Thumbs up NSVs (non-scale victories) #1

TJs DH's comment about her weight loss prompted this new thread.
Mine are:

1) Last Sunday I wore a dress to church that hasn't fit since Fall of 2000. And the best part is, if I had waited much longer to try it on, it would've been too big.

2) I can run around the yard with the grandkids and not getting winded... I feel so healthy now.

3) There're a lot of new clothes in my closet.

4) My rings and shoes are too loose.

5) I am more productive because I have more energy - when I wanna be,

6) Friends stop me in Wal-mart and want to know how I'm losing. WW and Dr. Phil should each send me a referral commission check!

All you "losers", please share with us the small victories you have. Susan, you must have a bazillion of them!

I had to think of from when I was at my heaviest to now and see what I had to put down here.

1. I was extremely excited when the size 34 mens jeans where no longer too tight!!

2. I had baggy underwear!! That was a shocker. You know you lose weight, but to have to change the size of your underwear??? That was fun!!

3. I am more flexible.

4. My bladder isn't as angry with me anymore. I used to have such a time with feeling like I'm going to pee at any moment. A little weight loss really made a difference!!

5. I have family members ask me how I do it. Of coarse now I just look at them and say "I'm not sure.....I still trying to figure that out!"

6. I am no longer see stars, get dizzy, or feel woozy when I'm climbing stairs.

7. No more high blood pressure!! (so far so good girls!!...it's staying in the normal range)

The most recent being.....

Having James tell me to "face it, you no longer wear size 10 womens jeans---they're too baggy"

I'm sure I could go on and on if I thought more on it, but that's a start.

Wow... I love these stories!

RK - I'm going to have to get all my rings resized when I get to goal, except for my double sapphire. It is so small that it's just now fitting me right, and is in no danger of falling off.

Marti - love your list! I also love getting all new unmentionables. Neal likes it, too. I forgot about the bladder thing.. but it's true! I guess having less fat surround the darn thing really helps.

Shanna - what I know for sure is if you want it badly enough, you'll do it, and we other JLs will be here every step of the way to help you over the bumpy times, ok? ((Hugs))

Here's another nsv - my clothes take up less room in the hamper now. Sounds funny, but it's true. Now the lid shuts for an extra day, lol.

This was something else!!

Today as I was getting ready to go to the "girls room" I was undoing my belt and pulled my pants down (sorry to give such detail) and after I was finished...I was in such a hurry to go that I didn't realize that I didn't have to unbutton or unzip my pants!!

I was like WOW!!! That have NEVER been something I've experience in my adult life!!

I'm happy!

Yesterday at my niece's house, several people who I hadn't seen in awhile commented on all the weight I've lost, and that felt sooooo good. Especially since I still have so much to go. Also, I had no trouble going up and down the stairs over and over at the B&B, and enjoyed a long walk with Neal around the town without having to stop and sit at all.

I hadn't seen my friend who brought over her DGS today since a funeral in mid-May. (3 1/2 months ago) She went on and on about my weight loss, just amazed. I felt embarrassed by it, but felt so pleased, too. She says I look a lot younger, and I didn't even have to give her a quarter to say it.

I gotta tell you, things like that really boost a person's incentive!

Yesterday I wore a size 14 pants that I haven't been able to wear in quite a while. I was so excited. I'm gonna clean out my closet this weekend (a long one) and see what else I can "bring forward"

Janette,

I am so proud of you! What a great feeling! Is there one special thing from the past that you'd like to wear again?
