch a movie and was dozing, then tried to read, so thought I would get on the 'puter-but still dozing. I will do some catching up tomorrow. So have a good night ladies. I forgot to mention a big CONGRAT'S on all those who joined the 'losing' crowd this week! :bravo: I didn't weigh this week for some reason, not sure why-just didn't. Getting a little bummed about it for some reason. Hopefully next WI I will be in for a big surprise, or not! :) Anyway, take care ladies. See ya  |
Just a quicky
Well, girls, I am really sad right now. My work got back to me and they are not going to change their minds. No way , no how. So now I have to stress about getting resumes out and finding a part time job for good now. No reconsidering for this piece of crap company. Well, I hope they have a good time with one less person and no one to cover me when I leave. Now, I am more stressed out than ever. I was holding out some hope, ya know. No even that little bit is dashed. I think I may be sick. ugggghh :(
Hey marti, need some help rearranging, cleaning or decorating. I need to do something to take my mind off my crappy life right now. :^: I know it is bad, but right now I would just really like to have a huge drink and forget everything for a day or two. Anywho, I just wanted to check in with you all, I just don't feel like individuals right now, but I am thinking of you all. Hope all you wonderful gals have a great day on wednsday and for the rest of the week. Not a day goes by that I don't think of you all and wonder how you are doing. Congrats on everyones weight loss progress, you are all an inspiration to everyone else that is struggling. Ta ta for now |
It's 3:30 AM and I can't sleep... :( so...
Happy Wednesday to you all! Might as well smile and git jiggy wid it, right??? :D Mindee - good luck to Tommy today.:crossed: Once he explains his side of things, maybe it will all turn out ok. (((Hugs for you))) Glad the shots are over for Brandon for awhile. Does he know he has a whole bunch of new cyber-Aunties? Susan - about CG, give him the benefit of the doubt until you know what happened. Back in the day, I had a date with a guy who didn't show. I was embarrassed and it really shook what little confidence I had. A mutual friend told me later that he was in a wreck that day and in traction in Indy! He still turned out to be a jerk, but at least he had an excuse to stand me up. About jewelry from kids... when DS was about 9 y/o, he gave me an adjustable ring for Mother's Day, and of course I ohhed and ahhed over it. He said "I coulda got you the bracelet instead, but gosh, it was a whole dollar!" I wore that ring until it broke. Marti - once again, love your photo!! Did you and James get the living room rearranged? I like to do that, too, once in awhile just to have a new view, lol. Hope you get the job, and that it's in the old Sony building! Jen!! Norm!!!! - (inside joke, right?) Yay for the 3 pounds down!! That's a hard way to lose it, but you'll take it, right, lol. Is the new med helping the headaches? Sounds like you need to give your boss a chill pill! Julie - sounds very intense right now at clinicals... if you can get through this, you can do anything! I'm pulling for ya! Cristi - I know just how you feel when everyone is home and tucked in. Several Christmases ago, DS spent Christmas Eve night with us, even though he had his own apartment. Well, with all 3 of my little chicks safely home and tucked in, I slept like a baby! That's one of the most comforting feelings a mom can have, imo. Shanna - so sorry about the company's decision. It's their loss, hon! Things have a way of working out - remember that, ok? Glad you added your name in your siggy! It looks nice. Angie - are you packing yet? Hi to RosieKate, Sue, and anyone I may have left out. Barb and I are having breakfast today instead of lunch today. Her mom is coming home from the hospital, and then she's heading back to Florida. I sure have enjoyed her visit. Gonna go try to get some more sleep... BBL, |
A very early good morning ladies~
How funny Jana, I couldn't sleep either-been up since a little before 4. But I am going back to bed in just a few minutes and hopefully I can get back to sleep, otherwise I am going to be a bear today! Shanna~well, phooey on that company, it's their loss. I thought for sure they would come through. Just look at it this way, it wasn't meant to be and there is something better for ya around the corner. I know that probably doesn't help now but I know you will find something-just keep the faith. Will do individuals later and yes Jana, I can post a picture of the quilt. Just ordered it yesterday but it won't be shopped till Sept. 12-bummer. I guess I can wait. BBL |
Morning Sunshines!! :sunny:
