No real workout other than walking into and out of the office. I will try to get into the swing of things thurs. Hope your all doing well. |
Hi Carol,
I had an extra busy day today, just got home. Fairly good eating day - a little high at 1600 due to the two energy bars I ate - one at 10 and one at 5, better than eating all the cookies though. No exercise today, just lots of work - good work though, work I'm glad I did. Had the leftover chili that I made last night for dinner - it was so, so good - lots and lots of veggies and bulghur which gave it a nice consistency. Low cal too. Like you, I hope to get up early tomorrow and head to the gym for some exercise. I'll go to bed early tonight. Tomorrow my husband is going to be gone from early in the am until late a night, so it will be an extra busy day. Take care. Glad you're here. I'm also glad that you're feeling better. |
Herbal Life Midweek (3rd)
Hi, Ladies:
I really fell off today, too much fat in my unbalanced diet. I had no breakfast except coffee, For lunch I had a quesadilla with lowfat cheese and water For a snack I had a venti non-fat latte (200 cal) and a slice of lemon loaf I had a late dinner with friends at 7:30: huevos rancheros, I ate a few spoons of rice, but I tried not to eat it all, and Horchata (sweet rice water). Next time I go out, I am going the sushi way, rather than mexican food. I gained 2 pounds tonight so I am at 160 from 158. I am going to do the herbalife shake tomorrow morning to get myself going again. I almost don't want to post so as not to bring you girls down. I also feel like I haven't been able to rest well since Saturday night not to mention my line of work wears me out sometimes (HR Manager). I am so tired. It's 10:35 pm and I just got home about an hour ago so I am going to bed. Sorry I am not so cheerful today ladies, but it seems like you too are doing well. cacmsc, I am glad you are feeling better and I like your diet today. If you want to slim down the cals use 1% versus 2% and you'll see the difference. Tiredoffat my goal is 130-135 lbs. so I have to lose about 30 lbs. The doctor told me to definitely lose 20 lbs. I am going to take a 10 lb challenge and go low enough so I can get into at least the mid 150s within a week. We'll see. Needless to say I didn't make my appointment to weigh in. I appreciate my aunt because she called me tonight despite my cancellation to keep me motivated. I definitely see her tomorrow. Good night! I kind of feel better just writing to you all, and I too am glad that both of you are here and have been so kind. |
Hello girls, glad you both stopped in, sometimes its really hard. But when I don't, I fall off the wagon and hit my head until I finally get back up and see the little light the end of the tunnel. Kind of queer but true.
Today I am feeling a bit of a headache the sinus problem I am sure. So its taking a bit to kick this one. But I will! I have to take my grandson to church tonight as my daughter has to take the girls to Daisies. Such a busy life. So I am going to go right after work to exercise. Some is better than none. Olga thanks for the milk idea. Changing our lifestyles and being healthier is a learning experience and knowing when we could of made a better choice for the day is part of the process. So don't feel badly on this site we support each other. I feel you can write anything you want. Also its when I don't check in that trouble starts. I guess I have been reading too much lately. But it helps keep me on track and motivated. At least we are making changes and that is a great sign. Jobs also can be stressful and emotions for me lead to poor food choices and no exercise. I am a Service Coordinator for Mentally ******ed Individuals and it can be stressful making sure things are going well etc.... Lots of resources but lack of services available due to population etc................. So good luck and hang in there. Don't forget to eat breakfast its an important meal even if its a breakfast bar it would be better. Intake planned: Breakfast: Kashi cereal crunch 250 w/ milk Snack; 1 apple lg. 100 Lunch: 1/2 whole wheat pita 60 cal. roasted chicken br. 100? cherry tomatoes, grated garlic cheese 50, leafy greens 0 Total= 210 , little dressing 60 cal. 1 yogurt 100 cal. Snack: 1 cup popcorn 80 cal. Dinner: 1 little chicken leg roasted, 2 thin slices ham, 1 piece of cheese ? cal appox. 400 cal.? 1 banana 100 cal. Snack ; almonds 120 cal. 1450 in cal's no more today! ice water later on. I have been doing better with the water lately. Have a great day everyone. Measuring things like my cereal seems to help s I don't put extras in that I am not aware of. Carol |
Hi Olga and Carol, good to hear from you. The day started great with a new low of 170.8 so I'm almost at the 50lb loss place - just .8 to go! I also had a great workout - 45 min on the eliptical, hills #10 - tough but invigorating. The day then went downhill with a really tough school day - like both of you I work with people all day and it's hard to please everyone and know exactly how to help every child stay on track, stay positive and learn. Yes, my first reaction to the day was to want to devore anything and everything in sight, but I stayed the course and came in close to my 1500 limit. Also my husband had both am and pm meetings which means I have to do all the care and transitions today - that's hard, but it went well. My reward at the end of the day - writing to you and sharing all this. Thanks for listening.
