Well, like others I am reading, this weekend was a total bust. We set out to go camping on Friday right after work. We stopped at McDonald's and I had some chicken selects (probably about 6), :mcd: no sauce,no fries, no soda. We made it to the campground just in time for the downpours. Up most of the night with the kids & dog & the thunder & lightening. Finally got up at 6:30am & packed up & headed home. Had coffee with skim milk & equal, and (are you ready for this one?) munchkins. Lots of them. I was starving!!! Lunch was veggies with dressing (my version of a salad cuz I really do not like lettuce). Dinner I made spaghetti sauce with meatballs & sausage, yummy!! Not on the south beach diet though. :eating2: I also made peanut butter, choco chip bars (yummy).
Sunday morning was french toast (3 peices) with sausage, lunch was a bologna sandwich, and dinner was fish & chips, but I spent the whole day walking the zoo, so I feel a little better about it. But it all tasted soooo good. Today is a new day & a new start. Breakfast: 2 eggs & 2 peices lean turkey bacon, coffee with equal & half & half (only a teaspoon,I measured) Snack: cucumber, and beef jerky Lunch: boiled chicken breast & broccoli, low carb yogurt snack: celery & laughing cow cheese Dinner: ????? maybe I will skip it just to make up for all the extra calories i ate over the weekend. Or some left over sausage & meatballs. |
Hi hblank, weekends are so hard especially when it rains on a camping trip! Plus good times are so associated with all kinds of food treats. I'm going away this weekend and I know it is going to be hard.
Once again I'm logging on at 4pm - my hardest part of the day. We've had a good day. I've resisted most of the snacks that my kids have been eating all day. They never stop so they burn off all the calories. I also had company and offered them some goodies. One thing that's helping is I bought a big supply of seltzers which I drink every time I want to eat, and I have a bowl full of fruit on my table which I can snack on. breakfast (I was going to skip - not a good idea anyway, but I was too hungry ) 2 eggs on English muffin blueberries (340) lunch tuna sandwish on whole wheat bun with lettuce/tomatoe - about 500 snack - granola bar 120 (I was surprised that there weren't that many calories in this but it's satisfaction factor doesn't go very far - seems to make me more hungry) today's total so far 960 hblank I know you can do it. sw210/cw202/gw 150 |
Hi, all -- My sister has decided to join us in this quest for health so my day has been good :) Did Pilates this morning for the first time in months -- the Teaser is back to being impossible but should be do-able again soon once I'm back to regular sessions. Yesterday went well -- no chocolate all day and evening -- but today I had a little fudge and a small chocolate chip cookie as they were on the table at work :| guess I'll have to workout a bit tonight to make up for it. I really feel this time is the one that will stick - thanks to this site and all of you. Thanks - have a great Monday!
|
Chipper, I'd like to hear about Curves. I've heard that it's great exercise. I hope you have a good day.
|
I can do great while I am at work :) But as soon as I am home and get stressed with all of the things that need done then out comes the peanut butter and graham crackers or bagels(4-5) or anything else that I can get my hands on. We went camping this weekend and the chips and hot dogs were my friends since it rained. They are on WW but in moderation and not all weekend. I have been at curves since the end of may and it is great 30 min and you are done I can manage that now.
So far i have learned from this site that i am not alone and everyone has a bad day I just need to brush off and get back on the horse. Thanks |
evening all;
What a day. Did pretty good. Just can't find that happy medium. I don't know if I just don't have a good mind set right now. I really do want it to come off. I want to become a realestate agent. But, feel I can't at my weight. I am so tired of being fat. I want to wear those cute clothes. I sorta want to go back to WW. But, my dm would just shoot me. I have joined so many times. I can't find a leader that I like. At one point I had lost 60+ pounds then the plan change to points and leader left. So, I felt lost and quit. I don't really like the points. Not sure about new program either. Anyway have to find a good mind set. I will talk to you guys later. Chipper |
Chipper, hang in there. It is hard this loosing weight business - it takes time and focus, yet not too much focus. But, you know this better than me. I've never lost any weight, I've just crept up and up, especially in the last 10 years. Lots of life events, lots of work and other things put me where I am. Food has been such a crutch for me - a relaxer, a "drug" of sorts. A couple of things helped me today.