(ok, it's raining here, but I thought I'd bring some sun back to Oregon!) Jen--Sounds like you have a stressful situation with the boss.....tell her to leave her problems at home! Hope you enjoyed your concert, wish I could've been there with ya!! Susan--I've been with James since '98. And I have told James that I would hate to be in the dating scene.....I think I would be either too desperate or too picky. If you're not exactly sure what happened, why don't you e-mail him? Who knows what happened to the guy...maybe something with his kids? Julie--Sounded like you had a busy night even though you did get home early. As for the picture, I like being able to see a face with the name too....always nice to know who I"m yappin to! Shanna--Sorry that they said no to you. We'll keep our fingers crossed that something better will come your way! Jana--Nope, didn't get the house rearranged.....I would have had to move James around in the couch too! I pretty much didn't get anything done yesterday! No wonder my butt is getting quishy! Cristi--I can't believe you and Jana were both up so early!! I had just gotten to bed when Jana posted....and been asleep for an hour when you posted!! Hope you can get some sleep and rest up. Sounds like you've been having problems sleeping lately....(or was that someone else?) Morning to the rest of you girls! James & I went to his/our friends last night, stayed for a few hours..then headed home. We had a nice visit, catching up, talking about jobs and people. Today, James wants to spend the whole day lounging. Ok....that's going to drive me crazy! So he can lounge and I'm going to get some stuff done around the house! Like my closet!! :D I'll check in later on! |
Happy Hump Day to the Jaded Ladies.
It is cloudy and gray here this morning, but no rain yet. I am getting ready to do some sewing. Just thought I would check in here first. Finished up Mom's room for her visit. Now you all have me wanting to do some re-arranging. I will wait until after Mom goes home and then try to get a few things spruced up before we go for the winter. I am thinking of removing the wallpaper and just painting the dining room. I want to sell my dining room furniture and put smaller pieces in there. We don't use that room at all so thought if I put in a smaller table we might use it. Would like to get rid of the pool table also and find another use for that room. The whole house needs some updating. My diet has suffered, but I got 2 miles in last night then had to run the last half block home as it was lightening. See ya later......Sue |
I'm Baaaaccck!
Well, I actually did get back to sleep and got in a couple of hours before getting up and heading to wally world. Glad that is done with. DH and I are headed to the movie when he gets off work. Not sure what we will see yet. It is a toss-up between, The Notebook, The Door In the Floor, Collateral or Manchurian (sp?) Candidate-not sure yet what I am in the mood for. Then heading over to Sears to get DS#2 a tool belt so he can feel all macho! Men and their tool belts! Actually, he needs one for work.
Jana~here's the link to the quilt I ordered yesterday. I just hope I like it when I finally get it. It looks nice in the catalog and is what I was looking for sort of. It doesn't have the navy in it like my old one but it matches the paint, border and stuff in my bedroom. Anyway, http://www.countrydoor.com/shopping/...eyword=NN53161 Hey, there is an Amish town here that has a restaurant and Antique Store. I haven't been yet but heard the food is good. We pass through it going to the fair. Last year I tried to take a picture of this woman and her son riding in the buggy down the street. I think it is so cool to see that, just knowing how they live and such. Mindee~my kids never liked cereal-none of them. They wouldn't eat it and since they were so big it wasn't a problem not feeding it to them. I can't remember at what age I did start feeding them babyfood, think 6 months. They liked the jar stuff but not the cereal. Hope everything went will with Brandons check up. Angie~geez, woman, where do you find the time? I know I say I am bored quit a bit but sometimes I am so busy I just want to sit and don't do near as mch as you do. You must have 36 hours in your days! Susan~I too saw the last email from the cable guy but thought I missed something as I didn't really see anything wrong with it. :dunno: Doesn't sound like you and this guy have much in common but hey you never know. And opposites do attract! Me and my first DH were totally opposite from one another, not to mention he was 11 years older and we got along perfect! I liked that we didn't have so much in common because everyday was a new day. What got me was his sense of humor and his crooked sexy smile. So you never know, stranger things have happened. Marti~how funny that OML bought the Sony building-maybe it is a good sign. :crossed: Moving was good for me in getting things organized. Everything was a mess at our other house. So when we moved I really went through things and now everything is organized, for now anyway! Funny you mentioned talking about dating now. Me and 1st DH were talking about that once back in '90-'91 and I remember telling him "I am so glad that I am not out there dating, it would be awful!" And a few months later he was killed! Of course once again, I couldn't imagine being out there now dating. Things are so different, and the stories I have heard...of course it wasn't that long ago when I was dating and I grew very tired of it. Anyway, now it wasn't me having trouble sleeping-just today, not sure who it was. Jen~glad you guys had a wonderful time at the concert. I wish I would lose my appetite! Congrat's on the 3 lbs. Sue~sorry ti hear about the diet being off. At least you are getting your walking in, that is a plus and has to be helping. Hope you enjoy your visit with your mom. Hi to everyone else. TTFN |
Jana~I tried that link and it's not working for me but if you put in NN53161 in keyword it will take you to the quilt-I think!