I've brought a bag of healthy food to work to add to my daily salad. I stopped getting the cafe turkey and bring my own additions - tastier and healthier. I've been drinking lots of decaf teas thanks to everyone's suggestion - a nice calming drink. I've also been planning ahead so that my weekly cals average 150 - I'm going out Sat. night so I'm trying to fit in an extra exercise day to make up for it as I'm going to allow myself a no rules dinner that night (but not a pig out!). Hope you're all doing well. Take care. |
p.s. that's 1500 cal avg

Herbal Life Midweek (3rd) Part 2
Hello Ladies:
Thanks for the input to my gloomy day yesterday. :^: I am happier today, the body is such a miraculous thing; I went for my weekly weigh in tonight. I weighed in at 162 lbs, a pound higher but I am not worried because "Aunt Emma is in town for her monthly visit" if you know what I mean. I did lose 1/2" of chest, 1.5" of waist, with arms, thigh and hips staying the same. My aunt said she usually sees the upper body losing inches first. How sad, I would like to keep my chest and lose the hips. Today I skipped breakfast ( a no-no, I know), and had coffee 50 cal. So I set myself up tonight to get back on track tomorrow morning. I am going to add in the Herbalife again for a week to get my weight down. I had sushi for lunch and allowed myself to eat enough rolls to make up the calories I didn't consume this morning; about 75-80 calories per roll. 80*8=640, plus plenty of green tea. Snack= coffee 50 Tonight I had cereal and 1% milk = 300, plus pink grapefruit juice = 100 cals. I will speak with you all tomorrow. Olga |
Tiredoffat your doing wonderful the 50lbs. is a real accomplishment. You must be so pleased with yourself. It sounds like your preplanning for your evening out and thats a good idea. Sometimes just eating a good breakfast, lunch and fit in something crunchy like carrots and celery will help. Also remember to eat some fiber it keeps you full longer and then you can save the cals for your dinner out. Have fun you deserve it. I liked your idea of the saturday wt. day it does make me more aware of my intakes for friday. Before when I would reach the weekend I ate extras. At least it has me thinking. I also am going to do my measurements again its been a while but I kept them on some paper in the bathroom closet. I feel like I am in more control these days.I plan on going to the gym after work.
Olga glad your feeling a bit more up today. Sometimes we just get in a slump. Its life and we do get over it. The diet sounds like its working for you. You and that skipping breakfast! Maybe your like my daughter she doesn't like breakfast until late in the morning. Me I am up early and have to eat something unless I am busy and delay for a bit. Your wt. isn't bad and at that time of month I always had water wt. Oh now I haven't had that excuse in a few months and don't miss it either. Oh my latest find for having a snack which is healthy, and crunchy is Kashi crunch cereal dry. I measure 1/2 cup and eat it like it was chips. Crazy but it fits in and is healthy. I am going to make some muffins or banana bread this weekend using whole wheat flour etc. We will see how it comes out. My day isn't really planned as I am going out for lunch today and grocery shopping later on. So I will edit later on. Have a super day. We are all going to look great this spring. My books came in at the library Dr. Phil and South Beach cookbook good things to read I think. I will share any interesting stuff. Intake: 1 banana, oatmeal reg. ,appox.300 cal. Lunch: |
Hi Carol and Olga,
I'm stressed this afternoon - ready to jump out of my skin. I love children but I haven't had a break in quite a while - I need a few hours of grownup time. I think I'll get a break tonight and go for a needed workout. I've been having a hard time sticking to the 1500 the past two days. I've edged up just a bit to 1600, but some of it has been stress eating. I'm trying to learn not to do that. The food choices have been healthy however. Olga, sounds like your Thursday went well with good choices. Carol seems like you are making some great exchanges such as healthy Kashi for chips - for me, that seems like the way to go - find alternative foods and/or activities to fufill old cravings. I also have to look at ways to pace my days with greater peace so I'm not stressed like this in the afternoon. Tomorrow I'm going skiing with my son and his friend. I hope it goes well. I'm looking forward to the beauty of the mountain which I like most of all. That change of scenery might be nice. Take care all. I'll write again later this weekend - perhaps tomorrow. For some reason, I need the support more than ever, I'm just dying to eat, eat, eat but I won't because I want more than that to be able to wear some pretty spring clothes and to have fun in a new bathing suit at the beach this summer!!!!! Thanks for being here I couldn't do it without you. |
Sorry to have gone AWOL so soon after jumping in! I forgot how to find you, then I got sick :( Feeling much better now. In a nutshell, I've been Eating Per Plan all week, although not working out much. But hte weight is continuing to creep downward, so I won't complain. I'll check back in when I have more time over the weekend.