I don't know if you like seltzer, but I love it and I filled my glass with lemon and lime slices and lots and lots of ice - it tasted great! I also bought a lot of little, tiny plums - they are only eight calories a piece - real tasty. Then for dinner I made oven baked fries for the family. I cut up about four potatoes into french fry size. I sprayed the cookie sheet with pam and then sprayed the potatoes with pam and cooked them for 375 for 45 minutes - very tasty, about 100 cals per potatoe (quite a few pieces). I like counting calories because I have a lot of choices which I need with my busy household. Feel free to vent here any time. I hope you'll continue to check in. sw210/cw202/gw150 |
excuse my spelling!

Hello ladies,
Returning member... back again. Thought I would join you. Breakfast: hot tea, half of a chocolate chip cookie (split it with daughter) Lunch: 2 softshell tacos and about 10 potato oles Dinner: hot dog, serving of potato chips, kit kat bar Other: had 2 beers tonight (friend has been babysitting and needed a beer then went home to watch an R rated movie... 4 days with kids is a lot for a childless couple I guess...lol) Comments: Not the best diet today as far as balanced or anything, but I didn't snack (big weakness) an honestly, I haven't tracked the calories, but looking at it, I can't be that far over my goal of 1400 calories... I didn't exercise today besides work (not really strenuous, just standing and active) so that means I "lose" 100 calories... I have to earn that last 100 calories. Well, I hope to be on here a lot now and good luck to all of you! |
hifatmommacat - welcome. You're closing in on your goal. I just read a number of diet articles on the web. The articles emphasized again that it's not a diet, it's a lifestyle. Also, they listed the number one reason for obesity as portion control - that's something I have to work on.
I started today with a smoothie for breakfast: 1 c. plain yogurt (110), 1/4 c. 1% milk (30), frozen pineapple pieces (50), frozen strawberries (30), banana (100) Total 320 then black coffee. Very filling and takes a long time to drink - thick. today's plan (tricky day as I have a lot of errands, kid stuff) lunch - salad (need to stop at the farm stand to get some great tomatoes, cukes) with feta and balsamic vinegar (about 300) dinner - that's hard as I have to bring the kids out due to the conflict of a ball game and drop off time. What's the best food to have out - healthiest??? I've decided on Wendy's - I'll have large chile w/cheese - 330 cals. or grilled chicken sandwich (300) exercise plan - biking with kids to the playground this morning. Thanks for listening - let's see what happens. sw210/cw202/gw150 |
Morning; I am still on my search for a mind set. Today is a bad allergy day. Don't know why. Feeling real bad today. I have decided to take back my granddaughters to babysit again. Will start next week. It should be better this time around. I am praying it will be. I will check back later. Gotta go get some meds.
Chipper |
Tiredoffat, Curves is great if you have the time. I don't know about where you are, but in MA I haven't found one that stays open past 7pm & with my commute, I don't get off the train until 6:45, so I really had a hard time fitting it in. But otherwise, I loved it and it worked.
Well, yesterday was also a bust, stress eating,ugh!!! I need a new job. Let's just say that I indulged in spaghetti & meatballs.......yummy, but man did I feel guilty after. Have vowed that today & forward will be better. Breakfast: coffee with half & half(just a teaspoon), low carb yogurt, and laughing cow low fat cheese Lunch: another serving of boiled chicken & broccolli with garlic & hopefully a long walk as it is soooo nice out by the river here in Boston, and I finished my book. Snack: stringy cheese or V8. Dinner: I am thinking pork something & peas. I will have to look for a new recipe. Hanging in there though! I am glad to see everyone is doing so well. :cb: :dancer: |
Good luck with the allergy - I know it's tough. I hope you can find meds that help out. I fit in a mini bike ride this morning to a playground with the kids - about 20 minutes, but it was some exercise and they were very happy after the little excursion. Now they are busy playing.