|
Hi Ladies- I am so happy I've found you! :spin: I was so unhappy after my experience at the "other" message board- you've made me feel very welcome! Thank You! Reading thru everybody's posts, you all sound terrific. Shanna, your post jumped out at me, because I just went back to work after 2 months of unemployment. I don't want to patronize you, but just know that it does work out. I was fired from a company I was with for 15 years and was devastated. It's hard to sell yourself to a prospective employer when you feel worthless. Luckily, someone thought I wasn't and I now realize I'm not. Hang in there- I hope I can help.
Thanks for the laugh whoever said "Happy Hump Day"- I'm 40 years old and that still cracks me up. Releasing my inner 12 yr old, I guess! Good diet day-but having some trouble with getting my butt in gear to go to Curves. Honest, will really try when I bring my daughter, Meg, to work! Went and did a little school shopping- it's better in short spurts with Meg. We get on each others nerves in a retail environment- will finish up on Sunday. That's about it from sunny CT...enjoy the rest of your "Hump Day"! (Tee-Hee  ) |
Hello again ladies--
Cristi--I looked at the quilt you ordered...it's beautiful. I really want to fix up my bedroom. I would like to get rid of the "storage" junk in my closet, put up some shelves and get rid of the dressers we have in our room. They take up so much space. I would like to give Jhanai the up right dresser and get rid of the other one. Makes me stand back and look at all the time I had this last year and how I haven't really done anything to my house! Time to change my ways! Finally got a lock for my shed grandpa made us and now I have no excuse to fill it! Barb--Welcome to the chit chat!! Glad to have you aboard. When does school start in CT? School here starts the 9th of Sept.....going to take my dd Jhanai shopping this weekend. She wants to go to Old Navy. I prepared my DH, James with the knowledge that I'm going shopping this weekend so prepare for some money missing in the checking account!! :D We have a friend over right now...he's visiting James and so I thought I would sneak onto the computer and check in. James and I may go to Eugene later and buy a Cuckoo Clock...we've been checking out this clock place for a couple years and been eye balling the Cuckoo's for some time....they're on sale right now so we may go get one. The one we have right now is his grandfathers...so it's old, but it still works! We just would like to have another one.....we both really love clocks , but I believe that is one of James' favorite things.....Especially the Grandfather Clocks. Ok...I'm rambling along. I will check in again later! |
There wasn't anything wrong with his last email Cristi. The only thing is that was his last email! lol I checked to make sure he wasn't dead or in an accident by seeing that he logged into the site where we met just yesterday.
So, I will say he has bad manners. I certainly do think I deserved a "nice to meet you but......." email. Nothing wrong with being picky Marti. Some people call it knowing what they want. lol Anywho.........welcome Barb!! I hope you like it here and it is great that there is another 40 year old on board! Finishing up my newsletter. Had some yummy soup for lunch. Best get! |
Good Evening Gals!!!