|
Julie glad you stopped in and keep up the good intakes. Have a good weekend.
Tiredoffat our changes aren't easy and they have been with us a long time. Breaking habits and changing our ways it takes a lot. I think you need to give yourself some credit just look at how you might of eaten a year ago. How much exercise were you doing? What was your wt.? You have accomplished a lot. I get out of wack to yesterday my intake wasn't great but it was still better choices than I used to make. I went out for lunch with the girls and we had chinese. I did eat extra veggies, didn't eat that whole egg roll only the stuffing, less fried etc. But I still went over what I should of had. Then had almonds for a snack, pizza w/ veggies for dinner. But at least I didn't chow down on any other snack foods or chips last night. So I made some better choices not on my so called plan but thats okay. Today will be tricky as I am going to eat chinese again with my sister in law. But this time we are going to choose off the menu not the buffet. That will be better for me I am sure. Last nights dinner I would of gotten seafood to have for dinner but thought the hubby would like pizza. He ate 1 piece I had two.. Its a hard battle. But I think we are making better choices and over all its geting better. When your stressed its hard try to each something with some fiber as it will keep you fuller longer. Try your cup of tea. I am going to get my books at the library today we will have some new ideas to try. Today I am going with my sister in law to the craft show folk art. Then to lunch and I hope to get to the gym. Have fun with your son! Thats great exercise. I'll edit later on . Intake today: Kashi cereal w/ skim milk coffee |
Only down .5 but I guess better than nothing. Least I got on the scale. I will do my measurements on sunday. This will make me go to the gym today!
Intake; Out to lunch chicken chowmein only ate 1/2, 1/2 brown rice few fried noodles , bad thing was the egg roll but it wasn't too greasy and lots of veggies at least inside. We are planning on dinner out with friends again this will be a challenge. I am not sure what I will order but I will at least ask for my dressing on the side and only dip. Maybe I will order a steak its been awhile? At any rate eating out is always a challenge. |
Hi all. Carol, great to hear that you are down .5. Every bit counts. When you loose it slowly it tends to stay off I've heard. Eating out is hard. I got home early from the ski trip. We had a lot of fun, but we all got really tired out so rather than push it we left mid afternoon. We were among the first there this morning at 7:30.
Stuck with healthy food - really hungry so I ate some extra but like you said at least I wasn't eating what I would have eaten last year like fries, fried food, candy, etc. We're getting there. Thanks for the encouragement Enjoy the craft show and dinner. It's nice to spend time with friends - I so cherish weekend time. Take care. |
Hi ladies!
I don't know how long it has been, but wedding planning can just take over one's life, ya know? I haven't done much lately for my weight, but I have been eating better (or at least attempting to). I actually haven't even weighed myself for the last couple months. We are now TTC, so I am not going to do any serious dieting, but I do want to see if I can't lose a couple pounds before we have a bun in the oven (if we don't right now that is) and I will be trying to keep my weight gain during prenancy within norms... I will try to read back a bit and catch up on everything!!! |
Just a quick note to say that I'm feeling much better, even made it to the gym yesterday and have been running around being social all weekend. Yesterday I ate very weirdly, because of dashing back and forth, but still managed to Eat Per Plan, except for being a good guest at a friend's house for dinner, where I ate (and throughly enjoyed) a spoonful of potato salad, and was able to dodge dessert. Today, alas, I ate a huge brunch, so no indulgences for me during the Super Bowl! I'll have water and a protein shake and like it!
|
Nice to hear from you Fatmommacat. Good luck with your new life and the hubby.