Sorry if I check in too often, but everytime I get the urge to be unhealthy I check in to see how everyone is doing. I'm off to do an errand or two and I'm going to fit in the farm stand too for some of those wonderful, very low cal and healthy fresh tomatoes that I love! Take care. |
Well, I started the day well. I had a half cup of orange juice as I was getting ready for work. It is my daughter's last day of summer vacation so lunch was her choice. Taco John's... I had 2 tacos and an order of rice. 680 calories for lunch and 57 for breakfast totaling 737 for the day. I am busy working the rest of the afternoon and we have volleyball tonight which means a couple beers and out for dinner afterwards. So, I have enough calories left to have a nice chicken ceasar salad for dinner. I honestly could do without drinking beers during volleyball tonight as well. (it is a drinking game type of volleyball that we play at a local park on a sand court)
Sounds like many of you are doing pretty good. Keep it up! |
Almost 4pm, my usual need a break and support time of day. I made my plan and then 100 changes happened as usual. Ex - I did the very mini bike ride with kids, then stome stretches in the pool and about 10 min of ex including sit ups (first time in about 25 years can you believe it!)
lunch - grilled chicken, turkey bacon, lettuce and tomato roll up no mayo, very tasty and filling (about 700 - a lot!) Total to date 1140 I believe - quite a bit. Dinner Plan - grilled veggie salad and fresh ear of corn (400) That's it for the day though - wow those calories add up |
So far so good today. I am skipping my afternoon snack because I couldn't pass up the frozen yogurt at lunch(fat free though) and my calories are still only at 738, so I am doing good. Has anyone here tried using the website www.fitday.com ? It will count your calories for you & figure out your calories burned while exercising, while allowing you to journal your food and set your goals. My nutritionist thought it was great when I told her about it & has started recommending it to patients too.
I have to go to school tonight, so who knows what dinner will bring. |
hblank - thanks for the web site reference I'll check it out. I know a friend who always treated herself once in a while to low fat yogurt - she was always successful at loosing weight probably because she allotted the calories for it.
I had a tough night. I made a gross meal and ate too much - wasted calories. I didn't go past 2,000 but now I'm trying to stick to 1500 as I seem to be a little less hungry then when I started. The problems tonight - too much rushing, too many unknowns so that our schedule kept changing, no real sweaty good workout exercise (me and the kids all day with lots of kid events - no mom breaks!) The good news is I bypassed chips, Dairy Queen ice cream. When I was stressed out I od'd on seltzer and sugarless gum - that helped! Thanks for keeping in touch everyone. It is such inspiration. After writing tonight, I'll call it a day - no more eating! I'll think about the goal. We can do it! |
Morning all: Yes, we can do it. I am slowly finding mind set. I have been doing lots of checking on the new WW core program. I started that today. BK this morning is a smoothie, made with yogurt and sf tang. and a banana. Don't know about lunch yet. I can't plan to far in advance. I am going to try this for a week and see what happens. If I can do a week then we shall see what happens for the next week. Feeling better today. Doing curves this afternoon. I like to get it done in the morning, but, wait until DD gets off work and we go together. Yea, I really enjoy it. Have been going for over a year now. They weigh and measure you every month. There was no change from the first join to my year mark. But, then I was only trying off and on. Had about a 3 month period where I didn't go at all. But, I went back. I will have been on this new plan a week when it is time for w/m again. I am excited to see what it shows. You can work at your own pace. Which is what I like. I am going to try to push it today. Well, outa here for now. Be back later.

Chipper - thanks for the Curves info. I'll keep it in mind.
All the boys (3) are home today. They expect so much and want to do so little. We're taking off for a last hurrah weekend and going north to the upper reaches of Vermont (Canadian border) for a three day exploration trip - hiking, kayaking, a country fair, etc. Then the crazy, busy school year starts when I'll need all the support I can get. When 24 10 years olds need you all at once the chocolate cake and goodies in the teachers' room look very comforting. Last year I put on at least 20 pounds. Then when I get home to the needs of my three - all the goodies look good. So today I'm cleaning. I cleaned out all the kitchen cabinets, and I'm going shopping to fill them with healthy snacks and foods for cooking. I figure if the healthy stuff is there that's what I'll have. breakfast - cereal/milk (190 (not that satisfying - crummy cereal) snack - sesame sticks (not nutritious, I'm not buying those again) with health pb (290) another snack - fruit salad (100) total so far 580. Today I may just eat a little every few hours since that's the kind of day it will be. I'm really trying to stick to 1500 now. exercise plan - probably lots and lots of housework - I'll put on Carol King and try to make it ambitious (maybe work up a sweat!). |
Me again - sorry! It's just that this thread is one of my 3fatchick lifesavers out there in the ocean of temptation.