Well, hope everyone had a great day today... I had somewhat of BAD DAY AT WORK!!! This older woman I work with is constantly creating waves amongst the department, instead of going to our boss when she has a question on something, she goes one by one to each of us disturbing our work.. Anyway she has a habit of asking the same question a million times in different ways...Yesterday she had asked me the same question 3 times before I left for the day, this morning she asked me 5 times between 7-10am, finally the last time she asked, I said dont argue with my answer, if you dont like what Im saying then go ask our boss!!!!!I mean thats ridiculous, it's one thing to ask someone how to handle something, but then to turn around and argue over the answer is another thing.....anyway she got mad at me cause our boss heard her making a stink, and told her from now on when she has a question she needs to go see her, not bother her co-workers....So she then came over to me and said "How dare you get snippy with me", I said I wasnt snippy with you, I asked you to go talk to our boss instead of arguing with me over it.. I was so aggravated, she acted like it was my fault she got in trouble,,,if she had handled it right in the first place, she wouldnt have created such a stink where the boss could here her!!!
Anyway, JANA glad to hear you had a nice visit with your friend!!! MARTI, glad to see you and James are spending much needed quality time together!!! WELCOME BARB!!!!! and SHANNA sorry to hear about the whole job thing, but hang in it will work out....you'll see!!! Well good night to all, and I'll stop in tomorrow!!!! Julie :^: |
Good evening! Today ended on a better note. It didn't start out quite that way though. But at least I feel better now. nm, dc vj zxhbnm,b gf (Jolie Sue says "Hi") I followed up with a few clients just before I left, and they were all pleasant conversations. Reminds me why I do what I do. Then my dbf sent my a cute email that made me laugh. I'm sure it helped that I stayed out of the office most of the day, running visits. Stayed away from the crazy boss!
Julie - What is it with people? Why can't they just get over themselves? At least your boss handled it the right way and backed you up. Do you ever think this chic will get the hint? Marti - Cuckoo clocks? I think all that racket would drive me crazy. Yeah, this coming from someone with all those animals. Hope you find what you are looking for. Barb - Welcome to the group! Glad you joined us. Some of the schools started the first part of August, the rest this week. Can't say for sure though, I don't have any kids! How would I know? I do miss school shopping. That was always so much fun. Cristi - I really don't like going to the movies that much. It's always so cold. I can't stand to hear the people talking and chomping on their popcorn like they haven't eaten for a month. I would much rather wait and rent the movie in the comfort of my own living room. But honestly, I don't think I've seen too many that I'm interested in seeing. Sue - When is your mom coming? My mom is supposed to be in about a month but won't tell anyone when exactly. Guess I can't take any time off of work if I don't know when. Maybe I'll just take a vacation when your mom is visiting you! Jana - You are too funny. I needed that! I am happy to say, it has rained the last 3 days, well, I'm not happy about that, but I haven't had any headaches. So maybe the meds are starting to take effect. Yes, I will take the loss anyway I can get it. I could tell that my work slacks were a little looser. I've lost almost 1/2 of what my "Labor Day Goal" was. Well, I should go do something a little productive, perhaps. Jen |
Susan~gotcha...I too always believed in common courtesy and felt something should be said instead of just leaving things as they are. I actually had a guy tell me he didn't owe me anything. I said you are right but there is such a thing as common courtesy.