Judy glad your feeling better its no fun being sick. I luck out on all that snacking good food for the Super Bowl as my hubby isn't really into sports much. I did manage to go walking today. I went to the gym but it was packed and it was 45 outside so I decided to go to the canal and go for a walk. I even put a little jog into it today. I had a lot of resistance while walking as the path was snow covered and I had sneakers on . At any rate at least I went and it was beautiful outside. I am going to fit in at least 3 times more this week. I am reading the Dr. Phil 7 steps. It is quite interesting and is puting me in a get serious mood with my health and life style. My eating today was good. I went shopping and bought lots of veggies and some fruit. Well I am going to go eat my snack of a yogurt w/ super natural granola in it and a few buleberries. Tireddoffat I am sure you are very busy today with the hubby and kids. Hope all is going well. Which Dr. Phil book were you reading? He has some good points. My goal is to lose 5 lbs. by the end of the month, not impossible! But hard work! We will see how I do. Exercise 3-4 times a wk. and think of what I am eating before I consume it. I will need support that is for sure! Carol |

Hi, a quick check-in:
Work: ARRRRGH! Workout: Made it to the gym yesterday, getting in my walks yesterday and today. Food (The Good): Have managed to day "no" to several temptations these past few days, and have been keeping up with my journal. Staying well hydrated, not sneaking food at night. Food (The Bad): Have not been strictly EPP, craving extra helpings, but then I discovered that it's that time of the month and now all is explained. So I'm allowing myself more higher-carb healthy food for a few days without beating myself up about it. Food (The Ugly): Ate two protein bars yesterday afternoon before I figured out why I'm so 'hungry' all the time! It occurred to me that despite the daily ups and downs, I'm still on track to reach my year-end goal, and that felt great! Hang in there, ladies :strong: |
Judy and Julie good to hear from you both! Kudos to you both with your intakes. Judy sometimes knowing why we want certain foods at times helps us to learn our wants and needs. Sounds like your geting in your exercise.
At any rate here is my intake. Julie I have been trying to get into the teas again sometimes I just forget. I also read about the green tea. One day I gave cup of green tea to a coworker and all she did was go to the bathroom all afternoon. So its kind of a joke around my office. When someone doesn't feel good I say try some tea. No one ever does! But I like it myself and even found Lime green tea. It was pretty good. I have been doing well with trying to fit a lot of variety in my diet. That way I don't get bored and eat healthier. Has anyone else had trouble with it taking awhile to get on this site? I experienced it last night? I know Tiredoffat was also having problems so I thought I'd ask other? Keep up the good work! Breakfast: 1 bagel carb right only 100 calories, 13 fibers, 2 slices canadain bacon 70 cals, 1 thin slice of american cheese 40 cal. = 210 cal. 1/2 grapefruit 30cal = 240 total Lunch; 1/2 red pepper with white tuna, lemon juice, lemon pepper, balamic vinegar and spices, celery, onion, cherry tomatoes and leaf greens, croutons and 6 almonds= 250cal. , 1/2 large apple 50 cal. Snack: celery and laughing cow cheese = 57 cal. Dinner: broccoli with cheeses and lemon 140 cal., turkey tenderlions 150cal., barbecue sauce 1T. 40 cal. =330 cal. Snack: 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream w/ frozen blueberries 200 cal. Hummus w/ celery 90 cal. Total cals= 1,200 Wow this is kind of low for me. My workout burned 260 on the treadmill and then 20 min more w/ wt. resistance. Today I did lack in the water intake though. 40 oz. total and 1 can of fresca no cal. Girls keep up the good work together we will all be ready to head into spring!!!!!!!!!!! Tiredoffat hope your out there! Carol |
Wed. a.m.