Great shopping trip to Trader Joe's - lots of healthy food. Nice dinner - frozen veggie stir fry w/tofu (frozen veggies and sauce from TJ) (only 200 cals - very tasty), strawberry-banana-pineapple smoothie, yummy, (150 - I made half what I used to). The frozen fruits are great to have for these smoothies. A few mini snacks - 1 choc covered peanut (20), 1 yogurt covered raisin (20), 2 olives (20) All in all about 1500 for today! No exercise, but lots and lots of house cleaning. Good luck everyone - thanks for listening. |
Evening all;
Tiredoffat, you have done real good. I am sure that when school starts you will be just fine. Thing of all the teachers who were on weight loss plans this summer. Maybe there won't be all that food. Try bringing in a fruit or veggie tray. See, which goes fastest. That or junk?? :) You sound like you will have a busy weekend but a fun one at that. I am having a decent day. Stuck to the new WW core plan today. DH made me some homemade ice cream that I can have. More info on Curves. You do a workout machine for 30 seconds and then a recover station for 30 seconds. And contuine on that until you have done about 25 mins. Total workout time is 30 minutes. But, you have stretches after. Some circuits you go around 3 times. Ours is twice because we have allot of machines. I got my heart rate up to where I like working out at. I really need to start counting and working on adding more reps per machine. Well, off to get some after dinner clean up and get ready for tomorrow. Thursday is when I have to run routes for my DH delivery route. It takes me about an hour. Not many drops this week. Have a good night everyone. One more day closer to that goal. Maybe this week I can get that top!! :) |
Not a good day dietwise. And last night after volleyball, I did split a couple appetizers with FH... the sampler (fried stuff... bad but soooo good) and some nachos. I didn't eat a whole lot of it all though... 2 onion rings, 3 cheeseballs, 1 mozarella stick, 4 chicken bites, and maybe 1/3 of the nachos... they had meat and cheese and lots of veggies on them. Considering it was my entire dinner, not bad. Didn't try to find the calorie content of each of those, but I don't think I went over 1400 too much. We also played 4 games of volleyball, so I burned off more than I have been just watching all summer.
Today, I had some peanuts this morning (290) and a chicken salad sandwich (335) for lunch with those fritos honey BBQ twist things (400 - ok, convenience store lunch today... sigh). That is all I have had so far. DD is gone to a friend's, and FH isn't home yet. I think I may just make a can of soup (tomato garden soup... 200 calories for the whole can and it really fills me up). I am also hoping to get in a jog tonight... I have work to do on the computer, but I hope to get that jog in... hope for me! I use fitday.com to find out calories of a lot of things. I have also used fast food or chain restaurant's websites if they list nutritional information. A friend said he has a few really accurate sites he is going to email me. I will share them when I get them and we can all check them out! Keep up the good work ladies! |
Morning: Boy, fatmommacat with all that volleyball, you should have worked off most of that. They say you need more calories if you work hard. I blew my ww new core plan in the middle of the night. Woke up at 2:30 starving, headache, coughing, everything. got up and watched a show I taped and ate rocky road ice cream. allot of it to. Well, DH is upset because I went and joined WW yesterday and spent money on something I am not going to use. So, putting it on e-bay tonight. I should get most of my money back. My dd and I had lost bunches of weight on the old exchange plans. Trying to find my old stuff. I am a packrat and keep all that stuff. Now back to square one. Again, but, that's ok, will be keeping where I am at for now. Everyone have a good day. Time get the the routes run on the puter. So, when dh gets home he can load and go. Check in later.

Hi Chipper - too bad about the WW. I'm so afraid of joining anything because I've failed so many times - I'm enthusiastic at the start and then I let denial set in and I'm back to my old habits.