Marti~I wanting to redo my room eventually, the furniture. I have always wanted to fill my house with antiques and I want to start with the bedroom. We have a clock on the wall that goes tick tock all day long and rings on the hour. At first it was a little annoying but over the years I have gotten used to it. My mom and grandma always had a cuckoo clock and I love those things also. And grandfather clocks...to die for. Jen~I enjoy going to the show but I too don't care to hear people chomping on their popcorn. You are right in that they act like they haven't eaten in a while! :lo: I don't even like to hear myself eat much less someone else. And me and DD are talkers, but when the movie starts our mouths are zipped. It usually only annoys me if someone is constantly talking and not watching the movie at all. Julie~sorry to hear you had a bad day at work. Maybe tomorrow will be a better one for you since the boss got onto her. Sue~for some reason I thought I had read your mom was there already! When does she arrive? Barb~WELCOME once again! Glad to see you found your way over to the Chit Chat thread. The schools here already started. SOme last week and the rest this week. Not sure why they don't start at the same time. :dunno: Well, ladies we decided on seeing The Door in the Floor and I rate it about a 3 (out of 5). It wasn't bad but it wasn't the greatest either. I think it was more funny than serious, which I don't know if it was supposed to be. Anyway, I would save the bucks and see it on video for sure. Again, not that it was bad, otherwise I would have walked out. Then we went to dinner, nothing fancy just IHOP. Haven't been there in a while. DS and DH went to Lowes for a few minutes to get a tool belt so I thought I would jump on real quick. And I best be cutting this short. Have a good evening all! |
Hiya ladies!
Cristi - I love the quilt! Will you be using a white dust ruffle like the photo shows? Marti - so did you end up getting much done today? When does James go back to work? It is me that has trouble sleeping. When I wake up to potty, (as we older ones do.. :o ) sometime I can't go back to sleep. And then sometimes Mr. SnoresAlot wakes me up, too. Sue - yep, it's good to have some changes in the house. Especially when you spend a lot of time in it like we do, lol. Glad you're getting the walks in! Barb - glad you made it! I think you'll like it here. Our school started here Aug. 17th. My baby, who's 17, is a Senior this year! Susan - yep, the CG is just flat out rude! Especially for someone who came across as so religious, you know? That just makes it worse. But, hey, it's his loss! Julie - like somebody else said, at least your boss backed you up. Seems like every job has a pain-in-the-patooty person like that! Jen - hey, glad I could make you smile, lol. I never ever go to the movies on the weekend! My favorite time is Tuesday around 3 or 4 PM. They don't start any earlier than that now that school is in session. Once, there were 6 people total in the theater, and these 2 women came in and sat down in the row directly in front of us!! So we moved... but can you imagine?? Angie - where are you?? Hope the hookers and pervs aren't holding you for ransom somewhere, lol. You're getting down to the wire for bon voyage! Hi to the other JLs! Well, I am about to pull my hair out (L'Oreal 5a - Medium Ash Brown, lol) waiting for the plumber to come and fix my water softener. He was supposed to be here yesterday, then today, and now they say sometime tomorrow morning for sure (yeah, right!). I tried to just get a different company to do the repair, but they don't work on others' models! If I ever have to get a new one, it will be a Culligan, so there are repair guys out the wahzoo! Other than that, my day has been a good one! I even worked in a little nap. See you in the morning... |
no pervs or hookers holding me up...just a bunch of padded down pip squeaks....oooooh we are so giving Barb crazy thoughts on us...lol
First off, Welcome Barb! Julie, I get in such moods and would have loved to have messed with your co workers mind...lol I would say you handled it well, and mature. Unlike how I would have...ha ha ha Susan,,,one day when you least expect it you will meet Mr Right,,,sorry its not Mr. Right NOW....lol Cristi, I have been wanting to see Notebook and Manchurian...and Borne Supremcy Your quilt looks fantastic. Hmmm hours in the day...*sigh I do know Im tired and am looking forward to the end of 65 hours when we leave...lol ya Im counting down. I worked this morning, did a load of laundry before leaving, went and got my legs waxed...holy #^%$&#$%^ that hurt since I did have a bit of a sunburn, which I forgot until she had the HOT wax on it...I was literally doing the labour breathing...lol knew I should of done a couple of shots of tequilla first...lol Then came home did another load of laundry, took Tan to buy football gloves...again Holdy $#%^@#$ 50 bucks batman! Got a pita for dinner,,,went to a dollar store and bought a bunch of pencils and notebooks for our trip. Needed moleskin for Tan's blister,,,so off to Walmart. HE played his game tonight,,,did awesome,,,thing is,,,it hasn't stopped raining here in days...so I had to run to Walmart again for an umbrella, and needed gas,,,blah blah dropped him off after the game,,,changed clothes since I was soaked, and went and tried to serve legal docs....nope didn't work. So now Im doing some back ground checking on how I can get to this person. I have tomorrow off, so I plan to clean bathrooms, grocery shop, and pack,,,plus have a ped and manicure appointment,,,Brandon (my lil white chicken breast) has a tanning appointment,,,well so do I but Im sunburned. Then somewhere in there we still have football, and I have to again try serving them legal docs...*sigh Thank goodness for canned soup and sesame snaps...lol And of course COFFEE...lol Oh ya, BFL, is a 12 week program where you try to eat 3 meals and 3 snacks a day. You ulternate between cardio and weight days,,,cardio being 20 min of high intensity, and 45 minutes of lower or upper body weight. Check it out www.bodyforlife.com Well Im going to go and do my 1/2 hour of my addiction,,,solitaire...lol night all Angie |
Got another 2 miles in tonight, but boy am I having trouble with the eating. What do you guys do when nothing satisfies you and you just eat all day? It is getting to be a bad habit here. I have to find a way to stop it that's for sure.