Today I am going to make it to the gym again. I feel so much more motivated lately. I have been reading the Dr. Phil 7 step solution. Not sure if thats helping or what but I feel like I am making some progress. I have a better attitude with the wt. , lifestlye changes etc. I still will wait to do my wt. on saturday and in the book it suggest 1 time a week. Tiredoffat was the one who had the idea of saturdays as it helps you get a grip on the weekend. I know last friday I thought more about trying to make healthier choices. Intake Plans: Breakfast= 1 low carb bagel w/ simply fruit 130 cal., 1 bowl cereal 200cal. w/ skim milk =330 yogurt= snack Lunch= salad w/ tuna, lemon juice, lemon pepper, tomatoes, red pepper, croutons and cheese, almonds 250 cal. 1 apple 100 = 350 Dinner= homemade chili w/ lean beef, beans, lots of peppers, onions, celery 400cal? fat free pudding 1cup 60 cals 1400 calories total Take care everyone! |

Julie, send some of that sunshine up to Washington, DC! It's turned cold and windy, and may snow a bit before the night's over.
Carol, I haven't had problems getting onto the site, but maybe it's harder during peak times, I dunno. Today I had an apple and string cheese for breakfast on the run, pecans for a snack, veggie soup and ceviche for lunch (Tex-Mex restaurant) and a protein bar late this afternoon. I'm planning to have soup and a big salad for dinner, if I ever make it home from work! Probably wqon't make my Valentines day goal (need to lose 2 more lbs) but I'm satisfied with my progress so far. Take care, ladies! |
Hi all, can't live without you and really can't stay on track without you. Haven't wandered too far. Still having trouble getting on the site so I won't be popping in quite as often. Our computer is having a lot of trouble and we are so so so incredibly busy these days (doing what?????) that we just don't have time to deal with.
Ever feel like there's a lot of contrary energy in the air - that's what I'm feeling at home, at work and in the word in general. Funny, but I for once I don't feel like I'm causing it, but I feel like I'm in the center watching it all whirl around me. Anyways I'm staying close to 1500 however all this snow has me wanting to eat more. I've been exercising a lot! I've grown to love it!!!! I'm up to about 4 miles sometimes slow and sometimes a little faster. I feel great when I do it. Even my bigger size 12 pants are loose though I'm having trouble getting under 170 (much better than the 210 I started with in August.) Good to hear that you're doing well Julie. Glad you're reading Dr. Phil Carol. I'm going to pull it out tonight for more motivation. Thanks for bearing with my quick messages until the energy organizes itself again. Take care. I think of you every day!!! |
Hello everyone sorry I was a wall for a couple of days. Those darn female problems got the best of me and I was kind of exhausted etc. and out work. I landed in the doctors yesterday and my blood pressure was up first time in years due to my time. So I had to take it easy on exercise. But I did manage to get some in this week and reached my 3 day goal. I was shooting for 4 but this problem delayed me. And even with Tom as someone called it the doctors scale showed a decrease. That was something positive I was a bit down yesterday and the nurse even told me to give myself a break. So I did! At any rate as soon as I can I will be exercising again but for a couple of days need to let my body kind of rest. Thats not much fun now is it? Everytime I get started I get sick. But the doctor said I am in good health for the most part and keeping up with myself what ever that meant. She was pleased with the vitamins I am taking and feels thats why the menopause hasn't gotten the best of me. So I guess that is a positive thing too! Anyways my intakes haven't been to bad but the last two days I haven't written them up I will later today. Yesterday I did go for lunch after the doc's I had a fried fish sandwich didn't eat the roll and left 1/2 of the breading and didn't eat the chips. So I felt good about that. I am trying to make some better choices with many things. If I take higher cal. I add it in. So I figure at least its counted. I have been doing a lot of reading lately and many things say the best way is counting diets. The reports are showing that many fad diets in the long run don't provide us with enough protection against cancer etc. So just something to consider I guess exercise and a balanced diet seems to be the way to go! I will keep reading because it motivates me. I am glad to hear your doing so well Julie and yesterday I would of loved some warm weather. Little snow coming down today but sunny! Judy keep up the good work. Tiredoffat sometimes we are in the middle of things happening and tend to get twirled around a bit. Don't lose your footage you've come a long way. Isn't it nice that the wt. is coming off? Slower is better in the long run. The exercise will continue to help your clothes fit nicely and give you more energy. Being hungry is normal after all your burning calories and building muscle. Keep up your good efforts there paying off. I enjoyed some of Dr. Phil I sifted through some of it as it didn't fit my bill other stuff did etc....
Olga are you out there. Any one hear from Rollmdl? Carol |
Well girls I have been off with my intakes for a couple of days. On Tues. my goal is to exercise and eat healthy. With Valentines Day I knew today would be hard and it was. To many temptations out there and not enough will power.