Tried on my fall clothes last night - so discouraging. I'm 10 pounds heavier than I was last year at this time. I just looked so big and I was uncomfortable too. I put the clothes one size down in a section of my closet and hope to be in those in a month. So far the encouraging messages on all these sites have helped me to stay on track, but I have to work on portion size and fitting in a good workout as often as possible. Take care good luck today! sw210/cw202/gw205 |
Well, now there is a reason to get me in gear. Our bestman at our wedding is coming east from ID this winter. We havn't seen him for at least 20 years. The weight I have put on since then. So, here is something to make me think harder to find a plan. Will, be digging out some old stuff sooner that later. Have a good day. I need to get into my closet also, and get rid of the big clothes!! :) Will be back later.

Hello All!! Sorry I missed posting yesterday, but I took a much needed bunk day from work & took my sister to Water Country before she heads back to college. I'll tell you, seeing her in a bikini really gave me a kick in the pants. I want to look like that!!! (she is 100lbs soaking wet, but only 5') I was VERY good with my eating though.
B= poached edd with 2 slices of toast & water L= cheesburger without the bun, a slice of bacon, some coleslaw and coffee with equal & a teaspoon of half & half D= 2 hot dogs(beef) with no buns, some ketchup & mustard and a glass of crystal light lemonade 1839 cal according to fitday.com Doing ok today too. My husband finally fixed our 2nd truck, so I was up at 4:30a & at the gym before work. Got in an hour! The only thing is, when I work out, I get hungrier. B= protein drink & coffee with equal & creamer Snack= a fresh cucumber that I bought at a veggie stand...yummy! Lunch= I brought 2 hot dogs, but not really feeling it. I will see what happens. I am drinking lots of water & down another 2 lbs this week....yay :cp: :cb: No that I am going back to the gym in the morning, more will come off!!! Good luck everyone!!! Keep up the good job. |
Hi all. Hblank - wow! You've really made the start. Inspiring especially the part about going to the gym in the am - that's the best time for me but I had trouble pulling myself out of bed this morning. Chipper - great motivation - the best man's visit.
The beach was beautiful though the kids were somewhat out of sorts still. Hopefully I'll really be able to dote on them during our four day getaway. I'm going to plan a menu before we go. That's what I did today and I stuck to it. It really helped me resist temptation. breakfast - two eggs on whole wheat english muffin, oj (350) lunch - tuna roll up w/lettuce and tomato (no mayo) (300) snacks - grapes/little tomatoes (100) 2 plums (90) dinner - low carb tortilla w/cheese, salsa (330), mango smoothie (300), fudge pop (30) Total - 1500! That's it for today. exercise - not enough - short walk on beach, maybe I'll be able to fit in more tonight. I wish everyone a great weekend - lots of success!!! I'll be back online next week after the trip to northern Vermont. Thanks for all the encouragement! |
tIREDOFFAT---enjoy your trip! I am jealous, I love the northern states.. so pretty.
i am hanging in there. Had spahgetti & meatballs, probably to much too, but that is what I get for not eating dinner until 9pm. Took the dog for a LONG walk at the dog park when i got home. Nice trail in & out of woods. Just relaxing although I am sure I burned some calories, I was strolling. B- coffee cake muffin from DD(not too good, but yummy) and coffee Snack- cucmber (one of the doctors brings them in from his garden every day) Lunch- more spahgetti & meatballs, but a better,lesser portion Snack- V8 juice |
Hey ya'all;
Not much new in these southern parts. Got new puter today still tring to set everything up again. We have several home base business, and we are in the process of setting up a web site called "chippersvariety" :D Can't wait for that to start. Well, daughter and her family are here so will sign off for now. Be back tomorrow. Hope everyone has a real nice weekend. Chipper |
Hi, everyone - Been out of touch for a few days. Not all the days have gone as planned but it was a better week than the previous one so progress is progress, right? My sister and my bestfriend are working toward fitness goals, too, so we've got our own 3FC going :) and the Teaser is coming back in Pilates. According to the video I use, Joseph Pilates said that you'll feel better in 10 sessions, look better in 20 sessions, and have a whole new body in 30 sessions. I'll let you know if that's the case with me -- so far it's been 3 sessions this time.
Thanks again for all the encouraging comments -- it's great to read your posts and know we're all going to hit our goals this time 'round. Enjoy Sunday! SLM |
Just a quick HELLO. Getting hit real hard by Gaston right now. Had to come on real quick before I lose power. Well, gotta shut her down, be back later.