I did sewing today and finished cleaning. Planned to start an exercise tape, but didn't get to it. Funny how many excuses I can come up with. I made brownies, cube steak and mashed taters for dinner. Not a good idea for me, but DH gets tired of not getting a good hot meal. It is hard to be good to him and eat like I need/want to. I think it is hard to cook for just 2. Cristi Love the quilt. I bookmarked that site. Looks interesting. Mom comes Sat. for 2 weeks. Jana Hope the plumber got there and your hair is still intact. Marti Did you get a clock? We don't have a cuckoo or a grandfather clock. DH has looked at plans for building a grandfather clock, might be a good project for him. Barb Welcome, and pleased to meetcha. I don't have any little ones at home and I miss the back to school shopping. I even called both DDs and inquired about the shopping for the grandkids. Living vicariously through them I guess. My baby boy (24) was bad to have for a last child...he never asked for clothes or anything special. I had to drag him kicking and screaming to shop for back to school. (or just buy things and bring them home) Jen Funny about your Mom. At least Mom has to tell me when she is coming or she wouldn't have anyone pick her up at the airport. She is coming Sat. for 2 weeks, so you can take your days off. ;) Hope everyone else had a nice day. Hi to all Jaded Ladies. Sue |
Angie- You posted while I was doing my slow typing. I just wanted to say that my son and step-son have their own busines in CA as legal process servers. Thought of that when you said you were serving docs. My baby boy is starting his second year of law school next week. Step-son helps keep the business on track while son is busy with school and is talking of being a PI for the business eventually. So far so good, and it can only get better once son is a lawyer.
Have a nice night and get some rest...you deserve it. Sue |
Good morning Ladies,
Angie - glad to see you checking in. Isn't it awful all the things we have to do before vacation? I've got a list as long as my arm, lol. What the heck are sesame snaps?? Sue - if nothing you eat satisfies your hunger, it isn't hunger, imo. It is boredom or something else. When that happens to me, I drink more water adn try to find something interesting to do. Like come here, because it distracts me. Good luck! Well, the plumber is here and yes, I do still have all my hair, but just barely. I hate to see the bill when he's done. It's raining here, but we needed it. I plan to rest and be lazy today.... maybe read and watch movies. BBL, |
Good Afternoon Girls!!
Well thank you all for your support on the work matter!!! Lets just say she's not a happy camper today, but oh well we dont always get our way now do we??? I guess after I left yesterday she got spoken to again about the crap she caused and you can tell shes got a burnt ego today>>>>OH WELL!!!!