I will ck in on Tues with a better out look on life and my health. Carol |
I'm back! How are you? I'm thinking about starting a new thread - spring fling! Would you join. Maybe we'd get some new ideas and a fresh start for the next leg of our journey. I really want to reach my goal. In fact, I'm starting it tonight.

I'm Making a most triumphant return!!
Ok ladies,
First off I am coming back full force! I have been gone a few months, but have decided its now or never. So I will be starting on February 21st (and quitting smoking two weeks later). I am going for an all out heathier lifestyle. So, I look forward to posting with all you wonderful ladies. :D |
That''s great Synn. Have you thought about making a weight loss time line. I'm going to do that today. What you do is project ahead, for example say you want to be 200 by March 31 then you put that weight there and a little prize/incentive listed too. That way you can visualize where you're going. Just a thought and something I'm going to try. It's amazing how counting calories, eating healthy foods and exercise does the trick! Good luck. I'm here for you

Tiredoffat you must of read my mind. I was just thinking yesterday that this site needs some changes. I knew that because you started this one that you were the one to talk to. I got on and you had already had it going. Your something else! Thanks for being here. I think its a great idea and we need to start fresh and set some goals. I already set my goal for the 5lb. end of Feb.. According to the book from Dr. Phil this is an important step, time line. I think my prize will be a new spring outfit. Well the last few days have been tough but now I feel ready. All those female problems really took a toll on me. Oh sometimes life has to throw in a few monkey wrenches. Something that worked for me before is a 10 day new habit starting something and keeping it up daily. Maybe for an example mine was using the stairs at work v.s. the elevator. It worked before I knew it that became my routine. Synn I look forward to sharing thoughts and ideas with you. Every little change makes a difference. I am on my last part of Dr. Phil and will hopefully finish it up tonight. Has anyone heard of the Abs Diet? It was in the Prevention Magazine and got great reviews. I may try to get it from the library. Well take care everyone and keep up the good work! I am going to get to the gym today and get my hair trimmed too! New me starting today!!! Hah Hah!
I am also going to drink my water and eat only healthy. Going to stay at 1500 or less today! Carol |
Hi--
I'm trying to recover from a very tiring and aggravating few weeks! I haven't been able to focus on my eating, and I injured my back so I haven't been working out (although it's much better today). At least I haven't been inhaling ice cream or bourbon the way I might have a few months ago, so I guess I'm learning how to be a little less self-destructive. I'm still a few pounds off my Valentines Day goal, so I would be up for a new short-term challenge. It's good to hear all of your 'voices' speaking so honestly and positively! Must run, will be back tomorrow. I promise! |
I'm Baaaaaaaaack!!!!!
Hi Everyone,
I'm sorry to have disappeared for such a long time. It hurt me more than it did you (gee, where have we heard that phrase?). I've gained the weight I lost back. I'm up to 169 now. I didn't want to post till I caught up with your posts. Julie, I'm glad you're well and it sounds like we have both been through some "stuff". I'm back with my tail between my legs. I have started taking a water exercise class once a week.I've been going for 3 weeks. It's such a great gentle/hard form of exercise. I've also done a few turns at the gym pumping iron--about 10 lbs. It's pretty humbling. Well, I'm ready to get with the program again. This extra weight hurts my feet!!!!!I know that when I can feel the fat on the top of my feet shake when I walk barefoot, it's time to drop some weight!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I felt so much energy with the diet I had before Christmas. I'm comforted that you are all still here. Thanks for being so consistant and for keeping this thread going. I think I'll spend the next Christmas season in a prison camp. I'll understand if you all shun me for awhile. I'm so impressed with all your exercise and good attitudes. It's good to be back, Roll :gossip: :gossip: :grouphug: :gossip: :gossip: |
Judy glad your feeling better. When we get sick or have problems it seems to take its toll on every area of our life. We are all glad that your with us and hang in there I know things will get better.