Chipper |
Hi all. I just caught up on everyone's weekend. The pilates video sounds interesting. I may try to get my hands on a copy. I've always been curious about pilates.
Let's face it vacations are difficult for dieters. The positive side was that I got lots of exercise including swimming, hiking and kayaking. The down side is that I gave in with a few not so healthy snacks (I'll skip the details). Luckily I had packed a lot of healthy food and my husband is starting to watch his cals too so I stayed on track somewhat. Starting now I'm back to business - my next getaway won't be until New Years so hopefully I can stay on track. Thanks for all the encouraging comments. I hope we can all keep this up. Take care. |
Good Morning. The plan today is to wear myself out entirely so tomorrow on the first teacher day of school I'll be able to sit still for the hours of meetings ahead of me. I'll probably bike with the kids. As for eating, I need to go grocery shopping and stock up on healthy choices. Have a good day. I'll check in later to see how everyone is doing.
|
Good morning everyone!! All in all, not a bad weekend. I should really check in more, but with the 3 step-kids running around, I don't have a second to sit, not that I am complaining.
Sat I did relatively well. Had scrambled eggs & lean turkey bacon with coffee Lunch-- ham & cheese roll up with mayo at the beach Snack-- celery with laughing cow cheese Dinner--my downfall chinese beef & broccoli & house fried rice. Yummy! I guess not so bad. Yesterday was a total loss as far as the no/low carbs B- a half of bagel with light cream cheese L- a huge bowl of whole wheat pasta with chicken,broccoli,artichokes, and roasted garlic sauce D- mac & cheese left over from the kids. So far today B-Protein drink, coffee snack- low carb yogurt lunch- boiled chicken with garlic,summer squash,zuccini, broccoli, and cauliflower Dinner---who knows. Exercise I have done pretty good at staying active, Sat we spent at the beach swimming, building sand castles, and just walking. Yesterday, i spent a good part of the day moving my sister into her college dorm in the heat, ugh!!! Already went to the gym this morning for an hour. Did the bike for a bit, then some weights. i am on the right track. I just have to stay away from the frozen yogurt & I will be ok. Hope everyone got to enjoy their weekend!!! Keep up the good work. |
Afternoon all;
Everyone did so good this weekend. I did not so good this weekend. First, Sat we had my DD and family over all day. Got the new puter that day. Clean out den. Sun was the storm. Made it through that. Just sorta ate when had a chance. Was afraid power was going to go out. Been awhile since I have been through a storm. Winds got to 70+. Didn't lose any trees this time. Watching Francis out there now. Today had eaten a real good breakfast. Had to take motherinlaw to the doc. for some tests and scans today. Left at 9 got home at 1:45. Long morning, also had 3 & 1 yr old granddaughters, so she bought us lunch at MickyDs. You know as i was sitting there eating I realized what I was eating and it didn't even dawn on me until then that I should have ordered different. It really showed me how much I mindlessly(sp) eat. So, counting all of it and see what I end up with. I failed the new WW core plan, so started another today. Well, have to make a run to the bank. Be back later. Chipper |
Hi - it's me and my worst time of the day. I just want to sit down and comfort myself with food. Hblank you are doing so well - the exercise and watching what you eat is working. I've got to exercise today. Perhaps I'll run right down to the gym after I write - the bike ride didn't work out. Chipper, I know what you mean about mindless eating, particularly when you are so busy with an elderly relative and two little ones. I think the grilled chicken sandwich or salads are the best choices at McD's but I'm not positive.
breakfast: coffee, pb and crackers, yogurt (320) lunch: tuna sandwich (600 - I made it fast, there was a lot of commotion and I was mindless too - a waste of calories), two tofutti fudgicles (60 - low cal choc treat) snack: two plums, one cup blueberries - about 150 total so far - 1130, that doesn't leave much for dinner. I think I'll have stir fry veggies and tofu (about 300) and a piece of fruit or cup of fruit salad - that will put me at 1500 or so. Exercising will help me to eat less for dinner. Talk to you later. . . |
Me again. I'm dying to dig into anything but it's 8:30 and I'll have a nice cold seltzer with lemon instead. I gained a pound on the vacation. It just shows that this will be a long road again and it means reducing calories. Tomorrow the real temptations await - tons of sweet food and lots of sitting around listening to lectures. My new, mini goal is to lose five pounds in two weeks. Anyone want to join me in this mini goal - that means on Sept. 13th I'll weigh five pounds less.