And yes thankfully my supervisor handled it right away...... Anyway I am on my lunch hour and getting ready to go for my 3 mile walk, I have clinical tonight at the hospital, so not sure if I'll make it into chat or not, But I'll try to post a little something later!!!! Have a great day!!!! Julie |
Morning ladies~
Jana~not sure what I will use for a bedskirt. I had one that matched my quilt but threw it away when I went and bought a bedspread. Didn't like the bedspread at all so took it back and ended up buying a cream colored bedskirt. So hopefully this one matches, if not I will get a white one. Can't always tell the true colors of something in the catalog. Glad you still have your hair and the plumber got there. Sue~I have to agree with Jana about it possibly being boredom. I have had days like that and just try to find something to keep me busy, like reading. I get into a good book and don't want to do anything but read! Yeah, there's some stuff I really like in that catalog too! Funny, I have looked at so many places and catalogs looking for a quilt and the other day I get this catalog in the mail. It had a sticker on it that said this is your last catalog-ummm, it was also my first! I just received a Country Curtains catalog yesterday and there is a quilt in there that I swear is the same one-I will look at it closer but it looks the same, but for twice the price! Angie~geez woman, you make me tired from reading your posts! You definitely need a break and Cuba will be perfect for you to relax! Be sure and take lots of photos. I forgot about the cardio in BFL but remembered the meals and the protein drinks/shakes. Just seemed like to much for me-kudos to anyone and everyone who does that and sticks with it! Julie~well, hopefully the co-worker gets over it and moves on. She shouldn't have been carrying on that way to have gotten into trouble to begin with. Well, got my house stuff done this morning before getting on the computer and now have thw rest of the day to do whatever. DS#1 is taking me out to lunch, not sure where. He just said be ready at 11:30, of course I was ready earlier. His work schedule has been crazy because he is short handed and to top it off he started school last Thursday and goes from 5:45-9:45 two nights and then 7:05-9:45, just not sure how long he can do that unless he gets some help at work. He won't have time to do his homework. I just hope it doesn't take four years to get his Bachelors like it took him four years to get his Associates. But he did take a break there so, it actually only took 2 1/2. Anyway...now to get the other two in college! I have faith and that's all that matters. Other than that not much else going on. Hope everyone has a great day! See ya later  |
Hello ladies--
Susan--I understand now....you definately deserved some kind of something instead of leaving you hanging. How is this Tom guy doing? Have you met him and gotten to know him yet? Julie--I'm glad that your boss overheard what was being said. There seems to always be one co-worker at every job that is hard to work with. At sony....we had plenty! Jen--We didn't go up to Eugene and get the clock...we decided to just enjoy the evening and make dinner together and relax. Of coarse today James was wishing we went! I told him that we have plenty of time to get one. Cristi--I love grandfather clocks...I just don't know where in my house we would put one! I want a bookshelf on one of the walls that is available! :) Last summer James got a shell of the grandfather clock my grandpa made 30yrs ago...we were going to refinish it and put the works in...but then notice that it doesn't stand upright....it leans. (It had been out in a shed for many years before we got it out) So right now, it's just taking up space in my office room. Jana--Ah...so it was you who can't sleep. Hope you got better sleep last night. James left today, he got a call from one of the managers saying that by next week he may get to work in Eugene...that made him happy....he'd get to come home everyday! But right now, he's on his way back up to Portland. Angie--Nothing like working your butt off just before a vacation!! I sure hope you get to relax at least a day before you go! Nothing like being stressed right at the last minute! You will post pictures once you get back wont' you? I want to live vicariously through the photos of your vacation in Cuba and pretend I went too! :D Sue--I'm in agreement with the girls. Boredom played a HUGE part in my weight not budging for the longest time. I have now started using my WW cookbooks...pretending I'm some expert cook! Grabbed my scrapbooking stuff again and found books that truly hold my interest. Anything to keep my mind off of mindless snacking! And I finally seen a drop on the scale. Hello to the rest of you girls out there!! Hope you're enjoying Thursday!! Well as I mentioned, James left for Portland. Then around 5:00 I will be leaving to go get Jhanai. I'm keeping her until Monday. We plan on going back to school shopping. Got to get the supplies and clothes! I love the fact that she is now wanting a certain style instead of having her grab a shirt and pants that don't quite go together...at least IMO!! She's very excited to be in the 5th grade this year. Can't believe next year she'll be in Middle School. Where did the time go???? Ok...I'm going to browse around then get ready to go. Not sure if I'll make it to chat, but I will try! |