Rollmdl my dear friend there isn'[t a soul on this site that would ever look at you differently because you had some problems and left for awhile. We are just going to be excited that you are back. Now give yourself a big hug from me! Welcome back! For whatever reasons you left for awhile are your business and if you decide to share them we will listen but thats up to you not us. We are here to support you as always and we need your support as well. I am sorry for your hard time but as far as wt. loss goes knowing what caused you to gain is important. I have read that taking control and learning what triggers our eating is important knowledge. At least you have returned and that is a good step in the right direction. I recently got a book Tiredoffat was checking out The Ultimate Weight Solutions by Dr. Phil. I got it from the library so free is good huh? Anyways some of it I just skipped through but some of it is really interesting and has helped me focus a bit. I would reccomend it to others to ck. it out. One thing I am really doing is kind of what Tiredoffat said setting a time line , a goal. By setting the goals I seem to have more confidence in making it all happen. I had a set back myself sick etc. For awhile I didn't use the scale some of us can live with out it . I need it for a ck. and balance at least once a week. As I go on I learn more about what makes me tick. The thing about weight loss, health and lifestlye changes its very individualized. Tips and ideas we share are all wonderful sources of information. So keep in mind your not alone we are all on this boat together. We can do this and we are so glad to have you all on here!!!!!!!!!! Tiredoffat is talking of starting a new thread also. We are ready to spring into Spring! Tiredoffat any more thought on the new thread? We would have to post something to let our friends know where we went to. Wouldn't want to lose anyone along the way! Hope your doing well. I started just doing my intake in a note book for right now. Pre planned days around 1500 cal. w/ 3 workouts at least per wk. goal still 5lbs. by 2/28 we'll see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Carol |
Good morning
Thanks for your kind and welcoming words, Carol.
I'm thinking that my morning check-ins need to be brief. I'll have more time to post in the evening. My food plan for today. Breakfast: berry non-fat yogurt smoothie lunch: chicken almond salad snack: dried white nectarines dinner: mostly vegetable beef stew Thank you all. Love, Roll |
Hi all. Welcome back Roll. Shun you - are you kidding! It's great to see an old friend return. With all the reading I've been doing about weight loss - turns in the path are a natural part of the journey. It's not a straight path!!!!! I'm just happy you've returned. How's your daughter?
Carol, thanks for the consistent feedback and support. The spring outfit sounds like a great outfit. I'm glad you like the Dr. Phil book. I find myself going back to it. It's very interesting what he has to say about strength training and how it reshapes your body and really helps with weight loss. I'm going to explore that when I have a little extra time. Until then I'm going to stick to the exercise and 1500 cals. I bagged all my clothes that are bigger than size 12 - and then I had to go out and buy a few new things. I must say it feels great!!!!! Now it's time to really get into the next part of the journey - the next 20lbs. Here goes. Glad you're all here for to journey with me. Have a great night. |
Julie, I'm thinking about you. Thanks for your support too. How are things down under?

Hi, Roll--I'm glad that you're here. Let she who is without sin cast the first doughnut....
I'm talking to myself a lot, trying to get at whatever it is that's keeping me from building up some momentum lately. In the meantime, I'm going to focus on not eating once I've had my dinner and dessert, and on moving my body every day, which means aerobics or walking on the days I don't make it to the gym. So far today I've been EPP: protein smoothie for breakfast, apple and pecans for AM snack, salad w/chicken for lunch, protein bar for PM snack. Have a good night--judy |
Hello everyone. Well the doctors office called today about my bloodwork from last wk. Seems that it was off and my thyroid levels were messed up and lack of iron. I am still waiting to hear what their going to do. They sent it all over to my primary from GYN. I get so fed up sometimes with thinking I am eating good an not losing much. Well just maybe my thyroid is out of wack. Now I have a real excuse! Now isn't that something? Oh well already had surgery on that many years ago prob. just a medicine adjustment. But the bloodwork also showed some other problems with my iron levels. Boy I thought I eat so many veggies how could that be out of wack? Oh well I guess thats for those guys with the degrees to figure out its a waiting game for me to hear from them. Meanwhile I will continue on my journey to try and be healthy. Tonight I had a nice dinner with my grandson whom is 8 the hubby was ill with a virus. So he and I had cajun pork chops and stir fry veggies in a bit of olive oil and garlic, soy sauce. The veggies were all fresh they were tasty. I haven't had a evening snack maybe I will have a mango. Well talk to you all soon and take care stay healthy! Tiredoffat I agree with you about the turns in the road to changes. Making the changes in the long road make the difference. Which Dr. Phil did you read? I missed the strength training section?