Good morning all! Well, after my downfall yesterday afternoon (I dug into mint choc. chip ice cream) I didn't even get to have dinner. My hubby was in an accident on the way home. He is fine, thnk God, but I spent a good part of the night driving to & from the hospital where he was taken.
I am off to a better start today though. B- low carb yogurt and coffee Here is what is my accomplishment---I was so tempted to grab a bagel cuz i am still hungry after the yogurt, but I grabbed a garden fresh cucumber instead...yum! One hurdle I beat, let's see what else the day has to throw at me. I have a new idea, from now on, I only eat what I pack in my bag & I pack it the night before right after dinner so I pack healthy, low-cal stuff that you do not consider when you are rushed & hungry, so let's see how this works. If it does, it will be pasta & sauce with a sausage for lunch and V8 for the train ride home. I hope everyone has a great day! Talk to ya later. |
Sorry to hear about your husband. Thank goodness he is ok. Did he have to stay in the hospital over night? That is always my worst nightmare. Since Hubby drives for his job. I won't ride with my kids. They are 23, 26. It is just something I can't bring myself to do. I have riden with the 26, because no choice. But, I will drive all the time. I guess that is the one thing that I can't accept my kids doing. Anyway, glad things turned out ok. Well, I am not doing nothing at all right now. My live has taken a big turn around, so I am the type of person who has to get use to new schedule. Well, now have to do something.

Here we GO!!!
Ok, so today is the first day of the rest of my life. I along with my in laws have decided to start Weight Watchers flex points plan today. Weight Watchers allows us to eat whatever our little hearts desire, as long as we control our portions. Being that I am so hefty (like it better than overweight) my points per day range between 28 and 32, so I can still eat quite a bit!
I am finally totally devoted to losing the weight I have always looked at with a blase tone of voice. I always said, yep I'm fat, get over it. But no more, I want to be the one that turns heads when I walk into a room. I am tired of my friends doing that. And besides, I am tired of feeling lethargic and embarrassed by how I look, no matter how well put together I am. It is definitely not healthy to look in a mirror and hate the face staring back at you because of your weight! So here we go, if I am going to do this, I am going to do it full on!!!! Exercise- Not today, just due to the fact that I have to get used to eating differently before I start any type of physical activity, I like to know what my standard energy level is going to be before I exert myself. So more than likely next week I will start some form of exercise! Food- my true love! Breakfast consisted of a cup and a half of cereal, half a cup of 1% milk, and a coffee with splenda and creamer....overall a 4 Point meal. Lunch was a decent size bowl of homemade vegetable soup, and a bologna & american cheese sandwich on light italian bread with mustard, lettuce and tomato. Very filling meal (can you say quel surprise on my part) for a miniscule 9 points Dinner is going to be huge for me....this is when I usually stuff myself silly. But we are having 3 oz cornish game hen, 1/2 c. flavored instant rice, green beans (I can have a whole field of 'em if I need to), and an appetizer of salad (which for me is only lettuce, tomato, and cucumber) with light italian dressing (2 tbsp...which is going to seem like nothing) for a total of 8 huge points. Not only that, but I get to have snacks....woo hoo! Thus far today I have already had a few cherry tomatoes fresh from a friends garden, 3 colossol grapes (counting toward my 1 cup total) and later I am going to have 6 cups of air popped popcorn with mrs. dash for flavor....gotta forgo that butter...yeah you read it right 6 cups!! And after dinner I get to have a Fruit Yogurt Smoothie with peaches, yogurt (light of course) and fat free cool whip! Total points for snacks 5 (insane isn't it) This brings my total point count for the day up to 27....I could add another 3 cups of popcorn to hit my minimum, but I am saving all my extra points for a weekend splurge! Sundays are family night! Overall today I feel great although my body has chosen today to begin flushing itself of toxins....thanks to the billions of cups of water I drink! |
